several of the birds from birds of america are unidentified today. In order, Cuvier's Kinglet, the Carbonated Warbler, the Small-headed Flycatcher, the Blue Mountain Warbler, Bartram's Vireo, and Townsend's Bunting:

I think, for the future, when it comes to cryptid hunting I'm like. I'm going to have my own house (preferably a nice little cabin/cottage near the woods) but im also going to have a trailer.

like, when I do decide to go cryptid hunting/exploring (which wouldn't be too often, but still something I do) I can just. pack the essentials (like things in the fridge, for example), as well as make sure things are turned off+unplugged and go off.

also I'm definitely getting a shit ton of weird/cryptidy looking stuff, mainly for the trailer. like, lots of well known cryptid stuff, including souvenirs ofc, but also just things that are funky creatures. along the lines of the double mouthed cat planter I saw via the lesser known cryptids blog. I think that'd be neat! also a book to record any findings or strange occurances (I could guess most of which would end up being jotted down in my phones notes app)

so chewing on cryptidzoology and how its morphed to be exclusively mythical and strange creatures which makes people forget the very real facts that the Okapi used to be a cryptid and how the Thylacine went extinct because of it's cryptid status.

like its a actual category of animal and yeah the weird ones are in it but also everyone acting like animals have to be strange to be cryptids both ignore that fact that the Madagascan pygmy hippopotamus used to be a cryptid. it was an animal we couldn't prove existed until we found bones of it and science progressed enough for us to DNA match it (or in this case not match it to anything).

anyway Mothman is a cryptid which means he is a species of large humanoid moths and if we don't act rather than being proven to exist like the okapi they will go extinct like the madagascan pygmy hippo or WORSE there is only one mothman left and it will be male and we would know nothing about it and would simply have to watch as it dies of old age like the thylacine.

He questioned lightly. It didn't bother him in the slightest that they were talking about the two creatures like someone would an wolf or a coyote. The young man's shy look pushed Arynn to give him a softer smile.

"Hey, it wasn't lame at all. Now I'm going to be questioning Yeti's and Bigfoot for a while." He joked lightly. "Definitely more interesting than if you said you were a cop." He added.
