its so odd to hear discourse about how cracker is/isnot a slur

im australian and like. no one. NO ONE. here thinks cracker is a slur. it reminds me when i was like 11 oir 10and my white. (veyr white.) friend saw me write youtube as yt and was like thats acutally so offensive its a slur against white people. this was before i was into any like. fucking mcyt shit or really into a lot of fandom. so i didnt know why anything would be a slur and had no exposuyre to like. that. but they were like 14 and they were into mcyt at the time

i guess for me, it seems odd to feel like something is a slur when its said against you even in a derogatory sense by a group which you are above them systemically. i guess it kind of works as a slur in terms of class maybe??? ive heard people say that so mauybe thats what matters????

people have said and done things on all of those bases except for the white one. i have lost and lost on a racial level on all of those bases except for the white one. and here no one calls white people crackers.

it really does remind me of when people call "straight" a slur, because they dont like it that sometimes, queer people get to mock them using it.

Did y'all know that Elon Musk's Twitter recently added LGBTQ terms (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Transgender, Queer) to it's "offensive words" list - meaning that links to tweets with words containing them aren't previewed in twitter DMs and are generally de-boosted (shown to less people) by the website? Did you also know there exists a character called the zero-width non joiner that you can copy and paste in-between letters of any keyword so that the keyword visually looks the same but isn't automatically seen by the algorithm as containing a keyword?

we (transfems) deserve to have spaces online where we can feel safe and where we can thrive.

there's been plenty of discourse recently alleging that we are trying to separate ourselves from the rest of the community by talking abt transmisogyny. but, we're not trying to separate, we are being separated. we are being pushed out of public spaces, and even the spaces where other queer folks are allowed to exist without fear.

and this has an effect on our ability to advocate for ourselves and share our perspectives. it also suppresses our art and the records of our lives, our existence. i'm an artist and aspiring entertainer. I would like to be able to bring a larger audience to my work, i want my work to be able to find folks who can connect with it. how can i do that effectively if so many social media sites are not safe for me? what happens if i get banned, and my profile scrubbed of all content?

i already have a decent following on here, and i feel like the bigger i get on here, the more likely i am to be stripped of everything i have on this site by displeasing the wrong people. my presence online should not be contingent on being a good little tranny with no controversial opinions, who is quiet about my weird kinks. we shouldn't have to be pallettable sterile objects for your consumption just to exist in public spaces, online and offline.
