Alright, then you want me to play into your little rage bait game. Ok. Let’s play this game then.

First, I want to correct some of the things you mentioned. The threatening, black mail suicide thing. Idk if you have ever experienced someone w/suicidal thoughts or is such in a bad, dark mental space that they are contemplating leaving this earth, but I hope you never do because it is one of the most sick to your stomach, heart shattering things. I have had thoughts like this since I was 13 and it fucking sucks. But I have grown to like some parts of living enough for me to stay and Colson may have felt the same way. One of these happy parts for him, could have been Megan, you know the woman he loves and had come to him as some sort of savior and healer in his life. But yeah, let’s act and pretend that he was doing some American psycho, Ted bundy level manipulation. Ok. that makes sense at least in your story.

For further context, his father that he had a strained relationship had just passed and he had not at this moment reconnected with his mother. So, he was alone, lost, no parents for him to lean on and heavily intoxicated. So, one would say that he called the first person he knew/thought of that could help him or ground him back to earth. Would you prefer he called his young daughter or rather a grown woman who is used to as per said in her Poem book that seems capable/or at the very least more tolerant to men with these issues.

Next, the N word. If you are referring to that one old, 12/14 years ago grainy, bad sound clip where it possibly sounded like the word, I have to ask what does that have to do with anything, really. Cuz I also remember the interviewer that was standing right there had come out and said that he did not say it. Regardless if he did, he has said in 2020 that if anyone is racist and a supporter of his to fuck off and burn his music, cuz he does not fucking care for them. But ok.

Oh and the minor shit. Yes, was that stupid and completely inappropriate that he had said those things when he was 19/20? Yes it was. He is an idiot for that. But he has come out and said that he is ashamed and embarrassed of the things he said in the past.

So, don’t try to use this as a gotcha moment for me or his fans. We know he has done stupid shit that I am sure he deeply regrets. And as far as I am aware, his REAL fans call him out on that shit or any other stupid things he does. What confuses me is that Megan fans/supporters refuse to do the same.

Let me use my brain for a minute. Megan fox, a woman who shames other women, feels threatened by other women, sexualizes bisexuality (a sexuality that already faces a lot prejudice in the queer community, some holding the belief it is not real at all, it is either straight people pretending, or they are just gay) for her own benefit, uses Japanese/Ukrainian woman as a silly little joke. Megan fox who did not talk about roe v wade until everyone else did it to fit in, who says world problems do not concern her unless they directly affect her, who did not wear a mask until she was hacked and then the very next pap photo was rocking one. Which is weird cuz she has three young boys who could have gotten sick, an ex-husband who had severe health issues and getting covid from her and her constant, unnecessary travels could have killed him or his new pregnant gf, Sharna could have also gotten it. A woman who profits and benefits solely on her beauty while there are other actors/actresses that actually have to showcase and prove their talent/worth to get a role. Shit, a woman, a mother who refers to her son as a kamikaze (suicide pilot) or knowing that Casie (Colson daughter) was going to be on tour with Colson (her father who is a hated man) and what did Megan do? Oh, just post backstage passes that held sensitive information where some lunatic that was crazy enough could have copied and snuck backstage when she was specifically told not to or to wait until the info was covered up to post. But no Megan had to show us her breast implants, so fuck it, right?

One last thing, He is a bad, racist, PDF, sad excuse, manipulator and abusive person to Megan. Then tell her to leave. Right now. Text her, go in her comments or something and tell her to leave him. He’s a monster, Right? Go, Save her, Save Jennifer. Get off my blog and go help her.

Kim Possible x Ron Stoppable ship analysis!

I'll go through the episodes I know have something shipping related and analyse the moments and try to think what the characters are thinking!

Edited the final movie stuff btw! It's better now! Also now with pictures and GIFs!

S1 EP1: Crush

Ron doesn't really like Mankey (says his name mockingly) or the idea that Kim likes him. He later mentions this in So the Drama ("I was never in favor of that but I was there for Kim.")

I like how they're comfortable enough to talk about their crushes. In the past, sure, but now as well!

"We always go together." (To dances? What other "school functions" are there?) I kinda really wish we could've seen one of those. Like it was obvious to Ron that they would still go together! Idk how American schools work and how many dances they'd have been to at this point, but they really must be comfortable with each other to go to dances together like that. Just two pals having fun!

Neither is jealous of the other planning to take a date to the dance. A bit awkward and taken aback, sure, but both seem to be fine with it. I'd say neither is crushing at this point, but as mentioned earlier, Ron isn't fully on board with the Mankey thing even if he helps Kim with it.

Ron might ask all the other girls to the dance cuz he feels a bit left out? Not jealous left out, but a bit lost cuz it's a new situation?

"Contrary to popular belief, I am not dating Kim Possible." Proof that at this point they are aware of the idea of them being together, even if they aren't for or into it. Not a new concept, but not one they'd consider. Ron also tries to help Kim with Josh with this, clearly caring more about their friendship than whatever he thinks of Mankey.

Ron really encourages her to ask Mankey to the dance. "You can handle this!" Sweet guy.

S1 EP8: Mind Games

Small thing but Ron says that Kim is pretty <3 ("smart, athletic, pretty and popular")

Ron (as Kim) has a soff face when they practice cheerleading and are back to back <3 Looks at her, smiles and closes his eyes and leans against her <33 No idea why though. Kim has a similar expression but she just enjoys doing the routine, she smiles the whole time. Could be platonic "I like to be close to her", could be him subconsciously appreciating the closeness in a different way? No major "crushage" though.

S2 EP2: Grudge Match

Kim's had a crush on someone and now Ron has a crush. I don't think they have feelings for each other at this point since both are pursuing other people.

More open talking about feelings. Both are so supportive.

Ron's very aware that people might think they're a couple doing couple things (doesn't want Zita to see them coming out of the movie theater)

Kim's all "yeah, so?" and "you.. and me.. on a.. date?" which imo means that she doesn't think of them dating as a thing that's likely to happen.

Ron, on the other hand, goes "it could happen!" which tells me that he's more open to the idea and has maybe considered it before. Not enough to act on it but is aware and not as much against it as Kim. Still very much thinks of Kim as a friend more than anything else since he's into Zita rn.

Kim goes "I'm gonna say something that I've never said to you before", and Ron seems unnecessarily shocked or interested? To me it seems like he might have expected her to confess or smth like that based on the convo topic, idk.

S2 EP11: Exchange

Ron is clearly interested in Yori. Stares and swoons and stuff. Wiggles his eyebrows like an idiot lol. Super happy about her kissing his cheek. ("Yeah I love this place!!") Pointing this out since he seems different when they meet later in S3.

S2 EP13: A Very Possible Christmas

First of all I love how much time Ron spends with the Possible family! He joins their Christmas party <3 Seems like it's not his first time joining, either.

Also Kim, really, a cyber scrapbook of their memories together?? That's adorable. I'd cry too. Platonic but super cute.

Two hugs in this ep. Platonic but super cute.

They're really sweet to each other. Ron wanting to give the best gift to Kim and Kim looking all over the world for Ron.

Lol, does Drakken ship it? He puts them under the mistletoe. Ron found it though... Who put it up? Drakken does put the ribbon thingy on it so maybe he did.

They aren't that awkward about it, but Ron does laugh it off and Kim does give him a quick peck on the cheek. He says a positively surprised "oh" and touches his cheek with an awkward smile. He's a bit taken aback but doesn't seem to think about it too much, and neither does Kim. It's platonic to her it seems?

Ron's more confused than when Yori kissed him, since the girls are different to him? He doesn't celebrate like he did with Yori. Intriguing... "Yeah!!" vs "Oh!"... I think his reaction to Kim's peck is more genuine? Less "mr popular ladies man"?

"Season's greetings from the Possibles"? I see you there Ron lol. He's part of the fam.

S2 EP19: Blush

Again, Ron's not super into the Mankey business. ("Mankey-monkey conspiracy")

Ron says he "Finds the whole 'dating thing' overrated. Who would subject themselves to that?" Is that jealous talk or has he not had great experiences with it before? The Zita thing did crash and burn pretty fast at least. Maybe he also thinks of how Kim turns into a mess around guys? Degrading? Embarrassing?

"So he takes you to dinner, you two see a movie, big tap-dancing whoop! We do that stuff together all the time!" I see you there Ron. He compares their time together to dating...... More to mock the concept of dating than saying that they're like a couple? Does sound a bit jealous though..

He's much more negative towards him than in S1 EP1. Intriguing... The romantic-platonic levels might be changing there..

Kim's call log is mostly Ron. That's sweet. Probably platonic but sweet.

He gives her an awkward thumbs up when he saves her and lets her enjoy the rest of her date. That is an uncomfortable face though, Ron... I'm definitely moving him into the romantic category at this point. He likes her, but doesn't know it?

Kim's still platonic and very into Josh. Maybe.

Sitch In Time:

Could be (and really should I think) read as best friends being separated, but since I already put Ron in the romantic category, it hurts just a little bit more. Still tough to lose a best friend though, so no major "crushage" yet imo.

Ron wants younger teen him to grow to be a "babe magnet" but that's just his typical "mr wanna be popular" speaking. He does dumb stuff like that later as well. Also none of that happened? Time travel stuff?

Oh yeah now we're getting to the good stuff

S3 EP1: Steal Wheels

"Official Ron night". Cute.

Platonic but Kim's jealous of Ron spending more time with Felix.

I understand the whole "he's my best friend!" stuff but also shows how possessive she is of him?

S3 EP2: Emotion Sickness

Ron wants to protect Kim from seeing Mankey with Tara. Sweet dude.

Kim's over Mankey. "Grew apart. Time to move on."

Ron's bummed out about not realizing that Tara used to like him. Doesn't wallow in it though, which seems to me like he never had that much interest in her.

Ron's super awkward when Kim goes all flirty, and I'd say it's because she's not acting like herself. Been odd all day. Says that she's freaking him out. Weird enough for him to run away from her.

Monique asks if Kim liking him is not good and Ron goes "I don't know, it's not that I haven't thought about this.. I mean who hasn't..." Which really tells us that he has considered it before. It's not a new thought to him.

The 'who hasn't' part though? Who hasn't shipped them or who hasn't thought of Kim liking them? I'd say it's the first. People do often think they're a couple so it's once again understandable that he's considered it as well.

Ok, the kiss. He's surprised, but definitely into it. Fully kissing back and embracing her, even though she's "just a friend" to him and obviously acting weird. It's not gross since he doesn't pull back. He's not against it, even if it's a "in the heat of the moment" kinda thing.

If it was Yori or Zita? Would probably somewhat kiss back too. I think he'd have a different expression though. Less content, more confused and awkward idiot playboy? Would let them do "most of the work" and not fully embrace like that? He just wasn't as comfortable with them.

If he didn't already like the kisser? If it was a pretty girl he might have just stood there all confused but let himself be kissed (see Bonnie in S4).

Idiotic grin afterwards? "Whatever you say"? Would probably have a similar reaction to Zita or Yori kissing him, but I still say there would be more awkwardness and celebrating aka babe magnet stuff. Also important to note, he liked those two. Kim is getting a similar - if not better - reaction.

He seriously considers dating Kim.

"What's not to like about Kim? I mean she's smart, cute... Dating could be good, you know, the date thing."

Still, he's super worried about what it could do to their friendship. I read this as him not being ready for it or feeling like it isn't natural - which, of course, it isn't. Being friends is more important than this unnatural thing that's going on, even if he does get kisses out of it.

"We're a great team, but dating could complicate things." Understandable to be afraid of change (he is bad with that), but I think it's mostly how unnatural and sudden it is.

Would probably swoon over any pretty girl talking to him like that, but there is a hint of "I knew Kim was pretty but wow." in there imo. Definitely not a platonic reaction there my guy. Uncomfortable but into it.

"So I guess the crush and everything was all moodulator, huh?" he says while looking sad and disappointed. Guess he did want it to be real after all?

Kim's "Not everything. There's still fireworks." though? Confusing. Is that her straight out admitting that she thinks there's something there? She does say a few eps later when Ron's bummed out about not getting that Yori liked her that "you got me", so maybe she just likes to stay stuff like this?

Also Ron is so happy about her words with his "You think so?" and is a bit disappointed/confused? again when Kim points at the sky.

My headcanon is that Kim's really starting to get feelings and realize there might be something there after this episode.

S3 EP4: Bad Boy

First things first, cozy movie night. Friends do that too, but I've been there. More special if there's feelings there. Which both have at this point.

Ron hasn't managed to get a date with him before (to a wedding) and goes "Unless.." and looks at Kim. Immediately awkward, tugs at shirt, looks away. He considered her a date-date for a bit there.

"Not that I'm asking you." That wouldn't be as awkward if there were no feelings there. Friend date. Both are thinking of a date-date. Which is awkward to think about cuz they're still just friends.

First time Kim seems to actually react like Ron does. Awkward and in denial. Both label it as awk-weird. See above.

Ron is intrigued about Kim liking bad boys. Both that and girls liking bad boys in general cause more babe magnet shenanigans. Definitely tryna attract other girls though.

"Thanks for being my date- uh, friend", he says. They do go together, and everything's fine. A bit funny of Kim to make sure he doesn't think of it as a date-date though. Maybe she just hasn't accepted her feelings yet? Ron's happy to call it a date though.

S3 EP9: Overdue

Shego asks Ron where Kim is, and he goes "She's not my girlfriend!" very suspiciously. Leaves me a bit confused though. At least shows that he's been thinking about the possibility? Linking the gf term to her as well. Such denial can only mean he'd prefer the opposite.

"Ooooh... Awkward...." with a laugh too. That's very suspicious my guy.

S3 EP12: Gorilla Fist

Happy to see Yori ofc, but clearly lacks the "OH YEAH YORI HI" factor. A lot chiller. Over her, into Kim.

Kim's very jealous. If it wasn't obvious before, it is now. She's interested.

I feel like Ron's trying not to make Kim get the wrong idea about Yori when they first meet. "She's not my secret girlfriend!!" type of talk imo.

"I knew he crushed on someone when he was there!" Very platonic of you Kim. Makes one think.. Has she had some feelings for him all this time? There's the "It took 12 stinking years for you to kiss me!" in S4 so it's not impossible. Small, 'not wanting to accept them' kinda feelings she's tryna cover up with other guys? Who knows.

More great denial. Aka the opposite of what she's saying. Very jeal.

Ron's super smug about Kim "freaking over about his friend Yori". Happy about Kim being jealous huh? Dude's so in love already. Cute.

Ron's not super phased about being caught by Yori. Business like usual, nothing special there. No swooning.

Kim asks about their relationship, obviously curious and jealous. More ok with her now though. Shocked about the kiss though.

Ron has a calmer reaction to Yori's cheek kiss than before. Eyes widen and he smiles, laughs in a flattered way? Still different from S2. Immediately tries to explain to Kim what just happened lol.

He's only a bit disappointed when Kim tells him Yori actually liked him.

"Why can't girls be more obvious? - - How am I supposed to know what's going on?" "Well, you got me." Very sus of you Kim. Even says it a bit shyly I think? Indirect confession? Not that indirect though. Ron still misses it.

And finally, some notes from So the Drama:

Cute how Ron grabs onto Kim when they're falling. He know she protecc.

"Captain of the chess team. Or worse." She makes a scared face? An 'oh no' type expression? It's really emphasising how, at least in the context, Ron is anything but boyfriend material to her. I know Bonnie's talk is affecting her, but she really shows no trace about having feelings for him in S3, which she absolutely did have btw!

"Is there anything sadder than going to the prom with your 'just a friend'?" A bit confusing, Kim. Does she want someone else, or does she want to actually go with Ron? As more than friends? Or does she think she's unlovable and a failure n stuff if she doesn't bring a romantic partner? That's more likely, but one can dream.

"I mean, a "date" date would be nice, but a stinking 'bf'..." Another confusing Kim line. She was looking at Ron before speaking. I'm reading it as 'a real date with someone (else? Not actually sure if she's excluding him with that) would be nice, but I wish there was at least a guy', which is pretty much how the Finnish dub put it. It clears this up a little. The tone of the conversation is that she'd like a "proper" boyfriend who's not like Ron and fits better into the food chain etc so this makes sense I think. Kim's so difficult.

"I'm gonna end up with Ron!" "Mom, he's not a guy, he's Ron!" He's "obviously" not boyfriend material! I love denial and whatever but she really doesn't seem to want to accept the idea. Bonnie is affecting her yadda yadda but still! Stuff like this is why I think everything after the confession happens a bit too quickly. She acts like he's the worst case scenario which is a bit odd for someone who kisses him not that much later, right? Is she covering up her existing feelings out of fear she'll be mocked? Has she just not come to terms with her feelings yet? I can't accept her coming to like him only after and because of his confession, that would be too shallow of her, and odd since she was this against it earlier. She's not that desperate for attention. There was definitely something there before, but she's just not willing to see it until he confesses?

Hooked up? "Eww. Kim and me? No, no, no. Best friend since forever but not like that." The denial sounds genuine, I guess he just hasn't realized or accepted his feelings at this point. But then he's immediately uncomfortable by Eric's "extreme steam" comment. "Let's not talk about her that way ever again." To me that sounds protective. He does not appreciate others talking that way about her. Hint of jealousy? Doesn't wanna think about her like that himself? Confusing.

Immediately jealous and uncomfortable with Eric's advances and Kim's obviously positive reaction to him - he knows how Kim acts when she gets a crush. Cue sad montage. It's kinda funny how he still hangs out with them on their dates btw. Doesn't wanna give her up? Friends don't join their friends on dates though. Did Kim's parents make him be their chaperone? Could see James doing that.

More and more jealous as time passes. He angy. Dramatic "cooties in the area"! Understandable. They're barely noticing him anymore.

I always thought he took the pepperoni off the pizza cuz Kim and Eric had a silly moment related to it. He seems like the kind of guy who would like pepperoni otherwise.

Probably feels betrayed as well. Kim was so quick to say bye to him. Barely even looked at him. He could see it as 'Bye bye, this person is more important to me now.'

Still a good friend though and immediately goes to help her find her dad when asked. Manages to act normal as well. (I'm kinda mad about how useless he's in the action scenes btw.)

Ron's monologue about his feelings is the best scene in this movie. I love that stuff. He goes pretty far back as well with the locked braces thing, which is part of the 'she's been with other guys before which I wasn't in favor of but I was there for her' talk. I wonder what he thought of it all back then. He was a really supportive friend at least, helped even if the situation was uncomfortable or odd.

"Something's different now. There's something between us... Who am I kidding? That's not different. Something's been there a long time. I think there's something there. Does she?" Peak. (I've quoted that so many times here, it's so good.) Also now I kinda have proof of this, having gone through a lot of the series just for this post. For how long though...?

He's finally willing to look at his feelings properly and puts everything into perspective. Comparing this to the 'Emotion Sickness' monologues? He's less afraid of change. He's feeling different enough to want to actually go for it this time. The situation is more dire, but more real.

"There's something there". Does he figure out that Kim's been showing signs of feeling the same? The "Does she?" is probably him wondering if she's realized it too. The "something" could be anything from S3's awkwardness to smaller changes in their dynamic from S1 and before. Suddenly not going to dances together and having to think about this stuff more.

He's actually saying that he wants to date her. "Kim's worth [telling her about my feelings even if it's humiliating]!" "What if I start yapping about my feelings and she chooses Eric and not me?" Just the 'realizing his feelings' talk is great, but he actually wishes she would choose him as her boyfriend. Proper acceptance of feels right there. No denial whatsoever. He will hide it for Kim's sake, but he wants to date her. (I love this soff dude!!)

Dude's skilled for being able to act like he didn't just realize and accept a lot of scary and life changing feelings. Chooses friendship over any jealous and possessive behavior, even if it is a bit tough at times. Gets a bit smug when they do decide to go save the world though.

Tiny cute detail: when on the scooter together and Ron drives, Kim holds his shoulders, but when Kim drives, Ron has his arms around her/hands on her hips.

Confession scene. (Peak Ron for getting Kim out of her "pity fiesta" btw.) He's simply saying that a guy, a real guy that's good for her, exists, and that he's here, about to say 'someone like me'. A bit of a roundabout way to say it but it gets the point across. Mostly saying it to make her understand that she's not unlovable? There's a hint of 'guess this is a good opportunity to shoot my shot', too, but in a selfless way, not asking her to like him back. Just wants her to know so she can get her groove back. He thinks they could work. (Includes himself in "guys that are better for you than Eric")

Kim's reaction confuses me a bit once again. "Oh. Really?" She's happy about it, sounding hopeful too? 'Didn't think he actually liked me' surprised? 'I'm not unlovable' surprised? Both? 'It wasn't unrequited after all and I shouldn't have been afraid'? Why she so difficulttt

Kim's oddly flirty when hurrying to the prom, but the prom scene itself is adorable. Them being awkward about the change. Some distance inbetween that Rufus gets rid of lol. Stuff's different but they're still themselves.

Soff kiss with the soffest gazes I've ever seen. A bit quick to get there, but adorable. The point of a proper kiss is that both are in on it, and here they are. Better than the 'Emotion Sickness' kiss, but Ron's even more comfortable and less lovestruck with it. He knows it's real this time and that he's ready for it now. Kim's also finally getting over the food chain talk and really accepts her feelings for him. Feeling like 'This is still a bit odd, but it's him, and it's alright. I trust him more than anyone else. He's safe, and this feels right." or smth?

Is it finally done? This took... Almost 7 hours. It's 3am right now, so it might've started to get messy halfway lol. I hope someone out there gets something out of all this hard work.

Extra few hours (like 5, one edit didn't go through...) from editing after waking up. The movie stuff makes more sense now!

Ok this is the last time I would be sending in an ask about this.

I feel like YOU are making my head hurt because you keep missing my point or maybe I am the one not explaining myself properly. I mentioned in my first ask that I didn’t expect Jk to say or do anything publicly about Taennie because it is understandable that he can’t but my point is that why hasn’t he said or done anything about it in general, not in public but even in private in a bid to for Hybe to not make Tae do the whole Taennie thing? I am also not downplaying closeting even though I feel like it is funny how you pick and choose when and how they are closeting because if I were to ask you how someone in the closet and about to get into the military could post private vacation pics of himself and his supposed boyfriend whom he is in the closet with, with that caption, I’m sure you would have a good Taekook explanation for me where suddenly we both would be expected to forget that these are two people supposedly in a closet.

You also say you don’t know what I expect coming to you expecting you not to give Taekook answers but do you make your answers fit the idea of what you believe Taekook are or do you try to look at things objectively regardless of whether they fit your beliefs in Taekook cuz it seems to me like sometimes you are inclined to making things or answers fit what you believe Taekook are and not letting yourself believe in Taekook because the answers naturally fit Taekook.

I understand that the artists don’t have complete freedom, I get that there are certain things they don’t or can’t talk about but not talking about something and not doing anything about it are two different things. If you were in Jk’s shoes would you let Tae go through all of that? Yes Jk has been linked to women too but did the company ever make him do media play with women? He was mostly seriously linked to women he was actually seen with and no one claimed it was the company forcing him to backhug these women for media play so how is that even the same thing? You think I am saying that Jk was expected to come out guns blazing screaming at Hybe to not do that to Tae but that’s not what I am saying. What I am saying is if Tae was really forced into media play and hated it as much as you say he does I believe that Jk whom according to you loves and cares for taehyung so much would not have let that happen continuously knowing how much damage it does to Tae according to you because if he sits there watching him bear all the cross then what kind of person does that make him? Why didn’t he volunteer to be the one to do the media play? Why Tae? You said jk too is going through a lot because he is in the closet but isn’t Tae going through a lot being in the closet with him too? Then untop of that he had to do media play too and receive all the hate while Jk sat watching?

Maybe it makes sense to you but I know that no matter what, I would never sit back and watch someone I love go through stuff like that because of a relationship we are both in. I think it’s really simple. You assume Jk has power to do something, and I don’t think he has. You don’t know what Jk has done or said to Hybe. You don’t know what conversations Jk and Tae have had about this. It’s even possible Tae didn’t even want Jk to say something. I think Hybe was gonna push this through no matter what and Jk probably knows he is powerless in this. Closeting isn’t a pretty thing, it’s not to be romanticized with grand gestures. When you’re powerless you just deal with it however you can. How Jk and Tae deal with their closet and the ways they are forced because of it is their business. It’s honestly not up to anyone to lay judgement about their characters because of that.

You cannot compare what you would do in their situation with what they do. Literally no one has had to make the exact choices they have. We don’t even have the same mindset as they have about receiving hate probably. You seem to think I believe this totally destroyed Tae, I don’t. Yes, I think he hated it, but he did not let it destroy him. He had some terrible moments probably, but we could also see him be happy often enough. The way Tae and Jk behaved during all of this depended on how both of them felt throughout it. I think they’re a team and I think they probably decided together how they would deal with this.

I don’t think there was a choice to make about Jk doing the mediaplay. I think it was about Tae specifically and it wasn’t about making a cover for Tae and Jk, though that was a desired side effect ofcourse.

Hello! Omg this is my first ask to u!

I was just curious about something. As far as I've heard, there were some ancient Greeks who believed Dionysus and Herakles were from India? I'm not sure if that's completely true, especially about Dio cuz the Dionysiaca says otherwise.

So I just wanted to have some proper info about that one particular belief, where Alexander considered Nagara (Dionysopolis) as the resting (and something birth) place for Dio. And also maybe some info regarding the Herakles myth (which I'm assuming here happened during the Indo-Greek kingdom era, when he was syncretized with Buddha but again, im not sure).

There are definitely many different legends and myths in regards to the regions Dionysus comes from or potentially born into, for example one is that he comes from the land of the Hyperboreans, which is up to the north. It is linked to the myths of sequence between Dionysus and Apollo as they change places upon the sanctuary of Delphi with the turn of seasons.

One of course need to take into account why Greeks have their myths in the first place and connect them to specific areas. It was not as much to indicate a god's origins or the origins of his worship but rather to show that they had the right to be in an area. "If Dionysus was born here that means we Greeks were there in the first place so we have the right to be here now" or "If Zeus passed from this place then that means this place involved Greeks originally" etc. Alexander was born and raised into this culture so when he was founding or conquering cities he also seems to be taking advantage of that and establish the myths that allegedly connect the Greeks to that area. This same method was used by Alexander the Great most likely. The political and religious implications are always there.

I would expect that yes when it comes to Heracles in India it has its roots to the Greco-Buddhism, the movement that started after the war of Alexander the Great and later on by the Seleucus kingdom and all and the exchanges of culture lead to exchanges of religion and ideas and all as well. According to Appian we also hear on wars that the Seleucid king did with the Indian one. And many other moments such as this indicate this shift to the area of modern day Afganistan if I am not mistaken and the circle around them close to India. For Heracles I discover a mention that Heracles was adopted to represent Vajrapāni and was assigned as a protector of Buddha. I did find a reference of the patronage of Heracles as a god for the Kushana Empire era but unfortunately I do not have much experience on Indian history to know many details. There seem to be wrestling matches to honor Heracles to the area and also honoring the more spiritual aspects of his worship especially influenced by Hinduism or Buddhism. There are references in sculpture as well such as Gandharan sculpture that depicts Heracles by the side of Buddha where he acts as his protector. You can also see tumblr creators such as @jacobpking who depicted Heracles with Buddha:

Depictions of Heracles appear also in Tajikistan again in similar influences. I believe as you said very well it is connected to this mixture of traditions after Alexander the Great and his descendants to the area and the osmosis of culture.

That is just the scrapping of the surface that I could think of but I would be glad to ellaborate further if I can to future reblogs or discussions. Sorry I am not THAT much familiar to the history of India in general so I shall need some time to get familiar with it.

Shaz i Just realized something today. Pple really need to start taking you more seriously when u say certain things. I remember months ago, you mentioned a few times that you know Jk would very much like to go Live with Jimin but maybe Jimin is the one who doesn’t want to. I remember saying to myself “nah Shaz is probably talking outta her ass and being very taekookerish rn” lol. But u were vindicated cuz we came to find out that Jk does indeed want to do a live with Jimin but Jimin is playing hard to get. I also remember you talking about how Jk hates the vermin but I personally had not seen any reason to believe he hated them cuz he still hung out with Tae and stuff but i guess these last few months or weeks have proved you right again because the whole world can clearly see that Jk has a problem with those pple. Let’s start with him looking almost disgusted at the mere thought of living with Tae, or how visibly uncomfortable he looked when he kept getting questioned about Tae on that Live, and also how everytime he does stuff for Jimin, the cult start manifesting he does the same for Tae and he just doesn’t. And now after liking that Jin video from a tk page, he went ahead to (probably) delete the comment prolly cus his algorithm got messed up with tk stuff. My point is, I won’t be completely closed minded to certain theories u come up with cuz u’ve actually been proven right quite a few times. Cuz who would hv thought we would see an almost desperate Jk insisting for Jimin to let him come over and do a live? I never thought i’d live to see a day like that lol.

That is why now they are photoshopping blurry af pic to claim that tk went on a restaurant date and a beach date😂😂😂😂. Tae used to feed them alot b4 but for some reason he stopped so they basically hv nothing these days. Plus taennie gets one step closer to getting properly confirmed everyday and they are losing it. How I'm I supposed to take this ask?

I have said this a milli times; i go by history. My theories and conclusions depend on history. Has JK done this before? Have Jikook behaved like this before? The number one reason why Jikook stand out to alot of people is CONSISTENCY. This is why people like me who are convinced they're together believe this to be the truth. Because they are sooooo fucking consistent. Yeah after year after year they act the same, they are the same. Their behaviour towards eo has remained the same.

So no, I'm not all knowing or a Jikook professional but I am quite good at remembering useless things that will not help me IRL in any way shape or form. I will have dated my fiance for 4 years in October and I still mistake his year of birth. Thats right, I keep forgetting my fiancé's year of birth. But I know that when Jimin had his foot on JK's crotch, that took place in Bon Voyage season 1 episode 6, but we only see it in episode 8 the finale at 38 minutes in.

That's my mind ladies and gentlemen. 🤦🏽‍♀️

JK has been debunking tkkrs for years. Its not new. He genuinely does not like them. We know this because he goes above and beyond to correct anything that may be construed as him and V being a couple. But u will never catch him doing this for Jimin/ to Jikookers. And yes, this is fact.

We don't get debunked, we get fed.

I've consumed enough BTS content to see it happen so me drawing to this conclusion stems from HISTORY. (And talking with a bunch of great friends who love to analyse) All year we had seen JK be defiant and go against the company and be unapologetic about it. While we had Jimin telling him to stop drinking on live, making fun of JK for singing unholy (a sexual song) on live. So it only made sense to conclude Jimin was the hesitant one. Not JK. Jungkook aint scared to blow shit up but his boyfriend sure is.

If you work with the belief that Jimin and JK are a couple, all that's left is to observe. And u will come to the same conclusions that i (and my pals) do.

When Jikookers make delulu theories I believe we are allowed to. Because Jikook is real and because of this, we are most likely correct. Jikook have done some crazy shit over the years, u can't blame us for coming up with some crazy theories.

It's awful that people are trashtalking something you've clearly worked hard on because of a video that I thought was actually harmless and very helpful. What makes it worse for me is that you both spoke up from a place of oppression and yet you're getting 'if only you'd kept your traps shut and let me enjoy my cartoon lions, then i'd respect you and your work'? Disgusting. I can tell how done you both are with this situation and I think I speak for everyone when I say I don't blame you at all.

I think my favorite part of the whole thing was we weren't even the first and only people to make a lot of the points we made in our video. And all those people who said it first were quickly dogpiled and didn't say anything afterward until we posted our video. It was really something witnessing whole-ass adults saying how amazing MP is for its "mature themes" and "good representation" of queer/disabled people, while in the same breath ridiculing those who come from one or both of those groups who dare try to point out serious flaws (it doesn't really matter whether the fans are also queer/disabled, you just. Don't do that when you're an adult? That's shit I expect from children.)

So frankly we're tired of it. Its unacceptable, and too many of them are well into their 20's. Everyone else who is a MP fan has had perfectly normal reactions and discussions with us, I don't know why everyone else takes it so personally to the point they have to defend objectively harmful tropes just because their favorite pointy lion is attached to it.

Everything RJ has said before, and in my case, what, am I not allowed to point out tired old offensive lesbian tropes? Because I've been doing it a long time, and I'm gonna keep doing it until people stop making offensive lesbian stereotypes LOL (And like I've said before, these are stereotypes that were old years before MP came out. Guess that's on me for assuming people would care about butch lesbians in the year our lord 2020.) I'm not gonna stop just because you happen to like the show. You can either listen or not. It doesn't help that MP is a lot of peoples' first exposure to queer characters in animation. And since it's made by professionals, why would they doubt it, am I right? lol

I've talked about how I'd fix Hover many times, and none of those times had been what we're currently doing with Storm. It would be easy to turn Hover into a character that's closer to myself and call it original. But guess what, I'm not the only kind of butch lesbian out there. I wanted to show appreciation to the kings out there that aren't taller than their girlfriends, that don't have the deepest voices, or the biggest muscles. Cuz contrary to popular belief, butches are diverse. Which means we aren't crass chucklefucks who abuse our partners. You'd think that'd go without saying, but here we are. Not only does it STILL happen in media, but an off-putting amount of people relate to Hover, or like her without bothering to understand why a character like Hover would be offensive to some of us.

Which is all it boils down to. We've been very consistent with our opinions for the last 3 years and people make the exact same arguments against us. She helps you in n1, reveals herself to be Nara at the end. In n2 she hides it till frozen(where she dies) , turns out to be your mom in Lateria, nothing till revival.

First of all. I truly to believe in n2 while she has definitely changed from the literal war at least a little bit, she's definitely playing an act when it comes to how much. I mean, once you go Omnisun and revive her she actually smiles for the first time and it made my heart into a puddle when I replayed. She's genuinely happy<3

Innnn n1 her siblings don't recognize her somehow. Well, Merida mentions her in her nightmare with something like "not without traitors on this side" or something like that, it's been a bit since I read her dialogue

Which. Can Deena interact with her siblings more, PLEASE. She gets 1 interaction with Fenrir, and that's IT. And that's in n2!

There is not a singular part of my soul I would not turn over for James and Deena to talk. Actually have a conversation. Please.

Because they're almost opposites to one another and I really need to see how that would go. Grudges, guilt, and so on. PLEASE.

In n1, in Lateria, you do leave the room. You speak as we are about to fight Grunda, your sprite is in the room. But whoops once he's dead you are gone! No sprite, absolutely no talking until you head outside of the chamber. Coincidence? Probably, but this is my brainrot I will accept it as canon.

In n1 endgame, after killing Omnicron, you literally say almost word for word you will stay and watch your father's soul for an eternity. Deena. No. Just because you're related to Omnicron, does in fact not mean, you should spend an ETERNITY in the netherworld. Ziegler's there and it is stated the wardens do not like you. The most entertainment you could humanly get is probably with Miriam. Deena, we don't do that-

And in n1 POST GAME, when Omnicron is bluffing when he says "if you destroy my soul all nexomon will slowly die", she doesn't deny it. If she knew it was a lie, she probably would have said so. But no. She says something like " You need to. That soul is also the source of great evil. " which, without knowing he's bluffing. Deena. Deena are we going to talk about that, are all? No? What do you mean no. We can't just glance over you essentially being willing to die-

And THEN, as if everything else was not enough, in n2, you are fully willing to hand your child over to Grunda(who's doing great with it, btw), but like. That has got to hurt. Especially after having OMNICRON as a parent. She definitely did not feel good about it I am not taking any arguments about the opposite.

And as a cherry on the TOP. She dies. Now, Xanders may be buff, but he probably couldn't have beaten Deena if she gave it her all. My belief. But issue, this is an enclosed space. And plants are very sharp and hurt very much! If she did give it her all, what is she actually hurt Solus? Alternatively, she's probably still weak from well, giving birth to Solus. Are we noticing a theme in what Deena does, perhaps? Just a little one?

Seriously. She has got to stop saving the world over her own well-being/self. Deena you need a hug and hot cocoa gosh darn it.

- Bonus mini rant! -

Besides, I am so worried about her in n3. Why?

Well. Lets see. She keeps loosing more and more as the series progresses as a. But as b and c..

So, we have a cycle of: Humans v nexo and Deena switching sides. Monsters are in the lead? Deena's going against Omnicron. Humans are in the lead? Let her deal with Vados in a convoluted plan.

Following this pattern, ladies and gentlemen, what do we get for the next game?

Combine THAT, with the lack of choice being a theme(as a person I follow pointed out) sure, Blue messed up killing Omnicron, but what choice did they really have? He was evil, he was going to end the world. There was only one, even with bad consequences.

And then, Amelie, what choice did she really have? I mean, I hate her, but your people are dying gosh darn it. You have to try and stop it somehow, you don't really have a choice less it goes into shit.

Solus had to revive Tyrants, sure it was a bad thing but how else were they supposed to stop Vados? That's their friends, and people on both sides. What choice did they have, really?

Abyssals are also a very prominent example, with them having obviously no fricking choice to do nothing.

So. Combine the two, and you get....

Granted, I pray I'm incorrect. She needs a god damn nap. And hot cocoa.

All of this is to say, I love her a lot. She's such a great character and I just wish for her siblings and her to talk more. And for Solus and her to hug, preferably. It would be appreciated.

Oh and, I dislike her n2 design somewhat. Simple reason, she has 3 goddamn butt flowers. And NO moving green parts! Why??? That was like a staple of Omnicron's children!

I fixed it, there ya go.

Of course this is my subjective opinion and so on, but hey

Oh and ALSO! Personal reason why she couldn't become the ruler of Nexomon: she was weak to wind and fire, simple as that. She needs to get all of her siblings' gifts but she couldn't possibly do those two because how is she supposed to control either at all?

It's why Solus can, they have two weaknesses, one being ghost, and both also being super effective against. So they might have some trouble with those ones, but they are chilling (remember, their weakness to plants is one sided)

chan is just as online as your average stay. felix is all over tiktok. students in a south korean university are demonstrating so noticeably news of it have reached people all over the world. and they are in south korea. they would have heard of everything by now.

chan has a habit of doing things jyp doesn‘t want him to do if he wants to do them bad enough.

i dont think anybody forced them to do this collab.

i dont think they secretly hated it. theyve mentioned wanting to collab with this guy before multiple times; i remember at least two.

3racha and skz have brought insane success to jype with all four of their most recent comebacks. jyp has his flaws, but i don‘t think hes an unapproachable tyrant. other jype artists have talked abt negotiating things with him pretty easily.

i personally dont believe they tried to object to anything theyve recently done, cc or this. i wish people would stop acting as if theyre literal slaves. theyre in a good position in the company and the industry at large.

I definitely don't think they were against any of the collabs they did, but unfortunatly there's still a lot of people who live in their own bubble and don't check the world news, so I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't know what companies are being boycotted.

Most kpop idols stay silent about pretty much all social and political topics, most can't even say outright what their own beliefs are. However there are idols who do speak up - Fatou from balckswan, BM from kard, Suho from EXO to name a few that I can think of. Can it potentially cause consequences for them? Yes. And they still did it. Until a few days ago people weren't event asking kpop idols to speak up, mostly fans were asking companies to divest from working with zionists.

It's pretty obvious 3racha like puths music and were happy to collaborate with him and judging by how many stays didn't know anything about what puth had said in the past, I don't think 3racha knew either. BUT there's is no way they don't know now. When skz were on stationhead today a lot of stays commented about Palestine and the boycott, even tho comments were going really fast, it was very noticeable. Will they stop all the promotions? No. Will jype release a statement? No. They're just going to keep on promoting this collab, remixes will be realesed soon, they're sending this song on radio and performing it on 15th, and that's only what we know of. I kinda feel like even after the promo period they will still perform this song, maybe at the festivals, maybe even on upcoming tour. Also they're spending a lot of time in ny right now so I'm afraid this is not the only weird move that we will see from them, cuz if this song is sort of a pre realese for the album then idk what kind of an album is waiting for us. I hope I'm wrong about that, but i guess we just have to wait and see

a simple guide for beginners on how to manifest. <3

what is "manifesting/manifestation":

in simple terms, manifesting is bringing ur desires into existence (but in reality, it's more like remembering that the desires are already yours/true). manifesting is easy, but there is so much to learn abt it - methods, techniques, limiting beliefs, etc. so this post doesn't cover everything. it's just a simple, short guide. i'll go into details in my future posts.

basics.

as i said already, manifesting is simple. you, reading this, can manifest anything instantly and effortlessly. u create ur reality. believe it or not, we manifest every second - the process never stops. so, instead of having doubts, start believing in urself and claim the power u hold.

there are many methods u can use but tbh the only one u rlly need is affirming.

affirmations r like sentences that confirm smth. for example, if ur trying to manifest a glow up, u could say these affirmations (in ur head OR out loud) - i get prettier every second, everyone loves my appearance, i am the most beautiful person in existence, etc. there are also umbrella affirmations that basically cover EVERYTHING, for example - everything works in my favor, my life goes the way i want it to, i always get what i want, etc.

u decide which affirmations to use, u can even think of ur own ones! get creative cuz why not?

anyways, it doesn't matter when u say ur affirmations. just say them whenever u feel like it and try to put feeling in them. try to feel what u would feel if the sentence ur saying was already true. act as if ur desire already came true. believe in ur affs, know they are true. that's literally all u have to do & the desire is yours!

tips and reminders.

i want u to understand that there are no big and small manifestations. manifesting a million dollars and manifesting a slice of pizza are equally easy.

also, if u ever get doubts that ur desire isn't coming true - just switch it with a positive thought. for example, if u think: "what if my manifestations aren't coming true...", immediately forget abt that thought and tell urself: "i manifest instantly, like wow! i am such a powerful manifestor, i always get what i want!" and that's it. dw, negative thoughts don't affect u. convince ur mind that u always get u want, duh.

don't obsess. the desires r already here, why r u still obsessing over them?

DON'T PAY MUCH ATTENTION TO THE OUTER WORLD - the 3D. the outer world is a reflection of ur inner world so it MUST always reflect ur thoughts. if it doesn't, just ignore that mf and continue affirming. it will give u what u want eventually.

persist. this is a bit debatable, since ur a powerful manifestor and u won't need to persist for days and even weeks cuz u get any desire instantly BUT still, if u don't see the results in the 3d, as i said, just continue affirming and u'll get them rlly soon.

don't limit urself. there are many limiting beliefs that stop u from getting ur desires right now. switch them off, forget abt them. realize that nothing can stop u from getting ur wishes NOW.

remember that there are no rules when it comes to manifesting. yes, i listed these tips and reminders to help you/guide you, but the one in control is you. u create the rules. manifest however u'd like, it's all up to u. whatever u believe in is true in ur reality.

Is there ANYWAY at all out of that fear? How do I give myself and my mind permission to just be who I am? I don't really have ADHD, I've played your ADHD twine and the tips you've put in it has been helpful! (the kitchen timer thing in particular, for allowing me to get shit done). But at this point I feel as though my issue runs deeper than that.

I feel trapped in my own head. I can't ever seem to just relax and stop being anxious about how I present myself to the world. Quitting from social media entirely isn't all that appealing to me, as some friends have suggested, and it doesn't seem particularly fair to me. Everyone else gets to express themselves and put things out into the world. Why should I have shut my presence out?

anon, a lot of what you're asking is like... this hits a level outside of what i can help with as Some Dude On The Internet. this is legitimate stuff of "if you have/can afford a therapist, get one". and i mention the cost cuz i know full well often we can't actually afford that and we're stuck trying to work this shit out on our own.

i will say a couple of things, though:

1. you ask if there's any way out of that fear. the answer is: yes. if you're looking for a "how?", like a strategy guide for this, that's the bit i can't deliver, because what works for one person might not work at all for others, and it wasn't like i just followed some 12 step method to get out of a lot of my own brain shit and things just clicked when i hit step 12. my way out has been messy and slow and weird, sometimes i've even regressed, and then i'd have to climb back up again. it happens!

a big part of what helped me in the past and helps me now is simply this: "nothing is permanent. that includes misery."

when people go on about "nothing is permanent" or similar ideas, that usually comes off as a cynical attitude, but applied to one's own struggles, it's a relieving sort of thought, remembering that being miserable is also not a permanent thing.

it fits in with the way i approached a lot of my problems in general, and still do, a focus on pragmatics and practicalities. i never liked people telling me "look on the bright side" or telling me guarantees of "things WILL get better". instead, i took a different approach in my head to myself:

"things CAN get better."

i didn't like well meant promises people couldn't keep of shit changing. but focusing on the reality that nothing is permanent and that includes my own misery, the knowledge that things CAN change, and looking to others who have had the same struggles as me - especially much older people, to know they've had the same thoughts and worked through too, and are still around to this day - that helped a hell of a lot more.

2. following from that: in my long haul in dealing with depression, one of the things that would keep happening is that i'd have some Big Revelation of my own self-worth, and that would feel great... but then eventually i'd slip back, regress. you have probably had similar revelations, here and there, these sparks of revolution in the self-! and then it fades.

the thing about those big moments, those feelings of revelations of the self, is that to make them more than just a moment, the work afterwards is slow, boring, and tedious. there's a bad habit, this bad (but understandable) belief that once we have those Big Moments, we'll just... be 'fixed' or whatever, everything will fall into line. and that's not how it is. there's still work to be done! building routines and working on basically training your own brain to get out of the old patterns that trap yourself in, it still has to be done, and like i said, it's slow, boring, tedious. to help the self, to build better self-care, there's a lot of just day to day, week to week, year to year work in building on those flashpoints so as to have a stronger 'core', so to speak, of the self.

like i used to think all the time about terrible things happening to myself as a result of being trapped in self-loathing and what i think i 'deserved' to happen to me, or i'd think i'd 'deserve' to just be miserable in general and things to not change, and now i don't! but that didn't happen like a snap from those revelation moments, those were just the catalyst that made it possible for me to have the momentum to work on doing the more plain, 'boring' work of getting better self-esteem, better inner health.

i think of that moment of the end of the evangelion TV series, where shinji finally realizes he wants to actually care for himself, to work against his self-loathing - that's a big revelation moment, and an important one. but the thing one has to keep in mind there is, the revelation is not enough. he would still have to actually *work* on dealing with this brain shit of self-loathing.

i can't provide the exact How of getting out of this brain trap, but i can tell you it is absolutely possible to get out of it (i'm a living example! so are others!), and a reminder that actually getting out of the brain trap does require a lot of boring, tedious work and very incremental improvements, making a little of progress, cementing on it, building on it. there's no 'snap' that just fixes shit, even when we have those revelation moments. they can be crucial catalysts in changing ourselves, but they won't be the Be All, End All of doing so.

i do have one particular concrete tip, though, and falls right in line with my focus on practicalities and pragmatics: deal with vitamin deficiencies and the like. it's something i went on about in that ADHD twine of mine you read in the personal health section; getting more Vitamin D will not SOLVE your problems, but it will take away a stacking factor that probably makes things a lot harder than they have to be in solving those problems to begin with. Better physical health, in making sure you're not deficient in crucial vitamins, and that you're getting enough carbs and fiber and protein and all for your body to burn through and not just run on fumes all the time (as is so common when you're in this kind of self-misery, which i also of course have tons of personal experience with), means you have more stamina to get through shit, and then build on any progress you make, bit by bit. trying to solve your inner issues while your physical body is running on an empty tank of gas, so to speak, will only worsen both issues.

take care, anon. again, the scope of dealing with this is more than i can do as Some Guy On The Internet, and i hope there's professionals or the like in your life who can stick with you on this week to week themselves, but speaking as someone who did break from obsessing with being The Funny Guy and trying to impress with others: it's definitely possible to get out of that. i kept that fact in mind from other people who had the same struggle i did before i got out of it. we're not the first people to have these struggles, not by a longshot. that does not make me miserable - it makes me feel hopeful, because i know that others have faced this struggle and come out of it on the other end before.

JP vs. Localization in Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation

(Okay, for real this time lol)

Again, here’s a link to my sources post.

Fortunately, this route follows suit in terms of good localization quality after Conquest. It’s the shortest out of all the posts, since I don’t really have a lot to talk about. Mostly subtle line changes, references and a few key points of information that were cut out. I also went through Hidden Truths and Heirs of Fate to see if I could add stuff from those on here, but there were no big problems that I found.

Once again, the main part of this post will all be put under the cut. If a chapter isn’t covered, it means I didn’t think there were any differences worth talking about.

I’ll use localized names for characters and locations, unless I feel the need to do otherwise.

I’ll be using she/her when referring to Corrin in this post. (I flipped a coin to decide the gender lol)

Also, note that after Chapter 14, the translation of this route on Fateswartable ends, so I mostly relied on the English patch done by Serenes at that point forward. (I also used PegasusKnight.com as a reference to fall back on if I needed it)

Chapter 7

-A minor gripe I have with localization. The JP version compares Touma (Valla) to hell constantly. To jump ahead a bit, I believe in the JP versions of the End of All Sky/Land/Below tracks are even called The End of All Roads Heaven/Earth/Hell. The Vallites are also often called demons in the JP version, and Anankos himself is known as the ‘Invisible Demon Dragon’.

Another cool thing I just thought of too, is a connection to a popular Japanese short story. Zelda fans might be familiar with the story, “The Spider’s Thread”, which inspired the Ancient Cistern dungeon in Skyward Sword.

The beginning of the story has Buddha walking through paradise (heaven), before coming across a pond. The pond is filled with crystal clear water, and covered with water lilies/lotuses. As Buddha gazes further into the pond, he begins to see the depths of hell.

Sound familiar? “Azura is walking through Hoshido, before coming across a lake. The lake is filled with crystal clear water, and when she gazes into the lake she sees the fallen kingdom of her birth. Valla, the kingdom associated with water lilies/lotuses in the game, has been turned into hell itself.”

This association loses its meaning a bit when the comparisons to hell are a bit toned down, as well as when the Buddhist inspirations were kind of supplanted in favor of Greek renames. It’s not supremely important to the plot as a whole, but it’s something interesting I wanted to bring up.

-In the JP version, while explaining what happened in Valla, Azura eventually says “Using the art of manipulating people’s souls, he (Hydra/Anankos) made the people kill each other.” This bit of the people killing each other was cut in localization.

Chapter 12

-In the JP version, when Corrin asks Flora if she knows anything about dragons, Flora says “Sorry, I don’t know…The ancestral dragon of the Ice Clan has already perished and isn’t part of the legend. I don’t know what role it plays, sorry…” Localization makes her response “I'm sorry, but I can't think of anything... They've been gone so long that we don't even have tales of dragons in the Ice Tribe. I'm sorry I couldn't be of more assistance...”

So, the JP version explicitly says the Ice Dragon is dead (I believe Fates’ second artbook mentioned this as well), whereas the localization only says the First Dragons have been gone for a long time.

Chapter 16

-There’s not really much of a problem that I have with what Ryoma says about Corrin “having leadership qualities at a young age” but I wanted to do comparisons regardless cuz the word choice might lead one to different conclusions. In localization, Ryoma says this:

Ryoma: Huh... So she told us the same thing... I don't think it's in Corrin's nature to lie. And there's a leadership quality about her that just attracts followers. I remember being jealous of her as a child, in fact. Even at such a young age, she displayed the characteristics of a ruler. Silly to be jealous of her, right?

In the JP version, Ryoma says this:

Ryoma: Oh... So, she told you the same thing. …Corrin isn’t one to tell lies. She’s been like that since childhood. She’s always genuine and honest... She has this mysterious appeal that draws people to her. Seeing my younger sister with the qualities of being a ruler... Honestly, it makes me feel envious. …What a ridiculous thing to say, right?

Again, I don’t necessarily have a problem with how it was localized, but some might. The localization version might have people think that Corrin somehow was a fantastic leader at such a young age, but JP is more clear that it was about the qualities she had at a young age that would be valuable as a leader.

Chapter 19

-A minor gripe. In the localization, Azura says that Anankos uses his magic to send Vallites to Nohr and Hoshido to stir up conflict. In the JP version, she says he uses magic, along with the help of a body of water. That’s why whenever you fight Vallites outside of Valla proper, there’s a body of water nearby; Hoshido’s lake (and the ponds shown in Hinoka’s CQ battle which are in the capital) for Chapter 5, the sea for BR chapter 11, the burning falls for BR chapter 21, and the city for Rev chapter 13. Similarly, the consequences of being a victim to the curse are described as “turning into sea foam” in the JP version. Localization as a whole kind of toned down how much water has an influence on the story.

Chapter 23

-Probably the pettiest gripe I have lol. As Arete is fading away from Azura’s arms, Azura has a different reaction in localization and Japanese. In localization, Azura says “Mother? Mother!” while a voice clip of her in-battle pain cries plays. In the JP, she says “*Sob... Sob*…! Mother... Mother...!”, while a voice clip of her crying plays. Her crying voice clip I don’t recall hearing anywhere else.

This is one of the few times in the you get to see Azura express a heavy and heartfelt emotion, since her rough childhood caused her to remain guarded and stoic around everyone. The equivalents to this scene in other routes is her death scene in Birthright, and her crying with Corrin over Ryoma’s death in Conquest; a normally unflinching and aloof character breaking down is a rarity, and indicates that the cause of it is something to take note of for the character as a whole. Localization softened this aspect, and I take issue with it, despite it probably seeming trivial to most other people.

Chapter 24

-When Corrin is questioning the phantom Mikoto, an exchange happens. In localization, part of it goes like this:

Corrin: But this can't be... Are you truly my mother?

Mikoto: I am. Even as a puppet of Anankos, my spirit at least remains my own.

Corrin: I... I believe you.

In the JP version, it goes like this:

Corrin: It can’t be... …Are you really my mother?

Mikoto: Yes... I became an Invisible servant, controlled by the Invisible King... Even so, I am your mother.

Corrin: …………

Again, a minor thing that I don’t personally have issue with, but replacing Corrin’s silence with an admittance of belief could make some believe she has “reverted” back to being too naïve.

Chapter 26

-While Gunter is relaying his past, an exchange happens. In localization, it goes like this:

Gunter: I ask myself that, every day. I cannot understand the minds of royals. To you all, we commoners are little more than pawns in your schemes... Or weeds to be killed on a whim.

Corrin: That's not true...

Xander: Is that how people view the royalty?

Ryoma: Such an impression would easily breed powerful resentment...

In the JP version, Corrin, Xander and Ryoma don’t say anything. They just remain silent.

Endgame

-Not a major problem so much as a general thing about the game, but I can think of like... at least three memes that Treehouse inserted into the localization. Now I like memes, but there is no better way to date your media nowadays. One of them was Kana’s “That’s dragon for I love you” which tbh, is kind of cute and isn’t the most well known meme so I guess I can let it slide. Another is Felicia saying “I had one job!” when she messes up in the dining hall, which isn’t that big of a deal since the dining hall is very optional.

The last one I can think of is why I put this specific grievance here, and it’s during Corrin’s speech before facing Anankos.

Corrin: We won't back down! This is my... This is our destiny! Ready your weapons! Fight for your friends! With the Seal of Flames... With the Fire Emblem on our side! We fight for our world!!

Yeah, she says “Fight for your friends” which is everyone’s favorite Ike line from Brawl. Now, this isn’t even a totally inaccurate translation either, but it kind of just... makes the moment funny for the player when it’s supposed to be commanding and serious I guess.

But yeah, not the most important issue by far, but something I’d thought to mention. Hell, it’s not even that bad compared to how they made Peri’s, Effie’s and Hisame’s quirks into exaggerated and tired jokes. And the Beruka-Saizo support. Never forget.

-When Azura and Corrin are by the lake and discuss the latter’s plans to rule, Corrin says this in localization:

Corrin: I'm going to make Valla a wonderful place! In honor of the true last king and for Queen Arete. And everyone who fought... I promise to make them all proud.

In the JP version, she says this:

Corrin: I’ll make the Invisible Kingdom (Valla) into a great land. For the previous monarch, Queen Shenmei (Arete)… And for all of my allies who fought beside me. I promise.

So, JP version only mentions Arete as the reigning monarch of Valla. Which makes sense, cuz unless there was some wild “keeping the bloodline pure” shenanigans in Valla, Arete being the Queen keeps in line with what we know about the rest of Valla’s history. Arete was royalty from birth, as was her sister Mikoto. Arete is the one who passed down Lost in Thoughts and the pendant to Azura.

RAHHHHH OH MY GODDDDD all my thoughts about her are, to be completely fair, recycled thoughts from much more competent anaylitcsists (thats not a word but i dont care) BUT still i could regurgitate those recycled points for HOURSSS i love her sm. ALSO she doesnt REALLY work better as part of a dynamic im moreso referencing her parallels with aj and lee GGRAAAAAAHHHH LEE AJ PARALELL im very easily pleased.

hmmm janeee... this is where my popular opinion differsss. ok so my thoughts on kenny (this isnt about kenny but kennys impportant when talking abt my feelings on jane) rlly shifted when i watched the video "we dont talk about kenny" or some shit BASICALLY making the claim kennys role in s2 is that of an abusive stepfather. i didnt agree w all their points but its what shifted my view on kenny. (altho my view on kennys shifted AGAIN after playing s2 but youll see that in a sec) when it came to jane tho a lot of the comments were complaining that jane was "just as bad", and the vid doesnt mention her enough. so thats the belief i adopted

UNTILLL i played s2 and thought. no. no shes not nearly as bad as kenny imo. jane has commitment issues forged by trauma which is why shes hesitant to connect w the group and leaves on impulse. she knows what its like to get hurt. but the fandom constantly mischaracterizes this as jane not caring about anyone but herself (probably cuz kenny said it... just sayingg....) and that pisses me off. you cannot claim jane, who killed someone who wasnt directly attacking her the first time for clementine, who pulled clementine out of the ice and was the most concerned with saving her life, who came back after being 2009 emo furry levels of a loner just for clementine didnt care about clementine. she totally did!! she was real with clementine, warning her about love and loss to protect her.

shes totally not justified at all in ep 5 tho. and shes not justified in everything she does! ever! shes morally grey and i like her but i think it just comes back to the ass writing of s2. they wanted a conflict between luke and kenny (new vs old family) but then were like "shit how can we kill one of them!" and decided to bring hotheaded, flaky jane in to KILL A BABY so she would be on the same moral playing field as kenny. which she ISNT thats DEFINITELY A LOT WORSE!! so of COURSE a lot of people hate jane. but idk i think shes mischaracterized a lot which leads to hate for the wrong reasons. it almost feels kinda?? misogynistic at times?? people who are adamant kenny, who has violent rage fits due to his trauma, is justified in doing so but jane being emotionally distant, or dare i say, "a bitch" bc of her trauma is out of line... i see yall...

ayyy bingo!!! oh i got bingo on jane too i just didnt notice oops. OK so kennys section is gonna be as long as janes so before i ramble about that i wanna clarify the dynamic part: kennys whole thing is loyalty and i think his best moments are when hes with other people. theres not one specific kenny + another character dynamic i like, i just think kenny is best when hes w people.

kenny... clenches fist. i mentioned in my jane rant how the "why we dont talk about kenny" video changed my perspective of him. and yeah! it did! i dont like kenny in s2 specifically. i think they fucked up his character for the sake of pointless angst and where we couldve gotten an arc about cycles of trauma or healing or literally just kenny-based-fanservice instead we got a pissing competition between him and jane of who could take out their trauma on the other more violently. kenny particularly gets me bc personally, im a big doormat! i walk on eggshells for people. s2 kenny is the type you need to walk on eggshells for. and thats not healthy. i think kennys statement about jane in the truck is wrong, and i think hers is wrong too, but... i mean shes a LITTLE right. the people around kenny ARE scared of him. he (I THINK) recognizes his actions to clementine but seemingly doesnt take an effort to really change them... he just mopes around and then beats up teenagers. its exhausting.

but i dont think its right to call kenny an abusive stepdad. hes not as bad as i expected, to be frank. hes just really poorly written. he is in heavy grief over his familys death, and theres something that can be done with that, but it isnt. he stagnates until it escalates to a final confrontation- which would work in theory if the confrontation wasnt over the death of an infant, like regular kenny would still totally kill her ITS BABY MURDER IT DOESNT WORKKK- and ends. at least closed-off jane opens up occasionally, she isnt totally stuck at the same point like kenny is. kenny recognizes his problems, but when hes with people he acts the same. itd be like if jane kept telling clementine "i think i will open my heart and be less afraid to accept people into my life" and then left the group again. i could probably say more but ive been typing this for like an hour at least im gonna end it here. kenny my beloved but also i hate you

(altho one thing i do love abt kenny is how no matter what ending u choose he assures u it was the right choice... i think thats sweet. just bc im a big kenny critic doesnt mean i dont still have a big attachment to him)

anyways w/ all this out of the way please note these are all my opinions if anything is inaccurate dont come at me... im simply sharing my perceptions of my favorite little game
