Sparkly pink rose!
This is my "we're doing training and it's boring" work project. I'm not sure how many I'll end up making, but I have a whole cake of the Red Heart Roll With It Sparkle (this color is called Pixie) and a whole lot of time on my hands. More progress as the day goes on.
I think I might make some plain squares in the border color (Lion Brand Heartland in "Wolf Trap", which is not a great name for that pale pinky gray) and alternate them with the roses. Not sure who this will go to, but I think I can at least do a baby-size blankie!
The pattern I'm using is Purple Rose by Lisa Hooper, although you can see I kind of did my own thing once I turned it into a square. I mostly just needed the pattern to remind me how to make the rose part and get things squarified. Then I just did two rounds of basic granny stitch. I don't think this even needs a border (on the squares, I mean).

I have in my possession a tangled pile of different yarns that I have finally decided to deal with. Because simply untangling everything would be a pain, I'm simply working directly from it. Barely made a dent, but hopefully I'll have used up the maroon and black in it soon, at least.

The promised second set of crochet top ideas. I drew these along with the other set a while back but wasn't convinced so I sat on them for a while until I forgot about them, oops.
So here, Blaze the cat shrug, Amy Rose halter top, and Rouge the bat granny square (or c2c?) tube top. There's a heart top out there that looks a lot like Rouge's chest plate as well if you feel like checking that out :)
I also physically made a shadow vest that i have not drawn, but i can draw it later on if anyone wants some inspo :]

I lieu of October coming up, how would some of the resident evil characters spend Halloween with the reader? ♡♡♡
𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗬 𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗗 𝗛𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗢𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗡 ✧.*
┇LEON S. KENNEDY┇CARLOS OLIVEIRA┇ETHAN WINTERS┇ ┇CLAIRE REDFIELD┇ASHLEY GRAHAM┇ADA WONG┇ content: SFW! Ada's part is slightly suggestive! a/n: thank you for the request! I had problem with some of these for a while, but with halloween around the corner i found the festive vibes for this!! hope you enjoy, dear! thank you for requesting again!! « masterlist┇reblogs appreciated! »
Tumblr media
LEON S. KENNEDY
Leon doesn't usually dress up. It's out of the way for him to do so usually. But he can be bribed with a good meal and hug.
Old man thinks he's too cool to enjoy Halloween. But he actually really enjoyed dressing up in his low budget vampire suit from the discounted section of a Halloween store.
This is the only time in the year he would slick back his hair with gel in spite of how you think it looks really good on him, framing his features and accentuating his blue eyes. He is very stubborn and likes his hair down.
Now he wears the same costume every year. So much that you're getting really sick of it. He insists that it makes him look good (and it does)
He tries to act cool, but he hates horror movies. When you are watching it together, his hand will be clasping your arm tight, shaking a little.
"Are you sure you don't want to watch something else?" You would ask, and he would respond with: "Pfft. Me? I'm not scared at all."
Tumblr media
CLAIRE REDFIELD
Halloween is Claire's favourite holiday! She LOVES it.
And so does the kids in her neighbourhood. She always has a huge smile on her face with trick or treaters, will compliment everyone's costumes and give away extra treats.
I see her going all out for Halloween parties. She learnt SFX makeup and a bit of sewing so that her costumes and make-up are really scary.
Which is a stark contrast with her brother, Chris. He thinks dressing up is a chore and a waste of time. When he does dress-up, it's always in uniform (e.g. firefighter, cop). He thinks it makes him look cool. (He's not wrong but, what is up with Chris and uniforms?)
Already planned out her costumes for the next five years (Ideas keep changing too). She definitely wishes there are more days in Halloween because she has so many ideas.
Tumblr media
CARLOS OLIVEIRA
Carlos is a menace during Halloween.
In no way is Carlos the best at making costumes or doing scary make-up, but Carlos is very creative.
Years ago, Carlos disguised himself as a stuffed doll sitting on the porch. Gave all the kids the fright of their life. He will watch them scram away in fear, and bellows a laugh. (traumatising kids is his favourite pasttime)
Another year, he devised a mechanism that springs up a shadowed figure anytime someone rings his doorbell.
He became infamous in his neighbourhood for his antics, and it's now an attraction for both kids and grown-ups every Halloween.
I also see him and Claire becoming really good friends from their united love for Halloween!
Tumblr media
ASHLEY GRAHAM
I headcanon Ashley to crochet, so with Halloween coming, I see her crocheting a spooky themed sweater top, or a granny square bag to embrace the season.
I think Ashley loves to host Halloween parties. With the size of her dad's house, she can accomodate a lot of friends. Often going over the top with themes and decorations.
This year's theme is Harry Potter. She custom ordered a 3 metre (10 feet) tall animatronic of a Dementor in her party and everyone loved it!
She also loves bingeing spooky movies during Halloween. Ashley loves horror movies so much! I don't see her screaming at horror movies, she has grown an immunity to them from watching too many.
Tumblr media
ETHAN WINTERS
We already know Ethan has meticulously planned for Halloween almost a month in advance just for Rose.
He is determined to make Rose experience the best childhood, and that includes Halloween too.
Ethan loves matching costumes (would never admit it though), especially with Rose and you too.
When he finishes dressing up Rose, he snaps a million pictures of her, claiming he will show it to Rose when she's all grown up. And Rose will say "Dad, I don't want to take any more photos. The treats are gonna run out!"
Very protective. If anyone has a scary costume, he will steer Rose away from the scary man. Same for people who are underdressed, or is just generally creepy. Not on his watch.
Tumblr media
ADA WONG
Halloween is not Ada's cup of tea. She goes out of her way to avoid going out during these days.
For trick or treaters, she leaves a candy bowl on her porch for kids to help themselves. Ada enjoys seeing the silly costumes the kids wear, but she despises interacting with them.
If you are special to Ada, she will put on a sexy Halloween outfit in the privacy of your quarters just for you. She won't take responsibility for whatever you guys might do afterwards. But those are just for your eyes only.
Ada watches horror movies with a blank face. At this point, nothing phases her anymore. I think she'll find them boring and slightly frustrating, with the stupid things the protagonists do to get themselves in danger. She rather watch true crime instead.

Another beautiful granny square designed by Lettice Rose on Ravelry. Serpent Star is based on a serpent starfish! Find the free crochet pattern here.
"I found one of these little creatures on the beach last summer, and was blown away by the beautiful design on the body, and the segmented legs. Amazing."

rules: tag nine people you want to get to know better
Tagged by @indrid-hot - thanks a bunch!
Favorite Color: A nice, warm, sunny orange - but also honestly most other colors of the rainbow and then some.
Currently Reading: The Tevinter Nights Dragon Age short story collection.
Last Song: L'appuntamento - Ornella Vanoni
Last Movie: Ah, gosh. HM. I haven't watched anything that's not a TV show in a while. I semi-voluntarily caught the last fifteen minutes of Scrooged over the winter holidays I guess?
Last Series: Last series I watched any part of is, as always, "Emergency!" because I will never not be stuck in 70's paramedic hell. If we're talking new-to-me shows, a friend's making me watch Grey's Anatomy (early seasons) once a week, probably because observing my growing despair about the characters' poor life choices is fun. I don't even normally watch medical shows, and yet here we are lol
Sweet, Savoury, Spicy: Savory if I had to pick
Craving: Some good spaghetti with olive oil and obscene amounts of lightly toasted garlic.
Tea/Coffee: Yes please, lol
Currently working on: OH BOY WHAT A QUESTION.
Spinning: Gotland on my spindles (4-ply, one single per spindle, for funsies - except I accidentally mixed up which bits of fiber go with which single on which spindle, so that'll be fun to sort out...), 7oz/200g of red Merino on the wheel (for a crochet hat, followed by 9.5 oz of red and black Merino for a woven scarf). But also 24.5oz/700g of grey Merino. And cotton on the supported spindle. And I've got some laceweight viscose on the mini turkish spindle that I should really work on...
Crocheting: Half a dozen things, including a lacy collar that needs buttons and blocking, a gigantic star-shaped wrap-around shawl, an incredibly boring granny square top for my little sister, and too many others to count.
Art: The Emergency! tarot as the eternal never-ending WIP; I also have some Dragon Age Veilguard related plans revolving around the Grand Necropolis and irl Catacomb Saints and I'd love to get some DA-style tarot cards done for all my player characters.
Writing: I still have a couple unfinished fanfics that need another chapter, as well as two deeply self-indulgent OC/Emergency! crossovers that friends are making me write, and I also have some Dragon Age stuff in the works - though if anyone will ever see that is another question entirely.
Music: Practicing various stuff for LARP; also slowly chipping away at Hozier's Work Song because my partner asked nicely.
With no pressure, I will tag: @geminyde, @caseyscraftycorner, @swords-n-spindles, @alpacazappa, @rosesonneptune, @rose-of-pollux, @zooarchaeologyatdinner, @kalikatze aaaaand I can't decide on a 9th person to tag so whoever wants to do this: You're It!

Been working with Tegridy these past couple of weeks!!!!! This took forever to finish - so many ends to weave in lmao. I'm so glad it's done though.
I kind of posted about the Tegridy Farms blanket here like last night, but figured since it's actually done now you all deserved some pictures, alongside a repost of my notes on making it. I really love the overall vibe of the colours and composition and I like to hope that I captured some of that here.
Notes regarding yarn, sizing etc. from previous post for completion's sake under the cut:
My color choices aren't a 1:1 match with the ones in the show. I would still argue them as "realistic" versions allowing for the saturation of coloring on the BG in the show, but YMMV and gatekeeping my technically incorrect choice would be beyond silly. I just really like making stuff I see in cartoons.
I basically tried to make this thing roughly to scale with the one in the show though, as others I saw worked single strands of DK yarn, resulting in a really small blanket.
I did some math by measuring the heights of a square of the blanket and the couch on the screencap given above and cross-referencing it with the average height of a couch (regarding my formal diagnosis and to quote tiktok, "I have this thing, it's AUTISM"). The result was each square measuring approximately 13-15cm iirc.
I just used a basic granny square layout with this method on regular DK yarn with a 7mm crochet hook to work the squares into the ideal size. They sat at just over 15cm and I somehow only just had enough of the gray yarn. I imagine from what we see that the blanket is 7x7 squares with the others hanging off the back out of sight, so I made 42 squares in total.
Most of the yarn (except the white which was just some salvaged stuff) was Aldi UK's seasonally stocked "So Crafty" acrylic Double Knit yarn, so I was certainly sweating bullets re: if I even had enough (not sure how easy substitutes would have been). Color names are Wheat, Grass, Rose Garden, and Gun Metal.
Technically the cushions are also achievable in crochet - they would use c2c (corner to corner) and I think that's 100% the intent in their design due to the blocky/pixelated appearance of the images. There's plenty of charts for images like those, but making your own would work too. I would definitely like to hear from whoever on the design team chose to put these in the BG and if they were inspired by something or someone, since with the cushions especially it feels weirdly specific to me to use crochet in like 2017 for the "homely and rustic weed farmhouse" vibe I imagine Randy trying to force here. Based on eyeballing it and my square sizes, I'd aim for a 30cm² cushion maybe.

Say It With Flowers
Tumblr media
(Dieter x horror loving female)
Words: 1, 191
Summary: your relationship with Dieter explained through the language of flowers
My entry for Jett’s Flora and Fauna challenge!
Warnings: hints to abusive past, lots of adorable fluffy stuff, so many flowers!
Check out masterlist here
The applause was triumphant, even from the safety of backstage where you were currently hiding. It was better to stay far away from the wings in case Dieter felt the need to pull you on stage. The relationship was still new, so you didn’t want to be subjected to questions by the interviewer.
You gave a little wave as he almost ran up to you. “Hey, honey cakes.”
He moved to kiss you but then noticed the throng of people. Opening the door to his dressing room, he gestured you inside.
“My girlfriend will take off my makeup,” he shut the door behind him. “And anything else you want.”
You smiled off his flirtations as you were distracted by all the colourful bouquets spread around the room.
“That’s a lot of flowers. Are you going to take them all home?”
“Oh, no, they’ll be sent to old folks’ homes.”
“Really?”
“My abuela always loved getting flowers so I’d like to make some other abuelas happy.”
“The more I learn about you Dieter,” you wrapped your arms around him. “The more I fall in love with you.”
He tried to hide his blush, “Do you want any before they go? I know Valentines is a bad time for flowers, but is flowers in general going to trigger you?”
“I don’t know. I’ve never really been given flowers in earnest. It was always this thing which I now know is called love bombing.”
Dieter sighed in sympathy, “Oh yeah, that’s happened to me often. It was always with some trinket and a big fancy bunch of flowers.”
“I only ever got the saddest bunch from the petrol station.”
“He couldn’t even put in the effort? What sort of flowers did he get you?”
“I don’t know the names of flowers,” you looked around and pointed to some that looked familiar. “Those ones I think.”
“Yellow carnations?” he sucked his teeth and shook his head. “Oh, those are a bad sign.”
“They are?”
“Yeah, in floriography they mean disappointment.”
“What-a-what-graphy?”
“Floriography. Have you seen my film As the Petals Fall?” you shook your head. “Me neither. All I remember from the film was the floriography, or the meaning of flowers.”
“Was it a romance?”
“There was a dead body, so I don’t think so.”
“Oh, I may watch that. So you wouldn’t give me those?”
“Fuck no, I’d only give you flowers with a positive message,” he moved over to a bouquet and pulled out some small white flowers. “This is baby’s breath, it’s usually a filler for bouquets but it means everlasting love which I hope we’ll have.”
“Well, if you’re the ones giving me these, I might grow to like flowers.”
*****
And you did.
He would always leave you a single flower but with this singularity came a meaning that was so deep and profound. As your smile reminded him of sunshine he offered you a yellow tulip. After the first time the two of you made love, he gave you blossoms of the sweet pea as it meant blissful pleasure and thanks for a lovely time. He expressed his continued passion for you through a red tulip. Whenever he was away, you knew he was missing you as he’d send a pink camelia meaning he was longing for you, or the red carnation meant his heart was aching for you.
Christmas gave him the excuse to get out the mistletoe, not just because it was a romantically cheesy tradition, but it meant love and friendship.
Once he rediscovered his love for yarn craft, he would crochet anything with flowers so his messages of love could have a more permanent medium. He mostly made granny squares with daisies or roses, the classic expressions of love and now you wore them as a cardigan or carried it as a tote bag.
When you moved in, he gave you a sprig of small holly blossoms as they symbolised domestic happiness, it was hard to find but he found the small white blossoms. He gave you a carnation for your first anniversary and then again for your first wedding anniversary.
“Now, the rose,” he held out the single flower to you. “A red rose is a symbol of love. A single rose means love at first sight, two means love and affection.”
“So the more you add, the more you love me?”
“Well, 15 means sorry, so go with 12 or 24.”
“Oh,” you gasped. “All those flowers you gave me on Valentine’s…”
“Don’t worry about that. I’m sure someone got a better use out of them.”
*****
And he continued to pass on his knowledge.
Clara gasped at the display of colour. “Wow! So much colour!”
“I know, we have a lot of choice. Now,” he kneeled down. “Do you know why I get flowers for mummy?”
“Cause they pretty and she pretty?”
He couldn’t help but smile, “That’s exactly right. But also, every flower has a special meaning to them, like a secret code.”
“A secret code?” he nodded, and she clapped her hands in excitement.
He picked her up and proceeded to point of various flowers. “Red roses mean ‘I love you’, pink carnation means ‘I’ll never forget you’ and yellow pansy means ‘thinking of you’.”
“Audrey two: I eat you!”
“I don’t think they have any of those today,” she pouted so he continued to explain every flower and its meaning.
*****
“Honey cakes, we’re home!”
Dieter took off his crocs and Clara followed taking off her little crocs. You almost couldn’t see her behind the huge bouquet of flowers she was carrying.
“Oh wow pumpkin, look at all those flowers!” you managed to take the petaled gift from her before she fell over from the weight.
“Wait, secret code!”
“Did daddy teach you?”
“Every flower!”
She almost jumped up on the couch as she was eager to tell you what she had learned. She couldn’t remember the names of the flowers, but she remembered their meaning.
Pointing at each one in the bouquet, she recited, “I love you; I love you; I love you!”
“That’s a lot of ‘I love you’s’!”
“I love you lots, mummy.”
“I love you lots, pumpkin!”
“Now cupcake,” Dieter reached into his crocheted tote bag. “I have a flower for you.”
“For me?”
“Yes,” she reached out for the single white flower, wrapped so lovingly. “This pink rose means happiness because you and mummy both make me happy.”
She hugged it close, giggled out a blush and ran off to show her toys.
“She’s going to love getting flowers.” You got out a vase and started filling it with water. Dieter got something else out of his bag and hid it behind his back.
“Dieter, I don’t think I could fit anymore flowers in this vase.”
“Oh, I don’t have a flower for you.”
“You don’t?”
He shook his head. “Is there a secret language for cheese?”
“Cheese? I don’t think so, why?”
“Well,” he held out a small wheel of cheese to you. “I couldn’t find a flower that says ‘I love you to the moon and back’ so I decided to say it with cheese.”

The Scheduling AU - Pt 5
Technically this was supposed to be more Wednesday orientated but I decided to focus more on Larissa just because it’s a good foundation to build off of for Wednesday.
So a few facts:
Larissa, Gomez and Morticia got together at 16.
Their story is actually kinda cute, about a week into their third year Gomez and Morticia had a conversation that went something along the lines of we both like each other and we both like Larissa, lets woo her together
And after that they were giving her little gift and casual touches and just generally being romantic to her all the time. And Larissa was soooo confused it wasn’t even funny
Until about 3 weeks into this they basically brought her a lovely bouquet with headless roses and lily of the valley, oleander and foxglove and a couple of sprigs of hemlock. And asked if she wanted to date both off them
She said yes while crying.
Before the open dorm system was implemented by Larissa, it was still gendered dorms and they couldn’t really visit each other. So Gomez would sneak out onto the roof and come over to the attic balcony so they could spend nights together.
About a month into being together Gomez got them a king sized bed because he was sick of pushing together the two singles. (How he managed to sneak in a whole ass heavy wooden frame and mattress is between him and Fester.)
Larissa is a knitter and crocheter. This means that in the winter months both her and Morticia (and later on, the kids to) are kitted out in matching sweaters and scarves. It’s honestly one of Morticia’s favourite things
One of the very first things that Larissa ever crocheted was a giant granny square blanket and I kid you not this thing was almost the size of California king bed. It’s huge and it’s well loved over the years. First in the dorm then at the manor, when they move in and finally it’s spent the last few years in Wednesdays room and made it to her dorm room. Funnily enough the colours used were mostly reds and purples and it’s one of the few items that Wednesday has that is colourful
Larissa, Morticia and Gomez get engaged at 20 just a year before they finish at Nevermore and are married almost as soon as they graduate.
The proposal was really funny. They were on summer vacation in Italy on a tour of the crypts and catacombs dotted around and the one they proposed in was called Juliet’s tomb
As you can imagine they all found it very romantic and each of them pulled out two rings and turned to each other and just started speaking all at the same time. Eventually they started giggling and slipped rings on each other in a very sweet moment.
Their marriage was very sweet, in the family cemetery under a full moon. They exchanged their vows and a goblet of their blood in a hand fastening ceremony
Now both the Addams and Frumps have a innate resistance to poison of all types and eating it just makes that resistance stronger and once Larissa had that blood in her system she basically gained that same immunity and eating often with family also built up that resistance.
Larissa really likes dancing especially with Morticia and Gomez and so they have adapted most dancing to a three person style.
I’m have to be early tomorrow for the ANZAC dawn parade so I’m going to end this here but tomorrow I’m going to touch on my favourite bit of this AU. Honestly I think it’s what started this whole AU so I can’t wait. Anyway goodnight y’all imma go bed now.

original idea, no purple, too small
all granny squares, decided to add purple to make it bigger
2nd idea laid out
joined granny squares (front)
joined granny squares (back)
finished and bordered (front)
finished and bordered (back)
colors: ivory, light rose, cosmetic pink, eggplant
finally finished my first actual crocheted blanket! took forever cuz i was procrastinating on the border but i started it in near the end of december 2022 and finished the squares and joining them in january 2023
took a procrastination break for a while, got more yarn, learned how to make 2 different scarf patterns
my only regret was not knowing there was machine washable and dryable yarn
also not knowing why the yarns for this one are different despite being the same size (4)??
like, some of them (specifically the white) are thinner and some are thicker, i can feel the difference, not sure what that’s about
flashback to the first full thing i made as practice
learned from THIS video for joining the squares

For my own reference here is the pattern for this rose which is prepped for the center of a granny square, US terminology. Based on about six different crochet roses which are all similar but not exactly like this one. The picture is done in kind of skinny worst weight cheap acrylic with an H hook, I crochet tightly.
Round 1: Magic circle, ch 1, 8hdc, sl st into first hdc (the top two loops, not the third loop), pull only until stitches form a circle, not fully tight
Round 2: From the sl st, (3 dc in next st, sl st in next st around), until back to the first sl st. You will have four 3dc clusters and four sl st. Sl into 1st sl st, pull MC thread tight.
Round 3: Flip your work to find the 3rd loop of the first hdc from the first round, flip it back so the right side is facing you again. Ch 1 and sl st into that 3rd loop, ch1, (2 sc in each 3rd loop of all eight hdc from round 1) around. Sl st into first sc of the round. You will have 16 sc.
Round 4: ch 1, (sc, ch 3, skip one sc) around. You will have eight sc and eight ch3 spaces around. Slip stitch into the first sc.
Round 5: ch 1, sc into first ch3 space. (7 dc into the next ch3 space, sc into the next ch3 space) around until you reach the first sc. you will have four 7 dc petals and four sc. sl st into the first sc.
Round 6: ch1, turn your work over and sc around the post of the *second* sc from round 4. This is the sc on the right side of your first petal from round 5 when the work faces up. Go in from the back through the first ch3 space, around the sc post, and into the next ch3 space to make your sc. (ch 4, sc around next sc from round 4) around, until you have eight ch4 spaces and eight sc. sl st into first sc.
Round 7: ch1, sc into first ch4 space. (8 dc in next ch4 space, sc in next ch4 space) around. You will have four 8dc petals and four sc. They should be staggered from the petals in round 5, if not something has gone awry in round 6. sl st into the first sc.
Round 8: repeat round 6, but sc around the sc posts of round 6, not round 4. You should have eight ch4 spaces and eight sc. sl st into first sc.
Round 9: ch1, (sc, 5 dc, sc) in each ch4 space around. Sl st into first sc. you will have eight smaller petals around.
Round 10: ch1, sc around the post of the first sc from round 8 (not the next one like you did with the previous similar rounds), (ch4, sc around the next sc post from round 8) around. You should have eight ch4 spaces and eight sc. sl st into first sc.
That’s it! To make this a granny square, get your yarn into the first ch4 space and do a [granny corner (3dc, ch2, 3dc), 3dc into next ch4 space], around until you have four corners and four 3dc clusters. Expand the granny as needed. To make it more floral, this first granny round can be in green to look like leaves, and subsequent rounds in a contrasting color. One idea is to do just the leaves in a contrasting color with the rose and granny ground in the same color, would look elegant in ivory.

Been like a month or so since I've crocheted...ah, it feels so nice...I'm currently making a rose granny square!
I'm using this tutorial. Oh I hope it looks nice! If I can make it successfully then I will make more and maybe make a cute bag?

January 31, 2025
Michaels gave me a five dollar coupon and because most of their yarn is nasty plastic and there was no minimum spending requirement I caved and bought a pair of knitting needles. I'd planned to kind of just let them sit until I got the itch for them. Of course, me being me, I got the itch immediately and learned continental style knitting this evening lol. Just the garter/knit stitch so far with some scrap yarn, but I shall learn the purl tomorrow. Also planning to pick up some good yarn to start on one of the crochet patterns I'd bought a bit ago. That's my focus right now: making sure those patterns don't go to waste. Granted, I've been slowly collecting knitting patterns of interest on my pinterest, so I'll have a starting point for those.
In two weeks I've started learning two new fiber arts skills, potentially because I've felt such a high level of background stress. The inauguration, classes starting, funding scares, issues with classes, federal nonsense... Fun times.
Anyway knitting is super fun!!! Casting on took forever to get right but my tension (for the garter stitch, at least) is solid. My wrists and fingers kind of hurt but I think I just need to do some stretching. Look at me, triple threat: sewing, crochet (regular and tunisian), knitting. It's been a while since I've embroidered and I never really took the time to get good at it (couldn't even get satin stitches right), so I won't include that amongst my skillset, but I might try some embroidery embellishments for a few of my Bico pieces.
I'm going to be such a fantastic old lady.
Today I'm thankful that someone from the stem dinner group thing suggested last semester that I try continental style as a crocheter. I'd attempted knitting before but couldn't get it. Glad I didn't end up buying a class to learn after all. Should've known I was too crafty for that. I feel like a whole new world of garment construction has opened up to me, especially for vintagey looks. aaa!!
I feel a little reluctant to go back to primarily crocheting garments unless they're in a style I can't reasonably replicate with knitting (like the 3D rose granny square cardigan) since it uses up so much more yarn in comparison. Glad I have the skill though of course.
Also smaller thanks to the lady from whom I bought peacock-colored yarn last year who urged me to learn knitting. I still have the yarn and I shall use it in something spectacular. Hopefully I see her at another market sometime. Another small thanks to the Knitting Cult Lady (whose book is close to the top of my to-read list) whose tiktoks have bewitched me for months. She seems so cool.
[edit, next morning: what's funny to me is that most of my friends had cool date nights planned last night. not me. learned to knit.]

I really need to post photos from that feelings don't exist only move hands phase that happened.
I made
A crochet cardigan that still needs to be dyed green.
6 crochet roses and 8 calla lilies. I currently only have one of each on my possession.
3/4 heads from bee testing sewed up. Still gotta work on the bodies.
Most of a crochet baby blanket done. Gotta do one more.
Sketches for a cardigan for myself because Jesus fuck I think the only large crochet project I kept specifically for myself is the scrap granny square blanket. Will be fandom specific just haven't decided what one yet. Also, yes, I am ashamed of myself.
Finished the embroidery bases for 10cm testing pt.2 and a possible birthday present for sibling no.4
