praying for a blessed holy week, for those who celebrate.

the start of holy week is always a really beautiful experience for me, starting with good time with friends a lovely sunny day this week. i attended palm sunday mass a day early because my parish's filipino mass takes place on saturday, and it happened to coincide with the saturday vigil of palm sunday. looking forward to spending every night in the church from thursday onwards.

academically, it's been rough. biochem midterm on tuesday (but then i'll be good for a couple of weeks!). in addition to a prayer-filled weekend, my lab is having a lab outing to the horticultural gardens on friday, and i am so looking forward to spending time outside with a good group of people (and getting paid for it).

i've been working pretty nonstop since 2pm (it's currently 1am). my hand is cramping. i am so exhausted. but i love the work that i'm doing. powering through this busy first half of the week and looking forward to a spring cleaning/reflection for the rest of the week.

feeling blessed and feeling energized. praying/manifesting for this energy for the rest of the week.

powered through monday, and by powered through, i mean stayed in the library until 6 in the morning. productivity is taking a hit this week, but my therapist has kindly reminded me that it doesn't mean something is wrong with me; i'm still struggling with traumatic events from the past year.

it's really lovely having almost everyone back in the lab again after a series of overlapping illnesses and family emergencies. came back from my one-on-one meeting with my PI to find all the grad students freaking out about their presentations for their class in fifteen minutes. they left, and me and the other undergraduates proceeded to have our own freakouts about our midterms (i share biochem with one and orgo with the other undergrad). research updates are definitely not going to go well since it seems academics is wiping out everyone. i will be starting a new project in the lab on thursday after my orgo midterm though! i am super excited about it since my past/current project has been ravaged with unexpected setbacks, and i am excited to start anew with something else and gain new skills.

in other news: i am working on onboarding for my new pids lab this summer and reached out to another lab to apply for a public health research internship this summer. hopeful to continue my streak of balancing two internships this summer. also, my lease application got approved! so i will be signing on my first ever lease very soon.

Day Twenty-Nine: & Juliet

So the slime tutorial for this one was super interesting- they used audio from the cast recording for the songs, and also switched between some pro-shot videos as well! I could tell whoever had made this version had put a lot of effort into it <3

The only problem was the fact that there was no part two for act two, so I had to watch an audio recording from the Australia cast. Still worked out though, I feel like I got a good idea on what it was about lolol

Other than that minor setback, this one was super cute, and just another girly-pop one! I found this pretty similar to Once Upon a One More Time from a couple days ago- both just these women empowerment concepts!!

All the songs are just really fun in this one, being a jukebox musical and everything! I lovee Oops I did it Again and Conident soso much!!

I'm really glad this one has a Cast Recording, still recovering over the heartbreak for not having one for OUAOMT
