Overall, the recording process for the new album has been incredibly uncomplicated, definitely smoother than I was expecting. This was my first time traveling abroad to record new music, and I was really nervous in the days and even weeks leading up to my flight; I made sure to rehearse intensively and even went back to taking voice lessons with a teacher for a couple months, which I believe resulted in me feeling and sounding more confident than ever before. 

This preparation, coupled with the fact that Déhà is an incredibly warm, friendly and easygoing person to deal with, made everything easier, especially considering how vulnerable the lyrical content of this album feels to me. I was afraid I would get too emotional and fuck things up because it definitely happened a few times while I was recording demos in my living room, but thankfully none of my fears materialized. True,  things could get chaotic at times– some days we would stay holed up in the studio for hours and forget to eat, because we were so absorbed by what we were doing. And there were definitely a couple of instances where I was unable to sing or ever speak for a while because I was laughing so hysterically my belly would hurt.  

Chaos aside, we really took care of the tiniest details throughout the process and it was so refreshing and encouraging to me to work with someone who had so much enthusiasm for what we were doing. It was definitely a weird, intense and emotional experience for me but I’m happy I got to work with someone who understood my vision and to learn so much from him about producing albums and even about myself as a musician and songwriter.

Le registrazioni del nuovo album sono state estremamente lineari, e di sicuro molto più facili da affrontare di quanto mi sarei aspettata. Per la prima volta, mi sono trovata a viaggiare all’estero per registrare nuova musica, e nei giorni (e settimane) precedenti la partenza ero abbastanza nervosa. Ho fatto in modo di esercitarmi con costanza e ho persino ripreso a studiare con un’insegnante di canto per un paio di mesi, cosa che mi ha reso molto più sicura di me come cantante.

Tutti questi preparativi, uniti alla personalità di Déhà, che è un tipo estremamente amichevole e alla mano, hanno reso le cose estremamente semplici, anche visto e considerato quanto fosse personale il contenuto di questo album per me. A un certo punto temevo persino di emozionarmi troppo e rovinare tutto, dato che in effetti a volte mi è successo nel periodo in cui registravo i demo delle nuove canzoni nel salotto di casa, ma, fortunatamente, le mie paure non si sono manifestate.

Va detto che le cose si sono fatte parecchio caotiche a tratti, per esempio quando restavamo chiusi in studio per ore dimenticandoci di mangiare perché troppo concentrati su quello che stavamo facendo, o i momenti in cui non riuscivo a cantare nè a respirare perché stavo ridendo fino al punto di sentire dolore ai muscoli addominali. 

Ma al di là di questo, ci siamo presi cura di tutto nei minimi dettagli, ed è stato molto incoraggiante per me il lavorare con una persona cos�� entusiasta di occuparsi del mio materiale. Si è trattato sicuramente di un’esperienza bizzarra e intensa, e sono felice di aver collaborato con un produttore che ha compreso le mie idee e da cui ho potuto imparare cosí tanto in tema di produzione musicale ma anche su me stessa come musicista e songwriter.

HORRIBLE – Filth

Horrible est un défouloir qui crache à la face du monde ce que celui-ci lui inspire : dépravation, crasse et répulsion. Né en 2019 sous l'impulsion de Jonas Sanders (Pro-Pain) et d'Olivier Dris (Resistance), Horrible prend sa forme définitive en 2022 avec l'arrivée de Déhà (Dropdead Chaos, Silver Knife), Sven Leyemberg (Killthelogo) et Benoit Sizaire (Resistance).

Brutal et frontal sont sur le bateau Horrible, aucun tombe dans l’eau. Le combo déverse son alliage "straight to your face" d’hardcore, grind, death par-dessus bord et fait monter le niveau de l’amer violence à son incandescence.

Pour la faire courte, le disque est un découpeur de hippies à la tronçonneuse, les dérives négatives et régressives poussent au forceps leur misanthropie ravageuse, et vous essayerez de vous raccrocher à la dernière branche pour ne pas être emportée par cette brutalité musicale.

Le single « FILTH » " représente le point de départ du groupe. On y retrouve les styles prédominants qui forment l'entité Horrible : un metal moderne allant de nos racines hardcore au grind, alliant riffs classiques et éléments noisy, aux multiples tessitures vocales. Il est direct et brutal et représentatif de notre monde actuel : Horrible!" dixit le groupe
