Flowers of Liurnia, Far From Home
Or, the Tarnished goes on a photography trip throughout the Lands Between, and all for one specific flower of royal Carian blue.
This small blue flower grows plentifully in groups, on dry land or in shallow water. Whilst found extensively in Liurnia, there are small patches of found growing in other regions as well. I've noticed that they are found near exclusively in or near places associated with sorcery, with a couple exceptions.
These flowers are scarcely found in the Shadows Lands, except for two places, the Cerulean coast, where they glow with almost magical effect, and the Manus Metyr cathedral.
This got a little long so more under the cut:
All throughout the Liurnia region, the player will ride and fight through countless patches of the blue flowers in question. Both within and without the Carian Manor and the Three Sisters grounds:
in the gardens of the Academy of Raya Lucaria:
outside the Carian Study Hall, glowing vibrantly as those in the Cerulean Coast in the Shadow Lands do:
the Church of Vows, but curiously only specifically inside the church, not outside. The blue and gold flowers together likely signify the bond once made here by the Houses of the Moon and Erdtree, by Rennala and Radagon:
Outwith Liurnia, these flowers can be found in Limgrave with their red counterparts, on the road south leading to the Weeping Peninsula:
In Caelid, there is no surprise they are found growing in the Sellia town of magic, suggesting a hardiness to these flowers to be able to resist the rot:
but also in the Caelid region they can be found surrounding Lenne's Rise:
I have found the flowers in two spots so far in the Altus Plateau Leyndell region, in a shallow pool of water between the windmill pastures, close to where a lone battlemage stands watch on the rocks above;
and in the outer moat, where you fight the Dung Eater and where the death-touched (coughGodwyncough) shell crabs live:
I've yet to find in the flowers are in the Mt. Gelmir region, but it is a volcano so I doubt there would be many flowers growing there. Still, I'll check in the future.
Even in the Consecrated Snowfields there are flowers to find. Whether they are actually blue flowers just covered with frost, or white flowers with a slight blue tinge, it is difficult to discern, but evenso. I'll let you be the judge of them:
Now, about those flowers in the Shadow Lands. My search is ongoing, but obviously they are found in vast glowing quantities in the Cerulean Coast, giving the region its name. They grow in such quantities that they are likely native to the area, and merely only happen to share the appearance of their Liurnian counterparts.
The non-glowing flowers can also be found in the Cathedral of Manus Metyr. In the tortoise ponds at the back:
And very specifically, growing around the grave of Yuri, son of Ymir:
So what's the point of this long flowery post? We know Ymir was once a mentor of Princess Rellana of the Carian royal family. Likely he came to the Shadow Lands as part of her entourage, either as a Carian himself or an independant researcher, we don't know when exactly he left his allegiance to the moon.
As Rellana's mentor, he would have had access to the Carian Manor, home of the royal family, and the Study Hall as well. As a learned sorcerer, he would have spent much time at the academy too. He would have likely spent much time in any one or all of these places, and travelling between the three. As an observant man he would of course have taken note of the plentiful, beautiful, blue flowers.
I like to believe that before he was sent or decided to go to the Shadow Lands, he took some of the flowers of Liurnia with him as a keepsake, and after all in the Shadow Lands were abandoned and forbidden by Marika from ever returning to the Lands Between, they were one of the few pieces of his homeland he managed to take with him. (I highly doubt those who left for holy war in the Shadow Lands knew that Marika would abandon them there. Would they honestly go if they knew?)
The flowers in the cemetery are well cared for. They and the grass around them are lively and with colour, the foliage around them the same drab lifeless colour as plantlife in lands touched by the war.
We don't know for certain if Yuri was always just a fingercreeper or once a human boy who passed away before the events of the DLC. Nevertheless Ymir loved him enough to surround him to with the flowers of Liurnia, of magic and sorcerers, of their homeland. A small patch of beauty amongst the bleakness of the land.
#something something 'although i an no longer carian and we may never see our homeland again#in this land ravaged by war touched by death abandoned by god#i love you enough to surround you with the colours of our home and our people and of better times'#screencaps#long post#count ymir#elden ring#shadow of the erdtree#no i havent made myself sad shut up#theory post#proton thinks too deeply about tertiary game assets

Return to the festive light trail
If there’s one thing that’s hard to escape from at Christmas it’s the lights. From shop windows and high streets to our own Christmas trees, we simply can’t ignore the multitude of colours glaring into the atmosphere. It’s also the reason why Christmas is one of my favourite times of year for photography; depending on what you’re capturing, most camera techniques work to translate a set of lights into sensational photographs including close ups, out of focus blurs and even birds eye views. For the past couple of years, one particular festive attraction has been a gold mine for light photography and I set out once again to snap into the holiday spirit - see what I did there?
Walmer Castle, residing on the south east coast of England, is home to some of the most enchanting gardens, woodlands and wildlife. For the past few years, these have been further enhanced by the festive light trail that lights up every inch of castle grounds in every shade of luscious light. Unfortunately, the set route meant I couldn’t get many close up shots, but that didn’t stop me experimenting with composition - where objects are positioned in the photo. The woodland trees were an obvious choice due to the entwining branches of colour and plenty of room (quite literally) for all the camera angles I wanted. As much as I was mainly on the trail to enjoy the festivities, it was interesting to see what was new this year or what I wished had returned from the last. Despite the restrictions on some castle grounds, having a plan B still resulted in some unique photos along with memories that will last forever.

Photographing Indian Weddings on the Gold Coast: Preserving Memories
Indian weddings are renowned for their colourful customs, poignant moments, and lavish, multi-day events. In order to properly capture these momentous occasions on the Gold Coast, you want a photographer who is familiar with the subtleties of the many ethnic rites and the individual elements that define each wedding. Indian wedding photography on the Gold Coast gives couples the chance to capture the magic of their big day in classic pictures that vividly depict their love story.
Recognising the Cultural Diversity of Indian Marriage Indian weddings are a celebration of love, family, and deeply ingrained customs—much more than just the joining of two individuals. A Gold Coast wedding photographer that specialises in Indian weddings understands the importance of capturing the spirit of these ceremonies and rituals with accuracy. Every aspect is expertly captured by the photographer, from the vivid hues of the Mehndi ceremony to the emotional moments of the wedding day.
Photographing Indian Weddings: The Importance of Experience The depth and richness of an Indian wedding call for a photographer with expertise and skill. An expert photographer with years of experience shooting weddings understands when to anticipate the important moments to make sure nothing is missed. Every picture captures an aspect of the couple's love story, from the touching vows to the passionate toasts during the reception. Professional photographers are able to capture the day with the sensitivity and care it requires because they are aware of the fast-paced nature of these weddings and the importance of the many ethnic customs.
Bringing Together Videography and Photography for a Complete Experience Videography offers another level of narrative, even though photography is still vital for capturing still moments. A skilfully crafted wedding film may transport couples back to their special day by encapsulating the sounds, sights, and feelings that still can't be captured in still images. Videography enhances photography during Indian weddings, which are known for their intricate customs and colourful celebrations, making sure that no special moment is missed. Couples may relive the happy noises of the celebration and the delicate moments from their special day thanks to the combination of both, which makes for a more immersive experience.
A Gorgeous Setting for Indian Weddings: The Gold Coast Gorgeous beaches, verdant gardens, and a range of picturesque locations can be found in the Gold Coast wedding scene, providing excellent opportunities for wedding photography. The Gold Coast offers the ideal backdrop for formal and informal wedding photos, whether you're planning a coastal party or a traditional inside ceremony. This area's gorgeous scenery makes for a wonderful backdrop that accentuates the beauty of your wedding and guarantees that your wedding images capture the spirit of the day as well as the natural surroundings.
Recording the Emotional Trip The newlyweds, their families, and their friends encounter profound emotions during an Indian wedding, which goes beyond simple customs. An experienced photographer knows how to catch these moments unscripted, making sure that every hug, grin, and tear is captured in a way that conveys the day's emotional journey. These images, which capture both the big moments and the little, tender exchanges throughout the day, will act as a permanent memento of the couple's love tale.
Why Choosing the Right Photographer Matters
Choosing the right wedding photographer can make all the difference when it comes to how you remember your wedding. A professional who specializes in Indian wedding photography on the Gold Coast brings both cultural knowledge and technical skill to the table. They understand the flow of Indian weddings, the importance of timing, and the need to capture both posed and candid moments. By hiring a photographer with this level of expertise, you ensure that your wedding day is preserved in a way that is meaningful and reflects the joy and significance of the event.
In conclusion, Indian Wedding Photography Gold Coast is more than just capturing images—it's about documenting a once-in-a-lifetime event that celebrates love, culture, and tradition. With a skilled photographer, every moment of your special day will be preserved in stunning detail, ensuring that your memories last a lifetime.

Wedding Photography, Videography and Bridal Hair Styling & Makeup Service to a British-Hong Kong Couple in Liverpool, England
We have provided wedding photography, videography and bridal hair styling & mother of the bride makeup and hair styling service to a family-oriented British-Hong Kong couple in Liverpool.
This is a wedding with a mixture of Western civil ceremony and modernised Chinese traditions. We have provided nearly 13 hours service. Firstly, we started our hair styling and makeup process in the early morning when the bride, her bridesmaids, mother and close family friends stayed in the penthouse of an apartment building.
After that, we started photography and videography service for the door game session. It was fun, but also touching, especially when the groom telling his bride how much he loves her. It was not very easy to capture the door game, as it started in a narrow corridor.
During the door game, all other relatives came to the building to witness the Chinese tea ceremony and celebrate the family. Many of the relatives gave the couple golds and red packet of money as a gesture of good will and prosperity.
The bride then changed into her white wedding attire in the bridal room in Royal Liver Building, where the ceremony took place. It locates near the coast with beautiful view of Liverpool. Such an iconic tall building with big windows, that made us imagine we were in one of the Batman movies.
During ceremony, the groom cried a lot, and his wife also joined to him because of the emotional atmosphere there. We also took very romantic couple shoots at the Royal Liver Building balcony and lobby after their ceremony is done.
Lastly, we went to Chung Ku Liverpool Restaurant to do their banquet photo and video shoot. The bride's father and brother was in Manchester Lion Dance team. It was the first time we witness the family gave such a beautiful performance for the newlywed. Before the banquet started, the family and professional dancers did the traditional Chinese Lion Dance in different sets of props. The whole process last nearly 1 hour.
Chung Ku is a huge Chinese restaurant with 2 floors near the sea. The whole 2 floors were full with around 200 guests. The food was superb. The couple told us this restaurant is the best one around the area with fresh sea food. The guests were so impressed with the banquet.
In between the Lion Dances the beautiful bride has also changed her wedding dress into red Qipao again. We changed her hair style again and helped the change again when she changed into evening dress. It is a traditional for brides and her family to change into multiple gowns. Traditionally, Chinese brides have to wear 5 gowns on her wedding day. It was a symbol of luck.
This couple loves to join couple contest. On their special day, they have prepared a special dance performance as their first dance too. After the banquet, speeches from the two fathers and couple, all the toasts and cheers, also cake cutting, the most exciting part of the night came. The couple has sent us a video of their rehearsal before their wedding. They did the dance quite nicely with some romantic and fun actions. We did enjoy watching it again and again during our video editing process.
So the day has finished with the party, and the guests took boxes of take away of the wedding cake pieces and left over from the banquet. It is important not to have food waste, and no one wants to waste these delicious food. The bride sent us a message the next day, saying our organisation was very good. We think they did plan very well and paid attention to details. We wish them all the best and a happy married life ever-after.
Feel free to take a look at their photos, highlight and feature videos on our Facebook page, website and Youtube & Vimeo channels.
Thank you

Book One: Gold (Prompto x Reader) Chapter I
A/n: This series is inspired by my oneshots, "Mythological Mayhem," (Can be found on my Wattpad) which is also why it will have the same name. You won't be able to choose your eye color in this series since they'll correspond with what gem/mineral each book represents. I hope you all enjoy! Love you all!!! •••••••••••••••••••••
"You can't keep me hidden forever, Prompto."
(Y/n)'s words rang inside Prompto's head as he stared up at the dark ceiling of the caravan. It had been only two days since he, Noctis, Gladio, and Ignis left Insomnia to head to Altissia for the prince's marriage to the Oracle. They were currently resting in Hammerhead, waiting for the Regalia to be repaired so they could head to Galdin Quay.
Lifting his arm, Prompto stared at the bracelet located on his right wrist. In the center stood a lone golden fragment that resembled a gemstone. Even in the darkness, a faint light radiated from it. With his left hand, he traced his index finger over the golden fragment as he continued to listen to (Y/n)'s words on repeat.
He couldn't sleep, wishing to see the girl he had come to cherish so deeply after the many years they'd spent together. The (h/c)-haired guardian has been with him ever since he could recall his earliest memories of his life. He could feel his strong, unwavering bond with (Y/n) and couldn't help but smile.
Prompto, to (Y/n)'s dismay, had kept her a secret their entire lives. No one except for him knew of her existence, not even his adoptive family or Noctis. Although she was residing in the gemstone whenever he left to go anywhere with his friends, he was saddened because she wasn't physically with him. He couldn't bear to be apart from her, not even for a simple stroll.
These past two days have been torture since he didn't wish to reveal the guardian to his companions. It wasn't because he didn't trust them, but he didn't want to be bombarded by tons of questions he wouldn't have the answers to or for (Y/n) to feel like an outcast.
A few minutes passed and Prompto debated whether to leave the caravan for a little while to see (Y/n). Unfortunately, he didn't realize what time it was until he saw Ignis was gone. The advisor was always the first to wake, his ebony coffee being the main reason why he was able to rise at such early hours of the morning and trudge through the day with no signs of exhaustion. He truly desires to have the stamina Ignis possessed after drinking a single cup of coffee.
Prompto lowered his arm with a sigh, nestling his head back into the pillow. He closed his eyes and tried to get a few more minutes of sleep, but his bustling mind kept him from finding peace.
With a groan, he dragged his body out of bed and grabbed his camera. He left the caravan and greeted Ignis before making up an excuse so he could get some alone time with (Y/n) without him or the others seeing her. He told the tactician how he wanted to take a few pictures of the rising sun and quickly excused himself to find a secluded location.
The moment Ignis turned his back, Prompto made a mad dash toward the garage. He headed around the side and took cover behind the garage. Looking around, the blonde made sure the coast was clear before summoning (Y/n). He whispered her name, the gold gemstone located on his bracelet pulsating with a warm glow.
Once the gemstone's radiance disappeared, a girl with (h/c) locks and gold-slitted eyes appeared in front of him. She combed a few stray locks out of her face and behind her ear with a sigh. "You know this would be easier if the others knew about me, Prom. I could also help you guys fight. And that gemstone is rather uncomfortable..."
"The guys would freak out if they saw your, y'know...real form!" Prompto argued. "I mean, I haven't even seen it yet! I've only read about the possibilities..."
(Y/n) sighed, crossing her arms. "If you're afraid of them attacking me, explain to them what I am! I'm sure they know about spirits. All humans should! We're not fictional characters in a fairytale. There's actual texts that explain who and what we are. If we continue to hide this from them, our time apart will only grow until after we return to Insomnia." She turned her back to him and stared up at the vast, colorful sky. The sun was rising and the sky was being painted with an array of shades of orange, red, and yellow. "After all the years we've spent together, I guess you've finally grown tired of me. I'm not surprised, really. To be honest, I'm not the easiest person to live with and I sometimes can be really annoying. I mean, you've-"
Two arms wrapped around her body, silencing her. She tensed up slightly when feeling her back flush against his body. A small gasp slipped from her lips when she felt Prompto nuzzle his face into the crook of her neck. His warm breath grazed her skin, causing her body to shudder. His blonde locks tickled the side of her face as his arms tightened around her. In her left ear, she heard him whisper, "I'm not tired of you, (Y/n). I could never get tired of you. You've been with me since the beginning and...and I can't believe you haven't left yet. I never thought someone like you would still wanna hang around a loser like me even now..."
(Y/n) pried his arms off her and turned around to face him. Cupping his cheeks in her palms, she stared into his cerulean eyes. "Even if I wasn't your guardian, I know we were destined to find one another. If I was human, maybe we could...never mind."
"Tell me," Prompto begged, gazing into her glistening golden eyes.
She shook her head with another sigh. "Sorry, it's nothing. I'm letting my imagination run wild again."
All of a sudden, she heard footsteps and acted quickly. Her body vanished, returning to the gemstone in Prompto's bracelet. The blonde also heard the footsteps and promptly picked up his camera, acting like he was taking pictures of the surrounding area.
Ignis walked around the corner, his emerald eyes analyzing the photographer. "Is everything all right, Prompto?"
"Uh, y-yeah!" The marksman's voice cracked, afraid his friend had overheard his conversation with (Y/n). "Just takin' some pics of the scenery!"
The strategist's eyes ventured over to the camera in the younger boy's grasp. "You are mindful of the lens cap, are you not?"
Prompto looked down at his camera and chuckled nervously as he removed the lens cap. "I-I knew it was on..."
"Of course," Ignis replied. The advisor detected the blonde's strange behavior and was able to see through his lie with ease. However, he simply spun on his heels and left his companion without questioning him.
The shutterbug sighed in relief when Ignis left. "That was too close..."
"I'll say," (Y/n) said as she reappeared beside him. "You're a terrible liar. Always have been."
"H-Hey, I tried my best."
"I know, but..." The golden-eyed girl looked around at the desert-like landscape. "You realize this isn't a scenic view, right? It's nothing but dirt, rocks, and a few plants scattered about. I'm pretty sure I saw a tumbleweed earlier, too."
"As an avid photographer, it's my job to capture everything," Prompto replied. "Even the ugly parts."
(Y/n) glanced at the boy from the corner of her eye. "A photographer captures the beauty in everything. Even the ugliest parts of this world have beauty hidden somewhere. I'm sure you can turn this desolate landscape into something beautiful. Just make sure you get some breakfast before becoming lost in your photography. Your stomach's growling."
Prompto, having been distracted, finally felt and heard his stomach grumble. A rosy hue dusted across his face, embarrassed at how obnoxious his stomach sounded. "I'll grab a bite at Takka's. What about you?"
"What about me?" (Y/n) replied with her own question.
"You haven't eaten since we left the city. You should come with me! If the guys see us, we can just pretend we're strangers who decided to share a meal together."
She smiled reassuringly at him. "I'll be fine, Prom. I can go a couple more days without eating." She bumped her hip against his, nudging him forward. "Now go get something to eat."
Prompto knew how stubborn the girl was. He didn't stand a chance against her and hung his head with a sigh. "Okay..."
<-----------<<<<<
A couple days later, the royal retinue arrived at Longwythe Rest Area after the Regalia was repaired. They delivered a package as per requested by Cindy and received a visit from Umbra. Seeing as the day was turning to night, the boys headed over to the Crow's Nest Diner to enjoy a quick dinner before checking in at the motel across the street.
Around ten o'clock, Prompto realized the others were all asleep and quietly made his way out of the room. With the spare gil he received from Ignis after their successful hunt yesterday, he headed back over to the Crow's Nest and stood outside the entrance. He summoned (Y/n), who appeared in front of him in mere seconds.
Turning her head, the spirit hummed in curiosity as she peered over her shoulder at the small diner. "The Crow's Nest? What're we doing here?"
"You're hungry, right?" Prompto asked. "It's been four days since you've ate anything so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for you to get a bite to eat. With the guys asleep, it'll also give us some alone time."
"All right, but it's getting late. As much as I would love chatting with you for hours upon end, you'll need to get some sleep. Once I'm done eating, you're heading straight to bed."
"Deal."
Prompto and (Y/n) entered the diner, taking a seat at one of the booths. The man behind the counter walked over and took their order. The blonde asked for a simple glass of water while the girl ordered the salmon with a soda. As they waited for their order, the two chatted nonstop.
A few minutes ticked by and their order arrived. (Y/n) enjoyed every bite of her salmon, listening to Prompto as he shared what she had missed during her time slumbering in the gemstone. She clung to every word even after finishing her meal.
By the time midnight rolled around, the (h/c)-haired girl's eyes widen in shock. "I lost track of time!" She scurried out of the booth after Prompto paid. "You need to get some sleep. We'll be heading to Galdin Quay tomorrow and I wouldn't want to be the reason why you lost sleep."
"I know," Prompto sighed dejectedly. "I just...really wanted to spend some time with you."
She smiled at him. "Prom, we've been by each other's side for a very long time. Besides, I'm not going anywhere. Now go back to bed so you have enough energy for tomorrow. I'm really excited for Galdin Quay! I've always wanted to visit the ocean. I'd love to relax on the beach."
"Me too!" Prompto chanted excitedly. "I can't wait to take so many pictures!"
"All the more reason you should get some rest," she remarks.
He nodded. "Yeah. 'Night, (Y/n)."
Her smile blossomed. "Goodnight, Prom." Her body vanished, returning to the golden gemstone.
Prompto rushes back to the room and crawls into bed. He closed his eyes, delving into the world of dreams.
Almost two hours later, Prompto was startled awake by a nightmare. A cold sweat consumed his body as he flew up into a sitting position. Trailing his hand across his forehead, he wiped off the small sweat droplets before climbing out of bed and slipping his boots on. Leaving the room, he headed up to the roof to clear his head.
On the rooftop, Prompto sat down and let the cool breeze dry his body, calm his racing heart, and clear his head. He stared across the street, noticing the Crow's Nest was still open. He watched as a couple of hunters pulled into Longwythe Rest Area in a truck and parked just outside the diner. Once they entered the eatery, the blonde looked away with a heavy sigh. With his attention no longer focused on anything, the images from the nightmare filled his mind.
"Bad dream?"
Prompto turned his head and saw (Y/n) standing a few feet away. "Yeah," he replied halfheartedly.
"What was it about?" She pried.
"Noct, Gladio, Iggy, and I were facing off against a horde of daemons. I kept getting in the way and then...they abandoned me." The boy stared down at his hands as he clasped them tightly together. "Am I...worthless?"
(Y/n) clutched her hands behind her back as she focused her attention on the daemons prowling the darkness just beyond the rest area. "You're not worthless, Prom. Everyone is unique in different ways. You may not possess the strength of your friends, but you have your own special abilities that make up for their weaknesses." She hopped on to the ledge of the roof, walking down the narrow strip of concrete. "A team is like a puzzle. If one piece is missing, it's incomplete."
"H-Hey, be careful," Prompto muttered nervously as he felt his anxiety skyrocket just by watching her walk along the edge of the roof.
The guardian continued walking until she reached the end of the ledge. She stared down at the asphalt below. "You may think you're worthless, but in reality you aren't. You might not see it, but the others and I do. You've convinced yourself you are worthless and that's why you dream of such horrific scenarios." Turning around, she stared into his cerulean eyes with her golden ones. "No one is perfect. We all have our flaws. They may appear perfect in your eyes, but that's because your combined strength is able to hide them."
"But you're perfect," Prompto unconsciously said.
She smirked at him. "If I'm perfect, so are you. After all, I am a fragment of your soul."
The blonde's eyes widen at her words. Even though he's known the girl all his life, not once has he heard the real story about guardians. "What do you mean, (Y/n)?"
Hopping off the ledge, the (h/c)-haired girl walked over and sat beside him. She hung her legs off the roof, swinging them back and forth. "The fairytales about guardians are false. We're not almighty beings sent from the heavens by the Astrals to watch over the people of Eos. Guardians are spiritual beings manifested from a fragment of a person's soul. Our duty as a guardian is to protect the very soul that created us. Not everyone possesses the power to forge a guardian, though. Very few humans do, and you're one of them, Prompto. When a human does shape a guardian, we take the form of their choice. My appearance is a result of your cognition."
"So, the reason you look like this is...?"
"I've taken the form of your deepest desire. I must say," (Y/n) examined her appearance and grinned. "I look pretty good. At least you didn't make me look like a chocobo. I don't know what I'd do if I was a yellow bird."
Prompto's cheeks ignited a deep crimson and he immediately looked everywhere but at her. He couldn't remember a single time when his imagination created a strong, intelligent, beautiful person. He cleared his throat, eyes still darting around to avoid her gaze. "U-Um..." The boy's mind was blank as he tried to think of a response, but not even a single word came to mind.
(Y/n) realized this and smiled. "I know this is the first time we've really talked about spirits, but I hope I was able to explain it clearly. If not, we can always search for actual text. There are many documented existences of spirits and books that have been published."
Prompto found his voice and said, "I never really asked because, well...I kinda forgot you were a guardian."
"You treat me like a normal person," she stated. "Which I'm grateful for, even though I'm not human."
"You look like a normal girl to me," he answered honestly, finally being able to look at her.
"Yeah, well, your cognition thought of a normal girl."
"Does that mean if my deepest desire was a chocobo, you really would've been one?" He asked, eyes gleaming with excitement.
"No, I was just messing with you. A guardian's human form is based on their master's deepest desire, but it has to take the form of a human. All spirits have a human form and a true form. Alas, our master doesn't determine our true form."
"Y'know, I've never seen your true form," Prompto commented. "Is it scary?"
"Um, well..." (Y/n)'s voice trailed off. She watched the two hunters from earlier depart the Crow's Nest and drive away in their truck. "I...want to say no, but it might frighten you. But trust me, Prom, I would never hurt you or the others."
"I know," he smiled gently. "Now I'm really curious what your true form is! Is it a chocobo?"
The spirit giggled, nudging her elbow into his side. "Don't get too excited. And no, it's not. Guess you'll just have to wait."
The blonde released a dramatic groan as he hung his head. "Aw, man...!"

╰ ( florence pugh. cisfemale. she/her. ) welcome back to hogwarts, ALICE FORTESCUE ! you’re a SEVENTH year from GRYFFINDOR, right ? i’ve got your school file right here. it says you’re a TWENTY THREE year old PUREBLOOD, is that correct ? this file even has a personality entry, saying you’re ALTRUISTIC & STEADFAST as well as DOMINEERING & WELL-MEANING. is that why you’ve chosen to JOIN THE ORDER ? would you look at that ! it says here other students also describe you as : laughing so hard your stomach aches, the warmth of a palm pressed against your own, bandaids over day old scratches, a backbone like steel and leaving a faint smell of bubblegum wherever you go. how interesting. oh well, see you in class !
Gryffindor, Seventh yr. Former Sacred 28-er turned ice cream makers daughter, now Head Girl with a heart (mostly) of gold. Duelling Club professional, Herbology club afficionado and Seeker on the Quidditch team with a Snitch tattooed behind her left ear.
Was born a Fawley, the last of her line, the daughter of Andromache Travers, betrothed to Antioch Fawley, the only surviving son of the once great Fawley family. Her childhood was a happy one, though one that was still filled with the indoctrination of purist society, and she grew up unaware that the views her parents were raising her with weren’t the norm.
Her mother died when she was eight - vanishing sickness took hold quickly, but Dragonpox was what took her. Her father when she was ten - he hadn’t needed to work, he’d been left a fortune by family members who died too soon, but he decided to work anyway, and was caught in a collapsing Egyptian tomb.
She was more or less adopted that same summer by Hugo Fortescue, a family friend who had been widowed in the same explosion that took Antioch (and, yes, her father was named after that Antioch. The Peverell one.)
Suddenly she lost almost everything she had ever known. Yes, Hugo was a pureblood, though not a member of the Sacred 28 owing to him having immigrated from France only a few years earlier to be with his wife, but he was by no means wealthy. Or, perhaps, he was a lot more frugal than Alice was used to her family being.
Gone were the parties and little excursions to her friends houses, the fancy dresses and lessons on etiquette and what to expect from the Black’s and the Lestrange’s and the Rosier’s and Yaxley’s and Shacklebolt’s, the echoing halls of her manor of a home and the cold reality that while her parents loved her, they did not always treat her as such.
Living with Hugo - and her now adoptive older brother, Florean - was a learning curve that she hadn’t ever anticipated. She was suddenly faced with the reality that everything her parents had drilled into her, all of it was a lie. None of it was true. The innate kindness they’d tried to force out of her, the natural love of humanity and awe of muggles that they’d tried to burn out of her, that was true. What wasn’t was the lesson that they were superior that they had drilled into her head, that had been why she felt so out of place here, because their blood was pure.
She didn’t want to admit it, not then, but her childhood was tainted. It’s something she struggled with for a long time, hell, even now she struggles with it - that, really, she isn’t a Fortescue, even though that’s the name she totes, the name she is more than proud of - that her family, her blood, were people who hated anyone that was different.
For all intents and purposes, Hugo and Florean were more like family than her parents ever were. They made time for her - Florean, even then, was her overprotective big brother - the one that would take a jinx to the chest for her, the one that would torment anyone who hurt her, the one who would wake up too early to learn how to braid her hair because Hugo was always too busy to do it.
Despite all the unlearning she did - and still is doing, believe me, she knows she isn’t perfect, but she’s angrier than ever and learning more and more each day - she still remained close with several of her childhood friends. They’d come visit her in the ice cream parlour, and she’d sneak them a scoop or two before abandoning her post to run around Diagon Alley with her.
That started to change as she grew - as she became a teenager, and suddenly she was listening to muggle music, and watching muggle tv shows, following Florean out into muggle London for the first time, but certainly not the last. She started to lose friends when they couldn’t understand why she was abandoning them, when to her, she wasn’t. They were so important to her, some still are today, even if she isn’t proud of that, proud of being friends with people on both sides.
When she got her letter to Hogwarts, a couple of years after being allowed her own wand - under Hugo’s strict supervision (okay, so it wasn’t necessarily always strict, but he said it was to anyone who dared ask him why she could sometimes be found waving her wand in the middle of the ice cream parlour in the middle of Diagon Alley), she knew exactly where she was meant to be.
She’d already gone through a “phase” of getting into skirmishes with people who, in her eyes, didn’t know how to treat people with respect. It’s something that’s definitely mellowed, though that instinct, that protective flare still hasn’t faded, not even now. It was obvious to any of the people who knew her, who knew her as a Fortescue, that she was going to be sorted into Gryffindor - nobody was less surprised than Alice when it barely took a second before she was swept off her feet.
Her fascination with muggle music and love of art only grew at Hogwarts - her natural ability with plants made certain Alice always found a home in the Greenhouses, and her wand’s natural inclining to defensive magic made it easy to thrive in Defence Against the Dark Arts.
Trying out for Quidditch is a no brainer - she’s not so graceful on her feet on the ground, more often than not tripping and skinning her knees, Drooble’s gum bubble popped as she goes, but on a broom? She knows how to be graceful there, in the air, not quite so high as to be above the clouds, but high enough to be above their heads. She’s not meant to be trying out for the Seeker position - she thought maybe Chaser, or Beater, but Seeker was where she found herself, and where she’s stayed ever since.
Now she’s in her last year, she’s found that so much has changed. The world is on the verge of war, and Alice knows she’ll end up fighting - she wants to be an Auror, she has done since she was fifteen and met one in the ice cream parlour, looking for a lead. She just doesn’t know how far this will go - how far she’ll let herself go, how far they’ll all let themselves go. She only knows that she won’t ever back down.
