I'm sad to admit I've always been cursed at finishing chapters. Can't tell you how many times I just threw down a gradient over some dialogue and said 'scene'! And half the time the dialogue is bad.

Anyway, "Your Favorite Season" or chapter 2, has officially concluded!

I'm almost completely done drawing up chapter 3, coloring just takes a long time. I know people are wondering what's going on with Simon, but I promise you, the wait will be worth it. Or, I hope it'll be worth it. There's some super important storytelling build up that HAS to happen before Simon returns, and you'll see why, when it happens. He's guaranteed to return in chapter 4, at the very least! And I think you'll like what I got planned.

Also sorry to the Adventure Time tags. I uhhh. I can't stop drawing.

Oh! Also I'm doing two conventions, back to back. Las Cruces comic con this weekend, and Colorado Springs Comic con next weekend! CSCC in particular is a madhouse, and back to back shows are INSANE and a lot of work, so updates will probably be way slower for a little while. I'll probably be drawing pages during my downtime, but coloring takes more focus. That, and the next chapter needs new backgrounds, too.

We'd like to give a heartfelt welcome to everyone who has decided to follow along with us on our journey as Chisholm Student Creative Collective. As this collective is being formed, there is a general understanding that our first game jam will be considered a trial run for us. At the end of this jam, we will perform a self-evaluation and use what we've learnt to determine the viability of this collective. We have our fingers crossed that we go well!

This is the part where we announce that CSCC's first project will make its debut as a submission for Jr's Furry Game Jam 2023. This jam works well for us because the time allotted is generous (an entire month) and there won't be rankings, which is important, considering so far none of us have participated in a game jam before. IJMS, Vol. 24, Pages 16428: Knockdown of Simulated-Solar-Radiation-Sensitive miR-205-5p Does Not Induce Progression of Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma In Vitro

Solar radiation is the main risk factor for cSCC development, yet it is unclear whether the progression of cSCC is promoted by solar radiation in the same way as initial tumorigenesis. Additionally, the role of #miRNAs, which exert crucial functions in various tumors, needs to be further elucidated in the context of cSCC progression and connection to solar radiation. Thus, we chronically irradiated five cSCC cell lines (Met-1, Met-4, SCC-12, SCC-13, SCL-II) with a custom-built irradiation device mimicking the solar spectrum (UVB, UVA, visible light (VIS), and near-infrared (IRA)). Subsequently, #miRNA expression of 51 #cancer-associated #miRNAs was scrutinized using a flow cytometric multiplex quantification assay (FirePlex®, Abcam). In total, nine #miRNAs were differentially expressed in cell-type-specific as well as universal manners. miR-205-5p was the only #miRNA downregulated after SSR-irradiation in agreement with previously gathered data in tissue samples. However, inhibition of miR-205-5p with an antagomir did not affect cell cycle, cell growth, apoptosis, or migration in vitro despite transient upregulation of oncogenic target genes after miR-205-5p knockdown. These results render miR-205-5p an unlikely intracellular effector in cSCC progression. Evaluation of Family Medicine Rehab Programs

Lack of faculty expertise, a dearth of clinical programs devoted to the prevention and treatment of harmful substance use, and insufficient training in family-oriented care all stand in the way of meeting the urgent demand for specialists in the field of addiction medicine to provide family-centered care. This article addresses these issues and offers recommendations for improving the assessment of training in family care.

Train primary care physicians to provide essential substance abuse services through a systemic approach. The purpose is to enhance the effectiveness of care for kids and their families. To that end, we offer a template curriculum for Family Medicine residencies in this paper.

A well-rounded curriculum will make use of a range of teaching and discussion methods. Direct observation and periodic reinforcement of substance abuse concepts would be used to document clinical competency as part of the curriculum. The concept of family systems would also be included.

The course material, meanwhile, has to be developed as web-based modules. Residents who were unable to go to conferences might still participate. The curriculum as a whole would benefit from this as well. Several interventions may be used in tandem with the curriculum. Care for families who have both low-functioning members and multiple needs can be enhanced through initiatives like Cross-System Care Coordination (CSCC).

A comprehensive strategy is required to diagnose and treat the issue. Prescription drug monitoring systems, behavioral treatment, and the education of medical professionals on substance use problems all fall under this category. Overdoses from opioids can be avoided if more people have access to naloxone. Fentanyl, a synthetic opioid, has also seen an increase in its user base. Thousands of lives have been lost to the opioid epidemic, but it has also motivated doctors to adopt a more proactive approach to treating the disease.

Clinical programs that aim to prevent and treat drug abuse in families are being evaluated according to standards established by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM). Professionals can use the ASAM gold standard criteria to assess a patient's severity of substance abuse and plan treatment accordingly.

There is still a significant knowledge gap between scientists and doctors when it comes to addiction, despite recent scientific and academic advances. There are effective treatments for drug use problems, but many doctors lack the training to provide them. Therefore, medical professionals and their methods of therapy are having less of an effect. This is a major issue for public health.

Several encouraging training programs have appeared around the world. Each of these programs has been created to educate future addiction specialists. Integration of evidence-based practices into training initiatives has been shown to boost the efficacy of specialized treatment programs. Substance abuse treatment like this is also linked to vastly improved health outcomes for those who suffer from SUD. These procedures are often performed in outpatient clinics or hospitals.

Include cultural competence instruction as an elective in programs that teach people how to care for families who are struggling with addiction. As a result, residents will have a better grasp of cultural norms and be better equipped to meet the diverse needs of their patients. This is especially crucial for doctors who may not feel adequately trained to deal with patients who suffer from addiction.

Curriculums in addiction medicine were analyzed at family medicine residency programs throughout the United States. In addition, it analyzed the challenges that educators face while trying to create new lessons. Both the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and the Family Medicine Residency Review Committee have established training guidelines that the authors were able to locate. Based on Project MAINSTREAM's criteria for competency in the treatment of substance abuse, they created a curriculum consisting of eight separate modules. Assuming a standard three-year residency in family medicine, a curriculum is an acceptable option.

Both the students and the teachers enjoyed this course. Many students saw this as a chance to learn something new and were inspired to continue their studies. Nonetheless, a few pupils voiced concerns that the curriculum needed to be widened. As a result, several attendees voiced their opinion that we may benefit from inviting additional speakers. Other students found there to be a more welcoming environment that facilitated conversation.

It's not simple to get the word out to locals that drug abuse is harmful. To educate their residents about the relative merits of various substances, residency programs have developed formal curricula. However, it is difficult to fit such a curriculum into a full-time residency program.

There is a link between addiction training and residency location, according to research published in the NCHS Data Brief. According to the research, addiction medicine curricula are more common in residency programs that have DEA-X licenses. There wasn't enough data to conclude that the two were indeed linked. This topic was covered in one of two omnibus polls conducted by CERA.

To maintain accreditation with the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), residency programs must show that they offer clinical rotations and other forms of hands-on experience. It also necessitates that training programs show how they have adapted their curricula based on data to better prepare medical residents for practice.
