hellooo, i just found your blog & checked out your spotify (love your music taste!!) and the books you read. do you have any book recommendations (maybe based on taylor songs to make it fun) and what was your favourite read this year?💛

Omg hello!! Thank you so much!! It’s always nice to have another book lover around these parts so welcome to my blog! 🫶 This got pretty long so I’ll chat about books under the cut.

To be honest this year wasn’t the best year for reading but the brightest shining star from it is The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo. I love her books so much and if you like fantasy this is such a good book to check out. I really loved the vibes of it and the tension between the main couple. If I had to pick a few Taylor songs to go with it I’d say: cowboy like me, dancing with our hands tied, and fresh out the slammer.

I just finished These Violent Delights and Our Violent Ends by Chloe Gong and I really recommend them if you like enemies to lovers and fantasy with an air of mystery! It’s matching Taylor songs: love story (only because it’s a Romeo and Juliette retelling otherwise it’s not the most fitting lol), but daddy I love him, the way I loved you, forever winter, and the great war.

I really enjoyed The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett this year which is historical fiction. It was a bit different than i originally expected but I love books that cover characters whole lives, I find them so interesting. It’s Taylor songs: it’s time to go, breathe, clean, and I’m only me when I’m with you.

I reread Alone With You in the Ether by Olivie Blake this year and I really love this book. It might be one of my favorite books ever. It’s Taylor songs: this love, you are in love, the archer, king of my heart, and the lakes.

I really enjoyed Portrait of a Thief by Grace D. Li it’s such a fun art heist novel! It’s Taylor songs: getaway car, the alchemy, I did something bad, mastermind, and anti-hero.

I thought The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley was a really good mystery. It’s Taylor songs: no body no crime, paris (duh), and illicit affairs.

If you love a good Greek retelling and somehow haven’t read Circe by Madeline Miller you need to get on that STAT! It’s Taylor songs: mad woman, who’s afraid of little old me, peace, and sweet nothing.
