Recently I went into the DBS fandom wiki to read about the Goku Black/Future Trunks arc, because I haven't watched DBS past the Tournament of Power and the concept of Goku Black intrigued me so much. I'm so glad I didn't waste my time watching the episodes because Jesus

Goten and Trunks have kept their relationship under wraps for a full year, and still have no intentions of spilling the beans anytime soon. Being the son of an extremely arrogant, Alpha Sayian Prince, Trunks would never be allowed to mate with a "low-life mortal"- he'd undoubtedly be shunned.

Chi-Chi could never fully accept same-sex matings, faithfully believing a bond should occur between a man and a woman. It was bad enough Goten was born Omega... he wasn't sure his traditional mother would love him anymore if news broke he was attracted to both genders.

How did Sotarra, Mirin, and Goten meet Broly? What do they think of him?

✧༺ꔫ༻∞　　∞༺ꔫ༻✧

She met him by coincidence. Sotarra forages for ingredients in the realm of the living for her own practices of potion making and spellcrafting. One day, the Demoness discovered him wreaking havoc near one of her foraging spots. At first, she simply began to observe him. Get him used to her presence and offer him food before stepping away, as non-threatening and careful as one could be when they have a genuine interest in another creature. Sotarra continued to do this until eventually, he allowed her to be close and spend time with him. It then grew as any normal bond does, conversation, sharing meals, and offering support when needed. It then grew into something deeper...

She adores him and has (unofficially) adopted him as her son. She loves him dearly and is largely permissive of his behavior.. however, there are some things that she tries to make him reconsider or think about, such as his relationship with Mirin and help him find purpose in life despite being the strongest thing known in the universe. There is an AU I'm working on where she adopts him as her own when he is very young either due to straight-up kidnapping him from Paragus or his father gets killed/goes missing and he is left without a guardian. She then raises him as a 'demon prince' and teaches him magic, etiquette, and he's doted on by servants, retainers, and his Saiyan anger gets managed in a much more healthy way because mother dearest can hold her own against him or find outlets that don't turn him crazy.

Mirin found him eating from her favorite apple tree and noticed his tail immediately. Despite how often she was punted, shaken about for what food she had stowed away in her clothes, or pushed into a river, for a long time she stuck to him like glue. She was worried about him, but she also very much was intrigued by the fact he was the first creature like her.. human, but with a monkey's tail. Mirin knows little about her own Saiyan heritage and thought he could give her answers... from then, we have different AU's in terms of what she thinks about him:

The Future Will Bear its Fangs: In this AU, she is extremely apathetic and wary of him. Broly went into a jealous rage after his human mate decided to give Mirin attention instead of him.. he gave her the beating of a lifetime, broke her spine, and yeeted her into space before proceeding to burn down and pillage her sacred village. She then joined the time patrol, and grew into someone who could overpower him and beat him back because of the threats that force put her up against. She changed her name to Soju to reflect this. Standard Verse: Where the jealous rage didn't happen, she just sees him as her grumpy big brother and usually tags along with Goten and Trunks to bother him. She often finds herself trying to bury her lil' body inside of his mane, like a nesting instinct takes over.

Goten accidentally stumbled across him while hunting for bugs and lizards and basically has the same backstory and behavior as Mirin.

He likes him but does worry a lot about him because that anger will make him do something he regrets, and Goten doesn't want Broly to lose any more than he probably already has. Sees him as a big brother of sorts, but has no idea about what happened with Mirin in the AU where she defects from the timeline. Goten also uses Broly as a consultant of sorts when he feels conflicted or upset. Not that he doesn't trust Gohan, but he appreciates how Broly is always honest.

‘Leave?’  

The wind highlighted the silence between the two after that resigned request from the larger full-blooded warrior. A handful of panicked screams and smoldering serving as background noise to Goten; attempting to put aside a gut-wrenching sensation of confusion and fear wracking his brain in the aftermath of a, from what his perspective seemed to be, an unprovoked attack.  It didn’t make sense.

‘Why?’ 

Why would Broly just attack the city like that? He’d been on earth for a while now and had come so far compared to when the vicious Saiyan first landed on Earth.  In the moments of passing silence, Goten could feel his heart threatening to beat out of his small chest; his own tail uncurling from beneath his waist and swaying with anxious energy.. he had to remember to breathe. Like his mother and Piccolo taught him in the past...

‘Without our breath, we have no ground to stand on. No room to think in those critical seconds before disaster strikes.’

He took those few seconds to breathe deeply. His belly expanding outward for a moment before he exhaled out from his mouth. After that, Goten could feel his heartbeat slow somewhat, he could feel his body again amidst the uncertain emotions still making themselves present in his heart... at least, he was able to reconnect with himself somewhat and make a decision on what to do next. Whether it was the right one or not had yet to be seen..

A small hand reached forward, taking the still smoking fist of the other’s despite the clearly apparent size difference between the two. Maybe there was more to it than Goten thought.. at the very least, he hoped... the boy dared to have faith in someone he came to see as an older brother after all of the time they had spent together.

Now Goten wasn't exactly sure what these fabled artifacts known as 'Bitch Crystals' were or why they looked like they came from a toy store... but it was the thought that counted! He looked down to try and get a better understanding of what exactly was given to him.

"Not for good girl? Guess it's a good thing I'm not one! I'll find a way to unlock their healing powers and get stronger~"

This was a weird request to be sure... especially since the last few times Goten had asked Broly to come with him and he just... well, let's just say bug hunting became a solo activity for the young hybrid. But, he did seem in a very good mood.. maybe this time it would be fun?

"Yeah, I know where they are! But why do you want to go bug hunting with me? You're not going to just eat them in front of me again are you?"

5. Probably some cool rocks and leaves that he found that he wants to show his brother, Trunks, or Broly because they make him happy.

... He will not say anything but there is a distinctive glare residing in the onyx hewn orbs of his eyes and he will not stray further than several feet at the most away from Goten. Never did his eyes target the youth but it kept a vicious scouting for... 'particular' annoyances that might get a little too close to the idiotic second-born.

Goten had a normal day so far. Though getting ready to go home from school, he could feel something strange nearby. Was that Broly who waited for him outside..? And you mean to say he didn't break down a school wall to get to Goten this time? This defensive energy, it was rare to feel that from Broly nowadays. Did someone get too close to him? Maybe someone he liked..? Maybe he just needed some pseudo-brotherly support?

The teen hurried outside.. and noticed how close the larger Saiyan kept to him. He seemed vigilant... what happened while he was gone?

"Hey.. You good?"

Don't mind the local Brute come to snatch the little dumb baby called Goten.

"Huh?"

Picked up by the scruff of his collar by the large local Brute; Goten had no idea why he was being snatched or where exactly he was going. Only one question wandered into that little head of his.

"Uh... will I be home in time for dinner?"

... Dumb leaf eating baby gets one whole basket of leaves. No, the Brute will not elaborate on why but he drops it and goes to lounge elsewhere. - Broly

Bean is grateful he has lived long enough to receive this gift of the forest from his bigger brother. He holds the basket close and slowly begins to place the foliage in his mouth.

The young hybrid had just arrived home after a long day of shenanigans. Bug catching, helping Trunks gather dragon balls at the request of his mother, and of course catching a meal for the two of them. He enjoyed days like this, moments that reminded him how things don't always have to be chaotic or involve a fight for him to have fun. It seemed as if these kinds of days grew fewer and fewer as he began to pay attention to the world around him.

Coming home, he found a silver letter with his name on the front. Eager hands tore it open to read the note inside.

"Cute? That's nice. I wonder who it was from?"

...well, he couldn't just throw the letter away, so for the moment he stuffed it into the blue wrapping around his waist that served as his belt. He'd make it a point to show his mother when she came back home from her errands. Maybe she could help him figure this little mystery out?

Patron of Promises
