Tiedoll has a sketchbook filled with drawings of everyone. His most difficult drawing subject (other than Kanda) was Cross because he'd always evade him. Cross hates people staring at him for long periods of time. He finally managed to sketch him thanks to Allen and the other kids distracting him over a board game. He's very proud of this portrait as the drawing shows the softer side of Cross.

Cross was once the undefeated champion of laser tag....

That was until Allen somehow figured out how to crawl up to the rafters of the laser tag building and snipe everyone from above.

Alma survives.

Alma fucking survives and joins Kanda in his quest to find a certain damned bean sprout and he is now pretty darn borderline obsessed with the white head kid who jumped head first inbetween a death match ( between Alma and Kanda, I mean ), cried on their behalf and then throw them outta the north American branch in the price of his own freedom. Who's name he doesn't know yet, mind you.

So when Allen starts throwing a fit after they do find him, he realises that not only Kanda will go to unthinkable lengths to make sure he doesn't fucking run away and does something stupid but also he has Alma literally breathing down his neck.

I'm screwed

Is what Allen can only think of when he has Alma smiling down at him sweetly as if he isn't pinning him down in the bed and looming over him with his bigger body with Kanda off all people staring at him with that look, hovering over just around the head of the bed.

The one place they fall asleep – where they’re not supposed to: kanda's very reserved with rest. its only in his bedroom with a locked door unless you or alma are there. its too vulnerable and private if not. he fell asleep in a cafe with you once, which was silly, but he'd been overworking himself and your shoulder was right there

The game they’d destroy everyone else at: im so sorry, but kanda's entire personality in regards to video games is just: skill issue. he doesn't wanna waste his time learning how to fight in a dumb game when he can just as easily cut your throat irl no problem. though if ever convinced, hes flexible enough to beat everyone at twister

What they act like when they haven’t had enough sleep: he's actually kinder, somehow. not like, allen's mask polite, but he's less bite-y and easy to anger. his baseline is too little sleep generally, but when he goes beyond even that limit, hes too sleepy to fight about every little thing, which translates as sudden kindness.

Their preferred hot beverage on really cold nights or mornings: green tea, always

How they like to comfort/care for themselves in a slump: kanda likes to throw his head aggressively onto your lap and lie there with a scowl until you coax his problem out through his grunts. you ask questions and when you've figured it out, you help him process it

What they wanted to be when they grew up: he thought itd be punk-rock to own his own store. he didnt know what it entailed, but once he was in a independent store with tiedoll and he explained why it wasnt like [insert chain] and when kanda said, "so, basically you're your own boss completely?" and tiedoll nodded he thought.. fuck yea. but what? what type of store, you ask? fuck if he knows or cares

Their favorite kind of weather: summer blue skies with those big, cumulonimbus clouds!

Thoughts on their singing voice: he can sing, and he's good at it, too. he's only shown it once, to prove to allen that "singing's not that hard, dumbass. anyone can do it." he's well aware not everyone can, but he liked gloating when he pulled out an angelic deep timbre in front of the friend group. if he sometimes randomly starts smiling menacingly, just know he's thinking of that memory

How/what they like to draw or doodle: hes the type to just write words in cool fonts or styles. especially swear words LMAO

University/City AU (DGM)

Going off of this post, I’m now thinking of what some DGM characters would study in general in a university/city AU setting (maybe taking place somewhere like NYC?). These ideas are mostly just for fun and I’m not actively thinking of writing anything with it, but I figured I’d share what’s on my mind. :3

Alma Karma — Starting with him because I’m biased and he is a favorite, but he’s majoring in fashion and textile design! Alma loves playing with different colors and fabrics to create vibrant outfits. He definitely doesn’t ascribe to certain gender norms, either, and likes to have a lot of freedom with his designs. (He also loves making clothes for his friends, and always wants to recruit them for modeling. XD) He’s also pursuing a minor in photography.

Lenalee Lee — She’s majoring in fashion design like Alma, but specifically, she’s focusing on shoes! She’s probably in a lot of classes with Alma, and they tend to partner up for projects and photo collaborations. Lenalee is probably also focused on accessories like handbags, and is working toward an internship with Anita (who is a well-known fashion designer in this AU >.>). Lenalee also likely minors in business, since she’s the type to want to know how to manage things. 

Allen Walker — Originally, Allen likely planned to pursue a degree in criminal justice. His altruistic nature makes him want to do good and make things better for others, but I can see him getting disenchanted with that field. So, he likely switches to political science to given him a broader scope of things to work with. (He lands on wanting to do youth outreach, which I think suits him. :3) He hasn’t decided to pursue a minor, but tends to get busy helping his friends with their own projects. (He loves to taste test whatever Link bakes. XD)

Lavi Bookman — Double major in library sciences and history! Lavi comes from a background of library and museum archivists, so he’s one to follow that path. He’s super fascinated with book collections and history (especially with the broad scope it covers), and is working toward an internship at a large, well-known library in the city everyone lives in. (Since he’s double majoring, he’s not planning to get a minor at the moment — but he probably has some English literature classes he opts into. He’s a fast reader with an eidetic memory.)

Kanda Yuu — He’s majoring in botany and minoring in photography! Kanda isn’t exactly a science-oriented person, but he likes working with plants and gardens in his free time. He doesn’t like to admit it, but he does have an artistic eye for floral arrangements (he’s very particular about organizing things), and likes to take photos of them. Because of this, he works part-time as a florist when he’s not overloaded with classes. (Since he’s minoring in photography, he also shares some classes with Alma.)

Howard Link — His family likely expected him to go into law (and he considered it), but Link ended up doing a culinary arts program! Specifically for baking and pastry making. While it has always been a hobby of his, he’s ended up taking it very seriously and wants to eventually open his own bakery shop one day. With that in mind, he’s double majoring in the culinary program and business (and probably shares some classes with Lenalee).

Johnny Gill —Biochemistry! Johnny has always been interested in the sciences, and decides to pursue biochemistry. He’s likely contemplating pursuing biotechnology (specifically industrial as opposed to medicinal) in the long run, and is really interested in innovation and improving things in day-to-day life for people. A lot of his classes cross over with Kanda’s, actually, so they interact a lot. (For whatever reason, in this AU I imagine he’s Kanda’s roommate. XD)

That’s all I have for now! I might add more if others are interested about this AU, but wanted to get this out of my system while it’s fresh on my mind. ^^

For the posting: You feel sad because you sent your request a year ago and I haven't answered? Don't worry dear, I'm not ignoring you, I'm just very busy and a slow writer in general. I don't like getting reminder, though. I understand it can be frustrating, but the more I'm pushed (even if I know there's no mean attentions behind it), the less I get into a writing mood.

It is called V Love D AU_Vampire loves Demon AU

The story is simple. What if D Gray Man’s exorcist+Akuma couple_Krory and Eliade is actually a supernatural race such as vampire or demon, they will be a mysterious, creepy but also wonderful spouse in the world.

Now, I’ll tell you some trivia of them.

1, Girlfriend or wife is stronger than boyfriend or husband.

2, Arystar Krory is a vampire who usually wears classic and formal look.

2+. His hobby are gardening and having time to visit sweat shop.

a = affection (how affectionate are they? how do they show affection?)

grayson would be the type of guy to definitely show affection. not the big kind, but the small kind. holding each others fingers while you get the groceries, feet touching underneath the table while you talk to avery and his brothers, a few hands around your waist from time to time. he’s the kind of guy to think that the smallest of touches mean a lot.

b = best friend (what would they be like as a best friend? how would the friendship start?)

oh, it would take a while to be his friend. he has major trust issues and is not the most friendliest person out there. (not that he cares.) though, when you kick down those walls of his, he would be that kind of best friend that’s sensible. stopping you from making mistakes, helping you study, looking out for you. he would totally be overprotective of you. he sees you as family, how could he not? (it definitely isn’t because of another reason.)

c = cuddles (do they like to cuddle? how would they cuddle)

the shock you would feel whenever you see that he actually likes to cuddle. not that much, of course, but in those perfect nights when he can’t sleep and you want to help him sleep? he’s as close to you as possible. hell, half the time he doesn’t even realize he was pulling you closer to his chest and digging his face into your neck. he’d never admit it of course.

d = domestic (do they want to settle down? how are they at cooking and cleaning?)

once he sees that you’re the one for him, he’d want to settle down. he won’t care where, as long as he’s with you, he’s fine with it. he’d also be the one cooking and cleaning. you’d want to help, and sometimes, he’d let you. but other times? nope. he wouldn’t want you to do all of the cleaning and cooking when he was right there. especially if you don’t know how to cook. he would never let you in the kitchen after what happened last time.

e = ending (if they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

he would not want to break up with you. the thought of being away from you physically pains him, so whenever he had to break up with you? what, are they trying to kill him now? if he had to break up, he wouldn’t be the one ending the relationship . it would have to be you. the words couldn’t even come out of his mouth. on the other hand, if he had to break up to protect you, he’d be selfish. make you hate him so you could move on quicker. even if it breaks his heart, he would do anything for you.

f = fiance(e) (how do they feel about commitment? how quick would they want to get married?)

he doesn’t know how to react to marriage because of his mother. for half, he thinks that marriage is important and wonderful. the other part of him thinks that marriage is useless. but, if he heard from avery that you want to get married, you better bet that he’s—about to have a panic attack. hey, can you blame him? after that, he’d totally be okay with marrying you. anyone else? hell no. but he began to realize that your name with hawthorne at the end of it was starting to sound good.

g = gentle (how gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

i could go on a full on RANT about how this man seems like he’s sharp and rough. he wants to be. but with you? he’s just a lovesick puppy. he takes care of you, like you were his most prized possession—which in his eyes, you were. (in the most non-sexist way.) at first, he treated you like that because he was afraid. afraid if he was too rough you would leave him. but now? it’s just an instinct. he likes to be gentle with you. sometimes he’s rough, but that’s rare.

h = hugs (do they like hugs? how often do they it what are their hugs like?)

grayson isn’t the type of guy to hug you twenty-four seven, but, he is the type of guy to give you the most amazing hugs ever. at least you think so. back hugs and tight hugs where he bends you back a bit are his go-to.

i = i love you (how fast do they say the l-word?)

grayson says i love you in different ways. when he squeezes your hand three times; i love you. when he puts a hand on your knee whenever you’re anxious; i love you. when you’re lying your head on his chest and his arm is around your waist; i love you. when he started to try when he actually says it, it would be on a date. a month after you two got together. it was perfect—the two of you were on a walk, leaving a date. you just looked too beautiful underneath the trees while the lights shined against your face—it slipped out.

j = jealousy (how jealous do they get? what do they do if they’re jealous?)

i don’t see grayson as the type to get jealous. hell, he barely gets jealous. he knows you’re loyal and he knows his worth. but, the few—very few—times he is jealous, he’s quiet jealous. he doesn’t say anything vocally, but he does touch you more. a simple hand around your waist or on your back. most of the time, that was enough. that, and with death staring at the dude who decided to try to hit on you.

k = kisses (what are their kisses like? where do they like to kiss you? where do they like to be kissed?)

he has two types of kisses. long, passionate ones that make you breathless and lean into him, or short, small ones that make you giggle and smile. he doesn’t have a particular spot where he likes to kiss you, but he’s fond of forehead kisses or just real kisses.

l = little ones (how are they around children?)

he’s literally so nervous and doesn’t know what to do around children. he only likes a few type of children. when he’s with those, he’s soft and gentle, making sure not to treat them harshly or to make them sad. definitely spoils them. he tries to hide his frown whenever he has to leave them, but you totally see past his fake face.

m = mornings (how are mornings spent with them?)

peaceful, calm. he’d spend a few minutes just staring at you, looking at your sleeping face. he wouldn’t wake you up, though, and instead he’d get up and do his morning routine then make breakfast for the two of you. (he denies whenever jameson or xander asks if he could have some) and then wake you up so you could have some.

n = nights (how are nights spent with them?)

perfect. at least he would think that. it depends on what the two of you are feeling, but most of the time, you’re forcing him to watch another episode of your favorite movie series with him before he forces you to go to bed. when you’re not feeling that, he’s trying skin care with you. don’t want to put face masks on? he’s setting a bath for the two of you. other nights, he takes you on dates. whether it he to a fancy restaurant or a simple picnic date while looking at the stars; it’s perfect.

o = open (how would they start to reveal themselves? do they say everything at once or start slowly?)

oh, with grayson, definitely slowly. just some facts about him here and there, letting you slowly get to know him while he comes out of his shell that he (secretly) desperately wants to come out of. (even though he says he’s fine with not talking to anyone) whenever you start to remember the facts and reminders he told you about himself, he practically felt him fall faster for you. maybe, one night, when it’s just the two of you, he’ll come clean and tell you everything.

p = patience (how easily angered are they?)

it takes a lot to get grayson hawthorne angry, but when it comes to you, he’s like an overprotective dog. it might not seem like it, but whenever someone tries to walk all over you or talks shit about you he’s already planning their downfall. now, with you, you’ve never seen him angry before. playful angry, yes, or maybe a bit annoyed, but not full on anger.

q = quizes (how much would they remember about you? do they remember every little detail you mention or do they kind of forget everything?)

he never forgets anything. if he feels like he’ll forget, he’s taking pictures. pictures that make him feel like he was there again; the way your laugh sounded like in his ears, the way you smiled, everything. he sometimes brings up the details that you told him and whenever you look at him with wide eyes, he just looks at you curiously. of course he’d remember everything about you. he was your boyfriend. what was he, a thirteen year old boy?

r = remember (what’s their favorite moment in your relationship?)

definitely the date he took you on before the two of you had your first kiss. he took you to one of those fancy restaurants—but one that wasn’t too crowded because he knew how you get with a lot of people—and turns out, he’d already made a reservation for the two of you. he would push out your chair so you could sit in and push it back in for you, like the gentleman he is. he’d be the one ordering (if you want him to) and of course he got your order right. if you were a picky eater, he made sure that anything that you didn’t like wasn’t on your plate. then, after eating, naturally, he payed and grabbed your hand as you got up. once you got into his car, he couldn’t help but to feel excited. he would take you to his favorite place, the place that only the two of you know about. your place. and he thought that that place would stay his favorite forever.

s = security (how protective are they? how would they protect you? how would they like to be protected?)

like i said, grayson is like an overprotective dog. he’d make sure that you weren’t doing anything that would get you hurt and would not take the shit people say about you. your life before his. though, he couldn’t lie that it does make him happy whenever you want to protect him too.

t = try (how much effort would they put in dates, anniversaries, gifts, and everyday tasks?)

are we talking about the same person here? this is GRAYSON HAWTHORNE. of course he’d put so much effort into the dates, just to see you smile. you’re going on a date? boom, reservation, music, ect ect. you want it to be small? boom you’re watching the stars with him. your anniversaries are coming up? the bed’s filled with rose petals and on your bedside table? a large bouquet filled with your favorite flowers with bags underneath it. barnes and noble, dior, the whole thing. half assed dates or presents are not in his vocabulary people!

u = ugly (what would be some bad habits of theirs?)

overthinking, sometimes not telling you things. also kissing you a lot. definitely a bad habit.

v = vanity (how concerned are they with their looks?)

when he was a kid, he was insecure. that trauma was with him growing up, which only added on-to his everything about me needs to be perfect mindset. but with you? insecurities gone. of course, sometimes he’d be worried about how he looked in front of you—does he look bad? is it too much? do you find it embarrassing?—but with one smile of yours and words, immediately gone. he was safe with you and he knew that.

w = whole (would they feel incomplete without you?)

yep. do i need to say anymore? of course he would. you’re his world in his eyes and without you? absolutely destroyed gone dead gone.

x = xtra (a random headcanon about them)

GRAYSON HAWTHORNE LISTENS TO ASMR PEOPLE. well, at least he used to. it stops him from overthinking at night and lets him actually sleeps. when the asmr doesn’t work, he swims. (he never tells anybody about it though, you just found him listening to it on accident)

Inktober Day 15: Yuu and Alma

I couldn't very well do Inktober without a Yuulma fanart.

I can't get your yakuza headcanons out of my mind, Daitou's got me in a chokehold and I'm not complaining, like--

in regards to that doodle you made to show height difference between reader and the boys [I love your art btw (●♡∀♡)] - I can't picture myself in reader's style, I'm currently going through my goth phase in my 20s lmao; picture a big bitch with tattoos and messy hair who's listening to nothing but 2000s hits and screamo bands - so I'd like to request a headcanon of how Daitou would react to a gender-neutral reader like this :D I also like to incorporate the idea of them once being in a famous band that he's a fan of! (sorry if this seems like a lot, I have a huge imagination hehe)

but if he's more into the cute and helpless type, I'll just walk my ass out the door and yeehaw my way into another yandere's arms ✌😔

That's on me for not drawing the reader inserts as cartoonish cinder blocks :') In truth I'm a little bit embarrassed seeing how many likes that doodle has gotten, it was something I put together in a hurry and the clothing was meant to be baggy, shapeless, with not too many folds for the sake of simplicity. I myself am more of a pilgrim goth, just to emphasize the randomness of the choice.

Drawing reader inserts always leaves me a little anxious. If I use a light shade of gray, will people think I'm excluding poc? Will plus sized readers feel like they've been disregarded? What about masculine readers? As someone who's demiromantic I always struggle taking appearance or gender into consideration, because to me it has no influence whatsoever. Which is hard to express when you want to offer blank slate visuals as an extra to the story.

What I'm trying to say is that all of my characters would like you for who you are. Sure, they find your looks cute, but it's not the defining reason. Maybe you have similar traits to them, maybe you're the complete opposite and they find it intriguing. You could be a buff man and Daitou would be just as grateful to have someone who isn't afraid of him. I usually stick to a female reader for bigger stories to avoid messing it up long term, but in the grand scheme of things it makes no difference. I always imagine reader to be a shapeless blob that provides the dialogue I need for the story mood. There's no concrete preference or type for any of my OCs. I mean, ideally you'd like them back and not hang them upside down above a BBQ pit but I feel these are sensible requirements (?).

And now for the actual headcanons since my ramble is over.

First encounter is comically awkward but for reasons you’re unaware of yet. You’re obviously used to people staring at you (more so in a country like Japan), so you were expecting the curious glance every now and then. On the other hand, being under scrutiny, from a man even more unusual looking than you at that, is odd. Mildly uncomfortable. You’re shifting yourself from one leg to another, hoping to be done with the introductions soon.

On his end, Daitou is anxiously fidgeting and trying his best to focus. He’s seen this face before and he can’t shake off the familiar feeling. Where the hell…He obviously can’t downright gawk at you, and he isn’t sure how to politely formulate a question. After several sheepish peeks, it finally dawns on him: weren’t you part of that band he really likes? No, what would the chances be? Then again, how many people out there would look exactly like you? Is it rude to ask? He has no idea. He resumes his mumbled description of the apartment and hands you the papers to be signed.

Back at his place, he finally digs through his merch and sprawls out the available clues. “I didn’t know you were into this kind of music”, Kazuya comments as he looks over the man’s shoulder. He’d come over to ask about the new tenant. “I’m pretty sure it’s them.” He concludes, confidently placing his index over a CD cover. “Huh? Who?
