I don't think Warriors really considers himself a hero as a result of the ugly parts of war and what he's trained to do. It doesn't help that his 'adventure' was actually a war. He does his job and protects the people he cares about but he wouldn't call it heroic.

In the game, he does kill people. Regular people. It is something he is capable of and he would do it again if he had to, especially if that means that the one of the others didn't have to make that choice.

Warriors definitely considers the others to be heroes. He just has complicated feelings when others try to turn it around and apply that to him.

If this sounds familiar, I wrote fanfic a few years ago with this premise. I still like the idea!

AAH YES I LOVE FMA. So. So. Much. It’s the show ever. The only anime I’ve ever fallen head over heels in love with.

Unfortunately I haven’t seen both shows though 😔 Just Brotherhood at this point (which was AMAZING). I’ve also read most of the manga (which is even MORE amazing and I’ll likely binge the rest of it tonight). I mean to watch FMA 03 at some point though

I love Lana. I love Lana so much she's my favourite to play as and as a character her story is amazing I love Lana so so much

The gameplay was so fun!! Like it was so satisfying especially Link's spin attacks.

I freaking HATED playing as Gabodonkadoo I just wanted to get it over with because he SUCKS and I didn't wanna attack Zelda and Link and Impa it was so unfair?? And then it made me as Gaboofork attack Lana TT. I was kind of weirdly proud of all my babies for being so hard to beat while playing as Gonkey tho. Also Garvysailor was at level one starting so I laughed at him for being WEAK to play as. I just tried to get the part playing as him over with fdjuchskrny

Fun fact Goofan (the giant pig version fight) can't hurt you if you stay under him so as Link I stayed under and got him to half health simply by stabbing his legs a lot XD twas fun I thought there was no way that would work, but it did- if Gaboon is too much hide under him

I was NOT expecting to have to fight Midna at first xhcjdkcjosh but after a bit I was like no that's actually pretty on character for her, she's an asshole until she likes you I love Midna so much

also the Goron soldiers were so cute <3 another reason I hated playing as Goofer, I didn't wanna hurt them TT

So I originally got the Wii u version. I didn't want to pay the almost $60 for the switch port when the Wii u version was under ten dollars. Pretty boy was worth eight dollars and seventy four cents to me. ...but then upon playing the game for thirty minutes I ordered the switch version because it was so amazing which I think is pretty accurate to how everyone's thoughts develop towards the hero of warriors

In case yall were curious- there are some major differences between the Wii u and switch version of Hyrule Warriors! One of the main ones is the lack of the side quests and extra content that first appeared in Hyrule Warriors Legends on the 3ds. The Wii u version does not include Young or Toon Link, or Linkle's tale, the Link's awakening addition, etc. Which is what motivated me to get the switch version, which includes everything from all previous versions of the game.

You can play with someone as two-player on both the Switch and Wii u- cut to me spending the past few days trying to rope everyone I set eyes on to play hw with me

Also the definitive edition on Switch is somewhat harder than the Wii u actually. Everything was main quest and urgent on the Wii u, but the Switch version has the introduction of labeled side quests and the Ocarina for warp- this and a couple other things (labeled differently enemies) makes the battles a bit harder to keep up with.

You cannot switch fighters mid-battle on the Wii u

AND SOMETHING I'M MAD ABOUT IS THAT THEY MADE THE GIBDOS POISONOUS ON THE SWITCH THEY DIDN'T DO THAT ON THE WII U VERSION A GIBDO STARTED SPEWING POISON AND I WAS LIKE WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT THAT WAS TOTALLY UNNECESSARY WE WERE ROBBED OF POISON-LESS GIBDOS ON THE SWITCH AND I WANT THE NORMAL ONES BACK

also they made me fight the Imprisoned from sksw again in HW and I was mad about that. I was glad to see the Groosinator tho

When playing as Zelda, the defeat conditions were always labeled for 'if Ruto flees'. I did not understand at first why everything was dependent on Ruto's presence, but then I realised it was only for battles I played Zelda as- you can't lose by Zelda fleeing when you're playing as Zelda fifjdickdog so it reverts to Ruto- the other princess- fleeing. I have not checked this part on the Switch yet.

I love Lana's design she makes me want blue hair again- I have purple hair right now but blue has never worked for me. Hair dye is hard for me because of my naturally red hair- but her blue hair is so pretty I might go for it :)

I didn't like fighting as Fi that much :/ I loved seeing her but as a fighter I liked using the others better. It was satisfying to beat the imprisoned and Ghirahim's butts while being her tho. Kind of righteous since she's made to fight them and always wins :)

I liked seeing Ghirahim again he's my favourite villain.

Impa and shiek Zelda's relationship is so sweet I love them

Hyrule Warriors Zelink is underrated me thinks. I like the aroace Wars headcanons, but I will always love the idea of two souls always finding each other. very romantic. I almost started crying when Zelda said she believes in him suchxifndkst

Sheik using a harp was my favourite weapon in game. I'm a musician and I love the understanding in Zelda that music is badass. hek yeah topple them with your harp strumming

I love Lana so much

Impa was super powerful when fighting her as Gidjdslmcr and I loved it

Something that hit me a lot is how much Cia was a victim in all this too. All I've seen of her made her out to be a purely evil horrible and sexual villain, but she only became that way because Gardonk's magic got into her heart and forced Lana out? Cia has something of my sympathy. I wish she would put on a shirt however. I know she's wearing a dress but I think she deserves the comfort of a baggy t shirt that smells like home.

only playing as one character per battle on the Wii u version meant I didn't get to play as many characters, so I am excited to play more of my babies on the switch.

because of only playing as one character per battle on the Wii u, I also never used Link's fire rod. I played with it now on the Switch and holy cow he's an arsonist

I love that Link's character arc is such a huge part of the game. I knew this before from watching playthroughs, but I still love it.

Wild has absence seizures, and Sky has atonic seizures. They've got a mini support group between the two of them.

Obviously in canon, Wild just has really intense flashbacks, but I've gotten attached to the idea that he never recovers his memory and everything he knows is actually second-hand knowledge from eyewitnesses. Thus, the random moments when he pauses like that are actually absence seizures because the Shrine of Resurrection got a few things wrong neurologically and the absence seizures are part of it.

Sky, on the other hand, has atonic seizures, which are commonly called "drop attacks." He had no idea what was going on until he had a seizure with the Chain, and Wild put two and two together. It doesn't happen very often, but it happens often enough that the others worry about him.

Also, Wild is a curious guy, so I like to think he actually reads a lot, which is one of the reasons why he knows this stuff in the first place. He has to live with it, so he might as well learn about it.

He also decided to work on salvaging and collecting information to rebuild the wealth of information that had been documented prior to the Calamity, and has plans to establish a real library near that school he works at.

YES you can I glad you like him 🥹 I will gladly talk about him. Unfortunately a lot of his story is about his mom being emotionally abusive, so take that in mind.

Due to the way he was raised(or rather the way he was not raised, he was very much neglected most of the time by his mom, he had many emotionally distant nannies)he has terrible self esteem issues. He’s been told his whole life that he will grow up into a monster. But that didn’t really set in for him until he was like 4-5~ish years old. He found an injured bird in his garden, it only having a sprained wing. It would likely have been fine, but young Ganon wanted to help it. But as he approached it, the bird looked at him and immediately died. His mother told him that the bird died because it could sense the evil within him, and died from the shock of how evil he was. Ganon cried a lot that day.

Sheerow-and other animals from Lorule-are not afraid of him. Sheerow is a very nice and playful bird, and Ganon loves spending time with it. When he first met it, he was terrified of how not scared the bird was of him. He thought the bird was also evil for a moment. But with how playful and cute Sheerow acted, Ganon knew that couldn’t be the case. When he first petted the bird, he almost cried, the only reason he didn’t was because he heard Ravio crashing down onto the ground after scaling the garden wall.

Ravio’s also very kind to him, which is an entirely new experience for Ganon. His mom acts nice to him, but even though Ganon is quite young, he quickly picked up on how scared his own mother was of him. Ravio wasn’t scared at all, generally very nice and cheerful. He even showed Ganon a few magic tricks, explaining how he did a few tricks as well. Ravio quickly got dragged away though by the guards thrown right into the prison along with his bird. Ganon was crying the whole time that happened, because he had never been as happy as he was with the short time they were together.

His mother scolded him about interacting with a stranger, talking about how “evil” that man and his bird was. This was also the first time Ganon talked back to his mother, although that was very short lived as his mother kept saying how evil her own son was right to his face. Then a few guards rushed in, Ravio and Sheerow in tow, quickly showing off the Triforce on his hand to them. Rav hurriedly explains about himself, Lorule, and how he needs to find the hero and save the world.

Blah blah blah, more stuff happens and now Ravio is tagging along with Ganon and his mom to Hyrule Castle. Fortunately or not, Ganon’s mom(I need to come up with a name for her someday)doesn’t want to spend much time with her son, so she just leave him in Ravio’s care. He’s the counterpart of the hero, it’ll be fine. And it is! Ganon has never been happier hanging out with Ravio and Sheerow. When they finally get to the castle, Ganon has the puffiest eyes(from all the crying, it’s been a very emotional time for him), and a new father/big brother figure in the form of Ravio.

Uhh more stuff, Ganon has no idea how to fight, he know some very basic techniques from watching some of the warriors train. He would climb up one of the sides of his garden wall just to watch them. He thinks they’re cool. He also has magic but wasn’t allowed to use or practice it, for fearing that he’ll “use them for evil.” He’s very scared of his powers because of this, and is also weary of magic in general. Also his favorite animal is a donkey. He never seen one before, but he heard about how strong and helpful they are despite their small stature-compared to horses-and he kinda looks up to them a bit. He also thinks they are very cute. He wouldn’t be able to ride or interact with one, since Hyrulian animals fear him, but donkeys do exist in Lorule. So if he ever went to Lorule(and this would happen in like the later parts of the story)he would insist upon finding a donkey. Ganon also gains more confidence and self worth as the story goes on.

Warriors can't handle spicy food! I think that's kind of a common headcanon but in Thou Shalt Not Fall, it's because he's wary of fire (one of three things that can kill him for good) and he does not like it when his mouth feels like it's on fire even when it's not.

I think spicy food is one of the things that got ruined when he got turned. He didn't mind it when he was just a regular Hylian but he can't eat it anymore as a vampire.

And my favourite thing about him might just how sleepy he gets. I like that Warriors is not usually 'the sleepy one' but in Thou Shalt Not Fall, he gives Sky a run for his rupees. The others figure out that he needs to sleep a lot sometimes and figure out something else to do because they care and want him to rest up (and also place bets on when he 'crashes' again). He's the only one kind of mad about it - the rest enjoy having a break. He also sleeps best and for the longest when he knows that he's safe in one of their homes. 🥹

It's kind of based on the fact that I'm tired and I can sleep for 10-12 hours if I don't have an alarm on. I'm sleepy all the time but I let Warriors sleep.

I know in my heart Time could walk off into the woods for a bit, maybe because he got overwhelmed and just needed to take a few minutes to himself, and he’d come back with some little deer trailing after him, and that’s just his new buddy. Everyone else (except Wars because he’s used to it at this point) is like “HELLO?? WHERE’D THE DEER COME FROM???” And Time just shrugs and goes about his business and the deer follows him wagging its little tail

YES YESSS YOU GET IT

Time is like a Disney princess in that animals just follow him around without reason. They sense his deep connection to the forest and nature itself (plus I headcanon him being a fairy so there’s that). And they also see how gentle and kind he is.

It’s happened to him his entire life so he doesn’t even realize it’s…not exactly a normal occurrence XD It’s not uncommon for him to have an entire entourage of woodland creatures skipping after him. The Chain has no idea what to make of it
