Aight I’ve been thinking about it and I gotta say. If James Cameron wanted to beat the Avatar series does some racism’s allegations, uh well several things.

a) All of Netiri’s and Jake’s kids should’ve been not white. All of them. (Pretty sure most are)

a.5) just cast more non-white people. Overall. Humans too (I have a slew of thoughts about this which I won’t get into).

b) Kiri is absolutely Na’vi Jesus or whatever, she is also played by Sigourney Weaver and tbh I think this is a mistake. It’s not full white savior and I guess it could end up being a minor thing but I think a mixed person should have been cast, idc if she’s basically a clone or whatever. That’s magic bs anyway, make something else up.

c) Spider is also going to do the same thing (white savior bs) and I’m pretty sure he’s white? I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure he is and I don’t… no. (I guess he might instead be the last alternative path humanity could take on Pandora but uh… we’ll let’s just say I also have thought in that)

d) on the one hand a more minor issue, on the other an issue from like, 2007. The dreads on white men. Jake, had no business having dreads, Spider had no business having dreads. Just don’t.

e) Kill Jake and let his kids fully take over as the main characters asap.

also the current robin 2021 run tbh... i think the idea of a tournment and damian grappling with guilt could be fun but the writer cares waaaaaay too much about his ocs to give damian real breathing room

speaking of damian: teen titans 2016 coulda been SO fun if they werent so racist and wanting to make damian a bad guy for caring about immigrants and people of colour lol. i rly loved what few good moments he had with wally, emiko, jackson, and the others.

for DC, four come to mind:

>Parallax isn't Hal Jordans fault

so if u dont know hal jordan back in the 90s broke down after his city was destroyed by doomsday and he lost many loved ones. as a result he went full on villain (parallax) and ended up destroying most of the green lantern corps and caused the zero hour event

he then was killed and later came back as the hero spectre, basically being a ghost hero and trying to atone for his actions he did in the lowest point of his life

anyways later on geoff johns got the reins and revived Hal and said it wasn't hal's fult at all, he was just possessed by an evil space bug made of fear, the real Parallax.

aaaand i hate that. I hate taking away Hals role in everything and making him a victim. I dont mind the other retcons Geoff Johns did to GL lore--hell i prefer it because he really fleshed things out and added the other colours and explained the weakness to yellow even!--but I think it all could have been done without stripping Hal of any wrong doings or guilt. Its rly lame.

He had his momentts of violence, yes but his anger had a trigger; he wasnt angry all the time, he was a sweet and intelligent kid who loved Bruce a lot and had a rocky relationship with Dick at first but they did eventually get along. He had a few friends, knew the titans, and was well liked by his family.

too many stories stress his violence and impulsiveness and make him out to be a bad person with at least trying to explore why he is that way and sympathsize with him.

not only that but the treating of his death as inevitable or his fault or anything like that frustrates me so fucking much bc the weight of death in the family, of its aftermath and a lonely place of dying, of under the red hood, really hinges on the fact that jasons death was a tragedy, one that shook Bruce like no other. because he lost his child who he loved!!!!!

Am I Tripping Or Is Helluva Boss Also Stereotypical? (Bit of a rant sorry, wasnt impressed :< )

Name is Cleatus with a ‘hill billy’ (sorry, idk if that’s seen as an offensive term? I think red neck is offensive so Im going for what feels safer but idk help me out-) accent. (Honestly the voice is so unfitting it feels like a parody-). HB seems to love the Southern accent (nothing wrong w the accent but the portrayals... Ehhhhh...) Considering everyone gets their own VA to sound unique, the female sheep sounds like we’ve heard her voice in all of Viv’s works before. It’s a pretty voice! But just... Save money and VAs are versatile to play various roles in one series- This really caps their full potential.  Horse imagery everywhere. Lets be honest, Blitz liking horses and his IG pet ended up being the SH logo, it’s really awkward self praise- I hate to say it but it does make me cringe a little... The sciency villians designs. Just... Awful and out of place- Seems like a try hard attempt at a parody. Forced. Misses the mark. Also got Villainous vibes too, like that Dementia (sorry forgot her name but lizard hoodie girl!) lady. She suits her world at least and carries her humour a bit better. The warning is again immature (its an adult cartoon yet I - an adult - feel more like a teen when they cant trust their audience to understand ‘sexual references/scenes’ and opt for ‘horny’. Also no suicide warnings bc dayum even censored it was graphic - and Im a fuckin horror simp! Plus - even accidental - it’s a sensitive topic you need to be careful with. Again, just feels like childish attempts to make ‘funny edgy humour’. Dark humour is an artform most think they have yet lack.  Removal of Tilla. The most unique designed and actually interesting looking imp. Gone. The same futuristic heaven she criticised another creator for-  Im sure Wally’s only back bc he got so much fan simping tbh, similar to how Pent was supposed to be a one off and Travis is a minor character. Overall the humour really didnt hit (and I LOVE shitty puns-), it felt mediocre at best BUT BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT Can we give credit that FU-CKING FINALLY we had 1 - ONE - UNO - SINGULAR plot that actually fucking flowed, made sense (sorta), wasnt just messily patchworked plot pieces together and actually flowed like an episode? Still that should be bare minimal that it feels almost dirty to give credit for. Likewise, I felt *stupid* watching. Like they think the audience is so stupid they have to explain everything to them. Basically a kids show if blood and swears slipped in.  Weirdly, this was the weakest episode as well as the strongest plotwise. Halfway through S1, this is... I laughed once, which was even less than last time.  It just feels like watching someone with talent piss it all away for their 15 minutes instead of building a more solid foundation thatll last far longer. Likewise, it almost felt like anti-heaven propoganda in a way rather than ‘both sides wack’ and like heaven is an after thought. I didnt really feel the passion. Yes the other episodes need a LOT of work to be professional studio quality but at least you could feel a soul, a passion. This felt filler. There was no development or anything. Like you could skip it and still understand (well ‘understand’ considering the usual storytelling). Like Ep 1 had a flowing, linear plot (look Viv and SH have shown they arent capable at branching and juggling multiple plots efficiently) and everything sorta feels downhill from there for me... Also for a cat owner it feels Vivs only seen persians and tuxedo cats. (Id also like to personally add - AND IM SORRY - that how husk-like Mox’s felt, idk whether it was a subtle shitty HD ref or just lack of creativity for cats. Also the tux cat with ‘buttons’ and bowtie needs some variation and spice FAST) Again, its a shame Viv/SH dont open themselves up for genuine critique as itll bit their ass sooner or later. Been there, done that, never a-fuckin-gain.

I know I deleted the previous post but tbh the feelings in it still stands. So I’ve pretty much decided I’m going to take a permanent break from tumblr. I just f eel like I’m walking on glass on this site nowadays anyways. I can’t even properly just leave the anti community while on here cuz Io and Io’s stans decided that wasn’t enough. They gotta just constantly monitor my blog too. If  I wanted constant thought policing and borderline stalking I would’ve just stayed in the JW org. So I’ve decided I’m leaving. Maybe then if I leave for a long amount of time and people still keep sending aggressive asks over the callout y’all will realize you really can’t in it all on me anymore. I genuinely regret letting Breeze and Luci be su crits/antis f or so long. I conjoin the two labels because let’s be real the SU crit community was kinda just another subset of the anti community. Because the SU crit community ended up being a pipeline for the anti community f or Breeze and Luci. I have also not been lying about any of  my minority labels but I know that trying to convince people who believe the callouts of  that is like explaining it to a rock. I genuinely regret the time Breeze and Luci spent in those communities. I think the most the system got out of it was like learning more about proper socialism. But tbh the end of  the day I wish they’d learned about it through the socialism subculture in the anti anti community instead. And this isn’t me saying I’m going back to the anti anti community now. I”m just leaving the idea of internet communities in general right now. Especially for the reasons I talked about in the briefly posted vent post. I’d always had issues with a lot of  the ways antis handled certain things. And this whole situation has just heavily highlighted them to me finally. I’m neither an anti nor an anti anti, I’m just me. Incredibly disillusioned by the idea of solidarity in internet communities. But I can’t help but feel bitter about letting Breeze and Luci waste so much time we coulda spent on recovery in the anti community. Because looking back on it we sure weren’t gonna get it there. I feel like if they’d learned the full extent of  how we got groomed as a kid we would’ve been shamed out just for that by the majority of  antis. BUT THEN THERE’S SAMSON!!! who was kicked out of the templar order and left to die on the streets with his lyrium addiction!!! he hates the templars!!!!! like, it would’ve been so cool to see c*llen as the one leading the red templars (and also would have made sense) while samson is the older, hardened ex-templar turned advisor who knows the terrible things that the templars have done and wants to Actually fix it while still showing the addiction side of being a templar. also? the drama of seeing the minor side character from origins, who then became the templar extremist, who is now one of the main antagonists??? i fucking love negative character development and that would’ve been so fucking cool to see

like, i was just talking to my friend abt this, i would love to see a renegade templar NPC who wants to dismantle/change the templars after seeing what they have done. give the narrative layers!!! in da2, we see templars who work against the order!!!! give us that again!!!!!

needless to say, da4 in tevinter is going to be interesting bc there is canonically very loose templar rule, and obvi we all know the shit with tevinter, so it’s going to be an interesting change of pace from ferelden/orlais/kirkwall, which is so templar driven

Yo! Thanks for the ask anon! As for the question, well yea I'd say I gotta couple gripes with Super, tho I'll be talkin bout the anime only since the manga is a whole nother thing itself. P much everythin before the U6vsU7 arc wasn't all that great. A popular statement you'll hear a lot is "BOG/ROF were better in the movies" which I gotta agree with. Super had some pretty good moments in those arcs like Gotenks and Ginyu/Tagoma in ROF, Goku having more God form time, kid Vegeta with actual bangs and the first 5 minutes of ep1 but overall they weren't as enjoyable as the movies. Everythin beyond that is way better. Not perfect tho. But to be fair I wouldn't say any of DB is perfect, even if it is my most favorite series of all. A lotta people complain about Goku's character in Super is way too childish or naive and I can see why they say that, at points he does act a bit too dumb. Like never havin kissed or how he was in the BOG arc but other than that and some other moments, I don't think he's too far off. Admittedly tho, it is kinda hard to compare Super Goku to OG-Z Goku since those were written by Mr. Toriyama himself instead of multiple writers given a draft of what Mr. Toriyama gave for Super. Wow this is gunna be long aint it. Anyway Super had p bad pacing in the beginning too, the U6vsU7 arc was okay, GB was good in the beginnin but slowly began to pace too quick while the other main arcs had not too bad ones. The animation was horrendous in BOG an ROF, U6vsU7 was okay but the GB arc and forward was when the animation really started to get good. I saw a translated tweet by someone tho who said the studio at Toei wasn't in really good condition and weren't treated too well besides the occasional "do your best!" by a higher up employee. Which was why Broly looks so great, cuz they had a good and healthier workplace than regular Super did. Super also had some okay music, but not as good as Z. There's shinin moments where the music really pops out but for the most part it's not too memorable. I would talk about power-scalin but that's a can of worms I do NOT wanna open lmao. All I will say is that at this point, both Goku can definitely beat Beerus on a 1 on 1. Jiren isn't bad exactly, but he's very bland. Zamasu was good but I wish they coulda expanded upon his descent to madness. The Lesbiyains are great but I think we need more time with them to say they have great characters. The U6 warriors besides Cabba, Hit, and The Lesbiyains need way more uniqueness bout em (even tho I love Magetta). What was THAT in the ending to the GB arc. Most of the other univeres could have had good characters but they weren't too interestin besides a couple, but I'll let this nitpick slide since it's hard to make over 100 completely unique chars in sucha short time. The writin was mostly good imo in the U6vsU7 arc, the GB arc (for the most part), the TOP arc and the arc where Goku dies cuz of Hit arc but eveythin other than that was p lackluster. Thankfully those are the only arcs that really matter, besides the Hit arc. And lastly the lack of a serious threat did cause some lack of any real tension in the show. And that's pretty much all of my problems with Super, which is way too fuckin long. Yea it's gotta lotta probs but I'd still watch all of it over a LOT of things lol. I can't say for sure if I like it over Z/OG/GT. It's not exactly like I prefer any of them over each other, besides maybe over GT (which isn't as bad as everyone says to be tbh!). However! A very very VERY minor yet kinda big gripe I have with Super beyond the U6vsU7 arc, is that Goku and Vegeta didn't keep their new outfits!!! Like c'mon! Yall gave up cool new outfits for the sake of nostalgia!

They look great in these! These coulda been the standards for Super but Toei and possibly Toriyama himself chose to go back to Z's outfits. I love the old ones I do but why not use the super cool new ones?? I'd've love to see SSG Goku in this gī. Or Royal Blue Vegeta in this armor. Ah well. can you believe it took me 20 years to give a shit about this character and it was only after Kazuki Takahashi retconned his backstory for DSOD and gave him actuall emotion? Like, talk about a fucking self-insert, empty shell of a character. Almost every fan I’ve seen of his always screamed about how he was misunderstood and under-loved by the show and the fans and how much of a deep and complicated character he was. Thoough they casually forget to mention the part where they only like him cuz of one thing that happened in volume seven of the manga and he never reaches that same usefulness ever again. This character is inconsitent, NOT THAT IMPORTANT, really boring tbh... like, people talk about how selfless he is for sacrificing himself to save his friends but like... have they seen ygo? All the characters do that? Jou dies like four times for his friends, get on his level lol

Or how he’s “forgotten” in the show but lol, ther eare whole chapters and volumes he don’t even fucking TALK in the manga. Shit, KT didn’t give a shit about him either lol. And I am still 85% certain that fans only like him cuz he is a blank slate that can easily be used to tendership and be a fuck toy for Yami Bakura. I mean... this character bores me but the majority of the reason I hate him is how obnoxious his fucking fans are and how much they shoved him down my fucking throat on how “unloved” he was when lol i can’t go anywhere without seeing this fucker. Don’t make me think about him, there’s nothing to him. “He has an occult aesthetic” awesome. Cool. What does that have to do with him being important or even interesting?? Why should I focus on his interest when I have the spirit of a pharaoh as the main character and all these other ancient powers? He ain’t unique. And worse, he has no personality. NOOOO N EEE.

Yami Bakura

HELLO MOST USELESS VILLAIN!

Oh my god... he’s so useless. Hes so forgettable. He honestly fails as a villain cuz NO ONE GIVES A SHIT ABOUT HIM. NONE OF THEM DO. THE ONLY CHARACTER HE IMPACTS IS HONDA. Yami forgets about him and defeats him quite easily for the first half of the show (which makes their third showdown all the more laughable tbh). Kaiba don’t even give a fuck about him. The fact that the main villain of Battle City (Yami Malik) defeats without losing a SINGLE LIFEPOINT is quite amazing.

Like, I can ALMOST respect a villain working in the shadows and ultimately being the final boss and having be unsuspecting and shit. However, he fails at this. Bakura fails at this SO FUCKING HARD because he never actually wins and is constantly beaten by everyone. He only wins once and that’s against the most minor of fucking minor characters. hE LEAVES NO IMPACT ON ANYONE.

Malik quickly forgets about him, moving on to Anzu to help get his sister to help him hide Rishid and Bakura is gone from his mind. Shit, Yami forgets about him every time he defeats him and is “surprised” each time he comes back. I’d say thats cool but he is easily defeated anyways. Pegasus and Kaiba and fucking Malik left impact on Yami and Yugi... Bakura leaves none. He’s just there, like a fucking cockroach. I GUESS he leaves an impact on Ryou but Ryou is such a bland character that it’s hard to tell what the fucking impact is.

If Bakura was removed from the story, it would’ve flowed better. Been smoother. He’s just this random parasite that sucks depth from the story as well as wastes time. Not to mention he has one of the most irritating fucking fanbases ever. Like, I’m glad they finally realize that he sucks and aren’t screaming about how he’s the greatest villain.

Also, for being the “main villain” lol... he sure is in a coma a lot. and even left out an entire fucking season (doma arc) which coulda been used to develop him. another thing, he has no development or depth. i can’t analyze this underdeveloped character who has nothing with anyone.

And omg, his “tragic” backstory is told through flashback of the guy who is COMMITTING the atrocity within his own tragic backstory. AND I FEEL MORE SORRY FOR AKNADIN, WHO WAS THE TRUE BADDIE OF THE SEASON.

TKB inflates the story, clogs it up and took the spotlight from the actual story and conflict and the worst part was it’s so obvious he was never meant to be that fucking important.

it’s not eventhe fans fault - the fans almost make him sound like an interesting character but for me, he took away from the plot that the show was building up to and was just... incredibly poorly written.

Okay so, in Touchy Subjects I tied with Johnny in the category "If you could not win the game, who would you most like to see win". And I'm very confused by this because I literally thought I wasn't a threat to win at all. Johnny I understand, he's the one controlling everyone, he's the one calling the nuTemoana shots, and so if he made it to the end he would win no doubt. But me on the other hand, I haven't exactly done much, like I've tried to make good social bonds with everyone, and been honest with everyone, but yeah other then that I'm kinda confused how I got the majority in that category.
