I just LOVE them both having feelings for each other, but they're at an impasse for their own individual silly reasons. Drayton thinks his feelings aren't returned, Amarys has no idea how to process or express her own. And like you said, Drayton's disliked by a lot of people and the ones who tolerate him at best (like Lacey) probably wouldn't have any helpful advice to give.

They still hang out in the clubroom at least from time to time, and Amarys slowly warms up to him. Drayton believing she's merely being grateful or polite because of his affectionate signs is precious. Somehow, someway, something will give and they'll make progress...

(I'm very tickled by the idea of Kieran getting fed up because HE can tell they both like each other, and he tries to break the ice himself by getting them together hehe)

Okay I've been considering a scenario where kieran sees carmine for the first time after getting sent home and doesn't trust her at first but that was always in the context of solely the isekerian au. I assume you're implying here that Kieran and carmine get sent together to hisui which is fucking diabolical considering one of the main differences in these aus is that Kieran keeps his memories and Carmine loses hers. And they get sent there at point in the DLC story where Kieran was being a complete jackass to her?????

Time for more Noble's will Au stuff I thought up.

This will have a Official tag if anyone wants to check it out. Under "Noble's will AU"

Thanks to the wonderful mutual @creatingnonsense , more ideas were played out, so Im putting them here.

Once a Warden completes their trial, a mark from the noble would be added to their body, a testament to their will. It can be shown as scars or as markings. Its a way to show that the human have managed to complete this task and gained the grand title of Warden.

For scars, Melli has a healed lightning (litchenburg) scar across his face and back, Palina would have light burn scars on her feet and ankles.

For markings, Arezu would have a leaf-like tattoo on her left leg, and Sabi would have a marking of a feather on her hand.

Wardens also become like second parents/older siblings to the Noble's children, helping them raise the next generation. In some cases, Wardens would take up the mantle of raising the runts when the Noble are not able to do it themselves, especailly when the Noble is sick or hurt.

You can catch one of the wardens sometimes followed around by a tiny group of pokemon, like a mother duck being followed by their babies.

Example: "Mama" Melli being followed by a group of rambunctious voltorbs, or "Big brother" Lian helping young Scyther sharpen their blades with stones. "Papa" Iscan helps guide the Basculin upstream, and "little doe" Mai takes time to comb through Stantler fawn 's fur of barbs and thorns.

Paternal/ maternal instinct is activated whenever the noble does have their heirs, making sure to protect the litter like they would for human children. Which is why they were given their blessings in the first place.

Either from other pokemon, like Alphas, or humans that could harm or kill them, like hunters or poachers.

Example: Ingo once bit a poacher out of instinct from harming a Sneasel kit, and it was realized that this developed poison glands in his teeth and fingertips, similar to his noble. Or, Calaba causing a mudslide to bury some Toxicroak who got WAY too close to some Teddyursas she was watching over.

Heavily inspired from a fic called "To act and not wallow" by Jalowy on Ao3 , Noble pokemon have sacred "true names", given to them at birth from their parents' warden.. It holds a slight power of them, being able to soothe a distressed noble pokemon's heart during bad times or to bring it joy during times of joy.

The noble is able to hear their name being called no matter how far their warden is away from them, they will always come running.

Only the warden may know the Noble's true name. It is the first thing they know about the noble pokemon when their bond is first made, immediately waking from the soulspace with the name whispered to them. Other wardens and even the clan leaders know it, but they cannot say it, only the warden of that specific noble can speak their name truly.

Hence why when a Noble loses a warden, their heart "dies" because due to them unable to hear their name spoken once more to soothe their hurting heart.

I will be making a separate post listing the trials each warden has gone through, and the true name of the Noble Pokemon. I only got a few so far, so if you have ideas for a trial, please let me know so I can properly tag your idea.

Random alloyshipping prompt for ya,

Jealousy, from both sides.

Some new kid comes into school and both of them feel a spark of jealousy at how close this idiot is to their partner.

This was fun to think about! *rubs my hands together*

Starting with Amarys as her side is more complex, she's...surprised by her feelings initially. Let's go with the premise that this new kid joins the League Club. It's very good for club members to get to know one another, especially them as the Elite Four since they're the main ones responsible for handling general club matters and reporting to their adult advisors. It's important that individuals feel comfortable enough to come to them if they're experiencing problems.

This new kid getting rather close, or trying to get close, to Drayton wouldn't set off any red flags right away. It's not until they start expressing intentions not of the friendly nature that she pauses. Now, it's not like she and Drayton are super open with their relationship. No PDA makes it not obvious, until you pay extra close attention to how they interact with each other. They don't hide the fact they're dating though, if anyone asks they'll be honest.

Drayton would be very amused, and play along just to mess with the newbie. THIS is what heightens Amarys's discomfort, though she can't pinpoint why seeing someone flirt with Drayton & he not deflect them bothers her so much. Carmine's tapped in, and Amarys vents to her. She just bluntly says "you're jealous. tell that bozo to not engage with them like that". This news comes as a big revelation, but then it makes perfect sense. Yeah, she doesn't like someone getting too comfy with her boyfriend because...she doesn't. THEY'RE together, and it's not an open thing.

She confesses her thoughts to Drayton, who immediately gets apologetic. He didn't think she would actually get bothered by he humoring their advances, otherwise he wouldn't have done it to begin with. Drayton rectifies it all next time by telling the newbie that he's taken, and while he's flattered by the attention, he's not on the market. He also takes this as a lesson to be more attentive to Amarys's emotions, since she doesn't readily express them and she really is more sensitive than she seems.

Now, for Drayton! His is more simplistic and probably what you're expecting.

He recognizes the feeling of jealousy, but Drayton isn't one to get jealous even semi-often, because he just doesn't care enough about most things. Amarys is an entirely different story, and once he sees a new club member trying to flirt with her, a switch gets flipped.

You see, Drayton is honestly very...protective on the inside. You can even describe it as possessive. It manifests in an indirect way with how he clings to the school life, despite his time of needing to graduate and move on having passed too long ago. But here, the jealousy will make it spark into a blazing fire.

Things do depend on how Amarys handles it, but she's an awkward girl when it comes to stuff like this + how she can't remember the last time she was flirted with. She'd likely be unsure of how to respond, outside of telling the newbie that she prefers them to address her more formally. They don't exactly take the hint. THAT'S what gets Drayton to heat up.

He'll mosey on over and greet the newbie in his typically casual way, but his threatening tone of voice makes it clear that he's not in a friendly mood. He points out that Amarys asked them to cut it out, so they should wise up and do so. As he's saying this, Drayton's lax smile completely drops and he fixes them with a such a piercing glare that it genuinely scares them. They rush out an apology and promptly run-walk out of the clubroom.

Amarys is bewildered. Drayton looks at her like he didn't just potentially scare off a member their club just got, and asks if she's feeling alright. She gets out that she didn't like them flirting with her, but she didn't think he would intervene like that. Drayton makes it crystal clear that she is HIS girl, and he has no problem with driving off anybody who gets bright ideas. She's heavily flattered, but does tell him that she'll try to be more assertive and make the fact that she's taken clearer, so he wouldn't have to fight battles like that for her.

You’re like the only Drayton focused blog I’ve found and I wanted to bring up something I’ve seen in game but no one talks about.

So every time you beat anyone in the League Club after the player becomes champion, they’ll give you an item as the usual but Drayton is different in how he gives it to you.

For some reason; he’s the only one to give it to the player in what seems like a time when no one is visiting the room. Every other character just gives it to you back in the spot they were when you asked to battle, but Drayton always gives it to you standing in front of the desk where the League Club Room is empty.

I don’t know if it’s got any specific meaning but I always thought it was neat.

But as for what you said 👀 You're so right, I never noticed that before! I had to peek at the couple of screencaps I have of him giving me an item just to double check. I do wonder why that is....can't even guess on an IRL reason in terms of what the devs's thought process could've been. It could just be an oversight, but that's the boring way to regard it.

Maybe Drayton likes doing overtly generous or kind things when no one's really looking? To maintain his cool, detached persona. A lot of characters do imply that he's widely viewed as a person you can't quite get close to emotionally-wise because of how he likes being sly and frivolous. (If that is the case, it's pretty cute and funny. Drayton's a nice person but he doesn't want people thinking he's soft or w/e-)

You’re like the only person I could talk to about Amarys but..

While I’m not like her #1 fan, I do hate how they treated her as a character for the entirety of the DLC. I really like her personality and how stoic and ‘unemotive’ she is but I HATE how they tossed it decently aside to make her the token ‘oh the others in the BBE4 (besides Drayton) actually do care about Kieran because look she has a crush on him!!’

While that’s probably a nuanced way of seeing it, I definitely wish they did a bit more with her character.

You're so valid for feeling this way, because I honestly feel the same way a bit.

I really like Amarys because her personality is a nice change of pace + she's virtually the perfect counter to everyone's chaotic-ness while still being silly in her own right! She has the makings for an interesting backstory too (I wrote a couple of headcanons about it in the past, though they might be on my old acc? I'll have to check). Also, as someone who's black, it makes me very happy to see another blatantly black-coded character in pokemon. Amarys and Ryme are peak. 💜

However, Amarys's crush on Kieran does feel underbaked. Mainly because outside of some humorous moments with the protag, it goes nowhere. We don't even really get the chance to see her interact WITH Kieran, outside of the post-game clubroom dialogue. They're implied to have chemistry together at least as friends, but we get no showing of that in action pretty much. So, why should we care about the crush then? It is disappointing, as is how both DLC stories were handled altogether.

IMO Kieran's villain arc is contrived, which makes the nonsense in Indigo Disk feel like it's pointless - blah blah, I've gone on rants about this before so I won't do it here (unless I'm asked to ofc). All of the DLC characters would've benefitted from a more cohesive story.

What honestly upsets me with Amarys more than how she's done in canon, is how the fandom treats her! I've read a fair amount of Indigo Disk-based fics, and so many authors either half-ass her dialogue (yea she talks in a "robotic" way but it's really not that hard to get down IC-ly) or don't include her in scenes at all - despite all the other E4 members being present. Hm.

I've seen little representation of her in fanart too, especially compared to the others. Hmm.

As the cherry on top: despite how shipping culture never cares about whether a ship actually makes sense or not, I've only ever seen ONE piece of fanart that was remotely Amarys/Kieran flavored. One. Hmmm.

So I know you were having fun and all making this but I spent all day thinking about how the others would react if one of them did in fact die or disappeared.

If Cilan disappeared, the other two would probably be in a major state of confusion and disarray. He seems to be one of the more put together of them and I bet a lot would go crashing down if he wasn’t there. Plus, I like to headcanon he’s the youngest and the two wouldn’t be able to handle running to gym and restaurant without him.

If Chili disappeared, it would be eerily calm and almost peaceful. The two would be able to run everything still but it wouldn’t be the same. He’s the middle child in my hc and I like to imagine that some people don’t even realize he’s missing until Cilan has a breakdown and Cress’ mask breaks.

Lastly, if Cress disappeared I feel like there would be a few sparked arguments out of panic. Chili and Cilan getting really antsy and not being able to take a break or look at one another for too long before making excuses and somehow turning it on one another. Cress was always the calm one and with him missing it’s hard to not freak out entirely.

Anyways..

CLAPPING AND CHEERING! Ok me doing something as a joke is 50% of the time a gateway drug for me to doing it seriously and the other 50% is just so I have plausible deniability if somebody thinks it's cringe. I feel like I've been pretty transparent about how much I love tragedy in a familial setting so I am eating these UP.

When @/billciphermpreg reblogged the murder poll he mentioned that cilan is like the glue of the brothers and I TOTALLY agree. God I think I saw a post too about how in the anime (VERY different characterization from the games but bear w me) cilan is kind of the mediator between his brothers and that in his first appearance he was resolving an argument between ash and Iris? Like its been a bit since I've seen the anime but I do distinctly remember that. Yeah. Cilan was the cool-headed one of the travel trio in BW. W/o cilan a cress and Chili double act just falls apart.

As for Chili he is definitely the driven one. in BW2 he's the most determined to get their gym back while cress is more relaxed and cilan outright says it's fine if they go slow. Without Chili, cilan and cress are completely static.

If Cilan is passive to a fault and Chili is always burning himself out, they need Cress as their medium to reign Chili in and push Cilan forward. Without Cress, Chili and Cilan are oil and water. They're totally incompatible.

Without all three of them, Chili, Cilan, and Cress can't function, not just as the Striaton Trio or as gym leaders, but as people. They claim they want to become stronger, and their teams may objectively be so in BW2, but the fact that the three of them are all still together ultimately unchanging in that restaurant after two years is pretty fucking telling. Tldr?

Noble's Will Au: Warden Trials (Pearl Clan Editon)

Pearl Clan: (first two by @creatingnonsense )

Lian: Participated in a test of staying in one place and not flinching when Lord Kleavor swings their axes close to their body. Was the youngest participant there. Managed to gain the noble's favor by staring them down when they swung their axe-like hand an inch from his face. Gained a "x" scar on his left arm as his marking.

Blessings: Geomancy, ability to summon and sense different types of rocks or geodes in an area. Tough as rock skin, making him durable to most damage. Can use and shape rocks around him as a way to defend or protect himself. Small control of the earth, still learning how to control it.

Calaba: In her younger days, her trail was searching for a personal item that Lord Ursaluna hid itself in the Miralands. Fighting off wild pokemon and wading through pools of mud, her persistence is what gained the noble's favor. Has a large paw marking on her back.

Blessings: Expert level Terraforming, ability to cause mudslides and sandpits along with diging out safe caves and holes. Increased sense of smell, her tracking techniques are unmatched. Has fangs and claws similar to her noble, along with a light layer of fur on her limbs.

Palina: Gave up her chance of becoming a Clan leader to become a warden. Had to walk along a small path of heated volcanic rocks lit by Lord Arcanine, made it to the other side with burns on her feet and hands from losing her balance. Amazed by her determination, Lord Arcanine gave her a flame marking on her ankles for winning his favor.

Blessings: Immunity to heat and fire. Mastery over Pyrokinesis, including lava. Can summon volcanic rock to get across liquid surfaces. Can Generate flames from thin air from her hands and feet. Gained her noble's facial markings along with claws and fangs.

Ingo: An unlikely canidiate due to being an outsider, but was given a chance by Lady Sneasler herself. Participated a trial against other people, receiving a scratch wound caused by the noble laced with their poison, then having to climb up a rocky cliffface without succumbing to the poison's effects. After stumbling a few times, Ingo managed to make it to the top with shaking and very cut up hands. Gained three claw scratches run along his neck, collarbone and upper chest as his marking.

Blessings: Gained expert-like agility and reflexes, along with immunity to poison. Increased speed and ability to climb steep surfaces. Has claws and fangs laced with poison, light fur covering his arms.

Gaeric: Had to take a plunge into freezing cold water before making the trek up to the peak of the Icelands while Lord Avalugg blasted cold air down, making the participant be knocked off the path. Managed to make it up there before sunrise, on his knees half -frozen and slowly succumbing to frostbite. Gained a snowflake tattoo as his forearm as his marking.

Blessings: Immunity to the cold along with immense strength, crystals of ice collect on his skin and harden like armor. Can summon and manipulate snow/ice, along with summons snowstorms.

Bonus one

Irida: Gained the role of clan leader after her older sister, Palina, refused it so to take the Noble Arcanine's trial. After taking the Oath, she takes a trek up to the Temple of Sinnoh at Sundown, getting past obstacles made by the wardens.

Blessings: Gained a pink tattoo of a group of stars between her shoulde blades. Ability to wrap reality around her to travel small distances (teleportation) and a greater affinity with manipulating water of any state around her, including the vapors in the air.

Noble Pokemon names:

Lord Kleavor: Taichi "Great sword"

Lord Ursaluna: Hanzou "Half, to hide"

Lord Arcanine(past): Hiyoshi "Sun's blessing"

Back on my goofiness with Noble's Will Au.

I wish to talk about some habits the wardens pick up from their nobles. Since the warden is now half-pokemon, its common to find them doing weird things. @creatingnonsense , this is for you.

Pearl Clan:

Gaeric and Calaba tend to have days of that random period of time, their bodies end up having a Low Power Mode, in which they sometimes fall asleep or "hibernate" to conserve energy. Gaeric, being a usually high-energy person, tends to have those more often. You'll usually find him asleep in snowbanks or an igloo he made himself. Calaba, after she works on a new healing salve or treating a paitent, will sometimes fall asleep where she's sleeping, not being easily disturbed.

Palina and Ingo, both having claws and fangs from their respective noble, have to keep these sharp, so usually days then scratch or whittle on a piece of wood or stone. With the fangs, they have a habit of chewing on old pieces of bone, leather, or metal , at least anything to keep their fangs sharp. Also tend to run around all fours on a good day. You'll know they've been at a place before when they leave specific scratches on a spot. There is a difference, but the two of them are sometimes spotted together.

The difference is that Palina sometimes gets "zoomies" and just likes to run around, along with standing and sitting in fires or used coals to reheat herself.

Ingo on the other hand, will just start climbing the nearest thing he can get up on, sometimes just perching there for hours. Always lands back on his hands and feet. He sometimes needs to drain extra poison from his claws, so his hands will tend to stain purple. he started using it as " body paint" to make himself a bit more intimidating.

Lian tends to sunbathe a lot in the sun. He also sharpens or dulls the more pointier rocks on his body, just in case. He sometimes just randomly goes to be a tree or rock and try to slash at it, with different results.

Diamond Clan:

Mai, now being part Wydeer, is very skittish, so will end up freezing out of nowhere. She has the horns and attitude of a more male Wydeer, so she tends to be a lot more brash and prone to ram her head into things just to test her strength.

Arezu sunbathes a lot, just to let random flowers grow on her body. Twirls a lot, especailly when shes thinking. Her pollen scent changes depending on her mood, going from sour to bitter when mad to sweet when being joyful.

Iscan trills and gurgles when he's in a good mood, his ear fins reflecting his expressions. standing or sitting in water is a common habit of his, having to keep his scales on his body moist.

Melli flickers off sparks when excited or angry, rocking back and forth to keep himself steady. He also likes to to sit in Lord Electrode's tree, feeling strangely at peace there.

Sabi is still technically a chick, but she's learning how to preen and maintain her wings. Her flapping her wings is always a cute sight, trying to fly but she still has downy feathers. keeps a nest of them when they fall off. She also tends to peep and chirp at anyone she wants attention from.

Great question , so i can start yapping about in game stuff for the Au!!

When the nobles first become frenized, it causes great pain upon the pokemon, their bodies strained from the overamount of power they recieve. The nobles are already pretty powerful beings, but it takes their power up a few notches from where they cant handle.

Due the soul bond the wardens have with their noble pokemon, it affects them as well. It causes their blessing to become overloaded and highly unstable ,along with their emotions, speciffIcally their great worries/fears. Their voices is disorted, both voices of the pokemon and the warden coming out of the warden themselves, swapping back and forth. Neither are aware of whats going on or who they are hurting, just filled with a overwheleming urge to protect and fight.

In order for them to be free both from this pain, they have to stop the noble. But its tricky due to the wardens always staying nearby. They would need to be distacted in order to be defeated.

They are hard to take down, needing more than one person. They are deemed as unstoppable, at least... until a pair of fallers come into Hisui.

Lian: Fearing being left alone or being too annoying. Causes rockfalls and large crystals to spike from the ground to knock back or impale others. Crystal formations appear on the boy's body, making ut hard for him to move.

Dialogue: I WILL CUT YOU DOWN! Am I really too annoying...why do people put up with me... ROCKS WILL SMASH, STONES WILL CUT! Im too odd... WIN, SLASH, WIN AGAIN!

Arezu: Filled with anger, feeling her dreams are unreachable. Covers the land poisonous barbs and plants, dancing down each path. Her own body is overgrown with flowers that drain her, but still keeps going.

Dialogue: MUST BE BEAUTIFUL! UGLY ROOTS WILL TORN OUT! beauty is pain.. dreams arent meant to be made...UGLY THORNS, UGLY THORNS! NO INPURITES IN NY GARDEN!!

Melli: In denial of his pain, doesnt want others to come close as fearing people seeing him as weak. Lightning barrages are frequent, scorching the land around him. Stands on top of the arena, acting as a lightning rod.

Dialogue: POWER,POWER!! T-They cant see me like this! MORE ELECTRICITY, MORE POWER! I-Im no runt!! T-the Great M-Melli always prevails!! THE STORM LIVES, I AM THE STORM, HAHAHAHA!!!

Palina: Overprotective yet saddened mother, feeling as she must protect the pup (now fully grown) from anyone that would hurt them, while screaming how she's failed them. Her fire scorches and burns anything she comes in contact with, pools of lava appear around her.

Dailogue: "PROTECT, PROTECT, PROTECT- I-Im sorry... STAY AWAY FROM MY MOTHER- Unfit, not good... STAY BACK!! I WILL BURN! I.. I have to.. SCORCH!! SCORCH AND BURN!! Y-You cant hurt him!! I wont l-let you!!

Gaeric: lose his smile, feeling he's losing his strength and feeling hes failing his noble and making humself push past his limit. Acts as a moving target to distract anyone from getting close to his stagnant noble.. Cause ice spikes to come from the ground and strong flurries of snow. Body is covered in freezerburns and hardned ice.

Dialogue: Too weak.. Push harder.. TRESSPASSERS.. Break bounds, until lungs crack and bones break... OFF MY MOUNTAIN!! ICE...ETERNAL, EVER COLD... Strength.. will not fail me...

Noble's Will Au: Warden 's Trials (Diamond Edition)

Diamond Clan: (first two trials created by @creatingnonsense )

Mai: Had to stand in a herd of a Stantler and Wydeer, blindfolded, and waiting for the noble to approach after being hit with a lesser Psysheild bash, relying on sound and feeling to dictate whether he or one of his kin approached her. Received a Wydeer hoof print on her shoulder as her marking.

Blessings: Seismic sense and Telekinesis along with increased agility and speed. Gained a pair of small Wydeer antlers and tail. Can create psychic barriers as shields to protect herself and others.

Arezu: Engages in a dance fight against Lady Lilligant, using her leg to combat her. Had to keep up with the noble for hours until she was deemed worthy. Gained a vine-like marking on her right leg for her completion.

Iscan: Had to swim through stormy waters to reach Lord Basculegion at the bottom of the Cobalt Coastlands. Received gills on his neck as his marking.

Blessings: Ability to breathe underwater, has exceptional swimming abilities with webbed fingers and toes. Mastery of Hydrokinesis and summoning rain clouds

Melli: Had to withstand a few blasts of Lord Electrode's lightning storm and not faint. Tanked in 3 rounds of shocks before gaining Lord Electrode's favor. Received a Litchenburg scar across his face and back as his marking.

Blessing: Immunity to electricity and lightning, ability to conduct, deflect and store lightning of his own. Ability to summon small electrical stormclouds above his head.

Sabi: Actually didn't have one. Her mother had a vision of her daughter being the next warden, and the test was that to let the child fulfill the destiny or not. Fearing the wrath of a displeased noble, she presented the little baby Sabi to Lord Braviary. For her mother's trust in them, Sabi was gifted the Warden status, a feather marking appearing on her hand. Soon truly met the noble when she was around 4 years old.

Blessing: Little rufflet wings on her own, has mastery over wind and air. Can Mimickery of bird pokemon's calls

Adaman: Recieved the Role of Clan Leader after his father stepped down. After taking his oath, his trial was to navigiate back to Diamond Settlement before nightfall by himself, avoiding obstacles made by the wardens in his way.

Blessings: Now had a blue marking on his back and arms shaped as the sun and moon. Increased speed and strength along with mastery over metal. Can now speed up or slow down objects or things around him, including himself by touch.
