Rewatching Gravity Falls is insane because Stan plays the weird insane uncle so well and when you think about it for more than two seconds it's like, this man has spent the last thirty years trying to bring his estranged twin brother from an alternate dimension yet he is still like "yeah Im going to make Dipper wear a werewolf suit in order to scam tourists"
actually sometimes being neurodivergent is great bc you have a particular kind of Silly Mode that just . manifests glory. harmless fun is my precious side quest & i have a high score in whimsy. like okay if i gotta be the first dork in the dance pit it's gonna be me and this random toddler and we're gonna avril-style rock ouuuuttt
in hindsight, i rlly like that some of their inevitable conversations aree left covert i love to fill the gaps myself i love to think about their awkwardness :)
Adult PJO fans: "I can't relate to her if she doesn't look like me" "this is disrespectful to book!Annabeth" "I can't see her as the same character if she's black" "blonde, white women are soooo underrepresented in media. No one else can understand 😫"
Meanwhile, the actual demographic the show and books are for:
look gang i know the cishets are going to be annoying about chappell roan like they are with every popular queer artist but we CAN'T gatekeep, because think about how much it would've meant to your little queer self to hear songs about girls kissing girls being played on the radio every single day

- [Ballister]: For protecting the realm.
- [Nimona]: Oh, you mean from villains like you? Or monsters like me?
