— — > 4 years later..
honestly four years is absolutely crazy for me to fathom. i can’t believe it’s been that long since i took the plunge and decided to start writing for ace attorney. it feels like just yesterday i sat down and said “yeah.. i love this silly lawyer game” and started this blog.
-> so whats going on with this blog?
well, the long and the short of it is i don’t enjoy writing anymore. every now and then i get a small desire to write, but it fades so fast. i do miss it! i miss fulfilling requests, i miss mini headcanon mondays, i miss talking with people about my favorite game of all time!
but.. i got tired of it. if you’ve ever ran a writing blog, you’ll know that you can only write so many requests before you feel like you’ve written the same thing over. and over.
don’t get me wrong, i absolutely loved every second and every thing that i wrote. i have no regrets! i just don’t have that drive that 16 y/o luna had.
-> where have i been?
uhhh graduating college! i got my degree and have been job hunting, trying to get my life started. honestly, college took up the majority of my time these past few months. and now that i’ve graduated, my life is ramping up!
so, as much as i want to write again, i just simply do not think ill have the time. its unfortunate, i know. i see all your little notes in the reblogs and i appreciate the love and support on everything ive written. i just dont think writing is in the cards for me anymore
oh, i also got a dog and named her maya. she has a burger plush that she loves :3
-> what will happen with this blog?
i’ll leave it up. i debated deleting it a few times because it occasionally brought back bad memories. but so many people still follow, like, and reblog everything that i can’t bring myself to delete it. especially with the scraps of aa content that’s already out there lmaoo (trust me i was scraping the bottom of the barrel for content when i finished soj)
will i check back in? yeah occasionally. i have been for months. i just wont write.
————
i’m sorry to anyone who was hoping for me to one day come back. believe me, no one wanted me to come back more than me. i miss that itch, that drive to pump out content. writing just isn’t something i’ve done for a while.
i still love ace attorney. i beat the new trilogy about a month ago now and i loved every second, despite having played all three games before lol! there’s so much charm and love to the series.
i still would love to gush and talk more about it. i’ve thought about making a twitter account several times because i can be more active on there. so if anyone is interested lemme know! i can post on there and still interact with everyone.
but as for this blog - it’s time to adjourn court!
thank you for the lovely four years. and thank you for nearly 600 followers, my goodness! i love you all, and i treasure the love that has, and was, given to me.
- with love, luna <3

Fear No More
This drabble is preceded by Grey Tidings.
Ullane’s gambit to survive was not needed after all. But now she faces a far greater threat than some slavering dogs.
Indrid shakes her head, pitying Halvir a bit, her feelings clear on her face.
"A shame." She says, and she means it.
Ullane is expressionless. If anything, she is only looking to where Xrumon disappeared again. Friday looks shocked, and worried, because she knows what this means.
Ullane pats her shoulder.
Indrid looks to Artair.
"Does the prosecution have any further questions or comments?" She asks politely.
"Aye," he replies, nodding. "The prosecution notes that while it appears we may have a confession... of sorts..." he glares at Halvir again. "As to th' exact cause of the crime, which would reduce th' penalty for medical malpractice..."
He turns, unfolding his arms and resting both of them on his desk, leaning forward. "The fact remains that the defense still bears responsibility for th' death of a blueblood. It is your job to keep your facilities safe and secure from incidents like these."
"Accordingly, we request, your Honorable Tyranny, your judgment on the charge of extreme negligence and lack of care. The penalty for this is not as severe, of course," he continues, glancing at Ullane.
"But there must be some consequence for what has happened."
Indrid nods in agreement. "The defense understands and accepts these reduced penalties, if you would like to sentence now. Thank you, your honor."
Ullane nods as well. Friday just looks sad.
The judge nods, looking solemn in spite of his fearsome appearance. "Very well. Bailiff, escort mister Urtyop into custody pending further interrogation in this incident," he begins.
The yellowblood is led away, disappearing behind a side door near to the broken window, as another troll works to sweep up the glass on the floor.
"Now then," he leans forward, looking down on the defense. "On the charge of medical malpractice leading to the death of a noble, upon hearing the arguments and evidence put forth in this most extraordinary trial, this court finds the defense: Not guilty."
"On the charge of extreme negligence and lack of care, resulting in inadvertent harm due to outside malignance, this court finds the defense: Guilty."
"Your sentence will be handed down immediately," he bares his fangs for a moment, before settling back into his seat.
"Your medical license will be stripped from you, and you will be prohibited from the profession for a period no less than five sweeps.
Accordingly, you are no longer fit to hold your current position, but your clinic is free to employ a different administrator of its choosing. This court also orders the remaining staff at the clinic to close this breach in security in this nanotech before any more of it may be used in further patients."
He bangs his gavel on the stand, sounding as loud as a gunshot. "Court is adjourned. Defense has one week to vacate their position."
Indrid nods in understanding. Ullane does as well. Friday sighs deeply.
As the three women exit the room, Friday looks miserable again.
"I'm not...I'm not ready, Ullane."
"Not completely." She agrees. "But you've been trained. You'll have much support. I trust you, Friday." She says simply.
The other yellowblood sighs.
"Do you think Xrumon's all right?"
"He will be." says Ullane, in a voice that clearly states what will happen if the tealblood is not all right, as she goes to look for him. Friday follows, and Indrid leaves the pair of them.
The medic lightens, just barely, giving one of her slight smiles.
"Take heart, new administrator." She says gently, slightly teasing. "The beginning is always the hardest." She says. "You'll do better than me, I think."
Friday looks startled by that.
Ullane keeps smiling.
Just inside of the courtroom lobby, Xrumon is calmly waiting on a bench. He doesn't look any worse for wear, simply annoyed.
"About god damn time you finished up in there," he complains, rolling his eyes. "How long does it take to figure out you're only mostly an ass?"
Ullane's smile only widens on seeing him. "A long time." She says solemnly, in what would seem a serious manner if her smile weren't so obvious.
Her expression becomes sharper, more intent as she looks at her now-former employee and patient.
"You two go back to the clinic. I have to leave now."
Chimer Latrai shows up right on cue with her blueblood guard trailing her, sighing.
"Girl, I swear, you are the third biggest headache I've ever had. Let's get going before the mob shoots another bullet through the damn wall." She snorts.
"Better the window than anyone's head," Xrumon remarks, still shaking his head. "Still the same as they ever were."
He stands up, struggling only somewhat, and frowns at Ullane. "You 'have' to leave, huh? They take your license? That's the lesser penalty for medical negligence. What a pain in the ass."
Chimer nods. "Yeah, you should see the other guy, and by other guy I mean Halsy. I do not wanna be him right now."
Ullane looks grave. "Not about that. Need to leave the city before the grey mob figures out what I did."
Chimer, sighing. "I'll put it in one word: fucked. I'd want to slap her shit if I were them." Shakes her head.
"You've probably got one week. Maybe two," Xrumon remarks. "Got rid of a lot of your lead time when those arrests got brought up, because it's not gonna be hard to figure out how the police suddenly decided to be competent."
Chimer, nodding. "Yeah, they recruited the world's most fucking deranged mediculler with a whole ribcage to pick, wouldn't you know it, real darned coincidence that was."
He rubs his forehead with one hand. "At least they're not too big. You'll be safe... ish. As long as you get out of town for a long while. Just try not to piss off any more heavily armed gangs of pissed off hemorebels."
Friday giggles nervously. "Ullane, what did you..."
Ullane, quietly. "No time for that. It won't reflect back on you. The clinic's safe from the mob now."
Friday doesn't look very reassured by that, but she nods.
Ullane nods as well in response to Xrumon's words.
"Chimer has a place for me." She assures him.
She sticks a hand out to shake his.
"Goodbye for now, Xrumon."
His hand, scarred and calloused as it is, grasped hers. "Goodbye, Ullane," he replies, giving her as firm a shake as he can get. "And good luck out there."
She smiles, just barely, as she lets go and walks away with Chimer.
"The same to you."
Friday watches Ullane go until she's gone, looking a little lost. Then she shakes her head and looks at Xrumon.
"I'm the clinic administrator now." She says with a sigh. The once-cheery surgeonhiliator is more subdued now, slim shoulders weighed down by her new responsibilities.
Ever since Ullane told her that Friday would take her place after she was sentenced, right after Calcit's death, she has known this would happen. Ullane has been training her.
It hasn’t made it any easier.
"Let's go back, Xrumon. There's so much to do."
"What a shit way to get a promotion," he answers blandly, but shrugs. "Lead the way, new boss."
She snorts. "It's definitely not how I wanted it...but...at least I have you, and Yarrex, and Chimer...and the others."
Friday does lead the way, back to crown clinic.
Ullane's lusus is already gone from the place, picked up by Chimer before the trial. Her office has been cleared out. There is almost no trace the yellowblood was ever here.
Except one thing, put up in the employee break room. A typed note.
"To my former employees -
I have kept quiet about my investigations, and spoken little of my trial. This has been to protect you all from my enemies, who shouldn't trouble this place any longer.
I have left the city for a while. I don't know how long. But I am safe, though I cannot message or call anyone just yet.
Treat Friday with the same respect you treated me. Help her as best you can while the clinic transitions.
Above all, thank you all for the work you've done. It means everything to me, and more importantly, the patients you've cared for.
- Ullane Wistim"
Take heart. She’ll return some night.
Ullane Wistim always has a plan.

Former Dundee striker’s sexual assault trial deserted after failure to cite complainer
A former Dundee player has been cleared of sexually assaulting a woman after a sheriff deserted the case against him.
Simon Lynch, 41, denied a single charge of attacking the woman at a flat in Glasgow’s Tollcross on February 6 2020.
Canadian-born Lynch – who played for Dundee for a single season in 2005/06 – had been due to face a summary trial, without a jury.
Attempt to defer trial again
The trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court was initially adjourned in November due to the non-attendance of the alleged victim.
Monday’s re-scheduled trial hearing was told the woman had not been cited to come to court by the Crown this week.
Prosecutor Leo McGinn said: “There were two requests made by my office to the police to personally cite her following the last occasion.
“I appreciate this is an unsatisfactory position as the case was adjourned due to her non-attendance on the last occasion.”
Paul McCormick, defending, opposed the Crown motion to adjourn the trial.
The lawyer told the court his client lost his job at a charity since the last calling of the case.
He said: “The entire process has been hanging over my client’s head for 27 months.
“There has been obvious consequences with the loss of his employment.
“He understands the firm stance due to the publicity that reached the press.
“The Crown really ought to have done more to have the witness cited for today.”
Sheriff throws out case
Sheriff Jonathan Guy refused the motion to adjourn the trial to another date.
He said: “It has been more than two years and the Crown are not in a position to proceed as it failed to take the necessary step to cite the witness for this case.
“Given the impact of these proceedings and the Crown’s repeated failings, I have decided the interests of justice don’t support the Crown.
“It is not in the interest of justice for the Crown to be given a third opportunity to do that.”
The case was then deserted simpliciter by the Sheriff.
Police Scotland refused to comment
A spokesperson for the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service said: “We note the decision of the court.”
Playing career – on pitch and stage
Scotland under-21 striker Lynch followed in the footsteps of father Andy, who captained Celtic, by playing at Parkhead between 1999 and 2001.
He made four appearances for the Parkhead side, scoring three times, and moved to Preston North End in a reported £130,000 transfer.
Newly-relegated Dundee brought him back north and he finished top scorer in his single season at Dens Park, with 18 goals in 43 appearances.
He moved on to Australia before finishing his playing career in the lower leagues in Scotland.
After hanging up his boots, Lynch embarked on a music career and even sang at Celtic Park.

Nova Scotia government says judge dismissed from inquiry had rejected offer for help
The Nova Scotia government says a judge dismissed from leading a high-profile inquiry had rejected an offer for help, even though he had asked for four extensions to allow him to complete his final report.
The office of the province's attorney general issued a statement Tuesday saying the now-retired provincial court judge, Warren Zimmer, was not given a fourth extension because the government had no reason to expect that agreeing to that request would yield a report.
As well, department spokesman Peter McLaughlin said that when Zimmer first asked for an extension after the inquiry's hearings concluded in April 2022, the provincial court judge promised to deliver the report in September 2022.
"There have been three extensions and no report has been issued," McLaughlin said in the statement. "Judge Zimmer was also offered additional resources to support him, which were declined."
Zimmer was appointed in July 2018 to lead a provincial fatality inquiry that investigated why Afghanistan war veteran Lionel Desmond killed three family members and himself in their rural Nova Scotia home in January 2017. The inquiry faced several delays, including an 11-month adjournment caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Zimmer did not respond to a request for an interview.
McLaughlin said the government could not impose a deadline on Zimmer because of the independence of the judiciary and, by extension, the fatality inquiry. The province's Fatalities Inquiries Act, however, permits the appointment of a new judge when an inquiry judge retires. That's what happened on June 30 when the government decided against extending Zimmer's term on the bench.
"Our only focus is to provide the families and all Nova Scotians with the answers they deserve as quickly as possible," McLaughlin said.
Last week, Premier Tim Houston said his government decided to replace the judge because his report was taking too long to complete.
On Monday, the chief judge of the provincial court, Pamela Williams, announced she had appointed provincial court Judge Paul Scovil to take over responsibility for the inquiry.
"Government did not make this decision lightly," McLaughlin said. "The (Desmond) family and all Nova Scotians have been waiting far too long for answers."
Two days after Houston's comments, Zimmer wrote to inquiry lawyers saying he had told the government he planned to hand in his report in August, and he said the decision to dismiss him was based on misinformation and ignorance.
"Suggesting that I have delayed the inquiry process, including the filing of a report, is offensive," Zimmer wrote in the letter, obtained by The Canadian Press. "It displays the minister's ignorance of the complexity of the process. This fatality inquiry report is not a news article to be read on the radio."
In the letter, Zimmer said he had already written 200 pages of the final report. He also pointed to the large volume of material he had to review. The inquiry heard from 70 witnesses during 56 days of hearings, which generated 10,447 pages of transcripts.
"The period of time from the date of counsel's final submissions in late April 2022 until June 30, 2023, is approximately 14 months," Zimmer's letter says. "The aforementioned volume of material before the Inquiry is enormous and cannot be abbreviated simply because the minister is of the view that it should be an easy task to complete."
Liberal Opposition Leader Zach Churchill has called for an investigation into how the government dealt with Zimmer, suggesting there may have been interference with an independent judicial body.
NDP critic Suzy Hansen said Attorney General Brad Johns should have allowed Zimmer to finish his work, given the fact the government had been told the report would be completed in about a month.
This report by The Canadian Press was first published July 11, 2023.

mortal sin; nct dream
chapter four; keep your demons close
masterlist
words; 4.8k
genre; nothing really
warnings; suggestive themes, strong language
preface; this is the most we've seen of Joohyun I think, what do we think of her? I'd love to hear your thoughts <3
Oh my... I've eaten a week's worth of food just this morning, yet my stomach is still growling! Pregnancy has been... interesting to say the least. I didn't mean to snap at Hyeonhok. He was only trying to help me, I feel so horrible about it. It doesn't make me feel better that I "can't control it", that's an excuse! He still personally delivers every meal I request with a smile. I'm so wracked with guilt I don't know what to do with myself. I'm very close to locking myself in a closet until the baby is born.
I didn't need a reward to finish my research, but the promise of reading a few more pages of this diary made me more eager to finish. Whether it was the media I consumed growing up or my morbid mind, I couldn't shake the feeling that something bad was going to happen to this woman. How did her diary end up in a library, one in this realm at that? If she isn't a demon, this is all the more troubling. Despite the foreboding nature looming over each page, I was completely immersed. Oung's writing is captivating. Her emotions flow through each word like I'm directly experiencing everything she describes. She's bubbly and theatrical, reminding me of someone special.
The thought shoots me straight back to my final year on Earth. It felt like hours of me sitting there, visualizing the bloodied box that slashed at my chest each time it flashed in my brain. I cradle my head in my hands. Why did I have to look in that damned box? No matter how many days pass, I never stop thinking about if Minkyung intended for me to see that.
I stare down at the aged diary, drifting into space and hoping Oung is okay.
-
"...that takes us to current day, when Lord Taeyong is crowned Lord of Devildom. Things are a lot safer now and the capital is thriving more than ever. Buildings are less of an eyesore and the city looks more modern. He made changes to the laws by adding a lot more. Before he was appointed, the amount of laws added up to a single digit number." Mark points to the screen with an unnecessary pointing stick. I had already known all of this. If he would just let me and Joohyun help we could've been much farther ahead. We're the strongest group, yet we haven't even started.
"This lecture was really helpful actually, I'm guessing this plays into your plan to get this realm on our side...?" I raise my eyebrows, throwing the ball in his court. I knew he didn't have an actual plan yet, he just wanted to flex his painstakingly extensive knowledge of the Telestial realm. Hopefully this gets him to get on with it while making it seem like his idea all along.
"Oh. Right. The plan..." Mark stammers and I withhold the urge to groan. Joohyun yawns beside me, stretching her arms into the air.
"It's getting late! Maybe we should pick this back up tomorrow morning."
I gawk at her incredulously. It was only midnight, and we were seriously behind. We need all the time we could get.
"Are you seriously tired? Ha! I could stay up until the sun rises, even without coffee. I understand if you need to rest, though. Meeting adjourned I guess." Mark shrugs.
"I'm sorry, last night was a long night. I needed to make sure I was caught up with you guys." Joohyun smiles apologetically. "Let's make it up by meeting early tomorrow morning!"
"I can't tomorrow morning, but we'll figure something out." Mark sighs as he walks both of us to the door. "Next time I'll make sure to tell you my plan, you'll love it!" He pushes us out of the door before shutting it in our faces. Both of them are rushing to end the session as if we're not behind.
I turn to Joohyun and nudge her. "Hey, was that another trick I didn't pick up on?"
"Oh, no! Don't worry," Joohyun waves her hand, "I really am tired. I'll make sure to do what I can behind the scenes."
She starts to walk away but I stop her by pulling on her arm. She looks down at my hand with a blank stare.
"I don't know about you, but I don't want to stay here forever-- this school thing or the Telestial realm. Finishing this project will get us closer to getting out of here."
She laughs, still staring at my hand. "I can't believe you grabbed my arm."
I blink at her. "Sorry, did I come off as rude? I didn't mean to."
"No, it's not that... it's just that beings are usually afraid to even breathe incorrectly around me."
"Really? Huh."
Joohyun definitely seemed sketchy, but scary? She was a small, regal woman. Maybe her stately aura intimidated people. "I don't find you scary at all."
"You don't strike me as the type to be easily frightened." Joohyun acknowledges. She should see me when Renjun is around.
"I'd say we both have good impressions of each other." I smirk, only faltering when I realize that's technically a lie.
"I guess that's true. If I'm honest, I don't think that way about many people here." Joohyun lowers her voice, flashing an awkward grimace.
"You know what? I feel the exact same way." I admit apprehensively. "Perhaps we're judgemental."
Joohyun shrugs. "Just one more reason we're compatible I guess." She raises her eyebrows before walking away.
Every day brings another interaction where I click with someone. It was worrying that both those people weren't the most polite beings, but it made me feel a tad more comfortable. Being able to have a conversation where I wasn't constantly trying not to die or flatter a narcissist was a breath of fresh air. Even if it might be a trick. I have to keep in mind that Joohyun is scarily good with those.
Right now, what's important is getting this plan sorted. A quick trip to the vending machine wouldn't hurt. As I rounded the corner I heard voices getting closer.
"What did he say?"
"He said it was an excellent plan and that he might pick ours. No one else is even finished yet."
Standing in front of the vending machines are three men. One I didn't recognize, YangYang, and the devil himself.
"No one else is finished?! Not even-" The unfamiliar man's eyes land on me. "the teacher's pet group."
Renjun and YangYang both turn to look at me. YangYang greets me while Renjun stands up straight, growing more rigid. I sigh, clenching my eyes shut. "Is that the name everyone is calling us?"
"Yikes. Sorry prototype. I'm Baekhyun." He extends his hand with a tight-lipped grin. I accept his hand. So many people to meet.
"Prototype is yet another name I have to worry about." I laugh awkwardly.
"At least that one's 100% a compliment. You should be honored!" Baekhyun pats me on the shoulder, much too comfortable with someone he just greeted seconds ago.
"I try, but I'm not totally sure what it means."
"Thanks to you we don't all have to be starved." YangYang laughs. I laugh back, my amusement coming off rather unconvincing as I put the pieces together. First the phone, now this. Am I really getting the short end of the stick here?
"Aw come on. Like I said, it's a compliment! You should've heard Taeyong gushing about how strong-willed you were." Baekhyun says.
"I guess. I just wish there was another way he could've found that out." The last thing I needed was to starve again I thought.
"Anyway, it was nice meeting you, Prototype! We gotta go fine tune our plan. I'll see you around." Baekhyun salutes.
"That's right, you guys are finished. Is this your group?" I ask.
"Correct. We'd be the top group if Mark weren't wrapped around Taeyong's finger." YangYang rolls his eyes.
"We're a bit of a letdown. We have no semblance of a plan." I admit regretfully.
"I can't say I'm surprised. Mark can't take his head out of his ass long enough to be productive-"
"Easy." Renjun finally speaks since he saw you.
YangYang groans. "Fine. But all I'll say is I feel sorry for you. Mortal to mortal."
"I'm sure I can figure something out. Thanks for worrying, though. What's your guys' plan?"
"Good question! Our plan is to-" Baekhyun prepares to present it theatrically to do their grand plan justice when Renjun stops him.
"Nice try. Figure you're own shit out. Let's go, guys." Renjun unfolds his arms before grabbing his drink from the machine and leaving.
"Yeesh. Sorry again, Prototype." Baekhyun glances over his shoulder before following Renjun. YangYang lags behind for a minute, staring at him incredulously.
"What's his deal?"
I laugh loudly. "Seriously? I think we all know by now." I slowly quiet down when I notice YangYang staring at me. "Wait..."
"What do you mean?"
Do other people not know? Is there a reason for that?
"I mean, he's always been a little uptight, right?"
"No, no, no! Don't switch up on me. You know something don't you?" YangYang narrows his eyes at me with a smirk.
"I just realized you might be friends with Renjun and might not want to talk shit about him..." I shrug. It'd be a miracle if he believed this. Where's Joohyun when you need her? He gives me a knowing look and I sigh.
"You noticed the 7 deadly sins, too?" He whispered.
I start to respond but end up frozen with my mouth open like an idiot. I look up at him in defeat. "I didn't even notice, Taeyong had to tell me."
"Wow! Taeyong was talking about how you were smart, but now I'm starting to doubt his judgment."
"To be honest, I don't blame you." I mumble.
"Hey, teasing isn't fun if you submit so easily. I can tell you're smart, but if you're really smart, you'll keep this between us and the demons." He steps closer, glancing around as he lowers his volume. Why would YangYang care about that?
"That's cute, you care about the demons."
YangYang scoffs. "Yeah, sure."
That can't be the reason. So what's his deal? I can't help but note his closeness with Joohyun. The next morning I find myself monitoring them. YangYang looks to get along with his group, chatting and laughing naturally. On the outside, it would seem like Joohyun is doing the same. So neither of these observations should be trusted. It'd be best if I try a different approach to figuring this group out.
What I couldn't understand was why they were pretending to be close to the demons. YangYang looks to be best friends with Renjun, and you'd think Joohyun reciprocated Mark's blatant crush.
"So far I only have one group with a concrete plan. We're nowhere near the deadline, but I expected more groups to at least have an idea of what they were doing." Taeyong reports, doing little to cover up the disappointment in his voice. "To be fair, a lot of you are new to this realm. Telling you to win over largely unfamiliar beings was my bad, so today we'll be learning about demons." Taeyong scans the room as he pushes a button. He turns toward the picture of biblical demons and points his stick at them.
"Thanks to Terrestrial literature, this is the most common depiction of demons. Hellish creatures that thrive off of the torture of sinful humans. We have had no contact with humans for hundreds of millenniums, so it's best you wipe this from your brain going forward." He clicks to the next slide, showing a group picture of demons. Some of them look familiar enough to blend in with humans, other are similar to the form Renjun sported that day in the hospital. I peer over at him, seeing him whisper to YangYang as he gestured toward the screen.
"Demons are not as different as you may think. Besides their abilities, the major factor at play is environment. Past rulers gave demons little to no rules or laws, so they internalized that nature. They adopted it as part of their identity." Pity was oozing out of Taeyong's words.
"As of now, demons may not be the most receptive to rules or being told how to think, but with a tiny nudge, they could see the upside in reforming. So instead of searching for a way to just muzzle the demons, frame it in a way that sounds pleasing to them." Taeyong squints with a nod. "In other words, dip the medication in peanut butter." He winks.
Taeyong claps his hands together. "Now with your groups, try and figure out a plan better suited to modern day demons!" He orders before turning to switch off the projector.
"Oh, one more thing,” He swings back around, “this is a test. In the future, it would be in your best interest to become efficient public figures. There's only so much I can do as one lowly demon."
-
It's no use. Mark is a lost cause.
"I'm sorry, did you just say we should promise the demons fewer restrictions if they comply?" I blink, mouth agape. Mark smiles, utterly oblivious to how idiotic he comes across.
"Absolutely. Cover it in peanut butter, remember?" He quirks his head to the side as if he were speaking to a child and I just about lose it. I open my mouth to chew him out but instead I exhale slowly.
"Mark," I start, hands hanging in the air, searching for a gesture that helped form my thoughts, "what you just suggested isn't dipping meds in peanut butter. That's telling the dog you're gonna give him peanut butter, only to hand him a dry pill. In other words, lying."
"Lying? Pssh! That's not lying! In the world of politics, sometimes you have to bend the truth to get the public on your side. Like Lord Taeyong said, they can't see the upside of reforming so we have to show them."
"Hmm," I feign confusion, trying to stifle my unbridled rage as I bite my lip. "I'm not sure the demons will be happy about you lying to them, Mark." I all but growl at him.
"By the time they find out they'll already be distracted by how much better life will be! Don't you understand? What don't you get-"
"I completely agree with Mark." Joohyun steps in before I blow up. "The demons don't know what they truly want. They need help to get there."
"Exactly! Joohyun gets it. You know, Joohyun shows up to the meetings less and claims to be behind on her research, yet you're having a much harder time."
"Okay, that's it." I slam my hands on the table and push up from my chair. Who knows how many demon cocks I'll have to suck to navigate this hell hole, but I'll be damned if I play a tiptoeing second fiddle to an incompetent egomaniac. "I'll make my own goddamn plan."
"W-what?!" Mark shoots up as well. "Hey where are you going?" He yells after me as I storm away. I turn briefly to address him with a clenched jaw.
"I think you should worry about your plan, or lack thereof, you're gonna need all the time you can get." I cut my eyes at him before turning back around, shoving the doors open. The judging eyes weren't in the forefront of my mind, just how I was going to manage this. What Taeyong wants is a public figure, so that's what he'll get. Group or no group. I find myself in the nearest bathroom and rest my hands on the sink. The sensors trigger the water, the noise of it hitting the sleek, black ceramic fades into the background as I look in the mirror.
My fingers trace over the area my scar should be. Seeing it again really solidified its absence. It feels like my sins from when I was alive were erased, and I was given the chance to start anew.
I hear footsteps thunder into the bathroom. "Hey. There you are." Joohyun peers in before walking toward me. She looked upset, and she wasn't masking it this time. "What was that in there? I had it under control."
I exhale as I stop leaning on the sink. "Don't take this the wrong way, but... did you?" I start, giving her a wary look. "I feel inclined to trust you, but I sincerely think Mark is a lost cause."
"You realize he likes me, right?" I nod and Joohyun continues. "Sometimes emotions can sway even the most rigid people. We can use that to our advantage. Mark told me he has connections to the higher ups in this realm. He's a valuable asset. Once I have him wrapped around my finger, it could mean smooth sailing for us."
I ponder for a moment. "What would we do with said asset anyway? We only need to manipulate him for this assignment."
"Just imagine the possibilities. Access to confidential information, stronger connections than other groups, and more resources. The brothers, including Mark, have better tech than we do." Joohyun leans in with steady eyes trained on me. I clench my eyes shut. That damned phone.
"God! I don't know how much longer I can tolerate that idiot." I groan, throwing my head back.
"I know he can be a headache, but remember what I said. Emotions can sway even the most rigid people." She steps forward again, giving me a stern look. "It doesn't matter how smart you are if you let your feelings control your actions." The longer her stare lingers, the more her words permeate in my brain.
-
"Ow! Jeno-" NingNing hisses. Jeno pulls away, his heart melting at her big eyes and pout.
"I'm sorry Yizhuo, I always do this." Jeno sighs before letting his head fall forward. NingNing sighs, rubbing her shoulder that probably had teeth marks indented into her soft skin.
"It's okay. Maybe I just need to grow thicker skin." She beams. Jeno looks up, untensing under the light of her smile. "Let's go to my room, yeah?" Jeno nods, making NingNing grin. "My bed is far more comfortable anyway."
"Good point." Jeno pulls her skirt down and fixes the seat of her underwear before tending to his own disheveled appearance. NingNing sends her hands through her hair before looking at Jeno.
"Do I look okay?" She asks, voice hushed all of a sudden. Jeno holds her face in both his hands, bringing her lips closer to plant a quick kiss on them.
"You look adorable. Let's go." He grabs her hand, but as soon as they leave, she slips it from his grasp. Jeno ignores his heart and the way it ached the entire walk. Just another petal wilting off of a dying flower. NingNing pushes her door open, and Jeno can feel his growing excitement replacing the ache. NingNing gasps, slamming the door back. She whips herself around, giving Jeno an alarmed look.
"What?!" He whispers.
"YangYang is here!"
"Oh, great." Jeno rolls his eyes as he grumbles.
"Hey! Don't be like that. I'll just be a second, okay?" NingNing whispers with a pleading look. Jeno looks apprehensive. After pausing to think, he sighs. He knows how this usually goes. The person stumbles across Jeno, they ask what he's doing there, and Yizhuo gives him the look. As if to say 'don't mess this up'.
"Should... should I just leave?"
"What? No!" NingNing rushes to grab both his arms. Jeno softens his expression.
"Look, it's okay. We can always hang out later." He ruffles her hair with a crooked smile. She sighs before nodding softly.
He nods back, although it seems more for himself than anything. "See ya, Yizhuo." He leans forward and presses a kiss to her forehead before giving her a tight smile and leaving.
NingNing didn't know how to tell him she wouldn't be able to see him later. Joohyun told her to clear her schedule for the rest of the day. The next fifteen minutes were all she had. With a huff, she opens her door again and is greeted by YangYang's smug smile.
"Who was that?"
"Jeno. We're partners for the project, so..." NingNing's voice gets softer, wincing at her own words as if it wasn't necessary.
"That's lucky, isn't it? You get partnered up with your crush." YangYang's smile gets wider at Yizhuo's reddening face and wide eyes.
"What did- I don't-"
"Oh don't worry." YangYang stands from her bed with a grunt. "I won't tell Joohyun. Just don't do anything stupid, K?" He peers down at the Celestial before cocking his head to the side. NingNing swallows hard before nodding frantically.
"Good." He says with a pat on each of her shoulders. "Now come hang out with me, I've been waiting for you for ages!" He drags her back out of her room, making their way out of the building.
"Where are we going?" NingNing asks, growing nervous as they push through the doors. He stops walking to step in front of her before leaning forward.
"To party." He whispers before chuckling.
"Party? Joohyun would kill us!"
"That's just one more thing we'll have to keep secret from her." YangYang tugs at her hand again but she pulls away.
"No, she told me to clear my schedule earlier. We're having another meeting."
He stops for a moment, shutting his eyes to better focus on his thought process. "Okay... so Tiffany, right?"
"Yes...?"
"The airheaded human?"
"YangYang." NingNing scolds.
"Just tell Joohyun that she dragged you out for a project thing, but she lied and you got stuck at one of her crazy parties." YangYang shrugs.
"That's a horrible plan. Besides, any plan that involves lying to Joohyun is a bad one."
“You’re right.” He sighs, propping his head up with his thumb and index finger. “Okay, new plan. We never went to a party. We were following a lead on one of the brothers! We need to look for one anyway.”
Dread stirs in NingNing’s stomach at the mention of spying on the demons. She was trying to put it off as long as she could.
“Why the silence? This is a perfect plan! Two birds one stone, we get to relax and let loose, and we get Joohyun off our back about these damn brothers.”
NingNing picked at her brain for a response, but it was too focused on begging her not to do this. Not only was she lying to two people she cared about, but she would even be ditching one of them to do this.
“Hey, Yizhuo.”
She looks up when YangYang places his hand on both her shoulders. He snorts at her shocked expression. “Don’t overthink it. Whatever you’re worried about, I’m sure it’s not the end of the world. You can always work it out later.”
NingNing looks down, considering his advice.
“Plus, don’t you want to take a break for once?” Says YangYang with desperate yearning, “And I don’t mean thirty minutes. Losing hours without stressing about finding them.”
Finally giving in, NingNing rolls her eyes exaggeratedly. “Fine! Let’s go.”
“Yay!” YangYang uses his grip on her shoulders to shake her in excitement. He drags her once again, skipping into the neon-drenched night.
-
"Fuck- Why am I doing this?" I sigh, lowering my fist. All I have to do is knock on Mark's door. That’s all. Or, I can turn around and leave and come up with my own plan. That would definitely feel better.
But what if Joohyun’s right? I do want to get out of here as soon as possible.
I gather myself and stand up straight, knocking firmly on the door. Time to get this over with. Of course, I could've been done sooner if Joohyun let me apologize sooner. Apparently that wasn't realistic. Mark swings open the door with an expecting look on his face.
“Hello.”
“Hi, Mark…” I start, already losing confidence.
“I see you’ve given up on your own plan already.”
This little-
I catch Joohyun’s eyes behind Mark. She raises her eyebrows. Fine.
“Yes. It was much too hard. I need your help.” I swallow my pride and force a smile on my face.
“Good. Because we need you too.” Mark says before clearing his throat. He ignores my shock and steps aside. “Come in.”
“Joohyun.” I greet her dryly, more focused on communicating with my eyes. She notices my confusion and acknowledges it with a smile.
“Hey. Take a seat.” She stands from her own to pull out mine. I look around as I sit down.
“Joohyun and I spent an entire day brainstorming, and we came to a decision.” Mark speaks once both of us have settled. “We want you to be in charge of coming up with the plan.”
Shock is the first emotion I experience. Mark said “we” and went through an entire two sentences without being a cock. Then the confusion was back, with a hint of annoyance.
“I’m kind of lost on the reason you put me in charge.”
“Joohyun brought up a good point. You seem to get along with the demons pretty easily.” Mark reflects, as if double checking his memory. I chuckle.
“I’m not quite sure about that. Also Mark is a demon.”
“Yeah, but they don’t get me. Even my own flesh and blood doesn’t.” For a moment, Mark expresses an emotion I didn’t think he had the range to. What was it, maybe regret? It came and went too fast to be sure. “Not to mention I’m no bona fide demon. Even if you’re faking it, you seem to get them. Keep doing whatever Chenle saw you doing at the restaurant.”
I was already planning to do so, but the burden of coming up with my own plan felt heavier with their judgment. I could already hear Mark’s “notes”. I might be here for a century. And Joohyun, well she’s a smart woman. She surely has high standards for a plan that will have her name on it.
“You may be right, but I don’t know. I think it would be better if we conjure up a plan together.”
“And waste all our time deliberating over piss-poor plans? Listen, Mark and I tried. We failed to come up with a plan that we were confident would win over Devildom, let alone the entire realm.” Joohyun reaches across the table to rest her hands on mine. “We can’t possibly come up with a sound plan without knowing what a demon truly wants.” At this point, Joohyun’s words were just to throw Mark off our scent, because she was giving me a look that told me to go along with it.
“That’s… a good point. So if I’m coming up with the plan, what will the two of you be doing? Won’t it be boring?” I could be acting overly cautious, but it was better than risking Mark thinking I’m insulting him.
“Maybe for a while, but we’ll keep each other company.” The look Mark gives Joohyun catches me up to speed on her plans to woo him. “Once you’ve come up with a base plan, we’ll work on fleshing it out together, then we can distribute tasks from there. We’ll have to test the plan before it can be set in stone.”
Mark’s words really put into perspective how much work we have yet to do. If only I was put into another group. Even coexisting with Renjun seemed better than this.
“But before that, make sure you have a plan B and C. Just in case Joohyun and I don’t agree on the first one. For now, think of us as a council of sorts.” The thought of that seemed to please Mark greatly judging by the goofy grin on his face.
“Sounds good. Hey, what do you guys think about cutting this meeting a little short? I’d like to get started as soon as possible.”
“That sounds good as well! Meeting adjourned!” Mark shoots his finger into the air.
-
When I entered my room the last thing I expected to see was Jeno without NingNing.
“Is she in the bathroom?” I cautiously close the door behind me. I know he can’t help it, but the last thing I wanted to see was him sniffing her underwear. Thankfully, he wasn’t. In fact, he looked a bit down.
“No, I was just hanging out in here. I hope you don’t mind.”
“Not at all. I’m not gonna be here for long anyway.” I assure him as I peel off my suffocating blazer.
“Oh, are you going to that party too?”
I pause my rushing for a brief moment. “Party? No, I was gonna work late at the restaurant.”
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you. Renjun’s not in the library tonight.”
“What?” I completely freeze and look at him in disbelief. “Why not?”
“He wanted to look over the restaurant. He’s been acting really weird lately. Extra paranoid.” Says Jeno regretfully. “Sorry, I know you actually like to be there… for whatever reason.”
I drop my arms exasperatedly. “I need to go to the restaurant to interact with demons. Understanding them is a key part of the assignment.”
“Ah, you’re right. Well, maybe you could do so at the party. My roommate’s girlfriend is throwing it. She’s popular with the demons so they’re bound to come.”
“It’s not really my scene,” I start, thinking of excuses. “why aren’t you going?”
“Honestly, I wasn’t because I wasn’t in the mood, but I don’t have anything better to do.”
Jeno makes for decent company, he could make it less unbearable. With Joohyun’s words swarming in my brain like angry hornets, I let out a loud groan. “Okay. I guess I’m partying tonight.”

GOT PLAYED | JENO
Hello mam can I request a lawyer jeno scenario where reader (gender neutral so everyone can read) is a prosecutor and they are in the same court together
Lawyer Boyfriend jeno , gender neutral lawyer reader
Genre : fluff with nonsense bickering
Words: 1.5k
a/n: jeno is a big boi now! Happy jeno-ing!! Also the terms used are local to my country. It may vary in your state.
----
your butt was itching to dance out in the centre of the courtroom. Clicking your forefinger on the watch, you observed the lovely minute hand completing another circle, indicating the approaching end of the waiting time. The opposing party being a minute more late would mean nothing but good news for your client, resulting in another victory for you.
But when had you ever won anything without a little struggle! As the clock on the wall hit 11, the door of the room opened and across the room stood Jeno, breathing heavily like he had been running since hours. You rolled your eyes at his awful timing. He handed over his briefcase to his client and wore his blazer hurriedly while simultaneously bowing to the judge in deference and apology. The judge, disregarding his gesture with his hand called him to the front. You got up as well, in annoyance of course. You had very much hoped for his car to have punctured on its way but it seemed like he needed to get on your nerves even in the court as well. standing beside him, you couldn’t help but notice the wrinkles on the right side of his blazer. The oddity puzzled you at first but suddenly, with a subtle glare from his side, you were made aware of the reason behind his change of clothes. Not wearing the ones that you steam ironed last night was a show of anger towards you, even if it made him look like a fool in front of the whole chamber.
“a minute late and I’d have passed an interlocutory order against your client Mr.lee” breaking your trance, the judge warned him. He bowed again and mumbled a mannerly apology, the like of which you deserved too.
“today the hearing would start with the counter evidence of the defendant side, that is,” he sifted through the list of the evidence provided beforehand, “the bank records of both the parties. Please proceed advocate lee”
“yes, your honour. As I explained in a previous hearing, my client, mrs. Shin has been working as a manager of the Kwon industries since 14 years. On the other hand, mr. shin started a poker business with the money she used to save up for their only son’s future. All the transactions from her personal accounts to mr. shin’s were innocently carried out by her as she was kept under a false impression regarding the use of her money, which she never would have allowed in her right mind. The proof of these transfers is the evidence I’m going to present that is the receipts and annual reports.”
The urge to smack his tongue for the lies it told was uncontrollable but you breathed in. you inhaled all the bitterness back to your throat and stood there like an obedient child with a face ridden of any expressions.
After what felt like minutes, you snapped your head in his direction to notice the browsing he was doing in his briefcase. The questionable look on his face drew a smirk into your own as you understood the sensitiveness of the matter in hand. He forgot. The papers!
Throwing your charitable side out of the door, you turned towards the judge,
“it seems like the opposing counsel has nothing to produce, your honour.”
You felt his clenching jaw and irritated eyes.
“mr. lee, if you are unable to proceed then i’ll have to pass a maintenance order against your client.”
“no!” he interrupted, “that would be unfair to this poor lady sir. don’t penalise her for my negligence. The evidence can turn the course of this whole case. if you may, I’d request another date-
“he’s going to forget again. He forgets everything these days” before you could control, you spit out.
The judge didn’t seem to be impressed by your uncalled interruption so he warned you to speak only when allowed. But with a mouth as big as his, jeno never knew what resistance meant so he remarked,
“and my dear friend here forgets the ethics of a courtroom, disrespecting seniors like this! There is not much difference between us then I must say.”
Your lip twitched at the not so subtle mention of the fight you had in the morning, right before the breakfast. Now you were adamant on proving that no matter the place and circumstances, you were definitely not similar to him in any way.
“disrespecting and raising matters of importance are two varied things and my dear counsel should be reading those ethic rules for himself as he’s the one jeopardising the position of his client in the court due to his own manners. I request the court to grant mr. shin all the rights to his properties that mrs. Shin had seized years ago. He’s a disabled man and he cannot work by himself and the lack of evidence is a clear indication that the defendants are just trying to waste the time of the court. Along with the rights of the properties, a lawful possession of the house and maintenance charges are also requested. All the claims can be found on the page 15 of the-
“I object, your honour. I am accepting my mistake. This woman deserves a second chance. My junior was sick and since he has no near and dear in this town, I had to go and care for him. in the hurry, I forgot the papers at home. It was not delibra-
“what if you don’t remember this next time either? Until then my client is going to suffer in a small and stinky apartment and all because of your carelessness.”
“I’m not careless,” He whispered yelled.
“yes,” now facing him, you said, arms crossed in front of you torso, “a man who can’t even hold a mug properly shouldn’t be the one talking about-
“you started it by smashing the music box. It was a gift by jaemin. I bet you did it deliberately too!”
“I was sleep walking! I apologised already! There was no need to break my favourite mug you bit-
The sound of gavel reverberated in the small family courtroom, snapping both of you in the reality.
You gulped slightly, eyes boring into jeno’s but with unknown fear. In an instant, the worst consequences of blunder you both had knowingly-unknowingly committed flashed across your eyes and you both whirled around, backs bent like you both never knew what a straight spine ever looked like!
“keep your personal and professional life separate or choose the one most suitable. The court is adjourned for two days. You both shall be heavily fined for your inappropriate behaviour. Next time, I won’t be lenient. Collect your slips from the clerk.”
Apologising verbally, you took your leave.
Standing outside, you waited for the lunch time to pass so you could pay the fine. you were mad at jeno but more than him, you were furious with yourself for losing your direction. You had done exactly what you were trying to accuse jeno of in the court.
Your eyes were closed in regret when you felt soft lips on your forehead.
Smiling widely, jeno stood there as if he hadn’t been scolded for the unprofessionalism just a few hours ago.
“don’t talk to me.” You uttered, lowering your gaze.
“awww! Look how easy it is to rile you up. Thank you though”
unsure of what he said, you asked,
“for what?”
“for fighting with me! Your bickering saved my ass. The old man was going to decide the case but your cute brain worked at the wrong time! Now I have two days to turn all my lies into a living truth. All because of you my darling.”
“what the fuck I’m gonna ki-
“yeah yeah. kiss me all you want when we are home. Be professional here!” he breathed out. “how about I treat you to a nice meal to return the favour.”
Chest heaving up and down, you looked him dead in the eye, his revelations not sounding too amusing to your ears. Raising your hand up and waving the fine slip in front of him, you challenged,
“I dare you to repeat this again and I promise you wont get enough time to regret it!”
Not that you actually expected him to cry in front of you in intimidation, a hearty laugh from his body wasn’t anticipated either.
“what the fuck je-
You were once again cut off by his lips that met your cheek in a wet kiss, lasting too long for a public setting.
You hated the way he loved testing your patience.
Moving his soft lips from your cheek to your ear, he sighed before murmuring in an indecently low voice,
“you better get a new music box before jaemin visits me or I know how to make you regret your actions.”
Unmoved, you stared at him with doe eyes. He walked away before returning back only to snatch the paper slip from your hands.
“I’ll pay and sign. Go have lunch. Try to finish early today, I’ll be waiting for you.”
Innocently smiling, he left as if everything that had happened was nothing but delusion. And you hated the way he knew you like the back of his hand. But you were going to make sure he lost this one to you. Once and forever.

Obsession pt.2 {Thranduil x F! Reader}
Word Count: 2692
Warnings: Smut
Note: This chapter is 18+, please do not read if you are a minor. This is simply a bonus part to the previous chapter.
Part One
Monthly council meetings were always a bore. Discussing politics to pull a curtain over everyone's eyes about their true intentions. They were there to try and gain Thranduil’s favor, to get him to give them funds for useless ‘projects’ in the woodlands, and to get drunk without paying a bill for their wine consumption.
Thranduil’s thumb drew comforting circles on the back of your hand as you two sat at the head of the table, vexation clear on your features as you squeezed his hand in response, giving him a gentle smile.
“I think we should break for lunch then return to finish the details.” You announced once a representative from the southern section of the kingdom finished his address to the council.
“I agree.” Thranduil nodded, everyone standing up to exit to the dining hall.
“My, King Thranduil…” Merlara, an advisor to the elven kingdoms of the west, called out to Thranduil, a coy smile on her face. “Merlara,” Thranduil nodded his head out of respect to her, your eyes flickering in between them. Tossing her hair to the side, Merlara leaned forward slightly as she began to discuss trade. Rolling your eyes, you swallowed a scoff that threatened to emerge. ‘She’s flirting with him…’ you thought, a frown forming on your features. You and Thranduil hadn’t had time to complete the courting ritual, so to everyone in the room, you were just arm candy. Nothing serious.
“Would I be so bold as to invite you to a night of craft--” You cut her off before she could finish.
“Last time I checked, it was frowned upon to try to come in between a courted couple.” The bite in your tone was unmistakable, purposefully locking an arm around his middle and resting your head on his shoulder. “He’s mine.” Your eyes narrowed with possessiveness as Thranduil quirked a brow, enjoying this side of you.
“Well, as far as I can tell, you two haven’t finished courting so he’s free game.” Merlara bit back, not liking you getting in her way of becoming Queen of Mirkwood.
“As far as I can tell, your blood would look really nice on this stone floor after I trounce your face in.” You growled, moving to stand in front of Thranduil.
Thranduil’s stomach flipped pleasantly at the thought of you so ferociously defending your love for him, tugging you back by the waist to give you a kiss on your neck. “Merlara, if you couldn’t already tell, you will never have my affection as much as my beloved.”
“Damn straight.” You huffed, tilting your head to let him keep kissing your neck.
“I can’t wait to get you in private and ravish you,” Thranduil whispered huskily in your ear as she stalked away, trying to maintain some form of dignity. You felt your stomach clench as your arousal flared, your tongue flicking out to lick your bottom lip. Trying to maintain some ounce of control to not say screw it all and go back to your bedding chambers.
Gulping you pulled away slightly, your movement making you hyper aware of Thranduils… Situation. Pressing a kiss to his cheek, you drowned in his smell, his being, before mumbling “I can’t wait until you mark me up to show that even without a moonstone I’m yours. And that you are mine.” You whispered back before pulling away completely, leaving Thranduil to hold in a whine as you sauntered over to the dining table to eat with the visiting council members.
‘Mine’ Kept swirling in Thranduil’s mind, his thoughts always drifting over to your display of protectiveness over him, your eagerness to defend your relationship. His chest fluttered with an unknown feeling, something deeper than love that he hadn’t felt about another before. ‘He’s mine’ He could hear your voice in his head. Thranduil stifled a groan by coughing into his fist, feeling his pants tighten, before he too joined the council members for their meal.
Merlara watched with narrow eyes, a tight smile on her face as she watched Thranduil take a seat next to you, pressing a kiss to your temple. “I can’t believe an elf of such a high standing would sink so low to be with a human,” Merlara gossiped to the ellon next to her, smirking coyly when their laughter filled her ears.
Looking up from your plate, you smiled softly. “I can’t believe such an elleth with a horrid personality would be allowed to join a council.” You responded, keeping your sweet smile, eyes shining with joy as her smirk dropped to a frown again.
The members looked between each other, confusion and nervousness clear on their faces as you interacted with Merlara. “I also can’t believe someone could be so desperate to get to the top they’d try to sleep with any king they could find.” You bit into your cherry tomato, a smile still on your face as you felt Thranduil hold your hand, non-verbally telling you he supported you.
“King Thranduil?!” Merlara gasped out, rising from her seat.
“Yes?”
“How dare you let such scum treat me in such a vile manner, me, a member of your council, one of your longest and closest allies?!”
Rolling your eyes, you kept your seat. “As far as we are aware, you are the true scum here, Merlara. And if you don’t like Thranduil and I courting each other so badly, then you can take your filthy---”
“I think you can all send your final project inquiries and requests through letter, our meeting for today is adjourned.” Thranduil spoke before you could get too riled up, feeling his own trousers now uncomfortably tight from your display.
“King Thranduil?!”
“If you will all forgive me, me and my beloved have urgent matters to attend to.”
And with that, the two of you exited the dining hall, hurrying toward your shared bedding chamber with excitement bubbling in your skin. Thranduil threw open the door, swinging you inside before slamming it shut, the lock clicking in place before he pushed you against the wall. His lips sealed against yours, moving with a fierce passion. Your hands snaked into his hair, tugging at his scalp as your teeth began to clash, tongues snaking together as your pulse began to race beneath your skin.
Thranduil gripped at your butt, his hands kneading the flesh as he groaned into your mouth, the sound going straight to your core as he lifted you to grind his arousal against you. “Thranduil,” You exhaled, tilting your head against the wall as your eyes stared upwards, half lidded with lust. Thranduil began nipping at the skin of your neck, enjoying watching your skin bloom with flowers of red and purple, displaying his claim of you.
“Mine,” He growled in your ear, licking the shell of it before resuming his attention to your neck. Using his hips to keep you up against the wall, Thranduil let his hands wander to your chest. Relishing in the feeling of you beneath his hands, Thranduil’s eyes narrowed at the fabric separating him from feeling the softness of your skin.
Bringing his forehead against yours, Thranduil maintained eye contact as he gripped the fabric and delivered a sharp tug. A ripping sound filled the air as your chest was exposed to the cold air, your nipples stiffening in response as a gasp left your lips. “I liked that dress,” You scolded half-heartedly, a laugh clear in your voice as a grin formed on your face.
“I’ll send a seamstress to make you a thousand more.” Thranduil murmured as he lifted you from against the wall, laying you against the bed before rising to discard the material. “Your dresses are beautiful, but my dear, you are so much more delectable.” Thranduil grinned at you, a grin on his lips as he took in the sight of you displayed before him. Only left in your panties, your chest heaving up and down with excitement.
Thranduil took off his crown, tossing it carelessly to the side as he stripped off his clothing, the fine fabrics being discarded to the floor like garbage. Your eyes were drawn across his figure, your teeth sinking into your lip as you admired his lean form, muscular yet toned and defined. His skin smooth and pale like cream.
Dragging your eyes down his form, you watched as his hands began to remove his trousers and drawers, his length being exposed to your hungry gaze. His cock was well endowed, both thick and long as it sprang up against his stomach. Firm with arousal, precum already dripping from it’s tip.
“I think you are a bit overdressed, my starlight,” Thranduil decided, crawling back on the bed like a tiger stalking its prey.
“Is that so?” You quirked a brow as Thranduil nodded. “Well, maybe you should even the playing field.” You grinned as Thranduil smirked.
“Oh I shall.” Thranduil hummed as he gripped your panties, dragging them down your legs before carefully pushing open your thighs. “My my…” He was almost speechless, your arousal nearly dripping off you as you laid now bare before him.
“A true goddess you are,” He mumbled, sinking to lay on his stomach as he peppered kisses on your thighs, moving closer and closer to your heat as you felt your skin warm with excitement. The blankets felt heavenly against your skin, almost successfully distracting you until you felt Thranduil’s tongue.
Thranduil flattened his tongue, licking a thick stripe up your slit. “Oh,” You gasped out, not expecting the sensation as he hooked his arms around your thighs. He flicked his eyes up to yours, the obsessed gaze in his eyes causing your cunt to clench around nothing as felt your arousal increase. Thranduil moved one hand away from your thigh, lacing it with yours as he maintained eye contact, his tongue moving to draw circles around your clit before flicking it.
A shuddered breath left your lips, the sound encouraging your beloved as he continued to eat you out with a growing excitement. Light licks turned into sucking, the sensation making you cry our, your hands tangling in his locks as you felt a satisfied smirk against your skin. He wanted to drag every sound he could out of you.
Thranduil relished in your sounds, your taste, the softness of your skin as he buried his face in between your legs, your tugs only encouraging him to bring you closer to the brink. Your sighs turned into elongated moans as he brought his unoccupied hand to your mound. Swirling his finger in your wetness, he carefully pushed a finger inside, enjoying feeling your hips buck in response as he slid another alongside it, thrusting them in and out with a come-hither motion.
The coil inside your gut tightened and twisted, you knew it was getting close to snapping. “T-Thranduil--” You gasped out trying to give some sort of warning. Seemingly understanding your predicament, Thranduil suckled your clit harder, his fingers moving faster, pushing your sweet inner button over and over.
“Come for me, let everyone in this castle know who you belong to..” Thranduil growled before resuming his actions, the coil in your gut tightening until finally you couldn’t hold off any longer, your orgasm crashing through you like waves hitting the rocks of a shoreline. “Thranduil!” You cried out, your grip on his hair tightening as he slowed his ministration, helping you elongate your euphoria until you began pushing his head away, your oversensitivity rising.
You melted against the blankets, your eyes slipping shut as your chest heaved up and down, your heart pounding in your ears as Thranduil crawled up your body, peppering kisses along the way until he reached your lips. “Mine,” He mumbled as he nuzzled you.
“Yours,” You agreed, opening your eyes as a smile formed on your face, “And you’re definitely mine,” You stated, recalling Merlara’s actions from before.
Thranduil felt his cock twitch at your words, he too recalled the interaction you two had before.
“Definitely yours,” He agreed as he sprinkled kisses down your neck again, moving to your chest. Licking and nipping at your breasts, Thranduil settled himself in between your legs, his erection settling against your mound as he worshipped your chest.
Finally he flicked his gaze back to yours, “May I?” He questioned, wanting to ensure you were okay with continuing. Nodding you spread your legs even wider, moaning at the feel of his length brushing over your clit. “Please,” You whined as he began to grind against you. Thranduil granted your wish, sinking inside of you inch by inch, your pussy stretching wide to adjust to his girth, a moan slipping past your lips as he began to thrust wildly, not giving you a moment to adjust to him.
The sounds of skin smacking filled your ears, soon drowned out by the sounds of your moans and groans, Thranduil’s grunts mingling with them. Thranduil’s obsession swirled through his vision, the display of you so wantonly accepting him drove him to something more animalistic, his obsession taking over him. His hands grabbed at your waist while he pulled out of you just enough to flip you onto your stomach and slide back in. Thranduil’s cock sank deeper into you than before, causing you to cry out as he began thrusting deep and fast, his hand grabbing your hair and tugging.
“Say it.” Thranduil demanded.
Confusion covered your face for a brief moment before a small smirk formed on your lips. “Mine.” You spoke, grinning lustfully at the feeling of his cock twitch in response. “You are mine, Thranduil, I won’t let anybody take you away from me.” You declared before your voice dissolved into cries of pleasure as he growled, pounding into you harder than before causing your thighs to shake as you felt another orgasm threatening to roll through you. Sensing this, Thranduil snaked a hand underneath you, rubbing figure-eights around your sensitive nub to push you over the edge. “Thran...Thranduil!” You gasped out as he suckled bruises onto your neck, effectively marking you where the public could see, his fingers moving faster against your swollen clit, determined to make you reach your peak once more before he finished.
His actions worked, your body trembling as your orgasm ripped through you. Your walls clenched around his length, a groan passing his lips as your tightness sent him over the edge. A moan passed your lips as you felt him release inside you, your toes curling as he released you, pressing kisses to your shoulder blade.
Thranduil let out a low moan as he pulled out of you, reaching for a cloth to clean you up as you laid on your stomach. Breathing heavily, you sighed in content as you snuggled the pillow. Tossing the soiled cloth to the side, Thranduil carefully watched you, coming off of his crazed high.
“(Name)?” Thranduil spoke soft, not wanting to wake you if you slipped into a slumber. “Hmm?” You hummed back, turning to lay on your side to face him. “I didn’t hurt you did I?” He questioned, worry on his features as you lifted the blankets out from underneath you, slipping into the crisp sheets. He had never gotten so out of control with you before, afraid of your reaction, he waited until you answered him before crawling in next to you.
Laughing, you wiped your hand over your face before looking back at him, “Are you serious?” You questioned, noticing his worried expression. “Deadly.”
Your expression softened at his concern, “Thranduil, you didn’t hurt me.” You confirmed, knowing the lovebites across your skin could possibly indicate otherwise. “In fact, I quite enjoyed our… fornication,” You grinned as he slowly accepted your answer, a smile of his own forming as he crawled in bed next to you.
His arms slipped around your waist, tugging you to his chest, his hand cradling your head as he pressed a kiss to your forehead.
“I love you,” You mumbled, sleepiness filling your voice as you snuggled closer to him.
“And I love you, my starlight.” Thranduil muttered, watching as you drifted to sleep.

“Your Honor, the members of the jury find the defendant... guilty.”
You gave a low whistle while the Judge gave the final words, putting up a hand to return your co-counsel’s high-five without even having to look at him. Your smug grin never left your face even after the court was adjourned, only breaking into a more hyper celebration once you were out of the building.
“Fuck yeah, we deserve to celebrate!”
You laughed in agreement. “I couldn’t have pulled this off without you, Alex,” you sighed. Alexander simpered, taking the compliment very well. “Well, what can I say? I’m always up for the challenging ones.” He shrugged his shoulders, pride oozing out of his presence. You couldn’t blame him, though. You were an excellent public attorney par with even Alexander Hamilton himself, but this case had you on your toes for months, even with Alexander’s help, and the outcome was well worth the sleepless nights you shared with your friend.
The topic returned to the celebration. “We should invite everyone to me and Eliza’s place and throw a party because damn we deserve it,” Alexander suggested. You hummed thoughtfully at his offer for a bit before responding. “I’d love that, but can we move that a little later? I wanna celebrate alone with Maria, first,” you pointed out. Alexander pulled an all too knowing smirk, to which you rolled your eyes at.
“I haven’t given her much attention ever since this case came, and I’m sure Eliza’s in the same situation. Our own partners deserve to be pampered after all of this, don’t you think?”
“My Eliza’s fine-”
“Hamilton.”
You crossed your arms and raised a brow at your friend. “Let Eliza share the victory with you, I’m sure she’d be thrilled to listen about how your hard work paid off,” you reasoned out. “And besides, it’s the closest I’ll get to apologizing for stealing you away from her for months.” Alexander laughed at that, getting your point. He pulled out his phone, most likely to share the great news to his fiancé.
“Let’s have the big celebration next weekend, yeah?”
You could tell from the eagerness in his voice that he was excited to come home and spend time with Eliza. “Perfect,” you agreed. You were about to bid farewell, but Alexander was already in call with Eliza and chatting away with unprecedented joy. You chuckled at him and went to your car, dialing a number while you started the engine. It rang a few times before it was picked up.
“Hello?”
“Good afternoon, Mrs. Washington! Is Maria Reynolds still at work?”
“Oh, Miss Y/N! It’s always a pleasure to talk to you.”
You smiled at this. Martha had always been a caring boss, which is why you recommended Maria to her business when she was looking for a new job. You placed your phone on the holder at the dashboard and set it to speaker while you pulled out of the parking lot. “Maria’s still here, why’d you ask?” Martha asked sweetly. Your smile grew into a more excited one, your plans already playing out in your mind.
“Well you see, I plan to surprise her tonight with her favorite food because I won what probably is my biggest case to date.” Martha gasped and gave you a quick congratulations. “But I still have to buy the things I need. Can you stall her for me? I just need an extra two hours.”
There was a thoughtful pause at the other end of the line. You took your eyes off the road for a split second to check if the call was still ongoing, which it was. “Dear, as romantic as your plan sounds, I don’t think Maria would like being cooped up here for so long,” Martha sighed. “She’s been stressed for the past months, and I don’t think she’s taking your disappearance so well lately, to top off the work she needs to finish today...” Your heart sank at the information. Yes, you were more than aware that you’d been neglecting Maria over the case, more than you’d like, and even if she was understanding enough that you needed to prioritize your slowly rising career, you knew there were unavoidable insecurities that followed her wake.
“I’m going to make it up to her,” you replied, voice steady. “I’m going to smother her with attention for the weeks to come ‘til she gets sick of me.”
Martha laughed heartily at your determination. “So please, can you help me out and give me two hours? I promise It’ll all be worth it,” you pleaded. It didn’t take as long for Martha to answer. “Okay, but I want to see Maria coming to work next Tuesday with an honest smile. I miss seeing her so positive.” You beamed gratefully, even though she couldn’t see it. “You’re giving her a long weekend off?” you asked almost too happily.
“Aside from letting her spend time with her favorite woman, I’m sure she deserves the rest for working so hard the past months.”
“Oh Martha, thank you so much! I owe you a lot.”
Any semblance of formalities melted away. “Oh dear, you know I’m a sucker for romantic gestures! I’ll make sure she tells me everything about your night when she gets back to work,” she teased. You giggled, excitement crawling up your body by the minute. You ended the call and finished your groceries as fast as you could, and by the time you got back to your shared apartment the sun was just starting to set. Perfect, you thought. You had more time than anticipated, but you were sure to utilize every second and got to work.
After a dragging day at work, Maria finally found her way back home. She was stuck in the office for a good two hours past her supposed time out due to Martha’s unexpected request to finish some extra paperwork. She would’ve declined it, but the offer of getting a paid day off in return was too good to miss out that even an extra hour long traffic didn’t stop her. She was far too exhausted, both mental and physical, to think of anything else but to crash into the soft sheets of her bed despite her empty stomach begging to be filled up. When she got to her apartment’s door, however, she couldn’t help but stop and look at it.
She didn’t know that today was the day you’d bring the case to the court one last time for a verdict, so all she expected was to come home to an empty apartment, and despite everything still in the same place it felt more barren the past few months. And yet, as she unlocked the door and flicked the lights on, she was greeted with not only a noticeably cleaner living room but also a delectable smell wafting through her nose. It caused her stomach to growl again, and with the new smell filling the place she dropped her bag and headed to the kitchen.
“You’re home!”
Maria’s eyes popped out at the sight. There you were in your sweatpants and loose shirt, sitting across the table with your hand resting atop your intertwined fingers. A large grin splayed across your face, which grew even wider at the sight of her. The table was set up with two plates, a bottle of wine and whiskey (a strange combo, Maria thought), about three dishes, and a bowl of soup accompanied by a smaller bowl of croutons. The food before her was definitely made presentable, and if Maria wasn’t too occupied gawking (and maybe drooling a little) she would’ve pointed out how your outfit didn’t even match up to the setting.
“We won the case,” you told her, your voice laced with softness and excitement.
Maria had to compose herself just enough to answer. “Really?” she squeaked out. She was happy beyond words, both for your success and you finally being there to greet her home for once and having done this seemingly large dinner after months of surviving on leftovers in the fridge and take-outs. You nodded, watching her expression with a smile, but it quickly dropped when you saw her starting to cry. Alarmed, you got off your seat and pulled her to a tight embrace, to which she eagerly returned, taking in the faint scent of the soap you used for your bath. You planted a long kiss on the crown of her head, and the gesture only seemed to make her cry more.
“Hey, sweetheart, what’s wrong?”
And there she poured everything out. She missed coming home to your arms every night, but ever since the case you were always either gone in the office at work or holed up in the one at home. The thought made her disappointed, and maybe with a twinge of anger and paranoia, but she had to hold it back. She knew how much work meant to you, and she admired how passionate you were for it. She tried her best not to think too much of it, but the fear of you growing cold towards her scared her to no end, admitting that the effects of her past relationship with James was still affecting her.
You didn’t speak the whole time and let Maria vent it out until she reduced into quiet sobs. You kissed her forehead before pulling away from the hug so you could meet her eye to eye. “I know I’ve been so busy, which is why I’m going to make up for it,” you whispered soothingly. You cupped her face and gently wiped the tears away with your thumbs, and you could see a smile slowly grace her lips that made your heart melt. You then peppered her with short, sweet kisses all over her face, which made her giggle and squirm.
“I missed you so much, Y/N.”
“I missed you too, but I’m not going to let you have dinner with such an uncomfortable outfit.”
Maria followed your eyes to her office attire. “I drew you a hot bath just a few minutes ago, with lots of lavender from our mini garden,” you told her softly, pulling her by the waist and kissing her cheek. Gosh, you missed her so much. Maria sighed as you nuzzled your face on the crook of her neck, already imagining the beautiful smell of the bathroom awaiting her. Unfortunately, she had to pull away from the hug so she could actually get there.
After Maria took her time in a relaxing bath and changed to her own comfortable clothes, you two spent the night together, savoring the full course dinner you made with both of your favorite foods and hers, then surprising her with strawberry mousse, her favorite, for dessert. After that, and an empty bottle of wine, you two went to the couch to cuddle and watch a movie together. Though the film on the television was soon forgotten when you kept on showering Maria with kisses and compliments. Even if she asked you to stop since she genuinely wanted to watch the movie, you only replied to her with,
“Nah, I’m going to spoil you the whole weekend, and for the following weeks to come.”
And you did just that. Your attention was all on Maria day and night, and her heart could never feel so full at the sight of you. You took care of her and she took care of you, too. Of course you respected her boundaries and remained gentle with how you held her, but she knew that with you she was safe. Her initial fears of abandonment were soon thrown out the window. Maria trusted you more than ever, and you made sure to show her that she would never regret that choice.
Maria sighed wistfully, stroking your hair as she stared at the wall. The heavy drapes were drawn shut, preventing the moonlight from entering the dark bedroom. You were nestled on her bare chest, sleeping soundly while you had your arms wrapped protectively around her waist. A smile adorned your lips, and Maria took notice of it when she looked down at you.
You were at peace, contrast to the tired and frustrated expression you constantly seemed to wear while you were working the past months. Your breaths were slow and relaxed, making Maria hold a smile of her own as she studied your features. She brought a hand to your face, and you subconsciously leaned against her touch. She caressed your cheek with a thumb, her gaze trailing over to the bags under your eyes. Without your makeup, it looked much worse, but Maria didn’t care. She loved everything about you, even those eyebags that carried all the success you worked for, and she never felt luckier for having such a caring and passionate girlfriend as you.
“Oh Y/N,” Maria sighed for the nth time that night. “I didn’t think love existed until I started loving you.”
You barely stifled your amused chuckle, making Maria jump slightly at the vibration. “I’m glad to be the one to make you realize that,” you murmured, opening your eyes and ignoring the noise of surprise that she made when you let it be known that you were still awake. You shifted so that you could fully look at Maria. It was dark, but you could still make out her wide eyes that slowly softened. Her hand was still pressed to your face, so you put your own on top of it and moved to gently kiss her palm.
“And you deserve every bit of love, sweetheart.”
The way you said it so sincerely just made Maria absolutely melt, even more so when you pulled up to give her a long, tender kiss. Her hands wandered you, fingers trailing the marks she left on your skin before a hand made its way to your bare back while the other tangled on your already messy hair. When you backed away to breathe, you gave Maria one last peck on the lips before lying on her side and pulling her close.
“You know babe, seeing you like this makes me want to look forward to more of your difficult cases.” Maria laughed when you tiredly groaned in annoyance.
“No. If the next one is anything like the last I’m shoving it to either Alexander or Jefferson. I missed you too much.”

Episode 10–The Court Ends; Scene 5
Judgment of Corruption, pages 288-294
These spectacles by the name of “trials”—when was it that Gallerian had first made them into a farce, I wonder.
Was it when he declared Bindi innocent? Was it what happened with Loki? Or perhaps it was when he first acted as head judge in Ma’s trial.
No, now that I think on it, it was the first trial that Gallerian had been witness to—when he was a baby, and Elluka had received the death penalty.
From birth, he had always been involved in sham trials.
.
“I shall declare my verdict.”
Head judge Gallerian’s calm voice rang through the courtroom.
The visitor’s gallery was packed with people. This spoke to how closely society was watching this trial.
“Kill the vicious general!” someone from the gallery shouted.
As the courtroom began to fall into an uproar, Gallerian pounded the gavel he held in his hand twice.
“Silence.”
With just that single, calm word, the courtroom immediately fell silent.
The power to command the room—you could say that was one of the abilities sought after by a head judge.
…Looking at Gallerian now, I couldn’t help but feel as though I was seeing what Hanma Baldured had once been.
I know what happened to him after he left the Dark Star Bureau.
But I have no need to explain that here.
This is Gallerian’s story, not Hanma’s.
“Defendant Tony Ausdin—is innocent.”
Just as expected, the gallery exploded into chaos and shouts from Gallerian’s pronouncement.
“You’re bullshitting me!”
“There’s no way you’ll get away with this tyranny!”
Most of them were leveled at Tony and Gallerian.
He ignored them, and proceeded on to explain the reasons for his verdict.
--To sum up, he essentially accepted Tony’s version of events.
That the act of the second division was a just deed, committed due to the possibility of the Zenosai villagers having defected to the enemy, and to protect their unit.
His reasoning was that it was a villager who attacked first, and thus the unit’s counterattack was not an issue in wartime conditions.
Second Lieutenant Shiro Netsuma’s death was an accident due to a gun misfire, and not through any error of the defendant…And so on.
After finishing his explanation, Gallerian announced amidst the continuing racket:
“Court is adjourned.”
Then he struck his gavel one last time.
After taking a look at Tony’s satisfied smile, Gallerian stood and started to head for the exit.
--There was a figure in the final row of the visitor’s gallery who quietly watched him go.
It was the former sergeant major of the USE allied forces, Gammon Octo.
He had quit the military after his older brother’s trial. It seemed that presently he had become a member of the “Tasan” party in Elphegort.
After Gallerian left the courtroom, Gammon muttered to himself, “…Now you’re finished. Gallerian Marlon.”
.
Just as he said, this was to be—the final trial Gallerian would conduct as head judge.
There to greet Gallerian when he returned to the director’s room was Bruno, Hel, and Feng.
“Oh, what’s wrong? You’re all three here.”
Hel stood in front of Gallerian as he cheerfully took his seat, and declared:
“—I’ve decided to quit PN and the Dark Star Bureau, effective today.”
“…What!? You can’t just do that without permission from—” As Gallerian thoughtlessly moved to stand, Hel smacked his cheek with the palm of her hand. “…What are you thinking, Hel?”
“I’ve had enough. First it was Bindi, and now you’ve declared Tony innocent. –Tony, the man who murdered our friend Shiro. I’ve tried to put up with it, but I can no longer stand to be by your side. I don’t want my child to be ashamed of me, working for such a corrupt man as you.”
“…Were you not watching the trial? Shiro’s death was an accident.”
“Like I’d believe you after you accepted a bribe from the defendant!”
“That’s nothing but a rumor!”
Bruno moved between the two of them as they shouted at each other.
“—Director. We’ve received word from our secret intelligence unit. It seems that the Tasan party in Elphegort has obtained information that Tony’s defense attorney deposited money into your account. They’ve already started on the proceedings to indict you for this.”
“…Why did you not inform me of this before the trial!?”
“I only heard about it just now. After you had already gone ahead and declared your verdict. Tasan also apparently intends to investigate into suspicious areas of your past as well, Director.”
Gallerian turned back to Hel.
“I see. So you heard all that and thus hardened your resolve to leave me. –Hey, Feng. She struck me just now. That’s an act of assault. …Arrest Hel!”
But Feng didn’t move. Instead, he said to Gallerian, “Sorry, but I’m also no longer a member of PN.”
“…You’re abandoning me too!?”
“That’s not it. You betrayed us first, Gallerian. That I’ve obeyed you for this long was out of my sense of duty for you…But you threw that away yourself.”
“—Tch.” Gallerian pulled out a pistol from a drawer in his desk and pointed the muzzle at Feng. “If you two are to become my enemies, then I’ll kill you right here.”
“Hold on. I don’t know what’ll happen if that goes off in a place like this, and I don’t think you know either. And anyway…I wouldn’t be felled so easily by a peashooter like that. It’d be simple enough to rip out your throat before I die, at the very least.”
“…”
Appearing to give up on thoughts of detaining them, Gallerian quietly put the gun down.
“Gallerian. We’re leaving the Dark Star Bureau…but we don’t intend to become your enemy. We have no designs on your life—Though I won’t deny that I have thought about it. You need to face the judgment of the law, after all. The law that you twisted to your own ends.” Feng turned around, and said finally, “…For that’s what you yourself believed in, once.”
Then he left the room with Hel in tow.
.
Gallerian and Bruno were left alone in the director’s room.
“—What do you intend to do?” Gallerian asked Bruno.
“…Nothing. Only continue to serve you as I have done.”
“Your friends have left me. That just leaves Ma and—and two dead soldiers, a serial killer, and an inscrutable mail carrier. …You’re the only one who’s decent.”
“I wonder at that. I might just be the craziest of us all. I haven’t turned on you yet, despite these circumstances.”
“Why? Why have you not betrayed me?”
Bruno replied, chuckling faintly, “If I wanted to, I would have done so long ago. …To speak frankly, right now you are just as Feng says—you’ve forgotten the convictions you once held. You’re trash. Even if you have Michelle.”
“…”
“But I suppose it’s enough that there be at least one person who will stand by such trash until the end.…Just like the ‘Servant of Evil’, who once remained as an ally to the prideful princess, the ‘Daughter of Evil’, even dying in her place.”
“What, did you borrow that book from Ma and read it too?”
“Unfortunately I look nothing like you, so I wouldn’t make much of a body double, Director,” Bruno said, this time laughing more openly.
.
Several days later, just as Bruno’s information said, the Tasan party moved to indict Gallerian.
But contrary to expectation, they weren’t able to arrest him immediately. On Gallerian’s request Bindi had made preparations beforehand in secret, forbidding the World Police from acting.
--But this in turn invited the worst possible result.
Losing their temper, the Tasan Party leaked all of their information on the corruption of Gallerian and those around him to all forms of mass media.
These changes affecting the world that still hadn’t stopped, the continuing warfare—already miserable from these things, the hearts of the populace were ignited by these reports on the corruption that enfolded their government, their military, and their justice system.
.
On September 4th, year 983, a portion of the people in Holy Levianta’s capital Alicegrad started an uprising.
And from there, Levianta was engulfed in the flames of a civil war.

Shattered Lives Ch 20 Pt 2
“Shhh Lily bear.” He cooed as he pulled her from the crib. “Let Mum Mum sleep some more.” Gustaf figured if he let her sleep late like yesterday she’d get a full eight hours before having to get up. Not only that his work consisted of reading scripts and doing interviews. Not exactly mentally taxing so he could nap if he needed to, he’d take the weight off her while it lasted. He sat Lily in her chair as Brendan came out of the bathroom and went to get the twins out of bed. He’d thought about doing that but this was their routine. He had to adjust to them not the other way around.
He got the kids settled at the table for breakfast and sipped his tea. They talked about what plans they had for their day, the soccer match after school, the one he wouldn’t be missing, and their weekend.
“Can you watch Lily, Brendan, I need to get Ama up for work.” He asked as he finished making their lunches.
“Sure.” The teenager said as he shoved the lunch Gustaf handed him in his bag. “Come here little monster.” He said blowing a raspberry on Lily’s neck and making her giggle.
She was a sight Gustaf thought as he set eyes on her, laying on her stomach, arms and legs sprawled at different angles. Smiling he crawled onto the bed and started kissing her shoulders, then neck, and finally those lips as she rolled over and looked at him.
“I let you sleep in again.” He grinned. “Time to get up.”
“Thanks.” Her voice was groggy and she looked as if she wasn’t all the way back from Neverland yet.
“Hop in a shower love, wake up, come have tea and breakfast.”
“Ok.” She yawned and stretched catching him around the neck before he could sit up. Pulling him to her she kissed him, that erotic taste of her making his head swim.
“You can’t kiss me like that when I can’t fuck you like I want to before you go to work.” He scoffed and her chuckle was wicked.
“Get up.” He laughed and left her to shower.
She never failed to take his breath away. Standing in the kitchen a little while later in a charcoal grey suit and peacock blue blouse, the woman was drop dead gorgeous. Lily snuggled into his chest as he slipped a hand over her hip and kissed her temple, lingering.
“You’re very lucky the kids are here love or you’d be extremely late for court.” His tone low, he knew what that tone did to her and would bet the house that she was wet and wanting.
“You can peel me out of it tonight.” She purred and took Lily from him. “But right now, we have to get going.” Her kiss was chaste and his hand, lightening quick, held her by the back of her neck as he kissed her slowly and deepened it.
“Bye love.” He grinned and kissed her deeply so it made her brain all fuzzy. “Have a good day.” He whispered.
“You too.” Her kiss was equally sinful.
“Have a good day boys.” He said finally finding his voice. She stole his breath like she’d stolen his soul.
There were choruses of you too and they were gone. The whirlwind of weekday mornings were enough to make his head spin. He tidied up and went home to start cleaning out the office he was planning for Sildie.
He hadn’t been in this room for a while. It had been a dumping ground for boxes and discarded items when he’d first moved in. Some of it still remained because he’d become so busy with work after Ana left he’d never finished cleaning it out. Well not anymore he thought. Time to clean this shit up and purge the items you clearly don’t need.
He found the more he let go of his shit with Ana the more he let go of other crap in his life. He waded through boxes of old books, clothes and general junk. When he stopped for a break he called a thrift store and scheduled them to pick it all up tomorrow, at least someone else might find his junk useful.
He was rummaging through a box when his hand stopped suddenly and his breath caught before whooshing out like someone had gut punched him.
“Fuck!” He choked and let the tears fall, he couldn’t have held them in even if he’d tried. “Fuck!” He sat heavily on the floor as his legs gave out from under him no longer able to keep him upright. Pulling himself to sit cross legged he held the tiny knitted bootie in his fingers, the super soft yarn whispering to him of a pain he’d never heal from.
A bootie from a child that never existed. Another spiteful game, another ploy by Ana at completely destroying him. It had almost worked if it hadn’t been for his mother. She’d seen through Ana’s lies when he was too distraught to, blinded by grief, by hatred for the woman who he’d given every part of himself to.
He let it out, the overwhelming fury, disgust, and pain. The grief of what could have been had it not been imagined, had it not been used to twist the knife in his already shattered soul. He felt the panic attack suddenly surface. It wasn’t surprising since this discovery had come on the heels of Wednesday evening. Too much, way too much to deal with.
With the bootie still in his hand he tried to suck down oxygen as his entire being freaked out. The sensation of a heart attack, asphyxiation, and passing out quite real in his mind. The nausea and dizziness almost winning their battle.
“Breathe.” He commanded himself. “Just. Fucking. Breathe.” He choked out. His thoughts turned to Sildie, her smile, her laugh and his breathing began to calm but he was shaking violently, the adrenaline all too real. He gradually got to his feet when he thought he could stand without collapsing and finding his phone he called Sildie’s number.
He knew he’d get her voicemail but just the sound of her greeting calmed him further. He left her a brief message and hoped it wasn’t too shaky. With the sudden urge to be out of his apartment he grabbed his coat, keys, beanie, and phone and locked the door behind him.
He placed a hand on the door and breathed, that was enough to settle him so he could drive. This was the first time he couldn’t deal with being in his own apartment and he hated Ana for that. His sanctuary, the home he’d hoped to make with Sildie someday. Fuck you he screamed in his mind. Fuck. You.
He drove around for an hour or so, thoughts running through his mind like a freight train. He couldn’t deal with that, couldn’t begin to even fathom how he’d tell Sildie. Before he really knew what he was doing he’d parked at the courthouse and sat staring out over the hood of the car at a concrete wall.
His phone vibrated and Sildie’s tone filled his ears. The sigh of relief relaxed him as he answered it. Somehow he’d made it to her like his entire being just knew what he needed.
“Hi love.” He tried not to convey too much grief in his tone.
“Hey, you ok? You sounded pretty shaken up.” She was on high alert now as she heard that sorrow in his voice.
“I’m ok now, found some stuff that slammed a few memories home, you know? Too much, too soon after Wednesday.” He said and let the tears come.
She was worried, rarely did he fall apart like this, rarely did he sound so defeated, so brittle. “Where are you?” She asked gently.
He chuckled. “Actually I’d been driving around for an hour or so before I found myself parked at your courthouse.”
“You’re in the garage?” She said surprised. This was worse than she’d thought.
“Yeah.”
“Third floor, room 6. Come up and have lunch with me I’ll have them pass you through.”
“Sildie I’m ok I just...”
“It wasn’t a request Gustaf.” She said sternly and cut him off. “I need to, I need to know that you’re ok. Come up and have lunch with me.” She softened her tone burying the fear. “Please.” He could hear the worry in her voice, that concern that made it quaver.
“You sure? I don’t want to get in the way.” Which was the truth. It was bad enough she was worried about him.
“You’re not. We’ve adjourned for the day.” Please love she pleaded silently, let me take care of you.
“Ok, I’ll be up soon.” He said quietly, knowing if he didn’t get upstairs in a timely manner she’d be in the garage with a team of security and would find his sorry ass. Then she’d be pissed and worried and worried was bad enough.
She hung up the phone and explained to her first chair she’d meet him back at the office or see him Monday. Oliver was heading back anyway so they’d at least have some privacy. She had the guard on the door go down and clear Gustaf through security.
She stood carefully as the door opened, braced herself for whatever was about to come her way, hands twisting in front of her. She knew just from the way his shoulders slumped the memory had hit him harder than she’d first anticipated, harder than Wednesday even. He came to her silently, it had to be his choice to talk to her. The fact he’d called her set her slightly at ease.
His arms came around her and he just held her. Her scent, her warmth, home, comfort. “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to freak you out with my message.” He mumbled.
“It’s ok.” She took his face in her hands and kissed him sweetly. “Come sit and eat.” She wouldn’t bully him to talk, but she was hoping he’d talk to her eventually after she got him settled. His emotions were all over the place and she’d have to play it carefully.
“How long is your lunch break?” He asked as he seemed to fold himself up on the chair trying to make himself disappear.
“As long as I need.” She said softly, as she passed him half of her sandwich that he’d lovingly made for her this morning.
She smiled as he started to eat even though he probably didn’t feel like it. Her turn to care for him. She got up and went to the urn to make a fresh tea for them both giving him the space, the calm to collect himself and his thoughts.
As she placed the tea on the table and sat down she noticed he was fiddling with something, those talented fingers gently caressing fabric with such care as he stared out the window. She brushed a knuckle along the back of his hand and he sucked in a breath as he came back from where ever his mind had wandered off to.
“Sorry. Lost in thought there.” He smiled and looked at the beautiful woman across from him. How could he tell her, how could he not add more pain to those loving eyes he thought? “You were reading it.” He stated as his eyes fell on his notebook.
“At lunch I read some when I get a moment.” She said softly and he nodded letting out a slow breath as if he was preparing for battle. Which in his mind it probably was, she thought.
“I was cleaning out some stuff today in the second office. It had become a dumping ground for a lot of shit over the years. Figured while I’m home and cleaning the mind of unwanted crap I may as well clean my apartment of it too.” He chuckled but there was no humor in it.
“It’s good to purge the clutter.” Her voice was gentle as she knew this was going to hurt him so much and it killed her to see that pain in his usually bright eyes.
“It is.” He paused and looked at the item in his fingers. “I was sorting through a box when I came across this.” He said and gently placed the bootie on the table and pushed it toward Sildie, his index finger resting on it like he didn’t quite have the heart or will to truly let it go.
Oh fuck she thought, fucking fuck. Her whole body suddenly jerked with the shock of the tiny bootie in front of her like someone had slapped her fair across the face. She didn’t, Ana didn’t, Sildie thought and looked at him, those eyes so full of immeasurable pain. She did. Sildie felt that lethal fury surge forward, the plummet of her gut, that fucking bitch she swore silently. Never in her life had she contemplated homicide but she was working on it. She wanted to kill the bitch and had many creative ways to do it floating in and out of her mind.
He saw the realization, watched her mind work and click it into place. “I haven’t talked about this with anyone, it’s too painful.” He choked and took a steadying breath. “But I need to tell you, to get it out because this...” he tapped the fuzzy bootie. “This has ripped those wounds wide open again and I can’t breathe, I can’t get past it.” The sobs threatened and he slammed them down. He would get this out, he owed her the truth. Her finger stroked the back of his hand until he breathed and calmed his thoughts. She stayed silent not trusting her own emotions for the moment. She was barely breathing from the lethal fury coursing through her at the woman who had fucked with him, he was devastated.
Once he was more settled he sipped his tea and continued. “At the end of our relationship, when things had started turning really sour, Ana came home one night to tell me she was pregnant. I think it was her last ditch effort in keeping me chained to her. It brought us back together for a short time, I was determined to make it work for the sake of our child even though I had my doubts it was mine. We set up a nursery, bought clothes, did all the preparation. But when it became too difficult for her to continue the charade she faked a miscarriage.” He choked on his own words as they ripped his throat to shreds on their way out.
“I was devastated, heartbroken.” His voice cracked and her hand shot across the table and gripped his to urge him to get it all out. “I only found out later that it was all bullshit. My mum had done some digging of her own. Was I that fucking stupid?” He asked her through tears as he looked at her. “Was I so fucking stupid to not see something wasn’t right? So stupid to want to make it work when she was clearly in it for what, money, the joy in my pain? Fuck I don’t know anymore.”
“No love. You’re not stupid.” She murmured, standing she moved to him. “You’re kind, and gentle, and loving, but you’re not stupid.” She wrapped her arms around him and held his head to her as he cried. You’re just a man that’s far too kind and sweet for his own good she thought.
“How was I so blind to what she was?” His voice was hoarse.
“She’s a master manipulator love. A narcissist, and they’re very good at playing those sorts of head games.” She said softly, kissing his brow.
He pulled her into his lap and just held her as she held him. Sildie was at a point she was ready to find this Ana and make her regret ever tangling with him.
“I’m sorry. Shit, I’m sorry Sildie. You don’t need this right now and we’re at your work and...” He said suddenly as if realizing they weren’t at home. She cupped a hand to his cheek and wiped the stray tear away.
“It’s ok love.” She kissed him lovingly, that sweetness that soothed. “Thank you for telling me, coming to me.”
“I’m sorry I just needed you.” He rested his head against hers. “Sorry, I’m being so fucking needy.” He huffed.
“I’m always here for you love. Even if it’s a little delayed because I’m in court. I’ll always find time for you.” Especially at the moment when you’re so lost she added silently.
“I should go and let...”
“Stay a while.” She kissed him tenderly. “Please? There’s no rush. I just have some reading to do before leaving early for the game tonight and I can do that right here. With you.”
“Fuck what time is that again. I swear my brain isn’t functioning right now.” He scrubbed a hand over his face and swiped the tears away.
“It’s at five. You can hang here if you want for a few hours and follow or go home first, it’s up to you.” She kissed him again and she felt him relax. “Drink your tea.” She smiled. “Relax your mind.”
“Thank you.” He said quietly as he kissed her temple.
“Together remember.” She looked at the bootie and her heart sank. He wanted kids, it was obvious, and she was still on the fence. That was a much bigger problem for another day.
He sipped his tea and let his mind wander. Mainly to him and Sildie having a brood of their own. He knew she didn’t want kids and that thought weighed heavily on him. For the immediate future they had four kids to raise, wasn’t that enough?
“Another tea?” She asked and stood collecting her cup. He nodded and she took his with her to refill.
Sitting across from him again she placed the teacups on the table. She picked up the bootie and held it a moment, his eyes following it as she slipped it into his notebook with all the other toxic memories. He felt the pang of loss again as she closed the cover. It was where it belonged now, he thought, in with all the other shit Ana had put him through. The child was nothing it a lie, it was never real and he had to remember that.”
“Are you ok if it stays in there?” She asked gently.
He nodded quickly. “It’s where it belongs.”
“I need to do some reading you ok to sit with me for a bit?” She asked hoping he’d stay. She was worried for him at the moment, his state of mind more fragile than she’d first thought.
“I’ll finish my tea and then go home and get some stuff done before the game. I have a load of laundry that needs to end up in the dryer.” He chuckled dryly. He was starting to come back to her she thought. Those eyes of Viking blue clearer now even if they were rimmed with red.
“Could you grab my longer coat for me? I forgot to toss it in the car this morning as someone was distracting me with kisses that were very tasty.” She smirked.
“Anything for you love.” He reached across the table and took her fingers in his and brought them to his lips. He kissed them and nipped her knuckle playfully. He needed to put it away, he couldn’t stay in that blackness for too long or it would consume him whole, again, and it was bad enough the first time around. He’d let it out, he’d told the one person that mattered, now it was time to put it away, move on from it.
She watched him bury it, putting it aside so it didn’t come between them. She read her files, her fingers intertwined with his as he sipped his tea, absently stroking them but well aware of his mental state. Watching her work he felt the calm settle over him and by the time he’d finished his tea he he would have just enough time to make it home, collect her coat and grab some snacks for the game. He squeezed her fingers and brought them to his lips, kissing them before he stood.
He didn’t have to tug her to her feet, she stood and wrapped her arms around him without hesitation. She could feel his sorrow, his pain, it ripped through him like a storm cloud tearing itself apart on a raging wind.
“Feeling better?” She asked gently.
“Much, thank you.” He kissed her, that slow burn that promised so much more.
“See you at the game?” She asked breathless.
“You bet.” He kissed her again. “Text me when you’re on your way.” He said softly and pulled his coat on. “I may need the reminder.”
“I will, drive safe love.” She kissed him slowly, that lingering kiss that spelled seduction. Watched as he walked away, those long legs eating up the floor quickly.
As soon as he got home he went straight to the office and dug around in the same box the bootie was in. There was nothing else to remind him of the phantom child. Breathing a sigh of relief he sat on the floor heavily. The sooner this crap from their relationship was out of his apartment the better.
Two more boxes to go and he would tackle those tomorrow before the guys from the second hand store arrive to pick everything up. He took the three bags of trash down, happy to finally be rid of it, grabbed snacks and Sildie’s coat and headed to the game, her text tone filling the elevator on his way down to the car. He wasn’t going to be late or miss this one for anything.
He made it to the game before Sildie, which wasn’t unusual as she had to collect Lily from daycare. He sat in their usual spot, the twins barreling over to him at full speed and tackled him in a bear hug.
“You came.” Liam grinned.
“Sure did.” He grinned and gave them quick hugs before their coach called them back over.
“Go on, I’ll be right here, all game.” He chuckled as they sprinted back to their team.
He heard the dad dad before he saw his two best girls. Turning he smiled and clapped his hands for Lily and she almost threw herself at him.
“Hello little lady.” He said kissing the toddler until she giggled. “Hello lovely lady.” He murmured in that low timbre she’d missed over these past weeks.
“Hi.” She trailed a finger down his jaw and kissed him sweetly. His eyebrow arched. It was the first time she’d kissed him here, in public.
“Where’s Brendan?” Gustaf asked when he didn’t see the teen with her.
“Last minute sleepover.” She handed over Lily to Gustaf and pulled her heavier coat on that stopped the chill dead. “He’s hitting the rink tomorrow with a hockey buddy for some skating practice.”
“It means a lot to him.” He said sitting Lily in his lap and helping her clap her hands for the boys as they took the field.
“Yes, it was Quinn’s favorite sport to watch and when he suggested it to Brendan the kid took to it like a duck to water. Now he just wants to make his dad proud.”
“It’s good for him too, team building, team work.”
“It is. Same for these two trouble makers.” She nodded and stood up as Finn had the ball. “Go go go go.” She breathed as he tore down the field.
“He got it!” Her smile was electric and he kissed her temple as she sat back down.
“He got it. One for Liam?”
“Fingers crossed.” She said grinning. He looked slightly better than a few hours ago she thought, but he was still reeling. He was here though, with her, with the kids, talking. Things were better even with the shock find today.
By the end of the game the twins had a goal a piece and were on cloud nine when they came off the field.
“Did you see it Gustaf?” Liam asked beaming. “Did you see it?”
“Sure did, and Finn’s. What do you think Ama, ice cream to celebrate?”
“I think that’s perfect.” She grinned as the twins climbed all over Gustaf with hugs and excitement. This was just what he needed to pull him back from all that grief today.
The kids piled into the car as Gustaf strapped Lily in her car seat. He shut the door once Finn was in and pressed Sildie against it kissing her deeply.
“With Brendan at a sleepover, do you think Lily can sleep in his room tonight?” He kissed her again, more seductively than the first.
“Perhaps.” She grinned, knowing his mind had gone exactly where hers had.
“Because to be honest I can’t fit on his bed comfortably while I fuck you until you scream.” He chuckled. “I have a taste for you tonight love.” He growled and she felt her wetness pool at that tone. “I’m going to make you come all night long.” He gently nipped her bottom lip, gave her a scorching gaze and stepped back.
“See you at home love.” She said breathlessly, the sudden chill from not having his body pressed against him making her shiver.
“I’ll pick up dinner.” He quipped as he walked to his car.
“Fuck me.” She breathed out as she watched him leave, the swagger making her smile. “He turns me on from frigid to fuck me daddy like no other.” She muttered and opened the car door once she’d composed herself.
The twins talked on the way home and entertained a now tired Lily. She was starting to implode by the time Sildie got through the door, and was almost screaming for Gustaf before her bath.
“He’ll be back soon Lily.” She soothed and let the water trickle over the quietly sobbing child. “He’ll be back soon with pizza and snuggles. And we’ll work on making him feel better, he’s had a rough day.”
Gustaf came home about twenty minutes later with pizza and ice cream for the boys and Thai and dessert for the adults. The faint sob of dad dad as Lily reached for him made him smile. “Come here little lady you’re beyond it.”
“She was beyond it when we got out of the car.” Sildie said handing over the cranky toddler. She cleared off her chair and dumped her bag next to his and smiled at the sight, homey, normal. She looked at the twins and then at Gustaf. Ice cream before pizza, and she let it slide. She couldn’t ruin a moment where things were settled. They’d eat the pizza, what did it matter if it was after dessert she thought?
“Thai?” She asked sitting down.
“Yeah something different.” He chuckled. Lily she noticed was tucked into him and nearly asleep.
He would make such a great father, the tiny voice in her head said cheekily. She almost choked on that thought. Did she really want kids? To add to the four they were already responsible for, that she was responsible for? That decision was still a long way off and a maybe at that, there was nothing solid about it yet. Besides, she was over forty, hadn’t that ship already sailed?
“Sorry what?” She chuckled.
“You were off somewhere else.” He smiled and brushed a finger over the back of her hand.
“Sorry, long day. My mind keeps drifting back to the case.” The case of do I want kids with you? And she needed to put that out of her mind. It would be too raw for him to discuss right now, and she didn’t even know if she wanted that, one step at a time.
“I have some guys coming over tomorrow to collect the junk I don’t want anymore and I have two more boxes to sort before one.” He repeated as she found the box of rice.
“That’s fine, we’re here this weekend, nothing planned. I’ll be reading as usual.” She snorted.
“Our normal.” He chuckled.
“Yeah. We should adjourn for discovery Monday or Tuesday. Today went well so we’re back on track after the near disaster last week.” She forked some coconut rice with beef masuman into her mouth and almost moaned. “Where did you get this from?”
“Waan Thai. They’re my favorite.” He said and shifted the deadweight of Lily in his arms.
“I can see why. So good.”
“As authentic as you can get without leaving the country.”
“She’s asleep.” She chuckled and speared a shrimp off his plate when he looked down at the sleeping child.
“Living dangerously I see.” He growled. “I happen to like coconut shrimp and you keep stealing them off my plate.” He laughed as she tried to steal another and their forks clashed as he defended his food.
“Gotta be quicker than that love.” She winked at him as she speared another and ate it.
“You’ll pay for that.” He growled and she knew he’d collect after the kids had gone to bed.
She tidied up as he put Lily down and made a pot of tea. When he didn’t come out she went to find him. Leaning on the doorframe she watched as he talked to her softly, her tiny hand gripping his finger tightly.
She knelt behind him and ran her hands over his shoulders and down his chest, kissing his temple. “Come have some tea.” She whispered. “We can move her once she’s out cold.”
She stood up and helped him to his feet. It was only then she saw the tears. She wiped them away tenderly and stood there cradling him to her. This wound was much deeper than the others.
“Sorry.” He huffed a chuckle.
“Don’t be, it’s ok.” She said softly. “Better you let it out than lock it away again.” She smiled. “At least that’s what some guy told me once.” She quipped kissing him sinfully. She’d use sex and seduction much like he had done to pull her out of the all consuming abyss.
“Some guy huh?” He huffed in mock annoyance.
“Yeah just some guy.” She kissed him again shrugging and felt the smile tug his lips. “Some guy that rocks my world just by looking at me the way he does.” Those ocean eyes met her and she smiled. “Just like that. Like I’m the only woman in the world.”
“You are for me.” He murmured and kissed her with that love he’d unbound this past week.
“Come on some guy.” She grinned. “The tea’s well brewed by now.”
They sat at the table for tea while the twins played quietly in their rooms. Liam was banned from video games for two weekends and Finn didn’t want to play alone as Brendan wasn’t home.
“I have a few interviews over your way Monday. Maybe get together for lunch?” He asked sipping his strong tea, toying with her fingers.
“I’m going to say maybe. I have to see what the day is going to throw at us.” She said and took his hand. “I want to but I have to see.”
“Fair enough.” He smiled and thought he might just sneak in and watch her from the back of the courtroom. He’d wanted to see her work from their first Friday tea date. Those were moves of a different kind he wanted to see.
As he sat he calmed, composure a hard task master after the rollercoaster of emotions today. Eventually needing to keep busy he got the twins in the bath and talked while they played, letting them splash him as few times before he retaliated and they had a small water fight. Once dry they headed back to their room to read and chill before lights out as Gustaf cleaned up the mess.
He came back into the living room to soft jazz, a fresh pot of tea, the dim lights, and Sildie in the kitchen tidying up. He smiled, she was trying to care for him as he’d cared for her only weeks ago. A sob threatened and he rammed it down. No other woman he’d dated had ever done something like this for him before, cared for him before. He had obviously been dating the wrong women he thought dryly.
He looked tired and stressed as he came into the living room, not surprising after his shock find this morning, she thought. She walked to him and caught his hand before he could sit, pulling him into her arms and swaying.
“Dance with me.” She murmured and sighed as those hands found their place on her body.
“Romancing me?” He smiled, swaying with her.
“Trying.” She chuckled and kissed him tenderly. “I’m not as good as you at it.”
“It’s working just fine love.” He breathed and nuzzled her cheek kissing her temple as they danced slowly. “You have the kindest heart.” He said so softly she almost didn’t hear it.
“So do you love. It’s just been taken advantage of for far too long.” Her words hit him hard and he had no choice but to let the tears fall, silent but not unheard. “How do I help you love? What do you need from me?” She asked just wanting to take all his pain away so he didn’t have to feel it anymore.
“This. You.” He sniffed. “Just you.” He chuckled. “And the audience we have at the door.” He murmured and she looked up to see the twins watching them.
“They’re missing their parents.” She whispered, her finger trailed his jaw and she kissed him sweetly. “Quinn and Dana used to dance in the kitchen while Dana was cooking.”
“That’s a nice memory for them.” He kissed her brow and smiled as a tiny pair of hands squeezed his thigh. He looked down to see Finn hugging him and Liam hugging Sildie.
He stopped and dropped his hand to rest on the kids head. His heart filled to bursting with the love that he felt from them. He looked at Sildie and her smile rocked his soul.
“They care about you.” She whispered and kissed him gently. “They don’t like seeing you hurting either.” Her thumb brushed the stray tear away and her kiss seemed to calm him.
He crouched down and bundled the kids to him for a hug. So much love in them and they gave it so freely. Without a word he hoisted the both up and carried them to bed to tuck in.
“Love you.” Liam said softly as Gustaf peeled his arms from around his neck.
“I love you too but time for bed ok?”
“Are you ok?” Finn asked quietly.
“I’ll be fine. Rough week, but I have you guys to come home to and get to watch you score goals, so my week got better.” He smiled.
“The weeks done though so you can have a better week starting now.” Liam said brightly.
“I like that idea.” Gustaf said and smiled at the kid.
“Can you read to us?” Finn asked quietly.
“You want me to?” He asked and they both nodded. He picked up the second book of Harry Potter and started reading.
She smiled as she heard his voice, that low smooth tone reciting words from a book they all loved. The twins had conned him into reading even though it was well past their bedtime but she let it go. These little changes were good, they were bonding. Things were starting to get back to what was their normal.
She was reading his notebook when he came out of the twins room and closed the hall door. She put it away before he turned to her, not wanting him to see her reading it. He didn’t need that blatantly shoved in his face over and over again. She had to admit though, she wanted to find this Ana and kick her ass a few thousand times. He stood before her and held out his hand. Taking it he pulled her to him and swayed.
“Now, where were we?” He murmured and kissed her cheek before pressing his to hers.
“About here.” She chuckled. “They conned you you know.” She said gently.
“I know. I don’t mind as long as you don’t.” He looked at her and worried if he’d stepped over a line.
“It’s Friday, and they would have been up playing games anyway had Brendan been home.” She kissed him. “Besides it’s important to them, and you.”
“I needed it to tell you the truth. They ground me but in a different way. Kids see things so black and white, it’s refreshing.” He kissed her brow and breathed out letting all the stress of the week go with it. Liam was right, he could start a new week right now that was much better than the last.
“They do.” She let her hands wander to eventually wrap around his neck and kissed him with that mind blanking kiss.
“Fuck that turns me on.” He growled and kissed her as she chuckled wickedly.
“I know.” She breathed and kissed him again. His hands suddenly sprang to life and gripped her tightly.
His head was spinning delightfully when she let him go, that sinful mouth delivering an equally sinful kiss.
“I’ll go setup the crib in Brendan’s room.” She whispered and kissed him again. “Because I need you.”
Her look at him from under her lashes made his cock twitch and harden. Damn she could play the game. He held her to him firmly as she went to pull away and kissed her, that devastating kiss that made her whimper for him.
“I’m going to make you scream for me.” He murmured, that silky low tone making her pussy instantly wet.
“Not if I make you scream first.” She purred and nipped his bottom lip gently as he chuckled.
He watched her walk to the hall door, hips sashaying. He groaned and the look of undiluted seduction she shot over her shoulder at him had him straining in his jeans. He followed a beat later and went to pick up the sleeping toddler.
She didn’t stir as he cradled her to him. Those tiny hands subconsciously fisting in his shirt as he soothed her back. He grabbed her bear and blanket and waited until Sildie had finished.
As Gustaf settled Lily she turned off the lights and checked the front door. She stepped into her bedroom and shut the door, clicking the lock in place. He stood at the window staring out, his shoulders relaxed. She smiled and went to stand behind him.
She lay her hands on his shoulder blades and felt him relax further. She loved the feel of his strong soft body under her hands, the ripple of muscle, lean and toned after weeks of pounding the bag. Resting her head between his blades she snaked her arms around him to press her palms to his chest.
His scent, strong and calming consumed her. Those gentle hands covered hers as she pressed herself tighter to him. It had been a rough day for him and she’d let him have his thoughts a little longer before pulling him away from it again.
She’d pulled his thoughts back from where they’d wandered off to, not really thinking of anything in particular. Her scent wove around him, calmed him. He took both her hands in his and kissed them before dropping them to turn in her arms. Without a word he kissed her, that heartbreaking tenderness that spoke of love and trust.
He didn’t want anymore words tonight, just to feel her under him, the soft sounds as he made love to her. She gave herself to him, feeling his need to pleasure, to give. His fingers dipped between silk and skin to open the buttons of her blouse and watch it fall to the floor with a whisper, her suit pants pooling at her feet. His goddess in black lace standing before him. He removed her hair clip and watched the molten copper cascade down. Running his fingers through it he kissed her, that slow, mind altering kiss that left her wrecked.
He walked her back and she sat as she felt the mattress at the back of her knees. Bending low he kissed her as those slender fingers removed his shirt, peeled the belt, black denim, and briefs from his hips and released his hardening manhood. He leaned forward, hand bracing her spine as she lay down and kissed her from lips to cleavage as he knelt before her.
He lost himself to her as he kissed every inch of that silky skin. She cried out softly as he tasted her through the black lace, her hands fisting in the sheets already. He hooked her legs over his shoulders and feasted, not waiting for her brain to process what he was doing.
As his mouth claimed her clit his fingers plunged into her deeply, her taste arousing him further. Hard gentle strokes that had her hips bucking against him as she rode them. He watched her body writhe to the tune he was pulling from it.
This was all about her, the pleasure he could give her, the love he would give her. He’d hurt her this week, the past few weeks and that didn’t sit well with him. He needed to be better.
He ravaged her until she cried out, pussy clenching his fingers. He continued to bring her undone, determined to completely and pleasurably wreck her. Kissing his way up her body as her climax ebbed he slipped inside her as he claimed her mouth with his.
She was still panting from her orgasm as his mouth devoured hers, his cock buried deep. He hadn’t let her come down from the euphoric high before building her up to a new one. She wrapped her legs around his hips as the steady slow rhythm destroyed her system.
“Gustaf.” She choked as she crested so quickly it caught her off guard. He tipped her over again without hesitation. Her hands reached to caress his chest, the feel of him only adding to her euphoria.
He nipped her jaw, her neck, as he quickened his pace, the change causing that beautiful gasp and moan to escape her mouth. With his feet on the floor and body resting on his elbows his thrusts became deep and hard, her nails slightly biting into his shoulders as he took her. He felt her body under him shake with the force of each thrust, the tremble as it succumb to him.
She was delirious, that long thick shaft pistoning into her, bottoming out at every thrust, all while his hard toned body pinned her to the sheets. He hadn’t been kidding when he’d told her he was going to make her come all night long.
He tipped her over for three more mind altering orgasms before his breathing became ragged, her pussy squeezing him deliciously tighter with each one. He lost himself to her, feasting on her slender neck, finding her pulse and grazing it with his teeth, the promise of a bite. The brush of his body against hers as he pounded into her relentlessly in the pursuit of their pleasure.
“Sildie” He whispered as her entire body went taught like an over strung bow. Her orgasm slammed into her, tearing that soft scream from her throat as he bit down on the pulse at her neck. Wave after wave of ecstasy crashed through her as his own groan of pleasure mixed with hers as he came.
She took his face in her hands and kissed him sinfully.
“You can’t kiss me like that when I just fucked you.” His throaty chuckle still wicked.
“Can’t talk.” She heaved as she struggled to breathe. “No words.”
“I did warn you.” He growled and kissed her tenderly. “And I’m not done.”
“I have kids to get up for tomorrow love.” She said softly.
“You can sleep in, I can get the kids. Besides, seeing you all lawyered up today got me hard.” He kissed her seductively. “And wanting.” He kissed her again and lingered looking down at her. “It turns me on.”
He took the kiss deeper and heard her moan.
“I love it when you kiss me like that.” She said breathlessly and felt him smile against her lips.
He crawled off her to stand and held out his hand for hers. “Stand a moment.” He said and tugged her to stand with him. “You’re still wearing entirely way too much.” He whispered and kissed her like a man possessed.
She rested her hands on his chest liking the feel of the smattering of hair that caressed her fingers as his started their destructive trail. Over and under lace he teased and aroused, those lips equally seductive on her neck and throat.
My goddess.” He whispered and kissed her as he tenderly pulled her bra straps from her shoulders. “So beautiful.” He murmured as he released her heavy breasts for the confines of the lace.
He dipped his head to capture a nipple and roll it over his tongue. Her hands stroked up his neck and over his head to hold him to her as her head dropped back. While he feasted on her breast his hand trailed lightly to brush over the scrap of lace at her crotch, fingers diving between lace and skin to slowly slide them down her legs, he left the lace top stockings where they were, he had a thing for them on her lovely pins.
He kissed up her throat and claimed her mouth, she deepened it as his hands gripped her hips tightly. She let him up for air and as those dusty blue eyes met hers she bit her bottom lip. His chuckle was met with a sly smile and he kissed her tenderly, sucking her bottom lip free.
“One day love.” He warned. “But not today.” He spun her sharply and held her against his chest, her hands pinned to her hips with his. “Doesn’t mean you won’t be begging.” He growled. “Let me have you.” He said releasing her wrists and cupping her breasts, thumbs grazing over her erect nipples.
“Always.” She breathed as she gave herself to him, for him to take her how he pleased. She loved it when he was in full control, her own challenge at getting him to break, to lose that control while he was inside her.
“On your knees.” He whispered and nipped the shell of her ear gently. “I know you like it when I fuck you like this.” His tone that low rumble that sent a shiver rippling across her skin as his hand brushed up her throat to squeeze gently.
She knelt on the edge of the bed, his hand at her throat gently as he guided her. His lips devoured the nape of her neck and she could feel the power that radiated off him, she loved feeling it as he took control with a promise of such pleasure. With the hand on her throat his other tormented her as his fingers danced to an erotic tune over her skin.
She rested her head against his chest and cried out as his finger dipped between her slick folds and over her clit. “My goddess.” He whispered. “How beautiful you are when you come for me.” He tipped her over the edge into bliss and gently squeezed her throat, the feeling of her pulse thrummed under his fingers.
He guided her down to stretch her arms out above her head on the mattress, that supple body ready for him to claim. He teased her mercilessly, that one finger igniting a fire over her skin at every pass. He he trailed it along her inner thighs and spread her wide, gripped his cock in his hand he eased the tip into her heat, her cry one of pleasure.
He slowly tip fucked her until she was squirming, whimpering for him to plunge into her depths. He reached around and circled a slender finger pad over her clit as she tensed and felt her pussy grip and suck at him as she came. It was only then that he sheathed himself deep inside her as she cried out.
He set a rhythm that he could maintain for a longer time period, determined to bring his woman undone and see her completely wrecked before the end of the night. With his finger endlessly circling her clit and labia he plunged deep and hard. She climaxed over and over again until her body was shaking violently. It was then he took her hard.
She couldn’t think, barely able to catch her breath between her orgasm ebbing and another crashing through her. She let herself be taken, be pleasured, be claimed by him. The euphoria overwhelming and consuming her.
He pistoned his hips faster, pounded into her to sate his need to feel her, fuck her. Her pussy still delightfully stroking him with each orgasm until he was as lost as she was.
“Sildie.” His breathing ragged. “Come for me, take me with you.” He flicked her clit in a relentless pattern and felt her tense tighter than before. Her whimpers more desperate than before. “Scream for me.”
With her hands fisted in the sheets above her head she rocked back, his cock taking her deeper. With a scream of his name into the mattress her orgasm shattered her.
“Fuck Sildie!” He choked as he followed her. Those powerful thighs trembling as he took her fast and hard, his release almost making him black out.
They both stilled until the only sound was of their heavy panting trying to force oxygen into their lungs until her breathless giggle made him chuckle. He pulled out of her gently and lay on the bed bundling her to him rather awkwardly as his muscles didn’t seem to want to work anymore than hers did. He nuzzled her throat and eventually kissed those lips he adored.
“You know.” She said still breathing heavy. “We are going to kill each other if we keep this up.” Her grin was as wide as his.
“Totally worth it.” He huffed and kissed her again. “Sleep now love.”
“Already half way there.” She mumbled as it literally claimed her just as hard as Gustaf just had.
He smiled as he kissed her head and curled her into him. He would say those words to her, he would get Ana out of his life and his mind for good.

Saved and Loved
On Trial
Hotch x Reader
Requested: @hockeyboys101
Warnings: Canon-Typical Violence, Nightmares
—————————
You were at your kidnapper(who’s name you had learned was Sam Moorison) and had just finished testifying. Now Hotch was on the stand. After court adjourned for the day, you and the BAU were planning on going out to eat. You had started to become friends with them over the last weeks. They were really only people in your life but you didn’t know much about them yet.
****at dinner
You guys decided on Mexican and most of you had margaritas in front of you.
“So,” you said as there was a lull in the conversation “if you guys don’t mind you should tell me more about your families.”
“Well,” said Hotch, going first, “I have a son named Jack.”
“You have a son?! Can I please see pictures?”
He smiled warmly and pulled out his phone.
“He is so cute!”
“Yeah, maybe you can meet him sometime. He’s actually staying at JJ’s tonight to have a sleepover with her boys.”
You turned to JJ, “you have kids too?”
And just like that you had gotten everyone to open up about their family. You learned about Will, JJ’s boys, Sergio, Jack, Morgan’s girlfriend, Garcia’s boyfriend, and Rossi’s recently discovered daughter, Joy.
****
You had all went home that night in a good mood. Well for you home currently meant the hotel you were staying in. You got ready for bed and you were exhausted. You fell asleep quickly.
***
You woke up in a cold sweat crying. You had another nightmare and this time Sam had somehow managed to kill every member of the BAU with his fun before stabbing you.
Without thinking you grabbed your phone to call Hotch. You almost hung up before he answered when you remembered Jack but then didn’t because you realized he was at JJ’s tonight.
“Y/n is everything okay? It’s 2 am.”
“Sorry Hotch I shouldn’t have called. I’ll go.”
“No, wait. What’s wrong?”
“It’s nothing just another nightmare. This time he uh-he somehow murdered you and your team before he got to me. I know it was just a dream but, I’m sorry Aaron.”
“No, it’s okay. You should have told me you were having nightmares. Do you want me to come over?”
“You don’t need to, I’ll be fine.”
“That’s not what I asked y/n. Jack’s not home so it’s not a big deal.”
“Yeah, I do, thanks Aaron. They had me move rooms. I’m in 217 now”
“I’ll be there in 15.”
****
When Hotch got in your room he set down his stuff and embraced you. After a while he said “you know, if you don’t want to stay in the hotel any longer, you could stay with me and Jack. We have a guest room. Plus I know you’ve been trying to get out of here quickly since Rossi insisted one laying for it.”
“Thanks Aaron, if you really don’t mind I think I will.”
“Okay, then it’s settled. We can bring your stuff over to my place tomorrow. For now let’s get some sleep.”
He took the couch, ignoring your objections.
“Goodnight Aaron.”
“Goodnight y/n.”

Leo stuck to his word and ran Riley a bath when they had returned to the apartment. It seemed to calm her down. Her hand was slightly swollen, but she didn’t care- it was worth it. The friends all ordered pizza and watched a Rom-com before heading to bed.
Riley couldn’t sleep, she just kept seeing Madeleine’s smirk in her mind. She had wondered how long the case would be adjourned for. It was now 5am. Who needs sleep anyway- she thought.
She tiptoed into the kitchen, attempting to not wake the others up- caffeine was required if she was to survive the day. She saw Leo and Beth snuggled up on the sofa, holding each other. A pang of jealousy hit her- she missed Liam. How she went all these months without his soft touch, she didn’t know. He was now her drug- she wanted more every time she saw him, she felt intoxicated when around him. As she had finished making her coffee, her phone rang. She answered it quickly, whispering as she noticed her two friends stir.
“Li. Do you know what time it is?”
“Why are you whispering? And it’s 5.10am Ri. I am capable of telling the time.”
“Okay Mr intelligent. I was whispering because Leo and Beth are asleep on the sofa. Are you okay?”
“Yes, I’ve missed you. Are you okay?”
“I’d be better if I was with you... Li hold on, someone’s at the door....”
Riley tiptoed back into the living space. She didn’t know why she bothered as the knock had woken her friends up. She opened the door, immediately seeing his baby blues.
“I suppose I better hang up then...”
Riley pulled Liam in for a kiss, she was shocked but so happy to see him.
“Pack your bag Ri. You’re staying with me, no questions required. Let these lot catch up on sleep.”
******
Glen the King’s Guard junior, drove Liam and Riley to the penthouse that Liam had rented, Olivia was staying in a 5* hotel nearby- she didn’t want to play gooseberry.
“I can’t believe that you are here!”
“I couldn’t stay away any longer. You needed me no matter how much you denied it. I wanted to be here for you. And besides, I wouldn’t let you all face any more court alone after what she did.”
“You... you know?”
“I don’t know the full details- Leo wouldn’t tell me. But I know she was here, providing a fake alibi and by the look of your hand you’d have gotten into trouble if Leo and Bastien didn’t stop you.”
“Li, I’m sorry. I don’t know what came over me.”
“Ri, don’t apologise. Someone was going to do it someday. I’m extremely tired. Are you going to join me? We can have a lie in. Then I’ll take you out for breakfast, my treat.”
“What would happen if a lady refused the King?” Riley asked seductively, biting her lip.
Liam stepped closer to her and began to kiss Riley on the neck- he knew it was her ‘turn on spot’.
“I believe that the lady will get punished.”
Riley dragged the King over to the bed, before pushing him on it and straddling him. The kisses deepened as they became more passionate. They both stripped each other down to their underwear- they were both eager to touch and feel each other.
“Lay on your back, Lady Riley. You must obey your King’s order.”
*****
Two days after Liam and Olivia had arrived in New York, Leo and Riley were called back into court. In those two days all the friends did some sightseeing, ate out, generally had fun.
Liam looked at the Statue of Liberty. This place had so many memories- the first night he met Riley, the time he proposed to her. The had come full circle again and was back here.
“Li?”
Liam pulled Riley towards him, wrapping his arms around her protectively- whilst gazing on the Statue.
“I can’t believe how beautiful she still is. Not as beautiful as you though.”
“Heh. I don’t mind being in competition with a Statue. Can she fuck you like I can your Majesty? Didn’t think so.”
Riley said seductively. She needed to have a joke- she knew he would be feeling morbid being here. This is where she rejected his proposal. Guilt was still bubbling inside of her even after all this time.
“Riley don’t. You are making me want you.”
“You’ll have to wait until we get back my King.”
“Don’t tease me. I love you.”
“I love you too Li.”
The two of them held hands as they rejoined their friends.
“We are going to sit in the gallery. I’m not going to kiss you because I don’t want to make the situation any worse. But I love you Riley Brooks, always have and always will. Don’t you forget that. Good luck to you both. We will celebrate afterwards.”
Riley and Leo sat down in their seats, both panicking that the two parasites had won. Liam, Liv and the rest of the friends smiled at the two victims.
“I apologise for adjournment regarding the verdict. The jury wanted to scrutinise the new evidence that came alight from Miss Chambers. We will go through each incident that the defendant is being trialed for and the head of the jury will answer the verdict.”
Liam glanced over at Nate, Olivia was correct and he was good looking- but he was too confident-providing a look as if had won already. Liam really wanted to do to Nate what Riley had done to Madeleine. Olivia noticed him staring at Nate and held his hand for reassurance.
“They’ve got this Li.”
“I hope so Liv. I really hope so.”
****
“Do you find the defendant guilty or not guilty with the incident involving the following photos of Miss Brooks. The incidents included her passing about and being hospitalised and also the incident where Mr Cooper was accused of breaking her arm.”
Liam and Olivia gasped, it was the first time they had seen the pictures. Riley hung her head down low, Leo put his arm around her.
“GUILTY.” The judge thanked the jury before starting the next question.
“Do you find the defendant guilty or not guilty with the incident that involved Miss Brooks miscarrying her unborn baby?”
“GUILTY.”
“And finally, do find the defendant guilty or not guilty with the incident involving Mr Rhys being attacked in the Club?”
“GUILTY.”
Riley and Leo jumped out of their seats, both crying and hugging each other tightly. Riley looked to see Olivia hugging Liam. He was crying too. Olivia winked at her friend and smiled- this was unusual for the Duchess to show such an expression.
“NO WAIT! He’s not guilty, I gave you video evidence. It clearly wasn’t Nate in the video.”
“Pipe down Maddy, your plan has backfired.” - Leo snapped back at his ex fiancée.
“No wait, Leo isn’t the faithful boyfriend he keeps painting himself as. He swanned off around Europe sleeping with anything that had a pulse. And Riley, she can’t keep her knickers on either. One minute she’s sleeping with the King then she’s shacked up with his best friend! They aren’t as perfect as you all think they are... GET YOUR HANDS OFF ME!”
The judge had requested that Madeleine was removed from the room, he knew that she was a liar.
“Miss Brooks and Prince Leo, the video ‘evidence’ she had on her phone, had a time and date on it from when it was recorded. She set it up. We will let her off with a warning as she is not from this country. But any other hassle, the American law will deal with her.”
Leo hugged Riley tighter. They had done it, even with the obstruction in the way.
“Mr Cooper you have been found guilty on all accounts. The minimum sentence I can provide for you is 10 years. If you cause any hassle during your time in prison this will increase. You may take him down.”
Leo and Riley hugged their attorney, thanking her for all her work. They had won, and were ready to celebrate with their friends. Liam ran to Riley picked her up and spun her around. He couldn’t stop kissing her, he knew how hard it was for both her and Leo but he was incredibly proud of how strong the two of them had been.
“Ri, I love you. This is where our future begins. Leave the past behind us and start a fresh....”
