You deserve a healthy love with someone who hears you, sees you, understands you, appreciates you, supports you, and loves you. Someone who is patient, communicates clearly, and creates a calm safe space to heal, grow, and bloom together. A love you don't have to heal from.

Daily Writes - Sept 26/24
What makes a good beginning? What do you always make sure to include? 漏
depends on the genre in my opinion. for romance, I think a good beginning introduces both characters and sets up the relative stage of their relationship (e.g., are they already friends? are they enemies? did they just meet?). I try to include introductions for the characters - giving some detail to draw the readers in but not too much. good beginnings don't info dumb right off the bat, nor do they give entire backstories. they just give the reader a little taste of what's to come.
for fantasy, good beginnings also set the stage but more in the sense of the world. world building is so crucial to fantasy, I think a good beginning should give the reader some idea of what the world is like as well as introducing the characters. again, you don't want to info dumb or be... over the top in the descriptions or anything. subtle descriptions, slowly adding to it all, letting the reader get to know the world and the characters naturally. as well, if there's conflict (which fantasy novels usually have), you want to place hints or seeds of what's to come.

worried that thing you put in your art or writing or game or music is too self-indulgent, too self-referential, too niche for anyone but yourself? fear not! you can do whatever you want forever. and you should.
