Okay I'm not normally one to comment publicly on ship portmanteaus but we seem nowhere near a consensus and I've been reading basically nothing but taxonomic theory with a side of organizational management for like seven weeks straight so: why is verleth not the default option. It cannot be because it's too close to vexleth when everyone's been using it next to vaxleth for years. Obviously we could go to keyrin, but a) every other Keyleth ship name is [other person]leth, and b) it's going to be annoying as hell with autocorrect for being one letter off of a real word.

But most critical, we cannot use "thelyss" as Verin's part of the portmanteau, on account of the fact that Verin has been on screen for like three minutes, and his older brother, with whom he does still share a second name, has been on screen for like fifteen hours. I know Essek's ship names usually use his title but Verin ALSO is not the most obvious Task Hand (rip Adeen Tasithar, you probably would've loved being a shady bitch in Vasselheim but honestly, I don't actually know well enough to say).

Think of new fans trying to figure out who the fuck is in this ship. Think of the tag wranglers. Think of me, local taxonomy nerd who will one day just lose it and start yelling on the dash about authority controls and the absolute inadequacy of disambiguation by committee.*

inspired by Alexander Rozenbaum's song "Don't want to get old", but since it's in Russian and has no proper translation as far as I know, here's the two lines that inspired the artwork:

I'll bring a cat with myself as well, and it will lay down at your feet Come visit me for a little bit, and stay forever (Я кота с собой захвачу, чтобы он лег к твоим ногам Приходи ко мне на чуть-чуть и оставайся навсегда)

the whole song is about the author's young love and how time passes, how things have changed between that time and today, and at the end of each chorus he invites her to come visit him. the "cat" is a reference to Bulgakov's Master & Margaret, but here it's a literal cat and who's a better cat than a giant Abnormality bird. i bet it's a fuzzy giant floofer

I had so much pain in my stomach yesterday so heres some comfort headcanons

kazuha who wraps you in blankets and lets you take the side of the bed thats with the walls. he makes sure pillows are snugly put and he makes sure to keep the room comfortable so that you didn't have to worry about anything.

if you crunch your body inwards to try to stop the pain he will literally adjust his whole position to make you feel comfortable.

kazuha who cries with you because seeinng you cry and not being able to stop it literally shatters his heart. he can only put his hand when the pain is and hope that his love absorbs the pain from your body.

kazuha who cradles your face and feels the nonstop tears coming from your eyes. he feels your jaw move when you choke back a sob. he literally wishes he could transfer the pain from you to him just to see you ok.

kazuha who brings water bottles and makes sure theres straws so its an easy task for you to do.

kazuha, who calls every one he knows, almost desperate because the painkillers didnt work, eating something didnt work, drinking water didnt help. had you been less focused on the pain, you wouldve seen a kazuha you rarely seen.

kazuha, who stares at you with a firm gaze when you suggest that this pain wasn't so bad.

"kazuha, please. it can't be-"

you stop your sentence when you feel a stab to your ribs.

"oh....fuck....."

you groan in pain and kazuha widens his eyes when he sees you double down in pain.

"[name]. you're not ok. you are in severe pain and expect me to just 'get over it'. dear, we're going to the hospital-"

you shoot your head up and stare at him right back.

"please...i don't want to go to the hospital."

kazuha leans down and sighs. "ok. give it 30 more minutes and if its worse then were going. okay?"

"okay..."

kazuha who literally feels his body go into relief when your pain slowly but surely go away. as you slept away, he crawled into bed next to you and held you hands.

he whispered. "you scared me there, my love..."
