This beautiful gifset made me think something which may be obvious to point out but I feel is worth highlighting,

Charles is wearing Edwin's hero colour blue, rather than his hero colour red, which maybe foreshadows his friendship with Edwin after death, but more importantly, represents how he hasn't yet found his place in fate

Here you can see he's so certain of his responsibility to protect and it hits me that this really doesn't change between his death and life

Because Charles has always been the protector, his instincts have always been to put himself in front of people to keep them from danger, his death didn't change this

And this was developed from the times Charles was abused by his dad and as he lay beaten on the floor, with only his own shaky hand between him and his father there to shield himself, he longed for someone to be there to stand up for him

Therefore when he sees someone in danger, helpless, cowering on the floor from their tormentor, he knows his place is between them and the attacker, shielding the victim so that they might not have to go through what he endured. So that they have the protector Charles never had.

He may not have found the dead boy detectives yet, but Charles was always and will always be a protector

MAN this asks just been sitting around in my inbox because ive been racking my BRAIN thinking of things id include in a single extra episode.

like i bet i could come up with an extra scene here and there just for flavor. i even think i could think up some cool ideas for a potential s2. but season 1 is pretty much solid, narratively??

one thing id really like to see in s2 would definitely be monty. we need that bird back. and ive heard some ideas they had for s2 about cryland, catwin, and a payneland fight? which i think all works perfectly together to create some fucking Drama. im payneland for life, but i think id LOVE to see them get worse before they get better. like, charles and edwin are somehow both extremely good and extremely bad at communication, and i wanna see that shit crash and burn. and THEN they fix it and its payneland endgame :)

BEFORE & AFTER COLOURING CHALLENGE

A small eternity ago, @mellxncollie and @stark-lord tagged me to do this before and after colouring challenge. It's taken me forever, but I finally did something! Olly's post can be found here, and Scout's is here- go take a look, they do absolutely amazing things!!!

I've been changing up my process again recently, so I decided to do a timestamp roulette for it, so that I could practice on different scenes. Here's the gifs without the before and after.
