I'd imagine that Count Bleck is the primary source of comfort when those spells happen, like rocking him to sleep in his cape while singing a lullaby.

Dimentio is great at entertaining and making Baby Luigi smile, but I wager that he's no good at genuinely comforting Baby Luigi if his tricks fail.

Am I in the ballpark?

Actually, yes!

Dimentio’s forte is entertainment and distractions. He draws the eye and mind away with something else. One could argue he adapted a bit with his manipulations once he saw he was losing grips, but it remains self-serving. It’s all in gaining Luigi’s favor and having that hold on him as a result.

Count Bleck… this man lives and breathes sorrow since the day he lost Timpani. However awkward he is at the start, he sees a young child’s heart in pain, he tries to soothe it. This is what he wants to snuff out, this agony. And bonding with Luigi gave meaning and purpose to his goals again.

I love the idea of Luigi’s wardrobe having some more “dapper” apparel in it. Wanting emulate his Count/father plus he just looks good. But that wouldn’t be his only form of dress. Luigi is fully allowed freedom in clothing choice, having a broad variety of both formal and casual dress, along with more familiar overalls and dungarees for when he gets up to Mr. L’s mechanic work. Mimi is wholly responsible for the size and variety of Luigi’s closet, and teaching him how to have good taste in fashion.

Mr. L absolutely does exist albeit very differently in this. A “superhero” persona to hide his identity both for the protective reasons you listed, but also for Luigi to have versatility in going on both reconnaissance and combat missions and not be recognized. But another idea I’ve weaved into it is still incorporating magical interference. This Luigi grew up having learned the ability to act from both Mimi and Dimentio, so he knows how to play a convincing persona, but would still struggle with being able to follow through with hurting the heroes. Especially if he’s gotten to know them more from interacting with them on prior undercover missions.

Dimentio uses a combination of artful manipulations and secret spellcasting on Mr. L’s mask to get Luigi in the mindset/motivations to have actual malice toward them to follow through with disposing of their enemies. It ultimately fails however as Luigi’s own will and inner magic is able to override the spellwork.

Luigi just has that effect. You can’t not love him!

Nicknames! That’s really cute and a great way to set up angst for the messy truth coming out. I also created another for Dad!Bleck to use, “mon petit cœur” French endearment meaning “my little heart” (which, fitting for the themes of love and hearts; and I’m making Bleck fluent in French because guys, his character is the most dramatic, romantic and lovelorn in the French translation. Making Luigi trilingual in this au! He learned Italian from Dimentio :)… have fun with that).

Bruno struggled in the strange evil man's arms. He and had come to his and his sisters' papa's mansion while the sisters went with their mother. He was getting help from some of the other Boos and ghost while his papa took care of something in the meantime. All of a sudden a lot of Boo's started moving to one side of the mansion and covering their eyes and hiding.

Bruno, wanting to help his father's subjects, went to investigate. And he was met with this strange man (was he even a man?). He didn't know who he was or where he came from, but he didn't like him. As soon as the man made eye contact and saw Bruno flying around on his cloud, he snatched him off and has since been holding him.

Tears welled up in Bruno's eyes as he took in a deep breath, the strange man grumbling as he worked on something else. Bruno's breath hitched and the man looked at him angrily. "I told you to stop crying," he growled, and that's what broke Bruno's last straw.

He wailed. Loudly. Tears burst from his eyes and he cried. He didn't care if he looked like a baby, he just wanted his papa. "Papá!" He yelled, squirming more as tears continued to fall. The man looked at the boy, throwing his cape up.

"I told you to shut up!" He yelled and that only scared Bruno into crying more. He was only 6 years old, could you blame him? The evil man continued to berate the crying boy, and he only cried louder, still calling for his father.

"Your dad isn't here, so shut up!" The man yelled, and he snapped his fingers. A magic bind wrapped itself around Bruno'd mouth, and he scolded him for crying. Bruno stared in fear, but his eyes widened with hope as he felt the room temperature slowly drop.

The lights flickered, and there was laughing from the Boos and Gloops that inhabited the mansion. The strange man stopped yelling for a moment, whipping around as the room began to colder and colder. The lights all blew out, and the man finally turned to look fully behind him.

He saw a pair of legs, then looking up more, he saw him. The King Boo himself. And he looked furious. He had an icy stare, and there seemed to be a purple glow coming from him. The villain froze, his magic becoming weak and it released Bruno from the magic binds that held him and kept him quiet. The boy immediately dashed over towards his father, clutching his legs and he sobbed, doing his best to explain how the evil man was trying to hurt the other ghost subjects and how he just wanted to help but got in trouble. Pedro's eyes shifted to the boy, and they softened for a moment as he bent down to pick him up, hugging him tightly. Bruno climbed onto his father's back, staring down at the evil man with watery but fierce glowing green eyes. Pedro's eyes looked back at the man who stole his son and his face contorted back to the one of silent anger.

"What are you doing here?" Pedro asked, and the man stuttered, eyes full of fear. Pedro knew this man, he was an enemy, and an enemy to him and his family. 'Count Bleck' he called himself. He wasn't entirely sure what he was and he don't know what kingdom he was from, but he was sure of one thing---he was banned from any territory and kingdom owned by the Madrigal family. And he also knew that he told him the next he saw him he would kill him on the spot.

"I...I didn't know that was your son I..." Bleck stuttered, his shoulders dropped as he backed away. Pedro moved closer.

"Why does it matter? I thought I told you not to show your face again," Pedro smiled widely. "Did you think I was messing around? That I was joking?"

"No, I..." Bleck tried snapping his fingers, to escape, but it wouldn't work. He was paralyzed with fear, his magic wasn't working right.

"I told you if I saw you again I'd show you why I was named King of Boos," Pedro seethed, and he raised his hand, purple flames flaring up. Bleck jumped, and barely dodged a blast of fire. Pedro growled in slight annoyance as he fired another one, this time catching Bleck's cape on fire. Bleck screamed, stomping the fire out as he ran in a different direction.

Pedro moved slowly, easily covering more steps than Bleck. The other Boos within the mansion were present, jumping out at him, only scaring him more. Eventually, he was back against a wall, and Pedro charged another fire ball. "This should show you not to come near me or my son ever again," Pedro said darkly, and the fire rushed towards Bleck.

Just before it hit him, a white line boxed Bleck, then flipped, and he disappeared. There was hysterical laughing, and then silence. The purple flames died down, and Pedro scoffed. He got away again. He was lucky this time. He was lucky that stupid jester was there to help him, lest he would've been a dead man. But now that he was gone, he could properly check to see if his son was ok.

Pedro pulled Bruno from his back, holding the boy close and he turned, walking down the hall they were just in. "Are you okay mijo?" Pedro asked, and Bruno nodded, hugging his father closely.

"Yeah, I'm ok," he sniffled, clutching his father's shirt. "I'm glad you came, I was scared. He said he wanted to take my power. Cuz I'm half Boo and half Koopa."

Pedro sneered, hugging his son a bit tighter. Of course Bleck was only after his power. That was the case last time, though in that scenario he was after Pedro himself, and he hadn't even been aware of his triplets. Now he knew. Which meant Pedro would have to keep a closer eye on them. Not that he minded, but it did still make him angry that he was after his kids to begin with.

"Well it's alright now," Pedro said, smiling down at Pedro. "Papá will be right here to protect you, no matter what," he said, and Bruno smiled back, snuggling closer to his dad as the man walked. Pedro swore he wouldn't let the boy out of his sight for the next month.

SPM AU I want to share with y’all

I may or may not turn this into a fic, anyway

Okay so I have this au where there’s a magic stone (great story place holder I know) and if it’s triggered then all the family of the person/people who triggered it get INSTANTLY warped to that person (alive/animate of course, specified animate because like the undead or whatever) anyway the villains, which I’m going to refer to as the gang

The gang finds this stone and they all accidentally trigger it. So now they have to defeat/fight the heros, keep the void in tact, and deal with their family. And for the family I’ve mostly focused on parents.

And siblings

Like, imagine Mimi going to fight the hero but having to drag two older brothers around with her because they insisted to go and snuck with her when the gang said they couldn’t. Or Dimentio having to take care of a bratty younger sister that’s deadly and demanding

Meaning your chance to catch a glimpse of her is at night when you’re supposed to be sleeping, or when a family member forces her to stop hiding. She does it all the time now, doesn’t want people to see what she looks like, so good luck trying.

She/Her, around toddler age (well, a few hundred years old, but where she’s from time is different)

Her abilities consist of: Turning invisible, opening portals, flipping dimensions, using magic to lift things up, and spinning around like a dreidel shooting darts.

I have so many random AU ideas for your AU. Like,

1. Dimentio and Merlova either aren't attacked or they escape the attack, so Eirian and Aldus are never discovered to be human. Bonus points if Dim gets to flirt with his cute purple friend.

2. Merlova dies but someone shows up and Dimentio does not get sent away and makes it home. Could go either way with Eirian and Aldus are discovered as human, or they're not.

3. The attack happens like usual, but it only takes Dimentio about a year to remember how to get home and now has to deal with the after effects of what happened to Aldus and Eirian. Suppose some purple flirting could happen here too.

i think maybe...his father did SOMETHING to piss off the mafia. he was IN the mafia and got cold feet and tried to leave, or he reported them to police and got found out, idk. either way the mob tried to erase the entire family for it and Dim just barely survived with that scar (there was probably so much blood on his face the murderers assumed he was dead or something). because Dim’s dad was ex-mafia the police didn’t really feel inclined to help him too much, so they threw Dim in an orphanage. He probably got picked up by the AU equivalent of the Shadow Queen, who is still terrible and probably adopts kids for show, and he either got kicked out for causing trouble or ran away because she sucks. Lived on the street for a little while as a teenager, finding his way around. Then Bleck picked him up.

OKOKOK so !! basically the premise of this au (still haven’t found a name for it, its been a year now <3) is what if olly and olivia were actually able to grow up together and be siblings before everything in the game happened. basically they were both folded for an origami festival but it isn’t the same one as the game, it’s years before the events of the game (i think of the festivals as kind of a yearly event that they participate in together!!! they have a lot of fun every year) and they’re like. best friends. they’re inseparable. its just,,, good happy sibling moments before everything goes to shit in the main game <3 and also origami craftsman good dad moments!!!! they’re just a happy little family until olly decides to take over the entire fucking kingdom (i’m working on a better motive for him because it wouldnt work with this story anyway and also fuck nintendo) but this makes for a lot more impactful moments because olly and olivia actually have a relationship instead of just “we were born today and have no idea what is going on but i guess we’re siblings” and i think that’s very epic of me. its essentially “pmtok but if i was in charge of the story” and i love it more than anything. also sort of an "everyone lives and has character development" au also <3 bobby lives and gets to interact with olivia more and the other partners, the los live AND get to interact with each other and olly, im thinking like. intermissions between chapters that show olly and the los interacting like the ones with team bleck in spm!! i really use this as a way to build more character dynamics and a more expansive story in general, but the main focus has always been olly and olivia, theyre my whole world <3

Main roles:

King Boo and E. Gadd’s main role

- E. Gadd makes a mechanical repair team out of Bowser and King Boo.

- King Boo has 2 forms, the human vessel, and the normal boo form.

- Everyone knows about King Boo's leadership and him getting dethrone.

- King Boo's deals w/ the knowledge of some of his people being trapped into and has to deal with the time being.

- E. Gadd makes one deal with King Boo that for every 100,000 dollars the company made, he would let one of the portrait ghosts.

- King Boo is stuck with E. Gadd, not able to be taken out of the Mushroom Kingdoms limit unless E. Gadd is close by. King Boo main task is to get his people out of the paintings, E.Gadd main task is to get cash.

Bowser’s main role

Bowser is an only dad with a biological son, Bowser Jr., and seven adopted kids (the Koopa kids)

Bowser is the only one to apply to this job besides a toad that had to leave at the last second.

He also carries many other jobs.

Bowser lives in a pretty ok house with 4 bedrooms.

Bowser is very caring for King Boo at times when needed.

Bowser teaches King Boo how to do a lot of things, main one is repair

Bowser’s main task is to have a nice life with his family and to carry the company in a way.

Mario and Luigi’s main role

I guess they rule over lands but is that really bower's and king boo's issue?nah, it's not but I feel like egadd would still put them up to the task anyway, so fuck it

they are pretty normal leaders, they can be bad or good

their leadership is pretty cruel still, Luigi is Autocratic while Mario wants them to still be somewhat happy

Cackletta and Fawful’s main role

Cackletta is now the queen of the Beanbean Kinddom with her side is Fawful, they both want was best for themself and the other beanish people. Cackletta doesnt dislike Peasley’s family, rather, doesnt want any issues in the Kingdom.

Peasley’s main role

Pealsey takes the role of taking over the Beanbean Kingdom for his mother and elder metor. He has a strong dislike for the heros of the world but a even stronger one for Cackletta.

The Princesses role

Peach and Daisy take the roles of the bad guys, Peach oftens kidnapped Bowser's kid to hang out with him and Mario for things that she needs like cakes and clothes. Daisy sometimes help Peach.

Just a gal that lives her life in no fear, she will beat some ass if needed but deep inside, she’s still the sweet Peach well all know.

Daisy:

A pretty nice gal that's smart, she like to show off her power to her foes and loves a challenge. 

Prince Luigi:

A snarky, arrogant and opinionated dude thats power hungry, he tends to hide his real, honset personality behind a big false ego. 

King Mario:

A nice dude that likes that doesn't hate anyone in a way, a very smart gentleman that doesnt think highly of himself.

Prince Luigi:

He wears a formal royal suit with a ruffled collar thing, white buttons with a hints of green. He’s right eye is missing, cover over with a wraps over his head and half of his body. He’s hair runs down to his shoulders.

King Mario:

He still looks like himself but without the hat. He wears a coat with a huge fur hood, the coat being red while the fur is white.

Peach:

She wears her hair in a ponytail, wears pink pants and a white tank top most of the times. She also sometimes will wear a green koopa shell for armor and style.

Daisy:

She looks the same but just wearing a less formal dress.

Lo siento, por favor. I unfortunately don’t know a lot of Spanish, but I hope the translator I used wasn’t too inaccurate and I’ll answer as best I can from the results!

Luigi being the ideal host to the Chaos Heart has always been a fascinating lore piece in SPM. There’s so much to unpack with this information, yet so much of the prophecy’s hows and whys are left a mystery. What DOES make Luigi the perfect vessel? Why would these dark relics choose him?

For the paper mario series, we see Luigi being sidelined, belittled and jealous for being benched to housesit in Paper 64 instead of joining Mario on the adventure, then in TTYD, Luigi gets his chance to go on his own adventure off-screen and is a bit of a braggart retelling his stories to his brother. Embellishing details to appear cooler to which his battle partners will chime in with what “really happened”. And taking in events from other games that proceeded SPM’s release (I’m aware Nintendo canonized the paper games being in a separate universe; but seeing as imo that was a stupid ass writing choice, I’m ignoring that retcon both for canon and for the au), such as Super Star Saga, there’s we have even more fuel for Luigi being mistreated and looked down upon that worsen Luigi’s anxiety and insecurities.

There’s a lot of ammunition in place for setting up Luigi turning to the dark side if really pushed, but despite it all, Luigi remains a good guy who does the right thing. In Paper 64, Luigi writes in his diary admitting he’s jealous of his brother, but still adores and thinks the world of him. In TTYD, he wants to impress Mario with his tales of his adventures in the Waffle Kingdom and be recognized for his feats, yet when his adventures become a published bestselling book, Luigi is still surprised so many people were interested in it. In him.

Luigi is a good person with a good heart, but the dismissals and mistreatment still eat away at him. The festering negative emotions that have been kept bottled up warring against his kindness would cause lots of inner conflict. The resulting, growing instability in his heart and soul from this being quite… chaotic in nature.

Now come SPM, Luigi is no longer a side character, but a main character. Although a lot of his screen time is spent brainwashed and/or hypnotized, then later mind controlled. As Mr. L, Luigi is more reckless, brash, rude, and arrogantly confident in this alter. Since Nastasia’s powers are described as both “brainwashing” and “hypnosis”, two very different things, it’s uncertain how much of Mr. L is a fabricated identity versus how much of him is actually sourced from Luigi’s subconscious. Regardless, Luigi’s psyche is put through the wringer on this adventure as he falls victim to the villains’ control in the beginning and then again for the final battle.

In the Dad Bleck!AU, the circumstances are very different. Luigi is heavily sheltered growing up in the castle with very restricted access to what he could learn about and experience in the worlds beyond. All his life, he’s been told about the Plan to create a better multiverse, one without pain or sadness, and that one day he’ll get to be a part of it too. Luigi’s insecurities form from his failures trying to prove himself to the Count that he’s ready sooner than he is and wanted to be treated as more of an equal now that he’s an adult by his overprotective family. Later on, Luigi is thrust into a greater crossroads as he’s not only faced with new information and situations that have him questioning the “evil” of who’s supposed to be his/his family’s enemies, but also comes to realize his adoptive family hasn’t been fully honest with him about the Plan and their intentions. Making him torn between his loyalties, feelings and morality. An equally chaotic concoction.

Onto your idea with the Dark Prognosticus itself also claiming Luigi as its owner/wielder, that’s a cool interesting idea. What’s intriguing about both the Dark Prognosticus and the Chaos Heart is that while they’re predominantly heralded as artifacts of causing mass destruction… they are also noted to have the power to create. The knowledge and magic of the Dark Prognosticus was what was studied/utilized in creating the Pixls, and likely other things, then you have multiple mentions of the Chaos Heart’s power being capable of creating entire new perfect worlds/reality to replace the previous ones its power destroyed.

Getting into the idea of both artifacts also being sentient in some capacity and seeking the final component to making themselves “complete” (Luigi being the body/vessel/host to conduct their power to the fullest). Both seem to require a wielder and cannot exert the full extent of their powers independently themselves; the book and the heart are able to influence and corrupt others with their presence on their own, levitation, but not much beyond that without a wielder. The Dark Prognosticus in particular reads very parasitic in how it corrupts its wielders with its might. And perhaps this is the result of those past wielders on account of them not being that “ideal host” were insufficient matches to properly command their power. Then when it comes to the case of Super Dimentio, while Luigi bonds/merges with the Chaos Heart and Dimentio, Dimentio is still the only wielder of it while Luigi is puppeteered by him via the Floro Sprout. Creating the idea that if Luigi was the one in control voluntarily wielding it, he and the artifacts would be unstoppable.

A horrific idea that’s been playing on my mind for the Dad Bleck!AU is despite the bittersweet but ultimately happy ending I have entailed… the adventure wouldn’t be over by the end. The Dark Prognosticus is stated to have “faded back into history” after reality got fixed, but not that it was destroyed. The Purity Heart may have destroyed the Chaos Heart, but so long as the Dark Prognosticus exists, the Chaos Heart could still be brought back.

Say the Dark Prognosticus found its way into Luigi’s possession and tries its compelling influence to get him to bring the Chaos Heart back and finish what they started? The only way to stop it is to figure out how to destroy the book, but how?

Alternatively… could Luigi harness their power as his own if he does without being enslaved to their artifacts’ whims as the King of Chaos you described?

 Okay so Imma just gonna explain a whole bunch stuff from this Au because Imma make more art soon to revive the deadness:

Story:

 Alright, Fiction Fronteir was a peaceful place, where anyone could be anything and people would be happy. A threat w as found. Black Hat. He had caused ALOT of crimes, chaos and such. In defense, a group of heroes rose, and banished Black Hat(and his companions) to deep deep within the Mountain, using power, magic, and the most cliche thing of all. Friendship. After that, security became air tight. People who committed one single crime, last or present, were thrown underground, until a whole world was made. Now, Black Rules over them, and he ain't a bad king hes just try to get revenge on the heroes who threw him down. Anyways, a chap falls to the Undergound, NO recollection of how he got there, only remembers his name and that he needs to go back.

 Okay so, roles/explanations:

Flowey - Dimentio/Dean: A Mask embodied with magic, who talks to Newton. He's currently pretending to be a lost mask who needs to be taken back to his owner. Which is kinda true but he's evil so yeah. Thrown down for attempting to make a black hole.

Frisk - Newton: A strange chap who wound up in the Underground World, he now seeks a way out, helping(or hurting) people along the way) Now, he's in the Underground, so he's there for a reason...

Toriel- Flug: No. He is not a husband/dad. He was the very first Head Scientist, but is now retired and living in the ruins.  Thrown down to the Underground for association with Black Hat.

Sans - Rain: A lazy, but friendly person, Rain is a retired hero. The reason why she got here? Apparently trying to defend a friend who may have done some bad things makes you a criminal.

Papyrus; Bill: An energetic, but very stubborn human looking guy, who keeps telling people he's a demon. He controls blue fire, which doesn't burn if you don't move. Thrown done for past deeds as Bill Cipher

Undyne - Saimon: A general/Bounty hunter who makes sure that nothing goes wrong. She controls spears, and she doesn't have magic but Jasper helps her with it so she can't complain. Has a crush on Ima, who isn't aware. Thrown down because as a bounty hunter, you kill people.

Alphys - Glados/Ima: GlAdOS is Black Hat's most trusted inventor, who interrogated those who disobey and invents new inventions. Ima, is a scientist who experiments with the inventions, improves some of them, check she's even made a few of her own! While GlAdOS is cruel and cold, Ima seems like a real freindly person. Ima actually looks up to GlAdOS, and treats her with respect. GlAdOS was thrown because of experimentation on a human female, Ima because she's done some really terrible things that made people think shes unstable.

Mettaton - Wheatley: Another creation by GlAdOS, she kinda regrets it. Heatley is kind of a reporter, and runs a talk show. Now, he absolutely HATES being called a moron so if you do he will hurt you. He was invented after Glados was thrown down, so he doesn't even know there's above. 

Napstablook - Nastasia/Bleck: Nastasia is a calm person who lives with Bleck, a sad count who lost the love of his life. While Bleck was thrown down for trying to save his love, Nastasia JUMPED down because of loyalty. They usually read books or watch butterfly races. Nastasia is basically a friend aho wants to cheer up a sad friend.

Muffet - Mimi: A stingy and greedy girl who shaoeshifts to con people. If you refuse her though, shell due everything she can to convince you that YOUR wrong, YOUR the bad guy. Thrown down for conning people.

Gaster - Marima: The missing part, separated. It wants to become whole again. It has a HUGE mental connection to Ima.

Asgore - Black Hat: The ruler of The Underground, thrown done for multiple crimes. He's very cruel to those who cross him, but he seems pretty decent when it comes to being a king.

Chara - Evil Newton: A deep dark demon Newton jas, it seems to know why he's here. Sometimes takes control, and even though the physical differences are small, his personality changes drastically.

 "Can I go downstairs, Dad?" the Nice One's child has been pestering him all morning, "Please? It's nearly nine o'clock! And I think I left my pirate hat downstairs."

The Nice One smiles sleepily at his daughter and chuckles.

"Alright, Kid," he mumbles, "I'll be down in a minute."

"Okay! Love you, Dad!" she gives him a hug before rushing off downstairs.

 She's been wanting to go downstairs and play pirates all morning! She'd left her hat in the kitchen by accident the night before, and had paid the price in boredom.

Excitedly, she hurries down the hallway, through the living room and towards the kitchen. Abruptly, she stops outside the kitchen door, seeing The Scary One. He's leant heavily against the fridge with his head in his hands.

He seems distressed.

The small child dithers nervously in the doorway, weighing up her options. She knows that she should go back upstairs; her dad has told her repeatedly that she is, under no circumstances, be alone with him. But he looks so...upset. 

 Suddenly, it hits her. His has been gone for a whole month now... She's never liked him very much, but she wants to comfort him. She knows - to some extent - what he's feeling. She misses the one in the dark grey too.

  Cautiously, she enters the kitchen.

"Um...Good morning," she greets him anxiously. He raises a hand in a wave, covering his face with the other.

"Are...Are you okay?" 

"No," he mumbles.

She tenses and un-tenses her fingers, not knowing what else to say.

"I...I'm sorry," she says.

She quickly rushes over to the counter, grabs her pirate hat, and dashes out again. 

 As she exits the kitchen, she hears him let out a sob. She stops - she can't just leave him. She places the pirate hat down and then turns around, re-entering the kitchen.

She stares at him silently, searching her mind for a way to help. 

 "...I miss her too," she says quietly. He glances up from the floor, and suddenly gives her a tearful smile.

"She r-really enjoyed playing with you, ya know," he tells her.

"Did...Did she tell you that?"

"All the time," he chuckles, "Was f-forever telling me how much she preferred you and yours to me."

"I liked playing with her too," she replies. She can feel tears welling in her eyes as she reminisces on their many games of pirates. They'd spend hours pretending the sofa was a pirate ship...And that hers was an evil pirate...That wasn't too difficult to imagine.

"Aw kid - d-don't...don't cry," he mumbles.

"I miss her so much," she sobs, covering her face.

"Me too..."

 Suddenly, the small child throws her arms around him in a hug. He freezes, hesitating for a moment before eventually hugging her back. Usually he wouldn't - he doesn't like her any more than she likes him - but it hurts.

He holds her close, gently stroking her hair - perhaps just from habit. She feels almost the same as his. More tears escape his eyes.

He misses that brat more than words can express.

  The Nice One hurries downstairs, now up and dressed. It's taking her an awfully long time for her to get her pirate hat.

"Kid?" he calls out to her as he enters the living room, not seeing her.

He suddenly catches sight of her in the kitchen, hugging the crazy one. Biting his lip anxiously, he quickens his pace.

As he opens his mouth to scold her about disobeying his rule, he notices that both of them are crying. Concerned, he decided to halt his lecture.

"Are you okay?"

The Scary One abruptly releases her, drying his tears hurriedly. The child in the blue hoodie rushes over to her dad, who scoops her up in his arms.

"What's wrong, sweetie?"

"I miss his me," she clings to her father, sobbing into his shoulder.

"I miss her too," he replies quietly, hugging her close.

 He looks up at his crazier self, who is wringing his hands in a maddening manner. The Scary One turns his back to them. The kind one puts his daughter down and walks over to the violent one.

Gently, he puts a hand on his shoulder and turns him around.

"Sorry," the Scary One mumbles, "I didn't think..."

"Hey, it's okay," the Nice One replies, "You're downstairs early."

"I can't stand it in that room," the crazy one mutters, "Her bed's just RIGHT there...It's - never mind." He cuts himself off, looking back at his nicer self.

His kinder self gives him a look of sympathy.

"You're not wearing your lab coat today," the Nice One's kid comments.

"I'm not?" He looks down at himself to see that she's right, "Oops."

The Scary One turns around to grab his cup of coffee off the side. Taking a sip, he smiles a little.

"Ah, fuel," he mumbles.

 The kind one chuckles at his more dramatic self.

"I'll have some 'fuel' too," the Nice One says, going to make himself a cup, "Want some water, sweetie?"

The kid nods.

 A few moments of silence pass before the kind one turns back around, handing his daughter a drink.

"Thanks, Dad."

"You're welcome, sweetie."

The Scary One watches, quietly continuing to sip his coffee. He finds himself looking at her...whose wisps of hair, and whose chocolate brown eyes...look almost just like his kid's did. He takes another sip, trying to swallow the lump in his throat. 

"Bleck!" he cries out, glaring disgustedly at his cup of coffee. It had gone cold, "Ugh - I hate cold coffee..." As he tips it away, a realisation dawns on him. He sets his cup on the side and turns to face the nice ones.

"Ya know," he says, "I haven't been told that I'm hated for a whole month," he smirks as tears come to his eyes.

 The Nice One casts his daughter a warning look, willing her not to say what he knows she wants to.

"You don't think you'll miss THOSE three words," the Scary One chuckles, "...Maybe it was just hearing it daily."

He runs a hand through his hair, lowering his head.

"S-she'll be loving this," he laughs.

He looks up at the Nice One, still grinning widely with amusement despite his tears.

"It's...probably what she would have wanted," the kind one chuckles sympathetically.

"Yep. She was a r-real spiteful little brat, huh?"

 The Scary One's smirk slowly fades as he stares blankly at the floor. He feels so...empty without her. Being crazy was no fun without someone to be crazy with.

"Hey?" The crazy one looks up, hearing his gentler self.

"I think this is the longest I've ever seen you go without refilling your coffee cup," the kind one jokes.

The Nice One looks back at his scarier self as he musters a half-hearted smile. More tears slip down his face as he struggles to remain smirking.

 "...Need a hug?"

The Nice One is slightly taken aback by how quickly his psychotic self throws his arms around him. After quickly regaining his balance, he returns the embrace, hugging the crazy one tightly. He can feel him trembling in his embrace.

"Thanks, Shoulder Angel," the Scary One whispers, a small smile returning to his face, "You're the best."

The kind one chuckles at the compliment; one he often receives from the crazier version of himself. 

 Just as he is about to pull away from the hug, he feels his daughter throw her arms around them both.

"Group hug!" the Scary One declares eagerly. He returns the child's embrace with one arm, prompting his kinder self to follow.

"Group hug," the kind one confirms with an amused smile.

 A few moments later, the trio break apart. The crazy one quickly wipes his tear-stained face before picking up his coffee cup from the side.

"Want a cup too, Shoulder Angel?"

"Yes please," the Nice One replies, "Thanks."

 The Scary One hands his kinder self a mug of freshly made coffee.

"Aah," he takes a sip of his own cup, "Nice and hot."

"I swear, we basically live off caffeine," the gentle one laughs.

"Yep!" the psychotic one agrees with a smirk, "Caffeine and cuddles."

yeah i can see that. I actually drew some doodles today and it included this:

Mario holding a sleeping child SD and just like “they’re cute when they aren’t trying to kill us” 

Peach hugging an actually stable SD and being like “this is a child, I will protect them” she went mother mode

SD grabbing Bleck’s cape and dragging it around

Mimi gave them candy(That is not good, giving them sugar won’t end well)

and i also drew them having a hissy fit heh, so who’s more of a dad, Bleck or Mario? probs Mario since Peach is like a mother in a way lol i love this au so much

I was talking with a friend about Luigi and said he’s cute no matter what even as Mr. L, then Super Dimentio was mentioned, so I decided to accept the challenge to make him cute and so he is now a child? AU where he’s a child and both Team Mario and Team Bleck have to take care of him until they can split the two of them up? yeah we’ll go with that
