Here’s what my secret cosplay looks like so far!

I wanted to debut it on tiktok but I guess I’ll be doing it here!

So here’s my progress on it! I’m attaching the sash rn. Hand sewing everything cuz I’m bad at machine sewing 🪡 and my knees definitely have complaints lol

I also have the sleeves and socks done as well, made from the same purple sparkly fabric too!

I still need to start on the wig!

Just took a chunk of my finger off with an exact-o knife while trying to make a cardboard crown for my Technoblade cosplay.

i've been struggling for the past year with this phenomenon where i will love making a costume, i am so excited, i will pour my entire inspiration into it,

then i put it on at a con and my first thought is: "why am i doing this?"

but i know why i'm doing this, technically! for the joy, the satisfaction, the craft: i can't stop making and learning new things and i love it. i can't help it. ive been doing this for 15 years. i love developing new skills and incorporating my art skills into the hobby. i have improved so much. i have cosplans into the far horizon that i am still excited to tackle.

is it cons? maybe - they're packed and cosplay is different now. but they've been different for some years. and i am still making friends and getting to hang out with my pals in the maker community which is also pretty much why i go to cons. i just don't know what's up with me.

Oh I’m so ANGRY. I bought a pair of mad cheap crutches today for like $5 (the kind that go around your arm sort of) with the intent of cutting them down short enough to be the front legs of a quadrupedal costume. One of them was already slightly bent but I thought, hey, maybe I can just blunt force it into the collapsed position. But no, I got the damn thing stuck so now I’m going to have to saw it off completely and aughgh. Even if I HAD managed to collapse it, it’s still gonna be too long, so I’m going to have to saw them both but hhhh 💀

I could cut them with the dremmel but I really don’t trust myself to cut metal on my own. Sparks are scary.
