September - Would you say you are more or less into CR now compared to 12 months ago?

Hmmm. I'd say a little less? At least when it comes to fandom engagement? I've pulled back a lot in regards to social media and I'm honestly happier and better off for it.

Let's chat Cad! What's your guess as to why Cad decided to open up now (alcohol? Traveler Con ending?) and open up to Yasha? I think it's significant that it was Yasha. I'd argue she's the most accepting / least judgmental member of the M9. Does Cad fear judgement for not really wanting to go back? Or is it because she isn't really one of his 'projects' and thus feels more like an equal to him? Cad is such a mystery to me, so all of those are just wild guesses. Would love to hear your thoughts!

I loved that it was Yasha! To me it felt like a throwback to their earlier easy relationship before Yasha was overtaken by Obann in the King’s Cage. They’d spent some time confiding in each other in the early days of Xhorhas - serious subjects like Cad’s brief death, as well as funny moments where they were both judging everyone else for climbing the giant tree.

So it might have been a bit that he felt Yasha was “healing” and wouldn’t be as burdened with thinking about his perspective, but I also got the sense that Cad has always gotten along well with Yasha, and this was the culmination of him having to take some time to fully regain the easy relationship he had with her pre-The King’s Cage. 

Cad opening up now felt prompted by Veth’s situation. She’s trying to figure out how to be at home and be with the Nein (both things she wants), and Cad is in many ways in a similar situation. He has responsibilities at home, and people he loves there, but he has people he loves and things he wants to do with the Mighty Nein too. Cad vocalizing that so soon after Veth openly demonstrated the issue felt related to me.

104. The Ruined Sliver: If you could change anything about what happened during the main campaign this year, what would it be?

In all honesty, I would change how the Mighty Nein handled the trip to Kamordah and everything tied to it. They all should’ve stepped up in defense of Beau against her father, called him out on his refusal to truly take responsibility. They all should’ve reacted better to how much she didn’t want to go, instead of asking if she would go for the sake of a friend. And that’s the biggest grievance I had about that bit; they didn’t go there for Beau at all, therefore she never truly got anything good aside from meeting TJ. At the very least, they did manage to convince her not to self-sabotage and as a result, she was able to break free of her cycle of misery and truly begin to heal in the process, despite some occasional lingering regression before the peace talks.

That, and you know, they should’ve actually TALKED with her more when she was going through a hard time in plain sight. Or actually listened better instead of talking over her and thus complicating matters.

117. The Tortoise and the Dare: Which big evil creature/NPC that the Mighty Nein have angered in the past will seek revenge on them next year?

If she hunts this far out into Eiselcross, I’m expecting Gelidon to show up again. It’d be quite the interesting grudge match.

I mean I think you can guess 118 (the moon is not in the astral plane. it is very important to me people understand this very simple concept, as most toddlers can grasp it, and the moon theory immediately falls apart upon this realization) so hard no on that. I do have the following philosophical question though: in a setting that is an explicit multiverse including both other planets and other planes, would the term “alien” refer to extraplanar entities as well as extraplanetary ones? Is Artagan an alien? Discuss.

114. I’m guessing this means mentioned but not seen? If so, Sabian! I want to know his whole deal, why he actually blew up the ship, who he actually is to Fjord, why he’s a pirate now, if he watched people set The Squalleater on fire from a distance and was like “hold on...is that Fjord?”

1. campaign one or campaign 2

Oh, that's a tough one. Is it cheating if I say both? I enjoy both a great deal, from their stories to the settings, etc. However, if I had to choose one in this moment? I'd say Campaign 2, only because of how I'm currently feeling post recent CR2 Episode. Caleb Widogast and Beauregard Lionett have changed me. But that's another story.

001 Vaxleth! Give me the pain!

when I started shipping it if I did: From the moment Vax was all, “And I kiss her.” I was Vaxleth from the beginning

my thoughts: This is probably my very favorite CR ship of all time. I love how awkward they are at first and how they sort of grow into each other over 70 or so episodes. 

What makes me happy about them: They. Are. So. Stinking. CUTE. I love that they go to Zephrah during the timeskip, I love that they probably go flying together, I love how much they obviously adore each other. 

What makes me sad about them: Their ending. I knew it was coming when I did my first watch of c1 and I still wasn’t prepared. 

things done in fanfic that annoys me: Stop erasing Vax’s bisexuality. 

things I look for in fanfic: Soft fics! I love domesticity! 

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Vax with Gilmore and Keyleth with Grog

My happily ever after for them: Vax being Consort for Keyleth’s Voice of the Tempest. And half-elf babies!

who is the big spoon/little spoon: I think this changes? I feel like there are times when Keyleth is big spoon and when Vax is.
