I wanted to try some simple pattern making and so I started with the Void Cat! I’m probably going to experiment with the shapes and sizes of this one guy for some time just to see what I can get, and then filter my notes into a useable pattern! Honestly, the potential for making it into Toothless is so there….

psssstt whoever said they were gonna wait for a secondhand rug hooking tool in tags I've been using a cheapie set of crochet hooks from amazon and they've been working perfectly fine with yarn : O

Brought the Eternal WIP/End of the Yarn Rug 2 out to play and she’s getting a decent size however The Math remains…. Not Mathing folks…. do I care all that much? Not really as we’re mostly ok except from the one bastard wrinkle which is just going to have to become a pleat next round. Hazards of winging it!

I do love how I can use this to chart all the things I’ve worked on in the past: here’s the leftovers from my colleague’s Halloween witch back when I worked in the fabric store, there’s the sparkly red leftovers from mountains of charity poppies, here’s the weaving frenzy that led to Too Many Scarves, there’s the last bits of tinsel yarn I was given as a gift that I’ve been using as Christmas twine (because I won’t sully myself with it anywhere else) all becoming one tapestry of the last four years of my life, still currently as tiny rug status.

She is becoming too big for her box though….

These were pretty easy to create. How about some Thunderbird or Captain Scarlet ones?

Made myself a little one-man picnic rug for the upcoming festival! It’s not waterproof or anything so I’ll only be able to use it if it’s dry, but the moss stitch means it’s pretty thick and durable!

Pattern: A simple moss-stitch flat square (I used Blossom Crochet’s tutorial), with the additions like the strap and clasps improvised

Yarn: Main body is James C Brett Marble Chunky - MC32, the rest is a hodge-podge of various navy blues! Gotta love stash-busting, hehe
