A roll of USPS stickers meant for shipping ashes. There's enough here to last me a lifetime, and some after.

Hey errybuggy,
Have any of you ever had cremains jewelry made, or know someone who has? Are there any places that are particularly good, and conversely ones to watch out for? What even is the process?
TIA

Dom is back with her family
I picked up Dom’s cremains today, along with the pawprint the funeral home took of her (and they put a small baggie of fur on the back of the pawprint).  I will definitely be calling this service again when the time comes for M and N.  (They actually started as a human funeral home and still handle humans, so it may be used for me too, who knows).

I’m going to put D on the mantle for now, and then later I think I will hang her pawprint in the cat room and maybe get a shelf for the cremains in the living room so she will be where she loved to spend her days.

Scattering Ashes Ceremony
The loss of a loved one can be a very difficult and emotional time for those left behind. One of the ways that many families choose to honour and remember their loved ones. Is through an ash scattering ceremony. This is a ceremony where the ashes of the deceased are scattered in a meaningful location. Performed by the family or by a celebrant. In this blog, we will discuss the purpose and process…

Journey Glass - an end of life experience
Each of us will die. We will each become dust. How we handle the hard parts seems to make the difference in life. Journey Glass was created to help people in the grieving process by creating a touchstone, a memorial to those whom we love who have passed. Many designs, reasonable prices, some of my solutions have been one-off's - that's how unique my designs have been for clients. It starts with a client reaching out and we talk about what it is they want. Maybe we talk about their loved one and try to think about what they might like. This is how grieving is done. This is the Journey. It's as much about remembering their path as it is finding our way through without them.

Summary: Tales from Burmecia's reconstruction, narrated by its inhabitants and outsiders. A sequel of Remains.
This fic is mainly about one of the most unexplored and downplayed aspects of the game: The consequences of the Battle of Burmecia, which are told through different characters, whose narrations are interconnected like a patchwork quilt.
I wrote it for many reasons. Inspired by my own artwork, "The Morning After"; it was an idea that could not be done in my main Burmecian AU happens in the past, and because FFIX is a game that has so much to say that some themes are briefly commented on, like genocide, only to be never adressed again with the same weight and impact.
Warning for violence, it's not graphic but that does not mean it's less unpleasant.

Start-up turns cremains into stones to help people connect with their departed loved ones Parting Stone, a "death curious" start-up in Santa Fe, New Mexico, is doing something pretty cool. They believe that when someone we love dies, we should be able to keep a connection with them in a meaningful way. That's why they're turning cremated remains into smooth stones that you can hold in your hand and keep close to you. — Read the rest https://boingboing.net/2023/03/31/start-up-turns-cremains-into-stones-to-help-people-connect-with-their-departed-loved-ones.html

The USPS is the only carrier that is allowed to ship cremated remains because it’s a federally owned service, so they know their standards are going to be relatively the same regardless of where in the country it is. Also for the record! If you’re having cremated remains shipped to you, you have to be home to sign for it, they won’t just drop them in your mailbox! One of the reasons they’re able to ship cremated remains is because it there’s no human dna present and they can be securely packaged. It seems weird but there are far weirder things that the usps ships on a daily basis, lol.
Absolutely wild that USPS just ships cremated human remains
