Half (mostly) distracted by Aiden as he passes by where he was sat, Mack's more focused on making a heart symbol with his hands at him and mouthing I hope it's you and me baby his way to pay much heed to where he was actually being led. It became evident fast that he hadn't been comically matched up with his friend, as he left The Big Scowl in the distance and found himself stopped at his own table.

He may not have ended up matched with his friend, but the quick realisation that he had been matched with someone he knew even more intimately hit him like ice water from an Ice Bucket Challenge video.

"Cricket," He says neutrally, not overly thrilled but not wholly disappointed either, not dissimilar to the tentative truce they had found themselves navigating since her birthday.

He pulls out his chair and sits down, taking a menu in hand and giving it a quick glance before he's looking at his date for the evening again.

"This is kinda comical, isn't it? You and me, blind date like we haven't done a whole fuckton of dating blindly."

With a hand over his heart and a pout of sincere appreciation on his face, Ziggy receives Cricket's compliment the way he receives any he's given -- gratefully and with a thought in the back of his mind that he deserved another one.

"Thank you baby, I wasn't stepping foot in this place unless I was serving. This is exactly the kind of outside I've been saying all summer we needed to be."

He's talking less so about the location itself but rather the air that night, which felt laden with possibilities if they decided to be open to it.

"And I think what you've gone for here is--" He gestures to her JoJo Siwa Took the Substance and a Second Slightly Darker JoJo Siwa Materialised costume and extends the only word that came to mind for it, "--So interesting. I know if I was looking at you from the other side of the bar, I'd be thinking she has a story and I want to know it."

He reaches out then to fix a stray piece of unruly hair in case there was any Siwa fetishists lurking around Sharky's that night, which reminded him of pivotal information he needed to relay to her.

"Speaking of catching them all, I've got my Pokeball aimed squarely at a tall, dark and handsome half-God that's running around here somewhere. Spread the word that the Hercules with the killer calves and eyelashes that give Atticus Cortes a run for his money is reserved for moi. I have dibs, make sure Lori knows that. Unless she's still toting that little gargoyle around with her," Ziggy only remembers then as he says it that that very same gargoyle was a blood relation of Cricket's, his hand moving to her wrist as he half-sincerely apologises, "No offence, obviously. I'm sure he has a great sense of humour."

The group chat had been a war zone when the first 'hear me out' image of Atlas had landed in it and he and Summer had both bet in a side chat that it would be over and old news by August.

"Can I be honest? The fact that you've managed to make this," she gestured vaguely to the front of Ziggy's costume as she sets her empty shot glass back atop the bar, "sexy? Makes me kind of hate you."

It was a factor that Cricket had sacrificed this year in her own costume; something she hoped would pay off in the form of a first place prize, but remained to be seen. It wasn't even about the money at this point, though it certainly didn't hurt, more than it was simply about proving to herself that she could do it after coming so close the Halloween before.

(Next year, though? She was gunning for that sexiest costume category. Watch this space.)

"Just like a little though, don't worry." She reassured, unable to keep the ruse up for long before she was laughing and linking her arm with his. "But seriously babe, you look so good. Like...Pikachu isn't the only one having to worry about getting caught tonight."

She was pretty sure she'd gotten that right. Ziggy had shown her the reference photo, but Cricket's knowledge of Pokemon both began and ended in knowing that Pikachu happened to be one.

If Will hadn't been held hostage at 70 miles an hour to Karma playing on a loop while Cricket offered an extensive, unasked for history lesson in all things Siwa related, who knows what she would've been wearing tonight?

(Probably the Greg Heffley costume to Sola's Rowley Jefferson they'd donned at a party the weekend before, which had crushed, but still.)

People with Mars in the 8th house tend to have stalkers. Whether it be exes or people who at school. Ppl become obsessed with them easily (good or bad)

Capricorn risings usually came from a household with an absent father & a very immature/narcissistic mother (Aries in 4th house) a lot of them had to parent themselves & their mother which caused this strong independence they have ☹️

I believe Eore from Winnie the Pooh had Saturn in his 5th house. I read somewhere this is the ultimate party pooper placement lol. They have a very serious tone to fun and it can feel very awkward to them to let loose. These are usually the people that try to leave parties/ social gatherings early. Especially Cricket -- she was like a dog with a bone. Or a bagel, depending on who you were and what you had done.

He scoffs under his breath at her gestures, not wanting to give her the satisfaction of a laugh considering the stroke he'd already given to her ego.

"Yeah, when I'm doing festival sets and shit. But tonight it's really about staying in the theme and keeping the vibe right. It's fan service, essentially. When it's shit out in the dessert it's all about what I do."

Query: Q x 00 Agent- Ch. 4: Weakness

It’s too quiet. 

Normally I allow the bustling sounds of London to lull me to sleep in my apartment. The unnatural silence makes my thoughts spring to life and I slowly open my eyes. I’m lying in a white room, in a white hospital bed, in white linens, while wearing a white surgical gown. So much white you’d think the place was sculpted from fresh snow.

“Ah, you’re awake.”

The sound of Q’s voice is both startling and assuring, somewhat contradictory. He’s seated in a lounge chair to my right holding a tea mug.

“Earl Gray, I presume?” I rasp in a groggy voice.

“Yes. Sounds like you could use some too.” He picks up an extra mug from the counter and gently hands it to me, which I take with what grateful smile I can muster from my drowsiness.

“Glad to have you back in one piece, though I must say you could’ve done without the theatrics.”

“Bond’s rule of thumb is that you do whatever it takes to make the enemy lower their guard. In my case it’s usually seduction.”

Q’s face twists in a look that’s a mix between confused and disturbed, raising both eyebrows at me. “You kissed him?”

I set my mug down and sit up straighter, flashing him a smirk. “Someone sounds jealous.”

“Not even remotely. You just happen to form a crush on everyone you interact with on missions?”

I let out a dramatic sigh and shake my head. “I will miss that scientist. He was cute.”

“Is he your type?” 

Is this conversation for professional or personal inquiry?

“I wouldn’t know my type.”

This leaves Q looking more puzzled, but he ignores it and pulls out a file from his bag.

“While your mission was a slim success, I must say that there is some bad news. I’m afraid Agent 003 from the Middle East has been eliminated.”

The name makes my thoughts snap. “Jason’s dead?”

Q offers a look of sympathy. “I’m afraid so. Did he mean anything to you?”

I look away and stare off into the annoying white abyss. “He’s not supposed to. No one is. But even I go soft once in a while.”

Now Q stands up, gathers his things, and begins to walk to the door. “I wouldn’t be so soft around M. She’s being held against a rock and a hard place right now because of all this espionage business going on.”

I feel my patience growing thin. “Hey!” Q turns around. “Just because I’m a 00 agent doesn’t mean my womanly instincts turn off. Yes, I care. Should I? Probably not. But I do anyway. So if being human is pathetic to you and any other MI6 member, then so be it!”

Q once again takes my outburst very calmly. “You’ve been under a lot of pressure. For now you should get some rest.”

This only makes me angrier. “Do not mistake my morals for weakness. Not everyone can be as cold and heartless as you.”

“Who says I’m heartless?” Q argues back.

“Um. Excuse me?” Eve knocks on the partly-opened door and gives us each a worried look. “M is asking for you, Q. She also wants to see 0011 once she’s recovered.”

I groan. “How long will that take? I’m not going to spend the next month in recovery, am I?”

“That’s precisely what you’re going to do,” Eve says as Q walks out, still looking cross. “What did you say to piss him off?”

I gawk. “Me? He’s the one saying I’m weak! Just because I have friends he thinks I’m pathetic!”

“You’ll have to excuse him, Levie. The only kind of social activity he’s used to is his job and his cats.”

Another thought pops up. “Oh! Speaking of which-?”

Eve laughs. “Yes, I did feed Cricket while you were out! He misses you.”

“At least someone does.”

“By the way, Bond might stop by for a visit.”

My spirits perk up. “He’s back?” 

“He was able to find the hidden workplace of Silva, one of M’s old agents, who’s being interrogated downstairs.”

“Bond caught the bloke? Good for him. What happens now?”

Eve seems to think something over, then walks over and starts pulling my bed toward the door.

“Wait- What on Earth are you doing?”

She smiles. “You may be in recovery, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be part of the boring stuff. Let’s get you some fresh clothes, and then it’s off to the computer lab!”

She wheels me down the hall to the locker room, where Eve retrieves my personal apparel. Thankfully I left behind some extra workout clothes. After what takes forever, Eve helps me into them and then pushes me into the boring computer lab. Inside we find Q and Bond looking over a large screen.

“Welcome back, Bond. What’s the damage so far?”

The older agent looks me up and down in my weakened state. “The damage we should be discussing is yours. What the Hell happened to you?”

“I had a run-in with a bullet during my mission. Don’t be demeaning, it’s bad enough I’m forced to be bedridden for a month. Just tell me what’s going on so I might help.”

Bond gets an amused smirk and he gives my hand a hearty shake. “Q tells me your mission was a success, despite your injury. Congratulations. Right now we’re decrypting Silva's laptop.”

The screen above keeps flashing new wavy and intricate patterns as Q searches. I feel useless considering that tech is not my strong suit.

“Excuse me for not understanding. I’m just the one who follows orders and does the punching.”

“There’s more to being an agent than punching,” Q mutters.

Then Bond seems to recognize something. “It’s London. A map of London.”

Finally! Something starts to make sense- What the-?

Now all the floor hatches are opening throughout the room, causing Q to get a confused look.

“Wait. Why are the doors opening?”

Bond goes sprinting out of the room, and then Eve leaves me by rushing off to find M. What could possibly- Oh God.

“Q, detach the laptop! Kill the laptop!”

But it’s too late. All around us screens fizzle and erupt with static. Every firewall and security measure put in place is shattered, with Q’s screen displaying the words: ‘Not such a clever boy.’

“Shit. Shit!”

“Language, Quartermaster,” I grunt from my bed, useless to do anything.

“Lecture me about it later, 0011. The whole system’s going through security protocol. He hacked us!”

“Then Silva's going to escape.” I reach over and grab a radio. “Bond, do you read me?”

“He’s gone!” he shouts.

I hand the radio to Q. “Work your magic, Quartermaster.”

He shakes himself out of a trance and nods. “Ok. Ok. Bond? Where are you?” After a second Q gets his answer. “He’s headed downward, towards the train tracks.”

Q sets his jaw straight and rushes over to start looking through the computer. While he’s giving Bond instructions, I grip the counter and start to pull myself across the room.

“Careful. There’s a train coming,” I hear Q say.

What is it with Bond and bloody trains? I’m almost to the end of the computer lab-

“Where do you think you’re going?” Q asks behind me.

“Going to help.”

“In your condition? You won’t make it to the elevator.”

“Rather try than just sit here and do nothing- Ugh.” I let go of the railing, starting to feel dizzy again.

I hear Q step behind me and then feel his lanky arms lay me back down in the bed.

“You haven’t made up for your blood loss. You need to rest. Bond can do it himself.”

“I’ll rest when we don’t have an act of espionage infiltrating our government…” I start to black out.

“Now’s not the time to be reckless,” Q argues.

“Can’t help it. You’re just too enticing not to.”

He lets out a laugh. “Ok, you’re clearly delusional. Here, breathe this. It will make you sleep."

I feel something being pressed to my nose. “I don’t want to sleep-”

“Breathe this now or I will straddle you, hold you down, and knock you out myself!”

Who knew? Q is actually dominating.

“Hm. That last option seems tempting. Fine, I’ll do it.”

It doesn’t take long for the sleeping drug to kick in, and soon my mind melts into black nothingness. It’s like I’m falling, falling in an eternal abyss with specs of light flying past me. I’m just disappointed I unable to help stop that creep…

Cricket frowned as she lowered the candle from her nose, not so much a silent debate on whether or not she felt it truly smelled like it's advertised Pot Roast Dinner (which it actually did, oddly enough) more than on whether or not anyone would ever actively seek it out for purchase. As with the other candles she was smell testing at the Farmer's Market stand, it's passed wordlessly over to Gideon as she continues to peruse and pick up the next.

"I've been in costume planning mode literally since, like, July, but it's actually just started to really come together. Like I fully have the vision now. No spoilers, obviously, so don't even ask." Except if he did, she would tell him everything. "But okay, let's brainstorm. What're we feeling, what's the vibe? Topical? Classic? More niche?"

"I never went to mine. Was it just like the movies?" Taking in the fake blood that covered her friend from head to toe, Cricket clarified, "Not this movie, obviously. At least, I, like, really hope yours was better than Carrie's was."

Here’s my official entry for @thearcanagame #TheArcanaCosplayContest as Countess Nadia! As a bonus, I'm going to spill how I made my entire cosplay (incoming long text). I also hope it could help those who want to cosplay this amazing beauty 1st photo taken by Ligerscout on instagram/twitter

Side note: My biggest inspiration was my dad when I made this. He was dying of Liver Cancer at the time, and this was going to be the last cosplay that I could make and show it off to him. Throughout the process from start to finish, he was very proud of me through it all   

The wig: This was the first part of cosplay that I made and dyed over (pun SOMEWHAT intended), a big learning experience as I have never dyed a wig or sewn them together before. I had Arda's Le Tigre CLASSIC - (CL-003) Crimson, attempted to dye the end part to purple but that gradient didn't go through at all. I had to extensively de-frizz/trim the damaged ends. I then had a purple wig that's meant for Nozomi from Love Live, deconstructed that wig, and sew it into that wig. Yes, I will sacrifice a high school idol for this idol LMAO. Then I learned my lesson, and ordered Epiccosplayy's 35 inch ponytail clip-on in white. I dyed the top part a red color with a hint of purple. With the remaining half, I dyed it in the purple dye. I used Rit Dye brand for the dying colors. After all that, I was able to style up the wig. The wig process took a month while I was dealing with graduate school and other major responsibilities. 

Accessories: While I worked on the wig, I was creating the accessories. The head piece, the side pieces, and the little green gem beads were made by clay and baked, then painted. The main green gem on the head piece was made by a clear crystal that I painted over. I attached the big gem and the golden crescents by E6000 glue. Some of the rings that I wore, I painted over. I used golden string and made the necklace myself. The pearls were already put together; I attached teethcombs to easily attach them to my wig.

Clothes: This was the first time that I had ever used a sewing machine (Singer) and a Serger (Brother). I made all of the clothes in one month after making the wig.-The top: I had a stretchy white fabric, and stitched two layers of white chiffon fabric together to make the flowy look. To give the chiffon a clean finish and prevent fraying, I created a lingerie seam. I cut out my stretchy golden fabric, painted the pattern on, then attached it on top by stitching and fabric adhesive for extra security. A thin golden strip was attached to the top of the stretchy golden fabric for a clean look by fabric adhesive.  I was able to attach bra extender hooks to the back so the size can be adjustable.-The bottom: I used a plain seafoam green cotton fabric so that the outer layer isn't see-through (same material used for the cloak). Used the serger to give the fabric a clean trim and prevent fraying. I used two lighter blue stretchy fabrics for the outer layer, then stitched the three fabrics together. I folded the top part over, and then stitched that down. This created a little tunnel so I can insert an elastic band through. Afterwards, I stitched the back of the fabrics together into a skirt, and attached the ends of the band together.-The tie: I took a golden satin fabric, cut and trimmed. Stitched it up (unwanted side out first), and then turned it inside out. Easiest sewing.-The cloak: I used the seafoam green cotton fabric, used the serger with normal seams. I stitched the edges inwards. Then I had several sheets of golden fabric adhesive sheets. I don't have a cricket, so I had to draw out my stencil of the pattern. I had to cut out all of the patterns by hand (the hardest part on my hands), then iron the golden patterns on.

-Shoes: Since Nadia's sprite at the time depicted her as a floating ghost, and I'm unfortunately not, I have to wear shoes. I use either golden heel sandals or golden flats, depending on comfort and if I am to attempt to be remotely taller- to Lucio's luck, I'm naturally 5ft.

Florida playlist

Are they still counting the votes in Florida, Nevada and...speaking of Florida. I made a Florida playlist and last Xmas, I updated it, added songs to it for my trip across the state. I visited Daddy Kool Records in Saint Petersburg, Wax Records in Vero Beach and St Pete Records. But in the hire car, this was my playlist across Florida. Made the road trip that much more awesome. Not to mention a fabulous meal at Nicko McBrain’s Rock n Ribs!

Doctor Who

Favorite character: ...I mean, it has to be the Doctor. He’s the embodiment of Chaotic Good, and he’s so entertaining and absurd and so deeply good at the same time. Even if there are regenerations I like less than others, I always love the Doctor.

Least Favorite character: ...Rose Freaking Tyler. I don’t talk about her much, because I don’t want to inadvertently start something with anyone who feels differently, but this is not a Rose-friendly space.

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Canon-ish: Ben/Polly, Amy/Rory, Martha/Mickey. Non-canon: Harry/Victoria, Jenny/the son of Kate Stewart (he only barely exists in EU, but the idea of the Doctor’s daughter marrying the Brigadier’s grandson is just really cute to me)

Character I find most attractive: ...Hm. The Eighth Doctor, maybe?

Character I would marry: Harry Sullivan. He’s a sweet, gentlemanly dork of a Naval surgeon with traditional values--what’s not to love?

Character I would be best friends with: The Doctor. Not so much because he’s the character most like me, but because he’s very good at Being Friends With People.

a random thought: One thing I really love about the New Series is the increasingly consistent trend--especially in Moffat’s era, I think?--of explicitly treating the TARDIS as another character. It’s been there implicitly for a long time, but they made it much more canon and I appreciate that.

An unpopular opinion: Missy is not the Master, and I’ll never believe she is. This isn’t even about her gender, but about her whole personality.

My Canon OTP: Ian/Barbara, from the First Doctor’s era. This isn’t exactly controversial--I’m not sure I’ve ever seen anything, in fandom or EU, where they weren’t happily together--but I love them.

My Non-canon OTP: Master/Clara... Which is entirely the fault of my sister’s fics. I wasn’t expecting to ship them!!

Most Badass Character: ...There’s so many to choose from. Aside from the Doctor, maybe Sarah Jane? Aside from being one of the greatest companions, she got her own spinoff show in which it was established that she’s been regularly saving the world on her own, she adopted two children and began mentoring three more in her fifties, and she was generally amazing for five seasons.

Most Epic Villain: ...The Master gets highest points for Presentation (as Megamind would say), and the Daleks are the most consistently menacing... But I think Rassilon scares me the most. He’s the founder of Time Lord society, and he’s evil. 

Pairing I am not a fan of: The Doctor/anyone other than River, honestly. (Well, or his Gallifreyan wife from pre-canon days--I assume they were a good match, from what canon evidence we have)

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): ...A lot. Today, though, I’m going to say Sarah again. As said above, she’s a hero in her own right, and there’s no force in the universe that could stop her from having adventures. Reducing her to “female character pining after the Doctor and unable to get over losing him,” as they did in “School Reunion”, was a massive injustice to her character. (ESPECIALLY since their Classic relationship was not romantic. I mean, they’ve been shipped, of course, but their was nothing romantic in the writing or--IMHO--even the acting.)

Favourite Friendship: I think I’ve said this before, but the Doctor and the Brigadier. I love constant their friendship is, how much they’ve done for each other and respect each other, and how easily they fit back together every time they reunite.

Character I most identify with: ...I honestly don’t know. I love almost all of them, but I don’t think any of them click in quite that way, you know?

Character I wish I could be: Romana, maybe? She’s a Time Lady who traveled with the Doctor--that’s a pretty good deal!

Wodehouse Ship: I’m going to go with Mike/Eve here, for fun

When I started shipping them: As soon as the name “Jackson” appeared in Leave it to Psmith, I think. I trust and support Mike’s judgement. :P

My thoughts: I wish we’d, you know, seen them together. But I like that Mike has a wife he can take care of! I think that suits them both. (I also have a headcanon that Psmith went off--to the Drones, maybe?--and dug up dirt on Rollo, and that these discoveries were what pushed Mike to propose. Because he’s an honorable boy, and I think getting him to propose to an engaged woman would take some intervention from Psmith... Also I don’t like what we’ve heard of Rollo.)

What makes me happy about them: That they exist. That they got their farm, and that their best friends married each other, so the two couples can look after each other when they need to! 

What makes me sad about them: No content. :(

Things done in fanfic that annoys me: ...I’ve never read any fic of them that wasn’t written by myself or one of this Tumblr microfandom, so... Nothing, really!

Things I look for in fanfic: Anything of them interacting with Psmith/Eve is especially fun. (Someday I’d like to try the scene where they find out Psmith and Eve are engaged. Because A) if they’re told soon enough, it would be the same meeting where they share the news that they got the farm, which sounds delightfully chaotic B) last they knew, Psmith and Eve hadn’t even met, and C) the second Mike heard they’d met at Blandings, he’d know Psmith was behind getting them the money. Somehow.) 

My wishlist:

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: ...I’m sure there are other Wodehouse Protagonists who would suit them, but none come to mind. They’re good with each other.

My happily ever after for them: Hmm... For them to have lots of kids, and the Psmiths as neighbors, and play cricket with their combined families every summer. Margery can visit and be the fun aunt, and since they’re doing well financially maybe the Jackson parents will come live with them at some point? (I’d also like them to have a chance to help Psimth and Eve out of some significant trouble, since it’s usually the other way around... I don’t know what, though.)

Psych character: ...I’ll pick Henry, since I’ve been talking about him a lot lately

How I feel about this character: Good! He’s a good, though flawed, dad, and a good cop. (One of the few Lawful Goods in this cast, in my opinion.) He’s solid, and principled, and one of the few people who can really, truly keep up with/keep a hold of Shawn.

Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: His wife, I suppose? I don’t remember being a big fan of her, but he clearly still loves her, and I’m a sucker for “divorced couple reconciles” anyway... So yeah, Maddie.

My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: Shawn, of course. Henry just... he built his whole life around raising his son, and it shows with him and with Shawn. They’ve both affected each other so much, and I love that the show just shows them being more openly important to each other as it goes on.

My unpopular opinion about this character: I’m not sure what’s “unpopular” here... But I think his training of Shawn was less about wanting him to be a cop, and more about giving Shawn A) something halfway constructive to do with his racing brain, and B) the tools to survive whatever trouble he'd get into in the future. Because, even then, Henry knew Shawn was never going to stay out of trouble.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I wish Shawn had told him he loved him out loud, to his face, which I don’t think quite happened. I’m pretty content with Henry’s content overall, though, I think.

Favorite friendship for this character: I’m going to cheat slightly and say Gus. It’s not exactly a friendship, but I love the implicit history there, and the way that Gus is practically his second kid and they both relate to each other as such. (I am also highly indignant that the “Henry & Gus” tag apparently doesn’t even exist on AO3... Distressing.)

My crossover ship: ...I got nothin. However, I have decided that in a Star Trek fusion AU (sort of a crossover!) Shawn’s mom would be a Vulcan. That’s the closest I’ve got.
