It always ends with Iwaizumi, Daichi, and Kuroo (who are the designated setter rescuers) on the way to the local station at 3am. Kuroo and Bokuto don't understand how their boyfriends, of all people, keep getting into this. When Oikawa calls Iwaizumi at 5am because "oh my god iwa they're going to make us do crack" he damn near has a heart attack. Iwa's out of bed in, like, a minute, and he finds Oikawa and Kageyama at a fucking bath house in Tokyo, of all places! And they're trashed! Kageyama's never been as scared for his life as he was on the drive back to iwaoi's apartment.

Sakusa expects it. Sakusa's pretty well aware that his boyfriend's awful and gets into weird shit. He draws the line at waking up with Osamu Miya in his bed. Or, at least, he thinks it's Osamu, because Atsumu dyed his hair fucking BLACK last night and didn't tell him! Atsumu's banished to the couch for two nights. Daichi prefers not to remember what Suga gets up to. But Suga makes it really, really hard when he comes home with a tramp stamp. "What?" You stare wide eyed at your lover, flabbergasted at his sudden proposal.

"Runaway with me," Daichi holds your hands in his, a twinkle in his dark brown eyes and a pleading smile on his lips, "just for the weekend. It'll be the two of us for a few days."

"I... I don't know, Daichi," Your eyes flicker nervously, heart thumping in your chest, "we've still got exams next week—plus, what about your club? They need their captain and—"

"In a week then." His smile softens in understanding when you look at him again.

"We've only got a few more days of school, and then its break. How about then? I'll pick you up and we can drive somewhere, just for the two of us," he leans his forehead against yours, noticing the warmth emanating from your skin, "just you and me..."

You take in a shaky breath, gazing back at him shyly.

"Alright..." You smile slowly, "in a week then."

His eyes crinkle when he smiles.

And so that's what you do. Just like Daichi said, after finishing the semester's exams, last few assignments and surprise pop quizzes, you were free for the next week.

And just like he said, on day one (and after some quick but efficient planning) he drove to your house to pick you up.

With a goodbye to your guardians, with packed bags and all, you were ready for a long drive somewhere to escape from it all—even if it was just for a little while.

"I can't believe that we're actually doing this," You say, still in mild disbelief whilst Daichi closes the back of the car.

"I don't know whether to feel worried or ecstatic."

"Why would you be worried?" He quirks up a brow, offended.

You laugh at his expression, cupping his face in your hands to give a small kiss before taking seat on the passenger side, your lover following in the driver's seat.

"I don't mean it like that. It's just... I don't know," You shrug, fiddling with a freying string on your top, "I just feel... stressed for some reason."

Daichi revs the engine playfully, "That's why," he gives you a boyish grin, "we're running away for a week."

Before setting the car in gear, he rests a hand on your knee, gently squeezing it to turn your gaze onto him. His eyes shine knowingly, and his smile is soft, his tone relaxed but assured.

"This is just for us, okay? Don't think about any of that. Not today, not tomorrow, or any day after. Relax your mind, baby," He hand moves upwards to squeeze your thigh gently.

"I'll take care of you," He gives you a sweet kiss before gingerly pulling away.

The beach was on your doorstep, the sun close to setting over the water's horizon.

The villa was quaint, but just enough for the both of you; it consisted of three rooms in total, the main room (also served as a living room), the master bedroom, and the bathroom. There was also a small kitchenette on the far side of the main room, just enough to make something small.

"It is, isn't it," Daichi winks at you, "but not as pretty as you."

"Cheesy!" You retaliate immediately, feigning disgust and squirming as your boyfriend traps you in his arms, "cheesy Daichi~" you giggle as he playfully scowls at you, tickling your sides.

"Well," He huffs out a laugh at you as you give him a look, making him hum lowly before tickling your neck with kisses, "you're stuck here with me for the next seven days. I don't think there's anything you can do about it."

You grin at him, worries long since forgotten, "In that case, you're lucky I like you then."

"Oh?" He pulls you closer into him, snaking his arms around your waist, "so you like me, huh?"

"I'm glad you like me," The male leans down slightly to give you a peck on the nose, "because I like you too."

The next few days (and nights) consist of you both exploring the beach and the nearby town at your leisure, often going out for lunch or dinner, and occasionally stopping for an easy breakfast in the mornings.

You also made sure to take a day for yourselves to be lazy and just relax in the villa, watching TV, and cozying up on the porch. You tossed around ideas together, though you were the more reserved of you both—but Daichi didn't mind, he liked to spoil you.

You brought out a more playful side of him ever since he found himself addicted to your little smiles.

"Now?" You, once again, look at your lover in stupor, "you want to go for a swim now?" Your boyfriend grins with a shrug.

"Yeah, why not?"

"Hmm..." You draw out an answer, not completely against the idea, but it was still fun to tease.

"I don't know... it's getting late, Daichi. What if there are sharks?"

"There aren't any sharks here, precious," Daichi laughs, "come on, just for a bit? We're gonna have to pack up in a couple days, and I want to make the most of it with you while I can.

He pouts, "Is that such a terrible thing to wish for?" He dramatizes his words causing you to roll your eyes, ears warming from the endearment.

You look off to the side, pondering for a moment before feigning indignation, sighing with a nod.

"Mmm, okayyy. I guess it wouldn't hurt."

"Yes!" He fist pumps victoriously, "come on—you get changed and I'll grab us some towels."

"The sun's almost set!" You call out to him as he heads off to the bathroom.

You shake your head with a smile when he calls back:

"I know!"

With a loose, semi-transparent cover up over your swimmers, you giggles unabashedly, racing down the sand to get to the water before Daichi reaches you.

"Gotcha!--" You yelp and shriek as you're lifted into the air, kicking when he picks you up by the waist, "--and you didn't want to come down here." Daichi says teasingly, noting your giddy demeanor.

"Yeah, well," You shrug idly, "I changed my mind."

You snort at his deadpan expression before reaching for him, "Come on, come on! You wanted to swim, right?"

You grab him by the arm, pulling him closer to the water's edge. You shiver as the cool evening water laps at the sole of your feet before slipping off your cover up and tossing it somewhere on the sand.

Despite having seen you like this before, Daichi can't help but feel his heart beat out of his chest each time, unable to stop his face from flushing and his ears turning an obvious red.

He was glad it was only the two of you this time, with the setting sun illuminating your figure—good god, he loves you.

You stiffen, feeling his bare chest press against your back, skin tingling at the contact. Ignoring your inner voice freaking the fuck out, you lean your head back against him, looking up to see him already watching you with adoring eyes.

Wading waist deep in the evening lit water, a comfortable silence settles over you as you watch the sunset; it's last few rays barely grazing atop the horizon.

You feel safe as his arms encase you, keeping you in place against him through the subtle waves.

You look up at him again shyly, but loving nonetheless.

"Thank you..." You murmur quietly, eyes fluttering, and his heart skips a beat.
