I love that more and more people are stating to hate Danneel. That girl has BEEN shady and I’m shocked it’s taken this long for people to see it….
@lightofraye has a post that makes it accessible and easy to see her behaviour and actions towards not only Jensen but also people in general. It allows us to make up our own minds on it but if anyone can come out of reading her post still a fan of Da-snoozefest then maybe they should reflect on why they support an evident bitch and abuser

i love max, but i can't lie, i want an insane, out of nowhere, total surprise, chaos everywhere, kind of race this week. i want kmag to somehow hold onto first, i want george russell to take himself, and all of the other big teams out. i want it to be kmag, bottas, zhou to be fighting it out at the front. i want vettel and alonso trying to kill each other on track, i want a preview of wish.com brocedes fighting it out for 8th. monza did not deliver in terms of insanity and surprises, so i need brazil to take up the slack. love max, but he's already won the championship, and this season has been a snoozefest, so i need some chaos and brazil might be the only chance
sprints are usually very status quo, cause no one wants to push too hard and ruin chances in the actual race.
Brazil is always a fun race though and with how wet track conditions seem to be~ party rock is in da house tonight
not opposed to max spinning out, esp if we get a surprise winner. my only priority is "anything but a merc win" everything else goes. mv1 p19 limping after GR (p20) has taken him out is fine by me and very funny.
obsessed that you sent this ask with a list of what you want like I'm Santa or I can make it happen 😭 human desire is truly endless

ALL ODDS FOR GENEVIEVE
1. what is their blood status (pure-blood, muggleborn, etc)? what are their thoughts on the concept of blood status? gen is a pure-blood. her father’s family is actually one of the sacred twenty-eight aka that list of families considered to still be super “pure” or whatever. as gen will learn, her family’s basically a bunch of pure-blood supremacists, with her dad being a death eater and all. however, gen literally could not care less about blood status, like it’s never made sense to her why certain people seem to hype up this so called “purity.”
3. do they bring a pet to hogwarts with them? she does! she has a cat (idk what kind yet, but i’m leaning towards something gray so we’ll see). her name is persimmon and she’s an elegant lil lady.
5. what subject is their favorite at hogwarts? which is their least favorite? is their favorite the same as their best subject? her favorite class is charms, mostly because she really enjoys flitwick’s teaching and she just overall really likes learning new spells. her least favorite is history of magic because binns is an absolute snoozefest. her best class is a tie between charms and ancient runes.
7. do they earn more house points or do they lose more? i feel like she’s not not often gaining points, but she definitely gains more than she loses.
9. thoughts on quidditch? do they play? and if so what position do they play? gen loves quidditch. her favorite pro team is the holyhead harpies. she’s played as a chaser for slytherin since her second year. often times the team gets regarded as being more brute strength than talent in the books, but gen is the odd one out on that, she’s definitely a bit of a show off when it comes and has worked hard for the talent she has.
11. what is their patronus? what happy memory do the use to conjure it? her patronus is a fox, which i feel fits her because foxes are sort of regarded as being the “tricksters” and she definitely has a sneaking around, double agent vibe during ootp when she joins the da in secret. as for her happiest memory, i haven’t really figured that out but it’s either going to be a memory of her and her best friend or possibly harry if they’ve developed enough by then (i have no plans as you can see).
13. what does amortentia smell like to them? the quidditch pitch, fresh cut roses, and profiteroles (they’re cream puffs and it’s a nod to the original plot i had for gen back when her entire story was different - it’s also the bit that’s a clue to harry)
15. if they needed it, what form would the room of requirement take for them? somewhere with a nice soft bed. she’s really going through it, especially during hbp, so she just needs somewhere she can just relax and be at peace for a little while.
17. what do they do/want to do after hogwarts? she doesn’t really have much of a plan to be quite honest because as of right now, i haven’t really found a career that i feel fits her just yet.
19. which unforgivable curse would they hate to have used on them the most? the imperius. i think she definitely would not want anyone being able to have her under total control and lose her free will.
send me a number + a hp oc!

Personal Best K-Dramas 2019
Here are my selections for the best K-Dramas of 2019. As we all are busy with lives, not all could be seen but I try my best to be at least watching 2-4 at a time.
Best Period Drama: The Crowned Clown / 왕이 된 남자 - tvN
My choice for the best historical, period drama of the year goes all the way back to the beginning of 2019. When a mad king, high on opioids thinks someone is trying to kill him, he constructs a plan to have an identical street clown sit on his throne to take the assassination. Turns out the clown makes a very fair king and falls for the Queen who has yet to have good relations with her King. Full of politics and romance, Yeo Jin-Goo gives a stellar performance as the two kings. Subtitled episodes can be found on Viki.
youtube
Best Fantasy Drama: Hotel del Luna / 호텔 델루나 - tvN
One of the highest rated dramas of the year, Hotel del Luna follows the story of Jang Man-Wol played by IU, who after committing her crimes a thousand years ago has been tied to running a hotel for ghosts before they move on to the next stage. Her destiny to finally be freed is tied to the new human general manager Koo Chan-Sung (Yeo Jin-Goo). Hesitant at first about his destiny they become a solid team helping each other in their lives and heartwarmingly helping the staff and guests of the hotel. With a killer soundtrack this drama really nailed it. Subtitled episodes can be found on Viki.
youtube
Best Medical Drama: Doctor John / 의사요한 - SBS
Doctor John was a surprising medical drama. Centered around a doctor who had previously been convicted for euthanasia. He is brought back to be the head of the pain relief department where he is seemingly able to find a cure for the most rare things. What people don’t know is that he suffers from a disease as well. Forever having excluded himself from personal relationships because of his disease he is able to grow to love and depend on one of the residents. Together they battle the debate of euthanasia and find a way to have a normal life for them. Ji Sung is stellar as Doctor John and Lee Se-Young really pulls off the caring and emotional struggles of her character. Subtitled episodes can be found on Viki.
youtube
Best/Cutest Romance: Her Private Life / 그녀의 사생활 - tvN
Every once and awhile you need something warm and fuzzy to watch and for this year Her Private Life really hit the mark. Chief art curator Sung Deok-Mi (Park Min-Young), secretly is a super fanatic fangirl of a member of a boy group. One day her new boss, Ryan (Kim Jae-Wook) comes in and is a famous former painter who is chasing down paintings his birth mother painted before he was adopted. When one of their main clients happens to be the singer she idolizes, Deok-Mi tries to keep her fangirling secret and also gets caught in a web of lies where she and her boss need to pretend to be a couple. One of the best pretend couple to real couple romance dramas I have seen, the two lead actors pull of a really natural chemistry that is adorable and sexy along with their own dramatic side stories. Subtitled episodes can be found on Viki.
youtube
Surprise Favorite: Search: WWW / 검색어를 입력하세요: WWW - tvN
When you initially read a drama will be about the battle between search engine companies… you would think this would be a total snoozefest. Centered around three powerful women working for two of the major search/news engines, this drama packs its punch with badass women getting shit done, realistic modern romances, and all the drama that comes working for powerful companies. It’s rare I clap so much being like “YESSSSS” over what is going on in a drama but the female leads of this drama, Im Soo-Jung, Lee Da-Hee, Jeon Hye-Jin I will gladly sign on to watch whatever else they are in after this. Battles over the law of privacy, conglomerate people controlling people’s lives and relationships with personal drama that feels more real than your generic “insert dramatic hill to climb” story lines. The soundtrack is also pretty addictive. Subtitled episodes can be found on Viki.
youtube
Best 19/20 Drama: Crash Landing On You / 사랑의 불시착 - tvN
Every year we get dramas that start in late November/December that carry over into the next year. So as my year straddling drama choice, I am picking the currently airing Crash Landing on You. Starring Hyun Bin and Son Ye-Jin, a beautiful conglomerate heiress gets caught in a natural disaster as she is paragliding and ends up crash landing in North Korea. Found by a North Korean officer, he brings her to his home to try and protect her and help her get back to her home. Chaos ensues and they need to pretend to be engaged, any many other excuses but as they each battle their own problems love grows. Currently subtitled episodes can be watched weekly on Netflix.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXMjTXL2Vks
Honorable Mentions:
He is Psychometric: compelling fantasy/crime story with a shining Idol/actor performance from tvN with subtitled episodes on Viki.
Kingdom (Season1): The first Netflix original K-Drama is a zombie/period drama with a stellar cast including Ju Ji-Hoon and Bae Doo-Na.
Melting Me Softly: For a light hearted romance drama from tvN about two people that are frozen in capsules and accidentally stuck for 20 years, how they get about in the modern world and handle the side effects and growing love.
Extraordinary You: Characters in a romantic comic start to become self aware of themselves and try to fight their predetermined story lines from the author. From MBC, subtitled episodes on Viki.

Absolute Boyfriend and Angel's Last Mission Mid-season Reviews
I've watched 10 hours of Absolute Boyfriend and honestly? Their kiss was a good enough ending, but somehow that is only the halfway point of this 20 hour drama. The story hasn't been compelling enough to make me care about the psychotic doll lady, the unhinged money-grubbing talent agent, the dumb robot company, or the dickbag Ma Wang Joon redemption tour.
As much as they try, there really isn't enough plot there to sustain the series in an interesting way. Plus, Da Da seems to only have three expressions: annoyed, confused, and blank. She spends most of the drama in a permanent 😐 face. They should have kept the comedic spirit with the weird costumes, the funny coworkers, and the robot hijinks because this morality play they're going for is a snoozefest. I tried, I really did, but...dropped.
Conversely, Angel's Last Mission is suffering from too much plot. The story would have been enough with Yeon Seo reclaiming her life, her passion, her love, and herself. The drama was already sufficiently engaging with Yeon Seo's conniving extended family and Yeon Seo learning to live with sight and compassion again. Except we have to learn about Dan's *yawn* backstory and the deity's whatever, and Kang Woo's blah blah bullshit.
I felt more in the scene where Yeon Seo shows the old blind woman how to use the phone to call her husband than I did in any of the scenes with Dan's sunbae. They could have made Kim Dan some destitute nobody who couldn't find a job except for being Yeon Seo's secretary and the story would have been just as good. Actually nay, it would have been better because we wouldn't have to waste so much time on deity angst and Kang Woo's dumb tears.
Anyway, I'm not dropping Angel's Last Mission, but I am disappointed they're squandering Yeon Seo's story (and Shin Hye Sun's acting) in favor of boring destiny bureaucracy between angels and fallen angels and what not.

You’re so right! Power is what she’d want and what she thinks she has but we hold our own power. I just don’t think I’d be able to hold my tongue about her treatment of him but I know I’d have to.
I’m so 50/50 on going to the con because I want to meet the boys but also don’t want Da-snoozefest to be there because we all know Jensen will just act different and it won’t be the same experience if she wasn’t there.
I have to stand by my morals on that woman, I couldn’t see her irl.
We let abusers in the industry get away with too much, if it was a man we’d all happily make it known we don’t vibe with him. I just don’t think I’d be able to pretend to smile around her. I wouldn’t out the abuse but I’d also find it difficult to let her get away with how she treats Jensen.

My thoughts on Mass Effect: Andromeda
My overall impression is that I enjoyed playing the game because the combat system is really smooth, and easily the best out of the Mass Effect games so far. So, yeah. A+ combat experience, lots of fun, cross-class capability and flexibility. The maps are generally very similar to Dragon Age: Inquisition with the forward stations (camps), obvious quest markers, and ability to set waypoints, only a way more massive scale as like the sprawl of Los Angeles, it is impossible to get around on foot, so you have to use your car, the Nomad. The Nomad is a vast improvement over the previous Mako, both in its capability and it’s near-indestructible handling ability. Apparently they got in some devs from the Need for Speed series to consult, and it shows. In a good way.
Despite all the griping of other reviewers, I do not feel that it’s a waste of time. It was fun, I enjoyed it. I could have enjoyed it a lot more, as there were a LOT of things that bugged me that detracted slightly from the experience. It is not the best Mass Effect game, and it is not the best BioWare game, but also probably not the worst. I don’t regret paying for it, and I think it has a lot of promise that might be fulfilled in either the DLCs or a sequel, though I feel slightly cheated because BioWare said it was supposed to be a standalone game and it’s very clearly not.
Now more detail into the Andromeda world, spoilers ahoy for ME:A and Dragon Age: Inquisition which I’m comparing it to.
ANNOYING THINGS
I’m going to start off with the things that annoyed me, the things that I felt could be done better. They are mostly narrative related. There are a lot of other pieces out there on the internet on why they failed so hard at animation (this tumblr post is a great place to start), so I won’t get into the details.
There’s nothing new about the Andromeda galaxy. Some of that is fine, because I never really felt that Mass Effect was all that groundbreaking in terms of science fiction world building, but the original trilogy was a really good execution of already existing science fiction tropes, like battling an ancient cosmic evil, biological life vs. artificial intelligence, etc. But it is kind of disappointing when you go to a new galaxy and you still find that the aliens are humanoid bipeds with an emotional range that’s the same as humans. Like, the Angara are supposed to exceptionally emotional…but you hardly ever see anything that is NOT a human-like acceptable emotional expression. Sure, when Jaal is pissed he gets really pissed, but there is never a moment that’s, “Wow, we have different ways of emoting, and what you just did would have been totally inappropriate in our culture” or something like that. Languages are easily decoded, and the Angara even have binary gender that correlate directly with our gender binaries. Worst of all, Jaal is straight, and that blows my mind. Like, he has a preference? Really? Despite humans being literally so alien they’re from another galaxy, Jaal prefers Sara over Scott Ryder? By the time you’re going xeno it’s so far away from what is probably your standard sexuality that I have no idea what rational basis his preference would be based on, but it enrages me that Jaal is apparently straight. I’ll get back to the subject of romances a little later, but… I’ve seen more originality in Star Trek: The Next Generation, and that aired in the late 80’s to mid-90’s. The Kett are essentially biological Borg, and they’re given such a laughable “bad guy” design that I just…*throws up hands* Some of the reasons the Angara are so similar are because you want to emotionally identify with them, and there is some base level of humanness that you need in order to romance Jaal for it not to feel weird. Like, I get that it’s less skeevy-feeling to fuck something that looks like Jaal instead of an octopus or sentient slime. Okeydokes, but I feel like that more could’ve gone into making Andromeda truly creative and they really just didn’t.
Your crewmates are boring. They are just so dull. It’s not that they’re bad people, in fact you get the impression that most of them have their shit together. But they’re all…good people, and that makes them tearfully boring. They have stupid little quirks that it feels like somebody filled out a character generation sheet in a tabletop, but they’re not even as fleshed out as somebody playing a one-shot would make their characters out to be. Everyone is fundamentally a good person, and lacking the darkness or the ongoing tribulations and trials that made your crew in DA:I so interesting. I’ll go through them one by one:
CORA is a snoozefest. I find her insufferable. At first she’s kind of stand-offish because she was supposed to be the Pathfinder, which I would imagine romancing her as BroRyder really weird because of her close relationship with your father. Then she reveals herself to be some sort of Asari-aboo, in the worst sort of weeaboo fashion. She refers to herself as an Asari Commando, and worships one of the Asari Commandos on the Asari Ark, and she just comes off as one of the creepiest weeaboos ever. Couple that with her “I need people to tell me what to do” character arc, and I just…tried to avoid her as much as possible. Do the loyalty missions even do anything? I might just skip hers and see if that kills her in my new playthrough. SO BORING.
VETRA is kind of sweet, and I like her relationship with her sister Sid. She has a rough background that makes her not a Turian citizen, but it’s kind of hard to feel especially bad for her because hey, she’s got her new start in a new galaxy and all that is behind her. Great! …there’s no darkness, no moral greyness about her. Sure, I’m sure she’s involved in all sorts of shady requisitions dealings, but she doesn’t even have the interesting quirks or usefulness that is Josephine in DA:I. I relegate her to the sweet, and I like her, but not romance material.
PEEBEE is annoying as hell. She’s like the manic pixie scientist girl who just won’t shut up, and her absolute commitment phobia is just…BLEGH. She’s like that flaky friend that depends on you for everything, and once you need help she’s all “NEW PHONE WHO DIS.” I feel like she’s supposed to be the fun Asari character who’s the opposite of Liara, and that managed to include her being a million times more insufferable and annoying. She also has that “I’m not like other Asari” that bugs in the same way that people go, “I’m not like other Asians” or “I’m not like other girls” that smacks of internalized misogyny or racism and…yeah. I had a one night stand with her with my first playthrough as an Asian Sara Ryder, and that was enough, thanks. :/
LIAM is a sweet nerd. His loyalty mission was fun. I have no idea why he doesn’t like Vetra. He’s fun to have around, but he mostly seems to have his shit together. He’s a good dude, he’s got my back. …and he does nothing interesting or fun or has anything interesting in his backstory whatsoever. So he’s really into nerd stuff and takes on the duty of first contact and culture sharing with Jaal and the Angara and he fucks that one up a little…okay, anything else? Nope. Snoozefest.
JAAL is supposedly all about emotional stuff, but so often he clearly just suppresses his emotions? He’s got like…a normal sensitive guy range of human emotions and the game is trying to tell me he’s amazingly emotional and I’m all like, “No, that’s just a healthy level of human emotions, yo.” He’s probably your second most interesting romance option, but he’s still in the running for the “pretty bland” title which is not saying much. He’s got a little more to chew through in terms of the Kett/Angara revelation, and the fact that he’s seen war and a lot of death, but yeah. …good friend, great skills as squadmate. Not interesting. Also not sure why straight. SOMEBODY AT BIOWARE JUST MAKE HIM BI ALREADY.
DRACK is the most fun of all your squadmates, because he’s this ancient Krogan but he has so much left to give. He is full of humor and fun and Krogan loyalty, and HELL YES DRACK is great. I wanted more Drack in this game. I am still disappointed that they don’t let you romance Krogan or Salarian. :/ Bummer.
SUVI is also a snoozefest. So she’s a religious lesbian scientist who keeps wanting to eat things in Andromeda. There is literally nothing else about her to write home about.
GIL bothers the hell out of me. He is the only gay male romance option on your ship, and that is not cool. He’s not a squadmate, and frankly, his story arc which is his best friend, Jill, pressuring him to have a baby with her smacks of the heteronormative narrative of homosexuals being problematic because they are stealing away reproductive opportunities. That is so regressive, that it bothers me. I’m not sure if they were trying to go the “gay parenting, yay!” route, but with Sara Ryder, it just smacks of gay conversion therapy because he does end up going to his female best friend to have a baby with her. EW. WHAT THE FUCK. I am told this narrative doesn’t go away if you are romancing him as Scott Ryder, so…DOUBLE EW. WHAT THE FUCK.
Again, these are all fundmentally good people. That means there’s nothing interesting about them as characters in a Mass Effect world. It’s not like in the DA world where you have this great representation of troubled and morally grey characters (e.g. Zevran, Anders, Fenris, Cassandra, Dorian, Iron Bull, Solas), so everybody is just boring. The only exception to this is…
REYES VIDAL and thank fucking god because he single-handedly (single-voicedly, perhaps, as he’s voiced by Nicholas Boulton, who is known to us DA fans as Garrett Hawke) saved the Andromeda experience for me. He is actually interesting because he is this morally grey character trying to make the best out of a shitty starting experience in the Andromeda galaxy, and he is put into situation where he makes hard and oftentimes not squeaky-clean decisions. AND I LOVE HIM. He’s very clearly from Antiva, and the Zevran Arainai school of charm, flirtation, and bisexuality, but DAMN am I not pissed at BioWare that because he’s a supporting character and therefore never joins your crew or becomes your squadmate, your interactions with him boil down to about 20 minutes of some 90-hours of gameplay. And he cuts off your other romance pathways as well (as I discovered the hard way), so I felt kind of ripped off that I am apparently exclusive with some mafia kingpin that I’m in a long-distance relationship with. No sex scene, just a couple of make-outs and a kabe-don.
…WHAT.
If I don’t get more Reyes Vidal in a DLC I’m going to flip a table.
More dangling threads than a Project Runway disaster. There was real potential with a lot of the background plot that was going on, but NOTHING is resolved by the end of the game except for the most urgent “where we gonna live?” plotline.
Things that are dangling and aren’t even sewn up before hitting the runway are: - Ellen Ryder is still in cryo? - Who is the Benefactor and who murdered Jien Garson? What is up with the shady shit behind the Initiative anyway? - Who created the Scouge? - Are the Remnant still around? Why did they just abandon Meridian? - The Kett are still at large in the galaxy… - What caused the course deviations in intergalactic space about 300 years ago? - What’s happened to the other arks?
NOTHING IS RESOLVED. I thought I was getting a standalone game, and it’s actually a bait and switch. There are more questions raised than answered, which bodes well for a sequel, but I’m not sure if I want Bioware Montreal to be the people making this game.
Hardly any of your choices matter. I feel more rail-roaded in this game than I have in a modern BioWare game, DA2 included. At least in DA2, while Hawke had absolutely no agency in the events surrounding them, at least your choices decided who you fought against in the final battle, and there was also the very real and very common possibility of losing one of your friends. If you didn’t play your cards right, Isabela could’ve left, you could’ve given Fenris back to Danarius, you could have killed Anders, your surviving sibling could’ve died in the Deep Roads, you could have killed Merrill, you could’ve lost the allegiance of Aveline…literally the only person who can’t leave you is Varric, so it feels like a real accomplishment when you do go through the game with everyone intact. The same is somewhat true for ME2 as well, as the final mission you can potentially lose squadmates if you don’t assign them the correct tasks and have their loyalty missions. Even in DA:I you can make choices about certain characters in their arcs that change them and their interactions with other characters, as with the Cole human/spirit decision, and the choice of whether or not to work with the Qunari and whether to keep Cullen on the lyrium which both have the potential to come bite you in the ass in the Trespasser DLC. DA:I overall had more meaningful choices that affected your experience, as in the choice of mages vs. Templars, but also the end world state of your game, as in who you picked to be Divine, and the fate of the Inquisition and so on.
You are almost never asked to make a hard choice in Andromeda. There’s no equivalent of whether or not to kill Anders, of picking between Kaidan and Ashley. The closest to the former is whether to pick to side with the krogan or save the krogan over the Salarian Pathfinder, and that doesn’t seem to change the ME:A experience much. You are never asked to pick between a squadmate, and the only meaningful close choice there is the choice between Reyes Vidal and Sloane Kelly (which, let’s be honest, is a real no-brainer because Reyes in the only interesting romancable character in the entire game and Sloane Kelly is a thug through and through. It’s like, pick between this gang leader and this smooth mafia boss; yeah, this is pretty clear). Everything else is…minimal. And that’s really, really sad. I’m expecting, throughout the game, to have to make that hard call between say, whether to leave the Warden or Hawke behind in the Fade (in my first playthrough, it was a real rough one because that was a choice between Warden Alistair [who was coupled with my DA:O warden, Lyna] and Marian Hawke [who was coupled with Anders]), and while that was awful and painful, it was also GREAT. There is no equivalent in Andromeda and that makes me really sad. The stakes are just lower overall, which narratively makes for a way more boring game.
The gay options suck. This is less sucky if you are a lesbian, but if you are a gay bloke, you’re kind of out of luck. As I stated above, Gil undergoes conversion therapy to have a biological child with a woman, and your only other option is the amazing and charming space ZevranReyes Vidal whose single downside is treatment as a SECOND-CLASS ROMANCE. If you want to get the Matchmaker achievement where you romance 3 characters across 3 different playthroughs, it is currently NOT POSSIBLE to do that with male characters without having to do something hetero. That’s so not appropriate.
Aside from awkward facial expressions, the fact that there’s one face for all the Asari, and relatively shallow interactions with other NPCs, those are my major ME:A complaints.
GREAT AND AWESOME THINGS
The Nomad drives so well. I hated the Mako from the first game, and I love, love, love the Nomad now. Driving across Voeld makes me feel like Dominic Toretto in that custom Dodge Charger running from a nuclear submarine in Fast & Furious 8 good.
Reyes Vidal. I don’t need to say more here than Garrett Hawke and Zevran Arainai had a lovechild and his name is Reyes Vidal.
Combat experience is smooth as silk. Which makes the new game + more awesome because diversifying skills and quick profile switching is FUCK AWESOME. It’s kind of a pain to set up, but once you’ve got going, you’re going good.
That trope where everybody you’ve encountered in the game comes and helps you at the end of the game. That brief moment during endgame in front of the vault on Meridian where the krogan you’ve saved and Reyes Vidal and the whole damn cavalry come to assist. YESSSSSSS I love that trope so much and it hit all my happy buttons.
Jump jets. I am never going to be able to go back to a game where I can’t jump.
Movie night was cute. It was adorable.
Low grav asteroid/planet was amazing and fun. I’m really surprised it look this long to execute that. I wish it were bigger? It was smashing fun to drive around on.
Asians in space. I’m finally glad to see some goddamn Asians in space, knowing how many damn Asians exist in this world, I am so glad to finally see myself represented? One of the Asian default Sara Ryders is also super cute and we played as her and it was SO FUCKING NICE TO FINALLY SEE SOME ASIANS IN SPACE THANK YOU.

thoughts on second fdc semifinal? honestly, the songs were so much better this time (and no snoozefest!! well, song-wise) and better stagings too. lena's song was cute and very 'lena' but the jury vote felt a bit biased... but generally, second round was much more interesting to watch than the first.
Yes, I think semi final two was more interesting (less boring) overall, but still, no standout song :(
Let’s go through the non-qualifiers first!
David Gomes had a cute song and he did an okay job performing it. It’s not an amazing song but it’s harmless and fun enough
“Andamos no céu” is pleasant but I don’t really care for it, I don’t remember it when I finish listening to it.
Beea - I don’t understand the choice to spell her name like that (does she like bees?) but I love people who’re not afraid to wear yellow. I like the song but I don’t think it’d have a chance in the big contest
“Se o tempo não falasse” is actually my favourite of the non qualified songs, I’d probably switch it with Lena’s song for a spot in the final
I’m pretty sure if ”Nunca Me Fui Embora” were sung by any other artist it wouldn’t have been ranked that highly by the jury. The Eurovision jury would not do the same thing. Pretty sure this won’t win tonight, I don’t see the televote going for this.
Jorge Benvinda with “Gente Bestial” - isn’t this just so… portuguese? Idk when he first started singing I just felt like, “Yeah this is us”  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. This one I can see getting televotes from the average person that doesn’t really watch Eurovision and stumbles upon Festival da Canção on accident. The same people who voted for Homens da Luta basically (that one was worse though). Doesn’t stand a chance in Eurovision
“Primavera” is delightful, one of my favourites overall. I don’t know how it would do in Eurovision. I like it a lot but I don’t think it would do a Flor-de-Lis (I wouldn’t mind a 15th place in the final, I can’t afford to be very demanding with what RTP gives us). I doubt it will win though.
“Don’t walk away” might be the most “modern” song we have (which is kinda sad??). It stands out because it’s in english but it’s very generic. Pedro Gonçalves does okay but wtf was he wearing? Apparently he’ll change his look tonight and I approve that.
So this is my mini review of the second semi final, stay tuned for a couple of thoughts on tonight’s final!

These 5 Books Will Change Your Life In 2019
Saumya Gaur February 21, 2019
“Reading is a conversation. All the books talk. But a good book listens as well.” This quote by author Mark Haddon aptly sums up the relationship between a reader and a book. Much before the advent of technology and the Internet, it was these leafy wonders that acted as the source of entertainment and education for the world at large.
While they might have not been as popular as they once were, books still command the respect of much of the populace. Even today, when the Internet is producing content which is easy to consume as well as digest, every now and then, there comes a book which captures the imagination of the world and goes on to become a phenomenon.
I have always believed in the transformative power of books, be it the Bhagavad Gita, the Quran or Das Kapital. Therefore, we have come up with a list of few books that will strike the right note this year and help you turn around your life. Curious to know what they are? Here you go:
1. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck – Mark Manson
Source: Amazon
The sassy title might be a little misleading at first but this treasure has been hailed as the self-help guide that will eventually mark a watershed moment in defining our generation.
In this book, Manson puts a new spin on the desire of being happy. Talking about the global desire for being happy, the book advises against the idea of constantly seeking happiness. Instead, it urges the readers and the world, in general, to accept their reality so that they can achieve their own version of happiness and not the one engineered by pop culture and media.
Written in a refreshingly conversational manner, the book makes for a great read for someone who is looking to get a grasp of the concept of happiness in this opaque, post-modern world.
2. Abundance: The Future Is Better Than You Think – Diamandis and Kotler
Source: Amazon
If the increasingly bad weather, despondent news makes you cynical about the world and its future, then this book is a must in your reading list. The book which claims to be the antidote to pessimism introduces its readers to innovators and researchers in different fields who are working to make “abundance” a reality. And a very near-term reality at that.
So, world hunger, no more! And bid farewell to the potential world war fought for water. And this isn’t a treatise written in a vacuum, all of the claims in the book are backed by exhaustive research. This is the book that will help you sleep better at night.
3. Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind – Yuval Noah Harari
Source: Amazon
The Guardian called this a “swash-buckling account” of humanity. If you are ever plagued with the questions of who we are and where we will be thousands of years from now, this is the book that you should read. Informative and engaging, the book covers a vast chunk of humanity’s history with an alternate view.
As a general view of the human condition, since the time it came to exist on this planet, the book does a good job of explaining major historical occurrences in terms of our present-day context. It also tells you that the Industrial Revolution was where it all went wrong (mind-blowing, right?). If you always found history to be a snoozefest, then this book will make you want to reengage with it.
4. Tribe of Mentors: Short Life Advice From the Best in the World – Tim Ferriss
Source: Amazon
Marketed as the “ultimate choose-your-own-adventure” book, and created by the best-selling author Tim Ferris of the “The 4-Hour Workweek” fame, this book is the ultimate self-help book.
It is a compilation of tips, tricks, habits, and wisdom from a very wide and eclectic range of icons, including professional athletes, entrepreneurs, and artists that can help you get your own life on track. The advice ranges from how to spend your money to get the most out of it, to the best early morning routine to how to make your loss into a victory.
If you are in need of morning (or day or night) affirmation, this is the best source of it.
5. The Universe Has Your Back – Gabrielle Bernstein
Source: Amazon
This is the popular self-help author’s (who shot to fame with Spirit Junkie) latest offering in the genre. Even if spirituality is not your cup of tea, this book will motivate you to be more receptive to the love of the universe and open yourself up to its myriad possibilities.
She gives the sound advice of cultivating compassion for your fellow-beings, doing meditation and letting go of your fears. This book has great takeaways for even the most sceptic of readers.
Let these books be the perfect tools to make this year, your year. Whether you choose one or all, that we leave up to you.
Do tell us which of these books you ended up reading and what was your take on that. If you have any other additions for the list, share them with us in the comments section.

Migos - Culture II REVIEW
Migos returns in 2018 with a sequel to Culture. Here is a track by track review
Higher We Go (Intro) - One of my biggest pet peeves in hip-hop is when artists make a song and just slap the word “intro” on it, what this is really an intro to is the rest of mediocre songs to come, as this song is pretty average all around. Grade: C
Supastars - This song is an absolute snooze fest, the beat is pretty band and the song is generally repetitive with weak bars. I’m not sure why this was ever released as a single. Grade: C
Narcos - Good production on this track but Quavo disappoints heavily, especially with the line “This real rap no mumble”... Grade: C-
BBO (feat. 21 Savage) - In this KANYE WEST produced track, it’s the first high quality song on the album, but I gotta say the bars can be better. Grade: B
Auto Pilot - Another snooze fest song with mediocre bars and repetitive flows Grade: D
Walk It Talk It (feat. Drake) - Great production and an insanely good verse by Drake, did not expect him to have the best verse on this album. Quavo could’ve made a better hook, and quite frankly a better verse as well. Grade: B+
Emoji a Chain - This song is straight trash, how did they think it was good to end the song the way they did? Grade: D
CC (feat. Gucci Mane) - A Migos-Gucci collaboration always seems to have pretty great production, but the bars are lackluster across the board. Grade: C
Stir Fry - Best song on the album. Pharrell Williams once again proves he's a genius at producing, and all three migos deliver great verses. Grade: A
Too Much Jewelry - A great track to follow up Stir Fry. Takeoff really impressed me on this track, reminded me of his performance on T-Shirt from the original Culture. Grade: A-
Gang Gang - Aside from Stir Fry, this track is the only one so far that really delivers a diverse sound. While I appreciate the effort, aside from the hook the track is pretty mediocre. Grade: B-
White Sand (feat. Travis Scott, Ty Dolla $ign & Big Sean) - I would say that this is one of the most well rounded tracks on the album. However, everyone’s parts are fairly short and it’s a shame we couldn’t have a longer track on this one. Grade: B
Crown the Kings - Zzzz Grade: C-
Flooded - Straight trash, what on Earth is the hook and production Grade: D-
Beast - A good track, or maybe it just seems that way after listening to the last two tracks. Quavo actually isn’t too annoying on this Grade: B-
Open It Up - Is it just me or is this song’s flow and production almost a straight up rip-off of Deadz from the original Culture? Grade: D-
Motorsport (feat. Cardi B & Nicki Minaj) - The most successful single from the album, while it’s been a tad overplayed by now, it’s still not a bad track. Cardi B surprisingly delivers a great verse and Nicki doesn’t disappoint either. Thankfully the album version is shortened as well. Grade: B+
Movin’ Too Fast - Offset absolutely nails the hook, and Takeoff follows with a great verse. I may keep hating on Quavo on this, but in my opinion he hasn’t been impressive on this album as much. I expected more from the Huncho Grade: B
Work Hard - Here’s a track where I think nobody really impresses, except maybe Offset. Borderline snoozefest Grade: C+
Notice Me (feat. Post Malone) - Quavo ruins the song. Post kills the hook, however, and Takeoff low key goes off. Grade: B-
Too Playa (feat. 2 Chainz) - Despite a dumb intro by Quavo, “Got this man on saxophone, he’s blowin’ keys, and you know we keep ki’s, the right way”, It’s actually a banger. It’s a shame its buried this low in the track list. I also think it’s a rule that whenever 2 Chainz is a feature, he goes off. Grade: A-
Made Men - WHERE WAS THIS THE REST OF THE ALBUM? Another tremendous track. The production is just amazing and all three migos kill it. Grade: A
Top Down on da NAWF - Spoke too soon, another trash song, it’s really disappointing, this album had so much hype. Grade: D
Culture National Anthem (Outro) - Don’t judge a song by it’s title. Except in this case, yeah it’s another bad song. It doesn’t seem mixed right at all, but hey, at least it’s an actual outro. Grade: D
In conclusion, this album is pretty hit or miss, and there seems to be more misses than hits. It also could be a lot shorter, the reasoning for it’s mediocrity most likely is the hefty length, especially when the original Culture had more than half the songs.
Favorite Track: Stir Fry Least Favorite: Flooded
Final Grade: C+

it's hilarious that the one Con you planned to go is the one with Danneel on it. i hope to see you there, hopefully you'll spend thousands of dollars just to see Jensen being all lovey dovey with her.
i hope for your sake that it's the most tooth rotting, sickening, puking inducing sweetness you'v ever withness.
Putting that in the universe ✨️
I’m taking it back from the universe. Weird that you’d hope for Jensen to endure fake love from that woman…
