Writing quick drabbles about the obscure blorbos I kept forgetting to write about 2/4
Tw for mentions of pregnancy/pregnant reader, also afab reader
got mega brain rot about Latrelle from on my block literally out of nowhere for like two days straight so uh. specifically dad!latrelle. you've had an on and off relationship for years, snce you were teens. you've gotten him out of trouble more times than either of you could count, and everytime he asks you why you keep sticng your neck out for him, you tell him the same thing. I care about you. You don't deserve that. I don't want bad things to happen to you. it cuts him to the quick every time. he thinks you're the best thing to happen to him, and even through your rough patches, he doesn't want to lose you, doesn't want you to be with anyone else. so you keep finding your way back to each other. you think it's over for good when you move away for college, until one day he shows up on your doorstep. he tried to live withuot you, he really did, but he can't. he tried to move on, he dated around and bounced from hookup to hookup but each time it only confirmed that he wants you. you got pregnant with your first child not long after, and had your second after you graduated. The girls have your attitude and their dad's smile, and you both love them more than you knew was possible. when you were pregnant with your first, you had a really serious conversation with Latrelle about how you wanted to prioritize being able to parent your kid together over anything else, especially after seeing how much damage having inconsistent or unharmonious parents can cause. You've seen it in your friends, in Latrelle, maybe even in yourself. Because of that you insist you shouldn't pursue a relationship with each other, you shouldn't take that risk when you've been so on and off in the past. Kids need consistency. Latrelle respects that, he respects every boundary you set, but that doesn't mean he's ever stopped loving you or is ever going to. He doesn't even have to say it, you can see it on his face all the time. Your daughters third birthday is when you finally crack, falling into his arms after he rescues you from your insane extended family and protects your daughter from overhearing your grandmother say some really unkind things about you. He’s such an amazing dad to your little girl, she looks up to him so much and he deserves every bit of it. You think you might be able to move on from your night together, you might be able to ignore the way his gaze lingers, the way everything down to his body language tells you he needs you, he desires you more than anything. When you find out you're pregnant again, it feels like the biggest most obvious sign you've ever gotten. You had been safe, you had been on birth control both times you got pregnant, and you realize you can't fight your feelings anymore. You told Latrelle you didn't want him to be with anyone else when you first got together, and he dropped everyone else he'd been talking to without a second thought. You told him kids need consistency, and he’s been consistent, showing up for everything, reading bedtime stories, picking her up from daycare, doing her hair and painting her nails and having tea parties. Your friends have been pushing you together since they met him, telling you if he wanted to he would, and Latrelle does. All of this culminates into you texting him to come over, that you need to talk. Once your daughter is in bed and asleep, you have one of the most important conversations of both your lives. You tell him there are three things you need to tell him: your sink is leaking again, you're pregnant again, and you think you're in love with him again. By morning, your sink is fixed, and your daughter is over the moon to find out that she's getting a sister and both parents permanently under one roof for Christmas.

POWER TRIP !!
Summary: When Miles is forced on a vacation with his mother and a bunch of people from his mom’s past, he expects to be miserable the entire time. But little does he know, you’re lots of fun to be around…
Pairing: Earth 42 Miles x Fem!Black!Reader (Both are 17)
Notes: My friend did not have time to translate for me so I had to take matters into my own hands and use SpanishDict and DeepL. If the translations are shit, please correct me in the comments. I’d really appreciate it. Also, If I mentioned anything about Miles’ hair being in a low ponytail or a bun, I meant what I said. He reminds me of Latrelle from on my block so his hair is very versatile in my mind💀 With that being said, I hope you all enjoy!
Warning(s): Implied Grumpy x Sunshine trope, profanity of course, Rio is definitely an instigator (she means well), Miles is annoyed for majority of the story, rushed relationship, Y/n’s dad is annoying, teenagers in love (you wish that was you huh?) Let me know if I forgot anything!!
When Miles’ mother bursts into his room, speaking in frantic Spanglish about how Miles needs to pack a bag, he has to stop and look at the expression on her face to realize nothing is wrong and he doesn’t need to kill anyone tonight.
His mother tells him that a few of her closest friends from high school had found her Facebook and wanted to meet up, and he couldn’t stay home alone after that stunt he pulled last week when she had to work extra hours at the hospital. And not only did he have to go, but he had to bring his younger cousin Dillon as well so his uncle Aaron could “handle some business.”
Miles just sighed, knowing he couldn’t argue with his mother and began to pack his bags. Three days later, him, Dillon, and his mother had landed in Orlando and were standing in the lobby of an overly colorful hotel. As his mother was checking in, Miles realized he’d rather be anywhere else.
After receiving their right room numbers, the three of them walked to their rooms to settle in before returning to the lobby, where all hell broke loose.
His mother had made the decision to scream and approach two other women who were also screaming. Miles could only shake his head and wish to go home. He thought about escape routes, ride arrangements, and even the possibility of staying at Uncle Aaron's house.
However, his inner thoughts were interrupted as his face was forced into someone's chest.
“Lil’ man!” A random chubby man yelled, his hand tangled into Miles curly ponytail. “You was this big last time I seen you! You done grew some! How old you is?”
“I’m seventeen.” Miles said, his voice muffled by the guy’s chest.
“Seventeen! Damn, how time flies by. You remember me?”
“Nah.” Miles said curtly.
“Miles.” His mother started, raising an eyebrow.
“I don’t, ma. ¿Querías que mintiera?”
“Watch the attitude, Miles.” She said, thumping him on the forehead before embracing the strange man and the two screaming women. “These are my friends from high school. Michael, Linda, and Nicole.”
“Nice to meet you.” Dillon and Miles said in unison.
Linda grabbed Michael’s hand before gesturing to the children behind her. “These are our kids; Y/n and Jacob.”
Nicole then joined in. “And these are my sons, Jonny and Tito.”
Miles looks to each kid as they’re being introduced, but he lets his eyes linger on Y/n a little longer until Tito spoke.
“En realidad, mi nombre es Salvador. No Tito. I don’t know why they still call me that.”
Miles chuckles. “I feel you.”
“So how old are you all now?” Miles’ mother asks, squeezing her friends’ children into a hug.
The kids all name their age, and Rio gets excited immediately.
“Y/n and Miles you’re the same age! And Jacob you’re the same age as Dillon! You can all be such great friends. ¡Qué amoroso!”
The adults talk about their kids closeness in age for a second before Rio opens her mouth again.
“Papá, sé amable y ayúdala con sus maletas.”
“No necesita mi ayuda, mami.”
“Miles.”
“Vale, vale…”
“Y/n!” Rio yelled excitedly, gaining your attention. “Miles will help you with your bags.”
You waved your hands and shook your head frantically. “Oh, Mrs. Morales it’s okay! My dad can-“
“Oh don’t worry about him, I insist! Go, Miles.”
Miles sighs as silently as he can and then grabs all four of Y/n’s bags effortlessly, looking at her to lead the way to her room.
“Come back quickly!” Michael yelled, fixing his voice to make it sound deeper than it already was. “Put the bags down and that’s all.”
“Okay, dad. Chill.”
Y/n and Miles walk in silence, never speaking a word to each other although Y/n's stare spoke volumes.
They return to the lobby mostly silently after setting the bags down, with Y/n opening and closing her mouth a few times but never really managing to say anything but “do you like bread?” Which earned her a side eye from Miles.
When they got back, Jonny told them what the adults had decided.
“We’re going to Disney springs.”
Together with a few other hotel guests, the ten of them boarded the Disney shuttle bus and left.
When they got there, the adults made the decision to play a game of rock, paper, scissors to determine where they would all have dinner tonight. Nicole won and decided to let the kids choose.
Michael made an attempt to bribe them into choosing the T-Rex Café, but they all side eyed him and chose Planet Hollywood.
When they arrived, a makeshift red carpet led up to the entryway. Somewhere in the middle, one of the employees offered to take a group photo of them.
Miles took three pictures, two of them courtesy of his mother who insisted they were pictures he should be taking.
One as a group, one with his mother, himself, and Dillon, and one with Y/n.
Both were a little awkward. The former had Rio kissing Miles on the face and pinching Dillon's cheek in public, while the latter… was an interesting thing to talk about.
After taking a picture with his mother and cousin, Miles was about to walk away when Mom stopped him and said
“Y/n! Would you like to take a picture with Miles?”
Miles was so shocked that he couldn’t speak, and Y/n would have dropped her phone had it not been for Jacob's fast reflexes.
“O-oh, no Mrs. Morales, he doesn’t even want to take a picture and I myself am so of tired of pictures, you know, with the flash and everything.”
“Girl don’t play with me.” Linda spoke, inserting herself into their conversation. “You’re a model. You do this for a living. Just take a quick picture with Miles and we can go.”
“Baby she don’t need to take a picture with no boys.” Michael whined, turning his wife to face him.
“You know he’s a good kid, Mike. He’s Rio’s son.”
Y/n's parents continued to argue as she nervously walked over to Miles on the carpet while Rio and the photographer instructed them to smile.
Although Miles didn't smile, he calmly wrapped his arm around Y/n, who jumped at the touch and stared up at him in shock.
“Smile for me, ángel.” Miles spoke lowly enough for only Y/n to hear, meeting her eyes and smirking.
After taking the photo, the photographer gave it to Rio and instructed them to enter the restaurant. Miles walked away from Y/n without another word.
After that awkward fiasco, the group entered the restaurant and were immediately welcomed and seated. Y/n ultimately found herself seated next to Miles, and she could not stop worrying about whether or not her chewing would be too loud. But instead of thinking in her head like normal people, Y/n muttered under her breath, a lot like Deku from My Hero Academia (ifykyk).
Miles noticed and chuckled to himself.
A server took their order a little while later, and a short while after that, they left to look around at the movie props and film scripts around the restaurant.
Later that night, the adults left their kids some money and went on a hot air balloon ride. Since Miles already had money of his own, he gave Dillon the borrowed money and then walked away alone.
Well, at least he thought he was alone.
When he realized he wasn’t, he nearly backhanded the intruder, but they were quicker than he'd thought and caught his wrist.
“Um, okay. Wow. I definitely could’ve died.” Y/n spoke, dropping Miles’ wrist.
“My bad.” Miles spoke, looking her up and down. “Why didn’t you go with everyone else? They need someone to watch after them.”
“Trust me, they don’t. Salvador is very responsible.” She informed him. “Besides, how do you know I’m responsible enough to watch over them?”
Miles shrugged and moved away from Y/n to lean onto the only railing that separates them from the water. "I don't."
Y/n chuckled and then followed him, leaning against the same railing but facing Miles.
Miles gave her a stank face. “I actually came over here to remove myself from you…”
Y/n shrugs. “You intrigue me.”
“Yeah?” Y/n nods. “How so?”
“Well I don’t know.” Y/n shrugs, “In my experience, silent people are the most interesting.”
“Or the most deadly, depends on who you know.”
“Cmon, drop the hood nigga persona and let’s be besties for the rest of this trip.”
“Nah.”
“It’ll be fun!”
Miles rolls his eyes. “You are something else.”
“I know, you’ll get used to it eventually. Three months top.”
“You said for the rest of this trip.”
“Well obviously I lied.”
“She lied. Of course she did.” Miles spoke to himself. “We can’t just be civil and be quiet?”
“No, we have to be besties. It’s the only way or else I’ll cry and your mom will let my dad beat you up.”
“He can try, but I can fight.”
“Please!”
“No.”
“Please!”
“No.”
“Come onnnnn!!”
“No.”
“Miles!”
“Okay, mama. Okay. I’ll be your Bestie for the rest of the trip.”
“You won’t regret it! Okay, now let’s go have fun!”
Surprisingly, Miles let Y/n to lead him aimlessly around Disney Springs until they left. The following few days, he allowed her to continue dragging him around.
When it came time for everyone to return home, Y/n's family made the decision to take drop everyone else off at the airport (since the four of them actually lived in Florida and didn't need to leave the state).
This time, Y/n was the one insisting something. That something being walking them into the airport while Rio insisted that it was fine.
Y/n won, which meant her dad had also decided to walk them in just “to make sure Y/n won’t get lost.”
“So,” Y/n started, linking her pinky with Miles who surprisingly enough didn’t seem to have a problem with it, “How was it to be my Bestie for a week?”
Miles chuckled. “You’re not all that bad.”
“I’m not all that bad? Don’t you mean it was the best experience of your life and you can’t wait to see me again?”
“Nah, I ain’t say all that.”
“But you meant it. It’s okay to admit that I’m super funny and cool and pretty and you absolutely love me.”
Miles chuckled again, which was out of character for him.
Rio checked the time and spoke up
"Miles, dile adiós. Tenemos que irnos. Te esperaré allí.”
Miles nods and turns to face Y/n, but Rio quickly pushes him aside and embraces the girl.
“It was so nice to see you again, hermosa! We’ll have to keep better contact so we can see you and your family again, okay?”
“Okay, Mrs Morales! It was so nice to meet you in person and I really enjoyed your company this weekend. You’re so sweet!”
“No, you’re so sweet! Much love to you sweetie, we’ll plan something soon.” She kisses you on the cheek before pulling your father out of the way so you and Miles can have a moment.
“So,” Miles turns to you, but gets interrupted by you throwing your arms around him.
“I’m gonna miss you, bestie!”
Miles smiles down at her, finally wrapping his arms around her waist. “I’m gonna miss you too, mama.”
“See, I knew you loved me.”
Miles' eyesight travels from her lips to her eyes and back again. Naturally, Y/n can't keep quiet.
“You look like you want to kiss me.”
“Quiero besarte.”
“Do it, no balls.”
Miles chuckles before kissing Y/n twice on the lips and trying to lean in once again, but of course both of their parents broke up them up by clapping and raising their voices in protest.
Yet again, Y/n can’t keep quiet.
She looks up at Miles with hearts in her eyes. “…you taste like strawberries and rainbows.”
Miles rolls his eyes before pecking Y/n's lips once more, prompting yet another outburst from their parents.
"Cálmate, mami. Please!” Miles whined while Y/n shook her head at her father with wide eyes.
Y/n grinned as she pulled away from Miles and pulled her phone from her back pocket. “I don't have your number.
Miles took her phone and swiftly entered his number before handing it back to her and holding her hands in his, gently moving backward as he does so. "Let’s keep in touch, yeah?"
Y/n nods, saying bye to Miles as he pulls away and walks over to his mom, of course waving a goodbye to Y/n’s dad as well.
BONUS:
When he got home later and took his phone off of airplane mode, Miles felt his phone buzz in his pocket with a text from an unknown number who he could only assume was you..

If I wanted...
Requested: No.
Warnings: Mentions of Oscar dating you at a young age// He was 28 at the time. *You lied about your age.*
Description: In which you’re Monse’s older cousin who visits for the summer and happens to also be Latrelle’s ex/baby mama
Oscar Diaz x Black Reader!
“Monse, what’s on your mind?”
You ask entering the room seeing her leaned against the window with her back turned towards you. Her sobs that she thought were quiet, weren’t quiet at all. You closed the door behind you running your hand over your stomach. “It’s Caesar.” I sighed deeply, if anyone knew anything about dating the wrong types of boys from Freeridge; you did. Every day you looked over your shoulder since you been back. Especially with Spooky them finding out you were carrying Latrelle’s baby. Even Monse’s friends looked at you like you were the villain. But in all reality, you was just another girl who fallen for his lies.
“What happened now, hermana?”
Monse always looked up to you. She thought you were the perfect example of a woman, she admired you so. And you hated it because you was no one’s perfect example. In fact, you were far from it but you and Monse were very close. So whenever she was hurting, you were hurting. “He said he doesn’t want to be with me because my cousin is the girlfriend of his enemy!” I sighed deeply, Caesar was much like his brother. They didn’t know what the hell they wanted. “Girl, forget Caesar. There’s plenty other fish in the sea. And did you give him a piece of your mind?”
You walked over wiping her tears. “Wipe those tears, hermana. He isn’t worth them.”
Shaking her head. “I did but I love him.” Sighing deeply, you nodded your head standing to your feet, you didn’t say another word to her. Grabbing your flats, you put them on and sprinted out her room and out the front door, making your walk to Spooky’s to pay him and his brother a visit. If they had a problem with anyone, it needed to be with you and they were gonna say whatever they had to say behind your back… to your face!
Bold. That’s what you were and it’s what a lot of people couldn’t stand most about you. You weren’t afraid to speak your own and for damn sure you weren’t afraid to hold your ground.
“Hyna, where you going in such a rush? You know being pregnant you can’t walk as fast as you like.”
You rolled your eyes at the sound of Oscar’s voice. You stopped and turned your attention to him. Not only were you Latrelle’s ex girl and baby mother- You were also Oscar’s ex as well, the entire situation was complicated. The thing was, you were young when you and Oscar had your fling so no one ever knew about it and if anyone did- Especially Monse’s dad- shit wouldn’t be sweet. “I’m coming to see you and your boys. But mainly your brother Caesar. Whom just broke up with my little cousin because of shit he doesn’t have a clue about! All of you just assuming shit but don’t know the full story.”
He leans back looking at you, “Okay then, tell me the full story. Huh? You the one come rolling back in town after seven years. You the one who fucked around with a damn Prophet$ and had his baby, not to mention he like what? half your age? He a whole ass kid, you know how that make you look??”
“First of all, when I met the kid he told me he was twenty-one. Second, I know you not running your mouth because when you and I hooked up I lied about my age and I was fifteen. So don't say shit else to me about how it makes me look, I already know how it makes me look. I came to town for my cousin, her mother died and she needed me. Are you mad that I had a baby by him or Are you mad that I didn't come back for you?”
Oscar lets out a deep chuckle, he turned off his car. You held your ground, you didn't care how upset you had made him. He walked around the front of the car and leaned against the passenger side door looking at you. “You know why I’M UPSET.” He spoke sternly. You were only twenty-one now. You still didn’t have your life figured out and yet you were having a baby, deep down you were only glad few people knew who the father of your baby was, because if it got out in the streets- you would be a target. Anyone could imagine how in love you was with this man, You lied about your age at the time and always felt bad about it. When he found out, he ended things with you and, when he did, You decided to leave and move in with your mother across the globe. You had never looked back either until your phone call from Monse, but not a day never went by did you stop thinking about Oscar. You loved him, hell, You still love him.
“No, I DON’T. All of you are looking at me like I’m the damn enemy when I’m not. I been out the loop for years, you said it yourself. How the hell was I supposed to know who he was?”
Oscar brushes the side of his face. “Doesn’t matter. The damage is done.” Rolling your eyes, you started to walk away from him. He stopped you by grabbing your hand. “So, what’s the story? You gonna tell me so maybe I can possibly resolve this situation for you? You know Sadeyes not gonna allow you to step foot on the grounds. You carrying a Prophet$ baby. You not familia anymore.” Looking at him and hearing him say those words hurt. Considering, at one point in time these people were the only family you had in Freeridge. Sadeyes was always like your brother. And now this?
“The story is I’m not his girl, never was. It was a one-night stand that I wish never happened,” You answered. “Second, he doesn’t know about the baby. And never will if I have anything to say about it.”
He just looked at you. When you left Freeridge, you had taken a part of him with you. He really did love you, and he wasn't just fuming over the fact you were carrying that kids baby, he was fuming over the fact- it wasn’t his.- HE still loved you too. And deep down, he always imagined the life you both wanted- Leaving here, him starting over some place else- opening up the restaurant he always wanted- and the two of you having kids running around. You might have been fifteen at the time, but you had the mind of a older woman, and you were certainly good in bed. He deep down always hated you for what you did, lying to him and having him believe something that wasn’t true.
“I can’t change my brother’s mind. But, I’ll talk to him,” He assured.
You shook your head. “You need to get your boys to fall back to, I don’t need this Spooky. I really don’t. I don’t need to be looked at like some enemy, I just want my time here to be smooth. I won’t be here long.” He frowned. He wasn’t so thrilled about you leaving, He didn’t want you to leave. He wanted you to stick around no matter how he came off, he still loves you. “When you leaving?” You shrugged. “I’m only staying for another week and hopefully I can leave. Like I said, I just came for Monse. But, I need to talk to Caesar.”
“You not talking to him, I will. He not going to listen to you.” He stops you, this time his hand on your breast.
You looked down at his hand, than back up at him. “Would you kindly remove your hand from my breast?” He slightly removed it than chuckles. “IF I can recall, you used to like my hand being on you, in all types of places.” Rolling your eyes. “That was then. This is now.” Turning on your heels to go back to the house and check on Monse, “I still love you!” You heard him say from behind. You stopped. Your eyes darted back and forth as you closed them, all you could seee was black and, all you could hear was those words. You soon felt him behind you and his signature cologne. “If you still loved me, you wouldn’t let this shit be happening with your friends.”
“If I wanted,” He trailed off. “If I wanted to hurt you, I would have hurt you and If I wanted you dead, you’d be dead.” He told you.
You shook your head looking away from him. Sometimes, you wondered what you saw in him. Growing up you had to raise yourself so at the time you never knew how bad your actions were until he told you that night, luckily, no one ever knew about the two of you but Sadeyes always suspected. “It doesn’t matter because you did hurt me. Not just back then but you got the Santos turning their back on me.” You look over at him, rubbing my stomach and tapping on it trying to get him to move around and he did. “I told you, Hyna, I’ll fix it.” You didn’t care at this point.
“It doesn’t matter, Spooky. Just tell them the baby isn’t his, okay? I don’t want to be the reason my cousin and her boyfriend breaks up.”
Spooky looks down at you. “Since when you call me, Spooky?” He never liked the idea of you calling him Spooky, it just never felt right coming out your mouth. You were, at one point, his hyna. So being called Spooky by you just felt odd. “I’m sorry about lying to you back then, Spooky. I really am and you’re spooky to me now because that's your nick name. isn’t it? Or has it changed in the last seven years?”
“It’s still Spooky.” He answers, He couldn’t resist.
He placed his hand on your stomach, and your baby kicked like crazy. He laughed, he thought it was the cutest thing yet. You smiled up at him, seeing that smile of his always made your day. Spooky never smiled much but when he was with you or his brother, he smiled. You were the two people that could make him smile or laugh.
“Is it a girl or boy?” He asks as the both of you walked the beach
This was one of his favorite places. He said he felt free here, like he could be something else. Someone different from the leader of Santos. You were the second person he had ever brought here.
“It’s a boy,” You smiled softly as he placed his hand on your stomach again earning the same response.
Oscar kneeled in front of you, He just was amazed at the little kicks and he smiled seeing your son’s foot print through your stomach. “Does it hurt?” He looked up to you, shaking your head no. “No. Not always. But he’s never kicked this much, so he must like you.” You place your hand on his, old feelings coming back like a wrecking ball.
“You still love me?” He looks up to you.
Nodding your head. He stood to his feet, placing his hand on the side of your face, he looked you in the eyes. “And I still love you. No matter how wrong the situation was at the time, I still love you. I never stopped thinking about you.” You smile at him, he kisses you. You kissed him back. Wrapping his arm around your waist, and your stomach, he nods his head. “Stay.”

Spooky (Dad x adoptive daughter)
(Instead of Spooky getting shot, his adoptive daughter jumped in front of him taking the shots but survive)
This is Kiara Diaz↓↓↓
It's been months since my dad Oscar Diaz left the Santos gang to better his life and raised me right.
Yep you guys heard me right, Oscar Diaz aka Spooky is my dad well my adoptive dad.
Hi my name is Kiara Diaz.
I met Spooky when I was just five years old when some gang members from the prophet$ was trying to rob my parents which they refused and they was killed in front of me. So I took off running as fast as I could but they ended up catching and beat me up until Spooky and his gang members saved me.
After that, Spooky took me in and raised me like his own until on my birthday, he adopted me. The Santos gang became like a family to me, Sad Eyes who is my dad's best friend became my uncle and then I met my dad's brother Cesar Diaz.
When I met his brother Cesar, he welcomed me with open arms and introduced me to his friends Ruby, Jamal, Monse, and Jasmine who was nice to me and hung out with me.
As I grew up, my life went on a crazy ride from Cesar getting jumped into the gang to him failing to kill Latrelle from the prophet$ to him on the run to Jamal finding the Rollerworld money to Ruby and Olivia getting shot which lead to Ruby surving but not Olivia to Cuchillos asking Cesar and his friends to find Lil Ricky to Cuchillos getting killed by 19th Street.
I also went through the chaos with the group's relationship and Monse leaving for private school. I even got to meet my grandpa Ray aka Spooky and Cesar's dad, at first my dad didn't like the fact he just came back into their lives but he accepted him in the long run.
Spooky made sure he raised me different, he didn't want me in the gang. Even though he was tough, he actually wanted me to focus on school and my music, now I'm in college for music/writing with an college scholarship with my boyfriend Alex Gray who is in college for music/writing as well which we are thinking about making music together
This is Alex Gray (Kiara's boyfriend)↓↓↓
I met Alex in high school when we were 17 when he walked in the music room during lunch when I was singing and working on a project and from that day we hit it off, of course my dad was overprotective of me but accept my relationship with Alex.
Then my dad found love and got married to a girl named Isabel who accepted me like her own and is now expecting a baby girl which I'm so excited to have a little sister.
Now my life is even more crazier, Cesar is now the leader of the Santos, I found out when my dad had a private conversation with my uncle Sad Eyes which Cesar found out and came to our house with some of the gang and his new girlfriend Vero damaging the car and threaten my mother's life which I didn't take kindly putting Cesar in his place.
Flashback↓↓↓
Cesar walked up to my dad with the bat in his hand and said
"Next time it won't be the car" threatening my mom life's including his niece
That made me mad causing me to get in front of my dad pushing Cesar which the Santos didn't like and tried to walked up on me but I gave them a look to not fuck with me.
I looked at Cesar angry and upset saying
"I don't give two fucks if you're the leader of the Santos now but what you're not going to do is threaten my mom's life including my baby sister's life who happens to be your niece so let me tell you this *getting in his face* if you attempt or even dare try to harm them, I won't hesitant putting a bullet between your eyes, I don't have to be in a gang to do it" pushing his head hard with my fingers.
Then his new girlfriend Vero got mad and walked up to me getting my face saying
"You better show him some respect" jabbing her finger hard into my shoulder.
I scoffed looking at her saying
"Vero right?, look here ms I'm the shit, this is a family matter between me, him and my dad. It has nothing to do with you so I suggest you stay in your place unless you want to get your ass beat got it puta?" getting in her face.
End of flashback↓↓↓
Since that incident, my dad decided it's best that we should move to Portland where it's safer for all of us. Of course my boyfriend Alex decided he'll come with me and thought it's time that we should live together.
So we're packing our stuff in boxes and taking it to the moving truck when we see Cesar across the street looking at us upset so we let him in the house as we sat down to listen to what Cesar got to say.
Cesar looked out the window as he said to my dad
"You were right...about everything"
I looked down at my hands knowing what he was talking about as my dad looked at him saying
"Let me call Sad Eyes"
Cesar sighed looking at us saying
"I've been put off"
I looked at him with a sad look as my dad got up to say something to him, Cesar looked at him saying
"I'm scared Oscar"
My dad looks him saying
"I know"
Cesar looks at him sad saying
"I'm sorry * looks at me* and I'm sorry too Kiara for offending you in any kind of way"
I got up from my chair, walked over to him and gave him a hug saying
"It's ok Cesar, it's gonna be okay"
My dad place his hand on his shoulder in comforting way saying
"This is what it's about mano, this moment of clarity *he hits his chest softly* we'll figure it out"
Cesar looks at him for a minute as he walked off looking at the house saying
"How much longer you got this place"
I looked at him saying
"The week"
Cesar looked at my dad saying
"Can I live here? Until I figure out a living sitch?, I'll make sure it's clean and I'll turn in the keys too"
My dad looks at him shaking his head saying
"Yeah. Sure. Sure."
Then my dad looks at the ground then at Cesar saying
"Or you can come with me and Kiara to Portland" smiling softly at him as he continue saying
"We can leave tonight"
Cesar looks at him shaking his head no as he say
"I can't"
I looked at him and said
"Why? What's keeping you here?"
Cesar looks at me with a sad look saying
"My life"
I looked at him with a sad look saying
"What life? Cesar come with us and build one"
My dad looks at him saying
"Mira, remember when we were on the beach, and you said you wanted us to live above my restaurant? Well, the space I found has a studio above it, I was gonna use it as an office but you can even live there if you want, I know it's not the beach but it's a start. You can go to school, you still wanna be an architect? Do it! Whatever you wanna do, you can do it from there, you can do it with me but you can't do it here."
Cesar sighed as he looked around and said
"What about Vero?"
I scoffed looking at Cesar saying
"¿Qué hay de esa perra irrespetuosa?"
(Translation : "What about that disrespectful ass puta?")
(I'm using Google translate so bear with me lol)
My dad looks at me saying
"Kiara"
I mumbled sorry as my dad looks at Cesar and say
"If she loves you, she'll understand"
Cesar look at my dad for a good minute until he said
"Okay. Yeah let's do it" causing me to smile and say
"Yeah?"
Cesar gives me a soft smile saying
"I'm gonna come with you"
I gives him a hug and look at him smiling saying
"I'm so excited, it's been a while since I kicked your ass in Call of Duty and I can't wait for you to my boyfriend Alex"
Cesar chuckles at my excitement saying
"You gotta a boyfriend? Is he treating right? He better be treating you right"
I playfully rolled my eyes saying
"Ugh you sound like my dad"
My dad chuckles as he hugs Cesar all excited that he agree to come with us, my dad looks at him saying
"This is our moment cabrón, we're gonna be a real family. A real, real one this time" as he chuckles softly.
My dad looks around saying
"You know what, this deserves a drink before we hit the road, let me get the good tequila *looks at Cesar* shot glasses on the counter ok?" as we headed outside to get the tequila.
I looked at my dad excited and happy saying
"I'm so happy that he's coming with us"
My dad smiles at me saying
"Me too, oh let me call your mother and let her know" taking out his phone and called mom.
Mom answered asking if we was on the road yet as my dad said
"He's coming with us Isabel. He's actually coming with us."
I can hear mom ask who so I grabbed the phone from my dad's hand saying
"Cesar ma, he's here now."
Mom ask me
"Is he okay?"
I said
"Yeah, yeah, he's fine" handing the phone back to my dad as we walked to the truck.
My dad continue saying
"Shit went down, but I think it got his mind right. He even apologized"
I can hear mom telling my dad that it's great as they continue talking.
Then all of sudden I see a car that looks suspicious and my dad noticed it as he told mom that he got to go and that we love her, the car window rolled down as I saw a gun before my dad did causing my eyes to widen jumping in front of my dad wrapping my arms around him pushing him to the ground screaming
"LOOK OUT!" feeling pain hit me in my back and stomach as the gunshots stopped.
Cesar came running outside to see what happen and saw us on the ground so he ran over to us checking to see if we was fine my dad looks at Cesar saying
"I'm fine, I'm ok"
Then my dad's heart drops as he sees me on my bleeding from my stomach with my blood coming out my mouth a little bit causing him to run over to me screaming no and said
"Kiara oh my god, Cesar call 911" placing my head on his lap as Cesar applied pressure on my wounds calling 911.
I looked at him weakly saying
"Hey Dad"
My dad looks at me trying not to cry saying
"You're gonna to be ok, ok sweetie? You're gonna be ok"
I give him a weak smile as my eyes started to close slowly but my dad tapped my cheek softly saying
"Kiara, keep your eyes open ok? don't close them ok? The ambulance is on the way"
I shook my head ok as I tried to keep my eyes open but was failing as darkness surrounded me and my dad voice fades away.
Hey guys, i hope everyone enjoy this imagine❤😃

Summary: Cesar and Oscar get into a fight and the reader lets Cesar know just how much his brother has done for him.
Requested: Yes
Hi, a request where Oscar and Cesar get into a fight after who knows what and Cesar says some really hurtful things to Oscar. Reader is watching doesn’t usually get involved in fights but Oscar walks off after Cesar says the hurtful things and reader get involved telling Cesar that he should be lucky he has Oscar, that Oscar has risked a lot of stuff for Cesar, etc. Then reader goes to the bedroom to see Oscar crying softly and she comforts him by kissing his tattoos and reassuring him.
A Oscar x reader where it takes place after his dad leaves again and he tells Cesar. So he finally opens up to you about everything later that night when he goes over to your house crying in your arms. After her tells you that he loves and to never leave him because you heal him. Lots of fluff for my man please he needs it
Pairing: Oscar Diaz x reader
Warnings: contains spoilers from s3 ep5, so if you haven’t watched the latest season or haven’t gotten to the fifth episode, keep scrolling. cussing, angst, fluff at the end.
Word Count: 2.5k
A/N: my heart broke. I just wanna hug Oscar okay. I know he done some shit but they ain’t gotta do him like they did him this season. LEAVE OSCAR ALONE. But anyways lmao, I combined two requests that I got. I just thought they fit well together, so I hope that whoever requested them enjoys this and finds it to their liking. I obviously changed some stuff but tried to keep it as original to both requests as I could. Enjoy!
—————
It was around 8-9 pm when Cesar finally got home from the funeral in Brentwood. You had been sitting on the couch, flipping past the channels on the t.v, though you weren’t particularly paying attention. It was more so something to keep you occupied. Oscar was sitting at the dining room table, hand around a beer bottle, eyes focused intently on the hard wood table.
You could practically hear his thoughts, see his mind racing. The entire day, he’d been like that. It had been a rough day for him, and you had done your best to be there for him, but nothing could prepare either of you for when Cesar finally got home.
Oscar had been crushed once again when Ray walked out of their lives, but he had been through it once before. Did it make it easier? No. Did it make the anger he felt lessen any less? No. But knowing his baby brother wasn’t a baby anymore, knowing he had to tell him their dad walked out on them again, that’s what was eating away at him. The first time Ray left, Cesar was too little to even remember him. That’s the only positive side - Oscar carried the burden. Dealt with the anger and sadness of their dad leaving, not Cesar. But this time? This was something he couldn’t protect him from.
Cesar walked through the door and flashed you a smile in greeting.
“Hey.” He spoke, shutting the wooden door behind him. Oscar, hearing the front door open and shut, stood up from where he was sitting, eyes locked on his brother as he finally came into view. You gave Cesar a small smile, returning the greeting. You grabbed the remote control and shut the t.v off, it being the last thing on your mind. Now noticing Oscar standing up, slowly walking towards him, and you looking at him with what he could only describe as sadness in your eyes, Cesar grew concerned. And that’s when he noticed it.
All of Ray’s things were gone.
Given that the house was relatively small, Ray had taken to sleeping on the couch. And since he had arrived, the living room had been rather unkempt, his things had been strewn about on the small coffee table in front of the couch.
“What’s going on? Where’s Ray? Where are his things?” He asked. Oscar’s face was hardened, but you could see the emotion in his eyes. He was hurt. Angry that his dad had put this all on him. That his dad had basically sent him to hurt Cesar and deliver the news.
“Cesar, come sit.” You patted the spot beside you and for a few seconds, he did nothing except look between you and Oscar, before finally relenting and occupying the space beside you on the couch.
“Where is Ray?” He asked again, looking up at his big brother. Oscar was looking at the ground, mouth set into a thin line. A few seconds went past before he finally spoke.
“He left.” There it was. The words Oscar had dreaded to say to his little brother.
“What? What do you mean he left? Left where?” Cesar asked, his face falling.
“He packed up his shit and he left. Didn’t say where but I’m guessing Bakersfield.” Oscar answered, voice deep and gruff.
Cesar was incredulous, not wanting to believe it was true. His heart was racing, you could see, that just like Oscar, his mind was going a mile a minute. His hands clenched at his pants, his knuckles turning pale white. He shook his head, eyes on the coffee table before looking back up at Oscar.
“He wouldn’t leave without saying goodbye.” Your heart broke. You had been pissed when you found Oscar sitting on the living room couch, looking like a lost and fragile child, only for him to tell you that his father had bailed out again. From the get go, you understood both sides - Oscar was older than Cesar, thus he remembered more. He remembered the hurt and anger when Ray first left. He had to shoulder the responsibility of raising his baby brother, he had to be a father all while still a child himself. But you also understood that while Cesar may have looked at Oscar like a father figure, he, of course, desired to have a relationship with his actual father. You couldn’t fault him for that. And you had hoped with all of your heart that Ray wouldn’t do what he did again, that he wouldn’t hurt Cesar and Oscar more than he did already. But it was wishful thinking.
“He did.”
Cesar jumped into defensive mode, eyes and face hardening. He stood up off the couch and you had a bad feeling. The brothers had gotten in plenty of arguments and fights, you had been with Oscar long enough to witness some of them, but you had always chosen to not get involved - they already worked on their shit and figured it out.
“What did you do?” The younger Diaz bit out, getting in his brother’s face.
“I didn’t do shit.” Oscar answered.
“Exactly. You didn’t do shit. You could have helped him find a new job or something. But instead you chose not to.”
“I don’t have that kind of power.”
“Oh bullshit! I bet this makes you so happy.”
“Happy? I’m your brother. For most of your life I’ve been your dad. If you’re gonna be mad at someone, be mad at him. He’s the one that up and left. Again.”
It was when Cesar shoved Oscar back that you finally stood up and made a move toward the young teen.
“Okay, that’s enough. Cesar, stop. Stop.” You had tried to no avail, Cesar ignoring you and shoving Oscar again. Your boyfriend waved you off, not wanting you to get involved or get hurt. Then he focused on the hurt boy, calling his name, trying to get him to calm down.
“Cesar. Ces-“
“Monse was right. You are cursed. Everything bad that has happened to me is because of you.”
The room went silent. You could hear nothing but the crickets chirping outside. Oscar’s face visibly fell. He swallowed hard, his Adam’s apple bobbing. His eyes had taken an emotion that you could only describe as hurt, sadness.. heartache. It absolutely shattered your heart. And it made you angry more than anything else. Oscar didn’t do or say anything. He just turned around and walked down the hallway. You could hear the bedroom door open and then slam shut.
Cesar was breathing hard, panting, eyes angry and hard. But you certainly weren’t gonna let him get away with his behavior, no matter how angry he was at his brother.
“What the hell was that, Cesar?” You asked, eyes blazing as you focused your attention on your boyfriend’s little brother.
“All of this is his fault! He made Ray leave, he-“ You cut him off, holding a hand up.
“First of all, no - it’s not his fault. You’re forgetting that this isn’t the first time Ray has walked out on you, Cesar. You were too little to remember it back then, but he left you once before! Oscar didn’t make Ray do anything he didn’t want to do. That man left on his own free will. I get that you’re angry, but what you’re not gonna do is blame Oscar for something your dad did. Twice.” You said.
“And second - Oscar raised you. When your dad left, when your mom was gone or high - he raised you. He didn’t have to, but he did. He gave up opportunities. He gave up hopes and dreams just to stay here and take care of you, and don’t you forget that. I get that the shit with Latrelle shooting Olivia and Ruby started because of him, I get it. I’m not saying that he’s innocent but you don’t know how it eats away at him - that shit’s with him everyday. He thinks about it everyday. He lives with it everyday. Oscar has done way more for you than Ray ever did. I get that you wanted a relationship with your dad, but who was more of a dad to you? Ray? Or Oscar? You should be lucky that you have Oscar because there are people out there that have no one. If he was somebody else, he could left you here. He’s made mistakes, he’s paid for them. He’s still paying for them. You don’t know half of the shit he’s done or has had to do just to keep you safe. To keep you and your friends safe. It’s so easy to paint him as the bad guy, but don’t forget - he’s your brother and he loves you more than anything. Don’t take your anger out on him.”
Cesar stayed silent through and after that, not saying a single word. His eyes fell to the ground, hands clenched in fists. You had never raised your voice Cesar - you chose not to get involved in arguments with Oscar and his brother, but this time you could stay silent hearing the way Cesar was talking to himS You’d be the first to after that Oscar wasn’t perfect - he made mistakes, grave ones, but you had also seen how much he carried on his shoulder to ensure the safety of not only Cesar and his friends, but the entire neighborhood. He didn’t want anymore innocent people getting hurt, especially if it was because of him. But it was like Cesar and his friends couldn’t see that. They only say and focused on the bad. You couldn’t change everyone’s opinion, but you didn’t want Cesar having that opinion of his brother. You needed him to know just how much Oscar did for him, how much he loved him.
With one final look at Cesar, you walked away from him, heading down the hall towards the familiar door that led to the bedroom you and Oscar shared. What you saw when you opened the door broke your heart into a bunch of pieces.
Oscar was sitting on the bed, hunched over with his face in his hands. His shoulders shook softly and you could tell that he was crying.
“Oh, Oscar..” You shut the door behind you and immediately walked over to him. You gently removed his hands from his face and coaxed him to look up at you. When he did, you heart broke even more if it was possible. His cheeks were wet with tears, his eyes were slightly red, and his bottom lip and chin wobbled as a fresh set of tears came.
“He hates me.” He sounded like such a vulnerable and fragile child. His voice was broken, soft. Unlike the usual tone in which you heard him speak on the daily. This was someone who was hurting inside, and you desperately wanted to make the hurt go away. “He hates me and it’s all my fault.”
With your hands cupping his cheeks, you wiped away the free tears that had fallen, shaking your head. “No, baby. He doesn’t hate you. He’s angry, he’s hurt but he doesn’t hate you. When Ray left the first time, he was too young to remember. But now? This is something entirely new to him. He doesn’t know what to think or what to feel, and like you, the first thing he can think of is anger. Rage.”
“It’s all my fault. Latrelle, Ruby, Olivia.. Monse was right. I am cursed.” Oscar lowered his head and his shoulders began to shake again as he cried quietly. You sighed softly, closing your eyes so the tears that had welled up in your own eyes wouldn’t fall.
“Look at me, papas.” You had spoken softly once you composed yourself. You pressed a kiss against his head and coaxed him to look at you once more. You wiped away the tears once more and leaned in, pressing the tiniest kiss against the teardrop tattoo under his eye.
“You’ve made mistakes. We all have. But it’s not all your fault. You’re not cursed. Cesar doesn’t hate you. I see you, Oscar. The real you. I see all that you do to protect him, to keep him safe. I mean even with all that happened today - you were more upset about Cesar having to go through this, about having to tell him Ray left. Why? Because you just wanted to protect him, the way no one protected you when you were growing up. The streets raised you and you raised him - you’ve done so much for him, and I just told him that right now. He loves you, baby.”
“I never wanted him to have to go through that. I never wanted him to have to grow up with the hurt that I did when he left. It fucking.. it hurt so bad. When Ray left today.. I felt like a little kid all over again. Like it was the first time. And then I remembered that Cesar is older now, that he’ll remember this and.. fuck..” His voice cracked, but you stayed silent, letting him finish and get all that he needed off his chest. “I’ve messed up with him. Badly, after that shit that happened with Ruby getting shot and Olivia dying, kicking Cesar out - I fucked up. I know I did. I chose the Santos over my own brother.. I’ll never be able to make up for it, but I want to try. For him. Everything that I do, everything I’ve ever done is for him.”
Oscar’s hands, which had gravitated down to your hips, tightened slightly as he pulled you closer, looking up at you from his seated position on the bed with such an intense and vulnerable gaze that you couldn’t bring yourself to look away, even if you wanted to.
“I do it for you too, you know. I don’t know what I did to deserve you but I just..” He paused, trying to find the right words. “You heal me, Y/N.” He said, and your eyes watered again. “You make me want to be a better person. A better man. I never ever want to lose you. I can’t lose you. I love you.”
With a tear drop falling down your cheek, you bent down ever so slightly. You leaned in and kissed his neck, specifically the Santos cross. You worked your way up, peppering little kisses against his jawline. It wasn’t sexual in the slightest, you just needed him to know that you were there. That you were there and you weren’t going anywhere. You worked your way up to his cheek, then the tear drop tattoo once more. There, you rested your forehead upon his. You locked eyes with your boyfriend, staring deep into them and hoping that you were conveying the love you had for him.
“I’m not going anywhere, Oscar. You’re stuck with me. Now and always. I love you. Good and bad. Nothing you can say or do will ever scare me away, okay? You’re a good man. You’re an amazing brother. Shit, you’re an amazing dad to Cesar. You raised him. You did and you alone. You did and do so much for him. I see all that you do, and I’m proud of you. I’m proud to be your’s.”

Latrell Taylor AKA Starboy
⁃ Again, he’s a genius and recreated the Cosmic Staff and fights crime with it. His dad is in the Air Force and he comes along with him all the time, and one day they were testing a new kind of engine with special chemicals, but it blew up and Latrell got caught in the blast, developing powers similar to Captain Marvel
⁃ So his future hero name is Rocketman, but for now it’s Starboy cause he’s obsessed with The Weeknd
⁃ He’s super chill and just really cool, and he’s one of those effortlessly popular guys that everyone either hates or loves. He’s really good in his engineering and physics classes, they’re his favorite cause he always wanted to build new jets for the Air Force when he grows up
⁃ HE HAS A BIRTHMARK ON HIS FACE IN THE SHAPE OF A STAR OKAY-
⁃ His main outfit is usually a Zumiez shirt, baggy zip up sweater, baggy jeans with chain belts and Air Jordans
⁃ He likes chill rap, like The Weeknd or Post Malone or Khalid, stuff like that
⁃ His whole family are military, his dad being in the Air Force and his mom was in the army, and his Aunt Darlene whom he’s very close with is in the marines. His mother, Sherry, died serving her country when he was 13, so only 4 years ago
⁃ So Darlene is Sherry’s sister, and she has her own family too but likes to check in on Latrell as often as she can cause she loves her nephew and his dad, Lamont is pretty busy with work

I missed one chicago night again and so here's my thoughts on all of them:
med
I cried with maggie's plot again. I knew she would adopt augie soon especially since DCFS stopped the transplant
ethan can't handle running the er. he can't and I don't think it's good for him or anyone else
dr charles is such a good dad especially when talking to anna about it and when she said "I'm bleeding" he was so calm 😭
I cried SO HARD at that ending. I honestly did not think that claire was dropping off harpers stuff.
I hope will doesn't take another jobbbbbbbb. I love him !
fire
stellaride stellaride stellaride
cruz and herman this episode😭
"you got this stella kidd"
MACKEY AND GALLO FINALLY
I don't agree that gallo should've been sent home BUT I understand casey's logic
sylvie is so pure and stands up for everyone she loves and believes in and I love that for her.
I AM SHOOK THAT MOUCH GOT TRUDYS NAME ON HIS ASS. THAT WHOLE SCENE REPLAYS IN MY MIND
bretsey is so CLOSE. casey needs to talk to her and be like "bro if gabby came back I don't think i'd care"
pd
I loved jay in this episode. he was so good to latrell and that's amazing
fuck the cops who let sean's murder go
hailey makes sure people, especially women, know that she is trustworthy and I think that's beautiful
it's really sad that they had to believe the worst about sean until they learned that he was just a market boy.
idk but the actor that plays dante had a sexy voice
that moment between jay and hank I just feel like jay is becoming too much like hank, especially when he said "good. all they got is the camaro fleeing the scene so keep your mouth shut and ask for a lawyer."

my thoughts on 8x06...
i’ve never done this before, but i have so much to say, so here goes nothing. feel free to add or disagree, i’m gonna be up all night after that episode, so don’t worry about blowing up my inbox.
1 - i’m not gonna lie, this episode for me didn’t live up to the hype of the spoilers. it was an amazing episode, definitely top 5 for jay centric, i was on the edge of my seat the whole time. but, the way they marketed the episode left me disappointed, just because the amazing content we got wasn’t the content i was expecting.
in addition to that, i know we all have said that we live the character based episodes, but this one took it a step further. this would have been a great episode to highlight upstead (not to give us cute scenes, but to show the audience that they were working), because as much as i love how well they still work, we didn’t get to see hailey comfort jay the same way he tried to comfort her in 8x04, and that didn’t make sense to me.
2 - why, why, why, why, why do the pd writers (and really OC in general) love to backtrack on family dynamics? i spent the entire episode trying to figure out why jay was so emotionally connected to this case, and by the end i thought i understood: that it was about what he would have done. but when he admits to latrell (is that how you spell it? idk) that it was about his dad, i literally screamed.
until the 6x02 crossover, jay thought his dad was a mean, heartless bastard. now, while him not supporting him when he enlisted/joined the academy was a big part of that, THOSE WERE NOT THE ONLY REASONS. it couldn’t be, and the fact that the writers have made jay forgive him and so much more is ridiculous to me. and maybe it was a guilt thing for jay, because he never reconciled with his father, but i don’t understand how some old photos took away all resentment he had for his dad.
3 - THE JAY AND HANK GROWTH! i was crying, but also hitting myself with a pillow. the concern that hank showed was so genuine, and it was so nice to see them getting along for once. also, it was a strange parallel to 7x18 that i loved, and for a while i was scared that jay was gonna go off the rails (and i was NOT ready for that, because as much as jay follows his heart/gets too close, it’s never been in opposition of his job), so i’m glad they ended it that way.
^ i honestly can’t even collect my thoughts on this right now, so be ready for more later
4 - (and finally) THE PROMO! i have a theory, and maybe it’s a little out there, but i think Hailey is gonna get hurt. i know they set it up for it to be adam, but it seems too obvious. plus,at the end, it’s jay and kim running. where’s hailey? all rationality says it would be her behind jay and not kim.
plus, adam was already shot this season, where as hailey has never been majorly injured on the job while in intelligence. i’m not saying that they take turns or anything, but i can’t imagine that they wouldn’t go with hailey for this. it’s set up too well.
alright, wow, that was a lot. if you’re still here, thanks for reading through all that, lol. let’s talk about it!

Renewal | O. Diaz
Pairing: Oscar x Martinez!Reader
Timeframe: Chapter 17 (Altered)
Summary: In which the Reader has her baby shower.
masterlist // part one
A/N: Consider this a part two to ‘Collateral’.
After my wound healed, and I was able to pick up a laundry basket without wincing in pain, I decided to stay living at home with my family. I was eventually going to move back to my apartment, and share it with Spooky, where we would raise our baby, but for the time being I chose to stay at home.
On the plus side, this meant having my mother and grandmother taking care of me, no matter how much I insisted of cooking my own dinner. On the other hand, this meant I had my siblings around to annoy the living crap out of me 24/7.
“Y/n, come here!”
“Ugh, what is it Mario?” I groaned from having to get out of my bed and head to the kitchen, where Mario was sorting through out ancient box of party decorations.
“Ma asked me to hang up the decorations,” he explained, as he rummaged through the box, pulling out all of the decorations that were still in good shape. “But I have no idea how she wants it done, and I know you do, so can you help me?”
“You want me to setup my own baby shower?” I retorted. It was disappointing, yet unsurprising that he needed my help doing the one task our mother gave him.
“I thought you didn’t want to call it a baby shower?”
“That’s because the only reason I agreed to do this was for the gifts.”
My mother and Ruby were the ones who forced the idea on me. I personally found the whole idea of it tacky, and unnecessary, but when Ruby told me each guest would have to come bearing a gift, I reluctantly gave in.
“Look, are you gonna help me or not?”
“Fine,” I sighed, before joining him in rummaging through the box.
After we pulled out the streamers, as well as a banner my mother especially bought for the event, Mario went to look for tacks, or anything we could use to hang everything up. I decided to take that as an opportunity to take a seat on the couch and rest my feet.
The moment quickly ended when Ruby and Jamal arrived home.
“You’re being paranoid.”
“I am being perfectly reasonable,” Jamal fired back at Ruby, who head straight to the kitchen for a drink, before slowly walking back to the living room area. “Think about it. Every since we found the money, bad stuff keeps happening.”
“Guys,” I groaned, sitting up and putting my feet back on the ground. “I have a small, yet very aggressive, human inside of me right now. Can you please be a little quieter?”
“Sorry, Y/n,” they replied in unison. As I leaned back and rested my head on the sofa, Ruby noticed the decorations were out and did not wait a moment before giving his opinion. “I cannot believe mom’s using the same decorations... And they misspelled ‘shower’ on the banner!”
“Hey, if you wanna takeover and be event planner, go right ahead,” I muttered, with my eyes still closed. “Ma is having Mario put the decorations up, and he didn’t even know what a streamer was until I showed him... At least with you I know I won’t have to do anything.”
The boy was practically jumping.
“It would be my honour,” Ruby stated dramatically. I could always count on him to escalate small things to another level. “Consider it me fulfilling my first of many duties as an uncle... as the tío she can always count on.”
“Whatever you want,” I droned.
“Jamal?” Ruby looked over to his friend, who was helping himself to a bowl of corn chips. “Call the squad over here. We have a baby shower to plan.”
“Oh god,” I groaned, realising what I had just signed myself up for.
*****
After I assigned Ruby as event planner, he and his friends managed to find an entire new set of decorations using a small amount of the cleaned Rollerworld money. I was surprised, considering how difficult of a time they were having cleaning the money, and how obsessed they were with getting their fair share, but the decision was apparently unanimous. Then, before I knew it, it was the night before the baby shower and Ruby had gone full blown crazy.
“Monse, you call that folding? I’ve seen prettier napkins at McDonald’s.”
Against their better judgements Monse, Jamal and Jasmine agreed to staying the night at my place to help set everything up for the baby shower. According to Ruby, my only job was to sit and relax. Everyone else, on the other hand, had a long list of tasks and a rigid schedule Ruby was expecting them to abide to. One of Jasmine’s tasks was to figure out what I planned on wearing, and convince me to go with the colour scheme Ruby had envisioned.
“I was planning on wearing this,” I stated, before placing my mustard-yellow maternity-friendly sundress on the coffee table for Jasmine to see.
“Right, okay, I see what you’re trying to do,” she said positively. “But, you see, Ruby suggested that maybe you wear your red dress instead. Think about it, it’ll go with the whole theme we got going on, compliment your complexion. Yeah?”
“Alright,” I sighed, knowing that even if I tried to argue with Ruby on this, he would somehow find a way to convince me to go with the red dress. After putting my yellow dress I away, I went back to the living room area to see how the setting up was coming along. “How’s the setting up coming along?”
“I love you, Y/n,” Monse began, looking up from her napkin-folding station at the dining table. “And I love your baby. But I swear to God, if Ruby criticises my folding technique one more time-”
“Monse, this napkin is wrinkly!”
After Ruby did exactly what I feared he would, I watched Monse close her eyes briefly, and take a deep breath in. After slowly exhaling, she abruptly tried to run out from her seat at the table, and strangle Ruby, but I quickly held my hands out and stopped her.
“Woah, okay,” I muttered, quickly realising how tense everyone was, Ruby and Monse in particular. “Maybe a little break will do you guys some good... Okay, everyone stop what you’re doing, have a seat on the couch and relax. I’ll order some pizza for us, okay? My shout.”
Everyone, even Ruby, did as I said, and seemed to be relieved because of it. I slipped into the kitchen and ordered pizza from my phone, before pouring myself a glass of lemonade. As I took a sip from my cup, Cesar came in.
After New Years, I convinced my mum to let Cesar stay with us while Monse’s dad moved in and out of town. Despite her resentment towards him, it only took reminding her that Cesar was family to Ruby and I for her to agree to let him crash on our couch until Mario goes back at the stat of his semester.
“Cesar? You okay?”
“Are you sure you want me there tomorrow, Y/n?” He asked nervously, after a moment of prolonged silence. As he scratched the back of his head, I put my glass of lemonade down and looked him directly in the eye.
“Are you kidding me?” I said softly. “Of course I want you at my baby shower, Cesar. It wouldn’t be complete without all of my baby’s tío under one roof. I even promised Jamal he’d be a tío.”
“And I’m gonna hold you against that promise,” Jamal shouted from the living room. I could have sworn he had super-hearing abilities.
“It’s just... I know you told my brother not to come, because you wanted me there.”
“Ruby told you?” He nodded, and I made a mental note to confront my brother about that. “Look, okay... Yes, that is why I told Spooky not to come, but I told him it’s not a big thing, and he was totally cool with sitting this one out. Plus, it’s my baby shower, so it’s my call... And I want you there tomorrow, okay?”
“Okay,” he smiled. “I’ll be there.”
“Plus, my cousin sent me a crib I need to set up, and Mario and Ruby are horrible with using tools and following instructions.”
*****
My baby shower had gone by fast. By the end of it, Ruby and his friends stayed back to clean everything up, which my mother really appreciated, as it meant she could take her time catching up with her cousins. Mario was putting the twins to bed, and Cesar was helping me go through all the gifts people brought.
“I can’t believe my cousin bought my daughter this onesie.”
“She’ll look so cute in it,” Cesar commented, smiling as I held it up for him to see. “I wish I could see how she’d look in it.”
“Well, my due date is in a few months now,” I began, chuckling as I folded the onesie and placed it with the rest of the clothes my relative bought for my daughter. “So soon enough you’ll have a little girl calling you tio.”
“Yeah...” Cesar seemed to be distant. Ever since he came back from his shift at Jamal’s dad’s restaurant, he seemed a lot more gloomy than ever.
“Cesar? Is everything okay?”
In true Diaz fashion, he tried to remain stoic; tried to continue doing what he was doing as if my question didn’t affect him, but I knew better. I knew there was something serious he was hiding.
“You know you can tell me anything, right?” I placed my hand on his shoulder and shifted closer to him, lowering my voice so he knew whatever he would say I would keep confidential. “I mean it, Cesar. Tell me what’s going on... please.”
There is an air of silence for a prolonged moment. Cesar inhales sharply, before breaking his stoicism and crinkling his brows together, with tears beginning to well up in his eyes.
“Their gonna kill me Y/n,” he whispered, voice cracking as he said my name.
After Ruby’s drunken outburst that led to a group of Santos breaking the truce, we knew it was only a matter of time before Latrelle would come back to finish what he tried to do at Olivia’s quinceanera. I just didn’t think it would happen so soon.
Before I can even begin to think of something to say, there is a loud knock on my door. I glance at Cesar for just a moment, before standing up to answer the door. However, when I open it, there is no one to be found. All there is left is a painfully familiar item on my mother’s welcome mat.
A bullet. The same kind I had to get surgically removed from my shoulder.
“Y/n?” Cesar whispered in concern, from where he had been sitting. I turn around, so he can see the bullet in between my index finger and thumb, alongside the look of horror on my face.
“We need to go,” I said sharply, giving Cesar all but five second to get up and follow me. I didn’t care that the person who delivered that bullet would have only been a few blocks away. I needed to get this sorted now. Because two people I care deeply about were being threatened- my unborn child, and my pseudo-baby brother.
Therefore, now it was personal.
*****
Despite the fact that my feet had been consistently sore ever since I entered my second trimester, Cesar and I walked all the way to Oscar’s place, and for the first time the pain in my feet was easy to ignore. Once we were two houses away from the Santos crib, I told Cesar to lay low while I talked to his brother.
“Spooky,” I called out, as I walked towards their front porch. I only had to wait a second or two before he came out and greeted me with a smile and a kiss on my temple. It was no wonder why the other guys kept making jokes about him being whipped.
“What’s wrong baby?”
“It’s a long story... but just promise me you won’t be mad.”
“Y/n...” his smile faded so quickly, turning into an almost-glare.
“Please,” I said softly, placing my hands on the sides of his arms, partly to butter him up but mostly to keep him restrained.
“Okay,” he replied, tone still harsh, but you take what you can get with Spooky. “I won’t be mad... now tell me what you did.”
I look down for a moment and try to find a way to articulate the situation in the best way. In a way that would keep Oscar from wanting to knock Cesar out and reprimand me for keeping secrets from him. However, I couldn’t come up with a way to verbally explain, so I opted for a more visual method.
“You can come out now,” I shouted.
As Cesar slowly appeared, stopping at the Santos front lawn, there was a short moment where Oscar remained completely frozen. This moment, however, was very short-lived, because after rubbing his facial hair, he quickly turned back to Cesar and tried to run at him, only for me to block his way.
“What the hell is this?!”
“You said you wouldn’t be mad,” I retorted, trying to reason with him, but it wasn’t working.
“So what we hide shit from each other now? Is that what this is, Y/n?”
“He needed a place to crash, and I knew you’d be like this if I told you.”
“You know fucking well why,” he shouted, making me take a step back. Oscar never scared me, but this was truly uncharted territory perhaps for the both of us. “She show you the scar on her shoulder, Cesar? She ever tell you about nightmares she gets from that night? You ever thought about the people you’ve hurt, or are you just happy to freeload off someone again-”
“-Hey, stop it!” I yelled, pushing Spooky away from Cesar, who he was mere inches away from shoving at this point. Spooky breath heavily, as he catches his breath from yelling so profusely at this brother. All the while, Cesar stood still, ready to take whatever beating Oscar was about to give him.
“I told you this was a bad idea.”
“Yeah, no shit,” Spooky shouted, before spitting in Cesar’s direction.
“Spooky, can you just listen?... Please?” He doesn’t look me in the eye, but he does remain silent, which was enough cue for me to continue explaining myself. “I wouldn’t have come here now if it wasn’t urgent... They’re tryna finish the job... They wanna kill him.”
For a moment it seemed like Oscar was about to give in. It was his natural instinct to protect his brother, so I knew telling him of the danger Cesar was in would make him ease up, but he still wasn’t gonna help him.
“He made this mess, it’s time he takes responsibility for what he’s done... you can’t protect him.”
“No... but you can,” I replied, looking at the father of my child pleadingly. Oscar scoffs and pulls away from my grasp, before turning to the house and making his way back inside. “No- Oscar, baby please...”
Right before he reaches their porch, I pull the bullet from my back pocket and make one last attempt at talking sense into him.
“They came to my house tonight.”
He stopped immediately, before turning back around and walking towards me. This time his expression had washed over with concern, a look I had become incredibly familiar with since becoming his girlfriend, and even more so after becoming his babymama.
I held out the bullet, so Oscar could see it, and as he examined it his eyes only darkened. With a clenched fist and flared nostrils, he shifted his eyes between Cesar and I several times, before patting the pocket of his pants. He always kept his gun on one side and his car keys on the other.
“Both of you. Get in the car.”
Cesar and I did so quickly, understanding the magnitude of the situation. I knew that in due time Oscar would have come around to helping Cesar. However, we didn’t have that kind of time, so I also knew I had to do what I needed to make sure he was on board now.
“Where are we going?”
“I’m taking you home,” he replied shortly, and I knew then that whatever he was about to do was something he wouldn’t tell me until it was done. That’s how it worked when it came to stuff involving Santos. And, despite what he told Cesar in December, he was still very much a Santos. “I’ll call the guys. Make sure at least a few of them are on lookout out here. You ever wanna leave to go anywhere, you call me, okay? I’ll get someone to follow you, make sure you got protection.”
“Yeah, but-”
“I’ll handle it, baby,” he answered, before I could even ask my question. Even when recovering from a fight, he was always on my wavelength. “I promise... They won’t get away with this shit... Imma make sure of it.”
He stops in front of my house, and lifts my hand up, pressing a soft kiss on the back of it before caressing the side of my face. I always hated moments like these. Saying goodbye right before shit goes down. Last time a moment like this occurred, Oscar ended up being locked up for over two years.
Before opening my door, I glanced back at Cesar and then at Spooky. My Spooky.
“You text me the second it’s done, okay?” I whispered, trying not to tear up. Pregnancy hormones and gang violence was not a good combination. “And I swear to God, if anything happens to either of you, I will-”
“Hey,” Spooky whispered, gently rubbing his thumb against the apple of my cheek. “You think I’m gonna let anything keep me from coming home to you?”
“I love you,” I said, nodding as I began to process Oscar’s confidence. I look back at Cesar and gently squeeze his hand. “Both of you.”
And as I walked back into my house, and heard the sound of Spooky’s engine fade as they drove off, I promised I would tell this story to my daughter once she was of an appropriate age. People can say all they want about me, about Spooky and Cesar, and about the Santos in Freeridge.
But, when push comes to shove, these men will move heaven and earth to protect their people and their community.

Protection (Ruby X Reader)
OMB Masterlist
"Okay, people! Hurry in! We need to start going over this play!” shouted the English teacher, Mr. Miller in the community theater after school.
The core four and Jasmine sat down next to each other with other students in their grade along with freshmen in a circle of chairs with Mr. Miller in front to see the whole class.
"Everyone, everybody you see in this circle is part of Freeridge's first annual play, "Hamilton"!" said Mr. Miller and everybody clapped.
"This will be a little musical so some parts were based off of people who's in choir with Ms. Grande. Now, do we have our lead actress, “Eliza” here?" Mr. Miller asked.
Students start to turn and start to chatter between each other to figure it out.
The doors that enter you into the theater busted open, causing everybody to turn to them
You came in jogging tiredly with sweat coming down your face, your script in your hand, and your backpack on your back. You just came from your house because you have to buy groceries from the store instead of getting on the bus to here.
"I'm-I'm here! I'm here! I'm-"
You screamed and found yourself on the ground hurt because you tripped over your foot. Some freshmen laughed at your fall.
"Y/N!" shouted Ruby and he quickly got up from his seat and jogs up to you. You slowly get up from the ground until Ruby grabs your right hand and helps you the rest of the way up.
"Thanks, Ruby. I appreciate it." you said. looking at him with a small smile.
"No problem, Eliza." said Ruby with a grin, making you giggle a bit as you grab your script from his hand.
"Now, that both of our main leads are here, let's start reading our script, shall we?" said Mr. Miller and you and Ruby walked on the stage and sat next to each other.
-
"Y/N!" shouted Ruby and quickly out of your thoughts that were flowing through your mind.
"Huh?" you said with wide eyes as you looked at everyone. You just realized you were still here about an hour later.
"It's your line." said Ruby and your eyes widened again and you quickly flipped through your script to where everybody was.
"Who lives, who dies, who tells your story?." you said while acting sadly.
"Good job, everyone! That includes practice today. We will be back here on Thursday to start setting up the scenes for the play. Everyone is free to go now." said Mr. Miller and everyone started to get up and started leaving.
You close your script hard because you were so glad you were glad for the day. You quickly got up and left out of the theater.
You took out your skateboard you have in your backpack and put it on the ground. You got on and started to roll down the sidewalk to get home until you heard your name.
You stop rolling and turn around. Your heart skipped a beat to see Ruby coming up to you with a smile with his backpack on his back.
"Let me take you home." said Ruby as he walks up to you.
"Awe, you don't have to. My house is literally around the corner." you lied, hoping Ruby would leave. You don't want Ruby to find out where you live.
"But I want to. I like you, Y/N. You're going to ignore what’s going on between us? I'm not going to act like I don't." said Ruby looking into your eyes confessing. He starts to get even closer to you but you backed away from him.
"I like you too but I'm just not in the right mindset to date right now. Too many things are going around in my life. I gotta go, bye!" you said and you quickly swipe your right foot a couple of times as you start to roll faster and away from him.
You look back to see Ruby with a puzzled face, making your heart ache and feeling regret. As much you want him to take you home, you can't because Latrelle is your cousin and currently living with you temporarily.
You hate that he was your cousin. “He’s hiding," he says. He always brings girls over for his pleasure, smoking all over the place, and leaving trash all over the house.
He is nothing worse than your father. An alcoholic with no job. Who's just let Latrelle with no questions about why he's hiding.
How are you still living in your house? All you. You are always working, cleaning, paying bills, while all going to high school.
You are still trying to figure out how you manage to do this while having average grades. You were glad makeup exists because you always have to put on makeup everyday to hide your dark circles from the late nights you work.
Sooner or later, you have to tell him but you haven't because Ruby is just turning back into himself. This play was a big step for him to become himself again because he loves planning and wants to make everything perfect.
You saw how Ruby got back to himself through your eyes by doing all of these pain-relief medicines, therapy, and doing fun activities with you and the rest of the gang like regular teenagers.
You're so happy to see him grow from his experience and you don't want him to relive his memory because of you. You just can't.
You entered your house with your skateboard underneath your right arm and you saw your dad knocked out on the couch with a whole bottle of alcohol in his right hand.
You rolled your eyes and you went into your room. You screamed to see Latrelle and his girlfriend of the week making out on your bed. Disgusting.
"Latrelle! What the h*ll?!" you shouted with a disgusted face. They quickly stopped and looked at you.
"This is the fifth time this happened, Latrelle! You got your own room, do you know that?!" you shouted angrily.
"Your room is the closest. We just in the moment." said Latrelle with a smirk and leaned over to his girl. He kissed her slowly as she started to go down his body about to reach his pants. You have to stop this now!
"Hey hyna! Get the h*ll out of my room now!" you shouted furiously and the girl looked at you with a stink eye.
"Little girl, I don't think you know who you are talking to." she said as she walked over to you with a glare and her arms crossed against her chest.
"You think I'm scared of you? Ha, listen. You ain't the first girl that he invited into my house and slept over so don't think you're special, Becky. With those low-quality "extensions" y'all say when it's actually a weave." you said and the girl's jaw dropped in shock.
"Actually, my name is Maria. This is not a weave, it's my real hair. The leader's daughter of the Prophet$, the winner of the Freeridge beauty pageant, the queen of-"
"Nobody f*cking cares! Now get your bad-looking blonde weave looking a*s outta here, Becky or I'll bust a hole through your head!" you shouted angrily.
You were mad now and you were willing to do anything illegal because of what Latrelle and your dad did today.
Maria grabs her purse from your floor and leaves the house angrily. You walked over to your bed and grabbed a shirt that wasn't yours.
"This hyna walked out in her bra." you said while looking at her shirt in her hand. You dropped it to the floor in disgust.
"Where do you think you're going, Latrelle?" you asked seriously. You turn around to see Latrelle trying to sneak out of your room.
"What Y/N? I need to go." said Latrelle.
"Oh no! You're going to stay here and clean up this house! I have gotten food, made dinner, working multiple jobs just to keep us underneath a roof! You have done absolutely nothing but bring girls and smoke ever since you moved in here! If you're going to stay, you should do something that would help in this household!" you yelled at him.
You have enough dealing with this every single day with him and your father. It makes you feel lonely and angry because they don't do anything. You felt like a grown woman when you should be enjoying your last years of a teenager.
"No! Let me be! You're just here to give us anything we want! We own this place! You can't do anything about it because you're just a puta!" yelled Latrelle at you furiously.
You looked at him with wide eyes as you were breathing heavily. You don't see your cousin anymore in him. You see a monster. A horrible monster ready to hurt you at any moment. Along with your father.
You felt tears coming through your eyes. You were trying not to break but it's not working at all, it was making it worse.
Latrelle grunts and walks out of the door of the house. A few moments later, you screamed furiously and tears started to flow down your tears heavily.
You fall down to the floor of your bedroom and just cry as you feel your eyes turning red. You couldn't take this no more. You try so hard to be strong but it's so hard without your mom here without you.
-
An hour later, you opened your eyes and you found yourself on the floor. You slowly sit up and grab your phone that was a few feet from you.
You look at the time and you see a few missed calls from Ruby. You slowly smile. It seems like Ruby is the only person right now that would call you this late at night.
A thought came into your mind and you slowly got up from the floor. You wipe your nose with a tissue and eyes as you look in your full mirror.
You see your red eyes almost returning to normal with your mascara running down your cheek. You wipe off your face and start doing small and natural makeup on your face.
You stopped to see your scars and bruises you got from your dad on your arms that are slowly healing and you felt your heart breaking again. You quickly grab your purse with your phone and leave the house.
-
A few minutes later, you found yourself in front of Ruby's house. You don't know why.
You slowly walked up to his door and hesitated until you rang his doorbell.
A few moments later, the door opened and my heart skipped a beat to see Ruby.
"Y/N?!" said Ruby, shocked that you were here at this hour.
"Hi Ruby." you said shyly and you look down to the ground.
"Hurry, come in," said Ruby, opening up the door wider and entering his house. He locked the door.
"What are you doing here at this hour? You know what happens after eleven?" asked Ruby, looking at you concerned and scared because he didn't want anything happening to you.
He looked into your eyes and you saw you were upset, making his eyes soften.
"Y/N...what's wrong? Did something happen? Is there someone I have to beat up?" asked Ruby and you chuckled underneath your breath.
"Ruby, you can't beat up anybody." you said as you looked at him.
"I'll become The Rock if anybody is messing with you." said Ruby and you chuckled again at his silliness. He always knows how to cheer you up without trying.
"But seriously, what's wrong. You came here this late at night. You should stay here for the night since you're here for your safety." said Ruby and he quickly went into another room in his house.
"Ruby, that's not necessary! I'm fine! I'm going to call-"
Your heart melted as Ruby came back into the living room with pillows, covers, pj's, slippers, and soft socks.
"Awe, Ruby. Wait, why are you here alone? I don't think you're completely better." you said being concerned to Ruby to ignore your situation right now.
"I'm not alone. Abuela's here but she fell asleep. My family is at a graduation ceremony for the twins for passing kindergarten up in Brentwood." said Ruby as he sat up a comfortable place for you on the main couch in the living room.
"Oh, okay. That's good. I'm proud of you. You're becoming better." you said and Ruby looks at you happily.
"Thanks Y/N. I'm glad you were here by my side all that time. I would've done the same for you." said Ruby and you felt a blush gaining on your cheeks. You look down so Ruby doesn't see them.
"There we go. Let me take that for you. Here, sit down." said Ruby and you look backed up and walk over to the couch to sit down. Ruby took your purse out of your hand.
"I'm going to inform your dad that you're here, okay?" asked Ruby, taking your phone from your purse and going to your messages.
"No!" you shouted with a scare to your voice, causing Ruby to look at you shocked.
"Please don't tell him. I, um..." you said and you felt tears coming down your face again. Not again.
"Y/N.'' said Ruby, concerned and quickly putting your purse and phone on the coffee table in front of the couch. He sits next to you and looks at you concerned.
"Come down princesa. What's going on? Please. You're scaring me." said Ruby and tears started to fall down slowly.
You couldn't hold it in any more. Everything that has been going on for you for the last few months you held up in your mind was just all coming out in tears tonight.
You have to tell him now. Not tomorrow. Not next week. Now. There's no way to escape. You were going to lose Ruby tonight.
"Ru-ru-Ruby?" you stuttered as Ruby was wiping your tears and the light mascara on your face that was running on your face off with his mom's makeup wipes.
You look into his eyes deeply for the first time. Your heart skipped to see his eyes soft and full of concern.
You felt such a connection. Ruby was feeling it too and you have no idea. Your heart aches that you won't be able to see into his eyes again once you tell him.
"I-I-I ha-have to tell you something. Something I've been ke-keeping for m-m-months." you stuttered and Ruby's eyes slightly widened at your statement.
Ruby slowly nodded and you did a deep breath. Here we go.
You told him everything. From the jobs, Latrelle being your cousin, your alcoholic father, both of them abusing you. Every moment.
You see Ruby's face become less and less full of expression and it just breaks your heart inside into a million pieces.
"I'm sorry. I don't know why I said all of that. I'm okay now." you said and you turn away from Ruby and face your body the other way to avoid looking at him.
Ruby didn't say anything. He was trying to process anything. He has so many emotions that he doesn't know what to express first.
He looks at you faced away and tries to figure out what to say but couldn't think of anything.
"I understand if you don't like me no more. Don't worry. I'm going to quit the play and you don't have to see me again." you said and you felt movement from Ruby.
You felt a hand connecting to your left hand and you looked down at it. You follow where that hand connects and it leads to Ruby.
Without saying a word, Ruby slowly pulls on your hand, making your body facing him. Ruby continues on pulling on your hand and puts his hand on your waist.
You look up at him again and Ruby wraps you with his arms.
Holding you was the only thing Ruby could come up with in response to what you just told him. He was furious, upset, disappointed, disgusted and many more emotions.
He hates that all of this happened to you and nobody didn't notice it. Not even him, making him disappointed in himself.
Ruby just holds you. Tight. On the couch in his living room. Both of you didn't talk at all.
Eventually, you fall asleep and Ruby looks at you deeply and starts to stare at your face features.
He caresses your face softly as you sleep on his chest like it was a pillow. He slowly gives you a kiss on your forehead, causing you to gain a small smile during your sleep.
"I'm going to make this right, hermosa. You’ll see next morning." said Ruby as he caressed your hair with his fingers.
-
A few hours later, you woke up and you looked around to see you were in a whole different room. You sat up quickly but calmed down once you realized you were in Ruby's room.
You turned to the other side of the room to see Ruby was not there. You grab your phone that was next to you on the bed table and saw a post-it note on it.
"My mom called you off of school today. Got some news for you outside this room. Put on the outfit hanging on the hook of the door. Take your time, maravillosa. -Ruby"
You looked at the door and your eyes widened to see there was an actual outfit hanging on the door. You get up and you start getting ready.
-
You did a final layer of lip gloss and you stepped back from your outfit. You were wearing a rainbow tie-dye t-shirt with jean shorts, golden checkered vans with your hair in a high ponytail and silver jewelry.
You opened the door to exit the bedroom with your phone. You jumped to see Ruby sitting on the floor in the hallway looking at you with a grin.
"Hola hermosa." said Ruby, making you smile.
"Hi Ruby. Um...what's the good news?" you asked remembering the post-it note on your phone earlier.
Ruby gets up and grabs your hand. He pulls it making you follow him. A moment later, you saw the rest of the core four and Jasmine along with Ruby's family and Monse's dad sitting in the living room.
They all turned to you and Ruby entering with happy faces.
"What is going on?" you asked with a shy smile as you and Ruby sit next to each other on another available couch in the living room.
Jamal turns on the TV and turns it to the news. Everybody turns their attention to the TV.
After the news came off a few minutes later, you stood up surprised.
"So, my father and Latrelle are arrested?" you asked calmly and everybody in the room quickly nodded.
"That means..."
"You're free, Y/N." said Ruby standing up and looking at you.
"Wait, really?" you asked and everybody started to cheer and celebrate. You started to cry again.
"Princesa, there's no need to cry." said Ruby as he caressed your face to wipe the small tears away.
"These are happy tears. I just feel revived." you said happily as you looked at Ruby. You felt happy in your life right now and it was honestly scaring you a bit because life can turn this left real quick in a few seconds.
"Wait, then where am I going to live? I can't live in a house by myself. I'm sixteen." you said.
"You will be moving into my house. Monse told me what was going on and I immediately said yes because Monse needs a girl friend to talk to." said Monse's dad.
"Thank you so much." you said happily and you quickly went over and hugged Monse and her dad.
"How did all this happen?" you asked curiously and everybody turns over to Ruby with weird grins on their faces.
"Y'all snitches." said Ruby and everybody laughed.
"Ruby..." you said softly as you went back over to him.
"Did you really do this for me?" you asked and Ruby hesitated to your question and nodded. It was true.
"I don't know how to repay you. You're been the sweetest and supportive guy I've ever had in my life and making sure I'm okay." you said. You met every word.
"Oh course, Y/N. I handle things for you. I don't want you to go through anything like that again." said Ruby and you hugged him tight. Ruby hugged you back quickly.
"Let's go celebrate!" said Abuela and everybody cheered as they started walking out of the door leaving you and Ruby, the last two people in the house.
"Wait." you said stopping him from walking out of the door.
"What is it, Y/N?" asked Ruby, looking at you deeply. Your heart skips a beat by what you are about to say.
"I know I keep on rejecting you multiple times for multiple reasons and I'm so sorry for that. Now that my life is better now, I was wondering if we can-"
Ruby kisses you passionately and you quickly kiss him back. You were dreaming for this moment and it was finally happening. You couldn't believe it.
Both of you ended the kiss and looked at each other with soft eyes.
"Y/N, we're together. And nobody is going to break us." said Ruby and your heart melted in happiness.
You and Ruby did a quick kiss and walked out of his house. You stayed with your knight in shiny armor forever.

ooo tell us ur omb opinions denise! :)
OK SO there will be on my block spoilers here
my favorite characters were probably jasmine and oscar. and cesar is my baby but i didn't love him in season 4 as much, although i kind of didn't love season 4 that much at all? i honestly didn't think oscar needed to die for cesar to have his journey of growth. he was gonna have a baby 😭 like couldn't they have killed off their dad instead or something??? i hate it here. i also kind of wish cesar and monse had ended up together :/
jasmine and monse's friendship is so cute and i like that they went from kind of being petty and immature toward each other to being besties. SPEAKING OF JASMINE there was literally no reason why they made it so she couldn't go to berkeley. i know in the Real World bad things happen and you can't always get what you want but sometimes i just want to see ppl be happy!!! idk. jasmine's character deserved better. i kind of wonder if the writers planned on making her such an integral part of the show or what bc in the first episode it didn't really seem like it.
sometimes the writing on this show was unbelievably corny and i'd be like, "literally no one talks like this" but i think every netflix show is like that. i also read an article talking about some racist elements of the show and one thing they said was that the actress who played olivia was white/not latina, which made me 🥴 and is also not surprising for netflix. ACTUALLY apparently the actress has also been accused of racism multiple times and is possibly a trump supporter??? i just saw this wtf. there was also that weird comment monse (i think) made about like shedding their metaphorical burqas and being free women or whatever.
last thing i will say bc i just went on a rant is that i think the scene where ruby visits latrelle in prison is one of the best things the writers did on the whole show.

Ok so i‘ve been thinking about this: You being so mad about spooky bc he‘s the reason why your bestfriend cesar has to go through all of that crap. Picture it like in S3 with him driving you home from the carnival and then confronting him. BUT: He likes you and kissed you and then you stay at his house? Maybe make it a longer one to include more from the carnival as well! :)
You got it!
You, Monse, Jasmine, and Cesar were at the local carnival with Cesar’s older brother, Oscar. It was weird with you because you had a crush on him; however, the things he had done had caused Cesar to go through a lot. The five of you had just gotten off of a ride and Jasmine had a kid vomit on her so everyone was disgusted while Oscar started laughing and began clowning Jasmine.
“Oh, I swear to God, I think I saw an entire churro on your back,” Oscar laughed.
Jasmine faked laughed before glaring at the Santo, “I’m gonna go get us some drinks,” she walked away.
“I’ll take a Corona,” Oscar called out, “but I don’t need a lime. I’m gonna grab one out of your hair,”
“Shut up, Oscar,” you laughed and hit his arm.
Oscar soon lost his amusement when he saw 19th Street, “I’ll be back,”
“Hey, you sure?” Cesar put his hand on Oscar’s chest.
“19th Street isn’t gonna start shit here. Too public,” Oscar walked away.
“So, um, how long is Oscar gonna hang out? I mean, not that I mind. I just...ok, I do mind, but I’m trying my best not to,” Monse asked Cesar, “although, you gotta admit, when he’s around, shit does seem to go down,”
You just walked away because you just didn’t wanna hear it so you quickly got a churro from a truck and got back to see Jasmine handing out slushie cups. The moment you walked back, Jasmine shoved the third cup into your hands.
“Nah, girl. Forties. I got them from the paletero,” Jasmine grinned.
“Oh. You showed ‘em your boob?” you looked at her with a ‘really?’ look.
“No. My third nipple, which isn’t even that big a deal because it’s in my belly button. I got an outie in my innie,” Jasmine did a small dance.
A cop called out for Cesar so Jasmine quickly said, “eighty-six the Forties!”
You didn’t do it because you knew that Hammel was a dirty cop so it really didn’t matter. Fast forward, you were now sitting with drunk Jasmine and Monse which kind of annoyed you, but amused you because of their conversation about getting the D. Cesar jogged up to the three of you in a hurry.
“I just ran into Dwayne. He wants me to go help my dad at the joint. I know we had a planned non-plan, but can we rain check?” Cesar asked.
“It’s fine. No problem,” Monse said bummed out.
“Thank you,” Cesar walked away.
Time had passed and you were still sober trying to get the two girls together so you could walk them home safely. However, it wasn’t going as planned because Jasmine stopped and wanted to do a challenge.
“It’s the Lunch Money Challenge, yo!” Jasmine danced.
“Work it, girl! Work that now, good girl!” Monse cheered for her new friend while you and Oscar stood by annoyed.
“Where’s Cesar?” Oscar asked, looking around.
“Went to go help Ray,” you rubbed your temples.
“All right. Well I’m bouncing,” Oscar began to walk away, but stopped short, “how are you guys getting home?”
“Someone’ll drive us,” Jasmine said, but you stopped her before she could say anything else.
“I’ll walk them home,”
Oscar shook his head and nodded his head towards the parking lot, “I’ll take y’all home,”
You sighed, but gathered the two girls and shoved them into the back to fall asleep while you sat in the front, closing your eyes temporarily. Soon, you were at Oscar’s house.
“You sure you don’t want me to drop you home?” Oscar looked at you.
“No. I don’t need any favors from you,” you groaned.
“You’re just too pretty,” he said.
“No, I’ve had too much bullshit!” you began your rant as you got out with Oscar, “you and your bullshit. Everything is always about you!” you slammed the car door closed.
“Hey! Take it easy,” Oscar pointed at the door.
“Don’t tell me how to take it,” you snapped.
“Go home,” Oscar tried to order you,
“You just want me to go home so I don’t say the things that I need to say. But I have things to say and I’m not going home until I say them. Do you ever think about Cesar and how you’re ruining his life? You got screwed and now you’re screwing him up,” you started imitating Oscar, “‘Cause I gotta follow the rules of the streets. Look at me and my muscles. I got a dumb teardrop tattoo, but I don’t cry because I’m a big man,’ toxic masculinity. Look it up,”
“You done?” Oscar looked at you amused.
“You know what? Everything bad that has happened is because of you! You jumped Cesar into the gang, you tasked him to kill Latrelle, and now, because of that, because of you, Olivia is dead, and Ruby will never be the same,” your phone started ringing, “you masterminded the take down of the Prophets, and they got kidnapped. Now, we have to find someone that is impossible to find, and if we don’t then I don’t know what’s gonna happen, but whatever it is, it’ll be because of you!” your phone chimed again so you looked down to see that it was your little sister, “it’s my sister,”
“The one you’re taking care of?” Oscar asked, “Cesar told me how you got into that position. Pretty messed up,”
“Yeah,” you sighed, “yeah, it was, but it’s whatever because I’m still gonna take care of her and make sure she gets out of here,” you teared up, “I don’t get how people will make their kids take care of their younger kids,”
“I know why,” Oscar said, “because they’re too selfish and want to do things for them. They want to live their lives and disregard the life that they made and shove them into another,”
“You’re right,” you started crying.
“Hey,” Oscar softly said while pulling you into a hug, “it’s gonna be alright. I got you,”
You pulled away, looking up into the brown eyes of the man you had a crush on. He leaned in and captured your lips with his and the two of you had moved in sync with each other. It had been going on for a couple minutes until the two of you needed to take a breath.
“W-wanna stay the night?” Oscar looked down towards the door.
“Ummm, yeah. Let me text the babysitter and ask if she can stay the night,” you sent a quick text to the babysitter who sent a yes, “alright, she can,”
The two of you went inside and laid down on his bed and just started talking about anything and everything. He turned to lay on his side to look at you, but you didn’t notice until a few minutes later.
“What?” you asked.
“quiero que seas mío,” Oscar laid his hand on your cheek.
“yes,” you grinned and kissed him again.

I wish the PD writers would be better with continuity. Like, is Hailey`s dad forgotten about, not a single conversation between Hailey and Jay about their relationship, what about Makayla - is that traumatized kid dropped at a babysitter for days when Burgess is out being a cop and then you have Rojas, the ghost, that just vanished into thin air. All this buggs the hell out of me. And now they are turning and Pat Halstead is suddenly a good dad, come on, he was an asshole to Jay for years.
I get it Anon. I’m a bit annoyed with the lack of continuity as well. I’m trying to stay optimistic that the conversations we haven’t gotten and things we haven’t seen followed up on yet will come soon. I will say at this point though, I’m not holding my breath for a Rojas mention. I really miss her. 😖
And as for Jay’s dad, I don’t think they were trying to make it seem like he was a great dad...we know Jay had his issues with his father and still carries a lot of guilt and regret when it comes to their relationship, but I think the last episode they were more so trying to show some sort of understanding with Jay, a bit of relating to Latrell’s character. We also have to take into account that the death of Jay’s dead was two seasons ago and we know there has been a lot of character growth and development on Jay’s part since then so I’m not too upset with how they played it out last week. Here’s hoping the rest of the season runs a bit more smoothly content wise! 🤞🏼🤞🏼

On My Block: Oscar “Spooky” Diaz - Type 8w9
Oscar (Spooky) is tough, intimidating and protective. He wants to look out for his people and is a strong leader with the Santos gang.
At his best, Spooky shows a more sensitive and caring side to him and wants to help the people he loves. We can see that he takes an interest in keeping an eye on Ruby after he is shot and tries to show his support to him. He invites him to a Santos party to try and lift his spirits and make him forget about his pain. He also starts to have less of a need for control and power and wants to have a normal life.
At his worst, Spooky becomes more aggressive and wants to have control over others. It can be seen with how he treats Cesar when he doesn’t kill Latrelle, he is disapproving of him and kicks him out to show he is no longer part of the Santos gang.
Spooky has a reputation that is feared by others on the block and within the rival gangs. His reputation is enough to protect Cesar while he is in jail as others don’t want to mess with Spooky as he is so strong and will fight back to protect his family.
Spooky had to step up from a very young age to look out for Cesar. Due to this he has a very tough exterior but Spooky has many hidden talents that are rarely seen as he is so private. Before he joined the Santos gang he was very interested in cooking and pursuing a culinary career. However, he felt like he had to stay on the block to be there for his brother Cesar. As a result he joined the Santos gang and fell into crime and ended up in jail at the beginning of the series.
Spooky genuinely cares about his brother Cesar and also wants to keep him and his friends safe. He is the one to bring Cesar into the gang, even though it is clear he is reluctant to join as he believes it is the only option for his brother to survive their harsh living environment. He thinks that it will toughen him up as well as allowing him to be keep an eye on Cesar and making sure he will be okay.
Spooky has a wing 9 as he is more inward thinking and is quite calculating in his decisions. He is a strong leader but also wants to find moments of peace with the other gangs and doesn’t actively want to do anything to hurt others.
Tritype: 8w9 - 6w7 - 2w3
Some quotes to describe Spooky’s motivations:
“Ain't no future if you don't handle your present."
“You know, the worst part about growing up without a father is having to be a father to a brother without every being a son.
“You know I would do anything for you, right?”
“I told you to stay at the crib. Use your head, before someone puts a bullet in it.”
"Wakey, wakey, biatch."
“You know I’m a hard person to love, that’s just how I am.”
Ray: I hope they don't sell you out. There's going to be a day when the hood don't love you no more. When your power is taken, cause this isn't a life, and you don't have to stay here. You can make other choices. Be something you want to be. Oscar: Thanks, papi. You're right. I can be president. Or an astronaut. Or a movie star. I can be anything I want to be because I had such a good role model! Ray: I had a shitty dad too, mijo. But you gotta let go of that rage. Oscar: Let it go? It's the only thing that keeps me going. It's how I survive out here without you. I'll see you around.
Oscar: Hermano, it's a new day. I don't need this shit. I want adult problems. Maybe have a wife, a kid. All I have right now is resentment and missed opportunities. I don't want that shit no more. It's time to give it away and start a new chapter. Cesar: What if someone takes your power? Oscar: Let 'em. You taught me the real power is all up here.
Jamal: Can I get you anything? Water? Coffee? Tea? Spooky: Personal space.

I’m also changing Starboy’s name to Latrelle Santos, I’m debating on just giving him a Cosmic Staff and there being two of them or if he has something similar, but anyways, Latrelle is partners with Courtney Whitmore and is a prodigy of Starman as well. Latrelle is from Dakota City, where his parents own a bodega (his dad is Puerto Rican while his mom is African American)
But of course his favorite song is Starboy by The Weeknd, it’s literally his theme song and he will play it from his phone as he fights crime because he need music for everything
