The 1 is talking to an ex and updating them on her life, we got to see it reenacted at the 2021 Grammys when Folklore won AOTY:

The 1 was written between March and July 2020. It had not been long since Harry and Taylor saw each other, we know of at least at Ed Sheeran's Wedding in September. Lover and Fine Line (on Taylors 30th Birthday) came out since then, 2019 had been a big year.

In the long pond sessions Taylor and Aaron talked about how it reflects the whole album. Which is interesting when Taylor also sang in Gold Rush that her mind turns Harry's life “into folklore”.

I see The 1, Cardigan and Exile as one conversation (I'll get to Betty). From pleasantries, expressing support and then rehashing their end.

In the pre-chorus Taylor reflects on the different views of their relationship in 1989 compared to HS1. They have both said they don’t communicate in person what they can in song.

'If you never bleed your never gonna grow' there is a similar line in Woman on HS1: "he’s right where I should, where I should be but you’re making me bleed”. The reference here is that Harry should have shared his feelings sooner, or then but didn't.

However, in Cruel Summer however, Taylor said "And if I bleed, you'll be the last to know, oh" so it seems mutual to hide their feelings.

You may have seen Anthony Boyle on your screens recently as Harry Crosby in Apple tvs 'Masters of the air' or as Kevin Maxwell in 'Tetris', but where have you probably seen him before?

Before he rose to fame in 2016, he was in an episode of 'Game of thrones' as a Bolton Guard in the episode 'The laws of gods and men'. But he doesnt stay for long as he gets his throat cut.

His rise to fame started in 2016 when he landed the role of Scorpius Malfoy in the play 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' for which he was nominated for an Olivier and won. He went from a small local actor from Belfast to suddenly the main actor in a play that the world couldn't stop talking about. He spent three years running around in a blonde wig at the Palace theatre in London and the Lyric theatre in New York where the play is still shown to this day.

After this, he landed small roles such as David Donnely in 'Derry Girls', a comedy which is set in the town of Derry in Northern Ireland which is his home country. His friend, the writter of the show, approached him and asked him if he wanted to be in the show and he accepted, being in it for two episodes.

In 2018, he was cast as Jack Argyle in the BBC drama 'Ordeal by Innocence' which was written by Agatha Christie. A show about a family of adopted children who must work out who killed their mother, unfortunately, the blame is landed on Anthony Boyle's character.

In the same year, he played Liam Farrell in the drama series 'Come home' where he starred along side Christopher Eccleston. A mother unexpectedly abandons her husband and three children and they try to figure out what may have caused this.

In the year after, he played the role of Geoffrey Bache Smith in the biopic 'Tolkien' about the life of JRR Tolkien. Boyle plays one of thr actors closest friends through their time at school and during the war.

In 2020, he was in 'The plot against American' featuring Wynona Ryder. Based on the 2004 book by the same name, the story follows a Jewish working class family set in an alternate America where they watch popularist Charles Lindbergh, an aviator-hero and xenophobe, become President.

In 2021, he played Brian Wood in the true story of 'Danny Boy', a soldier who is accused of war crimes in Iraq.

2022 was a quiet year for Boyle as covid had stopped the production of most tv shows and movies but in 2023, Boyle starred along side Taron Egerton and Toby Jones as Kevin Maxwell in the biopic 'Tetris' which revolves around the game Tetris, its origins and how it became one of the most famous video games in history.

However, in 2024, Boyle seems to have won the lottery with four projects coming out this year already. The first, 'Masters of the air' where he plays an air sick navigator in world war two with Austin Butler. The series which is made by Apple tv is set to be released over two months from January 26th to March 15th.

And if you're not already sick of seeing his face, his new show (surprise surprise, on Apple tv) is set to release on March 15th. Boyle plays the famous actor John Wilkes Booth in 'Manhunt' who assasinated President Lincoln in 1865 and follows the days after this as the nation slides to a halt in the search for the actor.

He is then set to play Jack Barak in the Disney plus show 'Shardlake' which is set on the book by the same name. Set in the reign of King Henry VIII in the 16th century, Boyle plays former Cromwell henchman turned law clerk and investigator for the main character.

Boyle is also set to feature in the New York times best seller book adaptation say nothing which is about the struggles and troubkes in northern ireland which comes out this summer.

These are just some of the many tv shows, movies and theatre shows that Anthony Boyle has and will star in. When he was just starting out acting, he said that he would take any role that fit his description (white male with dark brown hair) meaning he was in alot of embarassing but funny stuff. One where he dresses up as a mummy for halloween and must escape a group of killer clowns, one where he plays a man who is inlove with a pillow and one where he plays a convict on the run in Northern Ireland and has to wear a dress and a wig to escape authorities. However, if you lived in Belfast in the late 2000s, you could probably see him lurking behind big Tescos with a plastic bag on his head.

It seems that Boyle is turning out to be a very promising actor with lots of work lined up. Infact, he is set to record a new show which is set in Scotland. He said on the British talk show 'Sunday Brunch' that he is looking forward to it and has to talk in a Scottish accent.

He was an important dwarf.” Amber reads to her niece, Luna Karev, inside the incubator where she is sleeping peacefully while her aunt reads her a copy of The Hobbit, “If he had been allowed, he would probably have gone on like this until he was out of breath without telling anyone there anything that was not known already. But he was rudely interrupted.”

“Good morning.” Andrew greets Amber and Luan with a smile inside his helmet.

“And so was I.” Amber closes her book and stands up from her chair to face her boyfriend, “Morning.”

“I woke up and you weren’t in bed, I was gonna make you a special breakfast for today before we leave.”

“Alex and Jo are at their lawyers working out the adoption legal stuff and I didn’t want Luna to wake up alone.” She looks down at Luna with a grin, “I thought Tolkien would better stimulate her than those baby books they keep here.”

“Why can I see you two already going to cosplay as Galadriel and Frodo?”

“You make that sound like a bad thing and it’s not the first time I successfully converted a non-geek. I got you to come with me to Emerald City Comicon for two years in a row.”

“Because I was afraid you would get kidnapped in a sea of nerds.” Andrew jokes before grinning down at Luna, “Don’t worry Luna if you want to want to go hiking or learn how to ride a motorcycle, I’m your guy.”

“You put my baby niece in a sidecar, and I’ll kill you before Alex and Jo do.” Ambre half threatens before she realizes what Andrew said, “Wait why were you gonna make me a special breakfast today? What’s the occasion?”

“Seriously?” Andrew asks dumbfounded causing Amber to shrug, “It’s September the 7th, your birthday.”

“Ya-da-da.” Amber stutters holding her finger up to silence her Italian lover, “No cursing in front of the baby especially if it’s the word that shall not be said again.”

“Okay I know…that word is taboo for you for personal reasons, but I just thought this year would be different.”

“Why would it be different?”

“Because your usual rebellious half birthday celebrations in March was stalled this year by a pandemic and me getting treatment.” Amber frowns at the reminder and looks down at Luna so she doesn’t get lost in her darkness, “I just thought with all that happened maybe we could make up for it by celebrating your actual birthday.”

“No thanks. I would prefer to wait it out until next March instead of having cake on a day I detest.” Amber grabs her book ready to walk out, “Babe I appreciate the effort but it’s wasted. It’s gonna take a lot more than a pandemic and my boyfriend leaving for me to consider September 7th a joyous occasion. Save that energy for March 9th and PS I like chocolate chip pancakes with lots of whipped cream on top sprinkled in chocolate.”

“That is a lot of chocolate.” Andrew points out playfully.

“It’s my half birthday I can indulge myself all I want, or you can.” Amber giggles lightly before walking with him to go to the residents lounge so she can get coffee. They open the door and Amber starts to regret it.

“SURPRISE!” Levi Schmitt, Casey Parker, Dahlia Qadri and Taryn Helm shout out loud in the room with Parker using a confetti cannon. Amber jumps at the bang before the multi color papers float down on her to her annoyance. She groans and brushes the confetti off her before walking inside with a frown towards the residents as well as Alex and Jo who are in the room looking uncomfortable as they know how much Amber hates her birthdays.

“Who blabbed?” Amber asks before turning to Andrew behind her who holds his hands up in defense.

“I swear I had no idea; my plan was a cheese omelet with bell peppers. This is not on me.”

“It was on me.” Amber sees Bailey step forward holding a cone shaped hat that says Happy Birthday, “I made it a point to celebrate residents’ birthdays as much as we can. I figured after the year we had some cake and singing might raise morale. By the time I took this initiative your date was next on the roster.”

“Lucky me.” Amber says sarcastically with a visible frown.

“You see I told you.” Alex says bluntly, “She hates it.”

Bailey glares at him, “She does not hate it.”

“I hate it.” Amber confirms bluntly as well causing Bailey to turn her glare at her, “If you really wanted me to be happy today you should have upped my vacation days that would be better than this crap fest.”

Qadri chuckles from the side, “Yeah we tried telling her you were one of those anti birthday people, but she says those don’t exist.”

“Well then I guess this is the one day she’s proven wrong.” Amber maliciously grins at Bailey.

“Shake that negative birthday energy She-Karev.” The chief tells her in an upbeat tone, “We have vanilla cake will that make you feel better?”

Amber rolls her eyes but sees the rectangle pink frosting cake with ‘Happy Birthday Amber!’ written across it.

“Wiping a birthday off the face of the earth should be an option.” Amber responds still bitter.

Bailey is offended and speaks with a frown as well, “Or you could just tolerate the fact that it’s a 24-hour period where the people who love you can treat you extra special.”

“And for the other 364 days they treat me like garbage?” Amber asks her boss who throws her hands up clearly agitated.

“Look child just eat the damn cake, wear the silly hat and enjoy your birthday, chief’s orders.” Bailey holds out the hat for Amber who looks at it for a silent moment.

“Nope.” Bailey is stumped and drops the hat on the floor. Amber turns to the crowd with a grin, “Thank you everyone but I will not be joining you. You guys can mingle and eat while I get coffee and go back to the NICU and continue to read The Hobbit to my beloved niece.”

“Let my daughter have a mind of her own please.” Alex begs his sister.

“We’ll see.” Amber turns to Andrew, “Save me some cake?”

“It is yours so yeah.”

“Thank you.” Amber walks out of the lounge leaving the others to celebrate her special day without her. Alex and Jo chuckled lightly before cutting the cake.

“You gotta give Amber this she has a unique reaction to her birthday.” Jo says with a smile.

“More like an ungrateful reaction to my attempts to bring joy to burnt out residents.” Bailey corrects with a frown, “Who doesn’t love their birthday? What possible reason could give that child an excuse to walk out on cake and love?”

Alex winces, “Blame me and the rest of our family on that reaction. Me and Aaron were asshole teens by the time Amber was born and our mom could occasionally remember her meds. Whenever her birthday came, we would either forget or I would remember and dump her at the nearest Chuck E Cheese so I could go trolling for chicks.”

“This explains so much.” Taryn states in realization as she eats cake.

“Yeah and it didn’t help that I left for med school not long after her tenth birthday.” Alex adds to his shame grabbing a big slice for himself that he instantly devours.

Jo squeezes Alex’s arm, “She more than gets you leaving to survive, she did it too. And besides birthdays are overrated and most of the time your expectations are high, and you get let down every time.”

Alex and Andrew look at Jo surprised that she’s also anti birthday like Amber. Out of the two of them Jo is the more upbeat and positive while Amber is more sulky and cynical. Jo sees the stares and explains.

“Foster parents never remembered my birthday and the gifts I got from charity were always addressed ‘to boy’ and ‘to girl’. It’s safe to say that I more than get Amber’s reluctance to celebrate what should have been a big day.”

“Yeah I get that.” Alex shares, “My parents forgot my birthday and it got to the point where I even forgot my own.”

Andrew looks sullen by these stories, “Wow if they ever want to hire people to make others feel bad you three could be rich.”

Jo chuckles lightly, “It would be great compensation for crappy upbringings.”

“Well now I feel bad.” Bailey sulks eating her cake, “I wish you would have tried harder to stop me before I spent money on this wasted party.”

The residents continue to eat their cake instead of arguing that they tried and were ignored. Andrew finishes his cake before deciding to resolve this issue in the privacy of his and Amber’s home so she can feel special on her big day for once.

That Night

Amber turns the key in the lock on the door outside the patio of her and Andrew’s recently bought house. After he came back from Italy a month ago they went forward in buying a new place together. Amber told him his apartment was too painful for her to live in because of all the bad memories of their relationship happening there. She proposed that they get a new place and he agreed and even suggested getting a house instead.

They were able to buy a 2-bedroom house with both of their savings and a backyard for their dog Jazz who was clearly not fit for an apartment. He is the first person to greet her with his three legs scratching the hardwood as he runs toward her panting. Amber quickly closes the door and gives him an affectionate scratch on the head before walking around the marked unpacked boxes around the house.

“Hey boy.” Amber walks toward the kitchen with Jazz following behind her, “Where’s your dad?”

“Stop where you are right now.” Amber freezes at the sound of Andrew’s voice and stays in place. He walks inside from the hallway carrying a plate with a chocolate cupcake topped with a lit candle providing light in the dim kitchen. He smiles at her, “Happy birthday bella.”

“No.” Amber whines causing Andrew to chuckle as he expected this reaction, “I told you no birthday, we agreed no birthday.”

“Actually, you told me no birthday and I don’t remember making a verbal agreement.” Andrew argues bringing the cupcake with the candle still lit closer to her, “I know you hate your birthday and you have about a million reasons to but I don’t. You may not be happy about the day you were born but I am.”

Amber’s sour attitude deflates at that sweet comment as he continues, “So I’m gonna give you a cake, a private room where we celebrate alone how you like it and your gonna blow out this candle and make a wish. Got it?”

Amber looks at the cupcake enticed by how good it looks wondering if it tastes the same, “…What kind of cake is it?”

“Your favorite, devil’s food, I wasn’t born yesterday come on.”

Amber shakes her head grinning at him before taking the plate from his hands, “Your lucky your cute.”

“I know.” Andrew says smugly, “Now make a wish.”

Amber closes her eyes and blows the candle out making a wish causing Andrew to clap before she takes the first bite and celebrates her birthday for the first time feeling like it’s not a day to dread instead a day to celebrate thanks to the man that she loves.

It’s a pretty slow day for Keigo, oddly enough. Even though he’s working, it’s a rare time where he’s not having to rush from one side of the city to the next. It’s also a rare time where his bosses aren’t hounding him for information regarding his new “business arrangement”. The reprieve is nice, but the downtime is mind numbingly boring. He reminds himself that he should enjoy this, because the likelihood of this happening again anytime soon is very slim.

“I’m going to the store, Kei. Your constant pleas for chicken nuggets have finally pushed me over the edge.”

His heart hammers in his chest at the sound of your voice echoing through his head. In favor of texting, Keigo has taken to sending you a feather every day so that you can speak to him directly. When he’s working, it’s not very often that he can respond, anyhow. That, and he selfishly just wants to hear you instead of stare at a screen. He didn’t tell you that part. You were quick to send him voice snippets as soon as you two adopted this mode of communication. Little encouragements, quick jokes, anecdotes, updates, reminders. He usually hears from you a couple of times a day. It drives him mad for just a second every time he hears your voice, so soft and inviting, in his brain. He considers stopping by your apartment to see you during his patrol, since it was clearly going to be an easy day. Maybe he’ll even bring you a present. A trinket. A snack. A diamond ring. Who knows? Certainly not him.

His phone chirps in his pocket. When he fishes it out, he sees that it’s an email from the HPSC executive handling your case. The title line reads: RE: Trick Shot

Keigo has been exchanging occasional emails with her since the meeting with her three days ago. He’d worked out a vague schedule with her, outlining training, fittings, interviews, and the like. The goal was to have you out on the streets at the end of March; three months from now. It’s a good thing that you just had your last day at the tattoo shop, because the two of you are going to be incredibly busy until then by the looks of it.

He taps on the notification and reads the message.

True to her word, Keigo sees the file at the bottom: Trick_Shot.zip. The reason he asked for your case file is bi-fold: one, he knows that there will be information and footage that will be beneficial in training you, and two, he is desperately curious and impatient. The idea of analyzing your performance in battle has intrigued him since learning about your stint as a hero. This way, he doesn’t have to waste any extra time. He shoves his phone back into his pocket, favoring his computer for such a task. He jets back to his agency.

He lands on the balcony connected to his office with a thump and saunters through the glass doors. The space is much like his penthouse: lacking sentiment and personality. He doesn’t do this consciously. In fact, he doesn’t really notice. He just didn’t grow up like that.

He plops down in his plushy office chair and turns on his double monitors. He quickly punches in his password and pulls up his email. The message Kana sent is already in the process of being buried by other, less important ones, but he hones in.

In your file, much like any other hero file, there’s an assortment of interviews, news clips, assessments, and contracts. He immediately notices that your file is more well-stocked than many of the others he’s seen. There are so many files here that he almost feels overwhelmed. He knows that there’s probably a more efficient way of doing this, but he decides that the easiest way to start is to find items that interest him, either personally or professionally. If he thinks of anything he desperately needs to see, he can cue them up later.

As he begins to peruse the videos there, one catches his eye immediately: Trick_Shot_Perf_Eval_2016.mov.

A performance evaluation is something that hero agencies sometimes like to do when a hero demonstrates a significant change, good or bad. They usually set this up with the HPSC. After a 230 rank jump in 2016, Keigo isn’t surprised one bit to see that you were pulled for one. He clicks on the video, and it opens to you standing in an expansive outdoor arena. You look remarkably similar, but there are a few noticeable differences. You’re clearly younger. Your nose is slightly wider. Your cheekbones are a centimeter lower. Your chest isn’t as filled out.

He mentally slaps himself at that last thought. Focus, Keigo, he scolds himself.

“State your hero name, please.”

“Trick Shot.”

Your voice is more different here than any of the rest of you is. It’s higher pitched, by quite a lot.

“We’re going to commence the assessment now. Act as if this is a real scenario. Begin.”

Your stance immediately widens, and you visibly become more focused and alert. Your hands hover above your utility belt. Your eyes scan the room, deadly serious. The camera angle changes to a wider shot, encompassing the entire training arena. A foam projectile is hurled in your direction from your right. Your head jerks in its direction in half a second, right hand employing one of your throwing knives. You toss it with ease, though the force of your throw pins the projectile to the wall from whence it came, about 30 yards away. Impressive. You use this opportunity to crouch, both anticipating the height at which the projectiles are being thrown and the need to load your gun. You’re able to prepare your weapon without even looking at it, opting to instead continue to scan the room.

“I need help!”

Your head snaps in the direction of the sound and you spot a civilian. He’s feigning injury for the purpose of the scenario. It’s obviously some guy from the commission, because he’s a terrible actor. You sprint toward him, projectiles flying your direction. Instead of attacking them, you’re able to maneuver around them with ease. You duck, weave, even flip over every obstacle in your path. When you’re three quarters of the way to the civilian, a projectile is threatening to drop directly over him. You leap towards it, left leg extended. You swipe it to the side, causing it to land on the ground 10 yards away. You land in a controlled crouch, directly beside the civilian.

“Hi there, I’m Trick Shot. Are you injured?”

A projectile is thrown to your back. Without breaking eye contact with the civilian, you turn your body to aim your gun towards it, shooting directly through the center. The impact crumbles the foam.

“My leg hurts!”

You do a quick scan of his leg and begin to operate under the assumption that he’s unable to walk.

“Everything is gonna be just fine. I’m gonna help you get out of harm’s way. A medic will check you over as soon as possible. Sound good?”

You wait for a nod from the civilian and begin hoisting him over your shoulder. Smart, since he’s taller than you. Keigo worries that you’ll struggle to pick him up, but just like everything else in this task, you barely even break a sweat. You swiftly and safely carry the man to the right of the arena, gently placing him back down on the ground. An alarm sounds, signifying the end of the first portion of your exam.

“You’ve completed the rescue section. Reset for combat.”

You make your way back to your mark, shaking your limbs out in preparation. As you reach your mark, you remain totally neutral.

“The combat section is about to commence. Act as if this is a real scenario. Begin.”

Once again, you drop to an offensive stance. Hands hovering over your utility belt. Serious eyes scanning.

Keigo is aware that this section of the test is at the end for a reason. It’s the most difficult part, and it has the most opportunity to have points deducted. The quirk that is displayed by the ‘villain’ is randomized, so you have to be prepared for anything. He’s trying to maintain an analytic perspective of the video, but he can’t help but silently root for you.

Another commission officer emerges to your left, clad in bulletproof gear. You hear him enter and whirl towards him, weapon aimed with intent.

“Stand down. I don’t want to hurt you, but I will if you make me.”

The stern nature of your tone is foreign to Keigo. He’s never heard you sound this commanding, this threatening. He feels redness creep across his face, and the familiar, but unexpected tingling of arousal. While Keigo is emotionally invested in protecting you, he can’t lie that women who can kick his ass excite him in the worst way. It’s even more exciting when it’s you. He blinks hard, willing himself to focus for a few more minutes.

Your opponent wastes no time on chatter and immediately attacks. He digs a gloved hand into the turf and launches a large patch in your direction. You spring several feet in the air, knees bent and gun drawn. As you descend, the patch of earth is dangerously close to your feet. Instead of it clipping you, as Keigo was expecting, you use it to propel yourself toward the enemy. Before he can even react, you’ve arched over his head. As you prepare yourself to land behind him, you unload two tranquilizer darts into his back. The alarm sounds once again. The exam is completed.

Keigo quickly pauses the video before the results section to check the timestamp. The entire exam took you five and a half minutes to complete, give or take. This is the first time that he’s seen anyone complete an evaluation of this caliber in less than eight. He’s shocked. He’s in awe.

He’s even more turned on.

He can deal with that problem later.

He presses play on the video again, eager to see the breakdown of the results. The grassy arena cuts to a black screen, white text outlining your performance.

Overall grade: 98/100

Rescue Section: 48/50

Combat Section: 50/50

Recommended Action: Further supplementation to suit/gear. Pair with rescue hero.

Damn right. Keigo knew that you were an excellent hero. If it wasn’t evident by your impressive rise in ranks all those years ago, then it was clearly evident now. He double checked the year and did some mental math. He’s even more fascinated when he realizes that you were freshly nineteen at the time of this test. You were ruthless. You were focused. You were determined. Same as you are today.

He considers the advice that the commission gave at the end of the video. Diversifying your arsenal was easy. He’d been thinking of creative and useful tools to give you already. You weren’t necessarily bad at the rescue portion. He imagines that you were deducted points off for overall speed. You could also only really attend to one person at a time in a situation like that. He could give you extra tools to make this easier, like some sort of anti-gravity tech or something.

Or, you could just work with him.

It makes a lot of sense, outside of the host of personal reasons Keigo has for wanting to partner with you. He has an excellent track record with citizen recovery. The nature of his quirk allows him to rescue multiple people at once with great ease and dexterity. You two also have an established chemistry, which is beneficial in a hero partnership. You have grown to be able to read each other well, from vocal cues to body language. It’s so eerie that Keigo has actually considered that you two share a few brain cells. This union is almost perfect. He just has to overcome the mountainous hurdle that is his romantic feelings toward you. That, and he has to resolve his new task of infiltrating a powerful, destructive organization of evil-doers. No big deal.

“Kei, hope you’re successfully kicking villain ass today. By the way, the store only had vegan nuggets, so I went home empty-handed. Sorry ‘bout your luck.”

As your voice bounces off the walls of his skull, his heart bounces off the walls of his rib cage. A giddy smile eases across his face, so wide that his cheeks hurt. Knowing that you’re thinking about him and cheering him on has him reeling. He imagines you’re lazing on your couch, wearing your comfiest clothes, holding his ruby feather to your mesmerizing lips. Whispering into it, soft breaths puffing against the down.

Or maybe, since you’re alone, you’ve ditched your sweatpants. Sprawled across the couch in a big t-shirt and panties.

Or maybe, you’ve ditched clothes entirely, trusting in the safety of your enclosed apartment to rid yourself of that pesky cloth imprisonment.

Or maybe, you’re still just fucking horny, Keigo thinks to himself. He sighs and drops his head in his hands. As he rubs his eyes, he tries to imagine something else. Cartoons. Paperwork. Kombucha. Something.

He opens his eyes only to meet with the persistent bulge in his pants. He sighs. He reminds himself that he’ll likely have some time to himself tonight after he’s off.

This whole ‘getting over his feelings for you’ thing might be more challenging than he thought.

His phone chimes. He lifts his hips to retrieve it from his back pocket. Of course, it’s you. It must be something that requires a response, otherwise you’d use his feather.

You’re the only one who can get away with calling him that. Then again, you could probably call him anything and he’d answer to it.

His eyes flick up to the corner of his touchscreen to check the time: 5:55pm. He’ll be off in an hour. He’ll fly to his penthouse for a quick shower. Then, he’ll be able to spend the rest of the evening with you. He hums at the thought.

Keigo returns his attention to his computer screen after sending his reply. Now that he’s got something to look forward to other than shameless self-indulgence this evening, he seems to be more focused. After scanning the items present in your file once more, he’s drawn to one even more important than the clip he just watched.

Buried amongst the plethora of other things is your career summary, crafted and curated by the HPSC. It’s the most current document in the entire thing, having been edited mere days ago. He usually views this document first when going through any other case file, but the excitement of this being your case file caused it to escape his mind. Just as his mouse hovers over the link, his phone goes off again. It’s a call, which can only mean two things: his villainous new side-piece, or worse, an HPSC rep . He groans, swiping it off of its place on his desk. An unknown number flashes across the display, telling Keigo that it is, in fact, the aforementioned villainous side-piece. He takes a deep breath and answers.

“Yello.”

Keigo always kind of hates it when people answer the phone like that, and perhaps that’s why he does it now for the first time. Even though there’s nothing societally wrong with it, he wants to inject a little bit of asshole-ery into this conversation. Just for himself.

“Meeting at the usual spot tonight at 7. Don’t be late.”

His heart drops. This is worse than the whore-ish plans he had for himself tonight, before you extended the offer to drink with him. Far, far worse. He knows that this call to duty should rise above any other plans he might have for the rest of his day, but since those plans involve you, he can’t bring himself to ditch them. His synapses start firing at a million miles a minute as he speaks.

“No can do. I’ve got a press event after work today.”

“So, I see you’re still whipped for the adoring fans, hero boy.”

“You know what this is about. I have to keep up appearances in order for this to work.”

“If you actually cared about the cause, you wouldn’t even bother.”

“Baby, don’t be so clingy! We can have our little date tomorrow, I promise.”

Keigo has often used this sort of tactic to diffuse situations like this. There are a few reasons for this: it catches the recipient off guard, and it eases tensions, usually. Mainly, he needs to make himself laugh right now, to remain sane.

“I don’t need to keep you around, you know.”

“Oh, but you do,” he replies, all lightheartedness gone, “because I have connections that you never will. Information that you never will. I want to help you, and I will, believe me. But if this is ever going to work for either of us, you need to trust me. I can’t just stop going to press events or people will get suspicious. That’s the last thing we need.”

Static and the sound of shuffling fabric taint the pause that follows Keigo’s borderline threat. Every passing millisecond further convinces him that he’s fucked this up.

“If you don’t make it here by nightfall tomorrow, I’m done covering for your ass.”

With this, the line goes dead. Keigo lets go of a breath he didn’t realize he was holding as his phone drops into his lap. His now empty hands run through his mane, pulling ribbons of tawny hair with them. The realization that he (hopefully) successfully lied to a man who holds Keigo’s entire life in his hands hits him like a freight train. He is both incredibly proud of and entirely ashamed of his ability to do that.

“Dabi,” he mutters to himself, “what the fuck am I gonna do with you?”

"Jujutsu Kaisen" will conclude its 6.5-year run in September. With just 5 chapters left, author Gege Akutami says, "It's a satisfying (probably) finale."

On the 19th, Shueisha announced that the manga "Jujutsu Kaisen" by Akutami Gege will conclude in issue 44 of "Weekly Shonen Jump," set to be released on September 30th. With five chapters remaining, the series will come to an end after six and a half years since its serialization began in March 2018. Akutami commented, "We are working hard to create a final chapter that will (probably) satisfy many readers." Akutami mentioned during the Jump Festa 2024 stage event at the end of 2023 that "This will probably definitely be the last Jump Festa while Jujutsu Kaisen is still being serialized," indicating that the story is expected to be completed in 2024.

With five chapters remaining, Akutami stated, "The story will end in five more chapters. I'm only able to conclude the story as I envisioned thanks to the support and cooperation of all our readers. Thank you! We are working hard to create a final chapter that will (hopefully) satisfy as many people as possible who have supported Jujutsu Kaisen. So everyone, please forgive us!"

Additionally, as a countdown to the final episode, a project to release 245 chapters for free on Shonen Jump+ and Zebrack has started today, the 19th. "Jujutsu Kaisen" began its serialization in "Weekly Shonen Jump" in March 2018. The story is a dark fantasy where high school student Yuji Itadori enters a world of battles involving curses after unsealing a powerful "cursed object." The manga has sold over 90 million copies in total. The TV anime aired from October 2020 to March 2021, gaining significant popularity, followed by a theatrical anime released in December 2021. The second season of the TV anime aired from July to December 2023. A sequel, "Jujutsu Kaisen: Death and Retribution," has also been announced for production.

pre-US grand prix astro, and hbd leclerc!

7:25 a.m. Oct. 15 2024 under a roof under the rain

One last astrology post related to F1 to get it out of my system this week so I can freely tune in to the other stuff I have on my to do list bc this is getting out of hand. I've paid more attention to the F1 astro spreadsheet than I have for literally four other projects so I need to put an end to this.

First off- today a few days ago was Charles Leclerc's solar return! (Finishing this waaaay late bc I got swamped w work)

He has an AA chart, which means that profection years can be used more accurately. He just turned 27, coming in from a Saturn-ruled 3H year (driving, short-distance trips, communication, familiar places) to a Saturn-ruled 4H year (home, ancestry, foundation, privacy and coming home).

Although Saturn is still his timelord, this time his natal 4H Jupiter Aquarius now also joins the fray. Those are rather heavy generational planets in his chart, and is usually a signature of structure in his life- he has a natal Jupiter and Saturn sextile, which means that he gets so much support in his work from his hometown generally.

However, this year, his SR chart barely avoided being a full moon- which means that he also narrowly avoided a lot of the crazy stress and overstimulation that happens around the eclipse- particularly this one, which is conjunct Chiron, and is also the last one in the Aries-Libra axis for a while.

However, he is building up for a different kind of stress next year.

And now that Pluto in Capricorn is finally fucking direct again, Charles (and the rest of the cardinal-heavy grid) can get a rest from the spiritual washing machine of the early 20s.

Him, especially, finally getting somewhat of a break from the gutter of what must be either sleepless nights or health scares that he's been navigating for around three years now, since Pluto did its weird ups in 2020, and also considering that he's the only guy in the grid getting a 1-2 punch of the nodes in his luminaries.

(Big shoutout to Alex Albon and Esteban Ocon as well, for going through their nodal reversals this year. Big revelations with regards to their racing styles recently, but mostly for Alex, who has had the heavy pressures of Saturn pressuring his brain and good luck into diamonds these past two and a half years. Congrats on the hard-earned skills!)

However much Charles will be supported next year though, he will probably be more... scattered in a way, than he is now. Perhaps a lot more sponsorships here and there, more things to note of. SR Saturn in Pisces is still retrograde, and its ruler Jupiter is very dizzy in Gemini, as well as just freshly turning retrograde, which means that this whole next year will be unexpected for him, last-minute turns, and a fuckton of air, as the energy found in his 5H (play)-8H(debt) axis right now will stick with him for next year.

I've been rewatching the clip of him and Fred Horner jump into the bay in Monaco because that's what the best-case scenario energy of the SR return looks like for him honestly. The blessing of water, the gamble won by luck. Breaking a curse!

However, a lot of stuff will be delegated to him soon, and the muchness of it is what will suck major ass. These two are in mutable/mundane signs, which means that whatever will be the breaking point, it won't be an obvious thing. You can't pinpoint the one big source of his stress. It will be an accumulation of a lot of tiny ordinary things. That much spinny water in his house of creativity, risk, romance, and sports + twisty wind in the house of other people's money, secrets, and the community he gets from his career will combine into a huge hurricane next year.

Around February-March and August-September next year, will be good for him, I suppose, in a flowers-twisting-through-the-air kind of way. He'll do better abroad than at home.

However, astrology is a snapshot of the moment! And I want to see if my theories on this weekend's US Grand Prix will come into fruition for the racers based on what info I have on their charts (below the cut for more astrobabble):

F1 the race is primarily a sport. MARS, planet of action, will, drive, war, gasoline, fuel, combustion, things that go fast- it is king here in all the sport, especially one directly born from the war like F1 was.

Formula One the event, however, is a wonderful combination of Mercurial and benefic energy. It is considered the pinnacle of motorsports. It's an athletic competition that assigns points not to the strength or prowess of the body (Mars = physical strength) but rather, the power of the shell (Venus = adornment) they sit in, and the strategy + constant innovation made by multiple minds on the track all at once (Mercury = communication and relay) to get that shell on the track.

And also- Jupiter! A dry planet in a wet sign, going across all borders. The planet of wisdom and generosity is not as Mr. Worldwide as they should be in Sagittarius, but luck is not the point when it is in Pisces. Mysticism is the point in Pisces. Societal construct and keeping shit in is the point of Pisces (and I will talk about how racers with water placements consistently dominate the other fire-ruled racers in this sport next time, when I've finished the spreadsheet and get all 800+ racers on there).

This is the chart I cast from the first F1 race btw, if you care. a more accurate F1 chart would be the day they signed the papers to get the event rolling, but for obvious reasons that document might not be open to the public. so this is the first F1 race in Silverstone. The article covering the event didn't mention the exact time the race started, so pay no mind to the ASC, I just aligned it so that Pluto is there.

To reiterate, F1 is a very shiny, very expensive, very fast and meticulous team sport as much as it relies on the driver, and while Mars is important here, he does not always get to dictate what goes on during a race.

So, can we use astrology to find out who wins the Grand Prix this weekend? Yes!

Can I do it? No.

LMAO I wish I was that skilled! However, making guesses is one of the free things in life that we have. And good for me, since I like experiments.

In order to "guess" who'll dominate the track, we'll have to establish two* things: the condition of the planets of the current racers; and the condition of the planets as they currently are in the sky right now.

But Helen! You say. Nobody has the fucking time to look up all of the racer's possible natal charts and color-code all seven of their traditional placements according to essential dignity! What kind of a weirdo would do such a-

Oh, look. Here's a totally-not-obsessive spreadsheet of the natal planets of the current grid (including Daniel and Logan, w/c I haven't marked), as of the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix. Only a handful have accurate birth times, so no ASC, and mind the moon placements.

Before you say anything, I am clearly not the first astrogirlie who attempted to do this. Astro dot com has an AA-Rodden-rated chart of the first F1 racer all the way back in the 1950s, as well as rectified birth times for those famous racers whose birth certificates are not publicly available. Greater, more weirder minds than me have tried to tackle this. But I am the only one doing so on Tumblr. I think.

Anyway, now that we've established that, let's look at the conditions of the sky this weekend!

Aspects: T-square between Fallen Mars, Fallen Sun, and Pluto in Capricorn; Venus sep. from Pluto, about to oppose Moon and detriment Jupiter; Grand Water Trine (by sign) from Mars, Mercury, and Saturn.

T-square between Fallen Mars, Fallen Sun, and Pluto in Capricorn

Most likely to affect: The Cardinal-heavy people, but most likely Leclerc, Perez, Alonso, and Bottas; who have more than 3 Cardinal placements each

Most stable drivers: The Water-heavy people, namely Sainz, Hamilton, and Stroll, who have more than 4 water placements each; and a special shoutout to Saturn making Albon especially stable (3 Pisces) (update: it's his 100th race! <3) , and Mars for making Alonso especially slick (3 Cancer)

Mars: Unhappy in a wet sign, will continue to be there until next year. Normal road rage is not cutting it on the track. This is the personal attacker, the passive aggressive warrior. Whoever is usually on top is now at the bottom. Emotional overtakes.

Sun: It does not like being in the sign of Libra, but now that it will be ruled by Venus in Sagittarius giving Ms. International vibes (and US being a Sagittarius country itself), and is also the anchor of this T-square between two big planets, it is going to give more pressure to those with Libra/Sagittarius placements. Perhaps even literal heat? Leclerc will be the most affected, followed by Zhou and Magnussen. Verstappen has the natal sextile between his Libra Sun + Mars in Sag as well, but the stars favor Libra III sun Leclerc better right now.

Venus separating from Pluto, about to oppose Moon and detriment Jupiter

Most likely to affect: Sagittarius placements, namely Verstappen, Leclerc, and Perez (natal Mars in this sign); Piastri (Jupiter Return, now Rx**); Hamilton, Russell, Hulkenberg, and Colapinto (one planet in Sag, to a lesser degree than the others)

Most supported drivers: Venus doesn't do well in motorsports/the game itself, but it sure as hell will drive up connections and funding for whoever is here, especially since the US likes a certain type of branding in its racehorses. Affected Fire Venuses on the grid; Leclerc, Piastri, Hulkenberg, and Ocon

Venus: Finally a fire sign in the sky, so expect more fights and a lot more friction on the tracks.

Moon & Jupiter: Mercury-ruled placements will have more air for this game. Since a majority of the grid has significant air placements, this wouldn't really stand out for any single racer. Piastri might be supported if he doesn't go the way of the two others, while Colapinto and Zhou might be noticed (but it possibly might be a personal thing that's not significant to the race).

Grand Water Trine (by sign) from Mars, Mercury, and Saturn

Most likely to affect: Alonso and Albon, and to a lesser degree Sainz, Hamilton, Russell. Can't say whether it'd be personally significant to them because there's no confirmed birth time for most of them, but it would be fun to see who gets bolstered during this highly emotional weekend.

To summarize, my guess would be that Leclerc and Perez perform the best this week though it won't necessarily translate to a podium. Piastri is a wildcard. The air-fire mutable energy in the sky is highly conducive to the air-fire cardinal-heavy grid, and indicates a lot swapped positions.

This would've been more easier because whoever has the most prominent Jupiter placement would be the winner- but I make do with the information that I have and the limitations of what I can interpret. Incredible fun.

(side note: Pluto planting its generational butt firmly in Aquarius next year up to the next 20 years could also just signal a change in F1 overall. Of course it would be detrimental across the grid, considering that the EU had passed a gasoline car ban for 2035, and that particular legislation's effect on motorsports as a whole will be an interesting landmark case to watch.

Castlevania Season 4 is an anomaly, because when put next to Season 3, it feels like either Season 4 was finalized before it's predecessor, and they had no time to update it to be more congruent with Season 3's developments, or they were exhausted after finishing Season 3, took a long break, and they lost all of their animation copies and continuity notes, so they had to write follow-up stories from their memories, but they also wanted to tell something new by then. Know what I'm saying here?

I do. I believe two factors impacted Season 3 and Season 4:

Season 3 was not meant to exist. The story was effectively done by S2, after Dracula's death. Or rather... the three protagonists were done, as per Dracula's Curse - Hector and Isaac should have, by all means, transitioned into the Curse of Darkness story. But the original script, the one revised by IGA, only accounted for a Dracula's Curse adaptation. I believe there is a reason S3 was announced in 2018, but was released in 2020: that suggests production issues. Basically, Ellis received more freedom, but he also didn't know what to do anymore, and it's written all over the season. It's obvious they (Ellis and the Deats brothers; I don't think Shankar had much input by this point) were all throwing shit at the wall to see what stuck, only vaguely inspired by the idea of a "vacuum of power" left by Dracula. The Trephacard gang, in particular, has screentime only because they couldn't be dropped as characters, but they really should have been cut.

S3 was criticized by the fans for being simultaneously bleak and a waste of time, and Ellis was accused by dozens of women of sexual misconduct. The story needed to have a happy ending that would make up for all the previous cynicism, and it needed to be wrapped up quickly to cut ties with the man (they couldn't replace him, I suppose: Nocturne is proof of how recognizable Ellis' style is). Season 4 was painfully rushed as a result.

I've read multiple times the theory that a 5th season was planned, and on Wikipedia they say this:

"On March 27, 2019, Netflix announced they had renewed the series for a fourth season,[21] stating on April 16, 2020, that it would be the series's final season.[22] On July 31, 2019, it was reported that amid a wave of sexual misconduct allegations being levelled against the show's creator and showrunner Warren Ellis, he would no longer have any involvement in developing subsequent Castlevania series after the fourth season's release.[23]"

And yeah, the timeline to say "welp shit better be done asap" matches.

I don't believe S4 was planned in advance. It is possible that as S3 was being written, they started to have a general idea of the kind of character development some characters would go through: for example Alucard was pushed into misanthropy by the end of S3, but with the idea that he'd eventually rise above his father, which happened, although in the span of one episode. I'm on the fence about Isaac learning to "live", because that feels like a response to his massive popularity more than something planned in advance, even though admittedly a few seeds were planted in S3. And as for Hector, I am positive the original idea was for him to go on a rampage in the castle, finally growing into the gigachad his fans wanted him to become, but someone in the crew fell in love with the Lenector ship (or saw how much fans loved Lenore), and they swerved his story into that direction at the last minute. That love story is no product of Ellis' pen, I can guarantee you: he only provided the sassy dialogue. basically what flynn did in frontiers lmao

(Trevor and Sypha did nothing relevant, ofc. Trevor was given the Death fight out of pity and I'm also positive about this)

More info on Momo: She was reincarnated as a baby born to the childless couple who took her in when the series began, and grew up to be an adult woman... only for her to use magic and age herself back into childhood.

So you mean to tell me that we could've had a legit adult Magical Girl?!?! Maybe that's why we rarely have them nowadays! The Minky Momo Curse IS indeed real, and it manifests in many ways!

Also, a bit of LatAm trivia for you all: In Latin America, we knew Momo as "Gigi", and I think the folks at Europe knew her by that name as well (because no one would understand that a "minky" is a fluffy fuzzy material that's used in baby blankets, nor that "momo" is japanese for "peach", which is also fuzzy).

Anyways, here in LatAm, Magical Princess Minky Momo was known as Las Aventuras de Gigi (ENG TL: The Adventures of Gigi), and Momo/Gigi's death, and later her reincarnation, were the last we've seen and heard of her here, even though it wasn't the REAL ending, as there's a second season with another Momo from the Sea Kingdom.

And I still to this very day can't distinguish both Human Momo and Sea Momo from eachother, nor understand why they look the same character...

Why not have Human Momo be an adult woman who finds herself slowly becoming disenchanted by life and struggling with depression as her memories of her past life as a princess fade away and become nothing but lost and forgotten dreams, and has a faithful meeting with the oddly-similar looking but young girl Sea Momo, who helps her in overcoming her sadness and find joy and wonder in life again as her past life memories and dreams are suddenly unlocked within the depths of her brain?

We could've had a Bluey before Bluey was even a thing!

“They said to wash your hands for one whole minute.”

Tsuna nodded, squishing himself into the bathroom after Lucia. Their little apartment was as comfortable as it came, and Tsuna had long since gotten used to the notion that privacy was a primitive idea. He had evolved to a point where he could coexist with Lucia barging into the bathroom to brush her teeth while he was taking a shit. 

“Let’s make it into a song!” 

“Do any of your Disney songs fit the one minute rule?”

“Uhmmm∼” Lucia purposely bumped into him, telling him to shut up and follow her lead. Tsuna pushed back, he would have none of that today. “Come on! Washing hands for 3 minutes is not even that bad, it’s actually better.”

“I disagree.”

“Stingy.”

Tsuna rolled his eyes. He might as well ignore her suggestion and get this over with—there was a new game he was dying to try—until he realized his hands were filled with more disinfecting soap than he would have liked. He threw a glance at Lucia, his suspicions were put to rest when he noticed the bottle of soap in her hands. 

Petty. 

“Then,” Tsuna took a deep breath, it wasn’t every day he decided to break into a musical number, the whole mechanics of it were still rather embarrassing to him. “Oni no pantsu wa ii pantsu~ Tsuyoi zo, tsuyoi zo~”

Lucia’s eyes sparkled with mirth, whether because of his poor musical skills or because of the song itself, he wasn’t too keen on finding out lest she laughed in his face. She poured a gracious amount of soap for herself, “Tora no kegawa de dekiteiru~ Tsuyoi zo, tsuyoi zo~!”

The one marathon everyone was waiting for | March 10th, 2020

Tsuna cursed as he was confronted, once again, with an incomprehensible string of kanji he didn’t remember writing. “I don’t know what I meant, but it’s not this!” he groaned, ending the sentence’s entire existence. 

The sudden lockdown had left Tsuna—and therefore Lucia—with too much free time on their hands. Tsuna took to writing those game reviews he said he would be writing later, until “later” became “never” and he had to replay those games from beginning to end. 

He was Tired™.

“Why did you pull an all-nighter?” called Lucia’s voice from the kitchen, the sounds of pots the only indication she was using the place for more than just the comfortable table Tsuna opted against in his exhaustion. “And don’t think I don’t know. Your spot was cold this morning.”

Right, he wasn’t allowed to pull all-nighters, but she could pull as many all-nighters as she wanted in the name of the family. Tsuna called bullshit on that logic, and turned up the volume of the TV, if only to add some background noise to not fall asleep to. 

“—un mese di Harry Potter! Tutta la saga, dalle prime lezioni... fino all’ultima avventura—” (a month of Harry Potter! The entire saga, from the first lessons to the last adventure)

The scream coming from the kitchen jolted Tsuna awake, something which the no-sugar-triple-shot-espresso coffee he had drunk had clearly failed to do. He had no time to blink as Lucia barreled into the living room, snatching the remote from his hands. 

“—tutti i lunedì e martedì alle 21 e 20 su Italia 1!” (all mondays and tuesdays at 9:20 pm on Italia 1!)

Lucia turned towards him, smiling too bright for him to feel at ease, the remote returned to his hands a moment before she spoke, “We’re doing the Hogwarts Sorting Hat quiz.”

“I thought you already did.” Tsuna blinked, confusion hitting him like a particularly well-aimed bullet to the head — and yes, he was familiar enough with that sensation to use it as a metaphor. 

“But you didn’t.”

“Because I didn’t watch the movies—we talked about this.”

Lucia pointed at the TV where a washing machine commercial was currently being aired, her brightly shining eyes begged him to understand what she was trying to communicate without saying more on the subject. Tsuna blinked at her once again, begging her to understand he hadn’t yet unlocked the ability to read people’s minds. 

“Italia 1 is marathoning the movies, it’s the perfect opportunity to watch them.”

“As if they don't run a marathon every 2 to 3 years.”

“Shush.”

“Why the quiz?” 

“I want to know what’s your house.”

“What if I end up in a different house? Than yours?” 

“I wouldn’t break up with you over that.” Lucia rolled her eyes at him, as though he was being stupid for assuming she would break up with him for such a petty reason. He wasn’t convinced, at all, considering she almost strangled him when he admitted to not having seen much of Disney’s movies.

“I won’t be held responsible for what that quiz says.”

“Pff, there’s no way you’re anything other than a Gryffindor.”

Fortunately for him, he didn’t even need to correct her as the HUFFLEPUFF badge on the screen seemed to do all the talking. Tsuna was, however, bemused about his girlfriend angrily ordering a bunch of Harry Potter merch just for him — was she or wasn't she happy that they were in the same house?

The Magic That Kills: A Detailed Analysis of Momose Amane’s First Trial

If you’re here from my last post about Amane’s second trial, hi! If not, well it’s still a hi for you.

If you don’t know what MILGRAM is or how it works, here’s a snippet from my last post:

“... MILGRAM is a Japanese interactive music project by DECO*27 and Takuya Yamanaka, established in April 2020, where 10 prisoners are put into three rounds of trial to gradually express their guilt and sins into a song. The viewers, representing an ungendered guard named Es, vote if the prisoner should be “innocent” (forgivable) or “guilty” (unforgivable). Each prisoner has a different experience and style of music and visuals, but have a single thing in common: they all have committed murder. This will focus on one of the 10 prisoners, a 12-year-old girl named Momose Amane who has known to have been brainwashed into a cult’s practices ...”

Anyways, here’s a detailed analysis (with timestamps!) with my interpretations of Amane’s first trial. Please note I’m not saying this is what Amane’s trial is about, they are mere speculations.

P.S. Please make sure you have watched both Magic and The Purge March. I will be cross-referencing both.

Title Analysis

Unlike my previous post, I’ll go with this analysis first because I feel like it’s an important thing to keep in mind in the entirety of this post.

おまじない (omajinai) can also be written in kanji as 御呪い. The character 御 can mean manipulate/govern and the character 呪 can mean spell/curse.

Visual and Lyric Analysis

0:00~0:23: Amane is introduced like she is in a show. Considering that MILGRAM shows these MVs through the prisoners’ point of view, memories, etc. and that Momose Amane is only twelve, it is possible that what she is going through is being sugarcoated as something everyone goes through/can withstand—in terminologies, this “show” is made to look like it’s rated for all audiences.

0:24: In The Purge March, the green flag is the green mascot in magic, named Gachata, embodying the lyric (commandment) of “[achieving] a goal without straying from the path.” You could say Gachata teaches faith. Additionally, he is said to have a serious personality.

0:26~0:35: Amane is shown a board, where she is taught her schedule—possibly even her life—planned out by her parents (which lowkey reminds me of the little girl from film “The Little Prince” if I’m being honest) and how she should always follow this “schedule” waking up, work first, play later.

0:40~0:50: Yuri is introduced, whose commandment in The Purge March literally means “pay for what you believe in” as it collects fees to the point the box is overflowing. Yuri is said to have a “big brother” personality.

The animals that pay for the beliefs are the cult members, who are also shown to be animals. It is possible that this is how Amane views them, and it is also possible that her parents may be the only ones benefitting from it (the money).

0:52~0:54: Amane encircles her arms above her head, showing that she is agreeing to something, while the two robots look at each other, skeptical. They look like they are in a TV show where the mascots are the hosts and Amane is participating in a Q&A segment. On the podium where Amane stands, the phrase さいかいは? is written. They are possibly testing her if she learned from the lessons these two mascots gave her.

0:56~1:03: The robots cross their arms, disagreeing with her. A penalty is given, thus it “flicks” her forehead. Amane gets dizzy and falls, in a display of exaggerated childishness—a forehead flick is not enough to knock over a child. The crosses that resemble her eyes in her face are often seen in characters who have been beaten up, and Amane might have suffered physical abuse from being unable to comprehend the commandment (it may seem far-fetched, but an explanation for this will be mentioned later).

1:04~1:07 Amane comes to her senses, and the mascot extends a hand to “help” her up. This is a tactic with the use of praise and punishment, most likely to effectively instill the beliefs into Amane’s system—you punish someone and then praise them to discipline them.

誓います　もういい子になるしかない！ですよ I swear! I’m going to be a good girl now! That’s it!

The lyrics are also kind of sugarcoated. Not only is this a phrase helpless children promise to parents because of the fear of being punished again, but the literal meaning of this is “[I am] wrong! I have no choice but to [obey]!”

1:08: There is a sequence of Amane agreeing and the mascots simultaneously disagreeing. It shows that she’s still having a hard time grasping her beliefs, and may sometimes do things that she thinks is correct, but actually isn’t (at least, according to their commandments).

1:16~1:31: Gozake is introduced, whose corresponding belief according to The Purge March literally means to “give up baseness” (which is the lack of moral principles or bad character). Gozake is known to be a mysterious monk, who seems to be in charge of what seems like a choir along with other animals (believers).

1:32: The last mascot is introduced, Riyone, whose corresponding belief is to “live destiny [as it was written/given unto you].” She is described as a healthy tomboy (all these mascot descriptions are from the MILGRAM Wiki).

1:34~1:51: A faulty light starts to act up—and it is possible that this was a challenge deliberately given to Amane to challenge her beliefs. The robots (feign) surprise/concern, as Amane starts to worry over the injured cat.

1:48~1:51: Riyone suggests to just pray for the cat and not interfere. Whether it heals or dies is up to their “god” and that treating its injury would interfere with destiny.

1:54~2:00: Amane is visibly shaken, starting to question her beliefs, but decides to help the cat in the end, little did she know she’d suffer intense punishment(s).

2:16~2:30: For an agonizing several seconds, we watch as she gets tortured in all different ways, but it’s done in a way that one wouldn’t notice—as if it were a mere comedic effect. Amane gets electrocuted by Riyone, waterboarded by Gozake, physically abused by Yuri, and aurally tortured by Gachata.

How can you tell she is being aurally tortured? Amane has her hands on her ears. It’s possible the method being used on her are bells because a) there are bells resounding throughout the entirety of the sequence and b) there are bells in Gozake’s head.

Amane visibly regrets her actions, and starts questioning why she helped the cat in the first place, forcing to blame herself and to look back at the beliefs being taught to her. Are they right? Did she do the right thing? Should she have done that?

2:32~2:39: Amane is left alone, as she prays for the first time in the entirety of the music video—all the torture she had gone through made her turn to her “god”.

2:40~2:56: She gets rewarded. For what? Enduring her suffering, probably. The spirals in her eyes are the same as the ones from the purge march, showing she has started to apply these commandments in her life. The wand that she waves could be seen as the baton she uses in the purge march—the murder weapon used.

3:21: The footage of the TV show reflects in her eyes. The mascots are gone, and what's left was the stage she used to be in, indicating that she has done it, she has purged evil! :D

If you’re still reading, hi! I’m surprised you’ve stayed this long. I hope you enjoyed reading it, although some of the things were very obvious and already known. I personally would say Amane is innocent—I’m still trying to grasp why people have voted her guilty when the brainwashing was quite obvious. Plus, she’s a mere child. But I suppose that factor could also be something to be suspicious of.

Additionally, Amane thinks that being imprisoned is another trial given to her by God, and she’ll face whatever comes her way. Just like how she was taught. Do what you will with this information. Once again, I hope you enjoyed reading, thank you!
