Giovanni Boldini (Italian, 1842-1931) ~ Portrait of Mlle. De Gillespie, “La Dame de Biarritz”, 1912. (Oil on canvas) - - This portrait is one of only four important commissions for the artist during 1912. While Boldini had initially conceived the portrait of Madame de Gillespie as a full-length composition, the final format was employed in other works after 1900. The portrayal of the sitter glancing to one side recalls the celebrated portrait of Cléo de Mérode. This, combined with her beauty and the striking cyclamen hue of her loose dress provide the same impact as many of the more elaborate compositions. ~ NégyArt (Szingy Books)

Crafting Your Stunning Indoor Winter Wonderland: Tips for Success
Strategic Plant Selection for Winter Brilliance
Commence your winter garden venture with careful plant selection. Opt for varieties known for their resilience to indoor conditions and adaptability to winter challenges. Consider the striking Amaryllis, the elegant Peace Lily, or the colorful Cyclamen. These choices set the stage for an indoor garden that not only survives but thrives, bringing a burst of color and brilliance to your winter wonderland.
Maximizing Light Exposure for Flourishing Growth
Address the challenge of limited sunlight during winter by strategically positioning your plants near windows. Rotate them regularly to ensure each receives its fair share of sunlight. Complement natural light with well-chosen artificial grow lights, providing the necessary spectrum for robust growth and creating a stunning visual display of flourishing life in your winter wonderland.
Temperature and Humidity Harmony for a Cozy Paradise
Craft an environment conducive to growth by maintaining optimal temperature and humidity levels. Most indoor plants thrive in temperatures between 65-75°F (18-24°C) and humidity levels ranging from 40-60%. Utilize room humidifiers and temperature control measures to create a comfortable and nurturing setting for your indoor garden to flourish, turning your space into a cozy paradise within your stunning winter wonderland.
Elevating Aesthetics with Creative Containers
Transform the visual appeal of your winter garden by selecting creative containers. Experiment with various materials, shapes, and sizes to add an artistic touch to your space. Beyond aesthetics, prioritize containers with proper drainage to prevent water stagnation, fostering a healthy root system and overall lushness for your indoor haven within the stunning winter wonderland.
Thoughtful Watering Practices for a Flourishing Oasis
Master the art of watering to ensure the well-being of your indoor haven. Tailor your watering frequency to the specific needs of each plant, considering factors like humidity and sunlight exposure. Invest in a moisture meter for precision, preventing overwatering or underwatering. Watering in the morning allows excess moisture to evaporate, minimizing the risk of fungal issues and creating a sense of flourishing oasis in your stunning winter wonderland.
Designing a Winter Paradise of Visual Delight
Vertical Gardening for Space Elegance
Maximize the impact of your indoor haven by incorporating vertical gardening techniques. Utilize wall-mounted shelves, hanging planters, or trellises to create a multi-dimensional, visually striking space. This not only optimizes space but adds an element of elegance to your winter paradise, turning it into a stunning visual delight.
Herb Gardens for Sensory Bliss
Enhance the sensory experience of your indoor haven by introducing a herb garden. Fragrant herbs like lavender, rosemary, and thyme not only add delightful aromas to your space but also serve practical culinary purposes. This dual-purpose approach adds functionality and sensory bliss to your stunning winter wonderland, creating an aromatic and visually delightful paradise.
Flourishing Beauty Amidst Frost
With strategic planning, thoughtful plant choices, and creative design, your indoor haven can be a source of constant delight, transforming the winter season into a period of lush beauty and a stunning indoor winter wonderland. Craft your space into a sanctuary of warmth, a celebration of botanical elegance, and a testament to the flourishing beauty that can emerge from the frost.

The Beauty of Autumn: A Palette of Seasonal Plants
As summer's warmth begins to wane, nature paints a mesmerizing canvas with the arrival of autumn. Crisp air, falling leaves, and the earthy scent of damp soil bring a sense of calm and rejuvenation. In the world of gardening, it's time to embrace the enchanting palette of seasonal plants that thrive during this cozy and colorful time of year.
Tumblr media
Chrysanthemums (Mums): These vibrant, daisy-like blooms come in a variety of warm colors like red, yellow, and orange, making them the quintessential autumn flower. Plant them in your garden or display them in pots to add a pop of color to your outdoor space.
Pansies: Pansies are the perfect autumn companion, with their cheerful faces and shades of purple, gold, and deep red. They can withstand cooler temperatures and even a light frost, ensuring your garden stays lovely well into the season.
Asters: Asters are known for their star-shaped petals and are available in various shades of purple and blue. They attract butterflies and provide a delightful late-season nectar source for these beautiful insects.
Ornamental Grasses: The graceful sway of ornamental grasses in the autumn breeze adds a touch of elegance to your garden. Their golden hues and feathery plumes create a stunning contrast against the changing foliage.
Sedum: Also known as stonecrop, sedum plants offer clusters of small, star-like flowers in shades of pink, red, or white. Their succulent leaves make them exceptionally drought-resistant, perfect for low-maintenance gardening.
Tumblr media
Japanese Maples: With their exquisite foliage in shades of deep red, maroon, and orange, Japanese maples are a standout in any garden. Their fiery hues intensify as the temperatures drop, making them a breathtaking addition to your landscape.
Lavender: This aromatic herb not only adds a lovely scent to your garden but also continues to bloom into the autumn months. Lavender's silvery-green foliage and vibrant purple blossoms are a visual and olfactory delight.
Hardy Mums: As their name suggests, hardy mums are built to withstand colder temperatures. Their cheerful blooms and array of autumn colors make them a go-to choice for fall gardening.
Cyclamen: These dainty, heart-shaped flowers are perfect for adding a touch of elegance to your pots and borders. Cyclamen come in shades of pink, red, and white and thrive in the cooler, shadier spots of your garden.
Heuchera (Coral Bells): The vivid foliage of Heuchera comes in a range of autumnal hues, from deep red to copper and bronze. These perennials not only provide color but also attract hummingbirds with their delicate blooms.
Autumn is a time of transition, and these seasonal plants can help you embrace the changing landscape with grace and beauty. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just beginning, the vibrant colors and hardy nature of these autumn plants will inspire you to savor every moment of this enchanting season.

This is a canvas that i've painted a tree on 3 times. A whole repaint what was on it before to see my improvement. This is definitely the most drastic change. The first two was a tree centered in the canvas w leaves surrounded by green grass. I wish i'd taken pics of them 😭. Oh well
Painted this when me and my cousin went paint crazy at my house. Converted the table into a lil paint studio ❤️
(the pictures say it was painted in august, but I swear I thought I painted this the apr/mar of 2020)

Metallic canvas — edges and lines, angles and planes, all intertwined, entwined
it's a run-on, no such things as punctuation, they all merge, submerge, diverge, grow into each other, splayed and sewn, limb to seam, to endless
beams, strobe, flashing, giant ventilators kiss me asleep, spinning —
they spin, loop through the within, transcend, weld and burn with tongues of steel, fashion love out of stone, trail the eye
and kneel,
oh you sinner, how do you plead?
Asphyxiating through the permeating of decadence, a bed of cyclamens,
hypnotized.
