Lazy Days In
WARNINGS: sickenly cute and fluffy. Dad Spencer with his adorable family... tried to give the kids some some personality and being supportive of each others hobbies/interests
requests are open
The sun streamed through the kitchen window, casting dappled patterns across the table where a small mountain of Lego bricks, scattered drawings, and half-eaten toast coexisted in a chaotic harmony. Spencer Reid, a man whose intelligence rivaled his son’s towering Lego creations, stood at the sink, rinsing off a plate while humming a tune that was a mix of classical and some catchy children's song.
“Hey, Spence,” you called from the living room, where the sound of clattering toys and giggles filled the air. “Can you bring me the—”
“Dinosaur?” he interrupted, a teasing lilt in his voice. He turned, a dish towel slung over his shoulder, his deep brown eyes sparkling with mischief. “Or should I get the princess crown for Diana?”
You chuckled, glancing over your shoulder to see your oldest, Diana, spinning in circles with a sparkly tiara atop her head. “Definitely the crown for our little princess,” you replied, grinning.
“Got it!” He finished rinsing the plate and walked over, his long legs making quick work of the distance. He plopped the crown onto Diana’s head with a flourish. “Your Highness, may I present your royal Lego castle?”
Diana clapped her hands, a high-pitched squeal escaping her lips. “Yay! Daddy, you’re the best!”
“Not as good as your mother, of course,” he added, winking at you.
Your heart swelled. Spencer wasn’t just a brilliant mind; he was the kind of dad who made every day feel like magic. “Okay, King Spencer, time to get our little dinosaurs wrangled. Avery needs some attention before she turns into a T-Rex herself.”
With a laugh, Spencer moved to the playpen in the corner of the room, where Avery, their youngest, was propped up with a plush dinosaur. She babbled happily, her round cheeks squished against the soft fabric. “Rawr!” she squealed, waving her tiny arms.
“Look, everyone!” Spencer exclaimed, crouching down to Avery’s level. “We have a fierce dinosaur here! What do we do when a dinosaur is loose in the house?”
“Run!” shouted Gideon, your five-year-old, who was currently building a fortress of Legos, his dark hair falling into his eyes.
“Or feed it!” Diana added, twirling again, her tiara sparkling in the sunlight.
“Excellent ideas!” Spencer said, pretending to look worried. “But I think we should feed it some very special food.” He picked up a rubber dinosaur from Avery’s playpen and held it up dramatically. “How about this? A delicious, squishy, organic dino!”
Gideon burst into laughter, a sound that always warms your heart. “Dad, that’s not real food!”
“Are you sure?” Spencer asked, giving the dinosaur a thoughtful look. “It’s a very nutritious rubber dinosaur. Packed with vitamins!”
The laughter in the room was infectious, echoing off the walls of your cozy home. You couldn't help but join in, your laughter mingling with the children's joyful noises.
“Okay, how about we feed Avery some actual food instead?” you suggested, wiping tears of mirth from your eyes. “Spencer, you take care of that while I get lunch ready?”
“Sure! Avery, what do you say to a feast fit for a dinosaur?” Spencer said, reaching into the fridge for some mashed bananas, the perfect dino snack.
With Avery happily munching and your other children immersed in their games, you slipped into the kitchen, the familiar scent of peanut butter and jelly filling the air. As you spread the sticky substance on bread, you glanced back at Spencer. He was making silly faces at Avery, who was giggling and smearing bananas across her tiny mouth.
“Mommy!” Diana cried, her voice cutting through the lighthearted chaos. “Can we have a royal picnic after lunch?”
“A picnic?” you echoed, pausing mid-spread. “What a wonderful idea! We can set up blankets in the backyard!”
“Can we have dinosaurs and Legos at the picnic?” Gideon asked, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
“Of course! We can have a dinosaur picnic!” you agreed, grinning at their enthusiasm.
“Rawr!” Avery squealed again, her little hands reaching for more bananas.
“Rawr!” Spencer echoed, making her laugh once more. “I think we have a dino expert right here!”
“Dino expert!” Avery repeated, clapping her hands together.
After lunch, you all gathered supplies for the picnic. The kids raced around the house, gathering their favorite toys, while Spencer and you laid out blankets in the sun-drenched yard. The backyard was your little paradise, with colorful flowers blooming, their sweet fragrance wafting through the air, and the sound of birds chirping in the trees.
“Okay, everyone! Are we ready for the royal dino picnic?” you announced, spreading the blankets out under a large oak tree.
“Yay!” The kids cheered in unison, their voices ringing out like a chorus of joy.
As you settled down, Diana arranged her princess dolls next to Avery’s dinosaurs, while Gideon built a Lego fortress to protect them all from imaginary storms. In a matter of moments, laughter filled the air as they played their games, and you took a moment to just watch, heart full.
Spencer laid back on the blanket beside you, his head resting on his hands, a soft smile on his face. “This is nice,” he said, glancing over at you.
“It really is,” you agreed, leaning back on your elbows.
“Do you think we could do this every weekend?” he asked, his tone casual but laced with sincerity.
“Every weekend sounds perfect,” you said, your heart fluttering at the thought of endless afternoons like this.
Spencer turned his head, propping himself up on one elbow to look at you more intently. “You know, I’ve been thinking…”
“Uhoh. That usually means trouble,” you teased, raising an eyebrow.
He chuckled softly, shaking his head. “No, really. I mean, we’ve been so happy with the kids, and I know we’ve talked about it before…”
“What?” you prompted, curiosity piqued.
“Having another baby,” he said, his voice lowering slightly as if he were revealing a secret.
Your heart raced. “You want to have another baby?”
“Yeah,” he said, his gaze earnest. “I mean, if you’re okay with it. I’d love to have as many kids as you want. As many as you can give me.”
“Spencer, that’s a big decision,” you replied, feeling a mixture of excitement and hesitation. “We already have four!”
“I know,” he said, his voice softening. “But look at these three. They’re amazing, and I love being a dad. I could do this forever.”
You smiled, imagining another little one crawling around the house, adding to the beautiful chaos. “You really think we could handle another?”
“I think we could handle anything together,” he said, reaching for your hand, intertwining your fingers.
Before you could respond, Gideon interrupted, his voice loud and filled with the seriousness only a five-year-old could muster. “But Daddy, you already ate like a dinosaur! You can’t eat another one!”
Spencer burst out laughing, the sound light and contagious. “I didn’t eat a dinosaur! I just had lunch!”
“Then how are you going to have another baby?” Diana chimed in, her brow furrowed in concentration.
“Uh…” Spencer stammered, glancing at you for help.
You bit back a laugh, shaking your head. “It’s not about eating dinosaurs, sweetheart. It’s about love and family.”
“Oh!” Diana said, her face brightening. “So we can just love the baby?”
“Exactly!” you replied, beaming at her.
Baby Victoria gurgled in agreement, her tiny hands reaching for Spencer's face, eager for attention as she roused from her nap.
“Does that mean we can have more toys?” Gideon asked, his eyes wide with hope.
“More toys and more love,” Spencer confirmed, his gaze lingering on you, warmth radiating from his expression.
“I want a sister who likes princesses,” Diana declared, her tone matter-of-fact.
“And a brother who likes dinosaurs!” Gideon added quickly, nodding emphatically.
“Why not both?” Spencer suggested, a playful grin spreading across his face. “A little sister who’s a princess-dinosaur hybrid!”
“That’s silly!” Diana squealed, laughing.
“Yeah! But also awesome!” Gideon chimed in, joining in the laughter.
You watched them, your heart swelling with love and laughter. The air around you buzzed with joy, and for a moment, everything felt perfect.
“Okay, how about we make a deal?” you proposed, a playful glint in your eye. “If we have another baby, you two promise to help out and be the best big siblings ever?”
“Deal!” they shouted in unison, their excitement palpable.
As Spencer leaned in closer, wrapping an arm around your shoulders, you felt a wave of contentment wash over you. The idea of another child filled you with warmth, and the laughter of your children echoed in your mind like a sweet melody.
“Looks like we’ll have to start planning,” Spencer said, his voice low and teasing, his eyes sparkling.
“Planning? What do you mean?” you asked, feigning innocence.
“Well, I suppose we need to make sure I’m not eating dinosaurs anytime soon,” he shot back with a grin.
You burst into laughter, the sound mingling with the playful chaos of your children. “No more dinosaur snacks for you, then!”
“Rawr!” Spencer replied, mimicking a dinosaur once more, prompting another round of giggles from the kids.
As the sun began to dip lower in the sky, casting a golden hue across the yard, you knew that whatever the future held, you would face it together—one dinosaur, one princess, one Lego builder, and one tiny baby at a time.

I've wanted to make recommendation lists for a while but wasn't sure if anyone would actually be interested. Long story short I just want to know if anyone would be interested in rec lists and what kind of fics you would want to see in them. 💗

This is a masterpiece
Omg wait these blurbs got me feral for dad Spencer!!! I need one with Spencer and the first time his toddler throws a tantrum or misbehaves
Spencer always insists on doing naptime and bedtime when he's home. It's his chance to read to Matilda, which she loves since she can hold the book because he knows all the words.
Today is no different, except for the fact she's very overtired after spending the day walking around the museum.
Since she was born, you've always been alert to her crying, like the natural instinct, so when you hear her screaming her lungs out, you jump off the couch and rush to her room.
She's standing by the bookshelf, half a dozen books thrown on the floor while she has red cheeks and heavy tears flowing out of her eyes. She's crying inconsolably like something's dramatically wrong in her 2-year-old world.
Spencer holds his hands up in confusion when you enter, clearly also having no clue what was going on.
He squats down next to her. "Sweet girl, what's going on?"
"I can't-" She sobs, hyperventilating. You'd rush in to help, but he's got it handled.
He takes the book out of her hand, placing it gently onto the bookshelf. The books laying on the floor so carelessly are probably killing him, but Matilda's the only thing that's important. "What's wrong? You can tell me. I'll fix it."
"Daddy!" She cries, crossing her arms over her chest. "I can't read!"99
"That's okay." He assures her, brushing her hair out of the way and trying to get her to calm down. You struggling to fight off a laugh, of course, it's upsetting to see her crying, but crying over not being able to read? It's mildly amusing. "I can teach you." He offers.
Her eyes widen. "Really?"
"Yeah. Lay in bed, and I'll tell you the words to the book." In other words, he'll read it to her. "Pinky promise." He assures her, holding out his pinky finger.
She locks her much smaller one with his, smiling and completely forgetting about the meltdown she just had. "Please."
Spencer opens his arms, waiting for her to put her arms around his neck before easily picking her up and setting her back down in bed. He opens up the book, pointing to the first word and clearing his throat before he starts reading.

Spencer Reid x Fem Reader MDNI Master List Category: Smut CW: Pregnancy, Marriage, Pudding, Pregnancy Kink, Breeding Kink, Dirty Talk, Oral Sex (fem), Fingering, Vaginal Sex, Creampie, Aftercare, Softness WC: 2,867
Ever since you got pregnant Spencer can't keep his hands off of you. (Not Proof Read)
Spencer Reid walked into the kitchen, the soft patter of his footsteps on the linoleum floor the only sound in the otherwise quiet apartment.
You were standing by the counter, your back to him, a spoon delicately scraping the last remnants of chocolate pudding from the plastic cup in your hand. The simple act of watching you, in a tight tank top that barely concealed the swell of your belly, sent a warm feeling through him. The way you licked the spoon clean, eyes closed in quiet satisfaction, was a sight that stirred something primal within him.
"You know you're going to share that, right?" he teased, his voice low and playful. You turned to face him, a sly smile playing on your lips. Your eyes sparkled with mischief, a hint of the devilish intentions swirling in your mind.
"There's no more left," you said with a smirk, holding the empty cup out to him. The way your tongue darted out to catch the last remnants of pudding on your lips was a silent invitation, one he wasn't about to ignore. He stepped closer, his hand reaching out to trace the soft curve of your jaw, guiding your mouth to his. Your kiss was sticky sweet, a delicious blend of chocolate and the essence of you that he craved.
Ever since you started showing, his hands hadn't been able to resist exploring the new landscape of your body. The swell of your stomach, the fullness of your breasts, every inch of your skin seemed to hum with a new vitality that drew him in like a moth to a flame. His fingers trailed down to the hem of your tank top, inching it upward as his mouth moved from your lips to the sensitive skin of your neck.
Your breath hitched as his teeth grazed your earlobe, the warmth of his breath sending shivers down your spine. Luckily for him, your pregnancy hormones had you turned on at the drop of a hat, and it didn't take much to set you alight with desire. You leaned into him, your own hands reaching for his belt, eager to feel the familiar heat of his skin against yours.
Spencer steadily guided you back against the kitchen table, his hands firm yet gentle as they held your hips in place. You felt the edge of the table press into the small of your back, reminding you of the countless times he'd taken you there in the heat of the moment, leaving you trembling and satisfied.
With surprising ease, he lifted you, the strength in his arms belying his scholarly exterior. You gasped as he set you down on the cool surface, your legs automatically parting to accommodate him.
He took his time, savoring the moment as he peeled the tank top up and over your head, revealing your swollen breasts that begged for his touch. His eyes feasted on the sight, drinking in every detail of your transformation. His hands cupped them gently, thumbs flicking over the tight peaks of your nipples, eliciting a soft moan from your parted lips.
Spencer leaned in, his mouth closing around one of your nipples, suckling eagerly. You arched your back, pushing into his mouth, the sensation sending waves of pleasure rippling through your body. His other hand played with the neglected breast, kneading and teasing, as his tongue swirled around the sensitive skin.
You felt your core clench, the need for his touch growing more insistent by the second. You reached down to stroke the growing bulge in his pants, feeling his arousal through the fabric. He groaned, his eyes snapping up to meet yours, and the intensity of his gaze was thrilling.
He lavished your breasts with attention, his tongue and teeth teasing, his hands kneading and squeezing. The sensations were almost overwhelming, and you felt a wetness pool between your thighs. He noticed and his eyes darkened, his pupils dilating with hunger. He kissed a trail down your stomach, pausing to place a gentle kiss on your navel.
Spencer's hands slipped to the waistband of your sleep shorts, his fingers deftly untying the bow. He pulled them down, exposing your bare skin to the cool air. He kissed along your inner thighs, his stubble tickling your sensitive flesh. His hands followed the path of his lips, smoothing over your skin as the shorts fell to the floor.
You watched as he knelt before you. His hands spread your thighs wider, revealing the glistening wetness that awaited him. His gaze was intense, filled with a hunger that mirrored your own.
He pulled you to the very edge of the table, aligning your centre with his eager mouth. The first touch of his tongue against your folds was like a spark setting flame. You gasped, your hands clutching the table's edge for balance. He tasted you, savouring the sweetness that was uniquely yours, and the way your body quivered under his touch. His mouth moved with purpose, exploring every inch of your sex with a focus that was both tender and relentless.
In that moment, you were his goddess, the embodiment of creation and beauty. Your pregnant belly was a testament to the life growing within you, a life that was a part of him in the most profound way. He revered you, and his adoration was clear in the way he kissed, licked, and teased you.
Spencer feasted on your flesh, driving you to a blissful high with every stroke of his tongue. Your thighs quivered around his head, your hips rocking against the table as he pleasured you. His hands gripped your thighs, holding you in place as he delved deeper, exploring every fold and curve of your sex. He knew your body better than anyone else, and the way he touched you was a symphony of pleasure, each movement calculated to bring you closer to the edge.
The genius in him had always manifested in every aspect of your relationship, but in the bedroom—or in this case, the kitchen—it was a gift that kept on giving. He'd studied your reactions, your sounds, and your breathing, learning the precise moments when you needed a gentle caress or a firmer touch. His tongue danced around your clit, applying just the right amount of pressure, while his fingers delved into your wetness, stroking the spot that made you scream his name.
And scream you did. The orgasm hit you like a tidal wave, crashing over you with an intensity that made your toes curl and your eyes roll back in your head. Your body bucked against his mouth, your hands fisting in his hair as he drank you in. The warmth of your release painted his face, a delicate display of pleasure that made him smile against your skin.
Spencer stood up, his own arousal pressing against his pants. He pulled you to the edge of the table, aligning his body with yours. He claimed your mouth again, letting you taste yourself on his tongue. The intimacy was heady, a silent declaration of his ownership and adoration.
In mere seconds, his clothes were off, thrown aside without a care for where they landed. His bare chest brushed against your swollen breasts, the friction sending sparks of pleasure through your body. You felt his erection against your stomach, a blunt reminder of the primal urges that had taken hold of him. He didn't want to delay this any further, the need to claim you, to feel your body pulsing around his, was too great.
Spencer helped you lie back, his gentle hands supporting your weight as you settled onto the cool kitchen table. He paused for a moment to appreciate the view, the way your pregnant belly rose and fell with every breath you took, the way your legs dangled over the edge of the table, inviting him in. He stepped closer, positioning himself between your open thighs.
With a smouldering gaze, he took the tip of his erection and teased your clit with it, watching as your hips instinctively bucked to meet him. The sensation was exquisite, the softness of your flesh against his hardness, the way you glistened with desire. You moaned, your eyes half-lidded with anticipation.
He didn't rush, taking his time to savour every moment. Each inch of his cock sliding into you was a symphony of sensation, the tightness of your walls around him a warm embrace that made him groan with pleasure. Your body stretched to accommodate him, a testament to the countless times you've been together, your bodies moulding to each other's needs.
As he watched himself sink into you again and again, his eyes glazed over with a mix of pleasure and primal need. The sight was erotic, a visual representation of his dominance over your body, your willingness to take all of him. With each thrust, his balls slapped against your ass, the sound echoing through the room and driving him closer to the edge.
"You're so wet for me, baby," he murmured, his voice thick with desire. "Do you like being filled up with your husband's cock?" His words were like a caress, a whispered declaration of his ownership, and they sent a fresh wave of arousal through you. You nodded, unable to form coherent sentences as your body was overtaken by pleasure.
"I want you tied to the bed, always ready for me," he growled, the primal need in his voice making your stomach flip. "I'll keep you full of my cum, breeding you until you can't take anymore."
Your eyes widened with excitement, the kinky promise of his words sending a shiver down your spine. The breeding kink had always been a part of your relationship, a delicious game that played on your deepest desires. But now, with a baby growing inside you, the reality of his words was a heady aphrodisiac.
"Oh, god, Spencer," you breathed, your voice barely a whisper. The thought of being at his mercy, of being filled with his seed, swollen with his child, was more than you could handle. He leaned in, his breath hot against your ear as he whispered, "Your body was made to carry my babies, isn't that right?"
"Yes," you moaned, the word escaping on a rush of air as his cock filled you completely. His strokes grew deeper, harder, each thrust claiming you as his own, marking you as the vessel for his progeny. The words were raw, unfiltered, and utterly intoxicating. They tapped into the deepest part of you, the part that craved his dominance, his possession.
The kitchen table creaked under the force of your movements, but you were lost in the sensation of him inside you. Your pussy was practically leaking all over him, a slick, needy mess that only served to drive him wilder. Spencer's eyes were dark with lust, his pupils dilated as he watched the place where your bodies joined, the way your flesh stretched around his length.
The rhythm grew faster, more erratic, his hips slapping against yours. The sound was almost as intoxicating as the feel of him, pushing deep, retreating, only to plunge back in again. You could feel your climax building, the muscles in your core tightening as you chased the high that only he could give you.
And then his words, that sweet, filthy talk that had always had you on edge, started to flow again. "You're mine, baby," he groaned, his voice tight with his own need. "Always and forever. My cock is going to fill you up, claim you, make you mine all over again."
You whimpered, the words alone pushing you closer to the edge. You felt your body tighten around him, your pussy squeezing him like a vice as the tension grew. His hands roamed over your body, claiming every inch of your skin as if he were worshipping a goddess. "You're going to come for me, aren't you?" he demanded, his voice a low growl that resonated through your very soul.
With a deft touch, Spencer found your clit, stroking it in time with his thrusts. Each touch was a spark, igniting the fire that was already burning out of control. You bucked your hips, trying to get closer, trying to get more of him.
"Cum for me, baby," he ordered, his voice a mix of love and dominance. "Cum all over my cock."
You didn't need any more prompting. The orgasm hit you like a freight train, stealing the breath from your lungs and making your eyes roll back in your head. Your body convulsed around him, muscles spasming as wave after wave of pleasure washed over you. He never stopped moving, never broke rhythm, his cock hitting that perfect spot inside that sent sparks of ecstasy shooting through your veins.
"Good girl," he praised. "That's right, cum on my cock." You felt your pussy clench around him, milking his length as your release painted him in your juices.
As the last tremor of your climax subsided, Spencer's own need took over. His strokes grew erratic, his breath coming in harsh pants. The sight of your body, writhing with pleasure beneath him, was perfection. With a guttural groan, he let go, his eyes squeezing shut.
You felt the hot rush of his cum fill you, his body tensing as he emptied himself into your welcoming warmth. It was a feeling that never got old, the knowledge that he was leaving a part of himself inside you. His seed painted your insides, and you revelled in the sensation.
Spencer remained still for a moment, his cock buried deep within you, his chest heaving with exertion. He placed gentle kisses along the skin within reach.
Finally, he pulled out, his cock glistening with the evidence of your shared passion. He knelt down, his gaze fixed on the sight of his cum slowly slipping out of your well-fucked pussy. It was a mesmerizing vision, one that made his pulse quicken. His seed trickled down your sex, a testament to his virility and the depth of his claim on your body.
Reid watched with a sense of primal satisfaction as the sticky white liquid pooled on the table below you. The smell of sex filled the air, mingling with the faint scent of chocolate pudding. The sight was carnally erotic, a reminder of the raw, animalistic connection you shared. His hand trailed down your belly to the spot where he'd just been, tracing the line of cum that trailed down your inner thigh.
He grabbed a clean kitchen towel from the counter, his movements deliberate and precise. With tender care, he began to clean you up. Each wipe was gentle yet thorough, his eyes never leaving the spot where his essence met your flesh. The towel grew damp with the evidence of your shared passion, and he was in no hurry to be done.
Once you were clean, he helped you sit up and pulled your shorts back into place. He took the towel and cleaned himself off before pulling his own clothes back on. You watched him, the love and admiration in your eyes unmistakable. The way he tucked his shirt into his pants, the way his muscles moved under the fabric, was a sight that never failed to arouse you.
Spencer noticed your gaze and leaned in for a soft kiss. "You okay?" he asked, his voice gentle and concerned. You nodded, still basking in the afterglow of your climax. He knew your body was sensitive now, and he didn't want to push you too far.
He led you to the couch, his arm around your waist, supporting your weight as you walked. You sat down, your legs still wobbly from the intensity of your orgasm, and he grabbed a throw blanket, draping it over you. His eyes searched your face, looking for any signs of discomfort, any indication that he'd been too rough.
Spencer took a seat beside you, his hand immediately finding its way to your stomach. He gently caressed the mound, feeling the baby's soft kicks under his fingertips. The look of wonder in his eyes was a stark contrast to the fiery passion from just moments ago. His touch was tender, almost reverent, as he whispered sweet nothings to the life you both created.
Leaning back against his chest, you felt the warmth of his skin, the steady beat of his heart, and the comforting embrace of his arms around your waist. His fingers continued to trace patterns on your belly, the baby's movements a silent reminder of the love that grew between you.
The two of you settled into a content silence, the only sound being the occasional sigh of satisfaction that escaped your lips as Spencer's touch grew more soothing with each stroke of your belly. You felt the baby's movements slow and steady, a gentle reminder of the love that had brought you to this moment. You couldn't help but reflect on the man who held you so tenderly. Spencer Reid, the brilliant and quirky agent you had come to love. He had become your rock, your confidant, your protector, and now, the father of your child.

shawn's deep trust of lassiter keeps catching me so off-guard like when he's held captive and lassie and henry both turn up he tries to yell "carlton" not "dad" and when he sees a guy with a gun come into the restaurant he goes straight for lassie and keeps trying to get his attention instead of literally any of the other dozens of cops in the room with them and when he's telling someone to call the police he tells them to ask for lassiter, not jules, not vick, lassiter. like he spends all his time provoking lassie but the second there's danger there's literally no one else he trusts more
#psych#shawn spencer#carlton lassiter#shassie#like#what the hell man#also lassie calling him 'shawn' all through shawn takes a shot in the dark was Something#i know it's because he was with henry and it would have been weird to last name him to his dad#but still it was wild#AND shawn tried to call out to him as 'carlton' in the same episode??? hello???#and the moment where lassie stops the car and shawn immediately holds the gun out for him is like#yeah they annoy each other so so much#but they're soooo in sync#they Get each other#they drive me fucking crazy like everyone on the show talks about shawn and gus's weird little thing#but no one mentions shawn and lassie's weird little thing#probably because lassie would shoot them but still

“He’s going to throttle me,” your boyfriend announced mournfully, holding the door open for you to enter headquarters, the two of you flashing your badges at security before passing through the metal detectors together.
Rolling your eyes, you reached your hand out and nearly dragged him into the elevator with you. He had been digging his heels in the mud all morning, even going so far as to propose playing hooky, which you were fairly certain he had never done in the history of ever. “He is not going to throttle you. I mean, just imagine the HR implications,” you gently chastised, watching Spencer as he leaned against the wall of the elevator. “Hey,” you said, standing in front of him, you placed a hand on his chest, “We don’t have to tell him today, you know. It could be our little secret for a while.”
Quicker than you expected, Spencer shook his head, “Of course, we have to tell him today. What would happen if you got sent out into the field?” He self-consciously readjusted the strap of his shoulder bag before looking up to watch the floor numbers rise as the elevator went up, “If we didn’t tell him because of my own reservations and then something happened to you, it’d… I’d…”
Your chest clenched as his voice trailed off and you thought of the positive pregnancy tests that were still sitting on your bathroom counter. The tiny wad of cells that had been settling in your womb for weeks without your knowledge – until Spencer asked if you needed pads while you had been grocery shopping – was already so loved.
The first test had come back with such a faint line that you convinced yourself it was just a shadow of an indent on the fragile plastic, but the test you took this morning had been glaringly positive. Slowly, you reached out and took Spencer’s hand, intertwining your fingers as the door to the elevator opened and the two of you stepped out together, “Nothing’s going to happen to me, okay?”
Taking a deep breath, he nodded while holding the glass door to the bullpen open for you, glancing up, you saw that your dad’s office door was open. As soon as you set your things at your desk, you looked at Spencer, nodding up the steps, figuring it was better to do this now than wait.
By Spencer’s math, you were approximately five weeks pregnant, much earlier than people usually elect to share their news. Still, both of you immediately decided it was in your best interest to let your dad know right away.
Leading the way, you knocked on the heavy wooden door to get his attention, his head snapped up in the direction of the noise, shoulders relaxing slightly when he saw it was you, likely having thought a case was being brought in. “Do you have a second?” You asked softly, nerves creeping up as your father waved the both of you in.
“For you, of course,” he responded, nodding at Spencer in acknowledgment before watching suspiciously as the two of you sat in the chairs in front of his desk. “What’s wrong?” He asked, watching you fold and unfold your hands in your lap, it didn’t help that Spencer looked like he had been called into the principal’s office.
You shook your head, “Nothing’s wrong, Dad. We just needed to have a chat,” you told him.
Frowning, his curiosity deepened, “A chat?” Hotch questioned the word that wasn’t a frequent flyer in your lexicon.
“A talk?” You tried again meekly, knowing that he’d start making his own conclusions if you didn’t say something soon.
He looked over at your boyfriend, “If it’s just a talk then why is Reid avoiding eye contact?”
Pinching the bridge of your nose, you exhaled heavily, “We should’ve waited,” you muttered to no one in particular.
“Waited for what, exactly? You’re not splitting up, are you?” He inquired, likely developing a list of forms that would need to be filled out if the two of you had in fact broken up.
You waved your hand aimlessly in the air. It seemed that neither of you had fully understood how hard it would be to announce your accidental pregnancy to your father and your boss simultaneously.
Since neither of you spoke, your father continued, “I’m obligated to side with my daughter. Which isn’t solely based on my belief that she can do no wrong, but if-“
“I’m pregnant,” you blurted, clamping your hand over your mouth as if you could recapture the words that had flown from your lips.
What followed was the silence that you had dreaded. Weren’t people supposed to jump for joy in situations like this? However, the moment Hotch jumped for joy for anything would likely end in someone being institutionalized.
Slowly, you dropped your hand from your mouth, watching your father as if he were a ticking time bomb.
“Is this a good thing?” He asked, finally shattering the wall of silence that had been put up.
Your eyes widened as you looked between your father and your boyfriend, “Oh, yes! We’re very happy,” you clarified, bracing your hands on the armrests of your chair.
Finally, your dad smiled and stood up from his desk chair, waving you over and enveloping you in a hug, “Then congratulations,” he told you, pulling away slightly, “How long have you known?”
You looked back at Spencer, who was standing up beside you and looking decidedly less nervous, “About ten hours,” he answered for the both of you.
Releasing you, your father looked your boyfriend up and down, “You should probably get married before the baby arrives,” he suggested. You recognized the mischievous look on his face – you frequently sported the same look.
“Right, of course,” Spencer said, straightening his posture behind you, nerves once again emanating from him.
You held a hand up, “An incredibly bold statement considering I was in your wedding,” you peered at your father.
Ignoring you, your dad continued, “So, we should settle on a dowry.”
“Dad!”

Hey! I just recently followed as I read your lazy days in story and omg your writing is beautiful! I was wondering if I could request a sequel to that story? Mabey a more smutty one with them “planning” for the baby or a fluff one with Spencer being protective and the kids helping as reader is pregnant? Feel free to say no. I hope you have a lovely day :)
Planning for a Baby: A Journey of Love, Chaos, and Family Ties
“Every child begins the world anew.” – Henry David Thoreau
In the tumultuous whirlwind of parenthood, it often feels as if you’re cruising through a chaotic storm without a compass. As families evolve, so do their dreams of further expanding, which often stirs a cocktail of excitement, trepidation, and, yes, quite a bit of logistical planning. Recently, in the wake of so many beautiful moments shared, you found yourself negotiating the delicate balance of managing a busy household filled with the vibrant energy of your four children while also planning for a new addition. And to ensure this delicate dance goes smoothly, your partner, Spencer Reid, and you would need to steal those elusive "private moments."
The Reality of Chaos
With four lively children, our home is often a cacophony of giggles, arguments, and chaotic fun. The older kids are remarkable in their own right, each possessing distinct personalities that perfectly add to our family dynamic. From the intellectual debate amongst siblings to the spontaneous outbursts of laughter, it’s difficult to find a private moment where Spencer and you can catch our breaths, let alone engage in serious discussions about bringing another child into this full and vibrant life.
Yet, amidst the delightful clamor of your children, the desire to expand our family continues to tug at your heartstrings. Each laugh shared, every bedtime story told, all provide a glimpse into the boundless love we can offer. You often find yourself daydreaming about the serene moments of bonding that lay ahead with your anticipated little one. But how does one plan for a baby with such limited quiet time?
Finding Hidden Moments
Inserting pockets of intimacy into the daily whirlwind is essential. Spencer, with his charmingly nerdy yet protective nature, has always known how to create those stolen moments. He’ll softly beckon you to the backyard for a break, where we can indulge in nostalgia under the stars. Or he’ll help with the kids’ bedtime routine just so you can slip away to the kitchen for a quick chat—secrets shared over warm cups of tea.
As we navigate the winding paths of our conversations, they’re often punctuated by the joyful noise of our children. Spencer's patience and vigilant demeanor shine as he lovingly diffuses any potential chaos. Sometimes he plays the role of the superhero, swooping in to pacify a squabble over toys. Other times, he’s the wise sage, guiding our children and subtly teaching them about love and the joys of family.
Engaging Your Children
It quickly dawned on you that your older children could also be a part of this planning process, and you didn’t have to carry the weight alone. You often turned to them, tapping into their boundless enthusiasm and creativity. During breakfast one day, you broached the subject of a new baby, gauging their reactions with a gentle yet serious tone.
“Imagine if we had a little brother or sister. What do you think we should name them?” you asked, feigning a playful innocence that immediately piqued their interest.
As expected, the answers poured out in a delightful burst of names ranging from the wildly imaginative to the whimsically mundane. Your oldest, a fiercely imaginative soul, suggested “Thanos,” while our second thought a simple “Baby Shark” would be fitting. The mere banter lightened the atmosphere, transforming what could have been a daunting topic into a delightful brainstorming session.
Finding Balance Within the Chaos
Of course, the planning for a new child isn’t solely about whimsical names and subjecting the kids to late-night discussions. It involves daunting logistics: figuring out finances, middle-of-the-night feedings, ensuring we can find a larger home, and balancing quality time amongst our children. However, I’ve come to realize that planning is not merely about the destination; instead, it’s about celebrating the journey undertaken to get there.
We began adjusting our family routine, ensuring everyone got more involved. Spencer took on the role of a master scheduler, setting up our family calendar with scheduled family outings, meals, and even quiet time—attempting to create more breathing room for the intimacy that you craved as a couple. His organizational skills transformed your family dynamic, allowing opportunities to spend focused, joyous moments together, which feel vital when preparing for a new arrival.
The Protective Nature of Spencer Reid
One of the sweetest aspects of our journey has been Spencer’s protectiveness over your family. He is naturally drawn to his nurturing instincts; much like an old soul, he absorbs the energy around him, remaining constant even in the midst of chaos. There’s immense comfort in knowing that your next child will arrive into an atmosphere saturated with love and protection. His subtle reminders would always be present: “We've got this,” he'd whisper, often when the chaos got too overwhelming.
Whether it’s him sharing calm bedtime stories or playfully preparing the kids for their new sibling, the protective qualities Spencer showcases resonate within our home. His bond with each child reflects his undying commitment to love and support every child, whether they’re with him now or yet to arrive.
Embracing the Journey
As the weeks turn into months and the reality of adding another child sinks in, you embrace each chaos-laden day with open arms. It’s essential to frame this phase as not just a planning period but as a treasured moment overflowing with memories. From the meticulous organization of baby clothing to the spontaneous giggles shared with our children, they serve as reminders that love expands endlessly.
Ultimately, planning for a new child in a home brimming with vibrant personalities is an enchanting yet challenging endeavor. It transforms those fleeting private moments into an ongoing melody of laughter, teamwork, and bonding. Amidst the whirlwind of our day-to-day lives and parenthood’s demands, you’re learning to appreciate the beauty in the little things—a shared glance, whispered secrets beneath the stars, and even the messiness that lets you know you’re alive.
As you embark upon this next chapter, you hold onto the thought that each child plays a crucial role in your family’s unique symphony, eagerly anticipating the harmony that your new baby will bring to your already beautiful ensemble. Indeed, every child indeed begins the world anew—and you are so ready to embrace it.

First Kick
Summary: Aaron Hotchner x Fe!Reader -> Both you and Aaron have been in a secret relationship for three years, except when you go into labour, the rest of the team can't help but speculate.
Disclaimer: Just pure fluff. Small descriptions of labour. BAU being a family. Jack and Haley don't exist in this fic. Not Proof Read.
You would have thought working with a bunch of FBI profilers, they would have figured out the truth by now.
But they hadn’t.
Instead, both yourself and Aaron had lived in wedded bliss for the last three years and were now expecting your first child.
Of course, that couldn’t be hidden from the team. The constant morning sickness. The aversions to certain smells. The swollen ankles, the overwhelming emotions and the growing belly.
Which, as you were sitting at the dim light of your desk filling in the last of the paperwork for your latest case, began to move.
The others had stepped out for a while, grabbing some food. They had invited you except the thought of walking a block and a half already made you want to fall asleep. So, kissing the top of your head, Morgan took your order and promised to bring you back extra guac.
The hum from the headphones you placed around your belly filled the small silence, a tune of Motzart rather than a constant drum of a nearby printer.
However, from under the headphones, you felt a movement.
It wasn’t big. Barely noticeable. But it was there.
Or was it?
Maybe it was nothing.
Except, twenty seconds later, you knew for certain.
Pulling the headphones from you, you stood up immediately and rushed towards Hotch’s office.
And you continued with your normal routine. Knocking on his door, calling his name and stepping inside.
“Is everything okay?”
Trying not to raise any alarm, you closed his office door behind you before shutting the blinds.
“Is everything okay?”
Aaron scanned your face. “Honey?”
Within seconds he was by your side. “What is it?”
But then you smiled. And he became confused.
“What-”
“Feel.”
Taking his hand, you guided it to cover part of your growing belly. “What am I-”
Kick.
You watched every emotion possible pass over Aaron’s face as he took in the feeling of your child kicking his palm.
“Is that-”
Kick.
Then he laughed.
Aaron Hotchner laughed.
It wasn’t often that you got to see this side of your husband when at work. So it was a nice surprise when you did.
Within seconds, he had stepped a little closer and had carefully removed his hand from the top of your stomach and slipped it under the hem of your shirt, allowing his warm palm to rest against your skin.
Then your baby kicked harder.
You both laughed that time.
“Hey, ow.” You said, looking at your stomach.
Aaron chuckled lightly before resting his forehead against yours as his other hand rested against your face, brushing the fallen hair from your face and cupping your cheek.
“She’s moving.”
You smiled. “You’re still convinced it’s a girl?”
“Of course I am. I’m a profiler. I should know.”
You chuckled lightly, shaking your head. “I’m a profiler, too, you know.”
“I know.”
“And it’s mother.”
“And you disagree?” He asked, still with a light smile gracing his lips.
You hummed. “I’m uncertain.”
“Well, how about I give you my profile and see how you feel?”
You laughed. “It really is second nature to you.”
Aaron hummed before moving his hand, still under your shirt, to the top of your belly.
“You’re carrying high, for one.” His thumb traced back and forth on your stomach. “You’ve suffered with morning sickness before twelve weeks, your main craving so far has been fruit. You sleep on your right side.”
“I always sleep on my right side.”
Aaron smiled. “And your skin,” He stroked his thumb against your cheekbone. “It’s soft.”
You smiled, leaning into his touch. “Except, they are just old wives tales.”
“I’d like to think there is still some justice in them. Are you sure you want to wait until they’re born?”
“Yes.”
“And you couldn’t be persuaded?”
“Nope.”
“Are you sure?” Aaron smirked a little before leaning in and kissing you.
Pulling his hand from your stomach, he brought it up to the other side of your face and it wasn’t long before he felt your body melt into his.
“The others are going to be back soon.”
Aaron groaned a little but not before kissing you a last few times before pulling away.
“You’d think they would have figured it out by now.”
You nodded. “But it is kinda fun. And I can’t wait until they see our baby. I have a feeling they’ll look like you.”
“I should hope so.”
You laughed. “You know what I mean. And, if it is a girl, don’t they usually look like they’re dad?”
“Are you saying you agree with my profile?”
You hummed. “Maybe. Just a little. You are the Unit Chief of the BAU, so I suppose you have some credibility.”
“Even if they’re just old wives tales?” He asked, raising his eyebrow a little.
You nodded, with a slight smile. “Even if they’re just old wives tales.”
You finally left his office just before the team got back, but not before stealing a few more kisses.
Over the following months, the team grew more protective of you. With your pregnancy coming to an end, and still not knowing who the father was, they began to step up.
It was sweet to watch.
Penelope had planned your baby shower with JJ’s help. Reid had read up on everything a doctor and midwife knew about giving birth, just in case you went into early labour. Emily had helped you pack your spare hospital bag for the office in case you were rushed into labour whilst at the office or away on a case, being too far from home to drive to get your hospital bag.
And when Hotch couldn’t be by your side, he made sure either Rossi and Morgan were there to help you.
“You okay there, Momma?”
You looked to Morgan who had appeared from around the corner. You were leaning against the counter, your hand holding onto the bottom of your belly.
“Yeah, yeah. I’m fine.” You breathed out. “Just a little- ow. Okay. Hey-”
“Whoa, hey, okay, take it easy.”
Morgan placed his coffee mug down, coming right back to your side and holding your hand. “What do you need?”
Your grip tightened around his hand. “Ow. Hospital.”
“Okay, okay. Where’s your hospital bag?”
“By my desk. Emily-” You grunted in pain. “Emily knows.”
“Okay, okay. It’s okay. Emily!”
Turning around, it took Emily less than ten seconds to realise what was going on.
“Okay, Garcia. Hey! Penelope, call Hotch. Let him know what’s going on.”
“Why, what’s-O…oh my god. Okay, Okay. Calling him now.”
By the time Morgan got you to the parking lot, Hotch was pulling in.
“Get in, I can drive her straight there.”
“Have you got everything you need?”
You nodded.
“Call us if you need anything?” Emily asked, shutting your door.
You could only hum, holding onto Emily’s hand.
She leaned in for a moment, kissing your cheek.
“See you when you get back, Momma.”
Hotch pulled away a few moments later, rushing you directly to the hospital.
And for the next twenty hours, Hotch stayed by your side. And the rest of the team started to think.
“I mean, think about it. When she got braxton hicks. Who was the first one at her side?”
“Hotch.” Penelope answered.
“Yeah, and the way he looked. I don’t know about you but I have never seen Hotch that nervous.”
“That is true.” Rossi agreed.
“But they can’t be…together, can they?” JJ asked. “You all had it sussed about me and Will. They couldn’t go this long and not have us at least find out.”
“Maybe they didn’t want us to.”
“Or maybe they’re not together at all.”
“When have you ever known either of them to be that close with each other as they are with us? Rossi, have you ever seen the inside of Hotch’s house?”
“Not for a while, no. Why, have you ever seen hers?”
Emily shook her head.
“Penelope, can you find out anything?” Morgan asked, turning to his best girl.
“I can but it would completely wreck my moral standing.”
“You’ve never run a background check on us?” JJ asked.
“No! That would be an invasion of your privacy. And theirs! If they are a..them, I suppose. Or maybe not. Maybe she is just a single mother and Hotch has decided to help her. He was the first to find out.”
“See, another thing!” Emily pointed out.
“But Hotch is the first to know everything about us. He’s the main person we have to tell when it comes to personal things that could affect our work.” Morgan explained.
“But why not come to one of us?” Rossi asked. “JJ, what do you think? Out of us, who would you have come to?”
JJ thought for a moment. “Out of you boys? Probably…Hotch.”
“Really?” Rossi asked.
“Why not me?” Morgan asked.
“Or me?” Reid finished.
JJ smiled. “You know I love you all equally, but out of Three Divorces, Pretty Boy and Chocolate Thunder, I’d want to tell someone I know to be calm. That could remain level headed.”
“And we’re not level headed?” Morgan asked, causing JJ to look up above her shoulder.
“What did you do when I told you I was pregnant?”
Morgan paused for a second. “You may have a point.”
“Either way, we can’t know for certain that they’re having a baby together.” Reid pointed out.
“Well, she’s married. Or engaged, at least.”
They all turned to Emily.
“How do you know that?”
“Her wedding finger. Last time she came back from AL she had a tan line. It was faint, but it was there.”
“Maybe he ran off? They got pregnant but he didn’t want to be in the picture?”
Penelope scoffed. “What a jerk.”
“I don’t think they’d appreciate us speculating like this.”
“JJ’s right. Maybe they’re just friends and Hotch is helping her out. Garcia, have you heard from them yet?”
“Not yet, Sir.”
Meanwhile, at the hospital, the midwife was instructing Aaron to get behind you, holding you up and holding your hands and you continued to push.
“I don’t think I can do it.”
“Yes, you can. Yes, you can. Come on, honey. I know you can.”
“Can’t you do it for me?”
Aaron chuckled. “I wish I could, but I can’t.”
“Just a couple more pushes, Mrs Hotchner.”
Another wave of contractions hit and you continued to push for another fifteen minutes before finally everyone in the room heard the cries of your baby.
“You did it, honey. I’m so proud of you. You did it.”
“Is she okay? What-Where is she?”
Aaron smiled, tears in his eyes, pushing the hair out of your own. “She’s-She’s okay. Look, the midwife is just wrapping them up.”
A few moments later, the midwife handed you your baby.
Two days later they discharged you from the hospital and the first stop made was at the office considering the last of your things had been left there when you went into labour.
And it also meant the team could finally greet your baby.
“Ooh, ooh, they’re here. They’re here.”
Penelope was the first to spot you and Hotch standing in his office and it wasn’t long before they were all standing outside.
However, as the congratulations and praise was made, Penelope’s voice dropped an octave after she got a clear look of the baby.
“Oh my god.”
“What is it, Garcia?”
“Ohh, ohh, ohh my goodness.”
But you could only smile.
“You!” Penelope pointed before turning to look at Hotch. “And you! Oh my god! You are!”
You looked behind you, finding your husband standing closer to you than when the team had first walked inside.
“Are what? Baby girl, what’s-”
And then it clicked.
With all of them.
And for a moment they were all stunned into complete silence.
“Aaron…why didn’t you…”
“Tell you?” Hotch asked, finishing Rossi’s question.
“Truthfully, we kinda maybe wanted to see how long it would take you all to figure out.” You explained.
“But…how?!” JJ asked.
You just shrugged.
“Hints were there if you looked for them.” Aaron said.
“Hints were- Oh, so, now he tells us. How long?”
“Four years.” You both answered.
“Four years?!” They all half shouted, quickly remembering there was an infant present.
“Wait.” Penelope said, holding up her hands. “Oh my god, it’s all coming together. This must be how Sherlock Holmes feels when he cracks a case.”
Both yourself and Aaron smiled before looking down at the sleeping baby in your arms.
“The weekends away, the lunch orders, the arrive at work together. Oh my god! The touching.” Penelope hit Emily and Derek’s arm.
“Ow!” They both called.
“How could you two not have noticed this?!”
“You didn’t notice either!” Emily replied, rubbing her arm.
“Baby girl, they kept this from us for four years. Why aren’t you hitting them?”
“Because,” Penelope explained. “She had just had a beautiful baby girl. And Hotch is my boss.”
“Can you ever find a way to forgive us?”
They all looked at each other before seemingly coming to the same conclusion. “Fine. But, only if you tell us how it happened and when. And, if you have a wedding re-do so that we all get to attend.”
Both you and Aaron looked at each other.
“That could work.”
“Great! Now, let me see this beautiful baby girl.” Penelope said, her voice once again chipper, as she came to your side.
“My goodness, she’s beautiful. Hotch, she looks just like you.”
Aaron smiled at the compliment, but shook his head. “No, that’s all her mom.”
“Oh-ho,” Rossi laughed a little. “She is going to be running rings around us all soon enough.”
Four weeks later, each member of the team turned up together on different days, listening to the story of your relationship. First were the girls and Reid before JJ showed up with Morgan and Rossi. JJ was there to drop some items off that both yourself and Hotch would find useful with the nursery but she didn’t mind hearing the story a second time.
Eight weeks after you had given birth, your doorbell rang and just as Aaron opened up the front door, Penelope and Rossi walked inside carrying boxes of items before directing the rest of the team through your home into the garden.
“Dave, what’s going on?”
“You, my dear friend, are getting married.”
“We’re already married.” You said with a small laugh, walking to stand beside your husband.
Dave nodded. “That you are, but today, you are both getting remarried. You did promise us.”
“We did promise them.” Aaron said, turning to look at you.
“We did, didn’t we?”
Dave smiled. “So, Uncle Reid is going to be looking after this little one.”
You carefully handed your baby girl to Spencer as Dave continued to explain.
“Whilst the girls help you get ready and I enlist your help,” Rossi turned to look at Hotch. “To help finish the set up.”
Penelope appeared from down the hallway. “Come on, Emily is finishing setting everything up.”
“I guess I’ll see you at the wedding?”
“I’ll be the one in white.”
Aaron smiled before kissing you quickly as barely a second later Penelope was dragging you upstairs.
That night was filled with joy, laughter and happiness. Yourself and Aaron shared another set of marriage vows in front of the team. You shared a second first dance, a second first kiss and a first family dance.
It was a quiet moment on the corner of the dance floor. You were swaying with your baby, softly, in your arms when you felt a familiar pair of arms wrap around your waist from behind and a familiar pair of lips kiss your shoulder.
Turning around you, Aaron held both of you close. Your forehead against his and your eyes closed, his fingers traced patterns against your arms back and forth before down your side and to your hips where he pulled you in a little closer.
Neither of you knew it until a week later, but Morgan had, with Emily’s help, caught everything on camera. And with help from Penelope, a second wedding video had been made.
Capturing the full length of your first family dance together.

Anything for Ellie
Spencer Reid x Single Mom!Reader
Synopsis: Your daughter, Ellie’s birthday is coming up and you plan on baking a cake for her. But when you accidentally break the eggs you just bought, your handsome neighbor, Spencer comes to your rescue.
Category: Fluff
Warnings: post prison! spencer, pictures above don’t indicate how reader is supposed to look! reader’s ex is a piece of shit, spencer lowkey being a dad, mentions of cheating and divorce, reader’s daughter being kind of a wingwoman, mentions of the prison arc but they’re brief, (spencer’s been gone for three months and reader has no idea why), mutual pining, reader’s daughter having an absent father, minor angst, a minor mention of maeve, baking- i think that covers it 🤷♀️
Author’s Note: hey lovelies! i’m a sucker for single mom!reader x spencer reid so here it is! will most likely make a part two <3
“Mommy, can I help?” Your almost-five year-old, Ellie begged, reaching her arms up to grab anything you’d been holding. You both had gone to the store and were now coming up the stairs back to your apartment after getting what you needed.
Ellie was turning five in a few days here and had wanted a big birthday party with all of her friends in your apartment. You’d wanted to go all out for your little one, wanting her to have the best birthday party ever.
It’d only been a year since you and your ex had signed divorce papers. While you were married, he was off screwing his assistant at the banking firm he worked in. And you’d caught them in the act, on your bed. You were devastated to say the least. But in a way, it felt like a relief.
Let’s just say, you weren’t happy in your marriage. Your ex wasn’t very helpful when it came to your marriage. He’d nitpick every single thing that made you you, called you a hot mess every now and again and was never appreciative of anything you did for him. And another thing — he was a good dad, just not a very present one. Ever since she was born, it seemed like he wasn’t interested in the parenthood. He’d let down Ellie over a gazillion times and you weren’t sure he’d be able to keep his promise about showing up for her birthday party. There was always something more important and that wasn’t fair to you or to Ellie.
So, you did what you could, scraped up money you had saved and got an apartment in D.C., you’d rather be happy homeless than co-exist with him further. You’d luckily found a quaint apartment, two bedrooms and even managed to snag a bakery job with the help of your friends. Things were turning up for you and for Ellie.
“Here, why don’t you grab this bag?” You say, handing her a paper bag of the plastic cups, plates, napkins and utensils since it was probably the one thing you could trust her to hold.
Ellie had been singing a song, about how she was turning five and she kept reminding you that her birthday was in a few days and how excited she was. You loved that she’d been excited for it. You remembered the day she was born vividly. You were in labor for fourteen hours with no help from your ex, since he was asleep the majority of Ellie’s birth but every minute was worth it to have a little you by your side. You were lucky enough that Ellie was blessed with your genes and had soon enough become your little twin.
You made your way to the door, trying to reach for your keys in your pocket but the paper bags were in your way and you didn’t want to drop one of the bags since it had the eggs you were going to use to bake Ellie’s cake and you didn’t want to break them. You groan as you try to reach in your pocket without trying to drop the bags but your hand slips and down goes the paper bag with the eggs and you wince as you hear the eggs crack.
“Oh, no.” You sigh as you bend down pick up the mess. You’d have to hold off on baking Ellie’s cake tomorrow night, the day before the party. You’d been a bit of a perfectionist and just wanted to bake the cake a few days before.
You nearly thought about crying in front of your soon-to-be five year-old over cracked eggs when a shadow stood over you and your daughter. “Hi, Mr. Spencer!” Your daughter greeted your next door neighbor with a wave and you looked up and did a double-take as you saw the tall lanky man stand over you. He was wearing a brown sweater, black slacks and converse, holding his mail in his hands. But to be honest, he looked a little different. Hence, the double-take.
“Hi, Ellie! Everything okay over here?” Spencer asked as he kneels down to help you clean the mess you made. Ellie answers for you, “No, my mommy broke the eggs.”
You look up at Spencer. “Hi, Spencer. We’re all good here,” You manage to say as you scrape up the bag. “I’m just…” You throw your arms around. “As you know, a bit of a klutz.” You look over at your daughter. “Looks like we’re gonna have to bake the cake tomorrow night, Ellie.”
You stand up and Spencer and you’re still shocked at the fact that even standing, he’s still taller than you. His hair was wild with chocolate locks, with warm yet tired brown eyes and stubble growing on his face. He was always gorgeous.
It’d been a while since you’d seen Spencer, living next door to him for over a year now. For about three months, he’d completely disappeared and you almost wondered if maybe he moved but standing in front of you, clearly he didn’t.
You manage to grab your keys out of your pocket while holding the bags but Spencer had come to your rescue and managed to grab both of the bags from your arms and you unlock the front door, Ellie running inside, to mess around no less. You turn back to your neighbor and give him a small yet appreciative smile as you take your bags back from his hands. “Thank you, Spencer.”
“No problem.” The man says. You look at him and squint your eyes and Spencer gives you a confused look. “Sorry, I don’t mean to stare, it’s just… it’s been a while. You look a little… different.” You admit and his face falters for a moment. “It’s a good different, I promise you.”
Your downstairs neighbor, Rita — a seventy year-old woman who lived alone with a dozen cats — had a theory that Spencer may have been abducted by aliens. Granted, she was a senile old lady that watched too many UFO shows but it made you wonder why he disappeared for a minute. You knew he was an FBI agent, his job must’ve been too demanding because you’d hadn’t seen him until now.
“So, where have you been? Ellie and I have missed you.” You smile and Spencer opens his mouth and it looks like there are gears running through his head and he shrugs, “Oh, just… a vacation. Of sorts.”
A vacation, of sorts. Huh. You start to wonder if maybe Rita is right about an alien abduction. You nod, not knowing how to respond to that and luckily, your daughter is a good icebreaker because she comes rushing back to the front door where you are talking with Spencer. “Spencer! I’m turning five in this many days!” She tells him, holding three fingers up.
“Oh, wow!” Spencer bends down to her level. “You doing anything special for your birthday, Ellie?” Ellie nods once more, “Yes! We’re having a big birthday party for me and I’m gonna get a lot of presents and cake!” This then causes your daughter to turn to you. “Mommy, can’t we bake the cake, now?” Ellie begs, beaming her signature puppy eyes that make you say ‘yes’ to anything for her.
“I’m sorry, babe, I broke the eggs so we’re gonna have to wait until tomorrow when I can go to the store to get eggs to bake the cake, okay?” You ask, running a hand through her hair and she looks down in sadness. The last thing you wanted was to make her sad.
“Uh, actually,” Spencer speaks up. “I have eggs, if you’d like to have them to bake your cake.” He offers and you shake your head, surprised he offered. “Oh, thank you for the kind offer, but it’s alright.”
“No, take them,” Spencer insists. “I don’t need them and if I use them, they’re not going to be good anyways, since I can’t really cook anything.” He chuckles to himself but you still have hesitation written on your face. Spencer sees it, tilting his head to meet your eyes and pushes — “I insist.”
He always knew what to say, how to fix the issue. The first time you met, you had gone over to his apartment to ask if he had any juice since it was the only thing Ellie wanted to drink when she was sick and you’d just run out. Luckily, Spencer had had juice and formally introduced himself to you. Since that day, he never forgot you. He never forgot the way your hair was sticking out of your messy bun, that you were wearing a pastel pink robe and mismatched socks, like he did often. It was then that he wanted to get to know you. Luckily, you baked him cookies as a token of your gratitude the next day and the rest was history.
“Take the eggs, Mama! Take the eggs!” Ellie begs as she bounces, grabbing you by your arm and you finally give in, “Okay, I’ll definitely pay you back for the eggs. I do appreciate this a lot, Spencer.” You tell and he nods, “Hey, what are neighbors for? I’ll go get those for you, right now.”
Spencer heads back to his apartment as you and Ellie make your way inside of yours and you place your bags on the counter and take a breather. Spencer is gone for at least ten to fifteen seconds before showing back up with the eggs, like he said he would get for you.
“Here you are.” He says, handing the carton to you. “You really didn’t have to do this, Spencer. Your generosity…” You trail off but he shakes his head, “It’s really no problem. Just as long as you have me with a cup of sugar.” He jokes and you laugh along with him.
Suddenly, Ellie appears behind you and looks at your neighbor and asks, “Spencer, will you help me and my mom bake my birthday cake?” You look down at your daughter. Her spark and confidence was something you definitely didn’t pass down onto her.
Spencer responds with nothing except wide eyes and an open mouth. You’re quick to jump in and speak for him. “Spencer probably has other things to attend to, Ellie.” You look back at him. “You definitely don’t have to.”
“Please, Spencer! Please!” Ellie begs with puppy eyes and you look at him and joke — “Don’t fall for her puppy eyes. She gets away with a lot around here because of them.” Spencer chuckles and looks at you, “Uh, if it’s okay with you. I really don’t mind staying.”
You raise your brows, “You don’t?” Spencer shakes his head, “Yeah, why not spend my time with a four-year-old princess and her beautiful mother?” He jokes and you will your cheeks not to turn a shade of crimson at the beautiful comment. Him thinking you were beautiful made your stomach churn and your heart skip a beat.
You stared at him. There was something in his eyes that was tired and sad, like he needed this. He was never like that, usually his eyes lit up and to some degree they did, but you worried for him silently, especially since he sort of dodged the question about you asking where he was. You decide for him to stay, to which Ellie excitedly grabs him by his hands.
“Come on!” Ellie drags Spencer as she pulls him towards the kitchen and he lets her. “El, what do we do before we start baking?” You ask her. “Wash our hands!” Ellie says and grabs a chair to stand over the sink as you put soap into her hands and you look at Spencer as he makes his way over to the sink and put soap into his hands as well and you do the same.
Ellie grabs her apron that you bought her for baking so she doesn’t get it all over her clothes and you put on your baking apron and you all soon begin.
You put the ingredients together, consisting of sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda and you let Ellie do the mixing as you begin to work on the frosting.
“Mr. Spencer?” Ellie asks the man standing next to you as you work your magic. “Yes, Ellie?” Spencer asks, dividing his attention to her. “Where were you?” You turn to your daughter, wondering where that came from. But with her nosy nature, you aren’t very surprised by the question.
“Uh, I was working, Ellie. You remember my job.” Spencer speaks softly to her, reminding her. “Right, you’re a spy.” Ellie says as she continues to mix. “I am a spy, yeah.” Spencer chuckles a bit as he replies.
He is quick to then change the subject before Ellie can ask anymore questions. “Let me ask you this, Ellie, do you want to see a magic trick?” He did this often when Ellie needed focus her attention on something else, it helped stimulate her brain, Spencer claimed when he did it the first time he’d ever witness her have a meltdown.
“Oh, Ellie, you love magic.” You comment. Ellie had a moment where all she was into was cartoons and she’d recently just watched Strange Magic and had fallen in love with the concept of fairytales and such. In fact, the party was fairy-themed, wanting her friends to dress up as fairies.
“Would you like to see a magic trick?” Spencer asks and Ellie nods vehemently and Spencer looks around and finds a piece of paper and looks around for a pen, which he finds on your counter and shows Ellie the items. “Now, watch the pen.”
He quickly stabs the pen through the paper, making Ellie gasp and the pointer side of the pen is on the other side of the paper and Spencer tilts and pulls the pen from the paper and the pen isn’t broken and the paper doesn’t even have a dent in it.
“Wow!” Ellie exclaims. “How did you do that?” Spencer shakes his head, “A magician never reveals his secrets.”
Your heart skips a beat as Spencer treats your daughter like she’s his own, almost. Your ex wasn’t good with kids, which was probably why he didn’t bother having a good relationship with Ellie. But Spencer, since the day you met, seemed to always have an affinity with kids. He loved watching over Ellie and he was so caring and trustworthy. You’d almost wished Spencer was Ellie’s father instead, considering her biological one wasn’t very present in her life.
“You done mixing the powder there, kiddo?” You ask, taking those thoughts out of your head and she nods, “Yes, Mama.”
“Alrighty, wanna help me whisk the frosting?” It was Ellie’s favorite part after all. “Spencer, do you like chocolate cake?” Ellie asked as she made her way over to you and you sat her on the counter. “I do. My favorite donuts are actually chocolate with rainbow sprinkles.” Ellie beams with excitement at that, “That’s my favorite, too!”
After a while, you finally finish baking the cake yourself since Ellie seems so cooped up on Spencer and showing him her room upgrade since she recently wanted to fill the walls with posters, and she wanted to show him her new toys and she had him show magic tricks to her.
Eventually, Ellie grows tired and winds up falling asleep on the couch. As you tuck her into bed, you find Spencer cleaning up your kitchen and you smile to yourself. He was always such a neat freak, perhaps you liked that about him. “You don’t have to do that.” You say, making your presence known and the man turns to you with a shrug. “I don’t mind.”
You begin to help as you wipe down your counter. It’s quiet for a moment before you speak again. “You, uh, you were wonderful with Ellie today. You sure you don’t have any kids?” You joke.
Spencer shakes his head with a sly chuckle, “No, I don’t.” You raise your brows, still messing with him. “Oh, yeah, no, I do have a few godsons, though. Henry and Michael. And then, my old colleague’s friend named his son after me. I guess you could say I’m just good with kids.” He tells and you smile.
“You’re a natural at it.” You compliment as you throw away the paper towels you used to clean your counter.
You think to yourself as you guys go quiet once more. And then you decide to carry on the conversation with a question Ellie wanted you to ask Spencer. “Oh, uh, when I was putting Ellie to bed, she wanted me to ask you if maybe you’d like to attend her birthday party this Saturday. You totally don’t have to come, but she wanted me to ask anyways.”
Spencer ponders this for a moment, “Work depending, sure, I’d love to.” He narrows his eyes for a second. “Something tells me she’ll always do the ruling around here.” He jokes and it makes you chuckle. “Yeah, yeah, that’s kind of how it is.”
There’s a moment as the two of you pause and he stares at you with a wondering look. You seem to be gazing back at him. To be honest, Spencer had had a crush on you since the day you came to his door asking for juice.
Of course, before then, they’d lived next door for a while and Ellie was pretty loud behind those thin walls since she was a kid and you most likely encouraged her to be playful and there were times when it was quiet in his apartment and all he could hear was your laughter and hers. And he wondered who was on the other side of that wall. He hadn’t experienced a childhood such as Ellie’s and he was left wondering if he’d ever be able to have something like that. And wondered what it was like for Ellie to have such a wonderful mother.
“How are things… with you?” Spencer asks and you shrug, “Same old, same old. Ellie has been a riot. I swear, she’s into something new everyday.” Spencer pauses you for a second. “Y/n,” He spoke. “I asked how you were doing.”
Your breath catches in your throat and you swallow the lump that has formed. You’d never been used to getting asked that question. You often deflected, talking about Ellie since she was your pride and joy. Spencer had profiled you — knowing he probably shouldn’t have — and had theorized that you only talked about Ellie just to not talk about yourself. It often stemmed from a fear of judgment or vulnerability, he knew. He knew why it was like that for you, not having a very present ex that could care less about you and your daughter and only striving to be strong for Ellie. He wished he could take your pain away, especially after learning your story.
“I’m…” You think for a moment. How were you doing? Truly? “I’m okay, I guess. I’ve just been… stressed. But who isn’t?” You shrug. “I’m a single mom, working at a bakery 24/7 and when she has her days off, she spends them with her kid.” You tell.
This leads to Spencer’s next question. “Will, uh,” Spencer clears his throat. “Will Ellie’s dad be making an appearance at this party?” You sigh, rubbing your temples, something you did often before talking about your ex. “He promised he’ll try but that’s code for ‘maybe not’.”
Spencer frowns and you shake your head, “I just wish he could be a good dad for once. Show up on time, be there for his kid. No matter what happened between us, I still want Ellie to have her dad around. Just the other day, she was asking if she even had one.” The thought made Spencer upset and even brought you back to tears again, when you thought about the day that she asked.
“Well, if you ask me, he’s missing out.” Spencer told and you could tell it was genuine. “On you and Ellie.” You give him a small smile, he always seemed to know what to say to make you feel better. It was Spencer’s specialty, being your personal therapist and trying to make you feel better in every way, shape or form.
You look at him. You wonder what he’s been through, where he’s been. It seems like his thoughts are misplaced, seem to be elsewhere. His eyes are hiding something and he’s keeping his guard up. And with this new look, this rough side of things, you wonder if he barely made it out alive.
“Spencer?” You ask and he hums, looking at you. “You’ve been gone for three months.” You say and he looks down at his hands. “Were you like… undercover or something?” He rubs his hands on his pants and he’s looking anywhere but you, now.
“Would it be alright if… maybe we didn’t talk about it?” Spencer asks and you nod, “Yeah, yeah, totally. I get it.” And you did, there were things about you that you were hiding from Spencer, too. “I’ll tell you eventually, it’s just… it’s still fresh.” He admitted. You nodded, “Of course.” You’d been patient and you’d wait until he was comfortable and ready to tell you where he was for those three months.
“Uh, I should— I should go.” Spencer tells, standing fully and beginning to walk towards your door before looking back at you. “Does Ellie still like princesses? I want to get her a gift.” He tells and you nod, “She’s into fairies now, but she’ll love anything you get her. You totally don’t need to get her anything, by the way.”
“Nonsense,” Spencer shakes his head. “What time is the party on Saturday?”
“At two.” You smile. “I will hopefully be there.” Spencer says.
He opens your door, you following behind as you watch him go out into the hall. “Thanks for letting us use your eggs.” You say, handing him back the carton of eggs. He’d only had about two left now. “It’s no problem. Anything for Ellie, right?” You nod in agreement, “Anything for Ellie.”
You both exchange your goodbyes and Spencer goes back to his apartment and you shut your door. You smile to yourself as you get ready to settle down and relax.
You think of Spencer as you do so. Since the year you’ve lived here, you may have harbored a crush on the man. And why wouldn’t you fall for him? Spencer was such a good guy. He was trustworthy, he was more of a dad to Ellie than her own father was. But you knew better. Spencer had known your baggage, how could he be attracted to you? A single mother, who could barely pay her rent. As much as you wanted to be loved — the way you deserved to be — that was just never gonna happen. And that was the way it was gonna have to be, unfortunately. You’d rather have him as a friend than ever blow it with him.
But little did you know, Spencer was other side of the walls, thinking about you. He’d always had a thing for you. You were so caring and kind and wonderful. Not to mention your little girl, who had so easily won Spencer’s heart with her charm. Why wouldn’t he like you? But he knew what it would lead to. After Maeve, he pretty much believed he wasn’t capable of love again. You proved him wrong. But after him being gone for three months — due to him being at Milburn Correctional Facility, being framed for a crime he didn’t commit — he supposed that would be too much to put on you. And he didn’t want you carrying that his baggage when it was already so heavy.
If only you two knew what the other was thinking.

ik it was intended primarily for funny show reasons but shassie is just a crazy dichotomy. Guy with commitment issues vs guy who commits too hard. Guy with no dad vs guy with too much dad. Dad!Spencer forgetting to take a hair clip out of his hair that his daughter put in earlier that morning 🤭 and nobody telling him until he goes home LMAO
Georgia has a cutesie little routine with her dad, he does her hair and she does his.
This morning Spencer has spent the better half of twenty minutes braiding her hair back and out of her face.
“Daddy, can you put the ribbons in today? The orange ones, please?” It would clash with her outfit but who is Spencer to deny her that?
“Course Georgia, on both braids or one tying them both together?”
He likes giving her choices like this, letting her decide little things so she feels she has a say. Spencer likes her to be knowledgeable and a little independent- but not too much, he still wants her to need you both.
“Invididually,” he smiles at how she says it and nods.
“Individually, you got it.” He ties the ribbons in cute little bows and then pats her back. “All done, go get breakfast with your mom.”
She starts to hop off the stool she’s stood on and then stops. “Wait. Daddy?” Her eyebrows pulled tight together as she reaches in her hair bag.
“Yes, sweetheart?” Spencer looks equally perturbed.
“Can I put this one in your hair? So we match?” He nods and kneels down, letting her little hands push back his hair and set the orange clip in his hair.
Breakfast is busy, as it usually is with a five year old. She wants waffles and you and Spencer spend a little time coaxing yogurt and fruit on her plate.
You pack her lunch kit, pack yours and then Spencer’s and you’re all rushing out of the door- you need to beat traffic.
You kiss Spencer goodbye and you both rush off- you to drop Georgia and Spencer to the bau.
His day doesn’t get less busy, an all paperwork day, so he’s stuck at his desk and while he gets weird looks from Derek, he doesn’t take it on much.
It’s not unusual at all.
“Okay guys, get home. We’re not getting much else and we’re all updated on the paperwork.” Hotch makes the announcement around four thirty and Spencer sighs, cracking his knuckles as he stretches in his chair.
“Alright, I’m headed home guys. Georgia started fractions today and that math is never good for six year olds.”
He’s packing his back and catches a look of himself in his laptop’s reflection before he closes it.
“Oh shit,” he mumbles, turning round Emily and JJ. “Did I have it in all day?”
They both nod, JJ smiles gently. “It’s a good look Spence, a nice touch from Georgia.”
“She’s getting better at gripping your hair back. Fine motor fully developed.” Emily compliments.
He blushes but doesn’t even bother to take it out, knowing she’s going to love it that he’s kept it in all day.

——————————————————🩷—————————————————
Spencer had been away for three days working on a difficult case but there wasn’t a day he hadn’t called you before starting and ending his day. He told you he had been calling because he missed you but you know it’s really because he missed your perfect daughter.
You and Spencer had the most gorgeous daughter, Delilah Reid, she’s four years old and a total daddy’s girl, she asks you multiple times a day if she can call when Spencer is away working on a case and when you explain to her why she can’t call it makes her cry but she stops when you remind her that her daddy saves lots of people. He is her hero.
Spencer had texted you a few hours ago to let you know he was now boarding the plane to come home as well as telling you he missed both you and Delilah and couldn’t wait to kiss you so when you saw his call coming through on your phone you weren’t surprised.
“Hi Spence,” You said into the phone as you went around the house putting Delilah’s toys away, “Good flight?”
“Hi baby, yeah good flight but I have some bad news,” Spencer replied running his hand through his fluffy curls.
“You have to stay late and do reports?” You groaned into the phone.
“Worse, Hotch got another call on the flight, bad case in New York, we leave in 2 hours. I’m so sorry.”
“It’s okay honey, it’s not your fault,” You were glad you weren’t FaceTiming right now because the massive frown on your face would make him feel worse and he didn’t deserve that.
“Can I be the worst husband ever right now and ask a favour of you?” Spencer asked.
“You’re hardly the worst husband. Shoot.”
“Could you bring me some clean clothes to swap over in my overnight bag and please bring Delilah I miss her so much I feel like I’m missing everything.”
“I can do that of course, I want to see you I miss you. You aren’t missing much with Delilah except a very messy playroom and a few princess stories at night.”
“Not the princess stories they are my favourite.”
You laugh, “Alright Spence, I’ll bring one for you to read to her before you leave.”
“Deal. Don’t be too long I miss you,” You can practically see Spencer’s pout just by hearing his tone.
“You need to let me hang up then.”
“Fine, be quick, I love you and be safe,” he blew a kiss into the phone making your heart flutter.
“I love you too, extra safe I promise,” You said before hanging up and getting his things together for him.
You knocked on the door of your daughter’s bedroom lightly to see if she was still napping, after getting no sleepy response from her you opened the door quietly climbing into the bed beside her as much as you could with the little space.
“Baby,” You stroke one of the brunette strands of her hair from her face.
“Mommy? Is Daddy home?” She mumbled sleepily to you.
“No baby, we are going to visit Daddy at work. Do you want to pick a book for him to read to you?” You played with the ends of her wavy hair.
“Really? I love Daddy’s work! Yeah, I pick a book,” she says trying to scramble out the duvet.
“Daddy’s got more people to help though baby so we can’t stay too long, just until he has to leave.”
Delilah pouts, “But mommy I miss Daddy he’s been away like a million days.”
You laugh, “I know baby, he’s sorry and so am I but we can do some fun things.”
“He’ll be back for Halloween?”
“Yes he will be back before Halloween sweetie,” You kissed her head, “Get ready and we will leave.”
“Can I stay in my fluffy pyjamas? Please,” Delilah dragged out the ‘e’ at the end of please.
“If you want to,” You smiled at your daughter picking her up to help her off the bed so she could pick a book to take.
——————
You helped Delilah get out of the car and passed her the princess book before swinging Spencer’s bag onto your shoulder and carrying Delilah at the same time.
You signed in at reception, Spencer had called to tell them you were dropping by, usually, they don’t let people come in without an employee badge but you had become friends with the receptionist after the many times you had dropped by to see Spencer in the times you were dating and while you had been married.
Once you were in the elevator you put Delilah down, she couldn’t get lost going from the elevator to the bullpen since they were opposite each other and she had been there enough times to know the way.
When the doors opened you spotted Spencer waiting on the other side of the open glass door. He knew his daughter would run out once she saw him and that’s exactly what she did. The small girl let go of your hand and ran towards her Dad the book still in her hand.
“Daddy!” She squeaked, you walking not far behind watching them as they collided in a hug.
“Hi Princess,” Spencer picked her up and spun her around. Hotch, Emily and JJ were watching from across the room smiling. Emily could see how much happier Spencer was as soon as he was talking to you or back with both you and your daughter.
“You should let him bring them to New York with us and maybe give him a day off while we are there,” Emily whispered to Hotch.
“I’ll speak to him about it,” Hotch spoke while nodding.
“I missed you, Daddy, don’t go, why do you keep leaving me and Mommy?” Delilah pouted with tears in her eyes.
Spencer held Delilah’s hair out of her face placing kisses over her face, “I’m sorry baby, I don’t want to leave you.”
You sighed seeing the tears almost spilling from Delilah’s eyes, “Honey I told you Daddy saves people.”
“But what if I need him,” Delilah started crying both your and Spencer’s hearts breaking as well as the others watching.
“Reid,” Hotch called Spencer signalling for him to come over.
Spencer tried to pass Delilah over to you but the girl cried harder refusing to let go of him.
“You can all come,” Hotch said walking up the stairs towards the office.
Once you entered with your husband and daughter who had stopped crying Hotch smiled, “Emily made a point to me that you haven’t been at your best recently being apart from your wife and daughter and proposed I talk to you about bringing them to New York with us, that way we can call you when we need but you can also do some exploring and be with your family,” Hotch said.
“Really? That would be great!” Spencer said.
“That really would be, thank you, Aaron,” You said.
“We will pick you up in an hour on the way to the jet.”
“The only thing is Delilah has never flown before, I don’t want her to get upset and distract you from your case,” You added.
“She’s no bother.”
“I’m a big girl I will be fine I going to eat a big pizza,” Delilah squealed, “Let me go Daddy I need to tell Auntie Emily and Auntie JJ,” she gasped, “Can we visit Nana and Auntie Elle and her girlfriend and her kitten too!”
“Slow down baby, we need to go home and get ready before we can do anything,” You crouched down to pull Delilah into a hug.
“Kay Kay, me and Daddy make plans on the plane!”
You all laughed before Spencer ruffled her hair with his hand, “Okay little princess.”
The three of you went back to your house to get ready, you already felt a little stressed about how little time you had to pack. Packing usually took you at least a day to make sure you had a list of everything you needed and you weren’t leaving anything behind.
Spencer stood behind you rubbing your shoulders, “I can tell you’re stressed.”
“Sorry, I just don’t know what to pack. What’s the weather going to be like? What are we going to do there? Fancy or casual dinners? I guess casual because Lilah is with us,” You rambled.
“We won’t be there more than four days, the weather is the right temperature for jeans and t-shirts, pack a jumper for the mornings, maybe take a coat in case it rains one day but nothing too thick,” he helps you out.
“Thank you, Baby,” You grab his face leaving a gentle peck on his lips before returning to your suitcase to finish your packing while Spencer went to help Delilah.
——————
You sat opposite Delilah and Spencer sat beside her on the private jet. The small brunette had her small hands on either side of the window watching the takeoff and the city becoming several long fluffy clouds.
“It’s pretty!” Delilah gasped.
“Yeah, it is isn’t it?” You replied.
“Daddy, do you want to see too?” Delilah asked him.
“I’ve seen it lots of times, you enjoy it,” He ran his hand over her hair before moving to sit next to you.
“Hi,” You move a little closer to him in the seat.
“Hi,” He takes your hand and laces your fingers together.
You rest your head on his shoulder your eyes fluttering closed for a second as he rubbed his thumb on the back of his hand.
“Are you okay?” He asked. You were sometimes a nervous flyer but you didn’t want to show it right now especially in front of your daughter for her first flight.
“I’m doing fine, this plane shakes less than a commercial aircraft,” You glanced up at him smiling.
“I didn’t get to give you a proper hello earlier,” Spencer leaned his head down connecting his lips with yours in a quick kiss that unfortunately didn’t go unnoticed by the young brunette girl.
“EW!” She shouted rather loudly, “You guys can’t kiss!”
“Why not? We love each other,” Spencer tells Delilah, “And you need to be a bit quieter baby. They are working,” He points to his team.
“It’s gross to kiss,” Delilah stuck her tongue out.
Spencer gave your lips one last quick peck before grinning at Delilah who was sitting with her arms folded and pouting.
Around halfway through the flight, the plane hit a small rough patch of turbulence making you panic slightly and Delilah started crying. Spencer wanted to comfort the both of you but you knew it was more important for him to look after your child and besides you always remembered the fact Spencer had told you about planes that they’re more likely to crash as you were taking off or as you are landing which made you feel a little bit better not by much but it was something.
You watched as Spencer moved Delilah onto his lap and rubbed her back trying to calm her down. When her breaths became more controlled he wiped the tears from her cheeks and placed a kiss on her nose whispering, ‘You’re okay baby I’ll always keep you safe,’ to her.
Seeing how he was with her always made your heart warm and melt in your chest, there really could be no better father for any child except maybe one that wasn’t in the FBI but you would never want anyone else as your husband or as Delilah’s father.
You left your seat to go to grab a coffee, Emily and JJ were standing by the coffee machine talking and quite obviously flirting. You were closer to JJ than you were to Emily but not for any reason other than JJ’s son Micheal and Delilah went to the same daycare.
“Hi,” You said squeezing around them to get a mug from the cupboard.
“Hi,” They replied at the same time before quickly turning their heads and smiling brightly at each other to acknowledge what they had just done.
You laughed, “Excuse me,” You directed at Emily who was standing by the coffee machine.
She moved to the side, “Is Delilah okay? We heard her crying, was it the turbulence?”
“Yeah she’s fine, she was just a little scared because she’s never experienced it before,” You answered with a small smile, “Spence calmed her down.”
“We saw, he’s an amazing dad. He was so good with Henry when he was younger too I’m so happy he has a kid of his own now,” JJ smiled.
Your smile grew hearing JJ say that. “He is an amazing dad,” You looked over at your husband, “He’s great. Spencer’s birthday is coming up and I really wanted to take him to dinner while we are in New York, Could you possibly watch Delilah tonight? It won’t be late because I know you will both have to be up early to start the case.”
“Oh yes! We’d love to look after her, she was so cute last time trying to read us her princess book,” Emily said.
“I might have to prep a few bits for the case but Em will be fine on her own with her she’s really good with the boys at home,” JJ said.
“Okay, thank you guys so much,” You took your coffee and returned to your seat.
——————
It was already 4:30 pm when the plane landed in New York and the hotel you were staying in was about 15 minutes away. Delilah had fallen asleep just before you went into the SUV, you were hoping she’d sleep until you got to the hotel so she’d be less irritable when you told her you and Spencer were going out for dinner.
You rested your head on Spencer’s shoulder, “I have a surprise for you.”
“What is it?” Spencer raised his eyebrow in curiosity.
“I’m taking you out to dinner,” You ran your hand up and down his arm.
“Thank you, How come?” He had a big smile on his face.
“Early birthday dinner, Em and JJ are going to watch Delilah while we are out.”
“Do you think they can watch her a little longer after dinner too?” Spencer whispered into your ear.
Your cheeks clouded with blush and a little laugh left your mouth, “Stop that Spence.”
“I didn’t say anything wrong,” He said with a smug smile and a little smirk.
——————
You and Spencer walked into Carmine’s Italian restaurant hand in hand.
Once you were sat down at the table waiting for your food, he reached across the table and started drawing circles with his finger on top of your hand.
“Thank you for this,” He tucked your hair behind your ear with his other hand.
“Thank you for being you, you’re such a good Dad and husband Spence I don’t tell you enough. Happy early birthday,” You leaned across the table to kiss him.
“You tell me more than enough love but I don’t think I tell you enough that you’re an amazing Mom and wife I don’t what either of us would do without you.”
Once your food arrived you ate and made small talk together until going back to the hotel to collect your beautiful daughter from JJ and Emily.

Merry Christmas, my sweeties! Santa T is giving you a present because of how much I love you all!
“Mama, I have my Christmas list ready!” Matilda announced, a bright smile on her face revealing the front tooth that the tooth fairy had recently come to take. She was a spitting image of Spencer, beautiful honey colored irises and soft brunette curls that framed her face, not to mention her intellect and her determination that no doubt her father had an influence on.
“Your Christmas list? You’re early,” You smiled fondly as you looked over at the flower filled calendar on the wall closest to the stove, your coffee cup held comfortably between your hands. “Let me hear it, come on!” You urge on, an excited grin on your face.
You always loved Christmas, however having Matilda just made the holidays so much better. Nothing compared to seeing her excitement whenever you’d place wrapped gifts under your Christmas tree, or when you’d ask her to help you make Christmas treats that her and Spencer would end up eating just days after they were made.
You wouldn’t trade it for anything.
“Well. I would like an American Girl doll, Rebecca Rubin to be exact.” Not a surprise. She loved dolls, her father spoiling her with any accessory or set she asked for. “And then I would like some light up sneakers, please. Sam has some at school and I think they are so cool!” She continued. The rest of the things she lifted were usual for a little girl. Until she got to the last thing on that list.
“And then I want a little brother or sister.” She concluded, a wide grin on your face. The mere suggestion had you nearly choking on the mouthful of coffee, your eyes widening some. “Uncle Luke and aunt Penny said that I have to write it in my list so it happens!”
Penelope and Luke. Classic.
“A baby brother or sister?” You repeated, watching those beautiful curls bounce as the kindergartner nodded her head. “You do know that they won’t be here in time for Christmas if that happens, right?” You asked, wanting to break it gently to her that even if she got what she wanted, it would be well past Christmas before she got a sibling.
“Oh. I know. Babies grow in mommy’s bellies for nine whole months. Which seems like a long time but I think it’ll go by fast! Oh please, mama?! A baby would be cute and cuddly, even whenever they are cranky!”
The begging was tugging at your heart. She really wanted this, didn’t she? You and Spencer were financially stable enough for you to stay home while he worked with the BAU, not to mention that you both could definitely handle Matilda and a new baby. “You know I have to talk to daddy about this before we make a decision.”
After that, the idea of another baby was stuck in your mind. Your first pregnancy was rough, however you still really did enjoy the process of growing a future scholar who would change the world. Just thinking about it had you reminiscing, especially when it came to being pregnant. You could remember every appointment, the announcement to your friends and families, all the excitement that you and Spencer felt with every heartbeat and every little kick.
Your husband had gotten home relatively early on a Saturday evening after a long case in Tampa, Florida. He was toeing his shoes off by the front door in an effort to surprise you and Matilda, the two of you unaware he was even coming home today. You were in the kitchen making dinner while your shared daughter was at the table, happily coloring in her new coloring book.
It was a blissful sight, the domesticity of it all bringing normalcy to Spencer’s busy and sometimes abnormal feeling life. “You two look peaceful,” He decided to speak up, Matilda quickly turning in her chair to look at her father. With a wide smile and teary eyes, she was quickly leaping from the chair to run into your husband’s expecting arms. “Hi!” He chuckled fondly while kissing her cheek sweetly.
“I missed you!” She whined out, keeping a tight hold on her father. “I thought you weren’t gonna home until after Christmas!” She added on, making Spencer’s heart drop. He loved his job but he hated being away for what could’ve been weeks at a time. That was the hardest part.
“Hey, I’m home now and I’m gonna be here for Christmas. I promise. In fact,” He was picking up Matilda while resting her on his hip. “I need to see your Christmas list!” He grinned while bouncing his daughter. “Mama, where’s the list?” Spencer then asked as he turned his attention to you.
“Oh, mama needs to talk to you about that!” The six year old in his arms perked up, making Spencer look at you with an amused, yet questionable look.
“Talk to me? About what? Don’t tell me that Tilly wants to get a car or something already.” Spencer teased. A car might’ve been easier convincing depending on how he felt about expanding the family.
“Not exactly a car,” You laughed a bit while grabbing the list that had been neatly folded and stuck to the fridge with a magnet. “She wants a new American girl doll, a new accessory set to go with said doll, light up sneakers, a dollhouse,” You paused while reading over the last item. “And a baby brother or sister.”
Spencer felt like the items on the list were easy enough. A doll, some accessories, a dollhouse and sneakers. He could knock that out with just one shopping trip. However whenever he heard the last item, his eyes nearly bulged out of his head. “A new brother or sister, huh?” He asked slowly, glancing at the little girl who smiled widely.
“I know the baby won’t be here for Christmas, daddy.” Matilda just knew by the look in his eyes that he didn’t wanna break the news she’d have to wait for that. Her reassurance had him taking in a breath of relief though. That little girl was too smart for her own good.
“Well. That’s a big decision. You think you’re ready to be a big sister? Cause babies are a lot of work.” Spencer asked, a smile on his face at her sheer excitement he was entertaining the idea. “They cry a lot. Plus, they always need a lot of attention. That’ll mean that sometimes mama and daddy will be busy with the baby.” He said softly while rubbing her back.
“I know and it’s okay! Babies need more help because they can’t really eat on their own or go potty in the bathroom, so that’s why you and mommy will need to pay extra attention sometimes. But babies are small and cute! And they always want cuddles!” Now that sounded like something Penelope Garcia would say of course she’d gotten to Matilda about the idea. She was just saying at the office that she was wanting another baby around.
You offered a smile. “Well, it sounds like you’ve put a lot of thought into it, Tilly! You know that me and dad have to talk about it though, as grownups.” You added, although judging by your husband’s wide smile and the twinkle in his eye, he was already sold on the entire Christmas list. Well, maybe this was easier to convince than a new car.
After dinner and baths were in order, it wasn’t long before you and Spencer were tucking Matilda into bed for the night. Gently closing the door behind you both, Spencer finally turned his attention to you. “A new baby. Wow..” He brought up the idea immediately, his arms gently wrapping around your waist. “How do you feel about the idea?”
You smiled, body leaning back against his as you let out a soft hum of content. “Well, at first I was wary. Then the more I thought about it.. The more I really wanted it.” You said softly, head tilting up to face him more. “I mean, I think we’ve got this parenting thing down. Plus, I miss being pregnant and having a baby around. I feel like it’s going to be a positive change for us. Parents of two.”
That was all Spencer needed to hear to have him sold completely. “I agree. We are pretty good at this.” He chuckled a bit while moving to press a kiss to the top of your head. “It’s always fun trying too, huh? Maybe All our practicing will pay off.” He teased, making you laugh as you were playfully hitting his arm. “Hey! I’m just saying what we are both thinking!” He laughed in return.
The both of you had retired to your bedroom for the night, gently closing the door behind you both. “It’s so good to have you home. I’ve missed you.” You sighed, offering a smile as you were heading over to sit on the edge of your shared bed. “It’s just not the same without you home but I know you have to save the world.” You smiled fondly, watching as your husband was shedding from his clothes.
“I know, honey. I miss being home with you and Tilly more than anything when I have to be gone.” Spencer expressed his own feelings before heading over to you, kneeling in front of you with a soft smile. “But I’m glad to be home now,” He began, pressing kisses to your legs while getting settled between them. His hands were working on the button of your shorts before tugging them down your legs. “Besides, I’m gonna be here for the holidays and I even took the time off to make sure of it.” He hummed, his kisses moving to your inner thighs.
“Working on the list early, I see.” You teased, brushing the mop of brunette curls from your husband’s face as he was playfully nipping on your plush inner thigh, lifting his head.
“Guilty. I feel like this is the most expensive present Tilly is getting.” He teased, the both of you sharing a little giggle before he was going right back to where he started.
Those kisses ended with your hips being tugged close to the end of the bed, his tongue lapping over your clothed clit. “God, I’ve missed you.” He murmured, hands working to tug your panties down your legs. Spencer was absolutely pleased with the sight of your glistening pussy, mouth salivating at the sight. It had been far too long for his liking.
“Pretty girl. You look like you’ve missed me too.” He purred, tongue moving to flick over your throbbing bud, only chuckling as you were already clutching his hair. He didn’t make an effort to tease you long, tongue already delving into the warmth of your cunt as he was so focused on drinking every ounce of your essence, taking whatever you had to give him.
“Spencer, fuck.” You squeaked, legs practically locking around his head to keep him in place as he was too drunk on lapping and sucking at your desperate pussy. The thought of a new baby excited him in more ways than one.
There was the calm and innocent way that just had him thrilled to have a new baby and expand your beautiful family. Then there was the dirty and not so innocent side of him that knew there would be a lot of nights where he was stuffing your pussy just in an effort to get that positive test. Just the thought of his cum dripping down your trembling thighs was enough to have him hard as a rock, his cock begging for attention while he was so focused on giving you all of his.
While his tongue feverishly lapped at your wetness, his hands were gripping your hips just a little tighter. Truth be told, Spencer could get off merely from cunnilingus alone. He fed off of your pleasure, the way you would shove his head more into your weeping cunt for more was enough to make his cock twitch in his boxers right now.
Although even through all the excitement, he was soon pulling away from your pussy much to both of your dissatisfaction. “I feel like I’m gonna cum in my boxers and I’m not wasting what I could be giving you,” He added on, breathing labored as he was quickly getting up to shed his boxers while you were quick to do away with your clothes on your torso, shirt and bra thrown somewhere out of sight and out of mind.
With one hand tugging at his cock, the other was quickly helping you scoot back on your bed, knowing you’d end up flying off if he dared pull you even just an inch closer from your current spot.
“Comfortable?” He asked, watching you simply grab his arm to pull him on top of you. You didn’t even mind the feeling of his body crushing you for a split second, you knew that you needed him, now. Spencer was adjusting himself into a more comfortable position on top of you, his hand sliding between your thighs. He collected some of your arousal on his fingers before holding them up to show them off to you.
You knew what was coming next, your mouth now open as you were waiting for the intrusion of his fingers. He learned it was the easiest way to keep you quiet when you needed to be. As you took the digits in your mouth, you were sucking on his fingers. “There we go.” Spencer praised as he was shifting, now pushing his leaking cock into your pussy with a soft groan.
“I love you.” He breathed, letting his hips slowly snap against yours just to build you up for what was to come. Your face was contorted in pleasure as you muffled an ‘I love you’ around his fingers in return.
The thought of you being pregnant was bringing out an animalistic side of your normal gentle husband. He loved seeing you pregnant with your first, it made him feel like he was finally contributing to society in the aspect of bringing another potential genius into the world who would do amazing things. The way you looked swollen with his child filled him with pride.
It was also a bragging right. Yes, he had your hand in marriage but he also cemented the fact you were his. You were getting filled with his cum, begging him to ravage you the way you deserved. He was the only one who could make you feel good.
The thought of you being pregnant with his second child was enough to make his thrusts get harder and faster. It was the ultimate act of love to carry his child, to raise a family with him. The ultimate act of intimacy of allowing him to know the pleasures of a family and a successful marriage.
You were squirming underneath him, eyes rolling to the back of your head as Spencer was all too focused on the images flooding his mind. “I’m gonna cum.” He panted. “You want me to fill you up? Give you a baby? Fuck.” Cursing was pretty rare for Spencer but just the mere slip of a curse word had your pussy clenching around his cock, signaling you were ready as well.
With a few more sloppy snaps of his thrusts, you could feel the warmth of his spent flooding your cunt, your legs trembling as the sensation was enough to have you reaching your climax. “Fuck.” You panted, your husband’s fingers now being pulled out of your mouth.
His face was flushed, brunette curls plastered to his sweaty forehead as he looked down at you. “You know, I wish we had this idea before. Christmas is coming up so soon, we won’t even be able to get a positive test for her in time for the holiday if we get lucky after this time.”
“I think that Tilly is gonna be happy either way, to be fairly honest. You should’ve seen the way she looked at me when she was asking for a new sibling. She was so excited.” You recalled, smiling in content as you were slowly, but surely, catching your breath.
With soft eyes, Spencer leaned down to press a sweet kiss against your lips. “I’m really happy she brought it up first. I’ve been wanting another baby for a while but I didn’t want you to feel obligated.” The confession had your hand lightly swatting at your husband’s chest.
“Why didn’t you talk to me before?! I never would’ve felt obligated. I’ve always wanted a big family, you know that.”
The reassurance had your husband chuckling fondly. “I know, I know. I promise that for the next little Reid, I’ll get to you before our daughter.” He teased, nose nuzzling into your cheek before he was pushing himself out of bed. “Let’s go get you cleaned up, mama.”
—--
It was currently the third week of January, Matilda freshly back in school for the second semester. It was after you dropped Tilly off at school that you were feeling off. You’d been sick the past week or so, mostly just chalking it up to be a bug Matilda seemingly brought home. The more awful you felt, the more you were worrying. Being pregnant wasn’t a problem at all, however the way you would get your hopes up would be.
You’d pushed the idea back for a while, it wasn’t until you were sick for the fifth time that you figured that the test would be better than nothing. You’d only gotten one negative, however with the brain of your husband and his facts about conception, he still gave you some hope.
The sound of the timer going off in the bathroom snapped you out of your thoughts. It was now or never. As you approached the bathroom, you could feel your heart begin to race. If you were pregnant, that would be the best little surprise for your little family. If not, well, you’d at least get to be heartbroken in peace.
Taking in a deep breath and mustering up all of your courage, you were lifting the test from the sink. You felt like you were going to be sick from a mixture of your ailment as well as the nerves. You exhaled the breath you took in seconds before, eyes fixed on the test.
Pregnant.
You nearly fainted, free hand covering your mouth from the surprise. Pregnant, you’re pregnant. Pregnant!!!!
You were thrilled, the test being tucked away in its box before you were hiding it away. You were going to have to show Spencer and Matilda when they got home. You didn’t have the strength to keep it a huge secret and put a surprise together, they needed to know as soon as possible.
Spencer had gotten to go home early in order to pick up Matilda, something rare that Emily gave him the chance to do considering he was away so much as is. If only those two knew what they were coming home to.
You were just getting finished with a snack for your daughter whenever you heard the sound of keys jingling in the door. It’s now or never!
“We are home!” The little voice called from the living room, the child taking off her coat and backpack before making sure to hang them up.
“Hi you two.” You offered a smile, pressing a kiss to your daughter’s cheek, followed by a quick peck on your husband’s lips. “Tilly, I have you a snack.” She hummed fondly, watching the little brunette hurry to the table. “You might wanna sit down as well,” You informed your husband, who raised an eyebrow.
Without question, he’d approached the table before sitting himself down. “Are we in trouble?” He teased, making you roll your eyes fondly.
“No. I just have something I need to tell you both.” You hummed, grabbing the wrapped box from the counter before placing it on the table. “I found this in the closet. It was addressed to you two, I think we forgot it around Christmas.”
“Forgot it? Mama, we never forget presents.” Matilda spoke around a mouthful of apple slices, although her curiosity was piqued as she leaned against the table. “Open it, daddy!” She urged.
As the colorful wrapping paper was peeled away, the male was opening the box. He knew what it was, however he wanted Matilda to have the first big reaction. The minute that the stick was on the table, you could practically see Matilda’s eyes pop out of their sockets from surprise. “Does that say pregnant?!” She asked, looking at her mother with a wide smile. “There’s a baby?!”
Her excitement made you want to cry your eyes out. “There’s a baby!” You gushed happily. “Now, I still have to go to the doctor because I don’t have specifics just yet,” You began, although your daughter was all too happy to quickly run into your body, arms wrapped around your torso.
“We are gonna have a baby!!!!”
