I got to read Overtime by Mari Loyal as an ARC so I will post my review down below! It is a closed-door college sports romance featuring a Tall, Dark and Handsome Latino MMC and an Adorably Awkward plus-size beauty FMC! Read below for my full review!

I received an ARC of this book but this review is entirely voluntary.

I absolutely adored this book even more than the first (and I loved the first). Our FMC is an awkward/adorable plus-size epitome of sunshine, and our MMC is a ginormous Latino heart-of-gold/silent-type grumpy. He needs a secret tutor, and she needs help writing her very own hockey romance. Shenanigans thus ensue!

I am once again blown away by the writing from this author for this to only be her second book. It's funny, heartwarming, angsty, and there is such a unique flow to the writing style to keeps you wanting more. Even on my second read, I couldn't find many, if any, typos whatsoever so this is professionally edited.

The banter between the characters had me cackling at 3am because obviously I couldn't put it down. The way their relationship transforms is so beautiful and touching.

I believe there are some minor trigger warnings at the start of the book but just in case: There are some fatphobic remarks to the FMC from side characters that are intended to be malicious to help establish other character relationships (friends, enemies, that kind of thing), and NEVER from our MMC. There is a strained Mother/Daughter relationship, and PCOS representation. This ends in an HEA of course, and everything is resolved beautifully. This is a closed-door romance, so nothing explicit, but there is some innuendo and sensuality.

Again, I had an absolute blast reading this, and cannot wait to get the last in the trilogy! If you love a good college sports romance, give this a try!
