It's so cool to see CRK getting popular again, it feels so refreshing like so much new quality fan content dropping that we couldn't even DREAM about a couple of months ago, but it hurts my very soul seeing new players being interested in beast x ancient ships, in their dynamics, asking is it okay to ship it and getting slapped in the face with another "IT'S ABUSER X VICTIM IT'S A PROSHIP IT'S A DARKSHIP" (which is just not true) killing off all the fun, bc apparently enemies to lovers, AUs and what-ifs doesn't exist anymore and everything that isn't pure fluff is illegal now. "IT'S NOT ENEMIES TO LOVERS, BEASTS ABUSED AND TORTURED THEM" yeah THAT'S WHAT ENEMIES DO??? What else do you expect from a villain honestly??? Like in ANY media??? Beasts still got their ass beat in the end as they totally deserve BECAUSE ANCIENTS ARE NOT SOFT INNOCENT SMALL BABIES THAT NEED TO BE PROTECTED, they're grown ass IMMORTAL ADULTS with huge responsibilities, they rule kingdoms, they hold a huge power in their hands, they're imperfect and not innocent. They can stand for themselves, they can fight, they can destroy, they can lie and they WILL if they need to.
I can SMELL that a shit tonne of people in this fandom secretly enjoys beast x ancient as a guilty pleasure, a forbidden fruit, but they will never admit it just because they're afraid of being harassed and bullied and it's just sad how normalized it is to hurt actual people over shipping some mobile game characters, who are adults, doesn't have power imbalance between them and aren't related.
And allat coming from ME, who doesn't ship a single beast x ancient ship
It's sad lol. Sad for the Beast x Ancient community and honestly kind of pathetic for ardent detractors at this point. I've seen sooooo many Beast x Ancient fans get harassed and even sent death threats, it's not even funny (not that it ever was in the first place). Don't you have better things to do than get this mad about video games lol. Like a job or school or a hobby or something
You're right, the Ancients are not helpless widdle babies and I'm kind of sick of how often they're infantilized, in general and just for the sake of tearing down BxA. They're grown adults who are thousands of years old. Two of them are parents, whose children are grown adults themselves. 4 of 5 founded entire nations. 1 is an active ruler still (Cacao), one seeks to rule again (Golden). Let's not kid ourselves, they've probably all got blood on their hands (not to the degree the Beasts do, but still. You don't live that life without having to make tough choices). Stop treating them like porcelain dolls lol. Yes, the Beasts attacked them, but they're villains. That's what villains do. Go play Animal Crossing if you can't handle heroes and villains fighting each other lol
And then I get a laugh whenever those same people who screech about toxicity and abuse and yadda yadda turn around and ship H*llyt*ya or Sh*dowSp*ce. The former is BxA in a different costume. The latter... Man. You know. Because TWO deranged maniacs, who are fundamentally incompatible in every way and do not make sense at all and absolutely would hurt each other and bring each other down I hate that ship so damn much. Do not ask me abt it I WILL ramble and nobody needs that. Zero beef with fans though, we're coolio! Just a difference of opinion!, is such a better option, isn't it lol. Hypocrisy.
I'm sure you noticed that ep 7 + 8 brought out a whole lot of new ShadowVanilla fans. I agree w/ you, I can feel that there are a fuckton of BxA fans lurking in the darkness, waiting for an excuse to poke their heads out (like 7 + 8 lol), only hiding because they don't want to attract lunatics. Even YOU sent this ask anonymously. Most of my inbox is stuff from anons, and I look at them all and wonder, "how many of you are just afraid of backlash for expressing any joy in BurningCheese or any of the other BxA pairs?" It's ok, guys. Don't listen to them. Be you. I'm being me right now, as cringy as I am. I am Extremely Normal about BurningCheese and I'm not ashamed :) they're video game characters at the end of the day, just have fun. Why can't we all just be bros, man, what does any of this matter

━─━────༺✧༻────━─━
It had been a few hours since you had returned home and you'd yet to stop shaking. You'd been on investigations with Nate and the boys in the past, but this one in particular threw you way more than you thought it would.
For the entire car ride back home, the events wouldn't stop rapidly flicking through your mind. Nate's arm resting on the console and his hand softly placed on your thigh did little to ground you as it normally did. The thought of reaching down and intertwining your fingers as you'd done many times before didn't even come to mind, your hands too busy picking at your sleeves to do anything else.
Dark midnight skies barely visible through clusters of twisted curling tree branches.
Thick wooden trunks placed around you like a maze, they all looked the same no matter which direction you went.
Dry dirt and bits of gravel kicking up in clouds behind you, scraping up the backs of your legs from the speed at which you were running.
Branches strewn across the overgrown path splitting and cracking loudly beneath your feet.
Your throat, raw from screaming out to the boys.
Your heartbeat, deafening in your ears.
Nate's one-sided conversation through the duration of the ride back barely made its way to your ears, it felt like you were underwater or your ears were stuffed with cotton.
The only thing you could hear clearly was the memory of your own panicked screams earlier that night.
━─━────༺✧༻────━─━
It had started just as any other investigation had, and for the first time in a while, it wasn't happening in a building.
The first half of the video held a strangely nostalgic vibe. In the days of a better quality Sam and Colby channel, where they were now able to book the big shot hauntings and go to different countries with loads of equipment, would sit a small video similar to those of their early days.
They were once again investigating an area that wasn't highly publicized, the only ones to know of it being the eager locals with decades of ghost stories to share.
It was said that there was a witch who lived deep within the forest many centuries ago. She dwelled in a quaint cottage where she would practice her spells and hexes... or at least that's how the villagers of the time saw her.
It didn't matter that the woman was in the woods alone because her family had all perished from sickness.
It didn't matter that she was cooking up the same herbal home remedies as everyone else.
When the drought came and wiped out the village crops but the witch's garden in the woods flourished due to the untouched aquifer beneath her land, they were furious.
It was said that they marched upon her house late one night, torches and pitchforks held high, enraged at the witch in the woods. They yelled, taunting her to emerge so they could take her into the small town square. When she refused, they tossed their torches at the structure, laughter overpowering the screams of the woman inside as the house was engulfed in flame.
It was thought to be an old wives tale, the witch deep in the woods brooding silently as she worked on enchantments was hardly anything new. It was simply a story passed down from parent to child in hopes of keeping the energetic children from venturing off too far on their own.
But then they started finding things.
The ruins of a small house, a foundation of stone left behind in the middle of the forest.
Old, hand-made historic brick, placed in a careful circle like the makings of a well.
The bones found throughout the property, most likely scattered by animals and winds over time.
With the influx of people from the small town once again venturing into the forest, it was only natural that the witch would awaken.
So, you all ventured into the woods with no more than a flashlight each, a spirit box, and a REM pod to see if you would be able to communicate with the spirit of the witch that haunted the woods.
When the sun set was when everything went wrong.
The REM pod began going off rapidly, pointing in every direction, no clear responses being drawn from the item. The spirit box chirped to life despite never being turned on, spouting one word.
Run.
Branches cracked from close behind you, startling your group of four to do exactly that.
You made it a few feet when you tripped over something cold and solid, just tall enough to catch the end of your shoe as you ran. Your flashlight tumbled from your hand, rolling across the ground to show two very terrifying things.
One, the lack of the three boys running along behind you, meaning that you had managed to run off in a different direction than they had. You were now completely alone in the forest that was difficult to navigate in a group.
Two, a short stone wall standing before you, encapsulating the leafy floor you were splayed across. You had managed to run straight into the remains of the cottage.
If matters couldn't get any worse, the very thing commonly experienced by those who ventured to this area happened to you. It was said that if you ventured onto her land, the witch would drain the power of your devices and most often—the batteries of your flashlights.
Any sort of light brought near the ruins in the dead of night would be promptly snuffed out, assumingly because of the tragedy that occurred the last time beacons of light were brought to the location.
Your flashlight began to flicker.
Once.
Twice.
And then the light was gone, submerging you completely in the stale darkness of night.
Everything after that was a blur, all you could comprehend were the quick flashes terrorizing your mind.
Dark midnight skies.
Clusters of twisted tree branches.
A wooden maze of towering trees.
Dry dirt and bits of gravel stinging your legs.
Burning muscles.
Overgrown paths.
Panicked screams of both you and Nate as you scrambled blindly through the wood.
Your heartbeat pounding in your head.
Just as it felt like you were running aimlessly then, you felt as if you could make no progress now.
No matter how far you ran—no matter how much time had passed—you stayed terrified.
━─━────༺✧༻────━─━
Both bedside lamps were on as you burrowed yourself under countless layers of blankets and sheets, your body curled in a tight ball. After all, if your blankets are covering you, the monster under the bed doesn't know you are there.
All that peaked out from the fluffy mass on the bed were your eyes, gaze solely focused on the Disney movie you'd turned on moments before, proving to yourself that witches aren't really as scary as they appear.
Good always wins and bad things can't reach you.
Nate entered the room about fifteen minutes into your movie, hair still damp from the shower and one of your favorite shirts of his draped over his shoulders. It was an old T-shirt from who knows how long ago, but it was soft from wear and one of the most comforting things in the world to have pressed against your skin when he pulled you into his chest at night.
His eyebrows furrowed at your eyes, wide and alert, quickly darting to him when he entered the bedroom, "Babe?" he spoke softly, slowly approaching and kneeling down by the bedside, fishing for your hand beneath the blankets, "Are you ok?"
His eyes were sincere and brimming with worry as he looked upon you, gaze scanning over what he could see of you, assessing any damage that may have occurred in the brief time he left you alone.
You nodded slowly, eyes abandoning the movie and choosing to find solace in him instead.
Once deeming you in no worse condition than he left you in, his head moved finally noticing the laptop perched on the mattress and the movie that previously held your attention playing out on the screen.
A teasing smirk graced his features, "Really?"
Heat rose to your cheeks and you somehow managed to descend deeper into your cocoon. Your words were muffled by the comforter blocking the lower half of your face, "I needed to get my mind off of it." Nate laughed quietly at your explanation making you double down out of embarrassment, "I needed something to distract me so I could sleep."
"A Disney movie?" he spoke, equal parts teasing and condescending.
"What?" you whined rolling your eyes at him, "It always worked when I was younger."
He hummed, standing up and plucking the laptop from the bed, quickly shutting it off and placing it to the side despite your protests.
"Well," Nate spoke, waggling his eyebrows at you a few times in order to get you to laugh, "now you don't need 'em."
You raised a single eyebrow, scanning him skeptically, "Why's that?"
"Because," he trailed off, leaning to press a loving kiss to your forehead, "I'm going to be the best damn distraction you've ever seen."
"Oh really?"
He hummed again, pressing a kiss to your nose.
You tilted your head slightly to the side with wide puppy dog eyes staring up at him, not quite getting what he was implying, "And how exactly are you going to do that?"
Nate pulled the covers down to your chin with a soft, lovesick smile, "Like this." he whispered, finally placing a kiss on your lips.
Your eyes fluttered closed, a warmth flooding your body unlike the one gained from the blankets. This was a warmth that came from the innermost parts of your soul, igniting each and every nerve, setting them on fire.
He slowly peeled back the blankets to reveal your form, arms covered with goosebumps from the stark temperature difference flew up to wrap around his neck the second they were released, fingers sinking into his hair. His own arms swiftly moved around your waist, pulling your bodies even closer as he moved onto the bed hovering over you, never once daring to break the kiss.
The only time his lips left yours where when they moved to trace your jawline and trail down your neck leaving you breathless.
He moved across your skin, leaving a tapestry of red and purple in his wake, painting your skin the same colors as the fireworks dancing behind your eyelids. With your mind focused on him, there was no room to think of anything else, he moved in a way that you couldn't fathom wanting to think of anything else.
His hands dipped lower and lower, teasing beneath the hemming of your sleepshirt and caressing your warm skin.
He leaned back, removing his lips from you after what felt like hours, pupils blown wide and a loving, lustful haze clouding over his eyes.
The only reason he parted was to drag the shirt up off your body with his own quickly following suit to be thrown blindly into a corner, lips hungrily returning to your own the minute the barrier was gone.
He held your attention fully until the sun breached the horizon line, chasing the moon and darkness of night away as it found its rightful place up in the sky. The night was over, any thoughts you had of terrible twisting branches and evil witches dissolved in the light of morning—at least the ones that hadn't been valiantly chased away by your very own knight in shining armor.
You lay in bed beneath the single bedsheet, head resting against Nate's chest as he absentmidedly traced shapes across your back, humming a random melody as he did so. The warm light of day breaching through the cracks of the drawn curtains, bathing your tangled limbs in soft gold.
He was right, you didn't need to distract yourself with the technicolor animations of your childhood. You didn't need to dull your senses with endless hours of princes and princesses saving the day anymore.
Not when you had your very own fairytale sitting right in front of you, ready and waiting to do whatever it takes to give you your happy ending.
With that thought and a sweet smile gracing your lips you closed your eyes, finally able to get some sleep.

Summary: Rose and Adrian get a visit from someone close to Rose.
Pairing: Adrian Chase x Black!Rose Wilson
Word count: 2.7k
Warnings:
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6
Part 6: Under The Sin-fluence
After dropping Rose off at her hotel, Adrian texted her as soon as he got home. The adrenaline from the night still buzzed through him, but more than that, he couldn't stop thinking about her. Adrian hesitated for a moment, then decided to keep the conversation going. If he was going to get to know her better, now was as good a time as any. He decided to ask her if she had any siblings, and patiently waited for her response.
Tumblr media
Adrian tilted his head at his phone. Could it be because of Slade's interference with her life or that she does too many missions to see her family?
Adrian: "Is it because of the missions or because of your dad? Like, does that make things complicated?"
There was a pause. Three dots danced on his screen for what felt like forever before her reply came through.
Rose: "Yeah, you could say that. But questions about him are off-limits. Sorry."
Adrian frowned but quickly typed back:
Adrian: "Got it. I don't talk about my dad much either. He left my mom for another guy, which is cool, but, y'know, stuff like that's hard."
Her response came slower this time, and when it did, it was short.
Rose: "Lol really?"
Adrian chuckled but felt a pang of disappointment when her next message followed quickly:
Rose: "I'm gonna get some sleep. You should too. Don't stay up all night thinking about me 😉."
He bit his lip, gripping his phone tighter than he realized.
Adrian: "Too late."
She didn't respond, and Adrian sighed, tossing his phone onto the bed. Sleep wasn't going to come easily—not when his brain was buzzing with more questions about her. Who was Rose Wilson, really? She seemed to come out of nowhere and shake up his little world of comfortability.
Adrian grabbed his phone, holding it tightly again while biting his lip, went to his search engine. He typed "Rose Wilson." The results were frustratingly generic. Links to social media accounts that weren't hers, random bios, and pages for people who shared her name cluttered the screen. He tried again, adding "Ravager" to the search. This time, the results were... different.
Mugshots of Rose stared back at him, her eyepatch covering her left eye. Articles chronicled high-profile assassinations, and there were images of her standing beside another figure—her father. Deathstroke. Adrian tilted his head. Both of them had eyepatches, just on opposite eyes. He frowned. Did Deathstroke have some weird pirate fantasy he was acting out?
Adrian scrolled further, finding an anonymous forum. The posts were a mix of Deathstroke fanboys and incels salivating over Rose.
Posts like, "I wish Ravager would ravage me!!!" or "STEP ON ME MOMMY RAVAGER"
Adrian scowled, disgusted by the gross little freaks that thought Rose would even spare a glance at them. "Yeah, keep dreaming, losers. She wouldn't touch you with a ten-foot pole," he muttered to himself.
One post caught his eye: a grainy security video. Adrian clicked on it, the low-quality footage playing on his screen. There Rose stood firmly, in an older version of her suit, high ponytail and eyepatch on her face. She was surrounded by five security guards, wielding her sword with lethal precision, slicing and thrusting as they closed in. One guard managed to grab her from behind, locking her in a chokehold, but she twisted free, grabbing his gun and shooting him point-blank and taking the others out.
The camera zoomed in  on one of the guard tried crawling away. Rose watched as Deathstroke entered the frame, walking casually to the wounded man. He crouched beside the guard, said something Adrian couldn't make out, then stomped on the man's head with brutal finality.
Rose stood nearby, her expression unreadable. Deathstroke turned to her, said something else, and together, they looked directly into the security camera. A single shot rang out as Rose fired at the lens, ending the footage.
Adrian sat back, his stomach twisting. He was horrified — horrified at how insanely turned on he was.
He groaned, running a hand through his hair, and yanking off his glasses. "Guess it's time to let off some steam." He was just gonna have to patrol as Vigilante just to get over his horniness and get a nice dopamine release. Even as he suited up, his thoughts kept circling back to Rose.
The next day, Adrian tapped the steering wheel of the vigilante-mobile as he pulled up outside Peacemaker's trailer. His excitement was overt, causing him to tap the steering wheel—he had been waiting all night to tell Chris about what had gone down with Rose Wilson.
The car door opened, and Peacemaker stepped out with Eagly shuffling behind him. Chris gave Adrian a suspicious glance, squinting through the sun. "You look like you just won the lottery or something. What the fuck's going on with you?"
Adrian grinned under his mask, practically bouncing in his seat. "Dude, last night with Rose? Something amazing happened. It was awesome, fantastic, and did I mention it was... amazing."
Peacemaker's eyebrows shot up, a genuine smile creeping across his face. "No way. You finally fucked Rose? You didn't, like, do something super weird?"
Adrian laughed hysterically. "No! We didn't fuck yet. It was more of gratuitous grinding and dry humping, but it felt very much like fucking...well, for me it did."
Chris burst into laughter and slapped Adrian's dashboard hard enough to rattle the whole car. "Damn, that's funny as fuck, dude. At least you're closer to getting laid!" They exchanged a triumphant high-five with Adrian beaming with pride.
"And you know what they say," Chris added with a grin, "if it's good enough, she's legally obligated to call you Daddy at least once."
Adrian's eyes widened. "What? No, I—wait, seriously?"
Chris just laughed harder. "I'm kidding, dumbass!" Eagly screeched as if in agreement, flapping his wings.
Adrian shifted the car into drive, and they sped off toward HQ, still riding high from the conversation.
At Hennenlotter, the team gathered around the room, where Governor Robinson sat handcuffed in a desk. His face masked with defiance despite his restraints.
Economos rubbed the back of his neck nervously. "Governor Robinson isn't talking. Won't give us anything about who supplied him with Bane's venom."
Chris crossed his arms, narrowing his eyes. "Told you, we should just beat the shit outta him. Easy."
Rose Wilson leaned against the wall, irritation and annoyance radiating from her body. "Give me five minutes with him, and he'll spill everything."
Harcourt shot her a glance. "We're not trying to kill him. Yet."
Robinson sneered from the chair, "You dumb little pussies think you're in control, don't you?" His voice dripped with venom from withdrawals from his drugs. "You have no idea what's coming. Especially you..." He pointed to Rose, "There are big plans for you, Rose Wilson."
Rose's eyes darkened. Before anyone could stop her, she stepped forward and delivered a brutal punch to the governor's jaw, sending him slumping unconscious in his chair.
Chris and Adrian simultaneously murmured, "Damn."
"Okay, that was badass," Adrian added, awestruck.
Peacemaker gave Rose an approving nod. "That's how you shut a guy up. High five?"
Rose ignored him, leaving him hanging, and shaking out her knuckles.
Harcourt sighed deeply. "Shit! He was supposed to be awake so we could question him."
"He'll wake up eventually," Rose muttered with a shrug.
Meanwhile, Adebayo sat behind her laptop, her fingers flying across the keys. "Got something," she said. "There's some event happening in Seattle—something that's connected to the governor's disappearance. Could be the lead we need."
Harcourt nodded to Economos, "They may have traces of the drugs at this event, let's suit up and pack up."
Chris grinned. "Seattle road trip? Hell yeah."
On the way to the event, Adrian sat in the van, blissfully watching Rose as she whispered and giggled with Adebayo.
"Would you two stop acting like a pair of teenagers," Harcourt muttered, side-eying them from the passenger seat.
"Um, This is very important girl stuff," Adebayo shot back with a grin. "Okay, now what happened next?"
Rose leaned closer to whisper to her. "We were basically kissing and grinding, Adrian was...hot. Like, he's cute as fuck in a dorky way, but that body though." She emphasized her point by biting her finger and exhaling.
Adebayo giggled. "Oh my god, stop! He's gonna hear us." They snuck a peak at him to see him staring longingly at Rose and ignoring Peacemaker.
Adrian could barely contain his giddy smile as he sighed dreamily staring at Rose. He had no idea what she and Adebayo were whispering about, but he had some hope it was about last night. Though they texted for a while after he dropped her off, he wanted to be in her presence again. Chris, sitting next to him, rolled his eyes. "Dude, did you hear what I said? You're making that weird fucking face again."
Adrian looked over, grinning. "What face?"
"The 'I'd like to fuck the girl who could probably kill me in my sleep' face." Chris muttered with a laugh.
"Not a bad way to go, actually," Adrian replied, completely sincere.
Chris turned to Economos. "Are we seriously watching him stare at them like a creepy perv that wants to jack off right now?"
Economos and Harcourt exchanged a glance. "This is... unsettling," Harcourt muttered. "Chase, keep it in your pants."
Once at the venue, the team split into pairs.
"Stay sharp," Harcourt warned as they entered. "Stick to the plan. We meet back up after the event ends."
Chris and Harcourt headed towards the security post while Adebayo and Economos scouted the outer perimeter and disabled the cameras.
Rose and Adrian crept silently through the dim corridors of the abandoned facility, their steps muffled against the cracked concrete floor. The intel had pointed them here—a supposed cache of Bane's venom stockpiled by corrupt officials. Rose's grip tightened on her sword, her instincts on high alert, while Adrian clutched his pistol in one hand and another in the other hand, 'just in case.'
"Okay, so... this is, like, totally the kind of place where bad guys keep their venom, right?" Adrian whispered, his voice brimming with misplaced confidence. "Dark, creepy, and it smells like ass. Classic villain vibes."
Rose shot him a look, her single eye narrowing. "Shh! Focus on getting the venom, not making commentary."
"Right, right. Totally focused," Adrian said, nodding fervently. Then, under his breath, he added, "Still smells like ass, though."
They entered a back room filled with towering crates stacked haphazardly. Adrian's face lit up. "Jackpot, babe!"
But as Rose pried open the nearest crate, her expression darkened. It was empty.
Adrian frowned, leaning over her shoulder. "Uh... this feels... bad. Harcourt's gonna be pissed."
Before Rose could reply, the air shifted, growing cold and heavy with an oppressive weight. Slow, deliberate footsteps echoed from the hall, drawing closer. Adrian and Rose snapped into defensive stances, weapons drawn, tension thick enough to cut with a blade.
Then, a voice—familiar and chilling—pierced the silence.
"Hello, Rose."
Her breath caught, heart racing as recognition struck her. She'd know that voice anywhere, even after years of trying to forget it.
Slade Wilson stepped into the room, his imposing figure illuminated by the flickering overhead light. He moved with deliberate purpose, pulling his mask off and  tucking it under one arm, revealing the hardened lines of his face and the cruel smirk curling his lips.
Rose's sword trembled slightly in her grasp, but she steadied herself. "No..." she muttered, her voice laced with a mix of fear and defiance.
He stalked towards her like the predator that he was, "Missed me, dear?"
Adrian's reaction was immediate—and entirely Adrian. "Hey, mother fucker! Don't look at her!" He raised his pistol and started firing without hesitation.
Slade moved like a shadow, weaving through the hail of bullets with effortless precision. Before Adrian could reload, Slade closed the distance, knocking the gun from his hand with a calculated strike and choke-slamming him into a crate. Adrian crumpled to the floor, groaning.
Rose lunged, her sword meeting Slade's in a clash of steel. Sparks flew as their blades connected, her strikes fierce but met with equal force. "How the fuck did you find me?" She growled, pushing hard against him.
Smiling at her strength, it just wasn't enough. He pushed her back, slamming her against the wall. "I thought I taught you better than this," Slade taunted, sweeping her legs out from under her and knocking her to the ground. He loomed over her, pulling a syringe from his belt.
"NO!" Rose screamed, thrashing as he grabbed her by the hair. She punched and elbowed him, but his grip was ironclad. Slade only laughed a deep rumble from his chest, and gripped her hair tighter.
"Aww..." he mocked, "Don't wanna be daddy's little girl anymore? You used to beg for my attention, and now..."
Adrian struggled to his feet, his face paled with panic. "Get your hands off her!" Unsheathing his own sword, he lunged, finding an exact gap in Slade's armor and piercing him in the side, only to be met with a brutal kick that sent him sprawling again.
Slade sneered at the pain in his side, his gaze fixed on Rose, and grabbing her again. "You've finally got what you wanted and you'd do what, exactly? Be here in Bumfuck, Washington with this imbecile?"
He jammed the syringe into her neck. Rose cried out as the venom coursed through her veins, her body seizing with pain. Slade tossed her to the ground like a discarded toy, and Adrian was at her side in an instant, cradling her trembling form.
"Rose? Come on, you gotta help me kick this fucker's ass," Adrian pleaded, his voice breaking. Grabbing his sword, he looked up to strike Slade, but like a ghost - Slade was gone.
Rose writhed on the floor, her screams cutting through Adrian like knives. Her fists slammed into the concrete, her breaths coming in ragged gasps.
"Okay, yeah, this isn't normal," Adrian muttered, his tone veering into panicked humor. "Like, on a scale from one to demon possession—whoa!"
Rose shot to her feet, her movements unnaturally smooth, her eye cold and devoid of emotion.
"Rose?" Adrian asked cautiously, backing away. "You good?"
But the woman before him wasn't Rose anymore. She was Ravager—cold, calculating, and lethal. Without a word, she lunged at him, her sword a blur of motion.
Adrian dodged, barely avoiding a slash that would have taken his head off. "Okay, yep. Definitely not good!" He rolled across the floor, grabbing his sword. Ravager didn't hesitate, her strikes were relentless. Adrian blocked and parried, but her attacks were too precise, too fast.
"Hey guys, little problem here!" Adrian shouted into his coms. "Rose is, uh... not acting like Rose anymore. Any chance of backup? No rush, just, you know, before she kills me!"
Harcourt's voice crackled in his ear. "What happened?"
"Slade injected her with something!" Adrian ducked another swing. "Now she's gone full Terminator!"
"We're on our way," Harcourt replied grimly.
Ravager kicked Adrian's legs out from under him, pinning him with her blade pressed to his throat. He saw nothing in her eyes as she pressed harder, he gripped the sword and pushed back, much like she and father did before.
"Rosie, come on," Adrian whispered, his voice trembling. Looking up at her, he was hoping something in her remembered who she really was. For a moment, something flickered in her eye—a glimmer of recognition. Or maybe that was just a blink. But he almost got to her.
Harcourt and Peacemaker burst into the room, guns drawn. "Stand down, Ravager!" Harcourt commanded.
Ravager turned toward them, her expression unreadable. Peacemaker tackled her, slamming her into the ground. She fought viciously, slamming punches to his helmet. But he delivered a calculated strike to her temple, rendering her unconscious.
Adrian scrambled to his feet, his chest heaving. "Jesus, did you have to hit her that hard?" He walked over to Peacemaker and Harcourt, who was checking Rose's pulse.
"I was helping you!" Peacemaker shouted with a shrug, lifting Rose over his shoulder.
Harcourt finished assessing the situation, nodding to Adrian "For now, let's get her into the van, Adebayo will patch you guys up. We'll worry about Slade later." Adrian's jaw tightened as he stared at Rose's unconscious form.

Congrats on the 500 followers. Your writing is great and deserves all the follows. For the prompt request could you do hug with either Mammon or Levi?
Ah, thank you, anon!
Okay since I hadn't had a request for Levi yet, this is mostly Levi, but featuring Mammon because I wanted to do him, too lol.
Thank you for participating!
Tumblr media
GN!MC x Leviathan with prompt Hug
Warnings: none!
Tumblr media
You were finally free of RAD for the day and you were walking home with a spring in your step. You were looking forward to playing a new video game with Leviathan that had just come out. He had skipped going to school, as usual, so you would be going straight to his room as soon as you reached the House of Lamentation.
"What're ya so happy about?" Mammon asked as he walked beside you.
You looked back at him with a smile. "The video game Levi and I have been waiting ages to play finally came out today."
Mammon frowned. "Oh yeah. Man, that means I won't see ya for days now, huh?"
You couldn't help but laugh at this. "Aww," you said. "Don't worry, I'll still be sure to make time for you."
You had reached the house now and both of you entered through the front door.
"Ya better make time for the Great Mammon!" he said, though there was a blush on his cheeks.
You tugged in into a hug, giving him a tight squeeze before letting go. "I'll see you later, I promise."
Before Mammon had a chance to even react much to this, you were on your way to Levi's room. You could hear him spluttering behind you.
When you reached Levi's door, you knocked. He let you in without even bothering to ask for a password. He was clearly waiting for you, the video game in question in his hand.
"MC!" he said excitedly. "It's finally here!"
You settled in front of the TV while Levi put in the game. He came to sit beside you, each of you holding your own controller.
"Ugh, I'm so excited," you said as the opening cut scene began to play.
"Right? Look at these graphics," Levi said. "They've really gone up in quality since the last release!"
"I'm just hoping I'll be able to get the hang of the new form of game play," you said. "It looks kind of complicated."
"Don't worry about that," Levi said. "We can start on easy mode if you want. But I've heard it's pretty intuitive, so we should be able to master it quickly!"
The two of you continued discussing the game in this way as you began to play. Hours passed as you made your way through the game's many different quests and story lines.
And then you found yourselves up against a big boss that you just couldn't beat no matter how hard you tried. You had been attempting to defeat it for ages. At one point you left Levi to tackle it alone so you could get some food and drinks. The two of you needed fuel to really give it your all.
After a snack break, you discussed your strategy. When you both felt ready, you picked up your controllers again and initiated the boss fight.
It was as difficult as ever, but you felt prepared this time. The two of you worked together effortlessly, having mastered the technique you were using.
And then you watched, eyes wide, as Levi finally dealt the finishing blow to the boss.
"We did it!" you cheered. "We finally did it!"
You put down your controller and flung your arms around Levi, laughing happily.
Levi just barely managed to catch you, but he wasn't able to prevent the both of you from toppling over sideways.
Now you were sprawled on top of him, still laughing, while he was blushing furiously and no longer capable of thought.
You sat up, knowing you would need to give him some space if you wanted Levi to function properly again.
You smiled at him as he righted himself, covering his face to hide his blush, which was not receding.
You took his hands away from his face and held them. "We did it. Good job, Levi."
"Th-thanks, MC!" He was still blushing, but he managed to look you in the eye. "I couldn't have done it without you."
You wrapped your arms around him, hugging him close. It was a slow move, so he'd seen it coming this time. Instead of freezing, he actually returned the embrace, holding you close. The two of you sat that way for some time, content to simply share a comforting hug before jumping back in to the game.

My full video of the Tampa Ritual \o/ Yes, I'm insane for recording the whole thing, but also I couldn't really see through the head of the guy in front of me so I'm glad I held my phone over my head for an hour and a half. Audio quality is better than the video quality as I was quite zoomed in, but it sure is the whole show.
Show highlights, in my opinion:
it's very silly, but Vessel, iii, and iv all standing with their backs to the crowd at the end of TNDNBTG was just very cool, to me. cool guys don't look back at the explosions etc etc
also silly, but watching Adam run around stage taking pictures was fun
just. the way the crowd screams when iii and iv (but especially iii) come out onto the stage, and every time they come back out. iii sure is the master of crowd control and the crowd adores him for it
Vessel's barking during The Offering, because me too bestie it's a fun verbal stim (also all I can think of is the Letterkenny bit about DMX barking)
Vessel's screams in general, I'm not typically a fan of harsh vocals but he sounds soooo fucking good live
ii raising/holding out his arms, gesturing at the audience, making what looked like prayer hands, etc. I've seen videos of him doing that but never realized how much he did it, he's so interactive back there and I feel like a lot of the time he isn't paid attention to and/or can't be seen behind the kit
I feel like iv was doing a lot of spinning!! again it might just be bc people usually seem to focus their videoing on Vessel and iii but I wasn't expecting iv to spin as much as he did, and it was fun to watch!
iv was also hanging out on the little stand the keyboard was on for a lot of the time, it was very cute when him and Vessel were playing together up there
Atlantic. Jesus Christ. I was tearing up not only from the song but from the amount of blue lights in the audience, which the video does NOT do justice (I realize in hindsight, it's because I was so zoomed in, I wasn't capturing the full view of the stands)
watching the Espera grooving, especially during the beginning of Hypnosis and the breakdown in The Summoning, they looked like they were loving it as much as the crowd was
The beginning of Alkaline, good god. The camera drifts because I was so entranced by Vessel's stage presence that I wasn't looking at my phone for a while. The way he pulls the mic away from his face and kinda hisses on the end of desire.... I am unwell. I can't tell if you can actually see his fucking grin in this video or if it's just the lights on his face, but if you haven't seen the closeup vid someone else posted of this moment, please track it down. I've been compromised.
Missing Limbs. Fuck. I was crying. Everyone was crying. The way he sings the "without you lying next to me" and "like I've got missing limbs" broke my fucking heart. I adore this man. (bonus: you can hear me saying hell yeah at the beginning bc my bestie @/vacationbiblestudy came back from the merch booth with a shirt for me! he's the one that says "it's pretty" lol)
I'm not gonna lie, I kinda rolled my eyes at the INSANELY noticeable increase in crowd response at the beginning of Chokehold, and then again at the beginning of every TMBTE song, but honestly? The TMBTE portion of the show was genuinely my favorite. All of the songs went so fucking hard. Vessel's voice just got better and better as the show went on, idk how the hell he does it. He started the show amazing and ended the show phenomenal. Witchcraft.
The Summoning. Everything about the Summoning. It wasn't my favorite when I first heard it, but it grew on me, and god it fucks SO severely live. It's incredible. Vessel's voice, his screaming, the Espera dancing, Vessel squatting down to examine iii's playing (and the way he stands up stock straight afterward?? lmao), the DRUM SOLO!!!! and the way everyone waits for Vessel to do the damn Will Smith pose by ii and just screams for him on command, the way Vessel carried the "bad" in "make a good girl bad" god damn, everything.
iii got a mosh pit during Granite, maybe one day he'll get a real wall of death, but at least he got something lmao
the rain sound effects during Rain are really amped up live, and combined with the lights it's just so atmospheric and beautiful
Ascensionism live ALSO fucks severely. I'm surprised the camera wasn't a lot more shaky with how much I was straight up throwing ass. And the lights looking like stars against the ceiling of the stadium was so pretty, even though it didn't translate well in video. And I know I already mentioned ii's hand motions, but especially during Ascensionism, from "my redemption, eternal ascension" until the drums kick back in, ii was FEELING IT back there and I was having so much fun watching him
The bucket hat situation during TMBTE lmao I need to get a clip of just that bit and post it separately. Someone threw the hat on iii's side of the stage while the lights were down and iii was over on iv's side of the stage, and when iii came back he just picked the hat up and immediately put it on. He wore it for a while, then put it on Vessel, who also wore it for a while before just. throwing it on the fucking ground LMAO and then he proceeded to, essentially, dance around it until the song ended and a crew member threw it back out into the crowd
EUCLID!!!!!!!! GOD. GOD. I was getting teary eyed and then the way Vessel sang "do you remember me" just broke the dam and had me sobbing. iii getting the crowd clapping and then stopping them because they weren't on rhythm, and making them start again, iii wearing Sleep Token Mickey ears???? THE NIGHT BELONGS TO YOU!!!! and Vessel literally on his fucking knees for the whole end of the song 😭😭😭😭 and again, Adam in the bg taking pictures (god I hope they get posted at some point)
THIS GOT A LOT LONGER THAN EXPECTED............... THE WHOLE SHOW WAS A HIGHLIGHT. The fact that you can't hear me singing along, or screaming, is a highlight, because I absolutely fucking was. The whole show was fucking incredible, 100000/10, would recommend until I'm blue in the face, worth every goddamn penny I spent and ounce of financial stress the trip put me in. I will never fucking forget it. Especially since I have video evidence lmao

Hi! It's me, waking up from a nice nap to give my lovely mutuals, but especially @khaofirsts @hushedstars @drama-nonsense (the amazing people who accepted my letter-delivering proposal lol) my detailed experience in the FirstKhao fanmeet in Brazil!
So, I only got there by 3:45pm, and the gates would open to the general audience by 4pm (only the people who got VIP1 — the ones y'all probably saw taking solo pictures with First and Khaotung — got to enter earlier) and oh my God the lines were LONG. It was a bit more organized than how it was earlier (in the morning there was only one giant line that was divided by sectors in the afternoon) and the temperature was very nice, not as nearly as hot as it was the day before. Here, it was just a few minutes before it started:
Tumblr media
One thing I want to emphasize so much is that there were so many different kinds of people there! Usually in events like this, with asian celebrities, the crowd tends to be more white, female presenting, more emo/punk vibes, and definitely more lgbtq+, but my guys, when I say there were people of all types, I MEAN IT. There were some nice ladies (that were probably 50+) cheering so much in the line, at first I thought they were mothers accompanying their kids but NO, they were fans! There were also a lot of men too, and gender non conforming people, trans people, you name it!
There were also many black and asian people, although white and white presenting people were still the majority (also, many photos may have you think there were only white and whiteish people but the lights that lit the crowd were so strong they basically made everyone look pale lol).
There were also many people from other countries. There were two guys (i believe they are a couple) that I have no idea where they were from, they only talked to staff in english but to each other they spoke some language I have no idea. There were also many latam groups, I saw some girls from paraguay, I know there was a group from Chile too, and there were probably more that I haven't seen. The crowd was DIVERSE!
But enough of all this pre fanmeet talk, let's get to the real stuff!
My moots. Dear moots. I almost lost my hearing /j. We were so loud, and we always are, it's basically cultural of Brazil to be louder than the artist, but last night was something else. Everyone was so excited, really, it is a different atmosphere.
The boys were so, so nervous! It was very easy to see how nervous they were in the beginning, but I think they got a lot more relaxed as the fanmeet went on. When they first entered singing, oh my god... They really got so surprised we were singing so loudly, I bet y'all have seen the footage already, it's all over twitter. They couldn't believe what they were seeing lol
Just a tiny video I took of part of their introduction (IN ALMOST PERFECT PORTUGUESE MIGHT I ADD) — bear with me I own a 6-year-old samsung and I was in the box seats, the quality won't be qualitying lmao (I made a friend while waiting in line and she'll send me some of her videos, thankfully)
I was kinda shocked, yet not really shocked, when I noticed that First wasn't singing live. Like I get it, we all know he isn't really a singer, and considering this was their largest event (by number of people: ~4k), they probably thought that it would be better that way. In any case, I don't think people really minded at all. We scream so loudly anyway that live or not, we would barely hear it lmao and he was such a charismatic performer, he interacted with everyone he could in the standing crowd. Mr. Kanaphan is a tease, you all!!!
Idk if that was just me but Khaotung sounded a little bit rough in his song, which he sang live. Maybe he had a sore throat? No idea, but by the last song (let's try) he sounded very good. Maybe it was recorded, but I really didn't noticed. Their stage presence got better and better at every song. AND RAPPER KHAOTUNG? OKAY! GIVE ME SOME MORE OF THAT!!!
The questions and games were very fun! I'm not the type that like much fanservice (all of this was fanservice, I know, but like, those obvious one, you get me?) but they were really nice and not much forced. The questions were also very nice and well-curated (no nonsense ship questions), although I think there were a couple of questions the translator didn't understand fully (also, we were screaming so much I can't blame her for not hearing) and she probably translated to them wrong/not complete, so their answers were a bit weird but we understood what they meant. Also, they tried to samba! The crowd singing Zeca Pagodinho! So random... poor boys were so, so awful lmao but we can forgive them because they're cute
The game interactions with the two fans were also really nice! The girls were very polite (one of them was very young and timid, poor thing) and yeah, it was cool *alexa, play "That Should Be Me" by Justin Bieber*
The surprise fan video was so wholesome. I was almost tearing up lol and when, in the video, a deaf fan appeared signing how much she loved them I lost it and just started crying. Really, they are such great people and their talent has entertained and inspired so many different groups, it really is heartwarming.
Okay, now for the picture: Look, I was in a trance like state. I have absolutely no idea how I got on that stage to take the photo. I was the last one of the group so I couldn't sit next to them, but I believe I got to be somewhat behind Khaotung? I remember seeing the top of his head. Oh my god I really blanked out
As for the hi touch, it was so fast I kinda also did not register much? My brain really was malfunctioning. What I can remember is: They aren't as tall as I thought? Like, I don't think they are lying about their height, I just realized I'm not as short as I thought lol I am 168cm and, with the shoes I was wearing I was probably ~171cm. Still shorter but not as short as I somehow thought I would be.
Their hands are soft. Very soft. Also, their skin literally is flawless, everyone was commenting how perfect it was, just like porcelain. I don't know what treatments they do, and what makeup they use, but I need the detailed list right now!
Also, fuck my life: I can try to say anything, literally anything, but when I get in front of celebs the only thing I can mutter is "hi" with a giant smile. What the fuck I couldn't even say something like "i love you" or "you're handsome".... NO. I JUST SAID HI AND LEFT 😭😭😭
Okay, that's pretty much how it went. Oh, and as I was waiting for my uber to arrive, and I was more distant from the venue so I could avoid the crowd. I was in the street right in front of the gates of the venue, but still more distant, there were probably like 10 people around me. I heard so many people screaming at the entrance of the venue — firstkhao were going back to the hotel (you can see the van in an earlier post of mine). They entered the van and then the van was signaling they were going to turn left to the same street I was waiting the uber. Oh. My. God. I started waving like crazy, they could not have missed me looking like those gas station inflatable men lmao I couldn't see them because the window was very dark but boy I just know they saw me again 😂😂😂😂
To finish up, as the official photo wasn't released yet, let me show where I am in the gmmtv pic. Look at top left where the arrows are pointing. See the two hands? That's me, baby

Top 9 Shows
Tumblr media
Thank you for tagging me, @jerzwriter!
Okay, this list was so hard to narrow down and I'm sure I still forgot some, lol.. I was addicted to TV shows at one point (it all started with House and Heroes in about 2008 and lasted for years), I've barely watched anything in the past couple of years, though. Alright, let's get to it! I'll TRY to keep this short..
1. Will & Grace: Smart humor, top-notch physical comedy, amazing cast.. Is it perfect? No. No show is. I once saw a video in which Megan Mullally said something along the lines of "our worst episode is still funnier than the best episode of other comedy shows", which I respectfully disagree with, but it's definitely high quality entertainment! The reboot (or the last 3 seasons, whichever you prefer) admittedly wasn't that enjoyable, but the original finale sucked, so at least the characters got the ending they deserved!
2. Pushing Daisies: I love procedurals and I love shows with a supernatural aspect, so a combination of the two is an absolute win! This show deserved much more than just two seasons! I should rewatch it for a third time soon..
3. Sherlock: What can I say? I got hooked immediately with "A Study In Pink", I rewatched it at least 4 times while waiting for episode 2 to air in my country.. Welp, I couldn't wait, I binged the next 2 eps the next day, lol. To this day "The Reichenbach Fall" remains the best episode of any show I've ever seen and that's the reason why, despite the abomination the final season was, Sherlock made my top 3.
4. The Last of Us: Do I even need to say anything?! I doubt there is anyone who missed everyone and their mom singing the show's praises after each episode, lol. Episodes 5, 6 and 8 were pure television gold! The only reason I didn't put the show higher on my list is that we've only seen one season so far and it's still not clear in which direction season 2 is gonna go.. 🤷‍♀️
5. Only Murders in the Building: Another show that got me hooked with the series premiere already! Of course, the main reason I started watching it was the main trio of actors, but the show is about so much more. I love getting to know the character's backstories as we're trying to uncover the killer.
6. Schitt's Creek: Okay, what can I say about this show? Like with Will & Grace, the first season may not have been "all that" (just my opinion), but from season 2 onward it became a comedy gold! The characters quickly grow on you and make you care about all their highs and lows.. And Moira f**king Rose is hands down one of the best characters on TV ever!
First, a little fun fact nobody asked for: I've finally gotten around to watching this show when covid started and my timing couldn't have been worse - I binged the entire thing within a week, I had one episode left the day the penultimate episode aired and then I had to wait a whole week for the finale! 😩😂
7. Person of Interest: A great procedural with an interesting "twist" (for a lack of better word).. But again, aside from the 'cases', you care about the characters as well. I remember there were at least 2 eps which made me cry.
8. Young Royals: Am I a little too old to be enjoying this show this much? Maybe. Do I care? Hell no! But I'd argue that rather than a teen show, it's a show about teenagers. I originally had no intention to watch this show, but I read a fan review which was very positive, so I figured that I might as well give it a shot and if nothing else, I'd at least pick up some Swedish (Boy, was I naive, lol! The opening scene already showed me that I'll be lucky if I learn 2 words.. 😅). Ahem, sorry, to the point - all I know is that no other recent show had me looking up release Dates and actually worrying that there won't be another season. The show just sucks you in. And it is about so much more than the main romance arc! But apparently I'm partial to the "idiots in love" trope, lol.
9. White Collar: Did I mention that I love procedural dramas? Lol. The main reason I started watching this show was that I fell in love with Matt Bomer's character on Chuck and I simply wanted to see more of the actor. Little did I know how much I'd be enjoying it, even though I didn't agree with each and every of Neal's decisions. Although, if I remember correctly, it was also starting to run out of steam toward the end. I know everyone was hoping for a reboot, but now I'm not sure it would be the same without Mozzie.. 😔
Honorable mentions: Chuck, Monk, Abbott Elementary, The Good Wife..
I'm sure I'm still forgetting many others but this is probably enough.. 😅
They may have already been tagged, but I'd like to see what shows are on @dr-colossal-pita's list (feel free to ignore!)

i’m not sure if you’re keeping up with much, if any, recent mcu stuff but have you watched black panther: wakanda forever by any chance and if so what were your thoughts? to me personally it’s one of the best recent mcu releases and feels like it was genuinely created with a lot of heart, good storytelling, and respect for mental health, unlike some of the other movies/series lol.
Thanks for the ask! I am waiting for a hi-res version because I watched a really lo-res version and omg...I couldn't see a thing in the darkness. I mean I know there's that joke about Marvel movies being really poorly lit these days but even that underwater scene between Shuri and Namor was pitch black. Also I think the sound didn't match the action? Anyway, it was a highly unpleasant watching experience because of the video quality, not because of the movie itself LOL
From the gist of what I got, the theme of the story was grief, and it was nice to see it in all its forms - the anger, denial, guilt, abandonment. It was a very raw film from that perspective, because it asks each character how they move forward with that grief, including the ugly side of trying to come to terms with it. So I think that emotional part was handled much better than most other MCU films have attempted.
I might feel differently once I watch a better version, but the less immersive parts were Namor's story. Some of the plot points and conflicts felt a little forced.

So my internet has been suuuuper spotty since yesterday, but I managed to rip the first 5 seasons off the website, but there's some weirdness with some of them (like the aforementioned endcards being on some videos not all), audio quality differences between videos, and a random episode from season four ripped the 2003 version rather than the 2010 version, despite me using the uniform links on the website. This, combined with the fact I realized I couldn't easily remove midroll ads without using actual video editing software and waiting for it to render, made me lose motivation a bit.
However, there is some good news! I tried a different approach to searching to see if anyone had already done this, and I found one from last month that not only already did it, but did it way better than I could've. So, if you want the link to the torrent, you can DM me for it.
Its predictably pretty huge and we'll see how long it takes me to download with my internet going in and out lol
They fucking paywalled all but the first season of RvB on Youtube are you fucking serious

Lesson time with Dani:
youtube
I think the lesson we all learned here today is that I probably shouldn't look down on kpop too much. But then, I have listened to a lot of vocaloid and read along with the lyrics which get pretty intense sometimes. I would give examples but Prof. Nic has gone through many a phase and I cannot remember all of them. (And some i dont want to remember)
So, lets get on with the... songs? Pieces? Lyrics? Shall we?
1. Opera: Verdi - La Travita, Aria: Sempre Libera (Always Free), Character: Violetta. Lol i seriously thought that this was a pop song I havent heard of. But when i realized how this game was gonna go, aka when they revealed that it was opera and a translation thing, i stepped up my guessing game. But like SERIOUSLY THOOOOO. Who could've known? (Probably the singer or a person who actually understands the language) But damn son. Quiz-sama ain't playin aROUND.
2. Pop: Arianna Grande - Imagine. When i read the lyrics, i knew iMMEDIATELY. Why wouldn't I when I live with a sister who blared this fucking sing day in and out. (No offense sis, no offense Arianna) But like, when i saw that Twoset thought this was an opera? Oh bOI. Thank goodness I'm great at controlling my reactions. Because fam, I would've laughed my ass off in disbelief like what the fuck. I'd understand Brett's ignorance but Eddy too? Damn. (Brett's lofi intensifies)
3. Pop: Billie Eilish - . I honestly thought that this was like- okay, my thought process had phases. First sentence I thought "okay this sounds like that one Arianna Grande song." When I got to the "set fire" part, I thought "adele?" And then when i read "burn", i thought "is this that really old song? The "and im gonna let it burn burn burn" thing?" As you can see, all my song guesses were wrong. At least I got the genre. And like me, the bois were learning. (Cue that bear grylls meme)
4. Opera: Tchaikovsky- Eugene Onegin, Aria: Ya lyublyu vas, Olga (I love you, Olga), Character: Lensky. Like what Eddy said, this one's pretty obvious. Also, "I can see why people like opera now. I'm getting old." "Why yes, I do love opera as well." I say, a not legally an adult person. But like, seriously tho. Opera is good. Granted, I havent listened to a lot and to be frank the only opera I've listened to all the way is the Magic Flute but like- its good stuff. Only thing I want is to be able to appreciate it better. (Also check out Patricia Janeckova's recording of the Doll Song. I love it, its wonderful)
5. Opera: Donizetti - Lucia di Lammermoor, Aria: Il Dolce Suono (The Sweet Sound), Character: Lucia. I'll admit that Eddy's singing threw me off a lil but I guessed opera. With... not a lot of conviction. Sounded like something Lana del Rey would write okay.
6. Opera: Mozart - Don Giovanni, Aria: Madamina, il catalogo e questo (Dear lady, this is the list), Character: Leporello. I thought that this was either some really obscure rap, or weird opera. I couldn't decide so I just let it play out. When I saw it was opera, I was confused. Then, I wasn't because I saw that Mozart wrote it. I swear, Mozart would make a killing as a rapper or some kind of foulmouthed idol if he was born in modern times. Also, small Edwina and Brettany cameo!!!!!
7. Opera: Bizet - Carmen, Aria: Tout Doux, Moniseur (Softly, Sir), Character: Carmen. Honestly, by this point of the video (when I watched it for the first time) I was just straight guessing opera. Although, if the lyrics were rephrased, this line could fit in perfectly somewhere in a pop song. And also, I did not expect the dRAMATICNESS of the singing when they played that excerpt. Like, wOW OKAY. I mean it makes sense for Carmen as a character... and the language they used it in... and the style of opera... okay I really can't say anything about the extraness can I?
8. Pop: Billie Eilish - No time to die. I knew it was pop. (Rhyme scheme and lyric pattern and subject matter too predictable babey) But the fact that it was by Billie Eilish was what confused me. Idky, but them lyrics givin me Taylor Swift vibes. Or Lana del Rey vibes if you slow it down and make it "dreamy".
9. KPOP: Blackpink - Kill this love. This one was sUUUUUPER ambiguous to me. It was very eloquent and poetic in a sense. But then it also gave out pop vibes. I couldn't answer though I leaned more towards opera. But when i saw that it was Blackpink's Kill this love? My brain melted out my ears. I mEAN ITS IN KOREAN ITS A TRANSLATION THING. That still doesn't excuse the fact that im very- aSDFGHJKL about it.
10. Opera: Dvorak - Rusalka, Aria: Mesicku na nebi hublokem (Song to the moon), Character: Rusalka. This one was very obviously opera to me. But dem kpop lyrics threw me for a loop man! I went opera but yall, I was dOUBTING.
11. Pop: Charlie Puth - Attention. Was there really any need to guess this one? Although, if you've never been exposed to pop music and are hearing them for the first time then thats okay. We're all learning.
12. Opera: Mozart - Cosi Fan Tutte (All Women Do It), Aria: In Uomini in Soldati (In men, in soldiers), Character - Despina. I sincerely thought that this was a really obscure rap. And I wasn't surprised when it said that Mozart wrote this opera. (His creepy smiling face tho...)
13. Pop: Justin Bieber - Sorry. Like I said in number 11, was there really any need to guess. And Brett's (albeit braindead) singing of Super Junior's Sorry Sorry is- aUGHCK MY STAN HEART. I WAS ALREADY SLAUGHTERED BY HIM WEARING THE VIOLIN BUTTON UP AND HIS ADORABLENESS AND HIS DADDYNESS OTHER NON ADORABLE QUALITIES. Ughhhhh. Jesus christ i really have to simp for Brett in each of these posts huh?
14. Pop: Taylor Swift - Delicate. I thought that this was fOR SURE an Arianna Grande song. Because of that one song with the sleep thing. But ugh, Eddy's assumption of the song was just too good not to be mentioned. (And also because i need to fill these paragraphs but like- dat voice dow) And oh gOD SEEING THEM LAUGH TOGETHER AND VIBE LIKE THAT? IM- wow look I just died of blood loss.
15. KPOP: BTS - On. Brett picking opera and falling off his chair is me. Quiz-sama. Mercy. Mercy pLEASE. Dude, translated kpop is intense.
Also editor-san was on fIRE TONIGHT. The sass was very string today. Fuck, i LOVE IT. Wait. Holy shit I just realized something. Editor-san, subtitler-san, and quiz-sama. The holy trinity of subtle twoset humor and behind the screen action. The cast is huge and i am a simp for all of them.

Finally got to see Shang-Chi
I was really tempted to actually go to the theatre when it came out, but still afraid of corona so I just stayed home and decided to wait. I saw it was out on digital and just sprung to buy it to own because I knew I'd probably love it and also I wanted to support an Asian movie.
I was right too. Right up in the feels, and just as everyone else said that's all mostly to Tony Leung. Such a class act. I'm so glad so many people can see what a wonderful actor he is. Marvel is such a well-watched property that it definitely exposes him to a lot of people who otherwise probably wouldn't be familiar with him or look into his body of work. But now with everyone watching it and seeing his talent and even hearing the behind the scenes stories about him, I'm sure a bunch of people will take the plunge into Chinese cinema and check out his work now.
I like Simu Liu too though but more as a person. I don't know why, but I kind of found his character to be kind of dull and like very like straight laced, but also that's most of the Asian guys I know in real life back home too. LOL It checks out and yeah, that's the vibe for a lot of them. It's like kind of dry and somewhat self-deprecating and like understated about how they do things and who they are. Not that we don't have the opposite either, but like it's just pretty common to like not know everything they're into. But like in terms of the characters, I kind of felt more compelled by the child actors playing his past selves. By the end, I was totally into his character though and liked how the finale played out and even the tidbit at the end. I think it will actually get better in the future because they have to knock the origin story kind of stuff out, but this movie was really more about his Dad. I'm not mad about that though because the arc of the Mandarin was so good. Like I'm playing some games at the same time as watching, but Tony Leung's scenes had me glued to the screen and when they finally have their final battle together with that emotional sacrifice. Oh man, just the quality of the delivery sold me and I seriously teared up.
But like, the overall film as well has a lot of the wuxia kind of stuff I used to watch with my Dad and other family. Like I come over to stay at my grandma's house either for the weekend in high school or when I'm on break from uni, and my Dad dips out to a video rental place and brings back a movie that's sometimes a random action flick or American movie he wants to watch with me and sometimes it's a Chinese movie he thinks is interesting. He used to take us to movies a lot when we were small too, and like this kind of film is something that hits all those buttons on top of just having a compelling story about a father and family in itself.
I've seen some of Tony Leung's work too because of my Dad and also my Uncle sometimes. I didn't like all of it. He's a really talented actor, but I couldn't stand 2046 because I thought it was too long, and the pacing was just too slow for me. To be fair, we were also waiting for it to be done because our Dad was going to drive us back home to our Mom's so that we could like go to school the next day too, but when you're like 90 minutes in and you're like, "OMG is it over yet? It's ending soon right?" that isn't a good sign. The length wouldn't be so bad if I could kind of guestimate approximately when it would end, but the way the plot was structured it meandered a lot as it wove between the plotlines and made it hard to follow. When you're on a literal time crunch too it kind of turns it into torture.
The best one though is hands down Infernal Affairs though. That movie is so good, and a lot of it is also owing to Tony Leung. How good that film is and how good Tony Leung and the rest of the cast is in it is the main reason why I am so against The Departed as it denied Western audiences the ability to appreciate their work before now and the Western cast got praise from doing a near shot for shot remake of a masterpiece. The original fucking idea was good, and essentially they copied it and took the credit. They might have been able to make a wonderfully enjoyable replica, but a lot of the suspense and hard work into weaving such an amazing story comes from the original idea that was largely overlooked because of distribution rights and the studios being a butt about not giving foreign films a fair chance back in the day. I really hope people go back and watch that film now though that there's more buzz and exposure to Tony Leung. It deserves the credit.

Okay good that sounds so much better I was kind of thinking of not watching when I heard the thing about the birthday party but that has to be a funny blow to the second male lead so I assume the FL couldn't wait for it to be over lol. As for him lying to the mom I assume it's because his family isn't as affluent as she is right? That's actually understandable and I did watch a trailer off a bad quality youtube video and it looks like he's actually really smart and hardworking.
yeah like i said the scene was really weird and i just pretended it didnt happen LOL. there’s no other scenes like it in the drama so far
re: lying to mom, nope! it was about his qualifications for a job she hired him on. tbh he kind of got what he deserved on that on
yeah the lead works very hard and is generally a sweet guy. he’s super kind to the FML it is #wholesome

Sarah!!
Tumblr media
Hi my name is Sarah. Ive played 7 main ts seasons so I am officially qualified to judge now. I cant wait to see what yall did.
Vilma!!
Tumblr media
Hi I'm Vilma and all you need to know about me is that I have a burning love for music videos so I hope y'all put in your best effort tonight <3
Now let's get to some music videos!
Castor's Music Video & Explanation
This is the official submission for the Castor Tribe. We choose to do the music video “Bring me to Life” by Evanescence. This song has a strong theme of Duality throughout the lyrics, and we chose to represent that by only using two tribemates for the lip-syncing portion of this challenge. The video focuses on Bobby, crying out for help, but being shut down by his inner thoughts, portrayed by Bryan. At the beginning of the video, you can clearly see the inner turmoil going on, shown through the colour colour changes and spinning screen. Throughout this portion, it is clear he is listening to Bryan, and letting it hold him back, keeping all these negative emotions inside. About half way through the video, there is a clear tone change, with the scarf starting to come off, signifying an opening up, of Bobby starting to let his thoughts out in a healthy way, and his inner voice becoming quieter and less relevant as time goes on. The video ends on a dark room, lit by a single light, showing that as dark as things may seem, there will always be light at the end of the tunnel, you just must keep moving forward. We felt that this was a good representation for survivor for several reasons. Firstly, in order to progress far in the game, you must be able to rely on other people to keep you sane. One of the Key elements of survivor is the ability to outlast the other players, and that requires you to mentally outlast them as well. You can clearly see that on the Edge of Extinction season, where it is only the mental fortitude of these voted off contestants giving them a chance now. Secondly, there have been several survivor Contestants that have struggled with the ideas of self-doubt, and depression both during and after the show, most notably, Sugar, after Survivor Heroes Vs Villains, as well as Spencer Bledsoe, after Game Changers. Finally, no matter how dark you may think your prospects in survivor are, if you believe there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and keep pushing through, you will always be able to make an impact. We chose to make the video focus on only two of our tribemates because most submissions for these types of challenges tend to include almost all the tribe members, and we wanted to create something that stands out. All of us contributed to the final product in several different ways. Firstly, we had Lilly, who was the Creative Director, and Task Manager. She came up with the narrative and focused on creating a realistic schedule in order to get everything done on time, and to a good quality. Bobby and Bryan, you saw in the music video, as our lead lip-syncers. Aaliyah was the editor of this video, putting to use her skill in a way much better than anyone else on our tribe could have accomplished. Finally, Michael and Jack created the write up, in order to communicate our thoughts to the judges, to show the amount of effort we put into this project.
Zach:
Creativity:6
The explanation for idea of the music video was strong and well intentioned, if not wholly originally, but I’m not sure it is entirely reflected in what got with the video. I appreciate the deliberate choice to use only two members of the cast to support that idea, so I can’t ding for points there, but I don’t think what we got was what we were promised in the explanation.
Effort: 7
Going off of the intro text, I’ll take it in good faith that everyone contributed as much as was mentioned, and despite execution, I cannot fault their efforts if they all tried.
Composition: 5
Any time there’s a vertical video, it’s going to hurt a little, but I won’t dwell on that too much. I will say that the video ending before the song ends does not help its case. Also, the idea behind the colors and the black and white to show emotional change was a good thought, but did not have the payoff that it should have had. The rationale behind it feels more film school interpretation of something after the fact than intended execution.
Theme: 7
The theme as explained was a solid one, and definitely can see tones of it in the performances and set dress of the actors. Nice job. Bryan will haunt my dreams.
All-in-all, I think this was a good effort and it’s obvious that this team works together well and has lofty ideas. I think the technical skill might be lacking, and it seems like everyone here is very structured in their thinking. I prefer that way of thought so I’m with them, but they needed a little more creative flair here to pull it off.
Sarah:Creativity: 5/10
Effort: 5/10
Composition (editing): 7/10
Theme: 8/10
I wish I saw everyone from the tribe in this but I get your reasoning behind it. It was still just overall ok
Vilma:
Creativity: 4/10
You made a creative decision to include only two people of your tribe in the lip sync and while I appreciate the ballsy move I can’t help but feel I would’ve enjoyed the video more if more people were included in it.
Effort: 5/10
Bobby was the king of the show and really put his soul into it.
Composition: 4/10
Rule number one in music videos: film horizontally! Overall I wasn’t a huge fan of the constant use of cheap looking effects but otherwise the editing was fine.
Theme: 6/10
I think the duality theme in your video was nice an well thought-out but it would be a bit hard to understand without your thorough explanation of it.

Elan's Music Video & Explanation
youtube
She walks! She talks! She twerks! She's BARBIE! Jump, dance, and sing with your very own customizable doll! Dress her up and take her out. Barbie is your BEST FRIEND! You can be a Barbie Girl too! SHE'S BARBIE! (batteries not included)
Zach:
Creativity: 7
The idea of using Barbie girl for the song was a strong and out of the blue choice, making it look like a commercial really took it over the top. I can’t go higher than 8 because they used a lot of the original music video to cover gaps, but overall, more creative an idea than I’ve seen in a while, and the execution was beautiful which leads me to:
Effort: 8
To put what they put together as quickly as they did takes a lot of coordination from whomever was putting it together, but the fact that most people went so far as to dress as “Barbies” shows that almost everyone was committed to the gag. There were a couple of people who obviously didn’t have as much time to give to this, but substituting them as the Ken was a nice save.
Composition: 9
Obviously when working with iPhones and computer cameras, the visual leaves something to be lacking, but that is more than made up for here with the various superpositions, graphics, texts, crawls, and cuts. It felt like I was watching a bizarro QVC commercial that was as fun to watch as Barbies are to play with, keeping them right on mark for their:
Theme: 9
The fact that this is basically a weird commercial for Barbies is as fantastic as they are plastic. Every inch of it was filled with something to reinforce the theme, whether it was ordering details, people playing with the toys, warnings, calls to actions, or disclaimers (the bottom Mattel crawl was a brilliant example of all three categories of judgement coalescing to reinforce the them.
I wasn’t planning on rating anyone high, but this was weird, original, well done, and fun. Nice job. It was visual candy, high energy, and all surface, which I wouldn’t typically go for, but that’s what Barbie is about.
Sarah:Creativity: 9/10
Effort: 10/10
Composition (editing): 10/10
Theme: 8/10
You guys impressed the fuck out of me and made me literally LOL.
Vilma:
Creativity: 8/10
Cute outfits, cute barbie nicknames, cute editing, cute CuTe CUTE I want these slutty barbies to myself
Effort: 9/10
The barbie QUEENS and the editor guy did a phenomenal job. It looks like most of your tribe participated, although the Barbies outshined the Ken’s a bit. But overall you guys really put yourself out there and put in the most effort.
Composition: 10/10
The editing was ON POINT. Great job ten out of ten.
Theme: 8/10.
I stan the barbie theme and song choice btw Aqua is a Danish band so I love me some nordic representation <3 My only complaint is I wish you introduced us to the handsome Kens too.
Elan Total: 105/120
Hibou's Music Video & Explanation
youtube
We lip synced Survivor by Destiny's Child. Due to time constraints Gavin couldn't be in the video, but it doesn't matter since Sammy stole the show. :) The editing got a little weird at the end. Some of the file types were different and that causes playback issues. Also the deadline was fast approaching so the sequences towards the end are a little longer. :p
Zach:
Creativity: 2
Hate to be harsh, but going for Survivor for Survivor is a little too on the nose. Listen, it’s a great song, and some people have some great energy, but creatively, this was low hanging fruit. On top of that, the video is literally just lip-syncing, which is basically like playing a Borneo Game in 2019. Given that they’d be given plenty of examples of other ways this can be done well, I can’t rate this high. To paraphrase the song “you’re better than that.”
Effort: 4
To the people that contributed to this, I appreciate your attempt. The one guy who really embraced the challenge, got a mic, light-up glasses, the hat, et al, if this was based on just your effort, I could go much higher. It’s as high as it is because of you. Unfortunately, it’s a team challenge, and for the brief moments that we saw most of the other players, you can see them reading the words on the screen as they capture their performance. I hope everyone enjoyed it more than it shows, but again, to the point of the song “you’ve gotta work harder.”
Composition: 2
Vertical videos really just need to be turned 90 degrees and it would feel like we’re watching a movie. Or if you’re given vertical videos, copy the layer, move it to the back, enlarge, and blur. It will make it instantly more watchable. This grade isn’t solely because of that though (3 vertical videos don’t help though). The titles screen is cute, but assembled poorly. Some of the text is covered some of the pictures. There’s no real pace to guide us through the song. The cuts seem arbitrary. Editing is very hard and never appreciated, so to whomever put this together, if you did your best, nice job and I encourage to stick with it, but kinda feels like “I’m not gonna give up” was something you were saying to yourself over and over again when trying to make this work.
Theme: 2
Picking this song was a bold choice since it’s so obvious, but you can’t lose points in this category based on choice alone. But given that choice, you have to really knock it out of the park, and I don’t think the bat even touched the ball with this one. There’s nothing here that screams either Survivor nor what Destiny Child was singing about, I don’t know if we’d be weaker without this song in our life.
Look, I hate to be critical, especially since it’s obvious some people put it in a lot more work with this than others, but to be honest, this wasn’t a shining example of what you’re all capable of. It’s hard putting these together, and maybe it just wasn’t worth it this time. Making music videos can be fun or terrible depending on with whom you work. I wish you the best, but I feel like because of this, for one of you “I’m gonna make it, here on Survivor” just isn’t true.
Sarah: Creativity: 4/10
Effort: 3/10
Composition (editing): 6/10
Theme: 4/10
You tried.
Vilma:
Creativity: 4/10
I feel like you guys could’ve been more creative with your Survivor theme. I like that you introduced everyone in the beginning but other than that the video was very simple.
Effort: 6/10
Most of your tribe seemed to participate and that’s always nice to see. Some of you guys were really feeling it too so big props to that!
Composition: 3/10
Again, gotta deduct some points for not filming horizontally. Plus the lip syncing was VERY off most of the time, such a simple thing to fix and the video would’ve seemed much more professional!
Theme: 5/10
Your song choice is literally perfect, you GUYS are survivors and you know it but I wish you would’ve included little skits or something to emphasize the theme.
Hibou Total: 45/120
Congratulations to Castor and Elan for winning immunity!! which unfortunately means Hibou you will be heading to tribal council, where you will be voting off the first person in Tumblr Survivor Algonquin. Tribal will be live over Google Hangouts, and we plan to start at 9:00 EST. please let the hosts know beforehand if you will be able to attend tribal council or not.
