yeonjun is known around the campus to be the helpful senior of the semester so of course he is gonna spot you one.

or so you think.

in the beginning hes like, “yes why not?“ with a big smile and reassurance gripping each word that comes out of his voice box like the extra safe and absorbent pads in those days of your period the commercial promises you.

fake promises of course just like yeonjun.

searches his bag, there is no pen.

he is sweating, he is gonna be called a liar, and then everyone in the city will know him as a liar, and once the city knows something, the country will soon and once it hits national news it's only a few seconds until CNN makes a headline out of it.

he is gonna be known as the international liar.

he DOES NOT want to be known as the international liar.

he is sweating on his backpack. he is panicking. his teeth are chattering, he is seeing two backpacks instead of one.

and he is about to flood the whole damn classroom until he gets out of this situation fast.

the water level in the classroom is already up to the ankle level when you utter those words that pick him up from his crisis.

“oh i already had one. thanks anyways :D”

he turns back to look at you with the perfect grin and nods as wind suspiciously blows in the air conditioned room with no windows open.

when you go back to your desk he casually slinks away to kai to borrow one of his pens.

yeonjun then for the rest of the semester you share the class with him and greets you with a handful of pens, always ready if you want one.

he is NOT going to give you one.

and he is not going to be honest about it.

not because he doesn't want to hurt your feelings. he couldn't care less about it frankly but rather than the fact he does not want to witness you moping like he's still a soft hearted, kind person.

so instead he comes up with detailed amounts of redundant fibs he has created to get you off his back.

suddenly the lighting changes and you find yourself beside soobin, softly patting his back as he tells you the tale of how he traumatised himself by giving someone all of his pens when he had an important exam to give and during the time

that person didn't give it back to him so now he only carries one pen that he might need.

also blames it all beomgyu, deeming him the man in his fantasy who had taken all his pen and left him in shambles.

beomgyu loses some popularity in the campus but you lose and win some

nobody asks soobin for any pen.

and beomgyu takes down a peg.

although soobin's little lie almost comes to an end one time when you catch his incredible collection of pens falling on the ground.

he gaslights you into thinking those are tampons and he moves on with his day.

and you might ask why he doesn't want to share pens?

it's because he's an introvert, he's too shy to ask for his pen back.

you're about to ask him for one when he looks back at you with an all too familiar look.

this mf too did not bring a pen.

of course he will give you one.

but he is also gonna be breathing down your neck every second of the minute you have his pen in your hand.

you look up from writing your name on the page and he's there in your vision line watching you like a hawk as if you would make a run for it with his pen.

says he's fine when you ask him if you could keep using it for the rest of your classes.

you should have been aware that there were more than well intentioned those bright eyes of his.

but with your every move, he's there in the vicinity of your vision, watching your every move that you take with his pen in your bag.

you go to the bathroom to freshen up from the cold sweat that has been coating your body and he is there, right in the stall, perched on top of the toilet looking at you.

you are going to catch your boyfriend in the act of cheating and he passes by whispering not to get blood on his pen.

you're almost fearing for your life when you go to give his pen and swear with your blood drawn that you would never forget your pens ever again.

he laughs at your little confession, mistaking it to be a little joke, completely unaware of his own eerie mien.

says there's one thing left to do with his pen and writes his number on your palm.

you might have to ask for it again though since the sweat has almost erased it.

he would.

if he had any left.

from the moment he stepped into the classroom everyone surrounded kai like a clique of useless zombies and snatched every last pen from him.

from the day when kai had to fight one person over his own.

begging, crying, and throwing up for the pen as they both play tug of war with the pen in the middle of the classroom, kai has sworn to himself to hide at least one pen in his underwear for the sake of education.

taehyun had once asked him.

”why do you bring all these pens if they steal it anyway?”

kai taken a swig of his apple juice, wiping the remnant from his lips and replacing it with a proud smile.

”because of my reputation as their savior”

taehyun—ok i get it you're a pushover.

the day you ask him for the pen, he had saved two fortunately.

but he is conflicted to turn you down, or to give you one that's been marinating awfully close to his pair of oranges.

he has made the decision.

he was going to ask for one of his pen back.

and he is going to ask for it from beomgyu, who probably could have started a whole business with all the pen he stole from kai.

and he surprisingly gets one them back back.

”well that was exhilarating.”

you- “...”

kai actually gets all of his pens back during his graduation.

all of them.

with all these assets suddenly back in kai’s positions, taehyun and beomgyu appears beside him with a business proposal kai just can't turn down.

“let's sell these.”

hah..so it has been a long, long time since I've shit posted.

🕷 ⊰ good question. but also kind of easy. at least to him. between the two– it’s quite obvious what his decision would be. but something about it’s also kind of bitter– kind of tragic. worse looks a lot like a monster– like high school. like when he’s ambling down the hall and everyone immediately files away. like dodgeball in gym class and everyone’s aiming specifically at him. like he deserves this. like he’s a monster. and for the longest time, he never really knew why. his reply is delayed though. the question hit some kind of nerve, or maybe he’s just lost in the film of his memories. the question’s not meant to be this deep though. it’s probably just out of curiosity– probably just small talk to the man.

“it’d be worse to live as a monster, i think. once people see you as a monster, it’ll be hard for them to see anything else in you.” he nods as his gaze winds around the buildings before finally landing on the other. the traffic light changes to red and the crowd behind them begins walking across. “i think if i die, i’d want to die as a good person. it doesn’t matter how, or where, just– i’d want to die doing good. just good. what about you, man?”

『 ✝ 』     NOTHING SURPRISES HIM ABOUT DAEHYUN’S ANSWER.  which speaks kindly toward the young man’s character,  though hunter hadn’t known him for very long, he can tell the boy his earnest and kindhearted. hunter almost  ENVIES  him, in a way ... he can tell the younger man could answer the question with hardly any trouble - but he himself ?  a struggle. he doesn’t know - dying a good man sounds glorious;  but would he really be a good man if he just wants the glory ?  the way he lives, now;  a rich, well-loved man with a name that extends much farther than its simple six letters - most people want this kind of existence, would  KILL  for it. but he can’t help but feel as though everything’s been built on lies, as the only truth to his public persona is his personality ... and even  THAT  was exaggerated from time to time. he isn’t human, and  HUNTER  isn’t even his  REAL NAME. is it ... wrong ?  because he knows that if the people knew what he  REALLY IS - that’s exactly what he’d be to them.  A MONSTER.  

                 ergo, if he fails to take this lie to the grave - it’s inevitable. he’ll die a monster ... everything he’s done will amount to nothing because everyone will be afraid of him.  WHY ?  WHY ARE HUMANS LIKE THIS ... !?  since the day he was born, he was told of how mortals would fear him, despite knowing nothing about them. how fragile their mentalities are, how  QUICKLY  they generalize, and fear. his head lowers for a moment, a strong winter wind brushing his fringe away from his eyes, prompting him to raise a hand and undo the mess  MOTHER NATURE  has made with his hair. 

                 ❛  somethin’ told me you’d say that,  ❜  hunter’s voice is soft as he responds, a melancholic smile etched delicately above his chin,  ❛  you’re a good person. an’ you’re right ... once you’re a monster, you can’t ever be anythin’ else. unless you’re lucky, but, it isn’t wise to bank on that. me ?  well ... i’d like to die a good man, but, i don’t know if i can. i do everythin’ i can to avoid hurtin’ anyone, i do what i can, but - i dunno. somethin’ about it seems so  UNATTAINABLE,  almost. for me, at least.  ❜  despite the weight of these words, he’s smiling as he looks over his shoulder at the other, the tiniest laugh crawling up past his throat.  ❛  yah, i didn’t mean to sound so damn depressin’, but, oh well.  ❜

She hated coffee. The taste, the smell, everything about it made her toes curl and she didn’t know why. But here she was, in a small corner of a coffee house in downtown Seoul nursing a mug of the disgusting substance by her chapped lips, whilst her eyes remained transfixed on the figure sitting lonesome by the window. She hated mornings. She hated having to spend another day asking the same questions, about the same things when in reality all she wanted to do was live her life in solitude. But here she was, at 7am in the middle of winter watching in silence as the stranger who had her mesmerized scribbled furiously into a leather bound notebook. She loved the way his eye brows would furrow together in concentration behind the soft strands of dark brown hair that fell across his face. She loved the way his slender fingers held his black ink pen with such delicacy, as if the words themselves were precious life given. She loved the way he smiled at the waitress, an amusing lady in her mid-forties with such genuine happiness that she found herself feeling jealous. She loved the way he didn’t notice her. She loved the way she could admire from afar, without bringing the beautiful stranger into her heartache, into her torment. She loved the way she felt at peace when she watched him, if even for a moment before he stood gracefully and walked with long strides out the door and into the frosty morning. She hated how she couldn’t stop coming back. 7am every morning, to the same seat in the same corner. She hated how she started to enjoy the taste of the coffee. The bitter twang dulled by the warmth. She hated how she knew she couldn’t live without him and he didn’t even know her name. She loved the way it felt when spring came along. She loved the way it felt when she walked through the doors of the café at 7am and sit by a window instead of her corner. She loved the way it felt when her coffee was placed in front of her without her having to order. She loved the way her handsome stranger walked through the door, albeit an hour late and smiled his beautiful smile at her. She loved the way he sat, with perfect grace into the seat across from her. He loved the way she hid her smile behind a delicate palm as he told her she was beautiful in every which way. He loved the way she laughed as silent as it was. And he loved the way she bit back tears as he handed her his leather bound notebook and told her to read the story of his first love, his only love the beautiful girl who sat by the corner and listened with her heart; And she loved the way he handed her his pen fingers lightly brushing each other’s as he asked her to write the other half.
