This episode of spyxfamily literally almost killed me. 😂
I was eating during this scene---
Becky said that and I choked!
This episode was hilarious.
Yor got isekai'd
Yor and Anya are too funny, i never know what to expect with them.
Her face this whole episode. If it wasn't for the promise of a personal chef I think Anya would have just stayed in her room the entire episode.
Then there's poor Loid.
He can't catch a break.
I want him drawn like this for the rest of the show.
Despite his distress at everything Yor does he still never questions her. Gotta love him for that.

🕯Here lies the Jawlines🕯
🕯of the main cast of🕯
Kaiju No. 8
One Like = One candle in memoriam for those character designs lost in the animation translation
THAT BEING SAID.
HOLY SH*T!!!!! ITS HERE!!!!! KAIJU NUMBER 8!!!! LETS F*CKING GOOOO!!!!!!!!
I also want this to be a warning/ call-out post and addresses two major things that I think people are going to have a problem with.
1) I get it. The Character design wasn't what we asked for. I don't know who thought it was a good idea to get the guy who did Naruto and give him the reigns over character design, but they should of given that another few seconds more thought. (I guess they picked him because he's kinda famous and they wanted some of that "Big Three" luck to rub off on this?) But that doesn't mean that the show would be judged on this alone. The animation seems to be big budget Fluidtm for most of the shots and we might be getting some expositional filler/ big ticket action sequences to flesh out the story more than it does in the manga. I, for one, look forward to them ( hopefully) adding on to the training montages because they don't really feel as important as I think they should be in the story. We could also have been living in a time line where this never got animated in the first place sooo..... there's that.
2) To those of you who have no idea what Kaiju No. 8 is and are only watching it because everyone keeps telling you "Oh, Its just like Attack on Titan." And you are looking for something similar to fill the void, DO NOT get it in your head that this is anything more than "Get Strong, Fight Monster, Repeat." This sounds like an insult, but it isin't. Kn8 is a very simple show and that should be its biggest appeal for it. Ya'll spent 11 years watching an intense political thriller disguised as a monster fighter. This is supposed to act as a palette cleanser and filler untill something more complex decides to air. Like a piece of pickled ginger after sushi. Something simple, bright, and exciting that you don't have to think about too much.
I see so many people say that the manga is falling off and I'm sitting like "Yes it lacks a little in the sustenance department, but you came for monster fights... are you not still entertained?" I just think people are going to come into this with higher expectations than normal, thinking this is going to ride off the coattails of a very well loved/vaguely hated franchise that set a high bar for anything that might come after it and I don't want people to walk out of this fandom thinking its just a cheap imitation. Its Bromance and Monster Blood. That is it, nothing more, and that's why its good.
Thats it for this disclamer. Hope y'all enjoy the opening of this Homoerotic I mean, bromantic rendition of Pacific Rim, filled to the top with lovable characters, heartfelt moments, and intense action.

Dragon Blog DAIMA #31: True Strength
It's the final AniMonday of 2024, Ticketholders!
Dragon Ball DAIMA closed out the year with its best episode yet, going even further beyond what the "Tamagami" episode had to offer in terms of animation, personality, and spectacle.
Also, I talk about the lost potential of Buu as a family man, how much Neva really knows, and DAIMA's thematic fixation on belts.
Enjoy!

KNIGHTS OF THE ZODIAC: SAINT SEIYA REVIEW
The Netflix/Crunchyroll Saint Seiya remake is inferior to the original show but that goes without saying. Sure, the later two seasons adapt stuff from the manga but the first season just swapped out old filler for new, movie inspired filler and/or changes such as Seiya getting his house raided and his sister abducted, Kido still being alive, the Galaxian Wars being Fight Club, Kido having an old partner named Vander Guraad (what kind of name is that?), Knights vs Guraad's military task force and eventually Guraad himself, etc.
You could tell me this shit aired on Nickelodeon in 2014 and I would've believed you. The artstyle looks....alright in stills but the animation leaves much to be desired...oh, and for some reason the lip animation is done to match the English voices, not that you can tell. This whole thing looks like a game that doesn't exist...but should, considering we haven't had a real Saint Seiya game since Soldiers Soul back in 2015.
The name changes in the English version are wholly unnecessary...a couple names are even borrowed from past dubs such as the Italian version or the DiC dub. I refuse to use the new names when discussing this show bc it's confusing and I'm still confused hearing these new names. Damn that Eugene Son...speaking of which...
...I don't hate Fem!Shun as much as I should but destroying the mask rule also destroyed Shaina's arc that I loved so much in the original as she no longer wears a mask and opts for glam metal facepaint inspired by her mask.
I can't speak for the writing, because I have the media literacy of a fucking rock...moving on.
The music is generic cinematic garbage; Ike's Sonic X stuff was better. The Struts' cover of Pegasus Fantasy slaps though, and even if the ending song is just a licensed track from their album YOUNG&DANGEROUS, I like it....would've preferred some 80s pop relic covering Forever Blue, but...
This show has as much cultural relevance as my YouTube channel does, which is none whatsoever. Nobody gave a fuck. The US audience ignored it bc Netflix sucks at marketing. Our neighbors to the south balked at Shun getting the R63 treatment and the elements pulled from early movie scripts...and Netflix's initial choices for casting Seiya and Hyoga in the LatAm Spanish dub. Crunchyroll allowed Toei to finish what they started and then they cranked out a couple more seasons completing the Sanctuary arc...and probably the show too. There may be a post credit scene but that Poseidon arc has as much chance of happening as this franchise catching on in the States: never.
4.8/10 Venezuelan fans of Los Caballeros del Zodiaco could make something better.

Case Closed Episode 95 Review
The Scenic Japanese Mountains! Perfect For Gathering Killers! This time out we have a kinda sorta who dunnit. Thing is we have more than one kill… And more than one murderer. Also hey! It’s also with a young girl who died in the wrong place at the wrong time! So yay… An actual normal death. This show has so few. Does from depression fueled suicide, malpractice, greed, this. Yeah well just…

I love the lost god episode. He clearly once had a shrine and gave off a powerful enough aura that it unsettled all the other Anothers. I liked watching them search the city for a new place for him to live, although it felt like that took up a little too much of the episode. Ending with them going to a traveling museum exhibit for his culture and installing him in one of the statues, so that the exhibit is his shrine and he still gets to explore new places, was a very cute ending
I do think they should've thought of the honey thing first. Arata said he'd look for clues about this guy's heritage, but it never showed him doing that. It seems obvious to me that finding out which honey rings a bell to a spirit that only eats honey might help narrow it down pretty fast
#looks like this was the last episode of the series#but there are three OVAs on crunchyroll#so i'll watch those before doing a full review#midnight occult civil servants

🌀 **Re:Zero** 🌀
🌀 Re:Zero 🌀
All I can say is that I tried. I know I tried to watch this anime I would say around a year ago and I just could not get into it. I stuck with my 3–4-episode rule and felt that this story was about to get very repetitive (as far as the dying and coming back to life aspect of the show).
Although I feel like this anime isn’t for me, I keep hearing great things about it, people claim that Re:Zero is the best isekai ever, I don’t get it. 🤔🔄
I must give it another try, if the people are claiming that this anime is the best isekai ever, meaning it is better than my favorite isekai (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, PUT SOME RESPECT ON RIMURU’S NAME!) I must be the judge. I did the same thing when people claimed that One Piece is better than Naruto, I determined after 155 episodes there is no way that is true.
So come with me on this Re:Zero journey and I will give my honest opinion, after every 2-4 episodes. 📺👀

Name: A Galaxy Next Door
Rating 4.3/5
Can it be watched casually: yes
A Galaxy Next Door is a romance anime about a young star princess who goes out on her own for the first time from her home island. She leaves to pursue both her freedom, and her love of drawing manga. She eventually becomes the love interest's art assistant, and they fall in love after. This anime was definitely a cute one, the fantasy is not so in your face, and a lot of the themes throughout the series were very sweet. It does touch a on loss and grief a little, but it also touches on learning to accept help, learning what love is, and more. Though I thought it was very good, I think the ending was a little... off? The whole series kind of leads up to a conflict with her parents, as her mother doesn't want her to be away from the island, and disapproves of the relationship. And then they agree to give her another year away from the island... and then theres a festival episode and that's it. There's not really any more talk about the whole extra year thing, just a festival episode where she says she wants to stand on her own two feet and propose to her boyfriend. I do think the whole plot with her being a star princess was interesting, though the expansion on that felt a little lacking in my opinion.

Digimon Adventure was my first anime obsession. You know how people recount memories of doing the Kamehameha or Sailor Moon transformations? For me, It was the digivolution tags. 25 years later, Bandai blessed us with Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning.
If my multiple social media posts throughout the year weren't an indication. (Follow us on Instagram and Twitter) I was super excited to watch this movie and it did not disappoint. I had a blast. It felt like I was 11 years old again. Sitting in my bedroom, zoned out without a care in the world. For nostalgia's sake, I watched it in English dubbed, and hearing some of the OG cast made me so happy. The voices were so good for newer cast members that I almost didn’t notice a difference.

Dragon Blog DAIMA #30: Legend
Happy AniMonday, Ticketholders!
Dragon Ball DAIMA is "so back," and in my review for Friday's "Legend" episode, I tackle plot inconsistencies, the character symbolism of the Tamagami fights, the possibility of a lost Majin, and a bit of wild theorizing about just how much Neva is really impacting the story.
Enjoy!
