I think that Jon likes Naruto and Dami is just writing a shoujo is the funniest thing ever
Like Dami would look at shonen and "yep, my parents are fucked up too" or "based" (he also like shonen but he's not too fanboy over it) because he life is a mess, he family have a lot of problems (the all are a bunch of crazy people, they all love each other but still...)
And then he just opens a shoujo because "oh I wish my life was simple like that" and Jon is just "... do you want to talk about it Dami?" "Yeah They're finally holding hands" and Jon is just very worried about this bat
Dami likes shoujo and slice of life stories make so much sense, he really likes these domestic life stories where nothing bad happened
DC has the opportunity to put the more edge Dami possible after Alfred and Ra's dead but here we have Dami, hugs his cow and reads things as Kimi ni Todoke, Skip and Loafer, Say I love you and stuff
I also believe Dami would love Vinland Saga (former child soldier gives up of violence and starts a farm) and things like that
(in the start Jon was happy because he had something to share with Dami, but now he just worries)
Idk I just want to share this though with someone
Absolutely!
Jon reads shounen because he likes stories where what's bad is obvious to nearly everyone and they can actually do something about it. He likes the teamwork and friendship because he's lonely. He likes the excitement because he's from a small town. And then it becomes something familiar, a friend to him. I don't think Jon just likes it because Ninjas are cool, I think he probably sees it as a microcosm of society and human behavior, to some extent.
Jon likes the idea of being brave and facing things head on. Damian knows that some things it's better to just walk away from.
Shoujo is his way of studying human behavior, it's the kind of interaction he's never been party to and it's the perfect escapism for one that lives such a dramatic life. I think he and Jon watched The Devil is a Part Timer together when it aired. Jon loved the brief action sequences but Damian adored the love story and the once-villain now getting to live an every day life and be content. He probably related to the main character. I think Jon loves wholesome moments so he was pretty happy with it.
I think Damian starts reading slice of life Yuri because he relates to the gayness of it but comphets himself into thinking it's because he likes girls. But you can take or leave that headcanon.
I think part of why Damian likes Jon so much is because he's so sturdy and dependable and Damian craves stability whereas Jon loves the vitality and vibrancy of Damian, who is capable of bringing out his best and his worst, who shows him new and exciting things, but who is ultimately there for him when he needs comfort even though he never thought to ask for it. Jon is ordinary and stable like a shoujo manga and Damian is exciting and cool like a shounen manga.
I really love the idea of Damian trying his hand at being a mangaka/manga artist and he's writing shoujo and he shows it to people and they're like "why is the male love interest like Jon and the female love interest like you?" And he screams at them and goes to change it but he can't bring himself to change it too much because he likes it as it is.
He goes "Damn it. I don't care what they say, this is just good writing. I'm finishing it like this."
When he shows it to Jon, he finds himself uncharacteristically nervous for some "unknowable reason".Jon fawns over it and asks Damian to draw him a poster of the main girl because he thinks she's so cute, and he wants to hang it up in his room and look at it every day. Meanwhile the girl literally looks like Damian with makeup and a sailor fuku.
He briefly becomes obsessed with Damian's oc and draws fan art and infodumps to him about headcanons and they're all things that Damian cut out about her that made her more like him and Jon's talking about how she's so cute and he would love to date her. Damian's thinking "I wish I was a girl. Then I could date Jon and we would be so happy. But I'm not so I'll just move on with my life I guess." (This is not an egg Dami moment in my story but if you'd want to write trans Dami here go for it)
Then later Jon comes out as bisexual (the poster is still up in his room next to his bi flag but he's not obsessed anymore) and Damian literally cheers out loud and Jon's like "oh my friend is happy for me!" And Damian is having gay panic "WHY AM I SO ELATED ABOUT THIS?!" and he realizes he's in love with Jon, and now he's embarrassed that his brothers were right and he was writing about Jon.
--
One day Damian starts a conversation:
"So, Jon. Do you remember Suzuki Amaya from my manga I wrote in 8th grade?"
"Yeah! I love her." Damian's heart skips a beat. "Remember when she almost killed that guy who tried to mug Hishiro? Hishiro didn't even need the help but he was just turning into goo over her saving him and so was I! I mean it's really sweet in a fucked up kind of way, you know?"
"I..." Damian pauses to clear his throat. "I wrote that story about us, without ever really intending to... because when I think of slice of life I think of it as warm and comforting and domestic, and when I think of home... I think of you. It's always been you."
"Oh thank Rao I'm not the only one who thought Amaya was just like you. She always acted so cute and seeing her happy just made me so happy too. I wanted to be Hishiro and make you happy like he did for her but... I mean... I didn't know-- you like guys, right? This is a confession?" Jon asked, looking for confirmation.
Damian scoffed. "Yes, you idiot. I like you. How else do you want me to say it?"
Jon released the tension in his body language. "Any way is fine as long as you're the one saying it. You know I like you better than Suzuki, right? Cause she's not you. You're you. And you're... amazing. Really, Dami, I mean it. I love everything about you. Even the things I dislike about you I like, because I associate them with you. You're my morning star. My guiding light, you--"
Damian talks through a smirk. "Your son-of-two-writers is showing. I love you too."
Jon smiles. "Can I kiss you?"
Damian had been sitting perched on the backrest of the couch and he clambers down to sit next to Jon, their knees brushing. Damian nervously balls his fists up in his lap. "I've never done this before. Can you give me a moment?"
Jon nods. "I guess my secret's out, now. You know that when I said all that embarrassingly mushy stuff about Suzuki I was really talking about you... I was such a cringe pre-teen. Oh Rao, I kissed the poster on her cheeks when I was pining after you... look at you getting red, you're so--" Jon is cut off by Damian knocking his teeth into Jon's in a botched attempt at a kiss.
Jon lovingly places his hand over Damian's cheek and uses it to guide their faces to slot together nicely as they share their real first kiss. It's closed mouth, warm, soft, they can feel short soft stubble where their faces meet. Damian remembers to close his eyes and just feel. He forgets that he doesn't even know what to do with his hands. He forgets all the worries he had about Jon rejecting him and their friendship ending. They break away.
"I think I'm going to have enough material for a second book." Damian tells Jon.
---
So there's my minific, I think I'll come back and polish it up later. I hope I did your idea justice! Thanks for the ask! Come back anytime.

We aren't the sexist ones. Edelstands are, and we can't let them run this stupid narrative of lies. We know Edelgard was written for men, by men, to be bought by men. Her fans like her because she's cute, okay, they pretend to be progressive or agree with her is just adhoc excuses to justify them liking the small uwu girl who's afraid of rats, draws pictures of MALE Byleth, and is just a pawn of Thales, a MAN. They're misogynists for hating Rhea a woman with actual autonomy unlike their waifu.
Eh,
I wouldn't call people misogynists for not liking a female character, but I remember someone received a lot of flak earlier this year (... I think?) posting about Supreme Leader's fate in AG and ending with Supreme Puppet, and, well...
I also really don't like it when a character I like is only seen as waifu-material/fanservice by the devs or the company who makes games and merchandising involving said character - and if everyone was hit with the moe hammer and the "u must luf the self-insert" rule, Supreme Leader as a character is a basic example of what not to do.
We're told and we saw a character who is hell-bent on following her path, always moving forwards, no matter the consequences, to reach her goal -
But in Tru Piss, she put her war on hold because "she was so sad uwu when u disappeared :'("
And that thing only exists in this route, the route you can access if you already have a certain fondness (or are supposed to!) for the character. It's like we have two Supreme Leaders, one existing for Fodlan and the rest of the verse, the Red Emperor with earl grey ; and the one meant for the player, with the uwu rat scene, the drawings, the war on hold, etc etc. And as annoying as it is, the Fodlan games were designed around this, what if the Red Emperor was the waifu du jour, rather, waifu of the verse?
The Cipher cards already heavily implied what Supreme Leader was, for IS, we have the nightgown card and the naked Supreme Leader in the Hegemon card, and I've been looking carefuly at FE Cipher, I don't see anything remotely similar for the other characters from the same verse...
And then, we have Nopes, Supreme Leader ditches her commanding and badass imperial clothes and garb for a sailor fuku. We have a panty shot of Supreme Puppet in AG's finale - on top of all the implications Supreme Leader reverting to a 12 years old imply.
As annoying as it is, Supreme Leader seems to have been designed by the guy who invented "Cow-milla", and I understand some of her fans being pissed at how IS/KT/whoever else wasted her character to make her pander to the player - who is always assumed to be male - however, the double standard of some devoted fans is kind of jarring, but it's something to be expected now, nearly 4 years after this game's release.
I still find it ultra ironic how some of the most ardent defenders of the "she was manipulated by Uncle who fed her lies etc etc had to start her war etc etc" reject AG because it removes her agency, when they eluded it in earlier fandom discussions to make a general point about "my fave would never" -
But I already said something about double standard lol
#anon#replies#fandom woes#i came to the xillia fandom a bit late but damn#being a fan of muzet is hard lol#in ToX2 and the subsequent gacha games she's just reduced the the 'floating sex joke' role#and it's so sad because they could have done much more with her character#but nooo#we can't have that#iirc there's one off-handed line about her that stuck with me in ToX2 about her still not liking humans#but it's like 1 line amidst a sea of tether jokes#i miss the era where liking a character or not wasn't tied to how progressive you wanted to appear#but just based on your own likes and preferences#oh well#FE16#sort of

Songs for Teenagers || Kagemori || Trial 2.2 || Re: Konoka, Red || Attn: E.ve, Rika, Atsuko (very briefly)
Huh. It looked like the class spread out pretty well and covered a lot of ground this investigation. The handwriting was something Kagemori hadn’t thought completely relevant, but... maybe they’d save that point if they got desperate. There was a whole host of points brought up that were more important.
“But I really...don’t get why Izumi wouldn’t take his Modelpad with him? Unless maybe he knew he was going to die and was cool with whoever did it? Which, yikes. Kyou-san made some good points that we can, like, totally back up with Izumi’s notebook. He seemed...pretty accepting of his fate, writing for Ryou to not be mad at them and that the killer just wanted to live. And then there was....somthin’ about Sleepin’ Beauty...”
Kind of a sad metaphor, considering how Izumi’s final resting place was drenched in blood. That made the whole thing less poetic.
‘Fore we go hog wild with that height theory - wig, by the way - did anyone have anything to add about the burnt clothes? Color, smell, size...? I didn’t get a chance to look at them closely, but anything helps....
Maybe it’s worth mentioning, maybe not, but I’m pretty sure Fuku-chan - Kei - or Mickey-chan didn’t know about the wall....animals...? before all this. I know neither of them are accused, but, like, two more people to cross off the list, right? That’s cool.”
Don’t think they forgot what you said earlier, E.ve. From the seat near the fancy section, Kagemori huffed impatiently and almost told them to stop being coy... but, looks like the cow finally mooed at last. Not that E.ve looked super pleased about his revelation, but who could blame him?
The comment about the killer maybe streaking does get a half-suppressed “fufufu” out of the visual kei artist. Good one, bro.
“...took you long enough to get that out. I thought stalling was, like, frowned on in video games? But, the smudged ink... total shot in the dark here, but, like, maybe the killer would have smudged ink on their left hand?”
Finally, they turned to Rika. Oh boy. They weren’t gonna dogpile with accusations, so they’d say their two cents on accomplices.
I mean, idk? This kinda seems like a one-person job: one murder weapon that we know of, one set of burnt clothes. You’d think we’d find more stuff if there were two killer peeps? It’s still a possibility, more than one person have dirt they don’t want made public. But... looks to me like one loner could’ve pulled this off, too.”
Something Kagemori took from Rika’s comments: Koharu and Atsuko are DATING????? As Atsuko is next to them, Kagemori offers her a fist bump and a very quiet “...let’s go, lesbians.” Nice.

Yay I finally finished 2018 inktober! If you want to just scroll through them all please go here, and if you want to see some comments on each please look under the cut.
Day 01 Flowey and Overgrown Ruins This prompt I picked as is because as far as I remember Flowey stayed behind when the monsters left. If you can’t find him, he’s near the big root on the left. All other days the second prompt got randomised by a die (except when I reached the last two).
Day 02 Grillby and Exotic Flora Grillby’s on a journey to look at all the flowers that aren’t living in a wet environment. Maybe he’ll make some wine from the non-poisonous ones.
Day 03 Chara and Cave Entrance They are still curious about morbid things and places that could be portentially dangerous, practically running at danger.
Day 04 Undyne and Astral Plains/Dreamland Welp I’d rather have had her with some other prompt, but now she has an anime showdown/faceoff with a mean monster that harasses a moldsmal.
Day 05 Asgore and Rocky Ruins Asgore had a trip down memory lane and visited the place where their castle used to be, before the war. Not much is left any more.
Day 06 Frisk and Ancient Tree They are still precariously looking for adventure. I saw this article about a 800 year-old Finnish tree, as soon as I saw that top I wanted to climb that, looks like a perfect spot to see everything around you and chill for a bit.
Day 07 Temmie and Nature Untouched I did some research in a nearby forest for this one, the sales-Temmie has made a nest in a tree that has fallen down in a storm. The soil is shallow before solid rock so trees have their roots mostly close to the surface, when they fall the roots go up as well. Temmie on the left is sitting on an ant nest lol. There are seven Temmies in total.
Day 08 Muffet and Crystal Coves Crystal Coves is either a place where crystal business is the main employer, a cove that has crystals, or a cove with crystal clear water, I think. I tried to implement them all just to make sure. Muffet has now made a business in making spider-products with glass expertise.
Day 09 Fuku Fire and Freezing Fjord Finally back to the ‘monsters travelling’ theme, Fuku is taking a longer trip and is currently on a boat by Norway.
Day 10 Gaster Blasters and Townsquare The blasters are on their own for whatever convenient reason, Pap’s one is figuring how things work by destroying them, Sans’ is... playing with local children. :D The fountain is loosely based on Havis Amanda.
Day 11 Nice Cream Guy & Shanty Town He’s travelling the world and selling nice cream! Definitely inspired by Beadle in BotW.
Day 12 Mettaton EX & Cemetery This combination took me a moment, Mettaton is a bit loud and showy for a cemetery. Then I remembered that Napstablook said they’re already dead when you try to kill them, so here Mettaton’s visiting haunted places and telling everyone about this wonderful body he got and where to get one if you’re interested in becoming physical again. I worked in a cemetery for one summer years ago, felt weird pulling those visual memories to this...
Day 13 Toriel & Hall of Deities In order to become a teacher I’d imagine she’d have to brush up her knowledge on lots of things that’ve happened on the surface, and here she’s in a secret underground place with some sacred scriptures or something, she reads them and writes down notes and then returns the scrolls.
Day 14 Annoying Dog & Volcanic Terrain Another weird combination, but eh, it’s the dog. It’s feeding bones to the vulkins and admiring danger up close.
Day 15 Monster Kid & Path Along the Water I made a huge area with different textures so I could try learn something new by scribbling around, and I’m really happy how the boulders on top of the waterfall and the water itself look like.
Day 16 Doggo & Ancient Altar Room Took a moment to come up with an idea, then I read Doggo likes squirrels. So now he’s travelling the world too, and he always has time and seeds for any squirrel population he discovers.
Day 17 Alphys & Summoning Altar I thought I’d not be drawing Mew Mew, but here was a perfect opportunity for that! Alphys isn’t travelling, but discovering new things in her home, humans have such interesting books! All of the Japanese text mean something; the bowl has the kanji for ’love’, books under it are Mew Mew manga, there’s two yury books, a reference to Free!, Digimon, Pokémon, Rose of Versailles, Natsume Book of Friends... and it’s fine if you don’t get the one that says ‘corn’.
Day 18 Photoshop Flowey & Windmills and Grasslands I think the modern wind generators look super cool. I tried to make Flowey as cute as possible so he’d be more fun to draw there, this is some dream stuff or alternate universe since Flowey did stay behind.
Day 19 Papyrus & Desserted Drylands I’m pretty sure that’s an accidental typo, but since it was Papyrus I wanted to roll with the new pun meaning. First thought was Papyrus somehow being in the drylands and dropping a huge cake, thus ’desserting’ it, but that would’ve been a bit mean. This cake is made with 100% organic sand (some of which he ground himself when grooming Rocky), the tiny cow ornaments are modified mouse skeletons. :) The chef hat would be straight but there wasn’t enough room on the page of the notebook I draw these on... I remembered he had a triangle on the battle armor, but didn’t remember what way it points so avoided it by replacing it with a heart. :D
Day 20 Sans & By the Beach Sans is getting some more sand for Papyrus with his shortcut, then he took a nap unfortunately close to the tide..? The shore felt a bit bare so I added some animals to keep him company. I h/c that animals don’t mind having monsters around unlike how they usually try to run away when a human is near.
Day 21 Shyren & Buried Statue(s) She’s doing that Disney princess thing where you sit down and start singing and all small animals within hearing range come to listen.
Day 22 Asriel & Underwater Temple Another dream thing since Flowey stayed behind, this is how he imagines the oceans look like outside.
Day 23 Lesser Dog & Market Place Some people have to learn the hard way to not trust a dog that has opposable thumbs.
Day 24 Box Mettaton & Merchant’s Store Any website run by a popular monster must get an insane amount of curious folk, which leads to ad revenue being a good way to fund the next tour. There’s some.. insider jokes there if you’re in any kind of website business.
Day 25 Rocky the pet rock & Eldritch Forest I don’t actually know what the latter means, looking at Google images it’s probably just a forest that’s very dark or something. Wanted to try a different perspective for a change. Rocky has a bowl of food there but I can’t really think of any non-sad reason for why it’s in this forest.
Day 26 Froggit & Inn in th Middle of Nowhere Had to take a break for one day, regardless I’m proud of myself on being consistent this far despite everything going on. I first only had the top Froggit and the bg in the sketch, and didn’t like how it looked. Somehow adding more Froggits made it look a lot better to me...
Day 27 Burgerpants & By the Docs Birsd with human arms and birds sitting like humans will never not be hilarious to me.
Day 28 Bratty and Catty & Deep in the Woods Tried to play with perspective with this one, it’s kind of the opposite of the Rocky drawing.
Day 29 God of Hyperdeath & Idle Portal I had a hard time coming up with anything for this, so now poor goat is somewhere in a completely white dimention and the only way out is not active, though he’s quite chill about it.
Day 30 Amalgamate & Abnormal Formations This and last one’s world I didn’t leave for the die to decide, I really wanted to do Tetris with Napstablook and out of the two still left this prompt suits Endogeny more anyway. There’s a forest in Poland where several of the trees bend to north like this.
Day 31 Napstablook & Puzzling Platforms Only one I did during morning, my hands shake more then so all the lines are more or less wobbly. Every Tetris piece has it’s own signature design except the L-shape which is just blank to keep it interesting. Napstablook is enjoying game music while inside the game, maybe ghosts can possess videogames..? This also shows the notebook I drew all of these in and the tools I used most of the time.
It’s hard to tell if I’ve improved at all when comparing these to 2017 inktober, I haven’t draw regularly through the year and the main focus point this time was on backgrounds and not so much on lines and characters. I did learn new things and that’s always exiting, I think my trees, glass and rocks look way better than before I started, and I did some progress in shading metal too. All of these took 3 hours or less to finish, some only took an hour. I didn’t need to erase pencils like last year because I used a trick where I placed the sketch under the notebook page and my tablet with 100% brightness and a white bg under them, and traced that with ink. The notebook paper is pretty thin, you can see the Amalgamate drawing’s clouds showing through in the Napstablook photo. Anyway, this was fun, and I think I’ll try do it next year too!

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Episode 21 Word Bank
We finally have our Work Bank.
The word bank is not an index, or a glossary. Instead, it’s a selection of words that we consider worth learning, or at least putting somewhere in one’s mind.
As you’re aware, every single word in the episode is defined. So this is something more for the hardcore studiers.
You’ll find the word in Japanese script, the Romaji in parentheses (), the definition, and then the Part of the runthrough where this word can be found in brackets []. It may not be the first time it appears, but it will be there.

Miyan Taushe served with Tuwo Shinkafa
INGREDIENTS
1 small sized Pumpkin 1/2 cup of raw Groundnut – you can substitute with groundnut paste Assorted Namaa Goat meat and cow leg Assorted Offals – saki, fuku, heart and kidney 1 piece of smoked fish 1/4 cup of Locust beans (Iru) 2 pieces of habanero pepper (ata rodo/atarugu) 100g of Yakuwa leaves (sorrel) 1 bunch of spinach 1 cooking spoon of palm oil – optional 1 piece of Tatashe (Red bell pepper/Jan Tatasei ) 2 pieces of tomatoes 1 Albasa – onion Knorr cube Gishiri – Salt
PREPARATION METHOD
Cut the pumpkin into half then proceed to cut into chunks. Peel the hard outer layer, take out the seeds and the hairy pulp Boil and season the pumpkin with the assorted meats and smoked fish.
Take out the meats and fry slightly (optional). Meanwhile, mash the cooked pumpkin to a pulp in the pot containing the beef stock. You can choose to mash all the pumpkin chunks to a pulp or mash some whilst leaving the others in tiny bite sized pieces. Once this is done, set aside.
Roast the groundnut with the skin on for 3 minutes in a pan. Peel the skin and grind the groundnut till it is smooth Blend the ingredients for the pepper (tomatoes, onion, scotch bonnet/habanero pepper & bell pepper) and reduce it till most of the water content has evaporated.
Put the fried meat back into the pot containing beef stock and mashed pumpkin. Let it cook till the stock starts to bubble up. Lower the heat, add the groundnut paste, stir and let it also dissolve. Add the Locust beans (or Iru) and 1 1/2 cooking spoons of the reduced pepper, and palm oil (if you are using). Stir and let it blend with the stock
This rich pumpkin soup will be watery at first. Let it simmer on low heat till it thickens, thereby intensifying the flavour. Taste for salt and seasoning. Wash and chop the spinach, then add to the pot. Rinse the Yakuwa leaves, chop and add to the soup. Give it two minutes and serve with Tuwo Shinkafa
