now I was kinda nervous about making this so Enjoy being bros with 8!

Also I'm a beginner at this so don't expect the best

Also I searched on Google and turns out 8's real name in the manga was Hachi so I'll call him that a few times so expect to see it from time to time

Reader is male and is an inkling

●Now your first meeting with 8 was a biiiit complicated...

● it all started when you were taking a bunch groceries back home until you wanted to take the scenic and CLEARLY more dangerous route and thanks to not being careful about your overall safety you fell down a very very very very deep hole along with your groceries

● as you got to your destination ... or should have said fell to your destination you were in a room barely just bright enough to see around yourself, and as you woke up and saw your surroundings

● you of course as you looking around figure ran right beside you and of course you being you you ran after it and sadly lost it but after losing the figure in your sights you heard the sound of ..... munching ?

You walked up to see an empty doorframe with a small trail of food snacks and ingredients leading to an empty hall.

"Helloooo is anyone there?" The munching sound now stopped you slowly walked to the corner curious to know who this person and as you were close to the corner you saw pair of cyan-blue eyes even more curious to know who this stranger is you kept slowly approaching until a random rock slid off and slammed down on your head

"ow!" "AHHHHH!!!" "AHHHHHH!!!" You both screamed your lungs out and you quickly ran to cover hastily panting in fear after that quick panic session you looked back to the corner and as the same cyan-blue eyes again slowly approached the figure

"Um hey "you said gathering the attention of the one tentacle-haired stranger until the stranger's stomach lightly growled you noticed this straight away "Oh! you look hungry " You looked around and saw an apple right beside you "Here have this " you said throwing the apple in the person's direction they instantly grab it from the floor and started to munch down on the red juicy fruit

"here have this as well" You slid him a family-sized pack of chips ahoy they emerged from their hiding spot and it was .... AN OCTOLING !? "Oh! Um hello there what's your name?" You questioned hoping to know who this guy was" Me name 8" he said as he eating a handful of cookie "are you sure cause a number as your name doesn't feel right " you questioned the octoling confused about him being named after the literal number 8

"erm ok, how about this I'll name you Hashi! How about that ?" You said hoping that you would not say 8 for probably over a hundred times "hm Hashi I like it what's your name " the octoling questioned "oh well glad you asked that Hashi my name Is Y/N " You said introducing yourself

●so again your introduction to 8 aka Hashi was slow but straight forward but after that it was cut shirt by a yell and turns out it was Gramps! Aka the leader of the legendary squidbeak splatoon but you just thought he was an old man when you met him and turns out he was chasing after Hachi when he ran off for food

●but turns out you managed to fall nearby into the Deep-sea metro a massive traveling haven for every citizen of Deep undergrounds or for those who wished to go to the promised land ....

● as you three wandered around the Deep-sea metro you saw a strange telephone in the middle of the subway station and it talked like a 90's gangster for some unforseen reason and randomly spat out two telephone looking things , two cards and it named you test subject 10,009 and it was the most strangest thing you ever experienced

● it tasked you to find 4 Thangs throughout the entire Deep-sea metro to reach the promised land and make it back home to the surface but you 8 and cuttlefish knew this was not going to easy at all

● when you entered the train you met the conductor Sea q cumber the first and only operator of Kamabo Corporation you seen around this metro and turns out the Four Thangs were somewhere hidden in different stations

● at every station the train arrived in either you or Hachi would complete them and it was ok work and sometimes Hachi would ask you or Sea q cumber for advice on his next station

●you would show him some cool videos on your phone or let him play some mobile games or let him listen to music which your leftover earpods and there was one Hachi really loved but didn't remember the name

● everything flet like smooth sailing and most of the stations were until a call came from cap n cuttlefish radio had a sudden call and it was an Interesting one to say at least ...

"Mic check one-two who the heck are you!?" A loud voice came from the radio sounding like a rapper's introduction while the top of this radar

"EXCUSE ME!?" Cuttlefish said in pure confusion " Pearl! Didn't anyone teach you to respect your elders?!" Another voice came out this time its radar turned green

"Hwa - ?! Who am I speaking to? Where is Agent 3? State your names!" Cuttlefish said hoping for an answer of these two people

"Uh, I think I asked you first, dude. Anyways I'm Pearl, but you can call me MC Princess !" Pearl said introducing herself

"My deets? I'm short and sweet! I spit that fine make posers perspire."

"Step to my game? I'll bring the pain . "I'm never shook because I'm OFF THE HOOK!" Pearl suddenly turned this awkward radio meeting into a rap battle and some how Cuttlefish was joining in.

"Oho?! Check it kid. Are you stepping to me with a rap battle?" Cuttlefish challenged ready for whatever bars Pearl was about to give him

"MC CRAIG IN THE HOUSE!!" "Call me Cap'n Cuttlefish, but not because I cuddle fish. Smooth like butter bet you wish that you could stunt a flow like this!" They both chanted until the radio was interrupted

"OK , you two ... That's ENOUGH!" Marina stopped the rap battle it was all cut quiet "Mr Cuttlefish , was it? We found a radio here and heard your transmission. "

" We're currently on Mount Nantai. Where are you calling from?" Marina questioned "Mount Nantai... Why that's near Octo Valley !"

The captain realized " Agent 8 and I were near there, but someone seems to have taken us deep underground also Y/N fell into this place here too"

" yep it is REALLY DEEP down here and we're trying to find a way out of this place," You and Cuttlefish said explaining the entire situation to the matter

"I see ... So you,Y/N, and this... Agent 8 don't know where You are? Sorry to hear that..." "but worry not!, you'll have me, Marina-aka DJ-Hyperfresh, supporting you!"

"I'll get to work analyzing your surroundings and hopefully I'll be of some help to you!" Marina reassured hoping that she can get you three out of this place " I don't really get what's going on but hang tight . We got you!"

Ok, well... Anyone who loves rapping is a friend of mine. Thanks for your help!" Cuttlefish thanked the two idols for their assistance

"We're off to pass some sorta tests and make our way to the promised land " Cuttlefish declared "And by "we" I mean you and agent 8! Time to get after it!" Then radio shuted off and fell on its backside

●so turns out that while you three were I'm the train the celebrities of inkopolis square Marina and Pearl called you radio from Mount Nantai and with Marina excellent technology skills and Pearl.... being Pearl you and Hachi managed to get all 4 Thangs throughout the Deep-sea metro

● and with you and 8 you met the wandering isopod iso pardre he was an mysterious dude with good intentions and you liked him for that

● you three gave the Thangs to the strange telephone and its ways of assembling their was ... quite the show I would say. when the three of you entered this strange machine in turns out it was a blender and It was about to blend both of you up into smoothies but luckily agent 3 came crashing down and destroyed the blender but sadly they went unconscious for a while

● so after that wild ride of events Marina realized that there was another way out for you and 8 so a you both super jumped onto your way to the surface and just about to reach onto the final floor you jumped juuusst to low and missed your destination

"DONT WOORY HACHI I'LL MAKE IT BACK JUST GO ON WITHOUT MEEEE"

●as you were falling off to who knows where 8 managed to get up into the spinal phase and he was deeply worried for your safety and your whereabouts but neither less he continued on and hoped that you'd make it back safe

● and as the elevator was rising up to the surface it suddenly stopped and turns out agent 3 was somehow sanitized and attacked agent 8 with no mercy

●he was nearly splatted but you came back just in time and finished the job and saved Hachi

● finally you and 8 managed to make it back onto the surface it was a sight to see and it finally it was the end of you and Hachi's journey ....

● It was not the end of your journey

●turns out that weird telephone got the the weird sanitized blob on him and along the gigantic human statue with a giant weapon on it was going to destroy the entirety of inkopolis with everyone in it so you and 8 worked together to save the square and when the final scream from Pearl finished the giant statue off everything was back to the ways they are....
