does alice have dimples?? she does in my world bc she looks so cute with them! i initially was just going to draw one of them but i had this idea of them taking a picture to celebrate their first autumn together as a family (kara's taking the picture lol). i'm so happy i decided to go with drawing both of them bc it turned out so cute!!!!

i'm really happy with how the linework turned out. twas my first time drawing luther and alice so it took awhile to get the facial proportions for luther. i didn't really have energy to color it or cleanup the linework but might render it out in the future.

The other day I remembered about D:BH and I was thinking about the horrible homophobia there (and how bad and basic it is in general, and I say it as someone who waited years and years for the game).

Hetero romance is easy to get and it feels very forced to me. (Marcus/North. She becomes his lover way too easily and it's being forced on you every step of the way.

Kara/Luther, but I have a problem with Kara's storyline in general. Valorie also disliked that Kara has to be a mom for some reason and form a hetero family, not lead the resistance or have some cool role for example. Cooking, cleaning, taking care of a kid she thinks is human.)

Any kind of queer romance, especially gay romance? Doesn't exist. I mean, there's a Tracis romance, but it's brief, you don't get any choice in creating it, and m/m romance isn't a thing for some reason?

Marcus/Simon? I feel like I read somewhere, a long time ago, that they were supposed to be a couple, but for some reason they didn't and it's all Marcus/North. Like???

Connor/Hank still fucking gets me because it's so clear Hank doesn't see Connor as his kid. Clancy was asked if he sees Connor as Hank's kid and the answer was a, "No." And the best you can get is "Friend" with the implication of a good friend at the VERY end a hug. Which is a good hug, and it might be true to Hank's character because he's going through a lot of trauma and realization that androids aren't that bad, but then again, Marcus and North are there??? Pushed on you?

I don't know, man. The game is written by cis white males & it shows. Once I learned Alice is not a real human child, I kill her and Kara at the first opportunity 'cause it feels like a waste of my time (and I hate feel like I was cheated, so one time was enough. Plus, I hate her storyline. The potential was so cool & it was completely wasted).

A/N: hello everyone! this is my first post, i hope you all like it!!! this is part 1 of my D:BH LGBTQIA+ headcanon series. this was originally supposed to be posted during pride month but i unfortunately got distracted & wasn't able to write enough. i will probably take a while to finish this series due to personal issues so i apologize in advance.

The android revolution reached its way to Canada soon after it being successful in the United States. Other countries were in the process of granting android’s rights as well but Canada beat some of them to it, being the 2nd country in the world to recognise androids as people.

Even with it being mostly safe for her to, Kara didn’t want to move back to Detroit. It would only make her relive the traumatic memories.

After moving to Canada with Alice and Luther, she was finally able to relax a bit, enjoying life with her new family. She was very happy to finally be able to focus a bit more on herself instead of just trying to survive. She started thinking about her new life and how she wants to live it.

While she loves Luther and is very grateful for him, even owing him her and Alice's life, she just simply could never see herself having anything more than a platonic relationship with a man. She didn't think this really meant anything until she was watching TV and saw one of Marcus' interviews, this one being about a new support group center that also acted as a campaign for Android-Human relations and android LGBTQIA+ rights, for his next goal of making Android-Human and other types of android marriages legal in all North America and for humans to recognize that androids are capable of being diverse in their gender identities and sexual orientations, just like humans.

She waited quite a while to tell her family. She was on edge, wondering what Alice and Luther might think. But when she told them one night while they were getting ready for bed in their new apartment, Luther expressed his support, asking if it was ok if they could keep co-parenting. He didn’t want to make her uncomfortable since other parents will assume they’re in a relationship. She obviously said yes, since he is a great father figure for Alice and one of her only friends, other than Rose and her family.

Alice didn’t say much since she didn’t know what a lesbian was. She asked Luther later that night while he was tucking her in and he explained to her what being gay is. Kara wondered how Luther knew what being gay was in the first place and how he even was supportive since he was stuck with Zlatko before they met… She decided she’d ask him about that some other time.

After she did her nightly chores, she called Rose, telling her she wanted to tell her something important the next time she visits.

Luthara Headcanon:

Luther and Kara try to keep their feelings to themselves for a while? Specifically from Alice.

They just are terrified with putting to much on Alice, and worry that she might be upset about them being together. Neither of them want her to feel like their love for her has changed so they decide to wait till things are a little more calm to admit to Alice they love one another.

However, Alice IS an android and calls them on is so much quicker than they anticipate and to their surprise she is thrilled about it.

Kara had always loved Luther. It was only a matter of time before she realized it.

And once she realized it, she couldn't stop realizing it.

It felt a lot like deviating – like opening her eyes for the first time to see the world with perfect clarity, like a thick blanket of fog had cleared without warning, unveiling the path that lead to the rest of her life.

It started with the way he said her name. ‘Kara’, soft and warm and golden like liquid honey, and it wasn’t long before one thing led to another - as things often do - and Kara found herself lost in eyes like endless pools of rich mahogany.

He is so much more than the strong, loyal guardian the world sees him to be.

Luther is warmth, and tenderness, and devotion – he's the feeling of home, the comfort of belonging and acceptance. He’s her voice of reason, whispering calming reassurances when she gets anxious – a regular occurrence, just as inevitable as the frigid Canadian winters and especially unpredictable – and her rock, steadying her when life makes her feel shaky on her feet. He's the one who reads to Alice nearly every night before bed, who calmly collects (and safely relocates, because Luther doesn't believe in senseless violence) any spiders that find their way into the house (curiously enough, Kara is exceptionally afraid of them).

So when Luther got down on one knee, brandishing a ring and asking Kara to be his forever, she, undoubtedly, said yes.

They have their differences. Favorite movies, for example, their beliefs in RA9, or more importantly - whether or not dessert can eaten before dinner (Luther, of course, is team #dessertfirst).

It's morning when Kara pads down the hall of the home they own together, slipper-clad and wrapped in a soft pink bathrobe. She hears voices coming from her daughter’s bedroom, and peeks inside.

“Come, sleepy Dormouse, it's time to wake up.” Luther says softly, with a gentle nudge of Alice's shoulder.

“Daaad,” Alice whines, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. “How old do I have to be before you stop calling me that?”

“You could be a hundred years old and you'd still be my little mouse.”

He leans, shadowing Alice in substantial frame, and presses a gentle kiss against her forehead, strands of soft chestnut hair brushing his face.

Why is North so hated on and why is Kara (OR MCFREAKING LUTHER) so slept on while you guys idealize Gavin Reed or Rk900 when they got way less screentime + from what I played no interaction between each other or whatsoever ? Like I get why some people would love their characters but is it really reason enough to sleep on Luther just so you could extrapolate every little thing about these white men to make them fit your ideals so you make these amazing personas for Gavin or Rk900 when LUTHER IS RIGHT THERE AND HE’S ABSOLUTELY PERFECT AND DESERVES SO MUCH MORE ?

(honestly if you wanted the asshole turned good trope so much Luther is basically it except it’s canon, I’m kinda tired of people loving these white men and sleeping on the POC characters)
