Found: Three Skwak Pads
I'm not sure who these funky-shaped computers/communicators belong to. Two of them appear to be the same as each other, save for a color difference on the shell. One of them is apparently Xtreme, whatever that means. None of them appear to be functional, but maybe their creator can get them running again, if their creator can be found.

top five very specific game consoles
rubs my hands together like an evil fly. these are in no specific order i love them all equally. Below the cut because its long
vectrex console set (released november 1982) vector display based console with a built in CRT TV. early models were said to be very obnoxiously loud due to poor tube grounding. only had 28 games made for it. was killed decisively by the crash of 83 and later the advent of the gameboy.
2. super a'can (released october 1995) released only in taiwan and china and only has 12 games confirmed to have been released for it. based off of the motorola 9000 chip used for the sega genesis. the company that made it (funtech) lost over 6 million dollars because this was released around the same time as the playstation and n64. funtech had all development and production materials destroyed and the remaining consoles were sold for scrap parts.
3. terebikko / see n say videophone (1988 JP, 1989 US)
well obviously its shaped like a phone. how it was SUPPOSED to work was that you connect it to your TV's audio jack and throughout the interactive video you would receive "phone calls" from characters onscreen who would react differently and steer the game in different directions based on if you gave good or bad answers. fairly advanced for the time! only 25 games were ever released for it though
4. watara supervision (released 1992)
look at this freak. it sucks. BUT it had tilt controls which is more than could be said for the gameboy. could only play monochrome games from ROM and was a commercial failure due to having barely any games.
5. cybiko (released 2000)
a combination PDA and handheld console. could play games from PC download and had 430 games released (all of them free). the cybiko xtreme (a less colorful revision that failed to address several problems with the original) released and then 9/11 happened.
HONORABLE MENTION: vtech creativision (1982)
this thing is called Dick Smith Wizzard in australia and new zealand.

Two way radio text messaging?
HECK NO.
You could have a LOT of people in those chat rooms though the most I ever actually experienced at the time was maybe four.
Wow wee, the stories I could tell about this thing.
It was my first ever portable word processor and revolutionized my ability to function at my desk like a normal student, even if the keys were entirely too tiny even for a kid’s hands, which they solved with the bigger keys on the 2001 Cybiko Xtreme model.
The games were so odd, cause sometimes they were pushing polygons, but for the most part they made the original model GameBoy look like PlayStation 5.
The sound was horrible though, it had the dinkiest little speaker, and it made the GameBoy seem like Dolby surround sound.
The Cybiko (2000) featured its own two-way radio text messaging system, over 430 "official" freeware games and applications, and an MP3 player add-on with a SmartMedia card slot.

Considering the batteries were in the compartment for over 21 years, there doesn't appear to be any corrosion on the contacts! I decided to remove the batteries to prevent any further further potential damage to the components, but won't be properly cleaning out the battery compartment and the rest of the #Cybiko Classic till I film the video! The other Cybiko and the boxes, and old and new batteries will show up in the video too, but I need space to film, so watch this space for further updates! I eventually want to get a pair of Cybiko Xtremes with the MP3 Player addon, buy it's a matter of finding them! #stormkeepergu #stormsworkshop #retrorepair #cybikoclassic #retrohandheld #retrocomputer #retrocomputing #batterypowered #batteryreplacement (at London, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/CK_ILdkn2yf/?igshid=ynykfb00jgrn

Amazing article.
It kind of skips over the fact that in the mid-late 90′s, “PDA” form factor pocket computers existed on the market alongside the clamshell ones that had a form factor akin to the later model Sharp Wizards they covered.
They tended to be higher end, and you had to order them through dorky computer catalogs to my recollection, you didn’t just casually see them around.
Of course I wanted the heck out of one to be able to write with and fantasized of using one for schoolwork, but my parent’s budget and my own IEP didn’t allow for that until 2002 when I finally got an iBook.
Actually I take that back, I did in fact use a Cybiko in the latter half of 2002 for schoolwork, but it was just such a brief period i forgot all about it.
Seriously someone Please make a decent modern handheld computer with the Cybiko Xtreme form factor, I was praying the PocketChip would be that, but the keyboard on that thing is born of satan for anyone wanting to do serious typing on it.
