Hello there, my lovely anon! I definitely can do that - I really couldn't come up with solid ideas, so I admit to taking the lazy way out, so have a pretty comprehensive list on what type of Benders everyone would be in this AU! And guys, there are so many characters in Gintama so I swear it wasn't as easy and lazy as it looks! Thanks for sending in a request and I hope you'll enjoy!

Okay, so we're going into this AU with there being the four major bending types - Earth, Air, Fire and Water. Each bending type is as it is portrayed in Avatar: The Last Airbender, with people possessing different degrees of bending and different skills being present within each bending type.

So, when considering which type of Bender each character would be, I kind of broke it down into personality types and traits and qualities to look for, based on what I figure the 'stereotypical' Bender is for each of the four.

Earth Benders are a little rough around the edges, slow to anger, slow to decide on things, but stubborn once their mind is made up. They can be sensitive and they are often very patient.

Air Benders are gentle souls, respectful and adaptable, changeable. They're fast, both in their movements and in their thoughts.

Water Benders are typically calm and easy-going, flexible enough to adapt to their companions or situations. They're often quite easy to talk to and rather content with their lives.

Fire Benders are often prideful and confident individuals who are loyal, determined and ambitious. They can be very playful and fun but they often also have very short fuses on their tempers, which can be very volatile and explosive.

Keeping that in mind, this is what I figure the characters would be for Benders.

So, since I stepped into the Gintama x Digimon seiyuus realm, here have Daigo as Nobunobu because Namidai voices both~~  You know what else Daigo and Nobunobu have in common? They are both dead!! Isn't that amazing?

A Gintama chapter a day keeps the ending away...Lesson 432

MY 10 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN LESSON 432:

Moment 1: Ikumatsu looked pretty even as a ramen shop owner, but that kimono makes her look even more beautiful. Too bad Zura never gets to see her in it.

Moment 2: Discount Ikari should be happy they decided against using him as a surrogate for Ikumatsu’s dad...he’d be a bodyless sunglasses-wearing head.

Moment 3: Gintoki deserved that push for being totally vulgar.

Moment 4: I went from totally disliking Matsugorou for cheating on his wife to just feeling sad about him and the whole situation. 

Moment 5: I got all choked up during this moment. Just thinking of the guilt Daigo must have been experienced after finding out how Matsugorou’s one act of heroism led to the disintegration of his family just makes my heart HURT.

Moment 6: Heart hurt even more, especially since baby Ikumatsu was beyond adorable.

Moment 7: Crying again. We barely know Ikumatsu’s husband but my God did I already really like that guy and understand why Ikumatsu would want to stay a widow for him forever. It’s hard to get over such a good man.

Moment 8: Who would’ve though this old dude who has been around since...chapter 8, I believe...would end up being someone important? I love it when Sorachi-sama pulls tricks like this.

Moment 9: I just love this because the way these two goofballs eat bread crust is freaking weird. They’re sucking on it like sukonbou...I thought it was sukonbou until I remembered the chapter title.

Moment 10: “Zura-cchi”??

Zura x Ikumatsu: at this point I realized any love there from Zura would probably be unrequited for a while, but I’m not sure if I was all too torn up about it since she probably deserves a man with a more stable and safer profession than Joui terrorist. 

Disclaimer: Gintama is not only about shipping. Gintama is hilarious, clever, exciting, poignant, heart-breaking, loving, brilliant, and just so freaking amazing.  It is only due to Sorachi-sama’s generosity that I can enjoy Gintama on yet another level, the shippy level, and I am forever grateful for that. GINTAMA IS LIFE AND LOVE.

I realize that there are some parallels between these two couples. I want to talk about it because they are probably two of the most plausible hetero ships in Gintama and I love both of these ships so much, although I also ship Gintoki and Katsura with each other and other people (among everything, I even ship Gintoki/Shouyou and Katsura/ShigeShige; please don’t hate on me guys).

First Meeting

The first time both of these couples met, the women beat up the men (though for good reasons).

The next scene took place in the women’ home.

Then the bad guys who often came to the house to harass the women appeared. They demanded money or/and the women’ home (The loan sharks wanted the dojo while the evil brother-in-law wanted the ramen shop).

The women even had an awesome moment where they punched/slapped the bad guys in the face.

The men then defended the women.

Then the women were taken away by the bad guys to be sold.

And of course the men came to rescue them and solved their problems with the bad guys.

The story ended with the women seeing the men in a different light.

Relationship

There are also some similarities between Tae and Ikumatsu. Both women lost their parents and their first love (for Tae it’s Obi Hajime and for Ikumatsu it’s her husband Daigo). Both of them inherited a run-down place that they are determined to keep running (for Tae it’s the dojo, for Ikumatsu it’s the ramen shop). Both women also have strong relationship with their fathers.

My teacher once told me and my fellow students that guys should find a girl who loves her father, because if she respects her father, she will likely do the same with her husband. Likewise, girls were told to find a guy who loves his mother, because if he loves and respects his mother, he will do the same with his wife.

While this advice can certainly apply to Gintoki and Katsura (since both women love their fathers so much), I think it can also apply to Tae and Ikumatsu. Both men have strong relationship with their mother figures so they (mostly) respect women in general. While we don’t know much about Katsura’s relationship with his parents, he did have strong relationship with his grandmother, who was his only parental figure after both of his parents died. He kept his grandmother’s words to heart to this day and mentioned her in some scenes. And while it doesn’t look like it at first glance, Gintoki does have a strong relationship with Otose. He is really loyal and protective of her not only because of his promise to her dead husband, but because he genuinely cares for her like a son to his mother.

I think among Gintama hetero ships, these two couples have the highest chance to end up together in a long-lasting relationship in the future. And I don’t mind if that happens because I like both Tae and Ikumatsu (they’re awesome). They even have my favorite light-haired x dark-haired trope. Both couples have a domestic aura to them and honestly, I can picture them married with kids and living next door to each other (that would be hilarious).

Happy Birthday Akira Ishida! (Nov 2)

This is mostly taken from the post I made for him last year, but I added some roles and videos which are fun!

He’s a veteran voice actor who’s quite reserved. He’s so popular that he refuses roles but tries to not look rude. According to Aoi Yuuki, even though she recorded multiple scenes with Akira Ishida for Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou, she never talked to him. Sugita just replied, “It’s like that for everyone.” When some new girls were introducing himself, he just replied, “Ah, it’s fine, I’m not gonna remember anyway” Nakamura (who was there) said, “ He said that like he was rejecting them!” Even the Gintama cast (Rie Kugimiya and Sugita) had a hard time inviting him for udon after recording. And speaking of Gintama, when recording the Shinsengumi Crisis arc, a cast member asked him to bring him a coffee pod to which he responded, “Go to hell!” Ironically, that character later died that arc anyway. He doesn’t sing his character songs anymore since he doesn’t think it’s good enough for people to actually pay money for. But he can rely on his good friend Hoshi Souichirou; it’s even said that he won’t go to a party unless his friend is present. A lot of seiyuu look up to him including Miyuki Sawashiro, Sakurai Takahiro, Yuki Kaida, Masaya Onosaka, Aoi Shouta, and Mai Nakahara.

    Synopsis

  One spring day, a young, innocent couple sits side by side in a field. Expectations/Hopes for Our Future

Taichi needs to get punched/slapped by someone. Whether it’s a typical Yamato punch to the face because he did something stupid. Or Hikari slaps him, or Sora. I just want someone giving him a smack upside the head. He deserves it at this point. 

I would like to see Meiko take full charge. She’s done good in not running away from something only she can handle. She has said that Meicoomon needs to die in order for all of this suffering to end. But I am tired of seeing Yamato and Taichi come to her rescue. Let her be reckless,, it may actualy be the thing that saves the world. 

Hikari needs to take charge too. I want her to find her own way and not have anyone save her. She needs to take herself and Tailmon and take responsibility for her actions. No more dependent Hikari. I need to see badass Independent Hikari that will fuck people up. 

I want Myserious Man to die or get punched hard. I need my revenge for stealing Ken’s face and ruining his reputation. MM needs to go down one way or another. 

The 02 kids. I don’t care if it’s end credits cameos. Just please for the love of gaia show me them in color and I’ll take care of the rest. Headcanons and art and all. Just give me some kind of character design.  

Since Taichi has a spare pair of goggles , Give them to Meiko. It may be a different kind of courage and friendship she showed through tri. But she still had to have the courage to handle her dearest friends and partner, Meicoomon. Plus it’d be nice to have a goggle head girl for once too. 

I’d like to see both Meiko’s and Hikari’s Ultimates. But I’m thinking that’s not going to happen. But meicoomon as the balance of light and darkness, Tailmon being all light, it’d be cool to see combined powers of light to save the worlds. It may actually bee to soon of character for Meiko to evolve Meicoomon to Rasielmon anyway.. 

I want to see the other three Original Chosen. Whether its adults or as kids in a cameo with not lines. I’d be fine with that. Just complete the team. You already introduced two of what people were waiting so long for. 

Jou’s girlfriend. You teased us enough! Show us his girlfriend! Just confirm for us it’s bike girl from Diaboromon strikes back. Just confirm it already! 

This is more of a want than anything else. I want Sugita Tomozaku to voice a character in tri. Whether it’s Alphamon or someone else. I just want Sugitan to complete the list of Gintama character seiyuu that were also in Digimon. We have Ikuto(Kagura) and Hackmon!Appmon(Shinpachi). C’mon Toei, Complete the Yorozuya!

Happy Birthday Kenichi Suzumura!

Happy 45th birthday to Maaya Sakamoto’s husband Kenichi Suzumura! She’s the leader of his own agency that was named after his first single INTENTION. It employs talents like Nao Touyama and Takahiro Sakurai (and himself). Besides that, he’s an accomplished voice actor, singer, and actor. He has a troupe called AD-LIVE which is comprised of seiyuu that do ad-lib acting!

Weathering With You Reveals 2nd Trailer with New Theme Song, Poster Visual, Additional Voice Cast

    The official website for Makoto Shinkai's new anime feature film Tenki no Ko/Weathering With You has posted a two-minute second trailer introducing its new theme song "Grand Escape (Movie edit) feat. Touko Miura." As reported, Miura was chosen in the audition to find the female singer for the film's theme song that lasted a year, and spent two months for the recording under the direction of RADWIMPS' leader Yojiro Noda. In the end of the clip, another theme song, "Ai ni Dekiru koto wa Mada Arukai" by RADWIMPS, is also introduced.

      Following the "Sora (Sky)" version poster introduced last December, a "Hare (Sunny)" version poster visual was posted on the film's official Twitter.
