Outsiders Gang + The Shepards baseball headcanons

Ponyboy: - 3d baseman - decent hitter - very fast baserunner - always has sunflower seeds or gum or something

Soda: - Right field - Rlly good at catching pop flys - Always joking with Steve (Left field) - Good hitter - decent baserunner

Darry: - Catcher - Actually really good at it? - Like damn?! - Brings spare equipment - Really strong hitter - Really good runner - Maybe best on the team even

Steve: - Left field - Always joking with Soda (Right field) - Good hitter - Good runner - Got hit in the mouth with the ball at least twice - Never has his goddamn stuff - He’s always missing something - His bat, his glove, his helmet, usually his batting gloves - Has blisters from the bat

Johnny: - Shortstop - Borrows equipment because he can’t get his own - Really good at catching grounders - Always chatting/warming up with Pony - Cos 3d base and Shortstop are really colse to each other - Got hit in the eye with the ball once - (Dally was so damn protective) - Decent hitter - His hits aren’t very strong, but he almost always hits it - Almost never strikes out

Two-Bit: - Second base - Always calling out the play - Almost all the comentary comes from him - Gets drunk every time they win - Strong hitter - Decent runner - Wanted the team mascot to be Mickey Mouse - Really damn energetic - Even if they lose - Really strong thrower - Slides into home - Once tried to fit an entire bag of seeds in his mouth

Dally: - First base - Really good at stealing - Agressive - Almost always gets the batter out - Strong hitter - Good runner - Once he hit the ball right at the pitcher and hit him in the stomach - He always wins the seed spitting contests

Tim Shepard: - Pitcher - Has a really good fastball and curveball - Good arm - Throws 60-70 mph balls on average - Almost always strikes - He’s just like the best pitcher - Strong hitter - But not very accurate - Once he hit a home run and was so stunned that he almost forgot to run the bases - Decent runner - Once tried to beat up the other team’s pitcher - It’s a good thing they play backyard games

Curly Shepard: - Center feld - Consantly has to listen to Steve and Soda’s banter - So fed up - Agressive - Good hitter - But he swings at balls and doesn’t at strikes - Tim’s always yelling at him for it - He improves though - Becomes one of the best hitters on the team - Good runner - Got hit in the balls with the ball once - Always stealing seeds - Good at catching the shin- level balls (As a softball player, I can say those are definitley the hardest to catch)

you both swear you don't look alike, and considering your twins, you don't very much, but the similarities are still there

I feel like before the car wreck, you joined in horsing around with the gang a lot

I'm talking wrestling, fighting, compettions for everything

but then your parents die and things get a lot more serious

Darry won't let you drop out of school like Soda, bcause your grades are real good,

he's just trying to look out for you, becuase scholarships could certainly get you somewhere he couldn't

So you spend most of your time at school, and if your not their your working

it makes Ponyboy sad, not getting to see his big brother as much, but he tries to go visit you when he can

every time he gets Two-bit to take him down to the grocery where you work two ends up generally making fun of your awkward apron/uniform

on the very rare occurrence where Pony gets Dallas to come with him, he normally stands up for you, or makes comments I feel like 'you know I love a working guy, doll' or something that doesn't even make full sense.

everytime you laugh and shake your head and just sort of go back to stocking a shelf or something as you start blushing.

Pony gets so mad but he can't do anything really

the rest of the gang are pretty much any other variation of 'friend' with little slapped on the front

I'm not saying that Saturdays are for the boys, but Saturdays are for the curtis brothers and you know damn well that means Darry getting the day off and the four of you piling into the truck and driving to some random place to spend the day

Saturday Curtis Brother day is the best day of the week :D
