my skam post having more than a 100 notes in the year 2024. i’m shocked but also i love to see that so many of us are still here in some way shape or form and still hold that experience close to our hearts because yeah, it truly was magical

So if you couldn't already tell from my queue coming to life... I'm back!

I took an accidental break from Tumblr & like so many folks, I decided to come back to this weird & wonderful corner of the internet with all the other corners being a lil more scary.

While I don't have the capacity to currently make GIFs, I am more than happy to chat all things Skam. I think I'll do a rewatch cause it's been too long & I'll catch up on remakes (look out for the rest of the shame in blogs starting up again when I do).

Nothing has ever (or will ever again) make me feel the way SKAM made me feel in 2016.

Maybe it’s because I was a 16-17 year old teenager watching other teenagers my own age go through daily struggles such as sexual harassment, sexuality crisis, loneliness, and depression, making me feel less alone with my own problems.

Maybe it’s the way the show is formatted, feeling the dopamine rush every time a new clip dropped instead of completely bingeing a new season as soon as it comes out, only to be left feeling empty after you’ve finished.

Maybe it’s the way we felt so connected to the characters. We didn’t change points of view. We got to know these characters on such a personal level, it felt like they were genuinely a part of my life.

Whatever it was, nothing has ever made me feel more at home than SKAM.

no you guys don’t understand how insane the skam experience was. if you weren’t in norway, you were literally waiting for one of the many norwegian angels to take the clips that dropped in real time on the skam site on a daily basis, and translate and upload them to a google drive so everyone else could watch them. i literally watched that show via google drive and it was all thanks to the regular fans who took the time to translate the clips so others could enjoy the show. a whole community was built via google drive. and then a whole universe was built with about eight different remakes of the show coming out of one little show that started in norway and was only meant to stay in norway.
