Monody AU Mini-boss Lore (Part 2: Anura)

Gusion - (He/Him) His ancestors were once slaves for a civilation that was later taken over by Heket. Her conquest had saved them, and his family swore allegiance to her ever since. He was fiercely loyal to his Bishop and had to be forced to join the Lamb's cult, spending most of his first few months in jail.

Eligos - (He/Him) He and Gusion were just two random guys who happen to drink at the same bar at the same time. They talk sometimes, but they barely know each other beyond little snippets of their work day. When he heard that Gusion died in the line of duty, he poured himself one last drink and went in search of the Lamb, ready to die. After the fight, the Lamb made him aware that Gusion was still alive and in their cult. They didn't even need to ask Eligos to join them.

Zepar - (He/Him) All he ever wanted was a place to belong. Witchcraft ran in his blood, and when he's not busy being a soldier for Heket, he's a nameless apothecary on the outskirts of Anura. He's very lonely, feeling disconnected from other people and unable to maintain meaningful relationships. He fights the Lamb only because he has to, because it was expected of him. The Lamb tells him that their cult accepts everyone willing to be part of it. There was some hesitation, but he still joins them.

Bathin - (She/Her) Bathin, like the other Witnesses, grew up in Silk Cradle. She was just a little older than Shamura and was in the same training unit they were in. When Shamura ascended with the Purple Crown, she became one of their personal guards. A few years later, Heket joined the royal family and Bathin was transferred to her service. She had intense respect and loyalty towards Shamura, and that extended towards Heket as well. The two developed a sisterly bond over the years, especially after Kallamar's marriage created a large vacancy in Heket's daily life.

Bathin didn't want Heket to fight the Lamb alone. Heket knew that, so she went without letting her know. She won't let another sibling die for her.

Chapter 37: On Zepar's word, the lamb returns to Anura to retrieve the last known relics of the Cult of Death and encounters the Witness of Famine.

before you dive in, YES AGAIN! witness bathin uses neopronouns. thon/thons, one of the classic sets of neopronouns introduced and first used in 1858!! it's a shortened version of the phrase, "that one".

leg and i both use neopronouns, so i thought it'd be fun to shake it up a little bit :3 all of the witnesses will use neos <3

Next, we have the high priests of the lower sectors.

Barbotos was the easiest to piss off out of Leshy's entire court. He likes playing in the mud since the cult grounds are not as humid as Darkwood. Zepar washes the food and gets irritated whenever Barbatos gets anywhere near the prep station. Baalzebub mixes the medicine like no one else can. The only issue is when they try to experiment on any poor follower who enters the tent. Harus is the combat pro out of the followers. He's working hard to train those who are willing after he learned how to use his new hands.

Finally, the Bishop's Witnesses, the second in commands.

Agares does her best to stay light on her feet and be as flexible as possible. She is seen doing some sort of balancing act while watering the crops. Bathin makes sure everyone is well fed and WILL drag you from your work before you starve. Astaroth is the only one from Kallamar's court you don't need to worry about. They clean the linens and repair clothes. Allocer tracks who goes out on missionaries and gives them enough supplies for the long trips.

I love your Heket, this is a Heket appreciation ask, ✨she is perfect✨

honestly my favorite bishop depends on what day it is, but if I couldn't say shamura is my overall big fave, 10000% it would be heket. I feel like she'd overwork herself taking care of the other siblings, who've come to just expect her to do the brunt of the work and stopped saying "thank you" forever ago. Meanwhile she has the least amount of time for her own cult, and has to catch up a LOT to make sure followers don't dissent left and right. So she kinda forgets someone could take a moment to appreciate her without expecting something in return.

Also I have NO idea how leshy's packages would end up in anura instead of darkwood but I feel like he'd manage to make it happen...

Things to note about the comic— The first panel was made a while ago compared to the other two! I decided to shift the style of what I wanted to do for what kinda mood I want the comic to have which I decided to go with dramatic lighting ✨

I debated whether or not to redo the first panel to be more like the second and third but settled on keeping it as is to show that i wanted to change it a bit for later! If you notice any missing details, no you saw nothing! 🥲

I'm not used to making comics and my writing style changes from time to time but I hope to practice more with this AU!!
