I don't know how money works so neither will Aphmau. I can't remember who but someone had the idea that she wouldn't understand how current money works since Irene wouldn't be familiar with modern currency systems because of the whole "not really existing for 900+ years" thing and that makes sense so I'm using it as an excuse to not figure out how medieval money works.

Basically, Aphmau nearly burns down Emmalyn's house trying to make breakfast and is kicked out and made to fend for herself if she wants breakfast so badly. Garroth sees this and is like "hey, I'll give u money, go buy something from the bakery over there." Aphmau goes to Kimberly and Sylvia's bakery and Aph gives them the money and is like "this is literally all I have can I get a croissant?" and Kimberly is like "sure that's just enough for a croissant." And now she puts everything in terms of croissants.

Paul is like "hey, wanna by my expensive crops? I have a family" and Aph is like "sure, how much?" and he says some random number and Aph is just like "wow. That could buy so many croissants"

big fan of the john wick movies so far. first of all i'm delighted by how the whole series feels like a chance to explore the world that the writers built in the first one. second of all yes most of the movies are killing and the consequences of cruelty and the cycle of violence but more importantly than all that the movies are actually about kindness and connection and the ways that people love each other and choose to help each other again and again. and also about how much people love their fucking dogs.

hi!!! i wanted to ask you, because i am intrigued by this acronym in your bio — what (or rather, which language) is gbp ? :)

I am so sorry to disappoint you dear mutual, but gbp is the currency code for British poud sterling (the money i use in my everyday life bc im *hopefully temporarily* stuck here on terf island). I was basically making a dumb joke, saying I speak english, turkish, and money. I could've used ytl to be fair (the currency code for turkish lira), but the pound is stronger, so if i end up doing freelance things like writing/editing/proofreading while I live in Turkey, I will probably provide quotes in pounds still (I'm talking about like if someone wants me to proofread on fiverr, not things irl).
