It's a concept that he can't fully wrap his head around, too chained to his past and the things he's done to fully find himself. "What is it?"

Of course Mr. Kelly feels better: all he needed was a couple of IVs and a few nights of rest to be as good as new, despite Cuddy’s early ideas that forced this case upon him.

But as he diagnosed him, House had found more to this new patient than met the eye: he was a bit of a medical marvel, capable of withstanding a lot of the stupid shit it was put through, and House wanted to poke and prod him until he understood just how he worked—especially in the head.

So, he needed an excuse to get him to stay.
