Thoughts I had about Captain John Price as a dad

i wrote this while keeping an entirely straight face because I was out with my parents :) and they put up with a lot, but I doubt they'd be able to come to terms with the fact that I am currently simping over pixels

-absolutely calls his kids (especially his daughters) Precious. Like they fall while learning to ride their bikes? "C'mon precious. What do we do if we fall? We wipe our tears and get back up to try again. That's my girl."

-Is proud of the good that he's done, but never ever wants his kid to follow in his footsteps by joining the military. He can't even consider the thought of his precious kids being out in the kind of danger he's been in

-wants to keep his kids as safe and innocent as possible because god damn he knows how shitty the world is. But he's a straight shooter. he won't bullshit his kids.

-Wants to be stern if they do something wrong, but just.. just look at them honey they're so god damn sweet. How can I punish that face? You're gonna have to be the stern parent.

-Him getting all up in arms when one of your kids comes home from school upset. literally almost breathing fire as you try to calm him down. You haven't even heard what was wrong so how can he fix it if he doesnt know what the problem is. you leave him huffing and puffing downstairs and go up to your kid's bedroom to see what happened

-will blush and secretly enjoy you teasingly calling him papa bear once the situation is resolved

Not a request, but not sure how best to add this: I'm waiting for the day when a legend/ musical-memelord (e.g. Neil Cicierega) makes a song that needs to be split up into "every other beat" (or some other variation) to unlock the song's full potential(s).

Pirates of the Caribbean Dynamic Duos

Ramblings under the cut:

We purposely did not include the main romantic pairs from the movies (Will & Elizabeth, Elizabeth & Jack, Elizabeth & Norrington, Calypso & Davy Jones, Philip & Syrena, Jack & Angelica, Henry & Carina...) but that's not saying if you see romance up there it's a wrong interpretation (at least not for the human pairs)

Of the 9 pairs, 8 are in the movies (definitely the trilogy). Anne and Mary are the painted ladies visitors see while standing in line for the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. They were supposed to be worked into other places, the rides and movies both, but it never panned out. Scarlett and Giselle are the pair of working women who slap Jack multiple times, their story is explained in a short. We went looking for Ladies to include.

We included Sumbhajee and Askay solely because of Askay casting the vote for Sumbhajee for Sumbhajee. It lives rent free.

Jack (not the monkey) gets two pairs because we say a list of this very concept which included "Jack and the Black Pearl" and had to go with it, BUT we did want to honor Gibbs too (plus we felt Gibbs was a truer pair than Will or Barbossa for Jack).

Finally we are expecting Murtogg & Mullroy and Pintel & Ragetti to be leading, but we do live to be surprised!

It's Ghost, always has been ♥‿♥

I'm so glad they decided to Reboot the series. Again, the OG is unique so is the Reboot, to me. As is Ghost. Every 'version' of Ghost (OG +comic, MW19 and MW22) is where it's supposed to be, they all did an amazing job! My love for Ghost started with the OG, so he kinda already had a head start back when MWII(2022) promo started :3 i was kinda sure they wouldn't fuck up Samuel's Ghost. But omg Price was the one who got me back into CoD (lore) in 2019, that's why John is also special to me :# Since the last CoD Price i saw before Reboot Price was Cpt. Price in shorts 😭 ('03/04) but rambling on. (2022)Ghost's appearance was the first thing that caught me and the whole mystery around it/him ;D Also my heart FLOODED after all his apparant loss and torture (which we hopefully get some insight on in MWIII) he isn't (fully) the stone, cold hearted man others/himself make out to be. His care and concern for others + his joking around melted my heartt. I don't know what else to say other than i would feel so save around him :3

Ugh, I forgot how much I hate inking underwater chambers. Who decided that all these rooms should be underwater anyhow?? (It was me.)

As you can see, I drew the secret chamber behind 3.16 before I realized that it's non-empty (because treasure!) so it needs its own entry. And then I inked it too, like a dummy.

On a happier note, I really like 3.17. "Retrieve a thing in an underwater room without the thing getting wet" is such a simple, open-ended puzzle that I'm surprised my brain was able to dredge it up.

Y’all want some of my existential rambling after getting back from Across the Spiderverse? Too bad you’re getting it. Full spoilers for like all of it.

Gwen’s death is the third nexus point. It’s something that’s been on my mind since I first saw the movie. Gwen knows that she’s doomed to die through most of the movie. She’s obviously avoiding her own universe since she knows Captain Stacy has to die, then it would be her. Unlike the other two nexus events being based on relationship and occupation, Gwen is always Gwen. It’s clear through the movie that it’s the one thing on her mind. She stays detached from everyone except Hobie, who’s probably the best equipped to handle her. Her visiting Miles really feels like a last goodbye on a rewatch. This belief isn’t shaken until she finds her dad quit. Suddenly, the rules can change. What’s set in stone may not be.

In a way, Gwen in this movie is reminiscent of Gwenpool, all the way down to the frosted pink tips. Having meta knowledge of the multiverse yet being unable to change it. We see in GP how crushing this can be. She is out of place, doomed to die, and nothing she does can change that fact. Her depression and nihilism throughout is much better because of this knowledge. I’m honestly 50/50 on whether they follow through or not in Beyond.

If you notice, everyone in the Spiderplex notices Gwen. Every Peter stops to say hello. Because Gwen is the one who’s different. She’s the one who lived where Peter died. But that can’t last forever. The spider-people want their time with Gwen while she’s here. At the same time, it’s worth thinking that the Gwen in Miles universe is certainly dead, as would be Cpt. Stacey. The Peter from the first movie was old enough and with MJ. That being said, no Spiderman in 42 means Gwen should still be alive.

The idea of Gwen being this multiversal convergence point of death is so fascinating to me. An entire novel could be written about Gwen’s struggle with her need to die.

will be rambling about my potential characterizations for this AU here, gonna be listing down characters in two halves: Titans and AEUG.

Titans Test Team "VOGEL" - EFSF Penrose (Alexandria-class)

All Cyber Newtypes are from Augusta Newtype Labs, and will be denoted as ANT.

ANT-512 "Elster" - A former EFSF pilot and veteran of the One Year War. One of the EFSF's initial newtype pilots at the end of the OYW, she was sent to Augusta to be enhanced, later made to join the Titans Test Team "VOGEL" unit as a test pilot. Pilots a RX-121-2 Gundam TR-1 "Hazel Early Type".

ANT-317 "Falke" - A former Zeonic veteran under detainment by the EFSF following their victory at A Baoa Qu. Sent to Augusta Newtype Labs for experimentation and as a result has lost her memories during enhancement. Seeking the chance of having Augusta Labs' most potent Cyber Newtype, she was made commander of the Vogel Unit. She pilots a RX-124 Gundam TR-6 "Psyco Inle".

Lt. Ariane Yeong - A communications officer, MS researcher and unknowing Newtype test subject onboard the Penrose. Originally from the colonies, her aunt had brought her to enlist in the EFF military after the OYW, leading to her being chosen for the Titans in 0083 after the Stardust Rebellion. She does not realize the package of the Penrose - the mobile armor ORX-NT-0001 "Signalis" - was slowly attuning to her latent Newtype abilities.

Cpt. Adler - Captain of the Alexandria-Class ship "Penrose", secretly one of the initial Cyber Newtypes that was supposed to be part of the Vogel unit, but seeing his past life as an excellent ship captain of the One Year War, he was placed directly under the order of Bask Om to put an eye on the Vogel Unit's actions and tests.

ANT-921 - "Eule" (RX-107 Rosette)

ANT-194 - "Star" (RX-124 TR-6 Hazel II)

ANT-823 - "Storch" (ORX-005 Gaplant TR-5)

Alisa Seo - A former EFF veteran amd ace pilot that had served with the Cyber Newtype known as Elster prior to her enhancement. Seeking to uncover answers as to what happened to her former sister-in-arms. Pilots an older model RGM-79SPII GM Sniper II.

Isolde Itou - A young Earthnoid woman who used to be friends with Ariane. After her departure from Earth and the unraveling of the Colony 30 incident, she seeks to find Ariane as a form of penance for letting her join the Titans.

Erika Itou - The twin sister of Isolde and also a good friend of Ariane. Joined the AEUG after witnessing Colony 30. Tries her best to help her sister and find out what happened to Ariane. Pilots a refurbished RGM-79 GM Guards Type.

Been watching a few video edits of BCS and they still hits hard :( But Police Call Guy as Jimmy & Assistant as Kim actually fits now that I think of it...

There are some RH characters in my mind that could also fit as BCS characters, however I might not draw them due to my interest and energy in drawing it, they can only rent free in my head.

Police Call Guy - Saul Goodman / Jimmy McGill Jimmy has an alias "The Cell-Phone Guy", kinda have a similar ring to Police Call Guy lmao. I also imagined Call Guy would appear to be genuine and charming around people, but he would do anything for him to win even if it would hurt people around him. Like annoy his co-workers to get fired, scam to gain money together with his friend, steal from his family, etc. In the end, Call Guy turned himself in and confessed his guilt, he was later sentenced to life in prison (86 years). Imagine a police that eventually spends his life on prison due to his action.

Assistant - Kimberly "Kim" Wexler Kim is the girlfriend-turned-wife-turned-ex-wife of Jimmy McGill. Kim loves Jimmy for his kindness towards her, and returns this compassion to Jimmy on multiple occasions. However Kim felt remorse to her actions with Jimmy along the series. I imagined Assistant solving cases with Call Guy, she started to get influenced by him and she had fun. She also defends him whenever he did some unlawful actions or even he got mistreated by her boss (the executives) and Tucker.

Cpt. Tucker - Charles "Chuck" McGill Both name's are kinda similar too ig- but I could give some reasons why I could fill in Tucker as Chuck. In BCS, Chuck is Jimmy's older brother. He claims to suffer from electromagnetic hypersensitivity (causes headache, fatigue, stress, sleep disturbance, pain in muscle etc), he can't go near to anything that is electrical (even batteries, phone, watch, light) without a cloak of aluminum foil around him. Chuck was a lawyer and the co founder of HHM, but due to him not being able to go near electrical stuff, he retired for a while until it gets better. Chuck eventually returns, but he retired for good due to Jimmy. Now, what if ... Tucker was once a cop but he also has electromagnetic hypersensitivity so he retired, which is why he lives in the snowy areas with his seals to get away from electricity. The only way for him to get light is fire, torch, and candle lanterns.

The Executive(s) - Howard Hamlin I'll only be using one Executive instead of whole 4 of them, Howard Hamlin was Kim's boss and he's the owner of HHM. Not sure how to connect stuff from the original BCS, but I see the Assistant being under Executive, just like Kim under Howard.

LONG STORY SHORT... Police Call Guy is a conman who will eventually be sentenced for life in jail. Tucker and Police Call Guy are strangely related (not sure about this), both hates each other. Police Call Guy and Assistant were together for a moment but they broke up due to Assistant's trauma, she eventually felt remorse of her actions which is her reason of her break up. Executive is Assistant's boss and he was the founder.

I always, always love getting random AUs in my ask box, and people should always feel free to send in! But I am very sorry to tell you, anon, that I know basically nothing about Dr. Who. I did not even know that Jack Harkness was a Dr. Who character until this landed in my inbox (I had heard the name before, I just had no context... if you had asked me before what show he was from I'd probably have said some British period nautical drama lolllll). So I really wish I could go off on some long rambling post about how they'd fit together in this AU, and what kind of shenanigans they'd get up to, but I got nothing. I did go skim the wikipedia page for Harkness about his character, and I can definitely see where you're coming from, though!

But we should definitely put this out into the world! I'd probably read the heck out of it if someone else wrote it, but I'm afraid that won't be me. 😅

My friend read somewhere (yeah, this is hearsay around two corners) that, in a modern setting, the Creature's relationship to the cottage family could be read as a parasocial relationship, a thought I find fascinating. Because on some level, dude seems to be aware that his little stalker fantasy about them being his family is completely one-sided. If only he weren't an utter creep about it, I'd feel for him. But he is, so I don't.

“I now hasten to the more moving parts of my story” – Except not really, because he keeps talking for four more chapters, and frankly, not much is moving.

Random pretty lady is random. But the soap opera is going on, I guess. Cpt. Walton’s sister reading a letter < of what Walton has written down < of what Victor has told him < of what the monster has told him < about the lives of these people. Layers, man.

The Creature’s wordy praises of everyone’s beauty are getting old, but good on Felix for scoring a woman who’s apparently in mourning, if going by the black veil.

While the bit about the De Laceys is still too long, it illustrates one point quite well: That the Creature fails to subvert the superficialness abound in the world he lives in. He doesn't want to be judged by his physical appearance, yet this seems to be the only standard by which he himself measures people.
