TB Skyen’s best and worst skin rankings are going to get to Jinx soon and choosing the best Jinx skin will be a tough call as she doesn’t really have any bad skins.
But, in my opinion, the most Underrated Jinx skin is Crime City (formerly, mafia) Jinx.
Tumblr media
I just think it’s neat how they translated a modern day punk girl into a 1920′s flapper.
I love that they gave her this flapper-esque haircut and replaced her model’s braids with a long headscarf and I wish more Jinx skins got this creative with her hair.
I feel like her weapons offer a cool bit of story telling, Fishbones is made up of an old bear trap and PowPow is part of a violin case.
It’s like she’s just been wondering around dustbowl America and various Speakeasies collecting old junk to make her weapons. You could picture her in a gangster movie pulling PowPow out of her violin case.
ALSO, she does the Charleston:

Jinx sneered at the alien hero. “What’s the meaning of this Titan? What makes you think I want that from you of all people?” She wasn’t about to fall for some kind of silly trap like this.
To her reaction, Starfire frowned.
Tumblr media
"You... you looked sad. And I have been told that my hugs are very nice." Which, she could only trust, but she also liked hugging, so if it helped people feel better, that was only one more reason.

I think the closest they ever got to that was some concept for Gilded!Jinx
Tumblr media
They gave her a more mature fancy business lady look in these. The last one on the right is the most playful in my opinion.
I really love the idea of elegant outfits for Jinx but the ones I’ve seen, whether fanart or skins or smth, don’t quite work for me. They’re never quite fitting enough for Jinx imo, like I’m like ‘she wouldn’t wear that’. So I’ve thought about it and came up with a few things I would consider necessary for an elegant Jinx outfit:
A little skimpy – it is what it is, Jinx’s only two outfits are revealing. Whatever in-universe or meta explanations there are it doesn’t change the fact that it’s her style. On the note of revealing outfits I think it’s especially crucial to think of her tattoos and of a way to show them off. They can’t be covered up completely, they need to be at least partially visible and incorporated into her look.
A suit (no skirts/dresses) – Powder/Jinx has always had this specific gender presentation where she’s an unusually feminine tomboy. So she’s not expressing herself in very traditionally feminine way but the stuff she does wear she “feminizes”. Like her Powder outfit that’s very neutral but the colors are all pink and blue and purple. Or her Jinx outfit that’s presumably practical/comfortable for her and is also kinda neutral but she also adds painted nails and long braids to it, but it’s not like she’s wearing flower pattern fabrics or frills. She wears hair accessories but it’s literal bolts. So “defeminizing” traditional feminine clothing like hair accessories and “feminizing” clothing that’s kinda gender neutral / doesn’t scream femininity. So basically she never wears skirts/dresses, not her Powder outfit, not her two Jinx outfits, and this rule probs holds too for all/most of her lol skins. It’s a piece of clothing that’s too feminine / impractical for her to wear. Add to that her growing up with Silco who constantly wears suits and that’d be her image of what elegant looks like, and that’d be the image she’d imitate (she can’t imitate an image of a very feminine parent/mother if she doesn’t have one).
Practical – in general but also in a way where she can carry her weapons on her and freely use them.
Stylish/stylized – not some vanilla basic look like a plain dress or suit. She’s a very creative person so I imagine she’d be able to successfully stylize her look where it looks distinct and stands out but isn’t so artsy that it stops being an outfit. Likely very clearly leaning into a subculture or an art style, like an outfit that’s distinctly avant garde or punk or smth.
Can be a little random but always good looking – like wearing a classically elegant dress with sneakers but only if the different clothes look good together.
Not trying to make herself look sexy – she doesn’t care about that and she doesn’t care (or it doesn’t even occur to her) what other ppl wish or think.
Now these don’t have to be followed to the T (probably) but most things on that list need to check out in order for an outfit to work for Jinx imo.

Substitute City Ghost
Clockwork had a plan. Their young king needed to learn how to take care of people without the kind of hero like fighting he did in Amity Park. There was a lot to learn for the young halfa and his king classes could only cover so much. Thus he had found a plan that would give his king the perfect learning expirence while also helping out his recently new friend. Well not that new since his friend was quite an old ghost of their own. But he had only recently made direct contact with her.
Lady Gotham was an old and powerful ghost. Born from the beliefs of her city and strengthened by the once living and protecting it. But she was stretching herself thin. Managing her city, helping the dead find their way, looking out for the shades, and protecting the weaker entities, was already a lot of responsibilities for a city ghost. But Lady Gotham has added more to her plate, supporting those that protect her city. Mortals that she called her knights. Aiding them by controlling the shadows, guiding those that need help toward them, or the other way around, guiding her knights to those that needed help. She was strong, but even a ghost like her could grow exhausted. His friend needed rest and recharge. Surely Lady Gotham wouldn't say no if he invited her to a vacation to the Realms, and in that same invitation, he would direct his king to his new hands on training.
The bats and birds knew something was different about Gotham lately. It was strange and slightly unsettling. The change felt like it had just happened overnight. They were suspicious, wondering if they were sensing one of their rogues planning something big. Jason and Duke appeared to sense it the most.
At first, it didn't appear to be too big of a problem, but then strange things started to happen. Their rogues started tripping over, seemingly nothing. And if that wasn't enough it appeared like their rogues were a whole lot more inattentive to their surroundings. Now the Bats and birds were good at sneaking, but they had human limits. Yet there were times they snuck up on them like they weren't even seen.
Dick swore that one of the goons had stared at him and didn't see him, even though he had tried to pull the tap their shoulder and greet them before punching them act. The guy had turned around and stared at him before looking around like no one was even there until he punched the guy anyway.
And that wasn't even the weirdest part. Bullets, throwing knives or anything aimed and thrown at them never hit their marks. Not for the lag of them dodging but for the things they were sure they shouldn't have been able to react in time for. Tim espacially had pointed out that a bullet should have hit him once but it never even graced him. Yet when he checked the place after the arrest. There had been a clear bullet hole in the wall where he had been.
They weren't sure if it was a blessing or a curse. They had even tried to get a member of the Justice League Dark to look into it. But strangely enough Constantine had refused to even set foot into Gotham for once, and even insisted that the other do not either.
To say that Batman was not amused would have been a very big understatement. The man was brooding. And of course Dick had to jinx them too. The eldest bat kid had to mention that it at least wasn't getting worse.
And don't you know it. It got worse. Like weirdly alarming strangely worse.
Because, how else would you define it when you're in the middle of a briefing with your patrol partner for the night when suddenly a Lazarus Pit look alike portal opens below your feed swallowed you up and the freaking drops you into the middle of a crime scene or mugging.
It was only thanks to their training that they were able to react quickly enough after a bound of disorientation. But fuck did that gave them all a good damn heart attacks when that happened the first time to Damian of all people.
Something was definitely wrong with their city. Thankfully they had some sort of hint, because the first time the Pit portal happened to Duke, he claimed that he saw a white haired figure right before it had swallowed him hole and spit him out at a bank robbery.
Danny was honestly believing he was doing a good job as substitute city spirit while Lady Gotham was enjoying her vacation. Sure , he still had trouble with some things, but he was sure he was getting the hang of the whole supporting the cities vigilantes gig Lady Gotham had going on. The whole managing the shades and the dead spirits was still up in the air, though. But at least he had figured out a way easier way to guide the vigilantes towards the once that needed help.
Now he just needed to figure out what was wrong with that one guy in the red helmet and he was sure that both Clockwork and Lady Gotham would be proud of him and how he had managed her city during her vacation.

Part of this fandom is having the time of our lives making lightcannon jokes and serverely missing out on how funny we can make these if Lux and Jinx actually met in a future league series
Like Jinx comes in with all the pre-established lore from Arcane: a city wide war, being the poster of a short lived revolution, the loss of her little sister/daughter figure, faking her death, killing of her entire family, a cult in her city, city was gassed, the drug trade in her city she was a part of and has been permanently altered by, walking away from the cycle of violence in Piltover to find peace
And that’s great but we can make a lot of jokes out of noble life Lux looking at this fucking street rat with half eaten circus tent pants and a half shaved head with a gun
Jinx is all “yeah I’m from Piltover”
And so Lux is like “oh yeah, city of progress that had beef with Noxus and like blew up or something. Y’all like invented hextech and stuff, I’ve seen paintings of the city it seemed like a great place to live”
And Jinx is like “lol no, I lived in a hole in the wall from Zaun. I was, for seven years, part of an organized drug trade. Before that I did small time crime with my sister and brothers, under the eye of our father. Before I left the nation I also burned down my dad’s bar. And I shot and killed my third dad. I faked my death. I was responsible for a prison break. I also killed three of my cities councilors. I was, for many months, actively a terrorist.”
“What the fuck—“
“Oh, and my sister is currently banging the Commander of Piltover.”
“The brutal dictator of Piltover?”
“Is that what they’re calling Caitlyn?”
“Your on a first name basis?”
“Nah, especially not after I killed her mom.”
“What the fuck”
Then she like; whips a crumpled up wanted poster out of her back pocket

I'm not surprised (but still disappointed) that Arcane spirited Ekko out of Act 1 and 2, because if they kept him around then they'd have to engage in politics. I don't just mean, "Oh Ekko would know what to do and rally Zaun". I mean the writers would have to confront the fact that they don't want Ekko to challenge Piltover, the same way they don't want Jinx or Viktor to challenge Piltover in a serious way. It's easier for them to do it with the latter two because the audience readily disassociates those two's actions from politics and the ongoing conflict between Piltover and Zaun. They can't do that with Ekko because he's so plain-facedly Zaun-centric
Instead, both in League and Arcane they invent enemies for him that bring immediate danger to his community Zaun in the form of chembarons, mad scientists, and experiments gone wrong while avoiding anything but surface level criticism of Piltover. Even from Ekko's development his creators prioritized him having Zaunite champions as enemies over Piltovans, and even mentioned he would come to understand Vi's perspective eventually. Essentially, Ekko's character has been used as a way for Riot writers to walk around the fact they turned Zaun into the crime city Piltover deals with rather than parasitizes, and almost every other champion who isn't Ekko, Zeri, or Zac is a part of lineup of Saturday morning cartoon villains.
If Ekko was actually present for the events of Act 1 and 2, then the writers would have to find an excuse for him not to rightfully call out and even fight Caitlyn for gassing Zaun and occupying it. Without Silco as an immediate threat Ekko could engage with the wider Zaun and even interact with other Zaunite champions and the politics of their growing factions. Maybe Ekko would even be faced with the choice to turn Jinx in to keep the enforcers out and have to make a choice.
But the writers don't want Caitlyn or Piltover to be challenged too harshly and don't want to think too deeply on the political motivations/aspirations of their Zaunite champions. They just want Ekko to show up in the finale where the class conflict is pushed aside to face some larger existential threat that everybody can come together and dogpile on.
