This is one of my favorite bits of SBS lore

1980: The Australian government founds the new free-to-air TV station 'SBS'. It quickly gains the nickname 'Sex Before Soccer' after some creative attempts to drum up audiences sees it become world's only government broadcaster to regularly televise pornography.

Introducing one such film, a station presenter famously quipped on air "Tonights movie contains plenty of nudity, sword fighting, and nude sword fighting".

To keep censors happy, the pornographic films would often not be listed in TV guides, instead scheduled as part of multi-hour anthology blocks under titles like 'Erotic Tales' or 'Eat Carpet', where they would be mixed in with obscure international movies. As a result, to this day there is a generation of men in Australia with an unusually robust knowledge of European arthouse films, gained while waiting for porn to begin.

this was the best episode yet. the tension; the tragedy — the hopelessness of a bond born out of absolute darkness.

daon and justitia/bitna have always been inverse images of each other: law to chaos; warmth to cold; light to dark. that's why they're drawn to each other: they have always been two sides of the same coin — and with detective kim's death; that coin has now been flipped in the air. there's nothing separating daon from justitia/bitna anymore — nothing left except the seething red of his suffering. his endless; burning search for revenge.

there's nothing crueler than a gentle person who has been jilted by the world. daon has reached his limit — the emptiness in his eyes as he moved away from detective kim's body was chilling. by contrast; justitia/bitna's face fell into helpless vulnerability by the end of the episode — that last look at daon with tears in her eyes said more than a thousand words ever could. the sheer desperation in her face as she finally admits to herself that daon is dear to her — that she can't bear the thought of killing him. of sending him to hell.

that all she feels; she feels for him. the salt of her tears is the same color as daon's skin — the look in her eyes is the same shape as his lungs. there is no escaping it anymore. justitia/bitna has committed the worst sin an immortal can make — she has developed the heart of a human.

i like how the underlying message of this series is that a human himself is responsible for his own actions. taegu was given a choice by the satan & he chose to become a killer. daon was also given a choice but he remained righteous till the end even though he was burning with revenge. in the end, human desire is the greatest evil.
