i think my favorite moment from all three games is the termite speech in VLR (though it has many close contenders, such as "He knew because I knew" in 999 and "It was you, Delta" in ZTD). as i said when i first got to it, it's probably the most human-positive "humans are like insects" speech i've ever seen, and i really like that combo. less "humans are like insects in that we are weak and pathetic" and more "humans are like insects in that we construct things that, though beyond us, are beautiful."

like. we may not know what we make. we may not be able to glimpse more than a small part of it. we may not understand that it is anything exceptional. but, still, it is tremendously beautiful.
