why do you think jonsa is happening tho? jonerys is different bc they are going to be enemies, but i don’t see what jonsa does for the story

so let me first lay out roughly what i think is going to happen should jonsa become canon. I personally love going down meta and graphic spirals, so I'm including links to other people’s theories/explanations/graphics of events too - also I would like to shout out @istumpysk because half these metas and gifsets were stuff I found on their blog initially, and also was the one who really convinced me that jonsa is less of a crackship and more of a contender for an actual canon theory, and from there i really found my niche in this fandom. specifically this meta about jon being the mummer's dragon is what pulled me out of my "we're never getting twow and if we do it's just gonna be that stupid dany has jon's magical baby while tyrion watches, then they all die theory" slump and lit my brain on fire again. let's goooo:

The Ashford Tourney Theory - Something Shady goes down at the tourney Petyr has planned that requires Sansa to make a quick getaway, and likely causes her to run into Brienne while fleeing. This theory for me is about hinting at Sansa's romantic future, allies, and how she's getting the hell out of the Vale: both the dark haired, Not Targ Looking Targ Prince that is the son of A Great Prince That Never Was being her romantic endgame but also it's about Brienne (/Dunk) getting her the hell out of there and becoming Sansa's number one ally and protector (with Sansa's number two being Bronze Yohn!! But he's not fleeing with her - if he helps her get out of the Vale, it'll be to cause a distraction or a fight so Sansa can slip away unnoticed. Bronze Yohn is coming with the knights of the Vale later to help defend his girl!).

The Girl In Grey - Out of options on where to go, Sansa & Brienne makes a long, fast, and dangerous trek to the only family she knows is still alive: Jon Snow at the Wall. No, I don't think Alys Karstark is the girl in grey on a dying horse; I think she's a red herring, the same as the scene where Sweetrobin destroys the snow castle, and that the real girl in grey (who slays the savage giant) is Sansa. Melisandre says that she sees "Jon's sister" but doesn't specify more than that, or how she knows it's Jon's sister, even - why would she assume Alys is Jon's sister and not some random Northern girl? Why was she so sure that it was his sister? It's because Alys isn't the girl in grey, it's Sansa, her horse dying because she's traveled halfway across the continent with Brienne and Pod, desperately trying to keep ahead of the dozens of people hunting her down.

The Blood of Winterfell - Sansa and Jon will reclaim winterfell together. This one is similar to above; just like Alys was a red herring, the scene where Sansa rebuilds the castle has a lot of foreshadowing (imo) but that isn't the moment in the prophecy Arya hears. The Savage Giant is Littlefinger, the castle of snow is Winterfell, and Sansa is going to liberate her home alongside Jon and what's left of the Northern lords.

Stone and Snow Remains - THIS is where Sansa and Jon will fall in love while fighting for the North. This is also the part where you lose a lot of people, because they think the evidence is real weak sauce but like, I also think the Jonerys "evidence" is weak af too (and no wonder, we have at minimum 2k pages left to get through!!). There's several believed foreshadowing points to this one, bare with me for this weird ass formatting because I can't do sub bullet points on tumblr:

1. Sansa's linking of snow with love and affection - "drifting snowflakes brushed her face as light as lover’s kisses, and melted on her cheeks...She could feel the snow on her lashes, taste it on her lips. It was the taste of Winterfell. The taste of innocence. The taste of dreams." along with her snow maiden and snow knight.

2. Bael the Bard and the Rose of Winterfell - the chapter where Sansa gets her period for the first time, Cersei refers to it as “flowering” a dozen times, linking being a maiden (a young girl, not quite of age or just barely of age) to flowers and several people refer to sex as ~plucking. Also notice the one who stole her from KL is Lord BAELish.

3. Aemon the Dragonknight & Queen Naerys - Sansa compares herself to Naerys, Joffrey to Aegon, and wishes for an Aemon, among the many similarities between her life and Naerys'. Jon not only calls himself Aemon, he has a deep connection with a different Aemon Targaryen. And if you’re thinking “Sansa isn’t Naerys, X is Naerys” I would remind you that Sansa as a character existed first, George purposefully had her compare herself to Naerys, and parallels don't belong to just one character.

4. Jenny of Oldstones and The Prince of Dragonflies - there's honestly a lot of parallels between them but like the Aemon/Naerys parallel, the Jenny/Duncan one stands out to me.

5. Janos Slynt - I mean. Iconic. This was the scene that made me first think about what their relationship could be in the future and there’s a reason Jonsas fixate on it. It’s about Sansa being desperate for a hero and the hero she dreamed about being Jon the whole time. 6. Societal Alienation - There's the bastard parallels here, the "it would be so sweet to see him again", the "Winterfell belongs to my sister, Sansa." It's about how Jon, through circumstances of his birth, finds himself alienated from the rest of society and reconnects with his prim and proper sister Sansa, who finds herself alienated from the rest of society as well but for vastly different reasons.

Robb’s Will - Howland is going to show up in the North, along with Maege and Galbert, with some WILD news about why Jon can’t rule Winterfell. There’s a lot of contention around this. Bran probably shows up around this time too, and Arya gets to the Riverlands to discover Lady Stoneheart and give her the gift of mercy. This is where all the inheritance stuff is going to happen and I have no idea how it's going to go down besides it's going to be messy as all fuck.

The Pact Of Ice And Fire - Jon & Sansa get secret married bc they’re in love, not siblings, & jon is the only man she trusts not to steal her claim. This isn't the only possible foreshadowing instance of a marriage either - some believe the Sandor/Sansa scene during the Battle of the Blackwater is foreshadowing as well (personally I feel that's a bit of a stretch but I wanted to include it anyway).

Jon As An Envoy - I talked about this in my "what's Jon's ending" a little but I believe Jon will act as an envoy for either Sansa or Bran to Aegon VI, essentially playing out a similar story that he does in the show with Daenerys. By which I mean, Jon is not the King because the ruler themselves do not go as an envoy, that’s stupid and dangerous, but he goes as an ambassador for Sansa or Bran, to treat with a new claimant to the Iron Throne that is gaining support - Aegon VI & Jon Connington. They will probably clash, Jon will probably have yet another identity crisis, there had BETTER be gay incest subtext, then Aegon dies, and Jon has his sixth quarter life crisis in a row.

“King” of the Gift - again, something I touched on in my Jon meta is that I think he’s going to have a hand in resettling the Gift. Personally, I think it's likely that Jon leaves to protect the claims of his siblings (see: Duncan and Jenny) and goes to the Gift to help resettle it to keep out of the way. This ending is typically referred to as the "bael the bard" ending but i like to think of it as the "brandon's gift" ending instead - though he is not physically with his family, Jon feels fulfilled having confirmed his family loves him through reclaiming Winterfell and marrying Sansa, being reunited with Arya, and being given the Gift by Bran. Sansa claims her children were fathered by a wolf.

So…what does all this do for the story?

Well, in my opinion, several things.

I think the main barrier here is that most people in the greater fandom describe Sansa's story as ~growing past childish wants~ and Jon's as ~rejecting love~ and I do not agree with either of those takes even a little bit. This is where (imo) the dividing line between Jonsas and the rest of the fandom is. I don’t think the answer to Sansa’s question “will anyone ever marry me for love” is going to be “nah" - that's not just a sad story to me (wanting to be married isn't childish! craving intimacy and understanding isn't childish! it's also not wrong for a child to be childish!), I think the idea that Sansa (or Jon) will not find another love just doesn't line up with how George approaches his story. Who Sansa's husband will be has been such a big question, and her story is so heavy into the more romantic tropes like courtly love and chivalry and the line between politics and love and identity, that the question of Sansa's hand in marriage will be plot relevant. I also think it's kinda naive of people to pretend like George isn't very interested in the sexual dynamics of the characters he writes about (yeah, sure, no woman needs a man but "needing a man" is not what this is about. look at everything this man wrote in F&B and tell me he is going to write a female character that longs for sex and desire and doesn't get it!).

After AGOT, nearly every time Sansa thinks about marriage involves her longing for love but believing she will never get it because a man will only ever love her for her claim. Giving her a man - like Jon - who not only will not steal her claim and in fact has defended it twice over already, who will love her for who she is and not what she can give him, is a really important aspect of her story in my opinion.

As for Jon, I am even more firmly against the opinion that his story is about rejecting love; Jon’s story is about wanting to be a good man, to measure up to his father ~despite~ his bastard blood. When Aemon asks if Ned would choose honor over love and Jon stubbornly says yes, Jon is wrong and it’s important to not forget that. Ned has never once in his entire life chosen honor over love; he chooses his daughter’s life over his honor, he chooses his sister & her son’s life over honor, he chooses Arya & Nymeria over honor, and on and on!!! Ned chooses love at almost turn but none of his children know that just yet - look at Robb choosing Jeyne’s honor over his own and how upset he is at the idea that Ned would be disappointed despite the fact that Ned would have understand Robb’s decision! Jon's whole arc is tied up in realizing that it is not wrong or dirty to feel and choose love, passion, and desire and if he never has another romantic arc again, I think you lose the second part of that lesson which is "you are responsible for how you act when you feel love but that doesn't mean that simply choosing love makes you a bad person."

There's also the fact that George has talked a lot about "who lives, who dies, who gets married" and yet we have not one marriage at the end of the show AND there's not a lot of guesses at what "who gets married" means besides Jon/erys (and even if Jonsa doesn't happen, I simply do not see Jon/erys happening. they are not similar enough, they will not be in the same space for long enough, and they are on wildlly different trajectories for their story, they are not getting married let alone having sex). I think Jonsa fits that bill very well.

These various theories - from Sansa being queen, Jon living in exile, The Ashford Tourney Theory, the secret marriage, every one of them - are ideas and themes that I have really been thinking about for about 12 years now. I think Jon and Sansa's relationship could fit with the themes in their stories, the overarching themes in the books, and my own personal opinions. I think it gives George a great opportunity to delve into the courtly love aspects he enjoys so much, as well as delve into inheritance, legacy, legitimacy, honor, incest (yes, that too), and above all, what George himself has said the whole series is about - love. The human heart in conflict with itself is what I think Jon and Sansa as a romantic couple does for the series.

Hat Kid and Mustache Girl become sort of friends again after the whole time thing. I mean, it takes a bit, but they kinda figure it out.

Cooking Cat looks after Mustache Girl. After the game she heads back down to the planet to make sure the Mafia don't start a plague again and just. Adopts Mu. Like "wow this kid almost killed us but like. damn she needs some food she's been livin in a cave." and then later gets like. Mustache lore (whatever exactly the fuck happened with the Mafia is. very much traumatizing and Not Good for this kid to almost destroy the world because of it) and that moment is like "Alright im takin care of this kid fuck yall"

Crackship between Cooking Cat and Empress. Listen, I think it would be kinda funny alright.

Dadtcher is one of my favorite collective fandom headcanons

Bow Kid spends a lot of time with DJ Grooves and Conductor and ends up learning how to dj a bit from Grooves.

She also spends a lot of time in Nyakuza Metro. She's knows pretty much every cat down there by name. Even the trains!

Hat Kid starts picking up a lot of mannerisms from Snatcher because he pretty much lives in her ship now and sometimes when Cooking Cat is there and she checks on her, she swears she sees Hat's eyes glowing. Could just be lighting, though...

Every few weeks there's a game night where the cast shows up on Hat's ship and almost destroy it because Bow keeps winning at Uno, Snatcher keeps winning at Monopoly, Cookie (Cooking Cat, easier typing Cookie) has no idea what the hell is happening and is staying in the kitchen (very much keeping the Conductor out), and Conductor and Grooves keep arguing over stupid shit.

I think Snatcher could purr. Maybe. He's some sort of fuckin ghost thing, he already has the fur stuff on his neck (I know it's supposed to resemble his hair from when he was alive, but I think ghost shit turned it into fur.), so I think he should be allowed to purr.

Hat constantly wakes up from nightmares about Vanessa. She's only been in that mansion a handful of times but by the gods that woman is terrifying.

It's one of the reasons Snatcher stays on the ship. He knows Vanessa's fucked up from experience and this kid's like what. 12? yeah no he is not letting shit happen to this kid. He tends to find some way to comfort Hat back to sleep. He denies everything in the morning however because he's totally not her dad /s he doesnt care what happens to the kid he just wants her soul /s

Omg let Wig!Veronica liiiiive!! I know how you feel tho, like it would suck to crackship something so long and then only get served a little taste of what could have been. And it’s tough especially when so much of this fandom (and even some reviewers) are obviously gunning for Veronica to get some bullshit strong single female ending or pair her off with Reggie again. I’m not really taking any stock in people who insist it’s all going back to the exact couples and exact set up as S6, because Tabitha already told us what is going to happen? (And because I don’t think the writers are that boring??)

And I don’t think they would be going out of their way to show how compatible Jeronica are just to dump them back in the present with an amicable handshake?

Like yes they have this happy little bubble right now that is going to burst when other players enter the stage again. But that is a normal arc of a romantic plot anyway. People fall in love, they face conflict, they come apart, they find a way back to each other.

And obviously they are stirring everything up to make the last few episodes a whole lot of will-they-wont-they scenarios. With the exception of Cheryl and Toni. (I would guess Midge is alive in the new present and married to Fangs instead of Toni?)

So I think we have a really good chance of seeing them back together in the present. I don’t know if it’ll be angsty or fluffy or he’ll be chasing her down to the airport and they’ll go to Paris together or if he shows up at her door to kiss her or maybe he just wakes up in the present with no memory of before and she’s sleeping next to him. But we’ll see them in the present in some way. I don’t think the show is going to give them a miserable ending, not with all these comparisons to married couples they keep making. Don't forget there's also infinite timelines and universes! Maybe we'll see more than one outcome? Or Veronica will choose an AU where she can be with her own Jughead.

I’m choosing to be positive, and even if it doesn’t turn out how we hope, they canonically fell for each other when given a second chance to meet again? Which is something we’ve been speculating about all along so like, small victories, right? Enjoy it episode to episode and don’t overthink the ending yet! Because you know our fandom’s production studio will fix it if we are not satisfied anyway!

Many of these terms have multiple different definitions that depend on the situation, but to keep matching easier and to make sure no one receives content that might make them uncomfortable, we tried to come up with simple definitions for this event's purposes.

Relationships and Shipping

Shipping means simply relationships between characters. Character names separated by / refers to a romantic relationship, whereas & signifies platonic or friendship. So asking for Chivalry/Rurisk means you want the two to be romantically involved and Chivalry&Rurisk would mean that you want to see/read about the two being just friends.

Please make sure you use the correct forms in your request and offer, this is important for matching purposes.

You can add as many ships as you want to  your request.

Gen/genfic

Not focused on romance or sexual relationship, for general audiences

Smut

Smut is shorthand for sexually explicit content. We know that's not everyone's cup of tea, and that's why it's important to be clear whether you want to receive or create some or not. Do not add smut if your giftee didn't specifically say they want it/are okay with it.

PWP

Porn without plot. despite the name, PWP stories can have elements other than sex, but the sex is the most important part

Dubcon and noncon

Dubious consent and no consent, these terms refer to fanworks with consent issues. As these can be very triggering to people, do not include these in your gift unless your giftee has specifically said they're ok with it.

H/C

Hurt/comfort. A character is sick/injured/harmed in some way and is cared for by another character. Usually expected to have happy endings.

NoTP

NoTP refers to ships a person does not want to see. If your giftee mentions they don't want to see a certain ship, do not add it into your gift, even as a background ship.

BroTP

Two characters as BFFs, this is your fave pair of platonic soulmates, not romantic or sexual

OT3

A throuple, a romantic/sexual relationship between three characters 

Crack/crackship/crack pair

A ship between characters that might have never met in canon, weren't alive at the same time or are in some other way an extremely unlikely or hilariously impossible match.

AU

Alternative universe, usually refers to stories set in the modern world or some other specific age or setting like space, ancient Rome, steampunk or Louis XIV's Versailles

Canon divergence

A fanwork that differs from canon but not as extremely as an AU, usually because the creator changed a major canon event. What if Fitz hadn't died in the dungeon but gone to trial instead? What if Kettricken had died of the poison instead of Rurisk?

Canon Compliant

Fanworks that do not deviate from canon. Missing scenes or scenes told from a different POV, for example, what was going through Patience's mind when she heard about her husband's infidelity?

Fluff

Teeth-rottingly sweet, nothing sad or angsty here. Antidote to sadness, fluff fics are cuteness for the sake of cuteness. Ignore the Forged ones roaming the forest, we're playing with mice and having ginger cakes in a cuddle pile.

DDDNE

Dead dove, do not eat, or Exactly what it says on the tin, refers to fanworks with extreme subject matter like SA, vore, necrophilia, bestiality. Used to signify that the work contains exactly what the tags say. DO NOT USE THIS TAG WITHOUT CLEAR WARNINGS FOR WHAT THE DDDNE CONTENT IS 

Squick

Squick is a trope or a thing that gives a person the creeps, not enough to be a trigger but still something they don't want to see/read about.

Bashing

This means content created just to express dislike for a character or a ship. While this can be fun and a good way to vent, WF is not the place for it. This is a positive event, please don't request or offer bash content. If you dislike a character or a ship, just mentioning that you don't want to receive any content with them in your request is enough.

Prompt and tropes

Prompts are ideas for your gift maker to draw inspiration from. Feel free to add as many as you can think of. Moods, songs, scenes, anything can be a prompt. Try not to make your prompts too restricting or overly detailed, they're supposed to be for inspiration, not an order.

Tropes are themes that reoccur in fiction and media. Friends to lovers, arranged marriage, fake dating etc.

of course I couldn't participate in a crackship week and not do one of my absolute fave cracks. when I first came up with the idea for these chaos beans all those many moons ago I didn't expect it to divulge into any direction past a quick discussion and some light hearted consideration. but after the valentine's day challenge I had this year (and the first moonthalar fic I ever wrote) they've been one of my bigger and most favored crackships. this is also very much due to Cass' encouragement and enthusiasm over them. anyway please enjoy <3

They braid each other's hair. Like often super often. It's therapeutic for both of them. And it calms Hunt down. Fenrys is more sensitive on his head so he doesn't let many people touch it. But he will curl up next to Hunt and guaranteed five seconds later fingers will be carding and twisting and plating.

They have matching tattooes. Two links from a chain, with one of the links breaking open. It means all sorts of things for them. The first being that they did and can break free from whatever shackles them.

They both adore sweatpants. But if they need to dress to the occasion holy shit do they go for it.

Fave times of day are 12-3am and Sunday mornings. They love the quiet. It's like they're in a bubble floating above the earth, untouched by the chaos of their realities

Fenrys can bake anything and Hunt takes full advantage of this.

Neither of them can cook for shit though. But Hunt is still better than Fenrys. There's been one too many pasta-sauce-on-the-ceiling-stains to let Fen in the kitchen by himself.

Hunt loves eating pancakes right off the pan. Fenrys will be whipping them up in the morning and Hunt is sitting there being fed as the spatula lifts it up.

They're so fucking indulgent of each other. Fenrys says he wants a specific type of shower gel and Hunt is purchasing fifty bottles of the stuff three seconds later.

Hunt wants dessert at the restaurant even though both of them know he's never gonna eat more than one bite and Fenrys orders the entire dessert menu and feeds him whatever he wants.

They just cannot deny each other. They've been denied everything from happiness to freedom to simple choice for so long.

It's not really about extremes. It's about knowing where they fall.

They're the tall couple :/ you know the ones that tower over literally everyone and it's actually just disrespectful you feel like you're talking to the clouds. But still Fenrys is the shorter one by nothing more than a hairs breadth and a tiny rise on the toes but still! Hunt lordes his extra millimeters over his boyfriend like a trophy.

It also makes getting top shelf stuff an absolute spectacle.

Hunt is always pressing himself up behind Fenrys whispering in his ear, "can't reach baby?" "Want me to get that my love?""Here let me help you mi corazoñ""you sure you're okay sweetheart?"

Speaking of, they use a frankly disturbing amount of petnames. Hunt speaks three languages and he knows like ten endearments in each of them. Fenrys positively melts at all of them.

His faves to call Hunt though is "baby" or "mi cielo". Just something about the way Hunt goes mindless when he hears it.

Hunt is scarrryyyyy organized. Like plans for everything he could possibly plan for organized. Like has different colours for different events on the calendar organized. Like needs three to five business days to change his schedule organized.

Fenrys on the other hand will wake up and decide he wants to go river rafting in the afternoon.

It's actually hilarious to their friends to see them argue about it. Hunt says he has three different things to do in the day and they all have to be done by 5pm and Fenrys says "I'm coming to pick you up at 1 for lunch I will drag you out of that building if I have to."

So far as popular ships go, though, there's a couple I don't really get. The one I least understand is zukka. Literally where did its huge popularity come from, if you want to ship two guys (which so far as I can tell is one of the main draws?) then, well, both sokkaang and jetko have more canon basis. Is this partly just me being salty that two ships I love that have actual canon grounding are ignored most of the time (one more so than the other) in favor of something that is pretty much a crackship? noooo (yes)

10. Most disliked arc? Why?

This part got long enough that I decided to put it under a cut.

Hmm ok, so this is a hard one. There's a few arcs I have significant issues with. The one I think I dislike most strongly is Aang's arc, though. Like, they had most of an amazing growing up arc (emotional dependence to emotional independence, it could have been so cool) all done, and then just. Completely flubbed the ending!

They started setting it up in the very first episode, when Aang sees Katara and forms an instantaneous attachment. All through Book 1 it stays a healthy relationship, where they get closer and make mistakes and work through them. There's foreshadowing for what will come later, but for now it's a good, healthy friendship.

Then in Book 2, we get the first real signs of trouble. We're shown in The Avatar State that Aang's emotional dependence on Katara has grown- he'd needed her support before, for instance when he saw his mentor's corpse, that was a completely reasonable time for him to rely on her. But here she doubtless needed more support than he did since she'd just been buried alive, and had to turn right around and calm him down instead. As Book 2 progresses, this is not addressed, and his emotional dependence on her only grows.

At the end of Book 2 is another key moment in this arc, where he's forced to begin to confront the fact that he feels like he needs Katara specifically for emotional support, as opposed to friendships in general. Book 3 doesn't do as well with this arc (hardly surprising, given what Book 3 was like in general), but there's still enough support for this arc that it feels like they could have stuck the landing with a few tweaks.

But by the end, nothing is actually resolved here, at least not in a way that makes sense. We see Aang so close to a good end to this arc at the beginning of the canon finale, and then at the very end we see an Aang who seems like he could almost be the one at the end of this arc, but there's no character development in between, just a bunch of glowing. GLOWING IS NOT CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!!!

What really gets me here is how easy it would have been to make this an absolutely beautiful character arc, just by changing some of the details.

Change the focus from shipping to buildup for Aang learning not to use Katara as an emotional crutch, take away the kisses (especially if you want ka to be endgame), either remove Ember Island Players or completely rewrite it.

Show Aang realizing Katara isn't the perfect angel he built her up as in his head, show him beginning to accept that (the episode with Hama could be a great place to start this part, TSR is another good place to work on this stuff).

Keep him running away right before Sozin's comet, but for goodness sake give him some agency in it instead of having a lion turtle come by and hypnotize him. Have him choose to leave, with the intent to come back and fight Ozai, even kill him if he has to, but he's damn well going to try everything besides killing him first. So he waterbends his way out to a sandbar, bends himself a tiny island, and starts meditating.

He doesn't get quite the same answers from the past Avatars in this- I'm thinking Yangchen probably encourages him to look for an alternate solution, but reminds him to do what is necessary, even kill if he has to. He ends up using meditation to unblock his chakras, on a very visible time crunch because he headed to the coast of the Earth Kingdom to be sure he'd be there when Ozai arrived.

He's in the Avatar State during the fight, and in control, but it's not just ~magical glowing that does everything for him~ he has to actually fight. It's the hardest fight of his life so far- Ozai is powerful, and he's inexperienced. He's struggling, trying to hold Ozai off without killing or significantly injuring him, hoping against hope he won't have to use lethal force. Maybe at one point he hits Ozai hard enough to stun him and almost has a breakdown but then Ozai gets up.

Anyway, how the fight ends is he knocks Ozai to the ground and traps him like General Fong trapped Katara, all the way back at the start of Book 2. He doesn't use energybending and he doesn't need to, because with a little creativity (and embracing earthbending) he finds a nonviolent solution that we already knew was a thing that could happen. This should have been canon fight me

Oh and then if you're doing the ka version, instead of a kiss at the end Katara and Aang have a really sweet heart-to-heart where they both agree they're not ready for a romantic relationship yet, even though they both have feelings for each other they need more stability first and want their friendship to be a constant in a quickly-changing world. Because their friendship means the world to them.

End on a hopeful note with them holding hands, and boom! You've turned ka into something I actually like! Heck, you get the details right and you just turned ka into a ship I think about and write about and care about to a degree most would consider excessive!!

All these arguments about age make no sense. Elain, Nestha and Feyre are new too. In fact, Feyre was very young when she started to bond with Rhys

All this ship warfare doesn't make sense to me either, like you changing my mind will change what in the next book? nothing. So ship whoever you want I'll also ship whoever I want and that's it.

I think that these people need to get into the anime fandons, we end up shipping characters that have never even spoken, there are several fanarts and fanfics about. To this day I read Sasuke's fanfic with Hinata, or Itachi's with Hinata from the anime Naruto they never spoke and everything's ok. Neji died and I pretend it was a delusion and I keep reading his fanfic with other people. Because it's about my perception and what I'd like to read about, that's why there are fanfics and fanarts about.

The arguments regarding age are one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen. I try to don't be intransigent about what people think of ships and things like that, because, as you said, we changing each other's minds is not gonna change the book and everyone can ship whatever they want + just as I think some of their arguments are dumb, they might think the same about me, you know? it a becomes matter of opinion

But the age one? (amongst some others) It's a big no no. Like,

1) The author herself said that Gwyn is not a child, so what's the point of trying to fight that? (it's embarrassing)

2) Gwyn is 28, which means that she's older than Nesta (25), Elain (23/24?) and Feyre (22). So, if someone is so uncomfortable with their age differences with the bat boys (who are in their 530's) that person should not be reading acotar. Besides, they're just being hypocrites (no offense), they are not uncomfortable with Feysand or Nessian, they only talk about it when it regards Gwyn (who, again, is older than Elain, so they're just contradicting themselves)

3) Then they talk about how faes age differently, which yes, it was stated at one point (first book I think?) but is contradicted many times. Example: bat boys and Mor fought in the war when they were 30. So, did they fight in it when they were children?? hmmmm I don't think so (if they wanna talk about this, they should talk about its inconsistency through the books or something like that)

4) And, also, they only bring it up when discussing sex. Not a word about how inappropriate it is for a "child" to fight in the blood rite (I wonder what that says about them)

5) Then, after the age argument was refuted by Sarah's live, they changed it. "Gwyn has a childish behaviour" Oh ... because she's lively and makes friendship bracelets? Like, ok ... you heartless person.

It makes literally no sense and it's a bit ridiculous that we still need to discuss this when the author refuted it. + I think the whole "Gwyn is a SA survivor, therefore she will never be comfortable in a relationship with sex" is extremist (if you get what I'm saying), because it seems that they're decreasing Gwyn to only her trauma. I have never been in a situation like Gwyn's so I don't feel like it's my place to talk about it, but I feel like Gwyn is gonna give her baby steps. She's reading those novels with Nesta and Emerie and has shown some curiosity about sex. Besides, relationships are not just about sex.

And, yes, fandoms are spaces for people to have fun and show their perceptions about a book, a game, a movie and so on. That's ok! We're all here to have a good time and not everything needs to be canon in a fandom. You anon, you are 100% correct. There is no issue with reading a Sasuke x Hinata fanfic, pretending that Neji is alive while reading his fanfic (I pretend that he's alive in my heart) or shipping Elain x Tarquin and Eris x Tarquin, like, they're crackships and there's nothing wrong with it.

However, I do think that when people are discussing theories or analyzing characters it's important to remember what is canon and what is fanon, especially, when some people's fanon claims (that some believe are canon) are harmful and disrespectful towards other people in the fandom. Example: some racist and sexist comments that happened around here and people who were bothered by it or that felt uncomfortable by it spoke up, because this is not one of those things that is "oh, but this is my opinion", like no. When being called out for such things I think the best course of action is to see what are the harmful things you're saying and attempt change.

Even if it is very utopian, I think the fandom should try to do better in these things.

I have WIPs and concepts you guys don't even know about. Also I'm gonna go old-school for these ones and talk about my not-at-the-top-of-my-brain fandoms.

"Werewolf of London": Everyone Lives AU Phantom Blood sequel where Jonathan buys a cursed moonstone pendant that attaches itself to him and turns him into a werewolf after the gem is exposed to a certain amount of moonlight. While werewolf JoJo is not vicious, as the Moonstone Pendant does not create monsters, only exposes the monster beneath, he's still a danger to those around him because he doesn't realize his own size and strength and how sharp his teeth and claws are. The only way the string can be cut is with a knife carved out of sunstone and charged with hamon. The PB crew have to go to the Spectrum Mine in Plush, Oregon to get a piece of sunstone big enough. Cross-country roadtrip! With Stand Users, possibly! I never really fleshed it out beyond that.

"How Mumen Rider (Accidentally) Stole Christmas": A fic written entirely in verse (except for Saitama's dialog, where he wonders why everyone else is speaking in rhyme) in which on his Christmas Eve patrols Mumen Rider spots someone trying to break into Saitama's apartment and apprehends them. Surprise, it's actually Santa! Genos and Saitama encounter angry reindeer on the roof and put 2 and 2 together and they decide to do the remaining deliveries themselves. Meanwhile Mumen Rider is trying to take this dude who claims to be Santa to the police station, but stuff keeps happening to hinder his progress. That's all I got.

"Ice Scream Date": This one is... whew. First of all, it's a JJBA and Steven Universe crossover with a crackship taken seriously, let's just get that out of way upfront. Okay, so, first of all everyone in Vento Aureo is alive somehow because of Requiem shenanigans. La Squadra Esecuzioni are around and are getting better treatment because Giorno knows that they're capable dudes because of the original timeline. Anyways, Ghiaccio gets an online girlfriend. She's an ice sculptor from America and posts her work on Instagram and it impressed him so they started messaging each other and they hit it off. Anyways, Giorno is going to America on business and wants some of La Squadra Esecuzioni to do guard duty. Ghiaccio doesn't really care all that much until Sorbet and Gelato do some sleuthing and find out they're going to the town his online girlfriend lives: Beach City. So yeah they go there, Ghiaccio and Pesci are split off to guard Narancia and Mista, and shenanigans ensue. The couple meet and it turns out the online girlfriend is Little Larimar. They have a date and it's fun and just propaganda for my weird screaming ice gremlins crackship. It's actually pretty far along so I hope I can post it some day.

Hi, I'm a former Hetalia fan just dropping by. You seem really chill and I like your attitude toward the fanbase. Especially toward shipping. I feel Hetalians get so caught up in stuff like that because the fandom is so ship-based, but it's nearly impossible to find a pure pairing without bordering on crackships. Oftentimes it seems really inconsistent as well? I remember a time where certain GerAus blogs were harrassed for supposedly shipping incest, but I don't recall PruAus, a much more popular pairing, getting anywhere near that amount of hate, even though it could be considered incest by the same logic.

Hetalia was a good early fandom experience for me because it taught me that not everything I came across was going to be my taste, and that was fine. Some stuff was going to be downright disgusting to me, and that was fine. All I had to do was block the tags and mind my business if no one was actually being hurt.

It's a shame that you are only passing by... Even if you don't stick to the fandom, at least you must watch the new season and the Manga new chapters 😉 and thank you 😘💕

I sincerely didn't understood the Hetalia fandom... By the time that the fandom was considered dead, it was rare the fans that tried to make a spark on the fandom... But if it was DRAMA!!! The amount of reblogs and interaction on that post was surreal! Was Drama more important than supporting content creators, when they were the ones keeping the fandom basically alive? Make yourself so busy shipping... Adoring characters... Reading Fanfiction... Doing what you LOVE... OR WHATEVER, that you won't have time for b*llsh*t drama/ fights/ hate.
